00:06 #S060 - Smoked Out (Part 1)
00:19 Welcome to the Breath of life television ministries broadcast
00:23 with Pastor Debleaire Snell
00:25 Now in today's episode,
00:27 Pastor Debleaire Snell will continue
00:29 part two of the powerful message titled Smoked Out.
00:34 Now let's go deeper into the word of God.
00:38 You see, just like being in a garage, don't make you a car.
00:43 Being in church don't make you a Christian.
00:47 How many of us understand the same way
00:48 meeting somebody at the bank? It don't mean they got money.
00:52 Many come out in a gym, don't mean that they're in shape.
00:56 Are meeting somebody in the grocery store.
00:57 It don't mean they come.
00:58 You still got to know what's inside of them.
01:02 And see.
01:03 The problem is we began to put down our guards
01:05 just because they attend church or because they're at in name.
01:10 In other words, it's
01:11 not just enough that they have the right appearance
01:14 and you meet them in the right location.
01:15 You got to see what's living inside of them.
01:21 It's crazy.
01:22 I remember I do a lot of preaching in this.
01:25 I was at this one particular conference event and.
01:27 This particular hotel.
01:28 It was a resort and it was also a golf location.
01:33 Now, I need you to be clear
01:34 that your pastor don't play golf at all.
01:37 And it's crazy because I knew it was a golf place. So.
01:40 So somebody had gifted me a golf shirt
01:41 one time, and my man Jeff
01:43 had given me these golf socks and these little golf gloves.
01:47 And so, man,
01:47 I decided that
01:48 one day when I got a break, I was going to go out there
01:49 and just, you know, play me a little time on the golf range.
01:53 And so I need you to go out there, man.
01:54 I don't play golf at all, but I ain't got it.
01:56 You will not be able to tell by looking at me.
01:58 I am playing the part to the tee
02:02 and so I'm out there, man of the golf range.
02:04 And so next to me there were these three guys
02:06 that were waiting for their fourth person to show up.
02:09 But then he called and said that they could
02:10 he couldn't make it.
02:11 And so they were looking for a fourth person
02:14 so they could play two on two.
02:15 And so they saw me in my golf shirt
02:19 and my golf shoes and my socks
02:22 and they was like, Yo, bro, do you want to come play
02:25 some kind of like, Nah, bro,
02:26 you probably don't want to do that. Let me stay over here.
02:30 They just like, no, brought you here in the res.
02:33 We're looking at your little Callaway shirt and your socks.
02:36 Man, we know you can do this.
02:37 I'm like, now you straight and then white man, bro.
02:39 Come on and play, man. We'll cover y'all round.
02:41 That's all right. Let's go in and do this thing.
02:45 And now.
02:45 Now, I need you to know that all they did
02:47 was focus on where they met me and what I was wearing.
02:50 But they didn't see me swing.
02:54 Now, I need you to get that.
02:55 When we get out there, start playing.
02:57 This dude is like a machine gun.
02:58 I'm just spraying that joint all over the place,
03:03 and it's crazy because now
03:04 I'm on a team with one of these brothers,
03:06 and because we're in a pair, I'm bringing his score down.
03:10 And after,
03:10 like, three holes,
03:11 he's like, Bro, if you got something else
03:13 to do, it's okay if you need to go.
03:15 Oh, we know you didn't really want to play.
03:18 Oh, this might not necessarily be up for you.
03:21 I was like, Nah, brother, this round is paid for.
03:23 I got 14 holes left.
03:25 You can't get rid of me. Yeah, you hear what I'm saying?
03:29 And see,
03:30 sometimes we get comfortable because of how they come across
03:34 and where we met them, but we ain't seen their swing
03:39 and we want to get rid of them.
03:40 After three months, I met three holes.
03:44 But it's too late. Then
03:48 second thing this teachers friends of mine
03:50 is that Jesus forces things into the open.
03:57 So the devil comes to church
04:00 and this church is filled with nothing
04:02 but lifeless, sterile, cold religious ceremony.
04:06 So he gets there early.
04:08 In order to make sure he gets his seat,
04:11 he wants to make sure that nobody else sits on his roof.
04:15 And again, I need you to be clear that
04:16 this devil is not this deranged lunatic foaming at the mouth.
