00:11 Doug Batchelor: Contrary to the popular belief that lightning
00:13 never strikes the same spot twice, it's actually been known
00:17 to strike objects, even people, multiple times during intense
00:21 electrical storms.
00:22 During one storm for instance, the Empire State Building in New
00:26 York was struck 15 times within 15 minutes.
00:30 Sometimes a single bolt of lightning will really consists
00:33 of as many as 42 discharges striking the same spot in such
00:38 quick succession that it appears like a single flash, but it all
00:41 happens in less than one quarter of a second.
00:44 Lightning from one cloud to another is also very common, and
00:48 it's been recorded to jump as far as 20 miles between clouds.
00:52 But whether lightning is moving from cloud to cloud, or cloud to
00:55 ground, or ground to cloud, it's hard to miss the brilliant,
00:58 blinding flash that illuminates the sky.
01:02 In Matthew 24, Jesus said, "For as lightning comes from the east
01:06 and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of
01:10 Man be."
01:11 In spite of His words, some still believe that His return is
01:15 going to be a secret, but what is the truth?
01:18 Join me now, friends, as we take a closer look at what the Bible
01:21 really says about the return of Christ.
01:28 Doug: I hope you've got your seatbelts on, because we're
01:30 going to be diving into some industrial-strength Bible study
01:34 now, talkin' about some of the high points of Christ's coming.
01:38 Our lesson tonight is dealing with the subject of the
01:42 "Coronation Of the King."
01:44 Now, I like history, it's amazing to me that Hernán
01:47 Cortés, Hernán Cortés and his conquistadors, when they landed
01:52 in Veracruz, Mexico, that with just 800 men, he went into the
01:57 capital of the city that had two-and-a-half, three million
02:01 people, there were at least 145,000 people living in Mexico
02:04 City at that time, and he was able to conquer it.
02:07 You know why?
02:08 In part because Montezuma and many of the other Aztecs had a
02:12 prophecy about these light-skinned gods that would
02:16 come from the east.
02:18 And when the Spanish came with their ships and the billowing
02:20 sails from east, they said, "Is that them?"
02:24 And then they're wearing their armor, they're riding on horses
02:26 they'd never seen before, and they thought they were gods.
02:29 And they marched right into the middle of the city and they took
02:32 the king because of false prophecy.
02:37 They fell, so we've gotta know what prophecy really says, or we
02:41 can be deceived.
02:42 And they were deceived by false prophecies, and that's a lot of
02:45 people in the last days, it's going to happen, false Christ.
02:48 Matthew 24:24, our Lord said, "False christs and false
02:52 prophets will rise and show signs and wonders."
02:54 Even if they do signs and wonders, if it does not go with
02:57 the Bible, do not believe it.
02:59 "To deceive, if it was possible, even the very elect."
03:03 I remember meeting my first false Christ.
03:06 I had just become a Christian, I was living in the mountains.
03:09 For a year-and-a-half, I lived in a cave in Southern
03:12 California, all by myself, way back in these mountains.
03:16 And this hiker came down the canyon and came by my cave,
03:19 which was right by the water, and I remember he stepped into
03:22 the cave yard, I had a yard.
03:26 He was about six feet tall, he had brown hair down to his
03:29 shoulders, had a beard, hazel eyes, good looking guy.
03:35 And he sat down and talked to me, he's going up in the
03:37 mountains, he's hiking along, and talked to me a little bit.
03:41 He said I am Jesus Christ.
03:44 Well, first he said I am Jesus, and I wasn't sure what
03:48 he thought.
03:49 He was acting a little odd.
03:51 I've got some Spanish friends, and their name is Jesus, maybe
03:54 that's his name.
03:55 I said, "You mean your name is Jesus?"
03:57 He said, "No, I am Jesus."
03:59 Well, I gotta really creepy feeling.
04:03 I was up in the mountains all by myself, and there's this guy
04:05 looking straight at me, and he's saying he's Jesus, and I just
04:09 read enough of the Bible to know that the Bible says he's coming
04:12 in the clouds and we're caught up to meet him.
04:15 And he said, "Don't you know there'll be many false Christs?"
04:19 I said, "Well, you know, doesn't the Bible say"--I didn't want to
04:22 hurt his feelings, 'cause what if he is Jesus?
04:24 I'd have a lot of questions for him, you know?
04:26 If he's Jesus, you don't want to offend him, that's really risky.
