00:01 "She will bring forth a Son,
00:02 and you shall call His name Jesus,
00:05 for He will save His people from their sins."
00:10 Celebrate this special season
00:12 by worshiping our savior and king
00:14 as we bring you Christmas
00:16 with Reggie and Ladye Love Smith.
00:29 Angels we have heard on high
00:32 Sweetly singing o'er the plains
00:36 And the mountains in reply
00:39 Echoing their joyous strains
00:48 Gloria in excelsis Deo
01:00 Shepherds, why this jubilee?
01:04 Why your joyous strains prolong?
01:07 What the gladsome tidings be
01:11 Which inspire your heav'nly song?
01:18 Gloria in excelsis Deo
01:27 Gloria in excelsis Deo
01:41 Joyful, all ye nations rise
01:45 Join the triumph of the skies
01:48 With the angelic host proclaim:
01:52 "Christ is born in Bethlehem"
01:55 Hark! The herald angels sing
01:58 "Glory to the newborn King!"
02:06 Come to Bethlehem and see Him Whose birth the angels sing
02:13 Come, adore on bended knee
02:16 Christ the Lord, the newborn King
02:20 Gloria in excelsis Deo
02:31 Gloria in excelsis Deo
02:56 When the angels have left them and gone into the heaven,
02:59 the shepherd said to one another,
03:01 let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing
03:03 which has happened,
03:05 which the Lord has told us about.
03:07 It's hard for us to realize that
03:09 our Savior walked this earth first as a babe
03:11 and then as a child who grew into a man.
03:14 No one except Mary got it
03:17 that he was divinity in his early years,
03:20 his sweet little Jesus boy
03:22 who is actually the King of kings
03:24 and the Lord of lords for the whole universe.
03:42 Sweet little Jesus Boy
03:49 They made you be born in a manger
03:56 Sweet little Holy Child
04:04 Didn't know who you was
04:10 Didn't know you'd come to save us, Lord
04:17 To take our sins away
04:22 Our eyes was blind
04:27 we couldn't see
04:34 We didn't know who you was
04:43 Long time ago
04:49 You was born
04:55 Born in a manger low
05:01 Sweet little Jesus Boy
05:07 The world treat you mean, Lord
05:13 Treat me mean too
05:18 But please, sir
05:22 Forgive us, Lord
05:31 'Cause we didn't know it was you
05:43 Sweet little Jesus Boy
05:50 They made you be born in a manger
05:56 Sweet little Holy Child
06:06 And we didn't know
06:08 Who you was
06:42 He was just an ordinary baby
06:51 That's the way He planned it maybe
06:58 Anything less and common
07:02 Would have kept Him apart
07:10 From the children
07:13 That He came to rescue
07:18 Limited to some elite few
07:25 When He was the only Child who asked to be born
07:36 And He came to us with eyes wide open
07:44 Knowing how we're hurt and broken
07:50 Choosing to partake
07:54 Of all our joy and pain
08:01 He was just an ordinary baby
08:09 That's the way
08:12 He planned it, maybe
08:17 So that we could come to Him and not be afraid
08:34 He was ordinary with exception
08:41 Of miraculous conception
08:48 Both His birth and His death were planned from the start
08:58 But between His entrance
09:03 And His exit
09:06 Was a life that has affected everyone
09:13 Who's walked the earth to this very day
09:23 And with no airs of condescension
09:31 He became God's pure extension
09:37 Giving you and me a chance to be remade
09:47 He was just an ordinary baby
09:56 That's the way
09:58 He planned it, maybe
10:03 So that we could come to Him
10:07 And not be afraid
10:17 So that we could come to Him and not be afraid
10:36 He was just an ordinary baby
10:58 We're so happy to be with you this evening
11:01 and to share a little bit at Christmas time.
11:03 It's such a special time for everyone.
