00:06 Sermon #S033 - "Let It Go" - (Part 2)
00:19 Welcome to the Breath of Life Television Ministries broadcast with Pastor Debleaire Snell!
00:25 In today's episode, Pastor Snell will continue part two of the dynamic Message entitled: “Let It Go.”
00:34 Now, let's learn more about God's power through His Word.
00:40 Pastor Snell. And see, this is why friends,
00:42 you gotta be careful about what content you are allowing to shape what's in your heart.
00:52 See, you can't allow bitterness to shape the content of your heart because even when the spirit touches a bitter heart,
01:01 it gets hard against God. It's why brother, you can't let anger shape the content of your heart.
01:07 Because when you are filled with anger and a love appeal of the spirit hardens you against God,
01:12 it is why you can't let substance abuse shape the content of your heart
01:17 because it'll stand against God and make you harden against God.
01:21 It is why you, you can't allow fornication or homosexuality in a drive the content of your heart
01:28 because it'll function as a strong hold and harden you against God.
01:32 And see, I need somebody to understand that you've got to begin to allow something to reshape the content of your heart so
01:41 that you have, see some of us don't just lack the willingness to respond to God.
01:47 We lack the capacity to respond to God because we've allowed the wrong thing to shape who we are.
01:57 And so instead of acting like ice, we're functioning like clay.
02:02 But the good news for somebody today is that when I read the book of Jeremiah,
02:08 I hear the story of some clay that was formed wrong in a potter's hand.
02:14 But is there anybody that knows a potter that's able to do a work even with hard clay that's made wrong,
02:22 that he can make you over, he can reshape you, he can start all over again. He can do a new work inside of you,
02:32 but you've gotta be still and let him be God over your life. Are y'all hearing me today?
02:39 So the word says here in verse number five,
02:40 now it was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled and the heart of Pharaoh
02:48 and his servants was turned against who?
02:51 The people. And they said, why have we done this that we have let Israel go from serving us?
02:57 So he made ready his chariot and he took his people with him and he took 600 choice chariots
03:05 and the chariots of Egypt with captains over everyone.
03:08 And the Bible says that the Lord hardened the heart of the king of Egypt.
03:12 Now again, friends with this point, don't thank me irreverent or irreligious when I'm about to say this,
03:18 but but let it breathe before you form your opinion. You see, I think that if you're on the verge of something,
03:24 one of the things that has to happen is I think the wicked need the truth of the righteous,
03:30 but the righteous need the resolve of the wicked. See, I knew you're going to look at me kinda crazy when I said that.
03:37 That's why I said let it breathe for a minute. Let no no I need no, no. Did y'all read the word?
03:42 See, I believe that on our journey like that, literally the wicked need the truth of the righteous.
03:49 [Congregation: That's right, that's right.]
03:51 But the righteous need the resolve and the bounce back that the wicked have sometime it's crazy.
04:02 I mean your boy Pharaoh just won't let it go. I mean the harder he holds onto this people,
04:19 the more he fools around with these folk, the more debilitated everything in his life becomes.
04:27 You would think that when these folk rolled up out of Egypt, that your boy Pharaoh would close the gates,
04:33 lock the door and never see anybody called by the name of God in his life,
04:39 [Congregation: Right. Right.
04:40 But it's funny because when you read the book Patriarchs in Prophets, 228,
04:44 when my favorite writer literally says that after Israel had been gone for a little while,
04:50 she literally says that Pharaoh recovered from his fear. Oh Jesus,
04:57 That he recovered from his fear. He began to see the 10 plagues of Egypt as not as a result of natural causes.
05:07 And he literally begins to revive his faith in the gods of Egypt. And it's crazy friends of mine
05:15 because I'm looking at this thing that your boy Pharaoh, he recovered from his fear to do evil.
05:22 [Congregation: Yes
05:24 Okay, wicked. But why do the wicked recover from their fear to do evil? But we can't recover from our fears.
05:35 It's crazy how he recovers from an earthly disappointment. But guess what?