04:30 And so, I said, "You know, doesn't it say that, like, you
04:33 know, you're coming in the clouds?"
04:35 He said, "Yeah, that's right, but I'm meeting with a few
04:36 selected individuals first."
04:38 Make me feel special, you know.
04:40 And the guy, he knew some Scripture, he stayed in my cave
04:44 for, like, two-and-a-half days, and he ate all my food, and he
04:47 was a slob.
04:48 I had to clean up after him, I finally had to evict Jesus from
04:50 my cave.
04:52 And a few days later, I was down in Palm Springs, and I saw him
04:57 again, and he was walking down the street with this other tall
05:00 hippie, and tall hippie said, "This is Jesus."
05:04 So, he found his first apostle.
05:06 This is Jesus.
05:08 And then a few days later, I saw him and he was missing one of
05:11 his eye teeth.
05:13 He had offended somebody, which is not hard to do, I guess if
05:16 you're telling everyone you're God.
05:17 And I felt so much better.
05:19 I feel bad about his tooth, but I mean, I know Jesus has all his
05:22 teeth, and so that settled any doubts in my mind up to
05:25 that point.
05:26 So of course, there are people that are not clear out there,
05:30 and they say that they're Napoleon, and Cleopatra, or
05:32 Jesus, but what I'm worried about is the ones that are
05:36 smooth-talking wolves in sheep's clothing.
05:39 They claim, they say, that oh, I believe in Jesus.
05:44 "Therefore if they say, 'Look, he's in the desert,' do not
05:47 go out.
05:49 'Look, he is in inner rooms,' do not believe it."
05:52 We're supposed to stay away from and avoid, don't even look.
05:55 If someone says, "Look, Jesus is appearing on TV," I wouldn't
05:57 even change the channel.
05:59 Don't look, the devil's got hypnotic ability.
06:03 What will prevent the righteous from being deceived?
06:06 Answer, Isaiah 8 verse 20.
06:10 "To the law and the testimony."
06:12 Now, when it says the law and the testimony, that's the Bible
06:15 way of saying the law and the prophets, the Word of God.
06:18 The last Scripture in the Old Testament says, "Remember the
06:22 law of Moses, my servant.
06:23 Behold, I send you Elijah the prophet."
06:25 And in Revelation 19 verse 10, it says that the testimony of
06:29 Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy.
06:31 It's talking about the Word of God.
06:33 The word of God is a two-edged sword, you got the New and the
06:36 Old Testament.
06:37 And so, if they do not speak according to the Bible, how are
06:41 you going to tell the difference?
06:43 How many miracles they can do?
06:44 Can the devil do miracles?
06:47 You remember during the exodus, Moses threw down his rod, it
06:50 became a serpent.
06:52 Well, the Pharaoh's magicians threw down their rods, they
06:54 became serpents.
06:56 New Testament talks about a sorcerer named Simon who
06:59 deceived the people with his miracles.
07:01 So, you can't go by miracles, you can't go by feeling, can't
07:05 go by signs and wonders, the only thing is thus saith the
07:09 Lord, Jesus said.
07:10 We'll be judged by His word, so you've gotta read your Bible
07:13 for yourself.
07:14 So, what can we know about the time of Jesus's return?
07:18 We're going to go quickly through some what I think are
07:20 astounding evidences that give us some indication that Jesus's
07:24 coming is soon, and let me explain.
07:27 First of all, nobody knows the day and the hour.
07:30 Matthew 24:36, Jesus is really clear.
07:33 He settled that.
07:34 Someone comes to you and says I did the calculation and I know
07:37 the day He's coming, or even if they start telling you they know
07:40 the year He's coming, everyone's been wrong so far.
07:43 Lot of the world has lost faith in Christ coming because there
07:47 have been so many false shepherds that starts setting
07:50 dates on it.
07:51 God doesn't say He wants us to know the date, He wants us to
07:54 be ready.
07:55 How many of you wait until April 15 before you file your taxes?
08:00 Some people wait until the last week, don't you?
08:02 Wait 'til the end.
08:03 If you knew the day of Jesus's coming, you'd probably live
08:06 recklessly until a week before.
08:09 He wants us to be ready.
08:12 Now, we may not know the day or the hour, but did Jesus say we
08:15 can know when it is near?
08:17 You read in Matthew 24:33, "You also, when you see all these
08:22 things, know that it is near, even at the doors."
08:24 And friends, I think we're seeing those signs now.
08:27 Let's look at some.
