00:51 Welcome to 3ABN's Spring Camp Meeting:
00:57 Live from the 3ABN Worship Center. 01:02 We welcome you once again to the 3ABN Worship Center 01:05 to Spring Camp Meeting 2016: 01:09 Christ, Calvary, and the Sanctuary. 01:10 What a powerful word we heard from Mollie Steenson. 01:13 Very powerful, very passionate, and so very very appropriate 01:17 for the times in which we find ourselves. 01:20 It is my privilege and pleasure to introduce to you 01:22 our speaker for the next hour. He is Pastor Kenny Shelton, 01:26 speaker/director of Behold the Lamb Ministries 01:29 headquartered right here in southern Illinois. 01:31 He and his wife Chris are a formidable team... 01:34 formidable tools in the hand of God for the salvation of 01:37 souls of men and women. Kenny is a good friend, 01:41 a good person, a good mentor, a good basketball player, 01:45 and a good student of the Word. 01:49 He's a fun person to be around, but when he gets into that Bible 01:53 he is all business and he's very very serious. 01:56 He preaches like his life depends upon it... 01:58 and it truly truly does! 02:01 So we are happy that he has been given the task 02:04 to unpack the subject The Day of Atonement. 02:08 And I cannot wait to hear that subject as God has given him 02:12 words that are meat in due season for us. 02:15 So we ask you to listen very very closely. 02:17 This is sort of a brother/sister act this morning because 02:20 the music is coming from Tammy Shelton, his baby sister. 02:24 Kenny I think is the oldest and Tammy is the youngest, 02:27 so we get both ends of the Shelton clan this morning. 02:30 And she's going to be singing I've Never Loved Him Better. 02:33 But I would ask you to bow your heads with me in a word of 02:35 prayer, then we will have Tammy Shelton come. 02:37 Tammy... Tammy Shelton. 02:40 She is Tammy Shelton, and I'm having a... 02:43 Tammy Shelton Chance. 02:46 And then we will have Tammy Shelton Chance sing 02:48 and then our speaker: Pastor Kenny Shelton. 02:53 Shall we pray? Father God, 02:56 how we thank you and praise you for Jesus. 03:02 We thank you for the fact that we are now in the antitypical 03:08 Day of Atonement and that very soon 03:11 Christ will leave His priestly work 03:16 and assume His kingly garb and come to take His children 03:21 home. Oh dear Jesus, thank you 03:26 for the privilege we have of listening to Your Word 03:30 and for the power in that Word. 03:33 Bless now the speaker; bless now the singer. 03:37 Bless those of us who sit and consume what is offered 03:42 that our lives may be made more like Christ Jesus 03:45 and we may be prepared for that day when soon He shall come. 03:51 We thank you, Father, in Jesus' name. Amen. 03:56 And now Tammy Chance. 04:01 Are ya'll enjoying Camp Meeting? AMEN! 04:04 Amen! Me, too. 04:05 Just a quick reminder: if you haven't been to the donation 04:09 barn, please go over there when you have a chance 04:12 between meetings. We have lots of great things over there. 04:15 And every penny supports this ministry 04:18 and then you get to go home with great little treasures too. 04:21 So just make sure you visit. And if you don't want to buy 04:24 anything, just come and visit us. And we would 04:27 love to have you over there. 04:39 Since Jesus came and found me 04:43 and He put His arms around me 04:46 and all my binding fetters took away. 04:51 Although I loved Him dearly 04:55 and trusted Him sincerely 04:58 I've never loved Him better 05:00 than today. 05:03 I've never loved Him better than today, 05:10 I've never felt Him closer along the way, 05:16 And oh how sweet the feeling 05:19 when in His presence kneeling 05:22 I've never loved Him better than today. 05:31 Oh blessed Friend supernal 05:34 my hope and joy eternal 05:37 keep Thou my soul till shadows flee away. 05:42 For nightly I would pray, Lord, 05:46 till end this pilgrim way, Lord, 05:49 I've never loved Him better than today. 05:54 I've never loved Him better than today 06:01 I've never felt Him closer along the way, 06:07 And oh how sweet the feeling 06:10 when in His presence kneeling 06:13 I've never loved Him better than today. 06:19 I've never loved Him better... 06:21 no, I've never loved Him better... 06:24 no, I've never loved Him better than today. 06:34 Amen! 06:38 That was good... Oh, that was good! 06:41 I'm glad my microphone wasn't on because I was singing along 06:44 with her, and you would not want to hear that! 06:49 We love Him better every day, don't we? 06:52 Amen! Praise the Lord! Oh, it's good to be here! 06:54 Camp Meeting... wonderful time! 06:56 Praise the Lord we can gather together. 06:58 Gather strength, right? or the power of the Holy Spirit. 07:01 I'm glad to be here and I'm really glad you're here. 07:05 And those who are watching, listening, around the world: 07:09 we're thankful that you've joined us. 07:12 And don't miss one of the programs. If you do, 07:15 you're going to miss maybe the one that's going to speak 07:17 to your heart, draw you closer to Jesus. 07:19 We're going to be talking about, and I will rush fast as I can. 07:23 So if you have a pencil and you want to jot some things down 07:25 do it, because I'd love to read every verse, every text 07:27 that we're going to talk about, but I cannot do it 07:29 because of time 'cause there's so much to cover. 07:32 So we'll just hit the highlights by the grace of God. 07:34 Let the Holy Spirit do the speaking to your heart. 07:37 You know, I spoke, too, before I have prayer. 07:40 And if I get carried away and I forget to have prayer, 07:43 somebody say: "Boy, you get down on your knees and you pray. " 07:46 Is that all right? That's exactly right. 07:50 I spoke to an atheist friend many years ago 07:54 and he wanted to know... He asked a question: 07:58 he wanted to know why some animals were - 'cause this is 08:01 an atheist - he wanted to know why some animals 08:04 were killed in the sacrifice he'd heard about. 08:07 You know, in the Bible... people talking about it. 08:09 He said: "Why does an animal have to die 08:11 when men are doing things that are wrong? " 08:14 Well, that's a pretty good question. 08:17 "And you folks say: 'In order to make things right 08:20 that animal had to die but he didn't do anything. ' " 08:22 So after a lot of conversation we began to talk about things: 08:26 the sanctuary and sacrifices 08:29 and Jesus being the Lamb of God. 08:32 It was very interesting. His question came back 08:36 again after all the con- versation he still came back. 08:39 Atheist, mind you. His question was: "Yes, 08:43 yes, but why did that harmless, 08:47 that perfect, that spotless lamb 08:52 have to die? " 08:54 Atheist. "It doesn't seem right. 08:58 He did nothing wrong; he hurt no one. " 09:05 He left this preacher speechless. 09:07 Is somebody with me? 09:10 An atheist saying: "That lamb didn't do anything wrong! " 09:13 He didn't do anything. Jesus, right? The Lamb of God. 09:17 I'm still awed by that comment and by those questions. 09:21 And I don't know that I have all the answers 09:24 but I know He's a spotless Lamb and I thank God for that. 09:28 What is this word that I'm looking for today 09:31 when I say there's a man who calls it an accident. 09:34 Think what this word might be. God calls it an abomination. 09:39 Man says: "I blundered. " God calls it blindness. 09:44 Man calls it: "Well, it's just a little defect. " 09:48 God says it's a disease. 09:50 Oh mercy. Man says: "Well, you know, it's just kind of a 09:54 fascination that I may have with something. " 09:56 God calls it fatal. Amen! 10:00 Man might say: "Oh, this is kind of a luxury, what I'm 10:03 involved in right now. " God calls it leprosy. 