11:05 There is a particular song that I've always loved,
11:08 it's so majestic
11:10 and we have some wonderful musicians here with us tonight
11:14 and first on the piano is Mr. Tim Parton,
11:17 you know him, a lot of you know him.
11:19 He is wonderfully talented and we love him.
11:22 Reggie, why don't you introduce our,
11:24 the rest of our...
11:26 Across the way across the snowy banks,
11:28 here near the heart warm fireplace,
11:30 boy, that feels so good,
11:32 it feels good, doesn't you guys?
11:33 The Burchfield's,
11:35 these are dear friends of ours from Nashville, Tennessee
11:37 and just so amazingly talented,
11:40 the band that we have here today.
11:42 And this is Mark Burchfield on the big old bass over there
11:45 and just a great...
11:47 They own a studio there in Nashville
11:48 and they played on so many records
11:50 and produced and just so much talent.
11:52 And they're married too.
11:53 And they're married, that's right, into each other.
11:56 Yeah, yeah, and so and then
11:58 we have Wanda Vick Burchfield,
11:59 and so many of you have seen her
12:02 on so many TV shows through the years,
12:04 a country music shows,
12:05 and she's played on so many CDs and records,
12:07 and I guess, have you ever played on record or CDs.
12:12 Oh, no unfortunately, yeah, I go back beyond CDs.
12:15 Okay, a record too, I love it, yeah.
12:17 And so, we're so honored to have them
12:19 and I hope you're enjoying.
12:20 They're wonderful musicians.
12:22 Tim, let's do that song.
12:32 Hark how the bells, sweet silver bells
12:34 All seem to say, throw cares away
12:36 Christmas is here, bringing good cheer
12:39 To young and old, meek and the bold
12:41 Ding dong and dong, that is the song
12:43 With joyful ring, all caroling
12:45 One seems to hear, words of good cheer
12:47 From everywhere, filling the air
12:49 Oh, how they pound, raising the sound
12:51 O'er hill and dale,
12:53 Telling the tale
12:54 Gaily they ring, while people sing
12:55 Songs of good cheer, Christmas is here
13:00 Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas
13:02 On, on they send, on without end
13:04 Their joyful tone, to every home
13:22 Gaily they ring, while people sing
13:25 Songs of good cheer, Christmas is here
13:27 Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas
13:31 On, on they send, on without end
13:33 Their joyful tone, to every home
13:40 Ding dong Ding dong
14:46 Mary, did you know
14:51 That your Baby Boy
14:56 Would some day walk on water?
15:01 Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy
15:09 Would save our sons and daughters?
15:15 Did you know that your Baby Boy
15:22 Has come to make you new?
15:27 And this Child that you delivered
15:34 Will soon deliver you
15:38 Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy
15:46 Would give sight to the blind man?
15:49 Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy
15:57 Will calm the storm with His hand?
16:01 Did you know that your Baby Boy
16:07 Has walked where angels trod?
16:12 And when you kiss your little Baby
16:17 You have kissed the face of God?
16:21 Oh, Mary did you know
16:34 Ooo Ooo Ooo
16:44 The blind will see
16:46 And the deaf will hear
16:49 The dead will live again
16:54 The lame will leap
16:56 The dumb will speak
16:59 The praises of The Lamb
17:11 Oh, Mary, did you know
17:18 That your Baby Boy
17:22 Is Lord of all creation?
17:26 Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy
17:34 Would one day rule the nations?
17:39 Did you know that your Baby Boy
17:46 Is heaven's perfect Lamb?
17:50 And the sleeping Child that you're holding
17:56 Is the great "I am"
18:13 Oh, Mary, did you know
18:29 "Be not afraid, for behold,
18:31 I bring you good news of great joy
18:34 which will come to all the people.
18:36 For to you is born this day, in the city of David,
18:39 a Savior who is Christ the Lord."