04:22 He is well-groomed, he is well-spoken.
04:24 It is literally he is a fixture here
04:27 in this particular church community.
04:29 And I need you to get that.
04:29 His goal
04:31 is essentially to make sure that he sits through this service.
04:34 In fact, when he notices that the Lord of Glory is there,
04:38 he's just got to make sure that he maintains his artifice.
04:41 Because understand.
04:42 That artifice is his strength,
04:44 that covert operation is what gives him his advantage.
04:48 So his goal is just to sit there as quietly as he can
04:52 and come back again on a week that Jesus does not show up.
04:58 And it's crazy because the Bible says
05:01 that Jesus begins to preach
05:07 the Word
05:10 and He does not preach it
05:11 in the cold, lifeless ways of the scribes.
05:15 But the Bible says
05:16 that Jesus preaches this thing with authority
05:21 and understand church that I am a fan of oration
05:24 specifically of great preaching.
05:25 In fact,
05:26 man, if I could,
05:27 I would love to see Martin Luther King
05:29 communicate the gospel in his heyday.
05:33 If I could, I would love to be there.
05:35 When John the Baptist preached
05:37 with such authority that the folk left the city
05:40 and went out into the sticks
05:41 to get a word from John the Baptist.
05:44 But of all the folk that have ever spoken,
05:46 I wish I could have been there to hear Jesus preach
05:52 and understand
05:54 what makes Jesus powerful is he didn't just preach the word.
06:03 He was the word.
06:07 The Bible says in the beginning was the word,
06:11 and the word was with God and the word was God
06:14 and the word became flesh
06:16 and made Himself mobile and walked around us
06:21 and understand that most of us
06:22 have to preach a word
06:24 that comes from outside of us and goes through us.
06:27 But because he is the word,
06:29 he doesn't have to get the word from the outside.
06:32 Oh, Jesus had to do is unzip
06:36 and the word just came flowing out of him.
06:41 Now I need you to know, not only does the word flow
06:44 out of our Lord and Savior,
06:46 I need you to know Helen White and deserve a
06:49 just literally says that when Jesus was here on the Earth
06:52 that He carried around in Him the entire atmosphere.
06:55 Sphere of heaven.
06:56 Colossians chapter two says that in him
06:59 dwelt the fullness of the Godhead bodily,
07:02 so that as Jesus preaches,
07:04 it is not words
07:05 just being muttered into the air,
07:07 but as He preaches the truth about the kingdom, guess what?
07:10 Heaven begins to fill the space.
07:13 The Father and Spirit begin to fill the space.
07:17 There is a spiritual fumigation that fills up the room,
07:20 and every dark principality begins to tell this.
07:27 On the glory of God.
07:31 And I can see this thing church this devil.
07:36 Says, I just got to make. It through this one service.
07:39 He says, I just need to sit here with applied disinterest.
07:45 I'm going to show Jesus ain't paying nothing
07:48 and no attention and nothing he's gonna say.
07:50 So he sits there with his arms folded
07:53 like some of y'all do when y'all don't like what I'm saying,
07:56 as if I'm going to stop saying it.
07:59 And he sits there with his arms folded in protest of the truth
08:03 that's being spoken.
08:04 But the more the spirit begins to feel the room,
08:07 and the more heaven begins to come near
08:09 all of a sudden, man, that demon, his foot begins to
08:12 suffer a little bit
08:14 because he's uncomfortable in the presence of God.
08:17 After a while, he's got to switch cheeks
08:20 because, man, he can't stand it there in the presence of God.
08:24 After a while, Sweat starts coming down from his brow.
08:27 After a while, he begins to pop his knuckles,
08:30 and even though his mouth is closed,
08:32 those in the inside can hear sounds
08:34 coming from the inside of him.
08:36 They hear something this man
08:42 and something else goes.
08:45 And folk on the right think that he's got Garth
08:49 talk on the left side, think he's got a seizure,
08:53 but the spirit smokes the thing out so bad
08:56 that no matter how hard he tries to contain it,
08:58 no matter how hard he tries to keep it,
09:00 he stands up and he sits back down.