10:06 Deadly disease. That's right! 10:09 Man says: "Well this is liberty! I can do what I want to do! " 10:12 God calls it lawlessness. 10:17 Man says it's: "Oh... just a mistake. " 10:19 God says it's madness. 10:22 Man says it's "weakness. " God calls it willfulness. 10:27 You know, how man calls things and how God calls them's 10:30 two different things. 10:32 And I've learned this over the years. I've really learned this: 10:36 it isn't the things... Now especially Adventists... 10:39 Somebody stay with me. 10:40 I can talk about them I want to... I am one. 10:48 We think we know an awful lot 10:50 and praise God, many are studying and the Holy Spirit's 10:53 revealing. But a lot of times we're adamant about what 10:55 we believe. And if we know it's solid, stay with it. 10:59 But it isn't really the things that we know that gets us 11:04 into trouble. Somebody follow me. 11:07 It isn't what? The things that we know that gets us 11:10 into trouble. It's the things that we think 11:14 we know for sure that do. Amen! 11:19 Somebody needs to - and those who are viewing it 11:21 maybe have never heard this subject, maybe haven't been 11:23 watching the Camp Meeting 'cause they've missed an awful lot of 11:26 good messages. We're talking about the Day of Atonement. 11:31 As we talk about the Day of Atonement I feel the need 11:34 of prayer. Amen! Been having a little knee problem 11:37 but I'm not going to worry about it. I'll get back down. 11:39 If I scuffle and shuffle up here, don't you worry... 11:41 I'll make it back. Is that all right? 11:43 Don't you worry about it... we're going to pray. 11:45 Anybody wants to kneel you pray with me, shall we? 11:47 Let's pray together. Amen! 11:49 Loving Father in heaven, thank you for the privilege 11:51 of prayer. Thank you that we can call You our Father. 11:53 Thank you for Your Word today. 11:55 We pray the Holy Spirit will make it clear, that we'll be 11:57 able to hear, we'll be able to understand the message 12:00 that You have for Your people. 12:01 Lord, most of us have no idea. 12:04 We talk about it. We don't realize we're in the Day of 12:07 Atonement, day of investigative judgment. 12:09 Oh... the day of judgment! 12:11 Oh God, help us today we pray. 12:13 May the Holy Spirit love to go up and down the aisle 12:16 talking to Your children today and around the world 12:19 the people that need to make that decision. 12:21 Lord, I count upon You. I ask You to forgive me 12:23 of any sin in my heart and my life that needs not be there. 12:26 Oh, I need to hear Your voice today. 12:28 I need to feel Your Spirit. 12:30 And I know that You've promised it to us today. 12:32 Open the minds, the eyes, the hearts of each of Your children 12:34 today. In Jesus' name we're going to thank You in advance, 12:37 Amen. 12:41 The Bible says... Whoo! I like that! 12:44 What happened? Yeah, I get tired of saying "The preacher said. " 12:48 I don't care what the preacher said. Amen! 12:51 I have respect... don't get me wrong. 12:53 But you follow me here. What we're talking about is 12:54 "What does God say. " Amen! Too much the evangelist said, 12:57 too much the preacher said, too many my brother, sister said. 13:00 It's all right, but listen: God said. Amen! 13:02 This is where we talk about Day of Atonement. 13:04 It is Biblical; it is true. 13:07 And I'd love to read all the verses. I will not, so you 13:10 jot them down. Found in the book of Leviticus chapter 23. 13:13 The Day of Atonement. And if we had time, we'd read verses 13:16 27 through 32. Just really hits it on the spot. 13:19 I'm just going to read one of those verses right now, 27. 13:22 The Bible says: "On the tenth day... " What day? 13:24 "tenth day of the seventh month" - notice - "there shall 13:27 be a day of... " What? "of atonement. " 13:30 That's a big word but it's a good word. 13:32 "It shall be a holy... " What? "convocation unto you. 13:36 You shall... " Do what? See, most of us don't even know 13:41 we're supposed to be afflicting our souls 13:43 if we're in the Day of Atonement. Are you with me? 13:46 Now what's the afflicting of the soul? Hey, it's looking 13:49 squarely in the mirror and looking at what you are. 13:51 You can call... You understand your life. 13:54 You understand things that maybe someone else doesn't. 13:56 But we need to afflict our souls. Notice this: 13:59 "and offer an offering made by fire... " 14:02 Why? "unto God. " 14:04 This is the only, we find, commanded fast. 14:08 This is the time to Israel of a Sabbath rest: 14:12 the Day of Atonement. It's a high day of Israel. 14:16 It should be a high day to those of us who live in this day. 14:20 It's a high time that we live in. 14:22 Not a dreaded time... it's a wonderful time 14:24 but it's time for self- examination of where do you 14:27 stand with God. It's a time of getting sin, 14:31 by the grace of God, out of our life. 14:34 It was the only day of the week besides the weekly 14:37 Sabbath in which all work was forbidden. 14:42 The Day of Atonement was also called a day of what? 14:45 Somebody say judgment I'll get happy. 14:47 Day of what? Good! Oh! Of judgment. 14:50 And notice: those who did not, my brothers and sisters, 14:53 afflict their souls... what happened? 14:56 They were separated from the camp. 14:58 They were separated from God and death would follow. 15:01 Are you still with me? 15:03 Day of Atonement... afflicting the soul. 15:05 Doing some self-examination. We'll talk more about this 15:07 afflicting the soul. Because all of this stuff 15:10 we look at in the sanctuary and we study it 15:12 and we look at it and say: "Oh, this is wonderful. " 15:13 It applies right now. 15:15 This is information that we need as God's last-day people. 15:19 We need to give it to the world because this is an issue that 15:24 we are dealing with. The soul would be cut off. 15:27 That's not the only time. You say: "Well this is the only 15:29 time. " No! Read Genesis when you have the opportunity. 15:32 Genesis chapter 17 verse 14. 15:35 Read Exodus chapter 12 verse 15. 15:39 You'll se that there were times that something happened 15:42 that God said: "I've cut off My people. " 15:44 You say: "Well, we're God's chosen people; 15:47 He's not going to cut us off. " Don't you fool yourself. Amen! 15:51 You mess with the Holy Spirit and reject what is truth 15:53 and you'll see if you're not cut off or not. 15:55 I'm not... I'm not for mincing words today 'cause I believe 15:58 Jesus is coming. If you don't mind, I'll just lay it all out. 16:02 If you want to get mad, you just get mad. Amen! 16:04 All right? If you love the Word, you won't get mad. 16:07 That's right! Amen! 16:11 And when the time comes to wrap up this meeting 16:13 you'll say: "Go on, pastor. Preach some more. " 16:17 If you don't, you'll be saying: "I'm getting hungry. " 16:20 Well, you know, those that are hungry you just go on out there 16:22 because we've got some business to settle here with God's 16:25 last-day people. I do believe this with all of my heart. 16:28 And by the grace of God I want to live it, I want to love it. 16:31 I want to serve Him, and I know you do, too, today. Amen! 16:35 Patriarchs and Prophets. I believe in the Spirit of 16:37 Prophecy. Nobody's going to discourage me with that because 16:40 I've read it. I've been inspired by the grace of God to read 16:43 those words. I say: "Thank you, Lord, 16:44 because this old slow mind needs some help. " 16:47 You think you have a good mind you don't need the Spirit of 16:50 Prophecy. You think you know too much. 16:52 If you do, I know I need that Spirit of Prophecy. 