00:01 The experiments you will see
00:02 have been carefully done by professionals,
00:04 and should not be tried at home without parental guidance.
00:06 Please follow the caution signs throughout this program.
00:32 Hey, kids, we're so happy you could join us today
00:35 for Creation is Science.
00:38 We have exciting experiment for you
00:40 that will give us a little glimpse of who God is.
00:43 Are you ready? Yes.
00:45 I am ready.
00:46 And I have here Professor Roy joining us and I have Leah,
00:51 Jasmine, Jafet and Colton,
00:54 and I can't wait to see what you've got for us today.
00:57 All right, good.
00:58 Well, it's nice to meet your kids.
01:00 Cool. You like experiments?
01:01 Yes. Okay.
01:02 We've got a cool experiment,
01:04 but hey, let me ask you a question.
01:05 Do you like the sun?
01:07 Well, here's another question.
01:09 You and you like the sun.
01:10 Now, can we live without the sun?
01:11 No.
01:13 No, we can't live without the sun.
01:14 Now that's interesting.
01:16 Now who created the sun? God.
01:17 You know, Jesus created everything, didn't He?
01:19 He really did.
01:20 He created the sun in a marvelous way.
01:22 He created the earth in a marvelous way
01:24 and that's what we want to talk about.
01:26 So what we have right here
01:27 is we've got some little white beads.
01:29 Okay.
01:30 Now, Aunty, why don't you pass those out here?
01:33 Okay.
01:34 And why don't you go ahead and get some things
01:36 on the shelf that we ask you to get.
01:38 And we're going to get some of our science experiment
01:41 apparatus right here.
01:42 Okay.
01:44 And let's see, we've got some fuzzy sticks right here.
01:46 So, hey, why don't you take the color of your choice.
01:49 Just go ahead and take one.
01:50 You got one that you like better than the others.
01:53 Okay. There, you got it.
01:54 Okay. There you go. All right.
01:56 And let's see, they can go ahead
01:57 and pick the color of fuzzy stick
01:59 that they want.
02:01 Okay.
02:02 And we've got some white beads, okay.
02:04 We've got some little tiny white beads.
02:06 Now these little white beads are what we're going to
02:08 concentrate our attention on, right?
02:10 Okay.
02:12 So what I'd like to have you do is I like to have you
02:14 just go ahead and take 10 of them.
02:16 Okay. Any anyone, it doesn't matter.
02:18 Just take 10 of them and put them,
02:20 thread them right on your fuzzy stick.
02:22 Okay.
02:24 Just thread them right on your fuzzy stick.
02:26 So we'll have 10, okay, on each one of those.
02:30 All right.
02:31 And I think what I'm going to do,
02:32 you know, I think I could do it too.
02:34 Can I do it too? Oh, yes.
02:35 Okay. So here we go.
02:36 So I've got one, two, three,
02:38 four, five, six, seven, eight,
02:41 nine, ten.
02:45 A couple of different ways of doing that, isn't there?
02:47 Yeah.
02:49 And then take them and put them
02:50 on the middle of your fuzzy stick,
02:52 but don't hurry.
02:54 I'm just rushing in. There we go.
02:57 We'll put them on the middle of your fuzzy stick like this.
03:00 How are we doing? We're doing good?
03:02 Yeah. Uh-huh.
03:04 There we go and then you can take your hand
03:08 and you can put your hand right on top of them.
03:11 Okay. We want to keep them warm.
03:13 Okay.
03:15 We want to keep them warm.
03:16 Is your hand warm? I hope so.
03:19 All right. Everybody got those?
03:22 Yep. Okay.
03:23 All right.
03:25 We're just finishing up over there.
03:26 We'll get those altogether. All right.
03:28 Now we don't want them to slip off.
03:30 So what you could do is you could just,
03:32 you could tie the ends or you could make,
03:34 what could we make out of these?
03:36 Oh, I want a heart shape on mine.
03:37 You could make a heart shape on there.
03:39 Okay. Jesus loves me.
03:40 All right. There you go.
03:41 All right. So let's see.
03:43 I could probably make
03:44 a little heart shape on mine maybe.
03:47 There you go.
03:48 Mine looks more like an open mouth.
03:51 There we go.
03:52 Now, there's something interesting about
03:55 these little white beads,
03:56 the little white beads have a very surprising
03:59 chemical inside of them.
04:01 And what happens is when we take the chemical,
04:05 when we take the bead and we shine
04:07 some very important light on them,
04:09 something happens.
04:10 Okay. Something happens.
04:12 So what I have right here is I'm going to take
04:15 this little light right here.
04:16 I have a little flashlight. I can shine it on my clothes.
04:19 Can you see it? It's very bright.
04:21 Okay.
04:22 And I'm going to let you see the face of it,
04:25 but I'm not going to shine it in your eyes.