08:28 For one thing, there's been just incredible increase of natural
08:32 disasters, and the planet, I think we all know that resources
08:38 are being consumed.
08:39 This is a graph, you can't see it very well, but the insurance
08:43 companies, they're not religious, they're just looking
08:45 at the exposure from natural disasters, whether it's water,
08:49 hydrological damage, or geological damage, or from
08:53 hurricanes or something, and it continues to accelerate.
08:57 And this is from, like, 1980 on.
09:00 There's a growth.
09:02 "National Geographic" published an article a few years ago where
09:05 they said half of the wildlife in the world, 52%, has
09:10 disappeared between 1970 and 2010, 40-year period.
09:16 There are other signs, moral signs.
09:18 Bible says evil men and seducers will wax worse and worse.
09:22 Jesus said as it was in the days of Noah, what does it say about
09:25 the days of Noah?
09:26 Violence filled the land.
09:29 Every day, more American youth die in gang violence than
09:33 fighting in foreign wars.
09:35 Isn't that kinda tragic?
09:37 It happens almost every day just in Chicago.
09:40 Then, more people die in Chicago in gang fights than in the U.S.
09:43 military around the world.
09:45 Overpopulation, here's just--I get my notes here real quick,
09:50 'cause some of these graphs are a little small for me to read.
09:53 Look at how things have changed with the population of
09:55 the world.
09:56 It took 5,000 years to get the first one billion people in the
10:00 world, 5,000 years to get one billion.
10:03 Then it took 123 years to get the second billion.
10:08 Then it took 33 years to get the third billion, that was 1960, I
10:12 remember that.
10:14 Then it took 14 years to get the fourth billion, 13 years to get
10:16 the fifth billion, 12 years to get the sixth billion, 12 years
10:20 to get the seventh billion, now we're at 7.8 billion people, and
10:27 we're losing farmable land.
10:28 There's just been a lot of natural disasters.
10:30 This can't go on forever.
10:33 And then you heard one of our people on the street, they said
10:35 we think the world is going to end with a nuclear bomb.
10:38 Even since they began the disarmament talks 40 years ago,
10:42 there's still thousands and thousands of nuclear warheads,
10:46 some of them from the fall of the U.S.S.R.
10:48 We're afraid they're going to end up in rogue hands.
10:50 And North Korea is still rattling their sabers, talking
10:55 about getting nuclear weapons.
10:56 Iran is talking about getting nuclear weapons.
10:58 And history has shown us that man has never made a weapon he
11:01 did not use.
11:03 That if enough time goes by, either through accident,
11:06 madness, or folly, there will be an incident.
11:10 It's a sort of a law of life.
11:11 I hope Jesus comes before that point, but Jesus said except
11:17 those days be shortened, speaking of the second coming,
11:19 except those days be shortened, no flesh would be saved.
11:23 But for the elect's sake, those days will be shortened.
11:26 For me, some of the most powerful prophecies are these
11:29 you find in Daniel 12.
11:31 "But you, Daniel shut up the words and seal the book until
11:33 the time of the end.
11:35 Many will run to and fro, and knowledge will be increased."
11:39 Friends, there has been no history, there's been no
11:41 generation in history like our generation that has seen an
11:45 explosion of knowledge.
11:46 My grandfather was born in Harlem, New York City, when they
11:50 rode horses yet at home, in New York City by candlelight.
11:54 In one generation, look at all the incredible transformations
11:58 we've seen.
11:59 Automobile, airplanes, penicillin, radio, television.
12:03 Knowledge is exploding.
12:04 Can you imagine trying to explain your smartphone to the
12:07 Apostle Peter?
12:11 "Say, hey, I just, I can Google it, what verse do you want?"
12:13 We have the whole Bible here.
12:15 Yeah, you want to talk to someone the other side of
12:16 the planet?
12:18 Here, I'll call them right now.
12:19 You can look at 'em and you can talk to 'em.
12:20 Can you imagine trying to explain the marvel?
12:22 We take it for granted.
12:25 You probably would be stoned as a witch if you went back 200
12:27 years and showed that to somebody.
12:30 Look at how the world has changed.
12:32 Knowledge will increase, Daniel said, and people will run to
12:35 and fro.
12:36 People are traveling more now than any other time in the
12:38 history of man, far from the place of their birth.
12:40 Here for me is one of the greatest.
12:43 "This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world for
12:45 a witness unto all nations, and then the end will come."
