00:14 Hello, and welcome to His Words are Life.
00:16 I'm Kelly Mowrer and thank you for joining with me today 00:19 to read the beautiful Psalms. Let's pray before we start. 00:22 Dear God, thank you for these words that so beautifully 00:28 express both our praise to you and our cries to you for help. 00:32 Please be with us now as we read and bring to our hearts 00:36 the assurance that you hear our prayer. 00:38 Thank you so much for loving us. Amen. 00:40 We're picking up in Psalm 16, verse 6, 00:45 This is the King James Version. The lines are fallen unto me 00:50 in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. 00:54 I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: 00:58 my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. 01:01 I have set the Lord always before me: 01:04 because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 01:08 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: 01:12 my flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my 01:17 soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see 01:21 corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: 01:24 in thy presence is fulness of joy; 01:28 at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. 01:32 Psalm 17. A Prayer of David. Hear the right, O Lord, 01:38 attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not 01:43 out of feigned lips. Let my sentence come forth from thy 01:47 presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal. 01:52 Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me 01:57 in the night; thou hast tried me and shalt find nothing; 02:00 I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress. 02:04 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips 02:08 I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer. 02:12 Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. 02:17 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: 02:21 Incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. 02:26 Shew thy marvelous loving kindness, O thou that savest 02:30 by thy right hand them that put their trust in thee from those 02:34 that rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye, 02:39 hide me under the shadow of thy wings, from the wicked that 02:43 oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about. 02:47 They are enclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak 02:51 Proudly. They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set 02:55 their eyes bowing down to the earth; like as a lion that is 02:59 greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in 03:02 secret places. Arise, O Lord, disappoint him, cast him down: 03:08 deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword: 03:12 >From men which are thy hand, O Lord, from men of the world. 03:16 which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou 03:20 fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, 03:23 and leave the rest of their substance to their babes. 03:25 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: 03:30 I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. 03:35 Psalm 18. This is the King James Version. 03:39 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, to the servant of the 03:45 Lord. Who spake unto the Lord the words of this song in the 03:49 day that the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his 03:52 enemies, and from the hand of Saul: And he said, 03:55 I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, 04:00 and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, 04:06 in whom I will trust; my buckler and the horn of my salvation, 04:10 and my high tower. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy 04:15 to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. 04:20 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly 04:24 men made me afraid. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: 04:29 the snares of death prevented me. In my distress I called upon 04:33 the Lord and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his 04:38 temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. 04:42 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also 04:47 of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth. 04:51 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his 04:55 mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. 04:58 He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was 05:03 under his feet. And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, 05:06 he did fly upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness his 05:10 secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and 05:14 thick clouds of the skies. At the brightness that was before 05:18 him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire. 05:23 The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave 05:27 his voice; hail stones and coals of fire. Yea he sent out his 05:32 arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, 05:36 and discomfited them. Then the channels of waters were seen, 05:40 and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, 05:43 O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils. 05:46 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. 05:53 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated 05:58 me: for they were too strong for me. They prevented me in the day 06:02 of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay. He brought me forth 06:08 also into a large place; he delivered me, because he 06:12 delighted in me. The Lord rewarded me according to my 06:16 righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he 06:20 recompensed me. For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have 06:24 not wickedly departed from my God. For all his judgments were 06:28 before me and I did not put away his statutes from me. 06:30 I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine 06:35 iniquity. Therefore hath the Lord recompensed me according 06:40 to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands 06:43 in his eyesight. With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself 06:48 merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright; 06:53 with the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the 06:58 froward thou wilt shew thyself froward. For thou wilt save 07:01 the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks. 07:05 For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten 07:10 my darkness. For by thee I have run through a troop, and by my 07:15 God have I leaped over a wall. As for God, his way is perfect: 07:20 the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those 07:24 that trust in him. For who is God, save the Lord? 07:28 For who is a rock save our God? It is God that girdeth me with 07:34 strength, and maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like 07:38 hinds feet, and setteth me upon my high places. He teacheth my 07:42 hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken my mine arms. 07:45 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: 07:49 and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath 07:54 made me great. Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, 07:58 that my feet did not slip. I have pursued mine enemies, 08:03 and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were 08:07 consumed. I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: 08:11 they are fallen under my feet. For thou hast girded me with 08:16 strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those 08:20 that rose up against me. Thou hast also given me the necks of 08:24 mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me. 08:27 They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the Lord 08:32 but he answered them not. Then did I beat them small as 08:37 the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the 08:40 streets. Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people 08:44 and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I 08:48 have not known shall serve me. As soon as they hear of me, 08:52 they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit 08:57 themselves unto me. The strangers shall fade away, and 09:01 be afraid out of their close places. The Lord liveth; 09:05 blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation 09:09 be exalted. It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the 09:14 people under me. He delivereth me from mine enemies: Yea, thou 09:19 liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast 09:23 delivered me from the violent man. 09:25 Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O Lord, 09:29 among the heathen, and sing praises unto they name. 09:32 Great deliverance giveth he to his king: and sheweth mercy 09:37 to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore. 09:41 Psalm 19. To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. 09:46 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament 09:52 sheweth his handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night 09:56 unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, 10:01 where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through 10:04 all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. 10:07 In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, which is as a 10:12 bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a 10:16 strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of 10:20 the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is 10:25 nothing hid from the heat thereof. 10:27 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: 10:32 The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. 10:37 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: 10:42 the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. 10:46 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: 10:51 The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10:56 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine 11:02 gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11:05 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them 11:12 there is great reward. Who can understand his errors? 11:17 cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant 11:23 also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion 11:28 over me: then shall I be upright and I shall be innocent from the 11:32 great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the 11:37 meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, 11:42 O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. 11:45 Psalm 20. This is the King James Version 11:49 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. 11:54 The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble: the name of the God 11:59 of Jacob defend thee; Send thee help from the sanctuary, 12:04 and strengthen thee out of Zion; Remember all thy offerings, 12:08 and accept thy burnt sacrifice: Selah. Grant thee according to 12:14 thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. 12:16 We will rejoice in thy salvation and in the name of our God 12:21 we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions. 12:26 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed: he will hear him 12:33 from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right 12:36 hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: 12:41 but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. 12:44 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, 12:49 and stand upright. Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we 12:55 call. - Psalm 21. To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. 13:01 The king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; 13:05 and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! 13:09 Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden 13:14 the request of his lips, Selah. For thou preventest him with the 13:18 blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold 13:22 on his head. He has asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, 13:28 even length of days for ever and ever. His glory is great 13:33 in thy salvation: honor and majesty hast thou laid upon him. 13:38 For thou hast made him most blessed forever. 13:42 thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance. 13:45 For the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of 13:50 the most High he shall not be moved. Thine hand shall find out 13:55 all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that 13:59 hate thee. Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of 14:03 thine anger: the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, 14:05 and the fire shall devour them. Their fruit shalt thou destroy 14:09 from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men. 14:13 For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a 14:16 mischievous device which they are not able to perform. 14:19 Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt 14:23 make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them 14:27 Be thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength: 14:32 so will we sing and praise thy power. 14:36 Please Join me again next time. Goodbye. |