04:27 Can you see all of those little tiny bubbles in there?
04:28 Yeah.
04:30 Each one of those little tiny bubbles
04:31 is an LED light.
04:35 And the frequency of light that's coming out is
04:38 in the wavelength of what?
04:40 Ultraviolet light.
04:42 And the sun gives us ultraviolet light, doesn't it?
04:44 Okay.
04:45 So this is what, this is like sunlight.
04:47 The ultraviolet light from the sun coming down
04:49 and shining it on here.
04:51 And what I'm going to do is I'm going to shine that
04:52 on your beads.
04:54 Okay.
04:55 Let me just shine that on your beads
04:56 and let's see what happens to your beads?
04:58 Wow.
04:59 Let me shine it on your beads, see what happens to your beads?
05:02 What's happening to your beads?
05:04 Oh, my lands, look at that. Wow!
05:06 I'm picking up
05:08 some interesting colors right here.
05:10 Wow. What's happening to yours?
05:11 Now they were... What color were they?
05:13 They were white. They were white.
05:15 Let me get over here to his, they were white.
05:17 And what colors are you seeing now?
05:21 What colors are you seeing now?
05:25 You're seeing many colors. Okay.
05:27 There's a possibility of about
05:29 five different colors right there.
05:31 And I have those same beads
05:32 in this little glass tube right here.
05:34 And I can shine that on.
05:36 I can shine that on my glass tube.
05:38 And you can probably see that
05:40 they're turning all kinds of colors.
05:43 Now, ultraviolet light,
05:44 our sun gives us ultraviolet light.
05:46 We can't see it just like you
05:48 couldn't see colors in your white beads, could you?
05:50 Not until we shone
05:52 some of this ultraviolet light on them.
05:54 Interesting.
05:56 Now, since we can't see ultraviolet light,
05:58 it can be dangerous.
05:59 Have you ever gotten over exposure
06:04 of ultraviolet light on your skin?
06:06 What happened to your skin?
06:07 Got sunburn. You got sunburn.
06:09 That's right.
06:11 And sunburn is doing what to your skin.
06:12 What does the sun do to your skin?
06:14 Burning it. It burns it.
06:15 It actually damages your skin, doesn't it?
06:18 Kill cells, yeah.
06:19 But you know the thing of it is,
06:21 we need ultraviolet light, don't we?
06:23 Because you know what your sun, you know, what your skin does?
06:26 Your skin turns some of that
06:27 into what we call vitamin D what?
06:31 You can guess, it's vitamin D3.
06:34 And we got to have vitamin D3 too, don't we?
06:37 But we can't have too much
06:38 and that can be a problem for us.
06:39 But you know, when God created the earth,
06:41 He created an atmosphere around our earth right here.
06:44 And you know what? Hey, we have a globe up here.
06:45 Can you go get that globe for me?
06:47 Somebody, go get it, let's go get our globe.
06:50 We've got our globe, right?
06:52 And here's a good picture of our earth right here.
06:54 Here, cool, careful with our globe, look at that.
06:57 But you know what?
06:58 What we have is we have an atmosphere
06:59 around planet earth, don't we?
07:01 We have an atmosphere around it.
07:03 And that atmosphere tends to guard planet earth
07:06 from getting hit by too much ultraviolet light,
07:09 and dangerous things that come from the sun.
07:11 And so it filters out the danger,
07:13 a lot of that danger, ultraviolet light to us.
07:17 That's interesting. Who created our atmosphere?
07:20 God.
07:21 You know, God created the atmosphere
07:23 to protect us from the bad things
07:25 that the sun can give us.
07:26 Hey, have you ever had an x-ray?
07:28 Yes. How many of you had an x-ray?
07:30 You have an x-ray? Yeah, that's cool.
07:32 But you know, what would you like a lot of x-rays?
07:34 No.
07:35 Because that's radiation, isn't it?
07:37 And x-rays, we don't want a lot of x-rays.
07:40 In fact, people that give other people x-rays
07:42 are called x-ray technicians and radiologists.
07:46 They have to wear badges on their lab coats.
07:49 Because if they get too much radiation,
07:51 it could hurt their health, couldn't it?
07:53 Interesting.
07:54 So we don't want a lot of ultra...
07:56 We don't want a lot of x-ray, but the sun gives us x-rays.
07:59 Isn't that interesting?
08:01 Have you ever heard of gamma rays?
08:02 No.
08:04 Hey, gamma rays, just a few seconds
08:05 of gamma rays could kill us.
08:07 We don't want that either, but our atmosphere does what?
08:10 It guards us and blocks those dangerous rays.
08:13 How cool is that?
08:15 Hey, did you like the colors right there?
08:16 Yeah. What's happening to them now?
08:18 They're turning white.
08:19 They're turning back white again.