16:56 I need that extra help. Yes! 16:59 I thank God for it. Patriarchs and Prophets p. 355 says this: 17:04 "Once a year... " We know this... "on the great Day of 17:06 Atonement the high priest... " did something. What did he do? 17:09 Somebody say: "he entered in the Most Holy Place. " 17:12 Oh, that's just... No, that's not good enough. 17:15 He entered in the Most Holy Place because he was going to 17:18 what? Cleanse the sanctuary. 17:21 We're in the time of the cleansing. 17:24 The world does not know this message. 17:27 Most Adventists don't know this message. 17:30 They really don't. They think they do. 17:32 They say: "Oh, the atonement again. " 17:34 You'd better straighten up! 17:38 I need to straighten up in the cause of Christ. 17:40 I'm serious about it. I may use words that get your 17:42 attention because we need to straighten up 17:45 because we are in this time. It is dealing... 17:47 All of this stuff we go through, but you know what? We need to 17:50 find out what our duties are right now in this Day of 17:54 Atonement. We need to understand these things: 17:59 the cleansing. I find that the cleansing of the sanctuary, 18:03 the services of the sanctuary from the beginning 18:06 to the end... eventually is the work of atonement. 18:10 That's what it is: the work of atonement. 18:11 Why do you need atonement? Why do we need it? 18:13 Some people think they don't need an atonement. 18:15 Don't you fool yourself. That's right. 18:18 I'm not here to fool myself. 18:20 An atonement for what? Sin. 18:23 Good... atonement for sin. Amen! 18:25 And notice: an atonement for sin was made at each step - 18:29 notice that - in the process of dealing with it. 18:32 There's a step. Come on somebody... there's a step, 18:34 you see, and then there's another step. 18:36 A lot of times we just try to jump from here to there. 18:39 You're just going to get yourself hurt. 18:41 That's all you're going to do. You're not exercising. 18:43 You go to take a big step... You know what I'm talking about. 18:48 The Lord says "a step at a time. " That helps us to 18:50 keep focused, isn't that right? And we realize 18:52 there's a lot to this process. Oh, how wonderful! 18:56 We are living in the Day of Atonement. Is that true, church? 18:59 Amen! Oh, you're here. And we realize... and I'm not 19:02 going to go into a lot of stuff and I'll mention over and over 19:04 I don't want to get on somebody else's subject. 19:06 I don't even want to get on somebody else's nerves 19:08 but I might. OK? 19:10 And let me tell you... I found this out: 19:12 people get upset when they hear the truth sometimes. 19:16 They say: "Well, you're getting on my nerves. " Come on! 19:20 Preachers sometimes think people get on their nerves, too. 19:23 You still with me? Amen! 19:27 Thank God. You see, we're living in the Day of Atonement. 19:31 We realize quickly... Which began what? At the end 19:33 of the 2,300 day/year prophecy. 19:36 Daniel 8:14. We realize great things took place. 19:39 Christ entered the Most Holy Place. 19:41 He began His work as our High Priest. 19:44 I hope I have more time. Oh, I don't. 19:47 I see already somebody's tampering with the clock. 19:54 In case I don't get to it let me tell you this, 19:56 and you know it... you should know it: 20:00 people tell you that it ended at Calvary 20:03 they don't know what they're talking about. Amen! 20:07 They don't know what they're talking about. 20:09 And I know some of these people who tried stuff. 20:12 I've read about them in the 1950's. 20:16 They didn't want the sanc, they didn't want our High Priest. 20:19 What are you going to do with the blood? 20:21 Calvary's wonderful... that aspect of it. 20:24 That right? His ministration in the Most Holy Place 20:27 as my High Priest is just as important as His death on the 20:29 cross. You have to apply that blood. There's an atonement 20:32 made. I hope we have time to talk about atonement that God 20:36 makes for the sin of ignorance. 20:39 Most of us that will hit pretty well. 20:43 And that means not knowing, doesn't it? Come on. 20:47 Every sin has to be accounted for. Did you know that? 20:50 Even if you're ignorant. That's why "He didn't know... 20:53 he's ignorant. " There's atonement still has to be made 20:55 if you're going to make it to the kingdom. All right! 20:57 And God has provided a way, and I'm so thankful for that. 20:59 Oh, what an awesome Savior we have! 21:02 Christ and the sanctuary, Calvary. Wonderful! 21:06 We know that His work ceased in the first apartment 21:10 in 1844 and He made the move. 21:12 Read Revelation 3:7-8. You know there's a door 21:14 that we could go through and then the door was shut. 21:16 No man can... Here He goes. 21:18 We need to follow Him into the Most Holy Place. 21:20 Most people don't know whether there is a sanctuary or not. 21:23 They say: "Oh, you Old Testament Christian. " 21:25 This is New Testament teaching! 21:26 Read the book of Hebrews. 21:28 This is good stuff! This is solid... Day of Atonement... 21:31 the day of at-one-ment. And I do believe this: 21:34 the unbelieving Jews illustrated the condition 21:38 of God's professed people here in these last days... 21:41 notice... who are willingly ignorant of our High Priest. 21:46 Willingly... because they have the sources. 21:49 They just don't... They'd rather be going to a birthday party 21:52 or some kind of a big get-together... 21:54 some kind of a "sock hop. " 21:59 You know it's the truth! 22:03 You have a big feed at the church and the whole church 22:06 shows up; you have an evangelistic series 22:08 and no one shows up. That's right. 22:10 You know where your heart's at. No one needs to tell you. 22:12 You know that. 22:16 We know in the typical service the high priest 22:20 praise God in the Most Holy Place. 22:22 All of Israel... they were required to do what? 22:25 Gather together. Can you imagine? We say we're 22:27 in the antitypical Day of Atonement right now. 22:30 And if we call all Adventists together 22:32 yeah, it'd be a sad turnout! Amen! 22:35 It would be a sad turnout. 22:37 'Cause most of us would think we don't need it. 22:39 We've heard it; we understand it; we know. 22:41 Oh please don't feel that way. 22:43 I need it. I need to grow. I need to hear these things. 22:46 They gathered together to do what? 22:48 To humble their souls before God. To say: 22:51 "God, what is there that needs to go in my life? " 22:54 I'm talking victory over sin. I'm not talking about 22:56 this two-bit stuff that people are preaching: 22:58 "Just do the best you can and one of these days you'll 23:00 make it. " That's all right... I understand. 23:03 Most of you don't want to hear it 'cause you looked in 23:05 the mirror. You look at yourself and you're hopeless. 23:07 Amen! I'm talking about myself. 23:10 If I look to myself, I am hopeless and I am lost. 23:13 If I look to Jesus, He's the Author and Finisher of my faith. 23:18 Don't ever say that my Lord and Savior is not able, 23:21 powerful enough to give you victory over every area 23:24 of your life. You're calling Him a liar 23:26 because the Bible says differently. 23:28 This is part of the atonement. This is the Day of Atonement. 23:31 That's what... Is that what we're supposed to be doing? 