12:50 What's happening right here is exhibit A? While I'm talking to
12:53 you here in the Granite Bay area, this message is bouncing
12:56 off satellites up in the sky, and it is going around the world
12:59 via 3ABN, Hope Channel, Amazing Facts Television, as well as
13:03 other earthbound stations and the internet all over
13:06 the planet.
13:07 We've got people from all over the world said we're going to be
13:09 tuning into "Panorama of Prophecy."
13:12 And I've been in India several times where people are living
13:17 under blue tarps, but they've got a satellite dish pointing
13:21 out, seriously.
13:24 I've been in Africa where people are barefoot, but they got a
13:26 cell phone.
13:29 And just all over the world, Karen and I were in New Guinea,
13:31 quick story, and we wanted to go out in the jungle, our crew
13:35 that's in the back remembers this.
13:37 We wanted to go out in the jungle and get some what looked
13:39 like, you know, typical cultural footage.
13:42 We found a plant shack and a typical yard and garden, and our
13:48 translator said to the host people, "Would it be alright if
13:51 our guests get out and do a little videotaping here?
13:54 You've got a beautiful place."
13:55 She said sure.
13:56 We got out, we are way out in the jungle of New Guinea in the
13:59 center highlands.
14:01 I get out of the car, walk over and meet the lady, she looks
14:04 like she saw a ghost.
14:06 I thought she was going to have a heart attack.
14:07 She starts to jab and in Pidgin English tells our translator, "I
14:11 watch your programs all the time.
14:14 I never dreamed I'd see you in my yard."
14:17 And we gave her a hug.
14:20 That was so incredible.
14:21 They crank up a generator and they watch with satellite, or
14:24 they can do it on their phones.
14:26 We were in China, Amazing Facts was one of the few groups that
14:30 was allowed to go into Wuxi, China, and we did a meeting like
14:33 this on television, and it was broadcast.
14:36 And then they restricted things again, but we were able to get
14:38 in there and do 15 presentations.
14:40 We've seen the gospel.
14:42 Now we've got people all over the world, including China, that
14:44 email us, that are studying the gospel.
14:46 What did Jesus say will happen?
14:48 The end will come.
14:51 Well friends, this is happening right now.
14:52 The gospel is going into all the world, and I'm one, or Amazing
14:56 Facts is one of thousands of Christian ministries that are
14:59 preaching the gospel.
15:01 What will the angels do at the second coming?
15:04 "His angels will gather together, His elect from the
15:06 four winds of heaven," that means north, south, east, west,
15:10 "To the other."
15:12 Since we're living just before Jesus's second coming, how
15:15 should we relate to this solemn and this glorious event?
15:20 "Therefore be ye also ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an
15:25 hour that you do not expect."
15:27 Friends, we don't want to wait till the last minute before we
15:30 get ready for Jesus's coming, amen?
15:33 We want to be ready.
15:34 How can we be ready?
15:36 Jesus tells us, "Come to me."
15:39 Jesus is desperate to save everybody.
15:41 He loves everybody.
15:44 "For God so loved the world, he gave hHs Son that whoever
15:46 believes in Him might not perish, but have
15:49 everlasting life."
15:51 And no matter where you are in your life, if you'll just tell
15:54 the Lord, "Forgive me for my sins, give me a new heart."
15:58 Repent of your sins, tell Him what they are, He knows.
16:01 He wants to give you a purpose for living.
16:02 God does not want you to die.
16:06 Doug: Don't go anywhere, friends.
16:07 In just a moment, we'll return for the rest of
16:09 today's presentation.
16:12 Are you familiar with the prophetic signs of Christ's
16:14 return and just how close we really are to the most
16:18 extraordinary cosmic event in history?
16:21 Will we be suddenly and secretly raptured as millions are left
16:24 behind, or will Jesus's return be as loud and bright as
16:29 lightening from sky to sky?
16:31 Well, there might be a million different theories out there,
16:34 but there's only one Bible truth, and Jesus promises if we
16:38 seek, we will fine.
16:40 That's why Amazing Facts wants you to have the rock-solid facts
16:44 on this subject with our newest Bible resource.

17:11 Let's return to today's presentation and learn some more
17:14 amazing facts from the Word of God.
17:18 Doug: How will people be rewarded at Jesus's
17:20 second coming?
17:22 As I mentioned, there's only two groups.
17:24 He says, "Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with
17:28 Me to give to everyone according to his work."
