00:15 Hi, and welcome to His Words Are Life
00:18 I'm Kelly Mower, and thank you for joining with me today, 00:21 to read the Word of God. 00:22 When we were last together, we were reading in Numbers about 00:24 the different sacrifices that were brought before the Lord 00:28 and we're going to pick up on that in a minute; 00:29 but before we do, let's pray together. 00:31 Dear Jesus, thank You so much that we can sit and hear your 00:37 words of life for us in our lives today, even though they 00:41 were written so many thousands of years ago. As we read of the 00:45 sacrifices that were brought to honor You, to praise You - 00:50 sacrifices of thanksgiving, sacrifices for forgiveness and 00:55 for sin atonement. We thank you for making a sacrifice for us 00:59 and we want to bring to You our lives, as a living sacrifice 01:03 We want to praise You in all that we do and bring glory 01:06 to our name. Please teach us how to do that better. 01:09 We love You so much and thank You for loving us. Amen 01:12 We're reading in the book of Numbers, in Chapter 7. 01:16 And we'll begin with verse 78. This is the King James Version. 01:21 On the 12th day Ahira the son of Enan, prince of the children 01:26 of Naphtali offered. His offering was 1 silver charger, 01:31 the weight whereof was 130 shekels, 1 silver bowl of 70 01:35 shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary; both of them full of 01:39 fine flour, mingled with oil for a meat offering: 01:42 One golden spoon of 10 shekels, full of incense: 01:46 One young bullock, one ram, one lamb of the first year 01:50 for a burnt offering: One kid of the goats for a sin offering: 01:54 And for a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, 01:58 five he goats, five lambs of the first year: this was the 02:04 offering of Ahira, the son of Enan. This was the dedication 02:08 of the altar in the day when it was anointed, 02:12 by the princes of Israel: twelve chargers of silver, twelve 02:15 silver bowls, twelve spoons of gold: each charger of silver, 02:20 weighing 130 shekels each bowl 70: 02:23 all the silver vessels weighed 2,400 shekels, 02:28 after the shekel of the sanctuary: 02:30 The golden spoons were twelve, full of incense, weighing 02:34 ten shekels apiece, after the shekel of the sanctuary: 02:38 all the gold of the spoons was 120 shekels. 02:42 All the oxen for the burnt offering were twelve bullocks, 02:46 the rams twelve, the lambs of the first year twelve, with 02:50 their meat offering: and the kids of the goats 02:53 for sin offering, twelve. And all the oxen for the sacrifice 02:57 of the peace offerings were 24 bullocks, the rams 60 03:01 the he goats 60, the lambs of the first year 60. 03:06 This was the dedication of the altar, 03:07 after that it was anointed. 03:09 And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation 03:13 to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking 03:18 unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark 03:21 of testimony, from between the two cherubim's: 03:24 and he spake unto him. 03:26 We are continuing to read in the book of Numbers, 03:28 this is chapter eight and this is the King James Version. 03:31 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto Aaron, 03:37 and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the 7 lamps 03:41 shall give light over against the candlestick. 03:43 And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the 03:48 candlestick, as the Lord commanded Moses. 03:50 And this work of the candlestick was of beaten gold, 03:54 unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, 03:56 was beaten work: according unto the pattern which the Lord 04:00 had shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick. 04:03 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Take the Levites from 04:08 among the children of Israel and cleanse them. 04:10 And thus shalt thou do unto them to cleanse them: Sprinkle water 04:13 of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh 04:17 and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean. 04:21 Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, 04:24 even fine flour mingled with oil and another young bullock 04:29 shalt thou take for a sin offering. 04:31 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle 04:34 of the congregation. And thou shalt gather the whole assembly 04:37 of the children of Israel together: 04:39 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the Lord: 04:41 and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites 04:45 and Aaron shall offer the Levites before the Lord for 04:48 offering of the children of Israel that they may execute the 04:52 service of the Lord. And the Levites shall lay their hands 04:55 upon the heads of the bullocks and thou shalt offer the one 04:58 for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering, 05:00 unto the Lord, to make an atonement for the Levites. 05:03 And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron and before his sons 05:07 and offer them for an offering unto the Lord. 05:09 Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children 05:13 of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine. 05:17 And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the 05:20 tabernacle of the congregation and thou shalt cleanse them and 05:24 offer them for an offering. For they are wholly given unto me 05:28 from among the children of Israel; instead of such as open 05:31 every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all 05:34 the children of Israel have I taken them unto me. 05:37 For all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, 05:40 both man and beast: on the day that smote every firstborn 05:43 in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself. 05:45 And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn 05:49 of the children of Israel. And I have given the Levites 05:52 as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of 05:56 Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the 05:59 tabernacle of the congregation and to make an atonement 06:02 for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among 06:06 the children of Israel when the children of Israel come nigh 06:08 unto the sanctuary. And Moses and Aaron and all 06:13 the congregation of the children of Israel, 06:15 did to the Levites according unto all that the Lord 06:19 commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the children 06:22 of Israel unto them. And the Levites were purified 06:26 and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them as an 06:30 offering before the Lord; and Aaron made an atonement for them 06:34 to cleanse them. And after that went the Levites in to do their 06:39 service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron 06:42 and before his sons: as the Lord had commanded Moses 06:46 concerning the Levites, so did they unto them. 06:49 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, This is it that 06:53 that belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old 06:56 and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of 07:00 the tabernacle of the congregation: 07:02 and from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon 07:06 the service thereof, and shall serve no more: But shall 07:09 minister with their brethren in the tabernacle 07:11 of the congregation to keep the charge and shall do no service. 07:16 Thus shalt that do unto the Levites touching their charge. 07:19 We are continuing to read in the book of Numbers, 07:23 this is chapter 9. It's the King James version. 