18:50 Said the night wind to the little lamb
18:56 Do you see what I see
19:01 Way up in the sky, little lamb
19:05 Do you see what I see
19:10 A star, a star, dancing in the night
19:15 With a tail as big as a kite
19:19 With a tail as big as a kite
19:27 Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy
19:32 Do you hear what I hear
19:35 Do you hear what I hear
19:37 Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy
19:42 Do you hear what I hear Do you hear what I hear
19:47 A song, a song, high above the trees
19:51 With a voice as big as the sea
19:56 With a voice as big as the sea
20:09 Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king
20:14 Do you know what I know Do you know what I know
20:19 In your palace wall, mighty king
20:24 Do you know what I know Do you know what I know
20:29 A Child, a Child shivers in the cold
20:33 Let us bring Him silver and gold
20:38 Let us bring Him silver and gold
20:51 Said the king to the people everywhere
20:56 Listen to what I say
21:01 Pray for peace, people everywhere!
21:06 Listen to what I say
21:11 The Child, the Child, sleeping in the night
21:16 He will bring us goodness and light
21:21 He will bring us goodness and light
21:26 The Child, the Child, sleeping in the night
21:30 He will bring us goodness and light
21:35 He will bring us goodness and light
21:48 And light
21:57 That was beautiful, baby.
21:58 Oh, thank you.
22:00 Hey, come over here
22:01 and let's join Mr. Tim Parton over here.
22:03 Okay.
22:04 And we have some special guest that I'd love to bring out.
22:07 Ladye, I don't know if you know about this special guest but...
22:10 I do.
22:11 We've got some really special guest
22:13 from our hometown and they're very special to us.
22:16 We've got Jesse right here from Franklin, Tennessee.
22:20 I've got my second son who is like a son to me.
22:23 This is Lawson Ivy.
22:26 I've to tell you this is funny,
22:27 his dad's a chief of police and his name is Lawson.
22:31 Get it. That's right, yeah.
22:32 They said, they didn't do that
22:34 but I don't know, Lawson.
22:35 But it works perfectly, Lawson, it works perfectly.
22:36 But this is our son's best friend Lawson.
22:40 This is my namesake Amy Love.
22:44 Amy Love.
22:45 Amy was born on my birthday
22:47 and her mom was so sweet and so gracious,
22:49 she was gonna be Amy Ann, right?
22:50 Yes.
22:52 She was gonna be Amy Ann and her mom called me
22:53 still in the hospital said, Amy was born on your birthday,
22:56 and we're gonna name her Amy Love.
22:58 And I kind of say, "Are you sure?
23:00 Are you sure?
23:01 Are your parents gonna be okay with that?
23:02 Are you sure?"
23:04 And it is so funny,
23:05 Amy and I have so much in common.
23:07 One day I was taking pictures,
23:08 I love to take pictures of sunsets,
23:10 and I was driving on the road and I...
23:12 Now, when she said she loved to take pictures of sunset,
23:16 she loves.
23:17 I love to take pictures. She is the Facebook queen.
23:20 And she takes at least
23:22 a hundred sunset pictures a day,
23:25 it's true.
23:27 But this is gonna cover my story then because...
23:28 Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, baby.
23:29 This particular time I had not done many sunsets,
23:33 and I took a picture and I send and I posted it,
23:35 and her mom said, okay, look,
23:37 and she send a picture back that Amy had taken,
23:39 the same exact picture,
23:41 same exact picture too that day at the same time.
23:44 But anyway Amy is my namesake and a very special,
23:46 and then of course
23:48 on the very end is our son Bret,
23:51 and Brett's very special too to us.
23:53 He loves to make faces.
23:56 Bret Reece Cleavon Smith.
23:58 Yes, and he is 13 years old
24:01 and we just wanted to bring these kids up here today
24:03 because they're special to us,
24:05 and we know that you have children
24:06 that are special to you.