05:41 We ain't got no rebound from a little spiritual disappointment that we have every now and then when God takes too long.
05:48 And what I'm saying to somebody friends,
05:51 is that we've gotta get to a place where there is some faster recovery in the household of faith.
05:56 Are y'all hearing me today? Listen, listen. How many of us understand that you gotta read what Isaiah 43 and verse 18 says.
06:04 The Bible says remember not the former things, not even consider the things of old.
06:10 He says, behold I will do a new thing and shall you not know it.
06:16 In other words, I'm saying to some child of God in the year 2023, I need you to recover from your fear.
06:24 I need you to stop singing your sad song. Don't walk around no more this year talking about who wasn't there for you
06:32 and who lets you down and who wasn't there to support you and how many folk was against you.
06:38 Stop walking around talking about how strong the devil is and how he got your foot, his foot on your neck.
06:44 Is there anybody that still believes that greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world?
06:52 Is there anybody that believes that the one who is for me is greater than the world that is against me?
06:58 It's time for you to recover from your hurt to come out of some pain. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy oughta come.
07:08 Now can I announce for somebody your joy oughta be here by now.
07:13 It's been 18 years and you still talking about Tyrone, you oughta be talking about Michael.
07:21 Oh well y'all might quiet. In other words, it's time for you to recover by now and let it go
07:28 [Congregation: Amen]
07:39 And you know what the tragedy of Pharaoh actually is? Is that the resolve he had for evil?
07:50 If he ever merged it with the truth, he would've been the baddest believer to ever walk on the face of the planet and see.
08:02 And that is the tragedy. And sometimes in the household of faith where we only had resolved when we were in the world
08:10 [Congregation: Very good.]
08:12 But we ain't got none no more. Ain't it crazy? And y'all going to get mad,
08:20 but hopefully y'all are figured out by now. I'm not the one to do the cuddly kind of sermon.
08:27 Isn't it crazy how much resolve we have for evil, oh y'all looking scared,
08:39 And how little resolve we have for the things of God? Ain't it crazy? No matter how bad the hangover.
08:50 [Congregation: That's right. Laughing]
08:53 Oh, y'all can't relate. Oh, y'all going to do that today? Okay, alright.
08:57 No matter how, no matter how bad the hangover and all the curses
09:02 and errors that flowed out of it isn't it crazy that after about three more days,
09:09 we ready to jump right back on the wagon. Oh y'all brand, y'all so spiritual. I love y'all.
09:14 I mean y'all in it crazy how, how when we're dating in a relationship,
09:22 we'll endure all kind of abuses and all kind of craziness and all type of instability
09:27 and we'll do all kind of stuff to stay together even when your parents try to drive you apart.
09:32 And prayer can't drive you apart and the church can't drive you apart. Isn't it crazy how as soon as that couple gets married,
09:39 the first little argument of Tiff, they ready to walk out the door, act like they ain't never met each other,
09:45 [Congregation: Right. Right.]
09:47 Ain't it crazy how people can be so committed to playing the casino
09:52 and playing the Powerball no matter how much money they done lost over they life.
09:57 And yet we still skittish about giving God a faithful tithe and offering as if God is less reliable than the casino.
10:06 Oh wait, a church at today, have you ever seen somebody that will literally die with a lie?
10:14 I mean the lie is collapsing all around them. Evidence is coming left and right, the business is coming out on social media,
10:22 but they will literally die on the altar of the lie. And yet we got some that'll stick with the lie.
10:30 But we get skittish about preaching the truth of the living word of God.
10:34 Are y'all hearing me today friends? Ain't it crazy how one bad church experience,
10:44 one bad day of church and ain't never going back to that church again, but they start shooting at the club,
10:54 [Congregation: Laughing.]
10:56 And before they get the bullets out, the drywall, you're standing in line to get back in the next day.
11:03 Oh y'all might quiet. Oh I, oh I don't come to church cause I got hurt at church.
11:07 But you've been with him or her for 13 years and they step all over your heart and yet you still stay stuck with them.