09:03 They think he's getting happy in church,
09:05 but the spirit smokes it out so bad that before he knows it,
09:10 out of one body comes a chorus of voices saying, Jesus,
09:14 leave us alone.
09:22 Because the Spirit smokes out
09:27 that which is not complimentary to him.
09:32 Now I need you to notice something.
09:35 When Jesus sees the man trippin, he doesn't stop preaching.
09:41 Because if he lets the devil retreat that day,
09:45 the man is going to be bound for the rest of his natural
09:49 born life.
09:51 See, I need you to understand something about Jesus.
09:55 See, I need you to notice.
09:59 You notice how in the Old Testament
10:00 you don't really read nothing about demon possession.
10:03 You only see demon possession when Jesus shows up
10:07 and it wasn't that folk weren't possessed before Jesus came,
10:11 but it was the power of Jesus that made the invisible bondage
10:15 obvious for everybody to be able to see
10:18 and see the reason this is powerful church,
10:21 because sometimes we only see the grace of God
10:23 and what he covers.
10:29 But sometimes the power of God is seen in what He exposes,
10:34 and the y'all's going to get quite see.
10:36 Sometimes I need you to know that, man.
10:39 I thank God for the things that he hid it.
10:42 I thank God for the things that he covered.
10:44 But when I look back on my life,
10:46 I thank God for the things that he dragged out of the darkness
10:51 where it could not be hidden or veiled.
10:54 I need you to know Jesus is the cat.
10:55 Well, you're mathematically.
11:00 He knows where all the bodies are buried.
11:02 They are here. What I'm saying.
11:05 But I need somebody to be clear that Jesus,
11:08 whether it's
11:09 in your personal life, whether it is in your work life,
11:12 or whether it is in the corporate church,
11:14 Jesus will never facilitate a cover up
11:19 and grace will never be an alibi
11:21 for your sins.
11:26 And this might not be shouting news, but it's settling news
11:31 because see, there are too many of us
11:33 that are willing to be friends with the enemy in private.
11:37 As long as we can have our Christian facade in public.
11:42 See, we'll do whatever.
11:43 Dirt behind closed doors
11:45 as long as the enemy would permit us to have our veneer.
11:49 As long as we can maintain that perception
11:51 of what people think of us and see the reason
11:54 some of us never attain Christian character
11:57 is because we're content with Christian image.
12:02 As long as I can hold on to our opinion,
12:04 as long as I can manage the narrative around me,
12:07 as long as I can dictate what people think.
12:09 But see, I need you to know that we serve a God
12:12 that and concern nothing about your image.
12:14 You don't care nothing about your family name.
12:17 He ain't concerned nothing about what people think about you.
12:19 He is not functioning in the face of image.
12:22 His image is what people think about you.
12:24 But he wants to develop character
12:25 because that's what God knows about you.
12:29 Are you all here?
12:30 What I'm saying friends.
12:31 And so somewhere in the process,
12:33 he's going to take all of us through some fumigation
12:39 and understand he's not trying to smoke you out.
12:43 He's trying to smoke in you out.
12:49 And he smokes us out in different ways.
12:52 Sometimes he just lets you lie collapse.
12:56 Yeah.
12:59 Sometimes that nasty text you're going to send
13:01 to one person winds up in a group thread.
13:06 Sometimes that
13:07 text from the other women gets opened up on your wife's iPad.
13:12 No matter how much birth control
13:14 and contraception you use, somebody still gets pregnant.
13:18 I need you to know friends of mine
13:20 that God has a way of taking those.
13:22 Things that are in the darkness.
13:24 It won't remain. Oh, y'all quiet today.
13:27 Y'all want this sermon to end? But I'm just getting started.
13:30 I need you to know that the God we serve in order
13:34 to save your soul cannot let it stay under the freeze.
13:40 He cannot let it stay in the cracks in the wall.
13:42 He cannot allow it to remain hidden.
13:44 That which is done in the darkness
13:45 has to come into the light, because the only way
13:50 God can heal is that He can never heal.
13:52 What remains hidden.
13:56 Are you all hear what I'm saying? It hurts.
13:58 So God says, I'm going to walk with
14:00 you and I'm going to come so close to you that those.
14:05 Things that are hidden and in panel get.