23:33 That's soul search. Don't you guys search my soul. 23:38 Don't you search your neighbor's or your husband's soul. 23:40 Search your own soul; see whether you're right with God. 23:42 Too many people are nosing in everybody else's business 23:45 and they're not taking care of their own business. 23:47 Jesus said: "I must be about My Father's business. " 23:51 We need to be about our Father's business. 23:52 Here we are right now in this time. 23:55 Afflict your souls before God. That way you can't be 23:57 foolin' yourself. God hears you, He understands you, 24:01 He reads you, so you're going to have to be honest... 24:03 maybe for the first time. 24:07 Hmmm... If they weren't, cut off! 24:10 That's what it says. 24:12 That's true then, and it's true how much truer 24:15 today that we live in that exact time. 24:17 Why do you think the sanctuary was given to us? 24:19 So that we can follow Christ. So we know where we're at 24:22 in the stream of time: antitypical Day of Atonement. 24:27 We need to understand the duties, listen, that are 24:30 required of us. 24:32 If we don't, I'm afraid we may be lost. 24:34 We may be a lost cause. 24:35 Let me go over some quick things just quickly as we can. 24:37 The main points: we're going to hit them this way 24:40 and then we'll come back and hit them in a little different 24:41 way... but it's still going to be truth... 24:43 'cause some of you will miss it the first time around. 24:46 I know it's not you... it's the guy next to you. 24:48 I understand that. No, I know what people think. 24:50 I've heard it all before. I've been around a long time. 24:53 You're not going to fool me that easy... come on. 24:56 Isn't that the first thing when something's wrong? 24:58 "He made me... she did. He didn't. Oh, I'm glad 25:00 I'm not like they are. " All right. 25:05 Truth concerning the sanctuary, the Day of Atonement. 25:09 They're taught in where? The typical service on earth. 25:13 You remember? The old sanctuary. 25:14 These are the truths that we're talking about. 25:16 If a person sins... Let's just break it down. 25:19 I like it simple. A person sinned, what did they do? 25:21 They were under the death sentence number one. 25:24 All right? "The wages of sin is death. " 25:25 They had to do what? What did they do? 25:27 They had to bring an offering. But praise God, before the 25:30 foundation of the world... be- fore the foundation of the world 25:33 there was a plan made so that when man sinned 25:35 he didn't have to die immediately. 25:37 You say: "Well uh... " People go out in the world today 25:39 and they do everything that they're big enough to do, 25:41 and because God doesn't strike them dead right at that moment 25:43 they think they can continue to get away with it. 25:46 The devil lets you get away with it for a long time 25:48 till he pulls the rug out... and then you're finished. 25:50 Somebody with me? 25:52 You know what I'm talking about here, church. 25:55 Don't let him fool you. 25:57 'Cause you don't get a knot raised on your head immediately 25:59 when you do something wrong. That knot's coming. 26:03 And I'd a lot rather have the knot right now and be saved 26:05 in the kingdom. I'd rather have the spanking right now, 26:08 you see, and be saved in God's kingdom - 26:10 Amen - than have this little easy stuff I hear too much. 26:14 Praise God! Sin... and then death. 26:18 But the plan of salvation did something. 26:21 It offered a substitute to take my place. 26:26 I can say sinner's place. 26:27 You say: "Well, you know that sinner... " 26:29 The sinner's place: that's me. 26:31 Until you see yourself as the greatest sinner that ever walked 26:34 this earth maybe you're not seeing yourself as you should... 26:36 as I see myself. Yes! 26:38 Paul, a converted man, saw himself that way. 26:40 The closer you get to Jesus the clearer you'll see yourself. 26:44 Amen! Does that make sense, church? 26:47 The closer you get to Jesus you'll see yourself for what you 26:50 really are. You are destitute; you are hopeless. 26:53 There is no help outside of Christ. 26:55 Praise the Lord! So they're offering 26:58 a substitute for the sinner's place. 27:00 But notice: that substitute had to be a blood offering. 27:03 The Bible says in Hebrews... What is it, somebody? 27:06 Help me out. Hebrews 9:22. 27:08 "Without the shedding of... " What? Blood. "Without the 27:10 shedding of blood there is... " What? "no remission of sin. " 27:13 There is no forgiveness of sin. 27:15 Let me tell you, church... Some of you... I hear people 27:17 all the time - other faiths all the time - saying: "Well, 27:19 you know. I gave my life to Christ, I was washed 27:20 in the blood. Now I can go live for the devil, 27:22 I'm still going to make it. " "Once saved always saved. " 27:25 That's not scriptural at all. Amen! 27:27 So don't beat around the bush about it. 27:29 If we understood the sanctuary message we'd realize 27:31 what happens. When you sin, what? Covered by the blood. 27:34 Were you forgiven? Absolutely! 27:36 But you know what? It wasn't taken care of. 27:38 It's not taken care of till the Day of Atonement. 27:40 There's a covering... but then you have to walk and say: 27:43 "My knee's feeling better right now. " 27:47 Yeah, you think it's not... but it is. 27:51 You have to continue to walk with Jesus. 27:55 Those sins, they do what? Symbolically, right? They're... 27:59 till the Day of Atonement they're still there. 28:02 They're covered. You're fully forgiven, 28:04 but you have to endure until the end. 28:05 We're going to see that as we study. 28:07 People don't believe it. "Well I'm covered by the blood; 28:09 I'm going to make it. " Blood! 28:13 That blood was taken into the sanctuary. You remember? 28:16 Blood offering was made for the sinners. 28:18 Let me tell you: somebody's not going to get this. 28:22 No... It's simple... it's going to be so plain 28:26 it's going to set your ears on fire. 28:28 All right? Somebody wants it... That's the way the Word is 28:32 and that's the way I want it. 28:33 I'm simple minded. I want to hear it. 28:35 I don't want 10, 11, and 12 when I'm talking about 1, 2, and 3. 28:41 They said yesterday - practicing up here - 28:44 and they said "Well, we're going to change song #2 28:46 to #7 and then we're going to change... " I said "Enough! " 28:49 "Don't give me but two numbers at a time. " 28:55 We become confused sometimes because there's so much. 28:58 We try to digest so much before we really understand it 29:01 and can put it... knead it into our life. 29:08 Everybody - every denomination, every faith - that believes in 29:12 Jesus Christ say: "I'm covered by the blood. " 29:14 We write songs and we sing it. Praise God! We are; it's good! 29:17 But you realize when someone's singing about the blood of Jesus 29:20 Christ, you know what they're doing? 29:22 The sinner is acknowledging the authority of God's law. 29:26 Amen! Did you get it? 29:28 No... When you say the blood, regardless of what your faith 29:32 may be... and everybody - Christian - says: "by the blood 29:34 of Jesus Christ... " When you say: "I need 29:36 the blood to cover me" why do you need the blood 29:38 to cover you? You're acknowledging that God's 29:40 law is still in effect and you need to be forgiven. 29:42 Amen! Whoo! Glory! Somebody stay with the program. 29:47 Yeah, I know. Then, you know, what does a person do? 29:53 Conviction comes... you confess to sin. 29:55 Express the desire for forgiveness 29:58 and through faith in the sanctuary of a coming Redeemer. 30:03 Whoo! I praise God for that! 30:05 But notice: even at this point in time, you've confessed 30:08 your sin, you're covered with the blood, you brought in your 30:10 offering, blood was shed. Notice this: the sinner was not 30:14 really yet released from the condemnation of that law. 30:18 Isn't that interesting? 