00:15 Hello, and welcome to His Words are Life.
00:16 I'm Kelly Mowrer, and thank you for joining with me today 00:20 to read the Word of God. Today we'll be reading from the 00:23 book of Psalms. Let's pray before we start. 00:25 Dear God, thank you so much for this time to come into your 00:30 presence and to thank you for your goodness to us. 00:34 As we read these words, may they become real to us as we recall 00:40 how you have blessed us so greatly in our lives. 00:42 We love you so much and thank you for loving us. Amen. 00:45 We're starting today in Psalms 7 verse 3. 00:49 And this is the King James Version. 00:51 O Lord my God, If I have done this; if there be iniquity 00:57 in my hands; If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace 01:02 with me;(yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine 01:06 enemy:) Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; 01:11 yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine 01:15 honor in the dust. Selah. Arise, O Lord, in thine anger, lift up 01:20 thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me 01:25 to the judgment that thou hast commanded. 01:27 So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: 01:31 for their sakes therefore return thou on high. 01:35 The Lord shall judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according 01:41 to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity 01:44 that is in me. Oh let the wickedness of the wicked 01:47 come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God 01:53 trieth the hearts and reins. My defense is of God, which saveth 01:59 the upright in heart. God judgeth the righteous, 02:03 and God is angry with the wicked every day. If he turn not, 02:08 he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready. 02:11 He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; 02:15 he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors. Behold, 02:18 he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, 02:21 and brought forth falsehood. He made a pit, and digged it, 02:24 and is fallen into the ditch which he made. 02:28 His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent 02:32 dealing shall come down upon his own pate. I will praise the Lord 02:38 according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name 02:42 of the Lord most high. - We're continuing in Psalm 8. 02:47 This is the King James Version. To the chief Musician 02:51 upon Gittith, A Psalm of David. O Lord, our Lord, how excellent 02:58 is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory 03:02 above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings 03:06 hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, 03:09 that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. 03:12 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, 03:17 the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, 03:22 that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou 03:27 visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the 03:31 angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor. 03:34 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; 03:38 thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, 03:43 yea, and the beasts of the field; the fowl of the air 03:46 and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the 03:48 paths of the seas. O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name 03:53 in all the earth! - Continuing with Psalm 9. To the chief 03:59 Musician upon Muthlabben, A Psalm of David. 04:03 I will praise thee O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew 04:09 forth all thy marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice 04:13 in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou Most High. 04:17 When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish 04:22 at thy presence. For thou hast maintained my right and my cause 04:27 Thou satest in the throne judging right. Thou hast rebuked 04:32 the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out 04:36 their name for ever and ever. O thou enemy, destructions 04:41 are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; 04:45 their memorial is perished with them. But the Lord shall endure 04:49 forever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment. 04:52 And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister 04:56 judgment to the people in uprightness. 04:58 The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge 05:03 in times of trouble. And they that know thy name 05:08 will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not 05:12 forsaken them that seek thee. Sing praises to the Lord, 05:17 which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings. 05:20 When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: 05:24 he forgetteth not the cry of the humble. Have mercy upon me, 05:30 O Lord; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that 05:34 hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death: 05:37 that I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the 05:41 daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation. The heathen 05:47 are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which 05:52 they hid is their own foot taken. The Lord is known by the 05:56 judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work 06:00 of his own hands. Higaion. Selah. 06:05 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that 06:09 forget God. For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: 06:13 the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever. 06:17 Arise, O Lord; let not man prevail: let the heathen be 06:23 judged in thy sight. Put them in fear, O Lord: 06:27 that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah 06:33 Continuing with Psalm 10. Why standest thou afar off, 06:39 O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble? 06:44 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: 06:49 let them be taken in the devices than they have imagined. 06:52 For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the 06:57 covetous, whom the Lord abhorreth. The wicked, 07:01 through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after 07:04 God: God is not in all his thoughts. His ways are always 07:10 grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: 07:14 as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them. 07:17 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved; for I 07:22 shall never be in adversity. His mouth is full of cursing 07:26 and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity. 07:31 He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret 07:35 places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily 07:39 set against the poor: he lieth in wait secretly as a lion 07:44 in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor, he doth catch 07:49 the poor, when he draweth him into his net. He croucheth, 07:53 and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones 07:57 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten; 08:02 he hideth his face; He will never see it; 08:05 Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not 08:12 the humble. Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? 08:16 He hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it 08:18 Thou hast seen it: for thou beholdest mischief and spite, 08:24 to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself 08:28 unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless. 08:32 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his 08:38 wickedness till thou find none The Lord is king for ever and 08:43 ever: the heathen are perished out of his land. Lord, thou hast 08:48 heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, 08:52 thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: to judge the fatherless 08:56 and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress 09:01 We're continuing with Psalm 11. This is the King James Version. 09:06 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. 09:11 In the Lord put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, 09:18 Flee as a bird to your mountain? For, lo, the wicked bend their 09:21 bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may 09:24 privily shoot at the upright in heart. If the foundations be 09:30 destroyed, what can the righteous do? 09:32 The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord's throne is in heaven: 09:38 his eyes behold, his eyelids try the children of men. 09:42 The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that 09:47 loveth violence his soul hateth. Upon the wicked he shall rain 09:52 snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: 09:56 this shall be the portion of their cup. For the righteous 10:00 Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold 10:05 the upright. - Psalm 12. To the chief Musician 10:11 upon Sheminith, A Psalm of David. - Help, Lord; 10:16 for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the 10:22 children of men. They speak vanity every one with his 10:25 neighbor: with flattering lips and with a double heart 10:28 do they speak. The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips, 10:32 and the tongue that speaketh proud things: Who hath said, 10:36 With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: 10:39 who is lord over us? For the oppression of the poor, 10:43 for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the Lord 10:48 I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him. 10:53 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a 10:59 furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, 11:03 O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation 11:06 for ever. The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men 11:11 are exalted. - Psalm 13. To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David 11:18 How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt 11:25 thou hide thy face from me? How long shall I take counsel 11:28 in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine 11:32 enemy be exalted over me? Consider and hear me, O Lord, 11:37 my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; 11:42 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; 11:45 and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved. 11:48 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in 11:54 thy salvation. I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt 11:59 bountifully with me. - Psalm 14 This is the King James Version. 12:05 To the chief Musician, A psalm of David. 12:09 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. 12:13 They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none 12:18 that doeth good. The Lord looked down from heaven upon the 12:22 children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, 12:25 and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together 12:30 become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 12:34 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my 12:39 people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord. 12:42 There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation 12:47 of the righteous. Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, 12:51 because the Lord is his refuge. O that the salvation of Israel 12:57 were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity 13:01 of his people, Jacob shall rejoice and Israel shall be glad 13:06 Psalm 15. This is the King James Version. A Psalm of David. 13:11 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell 13:18 in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh 13:23 righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. 13:26 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his 13:32 neighbor, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbor. 13:36 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoreth them 13:42 that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, 13:46 and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money 13:50 to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. 13:53 He that doeth these things shall never be moved. 13:58 Psalm 16. Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God: for in thee 14:06 do I put my trust. O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, 14:10 Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee; 14:14 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, 14:17 in whom is all my delight. Their sorrows shall be multiplied 14:22 that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood 14:25 will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips. 14:29 The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: 14:34 thou maintainest my lot. Please join me again next time 14:39 to read the word of God. |
