00:01 Welcome back. Today concludes our several programs
00:04 dealing with sadness.
00:06 We talked about the sadness, the loss that we each experience,
00:09 and how God wants to work in our lives to bring deliverance.
00:13 This is our application section.
00:16 And I have some 3 x 5 cards here on the table in front of me.
00:20 Remember, during the program I discussed writing out
00:24 specific Bible promises.
00:26 You can pick whatever one you'd like.
00:28 I would like to encourage you this week to write out five
00:32 different Bible promises.
00:34 Pick five different ones and write them out.
00:37 I have a couple written out here, and I broke them up
00:40 into three different categories.
00:42 The first category is joy.
00:43 Maybe look up some Scriptures dealing with joy.
00:47 If you say, Jill I don't even know my Bible.
00:49 I don't even know where I would find Scriptures on joy.
00:52 Here's a couple of references: Psalm 16:11.
00:56 That could be one that you choose this week.
00:58 It says, You will show me the path of life:
01:01 in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand
01:05 are pleasures forevermore.
01:08 Now the next one I'm going to write out here.
01:10 This also deals with joy.
01:13 I'll put joy at the top.
01:15 It'll remind me this is my Scripture promise about joy.
01:18 And it's, we're going to do Nehemiah 8:10.
01:23 And what does it say?
01:24 We talked about it during the program.
01:26 The joy of the Lord makes me weak, makes me tired? No.
01:33 The joy of the Lord is my strength.
01:36 I love that promise, so it's beautiful.
01:39 The joy of Lord is my strength.
01:42 These are promises on surrender.
01:44 First category might be joy.
01:47 The next category might be surrender.
01:49 Here's some promises on surrender.
01:51 Romans 8:28. We know that all things work together for good
01:56 to those who love Him, to those who are called
01:58 according to His purpose.
02:00 What does that mean?
02:01 I can trust God with whatever is happening in my life.
02:06 What about another promise?
02:08 This is Romans 8:35-39.
02:11 Who shall separate us from the love of God?
02:13 shall tribulation, or distress, or nakedness,
02:15 or peril, or sword? No.
02:17 In all these things we are more than conquerors
02:22 through Him that loved us.
02:25 You could choose to write one out, maybe Philippians 4:11.
02:29 I like this one. Philippians 4:11.
02:34 I have learned in whatever state I am in to be content.
02:39 Here I'm just writing, I have learned to be content.
02:45 Now you could paraphrase, or you could choose
02:47 to write out the whole promise.
02:49 The point is to fill your mind, your heart,
02:53 with the Word of God.
02:54 That's the second category.
02:56 The third category would be giving thanks.
02:59 This one is 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18.
03:03 Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing.
03:06 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God
03:10 in Christ Jesus concerning you.
03:12 Now remember, we said during the program it doesn't mean that
03:15 everything is thankworthy; that we shouldn't give
03:19 thanks for everything.
03:20 We just give thanks in all things, because God is working
03:25 a beautiful thing out in our lives.
03:27 So this week write out some of those promises.
03:31 I have some written out here.
03:33 Take them out. Write out five.
03:35 Take them out during the week.
03:37 Work on memorizing those promises, committing the Word
03:40 of God into your heart, and into your life.
03:43 In addition, share one of your promises with someone else.
03:48 Pull out your promise and tell someone else.
03:51 You know what God's doing in my life?
03:53 You know what promise God gave me this week?
03:56 You know what God showed me? what's really helped me
04:01 in my own journey?
04:02 Share that with somebody else.
04:05 And then, as you do that, it will encourage them.
04:09 You could share it with somebody else who's struggling,
04:12 someone else who's having a hard time.
04:14 You could choose to share it with someone who even asks you
04:18 how you're doing with your own sorrow and loss.
04:21 Pick out your promise, and share with them a promise
04:24 from the Word of God.
04:25 Our next program together we're going to deal with
04:29 the topic of purity.
04:30 Purity is a sensitive topic, and we want to make sure
04:34 we handle it gently.
04:35 But we want to share principles from the Word of God that we can
04:40 use as women to break free from any of those chains
04:43 that bind us, and to enable us to walk in purity.
04:46 Our closing Scripture is Romans 15:13.
04:50 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace
04:53 in believing, that you may abound in hope,
04:56 by the power of the Holy Spirit.