30:20 Because sins were what? 30:22 Symbolically stood in the earthly sanctuary 30:25 day by day, did they not? 30:27 Until once a year on the Day of Atonement. 30:29 God wanted that to go every year as a reminder 30:32 of where we're at today... that we are in that hour 30:35 and we have been for many many many years. Yes! 30:38 Bro. C.A. will speak about 1844 on the Sabbath. 30:41 You won't want to miss it. 30:42 It's going to put things together. Maybe you still have 30:44 questions. Day of Atonement. 30:49 High Priest. What does He do? 30:52 High priest takes an offering. You know this, but let's 30:54 put it together. He takes that offering and the blood into the 30:57 Most Holy Place, does he not? Where does he apply that blood? 31:00 He sprinkles it - somebody help me - 31:03 He takes that blood and he sprinkles it on the - somebody 31:05 say mercy seat. He sprinkles it on the mercy seat. 31:08 Amen! Praise God for mercy, isn't that right? Because 31:11 there's a law underneath that that many people don't even 31:13 acknowledge that they've broken. 31:15 They still have broken it. 31:17 Praise God for that mercy seat. 31:19 Whoo! What is it? Romans 3:24 said: "I'm justified 31:23 freely by grace. " 31:25 I'm not a believer in working your way to heaven or 31:28 giving your way to heaven or trying to be a sweetheart 31:29 and make your way into heaven. Is somebody with me? 31:32 We're justified freely by grace. Praise God for that! 31:35 I think it was Paul... I love what he said, 31:38 and I stand here as a Christian today loving Jesus 31:42 and I know you do, too. I Corinthians 15:10 he said: 31:47 "By the grace of... " Whoo! "By the grace of God 31:51 I am what I am. " Amen! 31:55 By the grace of God you are what you are. 31:58 It could not happen without what? The grace of God. 32:02 The mercy seat. Praise God for that mercy! 32:07 Mercy seat... directly over the law of God. 32:10 His blood - Jesus' blood - satisfied the wages of that 32:14 broken law. Then what did the priest do? 32:17 He was the mediator... isn't that right? 32:19 Then he does what? He takes the sins upon himself. 32:24 He leaves the sanctuary, but the sanctuary has been cleansed 32:28 of the sins. He takes the sins out, then he does what? 32:34 Puts his hands, right? He places them on the scapegoat 32:37 which is the old devil as you well know... Satan. 32:39 He confesses over them. He transfers those sins to 32:43 the... whoo... the originator of sin - the devil. 32:46 He is a liar! The goat. Remember we always said 32:52 "the goats always say but. " "I'll do it, but... " 32:56 See? Just respond. You know that: Leviticus 16. 33:00 So at that point in time the people were clear. 33:03 They were clean. The sanctuary was clear. 33:07 It was clean. Whoo! It was perfect. Amen! 33:11 Day of Atonement. God's looking for people who will be like Him. 33:15 Perfection of character that He's promised to help us with. 33:19 The Bible says this service was performed... Notice 33:22 what the Bible says. This is New Testament 33:24 some of you New Testament Christians. 33:26 And some of you are just saying: "Praise God for that! " 33:28 Some of you are just the book of Acts Christians. 33:30 You need to take the whole Bible. Amen! 33:33 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God. " 33:35 Come on, somebody break out of that book of Acts. 33:37 I love the book of Acts, but I'm saying there's more to it. 33:39 Amen! The Bible says clearly that these things we've just 33:44 talked about were to the example of the shadow of 33:49 heavenly things. Did you read that? 33:51 Hebrews chapter what? Eight. Somebody say verse 5. 33:54 We're going to get really ticked again, all rightie? 33:58 After Christ's ascension, what did He do? 34:02 People say: "Well He went and sat on the right hand 34:04 of the Father. " Hey, He's not resting. 34:06 Why? Because we're not there yet. 34:08 He went to work. Amen! Taking His blood, as it were, 34:12 back that the Father may give approval for the broken law. 34:15 Jesus is standing and saying: "I'm pleading that blood 34:18 in behalf... " We are in that hour 34:20 that names are coming up in the judgment! 34:23 Don't we understand it? My brothers and sisters, don't 34:26 we understand it? I wish I could say something more. 34:28 Only the Holy Spirit can convict you and convict me 34:31 that names are coming up in the judgment. 34:35 We know it started with the dead what? Righteous 34:39 and the living righteous. Are you still with me? 34:42 Listen: those who haven't accepted Jesus, you're not even 34:45 in the picture. Is that true? 34:48 Not at this time. Amen! 34:51 Jesus is looking at those who are written in the book, 34:54 who said: "I love Jesus. " 34:56 And He's going to look in the book and say: "They said 34:58 they love Jesus, but can I apply My atonement to them 35:01 if they're not being obedient to Me? " 35:03 Walking around the way they want to. Talking and looking 35:06 and carrying on. Yes! Who can He apply the atonement to? 35:10 Are they entitled to the atonement? 35:13 So we look at investigation. We look at a work of judgment 35:18 that's going. I have people just get so tickled they start 35:20 laughing. "Yeah, there's an investigation going on. " 35:23 Praise God there's an investigation going on, right? 35:26 because you're going to see by the grace of God 35:28 because Jesus is taking your place that you can make it 35:30 to heaven. And that... whoo... I almost said joker. 35:33 I'm not going to say that. A person over there hasn't 35:34 accepted... Hasn't accepted Christ, right? 35:40 He's not going to make it to heaven. 35:42 Heaven's not going to be contaminated by sin. 35:44 Amen! You're not going to take that sin with you. 35:46 Everybody: "Oh, all we're going to take with us is our 35:49 character. " Then that character needs to be like Jesus then, 35:51 isn't that right? Amen! Yes! 35:54 No wonder all of heaven is concerned 35:57 about this mess down here repopulating up there. 36:01 I would be, too. We're worried about our neighbor sometime... 36:04 What kind of a? OK. 36:07 Don't tell me you're not. You are. 36:11 So don't you think the angels have a right? 36:13 God has a right to repopulate heaven that doesn't spoil the 36:17 peace and the beauty of heaven? 36:20 And if you don't want to go, He's not going to take you. 36:23 If you want to go, ooh! 36:25 All preparation has been made. 36:27 You might say today... There's 21 minutes. Somebody 36:31 quit messing with the clock. Look... No, I'm serious. 36:34 That's just not right. I'm sitting there it goes a lot 36:36 slower. I'm up here... Oh, my! 36:38 You might say today: "I am a new covenant Christian. " 36:42 Well praise God! You know what? I am, too. 36:45 Amen! I'm a new covenant Christian. 36:48 If you are I say: "Wonderful! Praise God! " 36:50 But listen to this: in the new covenant relationship, 36:54 right? new covenant Christian, 36:56 what happens? The sins of those who repent - 37:01 are you there? You have to repent - 37:03 are by faith placed on Christ. Did you get it? 37:08 and they're transferred into the heavenly sanctuary 37:12 and the cleansing must take place. You notice that? 37:15 Then there becomes a removal and then a blotting out. 37:18 So sin remains... even though forgiven. 