11:16 Y'all hear what I'm saying? Isn't it crazy how these Ponzi schemes get all up in the church?
11:22 Y'all know what I'm talking about? All these Ponzi schemes where you sign somebody up under you
11:26 and they sign five people up under you and 10 people up under you.
11:29 What if we preached the gospel the way we got in Ponzi schemes where you get somebody after you and they gotta sign up
11:38 somebody after them and they gotta sign up our people And Jesus is at the head of the pyramid.
11:44 [Congregation: Yes]
11:51 And what I'm saying is maybe I'm saying this wrong, maybe we don't need the resolve of the wicked.
11:59 We need the resolve we had when we were wicked.
12:02 [Congregation: Oh]
12:04 Oh that was a better way to say it. Amen. I need you to have some of that strength. No, let me say it as the
12:09 kids keep that same energy
12:11 [Congregation: Amen.]
12:13 That you had when you was in the streets. Now that you are in the way of Jesus Christ.
12:19 Are y'all hearing the pastor today? In other words, man,
12:22 we done lost all our resolve now that we in the house of the household of faith, in other words friends,
12:27 that when you come into faith that God doesn't want to change your resolve, he just wants to change your beliefs.
12:34 He just wants to change your mentality. He simply wants to repurpose that energy
12:39 and take what the devil meant for bad and turn it around and use it for good.
12:45 In other words, there is somebody today that literally used to sing in the bar and in the tavern,
12:51 don't lose that resolve, keep that same energy and bring it to the praise team and the choir
12:57 and use that voice to glorify God. There were some that used to be that bad kid that drew other kids out of the church.
13:05 Keep that same energy and be a deacon or an usher and open the door and help people get into the church of the living God.
13:14 There are some of us that used to be bad in the streets. You used to be knocking cats over laying hands on cats.
13:20 I need you to keep that same energy. Get on the security team at church.
13:26 [Congregation: Yes. Clapping.]
13:28 You thought you didn't have no ministry. We need a little crazy, we need a little Detroit,
13:33 we need a little Birmingham, we need a little Cleveland, we need a little Chicago. Keep that same energy.
13:46 Are y'all hearing me repurpose it and use it for the glory of God?
13:53 See, I need you to know that you thought you was under all the way under the devil in the streets.
13:59 God was just letting you practice,
14:01 [Congregation: Yes]
14:03 You practice in the projects for the day. These shepherd's rods came up there to church.
14:15 And what I'm saying to somebody today is that God, see if I is,
14:22 see, the reason some of us ain't got no resolve from our yester year is we are too ashamed of where we come from.
14:31 But can I test to some testify today that maybe you oughta be ashamed of what some of the stuff you used to do,
14:37 but you ought not be ever, ever be ashamed of where God has brought you from.
14:42 See, the reason certain folk think they can't be godly Bobby is because they only see you in your current state.
14:56 [Congregation: Right.]
14:58 See, and this is why there's gotta be testimony in the church and every testimony can't be.
15:03 I've always loved law God ever since I was a child, there's gotta be some testimony that says, man, I was stuck on stupid.
15:12 I was broken, I was lost, I was wretched and I was undone Like back in the day. Oh y'all, y'all ah,
15:20 don't fake with the pastor today. Listen, I know your bibles are big today and your skirts are long now
15:26 and you quoting the scripture, but tell the truth and shame the devil. There are some of us that used to drink
15:32 and curse and for some of y'all it ain't even used to,
15:37 [Congregation: Yes]
15:39 Come on and tell the truth. The Lord has brought you a might long way. You used to live with your boyfriend,
15:45 you used to shack up in the dormitory. Come on now your oldest child, you've been married 20 years,
15:51 but your oldest child is 23,
15:53 [Congregation: Laughing]
15:56 Are y'all hearing the past today? And what I'm saying is that you don't glory in yester years,
16:02 but what your story teaches is that godliness is attainable for everybody who is where you used to be.