14:07 Smoked out so I can heal them.
14:12 Everything.
14:13 The fourth thing this teachers real quick thing to teach us
14:16 is that there's a difference between bondage and rebellion.
14:20 Y'all still with me?
14:23 Look at this statement here. I just took it off.
14:27 I want you to read this real quick.
14:27 Garbage is 255.
14:29 This difference between bondage and rebellion
14:33 when the man.
14:35 So so so he sees Jesus
14:37 when the man tried to appeal to Jesus for help.
14:40 Did y'all see this?
14:43 The man tried to appeal to His Jesus for help.
14:46 The evil spirit put words into his mouth
14:49 and cried out in agony in fear.
14:52 The demonic,
14:53 the money that partially comprehended
14:55 that he was in the presence of the one who could set him free.
14:59 But when he tried to come within reach
15:01 of that mighty hand, another wheel held him up.
15:06 Another's words found utterance through him.
15:10 The conflict between the power of Satan and his own desire
15:15 for freedom was rebel did don't catch this church.
15:20 You see, this man was not in rebellion.
15:24 He's under. Bondage.
15:27 Oh, Jesus.
15:31 This bondage is so heavy that the devil won't
15:35 even let him ask for help.
15:40 And can I suggest that the greatest form of bondage.
15:44 It ain't crack in a mess.
15:46 It ain't pouring in any alcohol.
15:49 It is a soul that the enemy won't even let you say.
15:52 I need help for what.
15:53 I'm going through.
15:57 In other words, he won't even let you form
16:00 your lips to say I need help.
16:02 He won't even let you admit that you, in a struggle.
16:06 As soon as he sees
16:07 that you're about to ask somebody to pray for you,
16:11 all of a sudden, everything in your soul clamps down
16:14 and say, I need you to know
16:14 because there's somebody saying, No oppressor,
16:16 that's not bondage, that's pride.
16:18 Where do you think it come from?
16:21 You realize
16:22 that the original sin is not eating fruit from a tree.
16:26 What a in the original sin was a soul
16:31 that was so impressed and enamored with his own glory
16:34 that he could not even submit
16:36 in the presence of the Almighty God.
16:40 So one of the greatest forms of bondage is pride.
16:42 I are here today, friends.
16:45 So I need you to get.
16:46 That there is a difference. MAN Help me, Lord.
16:49 There's a difference between bondage and rebellion.
16:51 They look.
16:52 They look like one another, but they're not related.
16:56 Okay, I see.
16:57 Rebellion, friends, is the pursuit of perceived.
17:03 Pleasure.
17:05 In a way that's done in ignorance, out of curiosity.
17:09 And some naivete.
17:11 In other words, rebellion is this belief
17:13 that there is this heightened level of existence and freedom
17:17 outside of the wheel and word of God
17:19 that causes me to pursue things
17:21 and go outside of the boundaries of Jesus Christ.
17:25 But see, the problem with rebellion
17:26 is that rebellion can ultimately lead you to bondage,
17:31 because what happens is when you go so far out there,
17:33 there is an invisible line
17:35 that you cross somewhere along the way
17:38 and you don't even realize that you've crossed over
17:40 from curious rebellion to satanic bondage.
17:44 And the problem is, you will never know
17:45 you're in bondage until you try to come out.
17:51 In other words, friends of mine,
17:52 I need you to understand that Samson was in rebellion.
17:57 And then he winds up in bondage because he didn't even know
18:02 that the Spirit
18:03 of God had departed from him.
18:08 Are you hear what I'm saying to.
18:09 The church and say, I need somebody.
18:11 Understand that there's a line that you can't cross and see.
18:14 It's an interesting situation
18:15 because sometimes we misdiagnose things, see?
18:19 We look at certain things and we say, See, when rebellion,
18:24 you have no. Desire. To do good.
18:27 With bondage, you have the desire.
18:29 You just can't carry it out
18:32 right now. Your brand new.
18:34 Bondage, that's the point. I just don't want it.
18:37 But see, once you're in bondage,
18:38 you want to come out, but you can't.
18:41 And see, I need you to know
18:42 that there is a difference between won't stop
18:48 and can't stop
18:51 because you're looking at a young person
18:52 and saying they're so rebellious because they won't stop.
