00:18 Hi, and welcome to His Words Are Life.
00:19 I'm Kelly Mowrer and thank you for coming apart to read 00:23 God's Word with me today. Before we read about God's message 00:27 through Paul to the church in Romans. 00:29 Let's go to Him in Prayer. Dear Jesus, thank you so much 00:34 for your love and your mercy and your grace. 00:37 that we're reading about, and help us to understand the role 00:43 that grace plays in our life, and how it should be something 00:48 that we are daily thankful for; because we could not live 00:51 without it. Thank you also for your mercies, 00:53 which are new every morning. Help us to never abuse your 00:57 grace and mercy; but to take it with thanksgiving and to draw 01:01 closer to you because of it. We love you. Amen. 01:06 I'm reading again from the book of Romans, 01:08 in Chapter 11, and we're starting with verse 27 01:11 And this is the King James Version. 01:13 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away 01:18 their sins. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies 01:22 for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved 01:27 for the father's sakes. For the gifts and calling of God 01:31 are without repentance. For as ye in times past 01:37 have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy 01:41 through their unbelief: Even so have these also now 01:47 not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy 01:53 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have 01:58 mercy upon all. O the depths of the riches both of the wisdom 02:04 and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, 02:09 and His ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind 02:14 of the Lord? or who hath been his counselor? 02:16 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed 02:20 unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, 02:26 are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen 02:31 Continuing to read in Romans, Chapter twelve. 02:35 I beseech you, therefore brethren by the mercies of God, 02:39 that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, 02:44 acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 02:48 Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the 02:54 renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, 02:58 and acceptable, and perfect will of God. For I say, 03:02 through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you. 03:07 not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; 03:11 but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man 03:16 the measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, 03:20 and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, 03:26 are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another 03:31 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is 03:35 given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophecy according to 03:39 the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our 03:44 ministering: or that teacheth, on teaching; 03:46 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: 03:49 he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; 03:52 he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, 03:57 with cheerfulness. Let love be without dissimulation. 04:01 Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 04:06 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; 04:10 in honor preferring one another; Not slothful in business; 04:15 fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; 04:21 patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; 04:26 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. 04:31 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 04:37 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, 04:40 and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward 04:45 another. Mind not high things but condescend to men 04:50 of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. 04:54 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest 05:00 in the sight of all men. If it be possible, 05:04 as much as lies in you, live peaceably with all men. 05:09 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather 05:13 give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; 05:18 I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, 05:24 feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing 05:29 thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 05:32 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. 05:37 Reading from the King James version, 05:40 in the book of Romans, chapter 13. 05:42 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. 05:46 For there is no power but of God: the powers that be 05:50 are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power. 05:54 resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist 05:57 shall receive to themselves damnation. 06:00 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. 06:04 Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? 06:07 do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 06:11 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. 06:14 But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; 06:18 for he beareth not the sword in vain: 06:20 for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath 06:24 upon him that doeth evil. wherefore ye must needs be 06:29 subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 06:32 For this cause pay ye tribute also: 06:36 for they are God's ministers, attending continually 06:39 upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: 06:43 tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; 06:48 fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. 06:52 Owe no man anything, but to love one another: 06:57 for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 07:01 For this, thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, 07:05 Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 07:08 Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, 07:11 it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely 07:15 Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 07:18 Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: therefore love 07:23 is the fulfilling of the law. And that, knowing the time, 07:28 that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: 07:31 for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. 07:36 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: 07:39 let us therefore cast off the works of darkness 07:42 and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, 07:47 as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, 07:51 not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife 07:55 and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, 07:59 and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts 08:03 thereof. - We're reading from the book of Romans 08:07 in the King James version. Now chapter fourteen. 08:10 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful 08:16 disputations. For one believeth that he may eat all things: 08:20 another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 08:24 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; 08:29 and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth. 08:34 For God hath received him. Who art thou that judgest 08:39 another man's servant? to his own master he standeth 08:44 or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able 08:49 to make him stand. One man esteemeth one day above another: 08:54 another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully 08:58 persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, 09:01 regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not 09:05 the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth 09:09 eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; 09:12 and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, 09:15 and giveth God thanks. For none of us liveth to himself, 09:21 and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, 09:24 we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, 09:27 we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, 09:31 we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, 09:37 and revived, that he might be be Lord both of the dead 09:42 and living. But why dost thou judge thy brother? 09:46 or why dost thou set at naught thy brother? 09:49 For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 09:53 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, 09:56 every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess 10:00 to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself 10:06 to God. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: 10:10 but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock 10:15 or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. 10:19 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, 10:23 that there is nothing unclean of itself: 10:26 but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, 10:30 to him it is unclean. But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat 10:35 now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, 10:41 for whom Christ died. Let not then your good be evil spoken of 10:47 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; 10:51 but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 10:55 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable 10:59 to God, and approved of men. Let us therefore follow after 11:04 the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may 11:09 edify another. For meat destroy not the work of God. 11:14 All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man 11:19 who eateth with offence. It is good neither to eat flesh, 11:24 or to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, 11:28 or is offended, or is made weak. Hast thou faith? 11:32 have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not 11:38 himself in that thing which he alloweth. And he that doubteth 11:43 is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: 11:46 for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. 11:50 We're continuing to read in the book of Romans, chapter 15. 11:55 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak 12:01 and not to please ourselves, Let every one of us please 12:05 his neighbor for his good to edification. 12:08 For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, 12:13 The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. 12:18 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written 12:21 for our learning, that we through patience and comfort 12:25 of the scriptures might have hope. Now the God of patience 12:30 and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another 12:34 according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind 12:38 and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus 12:43 Christ. Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received 12:48 us to the glory of God. Now I say that Jesus Christ 12:52 was a minister of the circumcision for the truth 12:55 of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: 12:58 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; 13:02 as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among 13:06 the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name. And again he saith, 13:10 Rejoice, ye Gentlies, with his people. And again, 13:15 Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles and laud him, all ye people. 13:19 And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, 13:24 and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; 13:27 in him shall the Gentiles trust. Now the God of hope fill you 13:33 with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound 13:37 in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost. And I myself also 13:42 am persuaded of you, my brethren that ye also are full of 13:46 goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also 13:49 to admonish one another. Nevertheless, brethren 13:52 I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, 13:55 as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given 13:59 to me of God, that I should be the minister of Jesus Christ 14:02 to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, 14:06 that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, 14:10 being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. I have therefore whereof 14:14 I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which 14:19 pertain to God. Thank you for coming 14:22 apart to read with me today. And as a final thought, 14:25 let's read again verse 13. Now the God of hope 14:29 fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound 14:33 in hope, through Christ Jesus. |