16:14 [Congregation: Yes]
16:16 Are y'all hearing what I'm saying? It's crazy because like you ain't, and you ain't have to be out there doing all that.
16:23 Maybe you just got delivered from being self-righteous.
16:28 [Congregation: Yes]
16:30 Maybe you got deliberate from Phariseeism. Do you realize that a pharisee is just as lost as a crack head?
16:37 [Congregation: Yes]
16:41 You've been delivered by grace. You just took a different train in order to get here.
16:47 But is there anybody that's thankful that grace has saved some from sin, saved others from self-righteousness?
16:53 But it doesn't matter what I've been saved from, I'm just thankful that I'm saved in Jesus.
17:00 [Congregation: Yes]
17:04 Last thing is teachers, friends is when you're on the verge of something,
17:09 there's going to always be an attempted repossession.
17:15 [Congregation: That's right.]
17:17 So Pharaoh's initial assption is that they just ain't going to be able to make it on their own.
17:24 But then he literally takes on a posture that says, okay, if they ain't going to come back, I'm going to go get what's mine.
17:32 And it's crazy how Pharaoh, who in many ways you realize if you read kind of New Testament that Pharaoh is a tight or a
17:39 foreshadowing of Satan and sin and that Jesus is a type or a symbol of Jesus and the work of salvation.
17:46 Are y'all hearing me today friends? And it's crazy because Pharaoh sees them as his property.
17:53 The devil literally thinks he owns the deed to your soul. It is why he refuses to let you go and see the other reason.
18:01 It's crazy cause see, Pharaoh wants you to think you need him. But see, one of the reasons Pharaoh goes to get them is
18:07 because now that they gone
18:10 [Congregation: Right. Yeah,]
18:12 He realized just how bad he needed them,
18:15 [Congregation: Right.]
18:17 It's crazy cause they only been gone for like a few days from Egypt, they haven't made it to Canaan.
18:26 They're still on the verge of deliverance,
18:30 [Congregation: Right.]
18:32 Okay. See they're in an interesting space and I'm almost done. See, because they haven't gotten all the way into Canaan.
18:39 Are y'all hear me? They are still traveling. They're see, see they're on the verge of deliverance.
18:47 But see, when you're on the verge of deliverance, you are simultaneously on the verge of being recaptured.
18:56 So you've gotta manage that space very cautiously and very well
19:01 because just as much as you're on the verge of seeing God break the yoke and pull you out of some things that
19:09 because you're on the verge, if you don't manage it right,
19:12 you can wind up right back in and what God just brought you out of, are y'all here in the pastor today?
19:20 Now the reason they gotta manage this, right? The reason they can't get scared and go back to Egypt,
19:25 do you realize how hard and how cruel the bondage will be the next time?
19:35 I mean, Pharaoh won't let them breathe. I mean there, will be suffocating bondage if they go back again.
19:44 And why am I saying this to the body of Christ? There are some of us that have made some commitments in this new year.
19:50 We've made it a point to begin some new habits and to begin some new patterns.
19:55 And the good news is that some of us are seeing some early progress.
19:59 There are some students that have made it up in their mind that I'm going to get to class on time
20:03 and I'm going to study in advance and not procrastinate.
20:06 There are some of us that are joining us in the early morning prayer services
20:10 and you're seeing breakthroughs in your prayer life. There are some of us,
20:14 you've lost those first three or four pounds and you're starting to look good in that dress.
20:18 And there are some of us that are literally getting to a place where the taste for certain things is beginning to dissipate.
20:24 But be careful about being on the verge. Don't let your guard down because how many of us know this spirit might be willing,
20:33 but do I have a witness that the flesh is weak? And you've got to make sure you leverage your progress,
20:40 that you leverage your moment, that you don't let your guard down. Because if you go back to Egypt,
20:48 The bondage is going to be even more severe the next go round. So some have been making progress with their sobriety.
20:58 Listen, do not put your guard down because the next time you have to start over again, it's going to be that much harder.