24:08 And I don't know,
24:09 right now with everything is going on in the world,
24:11 just seems like there is the news is bad
24:14 a lot of times but,
24:15 this is a prayer that I'd like for us to sing today
24:18 with the future generation,
24:20 "Let there be Peace on Earth."
24:36 Let there be peace on earth
24:43 And let it begin with me
24:49 Let there be peace on earth
24:56 The peace that was meant to be
25:03 With God as our Father
25:10 Brothers all are we
25:17 Let me walk with my brother
25:23 In perfect harmony
25:30 Let peace begin with me
25:36 Let this be the moment now
25:44 With every step I take
25:50 Let this be my solemn vow
25:57 To take each moment and live each moment
26:04 With peace eternally
26:11 Let there be peace on earth
26:17 And let it begin with me
26:28 Let there be peace on earth
26:34 And let it begin with me
26:42 Let there be peace on earth
26:48 The peace that was meant to be
26:54 To take each moment and live each moment
27:01 In peace eternally
27:09 Let there be peace on earth
27:15 And let it begin with me
27:34 Great job, y'all.
27:36 Thank you so much for singing with us today.
27:39 Let's get a little casual here.
27:41 Come on down here by the piano.
27:43 Let's do a few songs right around the piano,
27:45 and we're just gonna be very impromptu on this.
27:47 Let's see if we know this one.
27:53 Away in a manger
27:58 No crib for a bed
28:02 The little Lord Jesus
28:06 Laid down his sweet head
28:10 The stars in the sky
28:15 Looked down where he lay
28:18 The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay
28:30 The cattle are lowing
28:34 The baby awakes
28:38 But little Lord Jesus
28:42 No crying he makes
28:46 I love you, Lord Jesus
28:50 Look down from the sky
28:55 And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh
29:06 You know what?
29:07 I want to say something right here.
29:09 So many times we forget at Christmas that
29:12 there are lot of people
29:13 who don't have great things like we do.
29:15 Just like a bed to seep in, a food to eat,
29:20 and we just kind of forget them
29:21 'cause we're thinking about all the things
29:22 we want to get, right.
29:24 What I want for Christmas and we forget that
29:27 there are children all around the world
29:30 they're watching right now even
29:32 that they just want to be loved.
29:35 Some of them don't have a parent.
29:37 They don't have a place to sleep.
29:39 And I love, love this last verse
29:41 because it talks about this blessing
29:44 all the dear children in the world.
29:46 Bless all the dear children
29:48 and let's sing this verse, okay.
29:51 Be near me Lord Jesus
29:56 I ask Thee to stay
30:00 Close by me forever
30:04 And love me, I pray
30:08 Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care
30:16 And take us to heaven to live with Thee there
30:28 I love that.
30:30 Let's sing one more verse all of another song
30:32 that maybe you know,
30:34 and I know we're just kind of pulling these all out on y'all,
30:37 but this is one that
30:38 hopefully you know a little bit,
30:40 we'll just sing the first verse.
30:42 Everybody at home if you're singing,
30:44 you can sing with us too.
30:45 You can sing as we're singing along.
30:47 Which one is this, Ladye Love?
30:48 And this one is Silent Night.
30:50 Everybody ready?
30:52 Silent night
30:56 Holy night
31:00 All is calm
31:05 All is bright
31:09 Round yon virgin
31:14 Mother and child
31:17 Holy infant
31:22 Tender and mild
31:26 Sleep in heavenly peace
31:35 Sleep in heavenly peace
31:42 And you know what? I want to do one more thing.
31:44 And, Tim, you can just play if you want to but, Amy,
31:47 could I ask you to read the Christmas story.
31:51 And I have this Bible right here
31:53 just in case you'd say yes.
31:55 And let's listen to the story.
31:59 "And it came to pass in those days
32:01 that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus
32:04 that all the world should be registered.
32:05 This census took place
32:07 while Quirinius was governing Syria.
32:11 So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.