17:32 You know, friends, if our sins are not confessed and under the
17:36 blood of the Lamb, then everybody is going to pay for
17:38 their sins, and the Bible tells us that the penalty for sin is
17:42 death, but the gift of God is everlasting life.
17:47 He wants to give that to everybody.
17:49 He says I'm coming quickly, and My reward is with Me.
17:52 Isn't that interesting?
17:54 I am coming quickly.
17:55 You might be thinking, "Well, Pastor Doug, why is it taking so
17:58 long for Jesus to get here?"
18:00 A day with the Lord is like a thousand years, and a thousand
18:02 years as a day.
18:04 Jesus was here 2,000 years ago, that's two days for God.
18:08 That's pretty quick.
18:10 And by the way, what's the average lifespan now?
18:14 Seventy-five, eighty, depends on what country you're in and what
18:18 you eat.
18:19 What does that compared to eternity?
18:23 You know, right now it's hard for me to believe that I'm
18:26 my age.
18:28 It went by so quick.
18:30 Someone asked Billy Graham, "What's the most amazing thing
18:33 that you've learned about life?"
18:35 He said it's brevity.
18:37 He says I can't believe I'm 95 years old when they asked him
18:40 this question, and he lived to 99.
18:44 He said the brevity of life.
18:46 It went by so quick.
18:48 So when Jesus does come, everybody's going to agree,
18:50 well, that was quick.
18:52 For most people, it will be too soon.
18:54 There's going to be another group.
18:56 What will the wicked say when Jesus returns?
19:00 "And all the kings," this is Revelation 6:15.
19:04 "And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men,
19:07 and the commanders, and the mighty men, and every slave, and
19:11 every free man hid themselves in the caves and the rocks and the
19:14 mountains, and they said unto the rocks and the mountains,
19:17 'Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits upon the
19:21 throne and from the wrath of the Lamb.
19:24 For the great day of His wrath is come, and who is able
19:27 to stand?'"
19:29 That's a big question, friends.
19:31 Jesus has given us these prophecies so that we can know
19:34 that He is coming back.
19:35 He came on time the first time.
19:37 You know, there are hundreds of prophecies in the Bible that
19:39 talk about the first coming of Jesus, and one reason that we
19:42 know that Jesus was the Messiah is because of all of
19:45 these prophecies.
19:46 We're going to look at some of them another night.
19:48 We're told what town He'd be born in, we're told all the
19:51 events about His betrayal the amount, where the money was
19:55 going to be thrown, how He would be crucified.
19:57 You read Psalm 22 where it begins, "My God, My God, why
20:01 have you forsaken Me?
20:03 They cast lots for My garments, they pierced My hands and
20:06 My feet."
20:07 All this was part of the prophecies in the Old Testament
20:10 to help us recognize when He did come, His word can be trusted.
20:14 Well, now He's given us hundreds of prophecies about His second
20:16 coming, why?
20:18 He wants us to be ready when it happens, friends.
20:21 What will the righteous say when Jesus appears?
20:25 "Behold, this is our God.
20:27 We've waited for Him, and He will save us.
20:30 We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation."
20:33 Friends, we don't have to be afraid of Christ coming.
20:36 The Bible calls it the blessed hope.
20:39 If you've got a love relationship with Jesus, you are
20:41 yearning for Him to come.
20:43 You know, if you're wondering how important a seminar like
20:46 this is, one of the last words in the Bible, "Even so, come
20:51 Lord Jesus."
20:53 The last words of the Bible bejeweled with His name are
20:56 saying Lord, come.
20:58 It was a priority to Jesus, it should be a priority to the
21:02 people here.
21:03 Now, some of us have been distracted.
21:05 You know, Christ warned us.
21:07 He said if that evil servant says in his heart my Lord delays
21:09 His coming, the Lord of that master will come in a day that
21:12 he's not looking for him.
21:14 Jesus warned us that before His coming, He shares a parable of
21:17 the ten virgins, they were all asleep.
21:20 Before Jesus went to the cross, the apostles fell asleep.
21:24 And much of the church is sleeping right now when the most
21:26 stupendous event in history is about to transpire, the coming
21:30 of the Lord.
21:32 The whole world's going to be shaken by this.
21:34 It's going to be as real as it gets, friends, and He wants us
21:37 to be ready, because it's like that sign out in front of the
21:41 Baptist Church.
21:42 It said, "Repent now and avoid the rush."
21:45 If we wait until we see Him coming, it'll be too late.