18:55 It's not they won't stop.
18:57 They can't stop.
19:00 It's not that your husband won't stop watching porn.
19:02 He can't stop watching porn.
19:03 It's not that they won't put down.
19:05 They can't put down the weed.
19:07 It's not that they just won't come back.
19:10 They can't come back to church.
19:11 And I need you to understand
19:13 that once you go so far that there becomes this merger
19:19 between the human and the demonic.
19:24 So much, so that you literally operate under the whim
19:28 and the wishes of the enemy.
19:31 Now, I don't care what you want to call it,
19:32 you want to say, Oh, no, I'm not in bondage.
19:34 Maybe they're just addicted, maybe it's a sickness,
19:37 maybe if you call it whatever you want to call it.
19:40 But if you can't control your own will,
19:43 it's because the enemy has the upper hand in your life.
19:47 And that needs somebody to know
19:49 that God is bringing you to a place, friends of mine
19:52 where He doesn't want you to live in bondage.
19:53 See, freedom is not doing whatever you want.
19:57 Freedom is being able to do whatever you want.
20:01 The bondage gets us to a place
20:05 we want to stop.
20:08 We just can't.
20:10 And the only are we to powerless to stop the enemy
20:13 then creates and inflates us
20:16 with so much pride that we can't ask for help.
20:19 And there is this constant cycle of every time we get close,
20:24 the stronghold grows greater and
20:26 we wind up in greater bondage than we were the time before.
20:31 And it's crazy. This thing. About sin.
20:34 Notice that even when Jesus.
20:36 Cast the demon out of the man,
20:39 the Bible says that the Spirit convulsed him.
20:42 King James version says it tore him.
20:45 And in the crazy about sin, he didn't feel nothing
20:47 when the devil was going in.
20:50 He didn't feel nothing until the.
20:51 Devil had to be cast out and see.
20:54 I need you to know it is the nature of bondage
20:56 in all of its sorts. It is seamless. It is easy.
20:59 There are no red. Flags, there are no alarms.
21:02 It is easy when it's coming in to you.
21:06 But there is going to be a struggle
21:08 and there's going to be a fight.
21:11 And there's going to be a protest when it's time.
21:14 For the enemy to be removed from your life.
21:18 So I'm almost there.
21:21 You know, friends in the word Jesus does roughly
21:25 about 37, 38 recorded miracles.
21:28 In fact, when you look in the book
21:29 except the one, Luke says that he actually did
21:31 so many miracles, that man,
21:32 they could not be contained in all the pages of Scripture.
21:36 So when I look at miracles now, I begin
21:38 this kind of say to myself, Why did Jesus want this
21:41 one specifically?
21:42 Why did the Spirit ordained for this one
21:45 to be recorded for our consideration?
21:48 And see, there is a reason that Jesus
21:51 wanted us to see this demon.
21:53 Get defeated in his church. See?
21:56 See the fourth?
21:57 The last thing he needed us to understand
21:59 that the devil is defeated
22:04 by God. No,
22:09 no, no, no, no. Church. He needed you to see
22:13 that the devil is not
22:15 going to be defeated.
22:20 He needed you to recognize that the devil is already defeated.
22:27 No, I need you to look at it in the word.
22:31 Notice that when Jesus shows up, the automatic posture
22:35 of the devil was to assume defeat and destruction.
22:41 In other words, he didn't protest.
22:45 He didn't resist. He didn't put up a fight.
22:48 He just says, I'm Jesus, why are you here?
22:51 We thought we have a little more time.
22:53 Have you come to destroy us already?
22:57 And see the reason I am declaring this
23:00 over the people of God today, I need you to know
23:02 that the devil assumes a posture of submission.
23:06 He literally falls on his face and the presence of the lamb
23:09 that he puts up no resistance
23:10 until the one who was and is and is to come
23:14 see what Jesus wanted us to see was a stark contrast
23:19 between the power of light and the power of darkness.
23:22 Because once the light showed up,
23:25 the darkness automatically submit it.
23:28 Is there anybody that will stand to their feet.
23:32 And say, Lord, I'm done talking about how great he is.
23:37 But I'm going to take some time to celebrate how great you are.