32:14 And Joseph went up from Galilee,
32:16 out of the city to Nazareth, into Judea,
32:19 to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem,
32:22 because he was of the house and lineage of David,
32:27 to be registered with Mary, to betrothed wife,
32:32 who was with child.
32:33 So it was, that while they were there,
32:35 the days were completed for her to be delivered.
32:38 And she brought forth her firstborn Son,
32:41 and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths,
32:43 and laid Him in a manger,
32:44 because there was no room for them in the inn."
32:57 Silent night
33:01 Holy night
33:05 Son of God
33:10 Love's pure light
33:15 Radiant beams
33:19 From Thy Holy Face
33:24 With the dawn of redeeming grace
33:33 Jesus, Lord, at Thy Birth!
33:42 Jesus, Lord, at Thy Birth!
33:57 Hey, Tim, could you keep playing that little bit.
34:00 That was so beautiful.
34:02 Could you, would you mind playing the mandolin solo
34:04 and just take that on the Silent Night part?
35:16 Wanda, you don't know you just gave me a gift today.
35:18 You don't know this
35:20 but my dad was a mandolin player,
35:21 and that was such a gift when Reggie said,
35:23 would you do a solo on that.
35:25 I just felt like
35:26 I had a little gift from him today.
35:28 Thank you so much. You're welcome.
35:30 I know there are so many people watching this now
35:32 who are missing loved ones,
35:34 and I know that sometimes
35:36 Christmas is a hard time
35:37 but I hope with all my heart
35:39 that you can remember the good times
35:41 that you had with the people that you loved,
35:43 and take heart that
35:45 you will see them again one day in heaven.
35:48 And I pray that if you're lonely today,
35:51 that you would find someone to be with
35:53 or someone that needs help today,
35:55 that maybe you could just go down the street
35:57 and take something to your neighbor
35:59 or take a casserole,
36:01 we love casseroles in our house.
36:03 We love to do things like that in the south,
36:05 that's where we're from,
36:06 but I know all over you love that
36:08 because we've visited so many wonderful places,
36:10 and you've been so good to us,
36:12 so I just pray that today that if you're lonely
36:15 that you'll reach out and you'll say, okay,
36:17 if I'm lonely, someone else is lonely.
36:20 And so I can do something for someone else
36:22 and in giving you receive so much.
36:25 That was such a gift I received just now,
36:27 and thank you so much for that.
36:29 I just appreciate the kids coming.
36:32 They mean so much, they're special to us
36:34 so we wanted these specific kids to be here today,
36:36 and thank you so much for coming and being a part.
36:41 You know, Ladye, I was just thinking about it
36:42 as one of us play and that was just amazing
36:45 and I was thinking about Mr. JR,
36:46 that was her daddy's name.
36:48 JR, he was a World War II veteran.
36:51 And we went to Hawaii one time and he said,
36:54 well, I came through here to board the ship 50 years ago.
37:00 Well, it's been lot longer that now
37:02 but you know when he said,
37:03 we played mandolin right here.
37:04 And he just played them,
37:06 we would sit and play those hymns
37:07 there in this season.
37:08 You know what...
37:10 I want to say there is, every Christmas Eve
37:11 he would pick his mandolin up
37:12 and you would get on the piano
37:14 and we would play till midnight
37:16 'cause we're late night people.
37:17 Now here's the thing,
37:18 it wouldn't sound quite like Mr. Tim.
37:20 Yes.
37:23 Did she just said, no, I mean yes.
37:26 Yeah, it didn't but it's absolutely beautiful.
37:27 And my mom is not a late night person,
37:29 so she would be lying in the bed
37:31 and she'd be going, that's a good one.
37:32 Okay, that was good, that was great.
37:34 But you know what... And we would just sing...
37:37 We'd just sing Christmas carols and hymns
37:39 till and bring in then...
37:41 But, Ladye, I was just thinking about what you said, I mean,
37:43 you've seen a lot of times, you know,
37:45 this season a lot of people are sad
37:49 or maybe they're hopeless.