37:22 It still remains until the time of the blotting out 37:25 which we are in now. 37:27 The blotting... It still... What happens if you say: "Well, 37:30 you know, I've done my part. " 37:33 I had a guy just the other day told me: 37:36 "You don't need to tell me about salvation, man. " 37:39 "I accepted Jesus when I was 10 or 12 years old 37:42 to be in my life. " And I said: "Yeah, what are you doing now? " 37:46 Amen! "Well, I don't go to church. " 37:48 "Oh, you don't? " "I don't read the Bible. " 37:50 "I don't read happy things but I'm going to be there! " 37:52 "You'll be surprised if I'm there and you're not. " 37:54 I say: "Yeah, I will. " Amen! 37:58 It's time for honesty. I'm not trying to... 38:01 You can't say that you're not reading, you don't love Jesus 38:03 and you're going to make it to heaven. 38:04 You can't say: "I'm going to be disobedient and break God's law" 38:07 and say you're going to make it to heaven because it's 38:08 just not going to happen. Don't let the preachers fool you. 38:11 Don't let the teachers fool you saying this kind of things. 38:14 I don't want you fooled. I care more about you! 38:16 I'll risk you getting mad at me like a lot of people do and say 38:20 "Oh, here comes that maniac again. Turn him off. " 38:23 I don't care. They called John that; they called Jesus that. 38:26 And they're going to call God's last-day people who are 38:28 really giving the message... "Oh my, these people 38:31 are strange. We need to get rid of them. " 38:34 Yeah. All right. They're going to have a fight on their hands 38:37 I can tell you that right now. Are you still with me, church? 38:39 Amen! Blotting out. 38:45 Investigative judgment. It's done prior to what? 38:49 The second coming of Jesus. 38:51 And a reward's going to be given to every man according 38:55 as his what? As his works. You read that in the book of 38:58 Revelation, have you? Chapter 22 verse 12? 39:00 Then we need to read it. According to your works. 39:02 How's your works by the grace of God? You're not 39:04 saved by them but you are saved, you're going to have 39:07 and I know I used "ed" and no- body tried to correct me on it. 39:13 Did anybody get that besides me? 39:15 Whoo, be careful now. We need to say 39:18 saving. And that's true... I admit it. 39:21 But you know, once you're saved as it were, you give your 39:24 life to Jesus Christ, it's supposed to stay that way. 39:28 'Cause the old man - he went down - and the old man died. 39:30 But too often we see the old man's face coming up 39:32 too often. I have kicked and stomped the old man of this one 39:35 and he keeps trying to come back up. 39:37 And every once in a while the head comes up, 39:39 I say: "You get down there. " 39:40 By the grace of God we've been covered. Isn't that right? 39:43 Old man's gotta stay down. 39:47 I can't give a whole lot of detail about things, but we 39:49 realize the sin, the forgive- ness... continued obedience. 39:55 We need to be afflicting our souls. 39:58 I still want to have time to talk about that. I hope 40:00 that we do as we go on. But what about? Remember? 40:04 We accept Him. Christians around the world... 40:06 we've accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Hallelujah! 40:10 We're covered by the blood. We know we need the blood 40:12 to cover our sins. So the sanctuary once again 40:15 points out what? They're covered; we're freely forgiven. 40:18 Exactly... but they're still there. 40:20 And they remain there till the Day of what? of Atonement 40:24 that we are in right now and then they are blotted out. 40:27 Well, what happens then if we say: "Well... " 40:29 We go ahead and live our own life and we do our own? 40:32 Is anybody with me? 40:33 We continue to do our own little deal. 40:36 Let me tell you exactly what happens, though, 40:37 if you still want to go ahead and do your own little deal. 40:39 Years ago I was. Let me tell you what happened. 40:42 Every sin that you have committed will come back 40:45 to bite you in the judgment. Amen! 40:47 You were covered, but because you didn't continue 40:50 to the end. Matthew 10: "He that endureth 40:55 unto the end the same shall be saved. " 40:57 There's a process here... step by step. 41:00 Dealing with the sin issue: that's what we're doing. 41:02 Most people don't want to deal with the sin issue 41:04 because the preacher is saying: "Just, well keep on doin' what 41:06 you're doin' and when Christ comes He'll make up 41:08 the difference. " Let me tell you: your character will not be 41:11 changed at the coming of Jesus. 41:12 Right now is your probationary time. 41:14 Let's get real about this subject! 41:16 I'm not trying to be ugly about it, but I don't want to 41:18 just mince words and try to make you happy. 41:21 We should be happy today. That's the truth. 41:23 Amen! Man... somebody shout. 41:26 I'm getting ready to go right now. I think it's beautiful. 41:28 Let me just read... You know these passages. 41:31 Maybe you've never applied them about someone who's accepted 41:35 Christ - once saved - and then they turn and live their own 41:39 little life. Remember the sanctuary always said what? 41:42 Covered and forgiven as long as you are obedient 41:44 and you walk with Christ. Yeah, we may fail along the way 41:47 but praise God I have a High Priest. 41:49 Isn't that right? The gates are still open; 41:52 probation. Isn't that right? 41:54 "If we sin, we have an Advocate with the Father. " 41:57 I like that 'cause it's a comfort to my soul. 42:00 But I realize the time is coming. God's saying: 42:02 "Come on, Kenny. I can give you what you need; 42:05 you have to want it. Come and get it. " 42:09 How many times have you heard that when you were growing up 42:12 at home? Supper's on. Mama said: "Come and get it. " 42:15 And if you didn't come and get it you were left out. 42:17 Your brothers and sisters ate it from you. 42:20 Now's the time to come and get it. He's offering it to you. 42:23 Let's read Ezekiel... you know this passage. 42:25 Ezekiel chapter 18. What happens to a person? 42:28 Remember he was saved because it says righteousness. 42:31 Righteousness is what? Right doing. 42:33 Somebody say right doing! 42:36 God's people need to be doing right. 42:38 The right thing by the grace of God. 42:41 You can't do it on your own. I'm a failure on my own 42:43 but with Christ I'm more than a conqueror and you are too. 42:46 Here's what happens to those who "once saved, I'm saved. 42:49 I'm under the blood... I'm covered. " 42:50 That sin is still there even though you are forgiven. 42:53 But the time is coming is you are faithful it will be 42:55 blotted out. If not, notice verse 24 of Ezekiel chapter 18. 42:58 "But when the righteous turns away from his... " Whoo! 43:03 "righteousness and committeth iniquity... " Somebody say sin, 43:06 come on... "and doeth accord- ing to all the abominations 43:09 that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? " 43:13 Whoo! "All his righteousness that he has done" - 43:16 when he was born again, when he gave his life to Christ, 43:19 when he said he was covered by the blood 43:20 but then he decided I don't want to be covered any more. 43:23 I want to go my own way and do my own thing - 43:24 what happens? "In his trespass that he has trespassed 43:29 in his sin that he has sinned 43:31 in them he shall die. " 43:34 Notice that. I wish that I could read that whole... 43:37 I'm going to read another one because some of you are just 43:39 not getting it. Same book of the Bible. 43:43 You've read this I'm sure. Ezekiel what is it? 33? 43:46 Oh, I'd love to read every one of those verses 43:49 from 9 on. I won't. Oh... pray for me. 43:53 Look at the last part, a couple lines of verse 12. 