21:50 We need to get ready and stay ready, amen?
21:54 You know, I like history.
21:56 I think there's some important lessons that we can learn
21:58 from history.
21:59 I got done, I think it was last year, I read a book called "The
22:04 Endurance," and it's about the adventures of Ernest Shackleton,
22:09 this great Antarctic explorer, and he was sent on this special
22:15 transarctic expedition.
22:16 He picked out, he handpicked some of the finest men, look at
22:19 the advertisement that he put out.
22:21 "Men wanted for hazardous journey.
22:23 Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness.
22:27 Safe return doubtful.
22:28 Honor and recognition in event of success."
22:31 Everybody signed up.
22:33 All the men wanted to be part of that.
22:35 Well, he handpicked just the best of the best, and he took
22:38 those 26, I think there are 27 in all, including him, and they
22:42 went to go to Antarctica with the purpose of completely
22:46 crossing the continent.
22:47 They would be the first to do it, but it was an unusually
22:50 cold winter.
22:51 Their ship, The Endurance, was trapped in the ice, and they
22:56 basically lived on this boat frozen in the ice for months.
23:00 But the ice continued, the pressure continue to crush and
23:02 crack the ship.
23:04 Water started coming in, they had to transfer anything that
23:07 was of value outside onto the ice, and then they lived on
23:09 the ice.
23:11 The ship fell apart and swallowed by the ice, their sled
23:15 dogs that they planned to use to take them across eventually had
23:18 to become food, and the men realized they were starving,
23:22 they're eating seal.
23:23 Shackleton was an incredible leader of men.
23:26 He said our only hope is to drag our two lifeboats to where
23:30 there's water that is not frozen, try to get to the
23:33 nearest island, which was Elephant Island.
23:36 Incredibly difficult trip with these men dragging these boats
23:39 filled with their gear across this bumpy, ice-broken surface,
23:43 but they did it.
23:45 They put them in the water, then they had a harrowing adventure
23:47 getting over to Elephant Island.
23:48 They were so disappointed, they just had 20 feet of rocky beach,
23:52 everything else was ice.
23:54 Shackleton said we're going to die here.
23:57 So, he and five other men, he said we're going to go 700 miles
24:00 over the worst ocean in the world.
24:03 He said we're going to go to a whaling station on South Georgia
24:05 Island, we'll get help there, we'll come back for you.
24:08 He said, men, I will come back.
24:10 Be ready, 'cause the ice will open briefly, you've gotta be
24:14 ready to load up and get out.
24:17 He made an 800-mile voyage.
24:21 They actually survived a hurricane that took down a
24:24 500-ton ship, and they're in a 20-foot boat, five men, 20-foot
24:29 little sailboat with canvas over the top.
24:32 Their fur coats began to rot because they were laying in
24:35 water for days on their body, and they had hair all over them
24:38 from the fur coats, and they were starving.
24:40 They had just enough food to try to get them there.
24:43 The navigator, there should be a book about him, Frank
24:45 Whirley, incredible.
24:47 He with a sextant looking at the sun was able to take that little
24:51 ship across an Antarctic Ocean in a hurricane, and he found
24:55 South Georgia Island.
24:56 It's a little spit of land.
24:59 There's a whaling station there, but they landed on the
25:00 wrong side.
25:02 They had to cross these alpine mountains.
25:04 Only one other person has done it since then, and they had
25:08 almost no gear.
25:09 And he was so dedicated to saving his men that when he got
25:12 to the wailing station, starving, cold, frostbit, he
25:16 said, I need a boat to go get my men.
25:19 "I've left my men, I'm going back for them."
25:22 Three times he took ships and they got stuck in the ice and he
25:27 had to turn back.
25:29 Finally, in the fourth try he got there.
25:31 Now in the meantime, his men, they knew Shackleton would not
25:34 leave them, and the leader in the group said every morning
25:40 they would wake up, and they would pack their gear, and
25:45 they'd say we don't know, today might be the day when the boss
25:47 shows up.
25:49 And when they saw the signs one day and the ice began to open
25:51 up, and that was on his fourth day, they'd been there four
25:54 months waiting for him to return, he came.
25:58 And he said you gotta get in, we've got to get out right now,
26:00 the ice is going to catch us again.
26:02 And they hopped in the boat and they were out of there in
26:05 minutes, because they had been looking for him to come.
26:08 They were ready for him to come.
26:09 Friends, we want to--don't want to get ready when He comes, you