37:50 Yes.
37:52 Jesus said, He will never leave us
37:55 nor He will forsake us,
37:57 and He's promised us that, you know,
37:59 and who...
38:01 The miracle of the birth,
38:04 the virgin birth
38:06 and what that takes on, love wins.
38:08 That's right.
38:10 Love wins, it just, it just beat hatred every time.
38:12 Because there's a lot of bad things
38:14 right now going in.
38:15 A lot of people, a lot of hate in the world
38:17 but the love, his love is bigger
38:20 and will conquer all the hate in the world,
38:23 but like we've heard so many times,
38:25 Satan comes to steal and kill, and destroy.
38:27 Yeah. But love conquers all.
38:29 Love conquers all.
38:32 Ladye, I want you to... Can you join me right up here?
38:34 I want to do another number with you.
38:36 And love actually really truly came down
38:39 one Christmas to us.
38:42 It was the gift to us, a free gift to us
38:44 that we all can receive,
38:46 and if you're sitting there
38:47 and you don't know anything about this gift,
38:49 just please take hold of it,
38:52 reach out and grab it and hold on to it
38:54 because Jesus is ready to help you
38:55 through your hard times,
38:57 through the sad times
38:58 'cause those are going to come,
39:00 through the happy times and the joyful times.
39:02 Love came down on Christmas.
39:29 Love came down at Christmas
39:35 Love all lovely, love divine
39:42 Love was born at Christmas
39:48 Star and angel gave the sign
39:56 Worship we the Godhead
40:01 Love incarnate
40:03 Love divine
40:10 Worship we our Jesus
40:16 Offering what for sacred sign?
40:24 Love will be our token
40:30 Love will be yours
40:32 And love be mine
40:38 Love to God and to all men
40:44 Love for heaven's gift
40:47 And sign
41:02 Love divine
41:09 Love was born at Christmas
41:14 Star and angel gave the sign
41:21 Worship we the Godhead
41:27 Love incarnate
41:29 Love divine
41:36 Worship we our Jesus
41:42 Through our heart may His love shine
41:47 Through our heart may His love shine
41:55 Love will be the sacred sign
42:29 Ladye and I are from Nashville, Tennessee,
42:31 and we actually have...
42:33 We told you earlier
42:34 we brought some friends of ours
42:35 in the background here play the piano
42:37 and all the instruments over there
42:39 and the big bass there
42:40 but we have another dear friend of ours,
42:42 and we met in the studio, her name is Dr. Yvonne Lewis.
42:46 We did.
42:47 How are you doing, Yvonne?
42:48 Hey!
42:53 Yvonne, you know what honestly...
42:54 We met in the studio
42:56 and truly I know we've told this story many times
42:58 but truly we were little bit nervous about
43:02 singing with someone who would...
43:03 You know, singing background is different.
43:05 It is. It's an art.
43:07 She was nervous too. She does the same thing.
43:08 I was.
43:10 And equally you were little bit nervous about singing with us,
43:12 this country bumpkins from Nashville.
43:14 No, I wasn't thinking that.
43:15 I know what it's like, but you know what,
43:17 I know this Nashville girl but listen,
43:19 we're so excited
43:20 because we're gonna do a little Nashville number,
43:22 the country number.
43:24 I know that you were so excited
43:25 'cause it's your favorite genre.
43:26 That's true. Not really.
43:28 I want to sing with you, guys.
43:29 We're gonna do a little opera here so this is,
43:30 this is song we wrote 15-20 years ago...
43:32 Okay.
43:33 And the bands here are gonna strike out,
43:35 so on the courses let's just have fun with it.
43:36 And if you want to say hee-haw, then don't.
43:42 Okay, guys, we're gonna start on the fiddle,
43:43 it goes like this.