07:26 And the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, 07:30 in the first month of the second year after they were 07:32 come out of the land of Egypt, saying, Let the children 07:35 of Israel also keep the Passover at his appointed 07:38 season. In the 14th day of this month, at even ye shall keep it 07:43 in his appointed season: according to all the rites of it 07:46 and according to all the ceremonies thereof, 07:48 shall ye shall ye keep it. And Moses spake unto the children 07:51 of Israel that they should keep the Passover. 07:53 And they kept the Passover on the 14th day of the 1st month 07:58 at even in the wilderness of Sinai: according to all that the 08:02 Lord commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel. 08:05 And there were certain men who were defiled by the dead body 08:10 of a man, that they could not keep the Passover on that day. 08:13 And they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day, 08:16 and those men said unto him, We are defiled by the dead body 08:21 of a man. Wherefore are we kept back that we man not offer an 08:25 offering of the Lord in his appointed season among the 08:27 children of Israel? And Moses said unto them, Stand still and 08:31 I will hear what the Lord will command concerning you. 08:34 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children 08:38 of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your posterity 08:42 shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey 08:47 afar off, yet he shall keep the Passover unto the Lord. 08:50 the 14th day of the 2nd month at even they shall keep it, 08:54 and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. 08:57 They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone 09:02 of it, according to all the ordinances of the Passover 09:05 they shall keep it. But the man that is clean and is not 09:09 in a journey and forebeareth to keep the Passover 09:12 even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: 09:15 because he brought not the offering of the Lord in 09:19 his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin. 09:22 And if a stranger shall sojourn among you and will keep the 09:27 Passover unto the Lord; according to the ordinance 09:29 of the Passover, and according to the manner thereof, 09:32 so shall he do. Ye shall have one ordinance, both for the 09:36 stranger and for him that was born in the land. 09:38 And on the day that the tabernacle was reared up, 09:42 the cloud covered the tabernacle, namely, the tent 09:44 of the testimony. And at even there was upon the tabernacle as 09:48 it were the appearance of fire, until the morning. 09:51 So it was alway: the cloud covered it by day, 09:56 and the appearance of fire by night. And when the cloud was 10:00 taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the children 10:03 of Israel journeyed. And in the place where the cloud abode, 10:08 there the children of Israel pitched their tent. 10:10 At the commandment of the Lord, the children of Israel journeyed 10:15 and at the commandment of the Lord, they pitched: As long as 10:19 the cloud abode upon the tabernacle, they rested 10:22 in their tents. And when the cloud tarried long 10:26 upon the tabernacle, many days, then the children of Israel 10:30 kept the charge of the Lord and journeyed not. 10:33 And so it was, when the cloud was a few days upon the 10:37 tabernacle, according to the commandment of the Lord, 10:40 they abode in their tents, and according to the commandment 10:44 of the Lord, they journeyed. And so it was when the cloud abode 10:48 from even unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up 10:52 in the morning, then they journeyed, 10:53 whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken 10:58 up, they journeyed. Or whether it were two days or a month, 11:03 or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, 11:06 remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents 11:10 and journeyed not. But when it was taken up, they journeyed 11:15 at the commandment of the Lord, they rested in their tents. 11:20 And at the commandment of the Lord, they journeyed. 11:23 They kept the charge of the Lord at the commandment of the Lord, 11:27 by the hand of Moses. 11:29 We are continuing to read in the book of Numbers. 11:32 This is chapter 10, in the King James Version. 11:35 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Make thee two trumpets 11:40 of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that 11:43 thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly 11:46 and for the journeying of the camp. And when they shall 11:50 blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves 11:54 to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 11:56 And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes 12:01 which are heads of the houses of the thousands of Israel, 12:03 shall gather themselves unto thee. When ye blow an alarm 12:07 then the camps that lie on the east part shall go forward. 12:11 When ye blow an alarm the 2nd time, then the camps that lie on 12:16 the south side shall take their journey. 12:18 They shall blow an alarm for their journeys. 12:21 But when the congregation is to be gathered together, 12:24 ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm. 12:27 And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow 12:31 with the trumpets. And they shall be to you for an ordinance 12:34 forever, throughout your generations. 12:37 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy 12:40 that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm 12:43 with the trumpets. And ye shall be remembered before the Lord 12:47 your God and ye shall be saved from your enemies. 12:50 Also in the day of your gladness and in your solemn days, and in 12:55 the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets 12:58 over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your 13:01 peace offerings, that they may be to you for a memorial 13:05 before your God: I am the Lord your God. 13:08 And it came to pass on the 20th day of the 2nd month, 13:12 in the 2nd year, that the cloud was taken up from off 13:16 the tabernacle of the testimony. And the children of Israel took 13:20 their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; 13:22 and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran. 13:26 And they first took their journey according to the 13:29 commandment of the Lord by the hand of Moses. 13:31 In the first place went the standard of the camp of the 13:35 children of Judah, according to their armies: and over his host 13:39 was Nahshon the son of Amminadab. 13:42 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar, 13:45 was Nethaneel the son of Zuar. And over the host of the tribe 13:50 of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon. 13:54 And the tabernacle was taken down and the sons of Gershon 13:57 and the sons of Merari set forward, bearing the tabernacle. 14:01 And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to 14:05 their armies. And over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur. 14:09 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon 14:13 was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai. 14:16 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad 14:19 was Eliasaph the son of Deuel. And the Kohathites set forward, 14:23 bearing the sanctuary: And the other did set up the tabernacle 14:26 against they came. Thank you for joining with me 14:30 today to read the Word of God. When you join me again the next 14:33 time, we'll continue in the book of Numbers. 14:35 Until then, may God keep you in His perfect peace. Goodbye. |