43:56 Are you there in Ezekiel 33? 43:58 OK... good. Notice what it says. 43:59 It says down at the bottom: "Neither shall the righteous 44:02 be able to live for his righteousness in the day 44:06 that he sinneth. " Read the whole verse. You'll see 44:09 right quick what it's talking about there, right? 44:11 A man who's righteous... he turns to iniquity. 44:13 All that righteousness is just gone. Verse 13 again: 44:16 "When I say to the righteous that he shall surely live 44:19 if he trusts to his own righteousness... " 44:23 "Oh I'm good; I'm going to make it on my own. " 44:25 Are you still there? "but he who commits iniquity, all of his 44:29 righteousness shall not be remembered. For his iniquity 44:33 that he has committed: he shall die for it. " 44:36 We have to continue our walk with Christ. Amen! 44:39 If we don't, everything is going to come up and bite us 44:42 in the judgment. And if you are like me, 44:44 you don't want all of that stuff coming back. 44:46 Am I the only one? The rest of you are looking pretty content 44:49 back there... pretty stuffy. 44:51 You want all that stuff in your past to come back 44:54 and get you and bite you? NO WE DO NOT! 44:56 We don't even want our neighbors and our friends 44:58 or our companion to know about it. Isn't that right? 44:59 Only God knows! Let's be real about this thing. 45:02 This is important right now. It's going to keep us out of 45:04 the kingdom. Amen! 45:09 Oh... praise God! I'm going to have to skip a few things 45:12 'cause I've just got to... Whoo! 45:16 Many times our position on the atonement 45:20 has been misunderstood. 45:22 Is that true? Many times been misunderstood. 45:25 And any time we have a discussion of the atonement 45:29 we need to take special... There's an importance here. 45:31 We have to make a distinc- tion between the Biblical... 45:35 Did you get that? The Biblical... and listen: 45:37 and modern theological use of the term. 45:41 I don't know if I care about the modern theological 45:45 use of the term. Somebody with me? 'Cause 45:47 usually people's changing things just a little bit. 45:50 I like the Biblical, right? I like the Biblical use of it. 45:53 OK, let me say it a little clearer. Some of you got lost. 45:58 We need to look closely at the relationship 46:02 between Christ's sacrifice - Did you get that? - 46:06 on the cross and His what? His priestly ministry in heaven 46:11 since His ascension. There is a difference. 46:14 A big difference. 46:19 A complete atonement must not only bring pardon 46:23 for past sins but it also provides man - 46:28 listen church - power to gain victory over sin. Amen! 46:32 This is what it's all about. 46:34 To gain what? The Day of Atonement is about the sin 46:38 issue! Doing away with what? Sin. 46:41 Getting it out of our lives so Christ can come. 46:44 If you want Him to come, why not just get down and 46:47 get bare with God? Lay it out! 46:51 This is the day that we're in. This is what it talks about: 46:53 they "afflicted their souls. " They did some soul searching 46:56 is what it means. You know that. 46:58 They did some real digging in saying: "God, is this really 47:01 the way that I am? What do I need to change? " 47:04 I mean how long has it been since you got on your knees 47:06 and said: "God, what is it that I need... I need to gain 47:08 the victory? " I may not even be aware of it. 47:10 You think you're doing good; you're riding on the high places 47:12 when you're in the low places. 47:15 That's dangerous! Lukewarmness of the church 47:18 nowadays... make a person sick! 47:21 A church of people... that's you and that's me. 47:23 I was lukewarm for a long time but praise God I don't want to 47:26 be lukewarm any more. I'm sick of lukewarm. 47:28 I want to be hot for Jesus. Praise the Lord! 47:33 He's still working on me. 47:35 There's hope if He's working on you. 47:37 Are you, church? Anybody here being worked on? 47:40 Some of you should say: "Man, I'm black and blue 47:42 from being worked on. " 47:46 And you have to be willing to get black and blue, if you know 47:48 what I'm talking about if you want to make it to heaven. 47:51 But I like this. It gives me hope and gives me encouragement. 47:54 I read this and I tell you tears dripped down my cheeks. 47:56 And I do that so often. 47:58 I don't know if it's age or if it's just it's really touching 48:00 my heart. And I want to be honest about it. 48:02 I want to believe it's touching my heart. 48:04 I say: "Oh God, how wonderful You are. 48:06 How beautiful Your Word is! " 48:08 Listen: no sin... no sin can be committed 48:14 by man for which satisfaction 48:19 has not been met at Calvary. 48:22 Did you get it, church? For those of you that think 48:24 you went too far out here... you've gone too far. 48:26 Oh! You read that in manuscript 50 by the way, written in 1900. 48:31 "No sin can be committed by man for which there's not... 48:35 satisfaction has not been met at Calvary. " 48:38 Calvary is it! 48:39 Calvary, Christ, the sanctuary, Christ's ministry in heaven. 48:43 His last work for mankind. 48:46 Do we need reconciliation? You'd better believe it. 48:48 Oh, I've gotta keep going. 48:51 God is just, and His justice requires that all imperfection 48:55 must be completely eradicated... put out of existence. 49:01 Check your own life. Praise God He's provided a way of escape. 49:05 I'm so thankful for that. I'm so thankful. 49:09 The plan of salvation called for Jesus Christ - the Day of 49:12 Atonement - to lay aside His divine power. 49:15 He took the human body. Did you notice that? 49:18 And listen: He took it in the likeness of sinful flesh. 49:22 Somebody still here? 49:24 Oh... I say this. A brother and I had a conversation. 49:29 Don't jump up and start scream- ing. I don't want to hear it. 49:31 Amen! Still love you and love the conversation, 49:34 but you know what? Christ did not have an edge 49:39 over us. Amen! He came exactly as we are. 49:42 That's why He can stand in my place. 49:44 If He had an edge, I can't buy it. Amen! 49:48 He came in the likeness of sinful flesh. 49:51 He came after 4,000 years of sin and degradation 49:55 where man was at the lowest point. That's how He came: 49:59 without sin. Pity is we're still fighting over was it 50:04 the nature of Adam before or after. You've got to be kidding! 50:09 I'm not trying to be smart... I can't get it! 50:11 I try to get it. 50:14 I know the same Holy Spirit leads us into all truth. 50:17 Come on... what's wrong? 50:19 Are we listening to the wrong spirit? 50:24 Christ demands perfect righ- teousness, His righteousness. 50:29 We accept it... we call it righteousness by faith. 50:32 What a beautiful message. Oh, we need to be studying that! 50:34 What's required of me in this Day of Atonement? 50:36 This is what it's about. 50:38 You say: "Well, I know all the ins and outs 50:40 and what they have. But what's required of me 50:41 in this Day of Atonement? " You know 50:43 only God's professed people we talked about at the beginning 50:47 the antitypical Day of Atonement. 50:49 The impenitent ones, those who are not caring about... 50:52 Those that have no regrets. They love the life that they're 50:54 doing and they're not caring about forgiveness of sin. 50:57 They're not even dealt with... we know that. 51:01 Please remember this: I want to cover this in 6 minutes or so 51:04 we have left. I mentioned at the beginning I thank 51:07 God for the atonement of ignorance 51:10 or not knowing. 