43:57 We just love the sights and sounds of Christmas
44:02 The mistletoe, the falling snow
44:05 Say the day is near
44:08 The thing we love the most about the season
44:13 Is knowing when the tree is gone
44:16 We don't have to stop our song
44:19 It's not just for one day
44:21 We can celebrate our yield
44:27 We don't have to wait until December
44:32 To tell the world the good news Jesus brings
44:37 His coming to this earth was our salvation
44:43 And on any given day
44:46 He can make us sing
44:48 The hope He brought that holy night
44:51 Makes it very clear
44:54 It's not just for one day we can celebrate our yield
45:03 All right.
45:12 We just love to hear the Christmas story
45:17 To share sometime with family
45:20 And friends we love so dear
45:22 So when the holiday is finally over
45:28 Its spirit shouldn't fade at all
45:31 Winter, summer, spring or fall
45:33 It's not just for one day
45:36 We can celebrate our yield
45:42 We don't have to wait until December
45:47 To tell the world the good news Jesus brings
45:52 His coming to this earth was our salvation
45:58 And on any given day He can make us sing
46:03 The hope He brought that holy night
46:06 Makes it very clear
46:09 It's not just for one day we can celebrate our yield
46:16 The hope He brought that holy night
46:19 Makes it very clear
46:21 It's not just for one day we can celebrate our yield
46:28 It's not just for one day
46:31 we can celebrate our yield
46:43 You did it.
46:44 You did it.
46:45 Awesome, Yvonne. Thank you so much.
46:47 Thank you. That was fun.
46:49 I love you, guys.
46:50 So you might like country music after all.
46:51 You know what, I might.
46:53 And make in threes. No.
46:55 Oh, no.
46:56 Love you, guys.
46:58 Thank you. Thank you.
46:59 You know, the beautiful song that was written O Holy Night,
47:02 Ladye Love,
47:04 and I just think that, you know,
47:05 there is, there is always a place
47:06 for O Holy Night in a Christmas special.
47:10 And if you want to join me on this,
47:12 please feel free to do so.
47:14 I think I'll just let you do this
47:15 'cause you do it so well.
47:16 I wouldn't say that but, okay, I'll give it a shot.
47:28 O holy night
47:35 The stars are brightly shining
47:44 It is the night of our dear Savior's birth
47:56 Long lay the world in sin
48:01 And error pining
48:06 Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth
48:16 A thrill of hope
48:20 The weary world rejoices
48:25 For yonder breaks a new
48:30 And glorious morn
48:34 Fall on your knees
48:41 O hear the angels' voices
48:50 O night divine
48:57 O night
49:01 When Christ was born
49:06 O night divine
49:14 O night
49:18 O night divine
49:29 Truly He taught us
49:32 To love one another
49:37 His law is love and His gospel is peace
49:46 Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
49:54 And in His name all oppression shall cease
50:03 Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
50:11 Let all within us
50:15 Praise His holy name
50:20 Christ is the Lord
50:27 Oh, praise His name forever
50:34 His power
50:38 And glory forever
50:45 Ever more proclaim!
50:49 His power and glory
51:00 Ever more proclaim!
51:21 That was beautiful, Reggie.
51:25 You want to talk about some memories that we have?
51:30 I just love Christmas
51:31 because I love to think about
51:33 things from the past too growing up
51:35 and the memories that were so wonderful
51:38 with our parents and our family, and friends.
51:40 Yeah, you know, I was thinking about
51:42 walking through the snow here,
51:43 by the way it's very cold but...
51:46 Where I'm from in Southern Mississippi,
51:49 we didn't have a lot of snow.
51:51 And this is pretty exciting to be around a lot of snow.
51:56 You know, I was thinking about
51:57 a great memory for me during the Christmas time,
52:02 Christmas season was,
52:03 my family first of all,
52:04 my mom and dad were both musicians.