23:41 I'm grateful that the Lord, strong and mighty,
23:44 you are the Lord mighty in battle.
23:47 Lift up your hands, all ye gates,
23:50 and be lifted up the everlasting doors
23:53 so that the King of glory.
23:54 Shall come in.
23:57 Are you tired of just being tired?
24:01 Are you frustrated because your results never change?
24:04 Do you feel like life is just going in circles?
24:08 I'm excited to introduce my newest book entitled
24:12 Excuse This,
24:13 and I'm going to be talking
24:14 about how to cancel the excuses that smother our soul wellness.
24:20 I need you to know that your issue is not
24:21 your circumstances.
24:22 It's not the challenges.
24:24 It is the lies that we tell ourselves about
24:27 why we're not progressing.
24:29 When you tell yourself, I don't have enough time,
24:32 I don't have enough resources, I don't have enough money.
24:35 Those are the excuses that are keeping you
24:37 from becoming whom God has called you to be.
24:40 So this book
24:41 is going to be talking to you about how to manage
24:43 your distractions, how to overcome your fears,
24:46 how to walk through procrastination,
24:49 and to become the best version of yourself.
24:52 So join me on Saturday, April the 13th, as I begin a teaching
24:56 series entitled ExcuseLess.
24:58 Every Saturday and Wednesday, we're going to walk
25:01 through the Word of God and give you the cheat code
25:04 to having a life filled with progress.
25:06 And then I want you to join us starting Sunday,
25:09 April the 14th, for our 21 days of free.
25:13 We're going to march through the content of the book.
25:14 We're going to testify.
25:15 We're going to call on the name of the Lord,
25:17 and we're going to grow as a community of faith.
25:21 You'll be able to get the book ExcuseLess on our Breath of Life
25:25 website at www.breathoflife.tv or on Amazon.com.
25:31 You can join us for 21 days on our Oakwood
25:33 University Church platforms
25:35 and on our Breath of Life platforms.
25:38 I need you to know that we're about to start a revolution.
25:42 There's about to be a growth grenade.
25:45 I would invite you to join me on this journey
25:48 as we begin the process of becoming excuses.
25:55 Hey, family, I know the weekends can be long,
25:59 they can be hard, and you go through a lot.
26:02 And so at the end of each week,
26:04 I want to encourage you to join me
26:07 and the Breath of Life team for the weekend.
26:09 Exhale with BOL We were having these programs on Sunday,
26:15 but now we want to begin the weekend
26:17 giving you a little nourishment, a little nurture,
26:20 giving you a little boost as you start the weekend.
26:23 Every first Friday, I'm going to be doing
26:25 a Bible study entitled to the Playbook,
26:28 where we're going
26:29 to be looking at issues of doctrine and culture
26:32 through the lens of the Scripture.
26:33 You don't have to guess. You don't have to hope.
26:36 God is giving us a script in the word
26:39 because the word is this playbook.
26:41 I'm gonna invite you to join me every second Friday
26:44 for a show called Point of View,
26:45 where Gianna and I do a deep dove into issues of marriage,
26:50 dating and relationships.
26:52 Every third Friday, join Pastor Nugent and myself
26:56 in the Vision Lab,
26:57 where we're going to be making a heavy deposit
27:00 into leaders of all fields.
27:03 We're going to be pouring into
27:04 pastors, entrepreneurs, CEOs, ministry leaders, authors.
27:09 And we're going to be talking
27:10 about how to build that vision
27:12 and move it from an idea to a reality.
27:15 And then on the fourth Friday,
27:16 we're introducing a new program called what just Happened.
27:21 We're going to be looking at
27:22 whatever the trending topics in culture are.
27:25 Danita, Pastor Nugent and myself,
27:28 we're going to be addressing whatever the trending culture
27:30 or topic is for that week or that month.
27:33 We're going to be engaging with you.
27:35 You're going to be answering your questions
27:37 and trying to figure out how we as believers
27:40 find our place in the larger culture.
27:43 We go through a lot
27:44 during the weekends.
27:45 You can get overwhelmed,
27:46 you can get a little stressed out.
27:48 But before you go into the weekend,
27:50 take a moment and join us to stop, breathe and Exhale
27:55 with BOL
