00:17 Hello, and welcome to His Words Are Life.
00:19 I'm Kelly Mowrer, and it's been so nice as I've traveled around 00:23 the country to meet you and have you come and say how much 00:26 you enjoy our time together reading the word of God. 00:28 Thank you for joining with me today, and before we begin let's 00:32 go Him in prayer together. 00:33 Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that as Your children, we can 00:38 come and be in Your presence, and hear Your words to us, 00:42 that come down through the centuries, and tell us again of 00:45 Your love, and Your care, Your kindness, and Your goodness, 00:48 and Your mercy. 00:49 Please help us as we read these words to understand them, 00:52 and may they be not just a blessing to us, but a blessing 00:56 to everyone that we will meet and talk with, and witness to 01:01 this day, and this week. 01:03 Thank You so much, Jesus. 01:04 We love You. 01:05 Amen. 01:06 I'm reading from the King James Version in the gospel of John, 01:10 chapter 6, beginning with verse 35. 01:14 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that 01:19 cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me 01:22 shall never thirst. 01:24 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, 01:27 and believe not. 01:28 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that 01:32 cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 01:35 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, 01:39 but the will of him that sent me. 01:41 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all 01:46 which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise 01:49 it up again at the last day. 01:51 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which 01:56 seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: 02:00 and I will raise him up at the last day. 02:03 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread 02:08 which came down from heaven. 02:09 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, 02:13 whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he 02:16 saith, I came down from heaven? 02:18 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, 02:21 Murmur not among yourselves. 02:24 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me 02:27 draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. 02:31 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all 02:35 taught of God. 02:36 Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the 02:40 Father, cometh unto me. 02:42 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, 02:47 he hath seen the Father. 02:49 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me 02:54 hath everlasting life. 02:55 I am that bread of life. 02:58 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 03:02 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man 03:07 may eat thereof, and not die. 03:10 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man 03:14 eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I 03:18 will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life 03:22 of the world. 03:23 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this 03:28 man give us his flesh to eat? 03:30 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, 03:35 Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, 03:38 ye have no life in you. 03:40 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal 03:44 life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 03:48 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 03:52 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, 03:55 dwelleth in me, and I in him. 03:59 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father; 04:03 so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 04:08 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your 04:13 fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this 04:18 bread shall live for ever. 04:20 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught 04:24 in Capernaum. 04:25 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, 04:29 This is a hard saying; who can hear it? 04:32 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, 04:36 he said unto them, Doth this offend you? 04:39 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where 04:43 he was before? 04:44 It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth 04:49 nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, 04:53 and they are life. 04:55 But there are some of you that believe not. 04:58 For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that 05:02 believed not, and who should betray him. 05:04 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come 05:08 unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. 05:12 From that time many of his disciples went back, 05:15 and walked no more with him. 05:17 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 05:21 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? 05:26 thou hast the words of eternal life. 05:28 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, 05:32 the Son of the living God. 05:33 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, 05:38 and one of you is a devil? 05:40 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was 05:45 that should betray him, being one of the twelve. 05:48 I'm reading from the gospel of John; the King James Version, 05:51 and we're beginning now with chapter 7. 05:54 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not 05:59 walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him. 06:01 Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand. 06:05 His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into 06:09 Judea, that thy disciples also may see the works 06:13 that thou doest. 06:14 For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, 06:17 and he himself seeketh to be known openly. 06:19 If thou do these things, show thyself to the world. 06:23 For neither did his brethren believe in him. 06:26 Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: 06:30 but your time is always ready. 06:34 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify 06:38 of it, that the works thereof are evil. 06:41 Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; 06:46 for my time is not yet full come. 06:48 When he had said these words unto them, he abode 06:52 still in Galilee. 06:54 But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto 06:58 the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret. 07:03 Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he? 07:07 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: 07:10 for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he 07:14 deceiveth the people. 07:15 Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews. 07:19 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, 07:24 and taught. 07:25 And the Jews marveled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, 07:29 having never learned? 07:31 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, 07:35 but his that sent me. 07:37 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, 07:41 whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. 07:45 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: 07:48 but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, 07:53 and no unrighteousness is in him. 07:56 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you 08:00 keepeth the law? 08:02 Why go ye about to kill me? 08:04 The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: 08:08 who goeth about to kill thee? 08:09 Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, 08:13 and ye all marvel. 08:14 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is 08:18 of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the Sabbath day 08:21 circumcise a man. 08:23 If a man on the Sabbath day receive circumcision, 08:26 that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me 08:30 because I have made a man every whit whole on the Sabbath day? 08:34 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge 08:38 righteous judgment. 08:40 Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, 08:45 whom they seek to kill? 08:46 But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. 08:50 Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ? 08:54 Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, 08:58 no man knoweth whence he is. 08:59 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, 09:03 Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come 09:06 of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not. 09:10 But I know him; for I am from him, and he hath sent me. 09:15 Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, 09:19 because his hour was not yet come. 09:21 And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ 09:25 cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this 09:29 man hath done? 09:30 The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things 09:34 concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests 09:37 sent officers to take him. 09:38 Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, 09:44 and then I go unto him that sent me. 09:46 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, 09:51 thither ye cannot come. 09:52 Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, 09:57 that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among 10:01 the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles? 10:03 What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, 10:07 and shall not find me: and where I am, 10:09 thither ye cannot come? 10:10 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood 10:17 and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, 10:22 and drink. 10:23 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his 10:27 belly shall flow rivers of living water. 10:30 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe 10:35 on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; 10:39 because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) 10:42 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, 10:46 said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. 10:49 Others said, This is the Christ. 10:52 But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee? 10:56 Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed 11:00 of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was? 11:02 So there was a division among the people because of him. 11:05 And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid 11:09 hands on him. 11:10 Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; 11:15 and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him? 11:18 The officers answered, Never man spake like this man. 11:23 Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived? 11:28 Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him? 11:31 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed. 11:35 Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, 11:40 being one of them,) Doth our law judge any man, before it 11:45 hear him, and know what he doeth? 11:47 They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? 11:51 Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet. 11:54 And every man went unto his own house. 11:58 I'm reading from the gospel of John in the King James Version, 12:01 and we are now on chapter 8. 12:03 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. 12:07 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, 12:10 and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, 12:13 and taught them. 12:14 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken 12:18 in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, they say 12:22 unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, 12:26 in the very act. 12:28 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: 12:32 but what sayest thou? 12:33 This they said, tempting him, that they might have 12:38 to accuse him. 12:39 But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the 12:43 ground, as thou he heard them not. 12:46 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, 12:50 and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, 12:54 let him first cast a stone at her. 12:58 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 13:02 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own 13:06 conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, 13:11 even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman 13:15 standing in the midst. 13:17 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the 13:21 woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? 13:27 hath no man condemned thee? 13:29 She said, No man, Lord. 13:33 And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, 13:39 and sin no more. 13:41 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of 13:46 the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, 13:50 but shall have the light of life. 13:52 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of 13:56 thyself; thy record is not true. 13:58 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of 14:02 myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, 14:07 and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, 14:10 and whither I go. 14:11 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. 14:16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, 14:20 but I and the Father that sent me. 14:24 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two 14:27 men is true. 14:28 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent 14:33 me beareth witness of me. 14:35 Please join me again next time for the reading of the 14:38 word of God. |