52:08 Dad was a singer and choir director
52:12 at a little church there in Mississippi,
52:14 Moselle, Mississippi, the capital,
52:16 you've all seen it, you know, where it is.
52:18 It's a blip on the screen
52:19 but my mom played the organ and piano
52:22 and all the instruments that were to be played there.
52:24 My brothers all sang but,
52:26 every Christmas season we would go
52:28 and practice a cantata.
52:30 That's what we call them cantatas back then,
52:31 I don't know if they call them that anymore,
52:33 but we do this cantata from work print or somebody.
52:37 In our little choir we would get through it
52:39 and I'm sure we were doing
52:40 some squawking too along the way,
52:42 but it will be just wonderful
52:44 and it just meant a lot to us,
52:46 Mark, it really did.
52:47 It meant a lot to us, it was special to us.
52:49 My dad was a minister in music
52:51 and I just thought he could do no wrong.
52:52 He was my hero.
52:55 And he's still is by the way, he still is.
52:57 But you know what, Ladye Love,
52:59 we would go and we will travel and go
53:01 and sing into the shut-ins
53:03 and people who were having a hard time.
53:06 I remember right when we first married
53:08 that I actually went with you all
53:09 and we did that to the lady's house with all that.
53:10 That's right, you did.
53:12 And we would end, that's right,
53:13 we would end at the Norses' house.
53:16 Now the Norses' were fabulous,
53:17 a couple that had reared lots of kids,
53:20 adopted kids,
53:22 kids that had no homes they did it,
53:24 but she would make us chocolate,
53:27 honnou chocolate,
53:28 but you know it was fabulous, and we would end our night
53:31 singing for them and those kids every night.
53:33 That's a great memory for me.
53:35 We had some of the similar memories too.
53:36 We would go caroling to the shut-ins where I lived,
53:39 and one of my favorite some when I was very little is that
53:42 we would have Christmas Eve services at our church
53:45 and area churches would come together.
53:47 We would sing hymns.
53:48 I remember singing Silent Night in German, Stille Nacht.
53:51 Wow. Heilige Nacht.
53:53 And I just remember that was so wonderful to me
53:55 the feeling to know that we were all together
53:57 and we were just thinking about love that night,
54:00 about the love, Christ love, you know,
54:03 and the tiny baby being born, so that he could die for us.
54:07 And it was just amazing to me.
54:09 I also remember going to my grandparents
54:11 and riding in the back of the car on the way home,
54:14 and couldn't wait to get back home,
54:16 and couldn't wait
54:18 when we got there to be with my cousins.
54:19 And, you know, as I got older,
54:21 anywhere I was,
54:23 I could be in college
54:24 or we would be traveling singing,
54:26 I couldn't wait for Christmas to get home
54:29 to Christmas to my parents.
54:31 Yeah.
54:32 And they're no longer here
54:34 and this song was always so special to me then,
54:38 and now it's even more special
54:40 because, you know, what I know,
54:42 I know that even though they're not here anymore,
54:45 that one day we'll all be home together.
54:48 We'll all be home together and I can't wait.
54:52 And even though this is a song
54:54 that's not necessarily a Christian song
54:56 or religious song,
54:58 it evokes some memories for me that were wonderful,
55:03 and like I said, I'm dreaming of that place
55:06 one day when we'll be together again.
55:13 I'm dreaming tonight
55:18 Of a place that I love
55:22 Even more than I usually do
55:30 And although I know
55:35 It's a long road back
55:41 I promise you
55:48 I'll be home
55:53 For Christmas
56:00 You can count on me
56:13 Please have snow and mistletoe
56:24 And presents under the tree
56:38 Christmas Eve will find me
56:50 Where the love light gleams
57:02 I'll be home
57:08 For Christmas
57:13 If only in my dreams
58:16 Christmas Eve will find me
58:28 Where the love light gleams
58:41 I'll be home
58:47 For Christmas
58:53 If only in my dreams
59:06 If only in my dreams