51:12 It helped me even as an Adventist Christian to realize 51:15 God has so many good people - and He's had them from the 51:17 beginning of time - that didn't know any truth 51:20 but they served Him the best that they knew how. 51:23 They were ignorant of His law. 51:26 But... you know what? They still broke it 51:28 and atonement still has to be made. 51:30 Every sin committed is made right. There has to be 51:33 blood even though they didn't know it. You say: 51:35 "Well they didn't know it; it's all right. " God knows it. 51:38 It's written in the books. He's made an atonement for that. 51:41 Think about that... the Bible is clear. You can read 51:46 that in Leviticus 4 quickly and Leviticus chapter 5 51:49 read the whole thing. Numbers 15 you can read it 51:52 and then you can do it in Early Writings page 254. 51:55 Read about this quickly what it says. 51:57 "The atonement for the righteous living and dead 51:59 and for the sin of ignorance. " This means all who died 52:02 in past ages trusting in Jesus Christ 52:06 doing all that they understood to know as right 52:09 who not having received the light on God's commandments 52:12 they sinned ignorantly in transgressing its precepts. " 52:16 He makes an atonement for them. You'll see them in the kingdom. 52:20 That's why it takes 7 days to get there 'cause everybody's 52:22 going to be a Sabbath keeper before you get there. 52:25 Amen! Amen! That's right! 52:27 I know some just hate that. 52:29 I don't care. I think that's just music to my ears. 52:33 It just tickles my... Ooh! I like it! 52:35 You say: "Well, we don't worry about that. " If you're going 52:37 to be keeping it in heaven we ought to start keeping it now. 52:39 You see what I'm talking about? Sure you do. 52:41 Our duty... The devil just... 52:45 The devil doesn't want us to put away sin, brothers 52:47 and sisters, quickly. He doesn't want us to put away sin. 52:49 Think of it. What are we doing right now? 52:52 Are we still gossiping? Are we still backbiting? 52:54 Are we still lying? Are we still hurting others? 52:57 Are we still tearing the church apart? 52:59 Are we hurting the cause of God? 53:01 Listen: I want to read you something quickly. 53:03 You may think... "Oh you gossipers and back... " 53:05 No one here, I'm sure. I'm talking to whoever you are 53:07 out there. Gossipers, backbiters, and liars: 53:10 you troublemakers in the... God loves you. 53:12 He wants you in the kingdom but it has to stop. 53:15 You think: "Well, I'm going to destroy. 53:17 I'm big enough I'll destroy the cause of God. " 53:18 You're not big enough; there's no one big enough 53:20 to destroy the movement of God. 53:22 You may think so. You think you're tearing it down. 53:24 Let me read you something. Ooh, I got excited when I... 53:26 when I read this. You're going to do me a favor. 53:29 I'm going to go just plumb off of here. 53:32 Go ahead and attack because bottom line is 53:35 it's going to do you a favor in the end. 53:37 You say: "Well how could it do me a favor? They just tore me 53:39 apart. They tore everybody apart. " Gossiping, back biting, 53:41 and lying... notice this: 3 Spiritual Gifts page 145 53:45 and 146... notice what it says: 53:47 "If like Joseph we suffer slander, 53:51 false statements, and accusations... " 53:54 If we like Joseph... Anybody here ever went 53:57 through that? Amen! Not enough of you evidently. 54:03 Hey, 'cause it can be hurtful... it really can. 54:06 And it's almost if you don't have a hold of the hand of 54:08 Christ you're going to fall down. You're going to say: 54:09 "What's the use? " But let me tell you: those who 54:11 went through slander, false statements, 54:13 accusations... dirty lying words written... 54:17 Here's what it says: "Providence will overrule... " 54:21 Amen! Providence will what? Overrule! 54:24 "all the enemy's devices for good. " 54:28 There's a lot of dirty stuff out there. 54:31 A lot of lying trash out there 54:34 but God's going to intervene for His cause, for His honor, 54:37 and for His glory. God will... " Notice this: 54:40 "in His own time... " God help us to be patient... 54:43 "will in His own time exalt as much higher 54:47 as for a while they were debased by wicked revenge. " 54:54 People out there profess to know Jesus. 54:56 All the while wicked revenge is all that's going on. 54:59 But remember, however far that they tried to take you down 55:02 God's going to elevate you even higher. 55:05 But we have to stay together, church. 55:06 We've got to keep the message going around the world. 55:09 The church needs to unite together. 55:11 We need to give sacrificially. That way the message may 55:14 continue to go. And ooh! Don't we listen to gossip and 55:17 dirty lies. The truth of God is more important. Come on 55:21 church! Somebody needs to get with the program 55:22 out here. I'm serious! 55:24 If we believe that we're in the atonement right now, 55:26 if we believe that Jesus is coming, 55:28 we'll do some soul searching. I don't have time to be... 55:31 have my nose stuck in trash. 55:33 I need to have it stuck in the Word of God. 55:34 I need to see what it's like to be right with God 55:37 that I may help others get right with God 55:39 so that we can spend eternity together. 55:41 You have time to read junk and trash all the time. 55:43 Come on... let's get to the church like we're supposed to. 55:46 Whoo! What's our condition as a people? 55:50 A minute 40-some seconds. Listen: what's our condition 55:52 as a people? Let's just say it. 55:53 In the church may times sin is just downplayed. 55:56 It's covered up many times. 55:58 The doctrines are watered down and changed, 56:00 the teachings of men. Pride, hypocrisy, deceptions 56:03 on every hand. Love of self on every hand. 56:06 Love of the highest position. The love of dress. 56:09 The love of pleasure, foolishness, fun, games, 56:12 coffee and donuts! 56:13 Amusements. You now what I'm talking about. 56:17 But those sins have shut us out from the presence of God 56:20 and we keep resisting the Holy Spirit of God. 56:23 He will withdraw. He's God! He doesn't have to fool with 56:26 mankind. I thank God that He's willing to work. 56:29 But if you're not willing to work with Him 56:30 I'm telling you, friend: He'll get somebody else 56:32 who's willing to do it. Whew! 56:35 God help us, backsliding people! 56:38 We need to get with the program. Today we are in that Day of 56:40 Atonement. Jesus is coming. 56:42 49 seconds. I'm going to kneel down and struggle 56:44 but I'm going to pray again. You going to pray with me 56:46 church? That God will open our eyes. Let's pray, 56:48 shall we, together. Merciful Father in heaven, 56:51 I thank you for Your precious Word. 56:53 I thank you for calling to our attention today 56:55 where we're at in the history of this world 56:57 and what we as Christians in the Day of Atonement 56:59 need to be doing: afflicting our souls. 57:02 Self examination... get rid of sin. That means 57:04 I need Jesus. I can't do it on my own. 57:06 I need help. I hopeless; I'm doomed; I'm destitute 57:10 without Jesus. And thank you today that we 57:11 can find Him. And I pray You will bless each one here. 57:14 Thank you for the Word. May it enter into the heart 57:16 and the mind and never be lost sight of. 57:17 In Jesus' precious name the decisions that's made 57:20 right now. In Jesus' name, Amen. 57:22 Amen! God bless each and every one of you. 57:25 God has something good in store... hang in there! 57:28 Right? Keep this message going around the world. 57:30 God bless you! Amen! |