21:07 There are some of us men that are making advances in our prayer life,
21:10 but then if you go back under Satanic bondage, just, learning how to get one prayer through is going to be that much harder.
21:16 There are some of us that are trying to get in the rhythm of eating, right? But if you have that one trip to crispy cream,
21:22 [Congregation: Laughing]
21:25 Listen, I ain't told y'all, but like sometimes in the morning if I'm driving down Memorial Parkway,
21:28 I literally will turn on another street. Come on that hot. Now sign calls to you. Come on in, say Amen.
21:39 It calls to you. I'm going to tell you I heard it say my name.
21:43 [Congregation: Laughing.]
21:46 It was like Debleaire, Y'all use the female voice. Sounded like my wife. Y'all, not here,
21:53 [Congregation: Laughing.]
22:03 And it's crazy. And it's, it's a strange way to say it. This is how you know as a child of God, you have value.
22:13 [Congregation: Yes.]
22:14 You know how you know you have value by how hard the devil tries to keep you where you are.
22:27 See, he spent his whole life. I mean, again, it's like an abusive relationship trying to beat you down, wear you down,
22:33 overwhelm you, kick you to the curb, make you think you ain't nothing why? To keep you from knowing your real value
22:45 because you realize that if you wasn't nothing like your parents told you,
22:48 or if you wasn't going to be nothing like your auntie said, you know,
22:52 if you going to always just wind up and beat just like your daddy,
22:54 like somebody said...if the devil really believed that he wouldn't try so hard to keep you where you are,
23:01 [Congregation: Right!]
23:03 So that when you look at the story of the exodus in the Passover,
23:06 there are two things that show Israel's value. Number one, how hard Pharaoh tried to keep them,
23:13 and two, the price that the lamb paid to free them. And there's somebody today who is on the verge of something.
23:28 And, for some maybe it's academic, for some it's professional, maybe for some it's with your business.
23:33 I'm hoping that for all of us, all of us spiritually are on the verge of something.
23:40 Whether you are first coming into the way or whether you've been in the way for a long time,
23:44 like how many of us need to make it up in your, in our mind and say, man, listen,
23:47 this year I'm going to have some new victories in my life. Like, some of us hadn't overcome nothing in a decade.
23:57 And God is saying to somebody, you're on the verge of something. You going to come out of petty this year.
24:06 You going to tame your tongue this year. You, going to learn how to have greater faith this year.
24:10 You going to go deeper in prayer this year? You, are on the verge of something.
24:14 But when you're on the verge of something great for God, you gotta plant.
24:17 Listen, listen literally what God says to Moses, you ought to anticipate being underestimated.
24:23 That's why you shouldn't have to tell everybody your dreams because if they didn't hear what God said in private,
24:30 then they can't affirm it in public.
24:33 Are y'all hearing what the pastor's saying today? You gotta prepare to be underestimated.
24:38 So if y'all ain't banking at the same location, don't even process that deposit.
24:44 There's somebody that needs to understand that,
24:47 a part of your journey this year is you got to start managing what's shaping your heart a little bit differently.
24:58 See the reason some of us don't melt when God calls, the reason that some of us can't respond to the call of God is
25:12 because of what is driving and shaping the content of the heart. So that when God draws in love in just a few minutes,
25:22 there's some that going melt like ice. Then there's somebody else that's going to get as hard as clay.
25:29 And you gotta make it up in your mind to say,
25:31 I'm going to change what is driving the content of my spirit so that I can be who God has called me to be.
25:37 And I want to say to somebody who made a commitment to 2023, you made a commitment to start over, to reset.
25:44 I need you to know Pharaoh's coming.
25:47 There's going to always be an attempted repossession. But I want you to do as Paul says in Philippians 2,
25:53 put those things that are in the past behind and reach forward to those things that are before.
25:58 How many of us believe we're on the verge of something today? You're saying, I'm going forward in Christ,
26:03 I'm overcoming in Christ. I'm not going back the way I came. I refuse to remain the same.
26:08 I realize that greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.
