00:16 Hello and welcome back to "His words are life."
00:18 I am Kelly Mowrer and today we're reading 00:20 together from the book of Psalms. 00:22 Let's pray before we begin. 00:25 Dear Father, please forgive us 00:27 when we have not praised you as we should, 00:32 please teach us to be more thankful, 00:36 please fill our hearts to overflowing 00:39 with the awareness of the abundance of 00:42 your blessings to us. Be with us now as we 00:45 hear your word, thank you for loving 00:47 us and we love you, amen. 00:49 I'm reading from Psalm 98 starting with 00:52 verse 5 and this is the King James Version. 00:56 Sing unto the Lord with the harp; 00:59 with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. 01:02 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a 01:04 joyful noise before the Lord, the King. 01:08 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; 01:09 the world, and they that dwell therein. 01:12 Let the floods clap their hands: 01:14 let the hills be joyful together before 01:17 the Lord; for He cometh to judge the earth: 01:21 with righteousness shall he judge the world, 01:23 and the people with equity. 01:26 Psalm 99 this is the King James Version. 01:29 The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: 01:33 he sitteth between the cherubim; 01:35 let the earth be moved. 01:37 The Lord is great in Zion; 01:39 and he is high above all the people. 01:42 Let them praise thy great and terrible name; 01:46 for it is holy. The king's strength 01:50 also loveth judgment; thou dost establish 01:53 equity, thou executest judgment and 01:56 righteousness in Jacob. Exalt ye the Lord 02:00 our God, and worship at his footstool; 02:04 for he is holy. Moses and Aaron 02:07 among his priests, and Samuel among 02:09 them that call upon his name; 02:11 they called upon the Lord, 02:13 and he answered them. He spake unto them 02:16 in the cloudy pillar: they kept his 02:19 testimonies, and the ordinance 02:21 that he gave them. Thou answeredst them, 02:24 O Lord our God: thou wast a God that 02:27 forgavest them, though thou tookest 02:29 vengeance of their inventions. 02:33 Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his 02:36 holy hill; for the Lord our God is holy. 02:41 Psalm 100 and this is the King James Version. 02:45 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, 02:47 all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: 02:51 come before his presence with singing. 02:54 Know ye that the Lord he is God: 02:57 it is he that hath made us, 02:59 and not we ourselves; we are his people, 03:03 and the sheep of his pasture. 03:05 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, 03:08 and into his courts with praise: 03:10 be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 03:14 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; 03:19 and his truth endureth to all generations. 03:24 Psalm 101, I will sing of mercy and judgment: 03:30 unto thee, O Lord, will I sing. 03:33 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. 03:37 O when wilt thou come unto me? 03:40 I will walk within my house with a 03:41 perfect heart. I will set no wicked 03:44 thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them 03:48 that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. 03:52 A forward heart shall depart from me: 03:55 I will not know a wicked person. 03:58 Whoso privily slandereth his neighbor, 04:00 him will I cut off: him that hath an 04:04 high look and a proud heart will not I suffer. 04:10 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful 04:12 of the land, that they may dwell with me: 04:16 he that walketh in a perfect way, 04:18 he shall serve me. He that worketh deceit 04:21 shall not dwell within my house: 04:24 he that telleth lies shall not tarry 04:26 in my sight. I will early destroy 04:29 all the wicked of the land; 04:31 that I may cut off all wicked doers from 04:34 the city of the Lord. Psalm 102, 04:41 Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry 04:45 come unto thee. Hide not thy face 04:48 from me in the day when I am in trouble; 04:52 incline thine ear unto me: 04:53 in the day when I call answer me speedily. 04:57 For my days are consumed like smoke, 04:59 and my bones are burned as an hearth. 05:02 My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; 05:05 so that I forget to eat my bread. 05:08 By reason of the voice of my groaning my 05:10 bones cleave to my skin. I am like a pelican of 05:13 the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert. 05:18 I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon 05:21 the house top. Mine enemies reproach 05:24 me all the day; and they that are 05:26 mad against me are sworn against me. 05:29 For I have eaten ashes like bread, 05:30 and mingled my drink with weeping. 05:34 Because of thine indignation 05:35 and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, 05:38 and cast me down. My days are like a 05:41 shadow that declineth; and I am withered 05:44 like grass. But thou, O Lord, 05:49 shall endure for ever; and thy remembrance 05:52 unto all generations. Thou shalt arise, 05:55 and have mercy upon Zion: 05:57 for the time to favor her, yea, the set time, 06:01 is come. For thy servants take pleasure 06:04 in her stones, and favor the dust thereof. 06:08 So the heathen shall fear the name 06:10 of the Lord, and all the kings of the 06:12 earth thy glory. When the Lord 06:15 shall build up Zion, he shall appear in 06:17 his glory. He will regard the prayer 06:20 of the destitute, and not despise 06:22 their prayer. This shall be written 06:25 for the generation to come: 06:27 and the people which shall be created 06:30 shall praise the Lord. For he hath looked 06:32 down from the height of his sanctuary; 06:35 from heaven did the Lord behold the earth; 06:39 To hear the groaning of the prisoner; 06:41 to loose those that are appointed to death; 06:45 To declare the name of the Lord in Zion, 06:48 and his praise in Jerusalem; 06:50 When the people are gathered together, 06:52 and the kingdoms, to serve the Lord. 06:55 He weakened my strength in the way; 06:57 he shortened my days. I said, O my God, 07:02 take me not away in the midst of my days: 07:04 thy years are throughout all generations. 07:07 Of old hast thou laid the foundation 07:09 of the earth: and the heavens 07:10 are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, 07:14 but thou shalt endure: yea, 07:16 all of them shall wax old like a garment; 07:19 as a vesture shalt thou change them, 07:20 and they shall be changed: 07:23 But thou art the same, and thy years shal l 07:26 have no end. The children of thy 07:29 servants shall continue, and their seed shall be 07:32 established before thee. Psalm 103, 07:36 this is the King James Version. 07:39 Bless the Lord, O my soul: 07:40 and all that is within me, 07:43 bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, 07:47 O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 07:52 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; 07:55 who healeth all thy diseases; 07:57 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; 08:01 who crowneth thee with loving kindness 08:03 and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy 08:07 mouth with good things; so that thy youth is 08:10 renewed like the eagle's. 08:13 The Lord executeth righteousness 08:15 and judgment for all that are oppressed. 08:20 He made known his ways unto Moses, 08:22 his acts unto the children of Israel. 08:26 The Lord is merciful and gracious, 08:30 slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. 08:34 He will not always chide: 08:35 neither will he keep his anger for ever. 08:38 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; 08:41 nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 08:45 For as the heaven is high above the earth, 08:48 so great is his mercy toward them 08:51 that fear him. As far as the east 08:55 is from the west, so far hath he removed 08:58 our transgressions from us. 09:01 Like as a father pitieth his children, 09:04 so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. 09:08 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that 09:12 we are dust. As for man, 09:15 his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, 09:19 so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth 09:21 over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof 09:25 shall know it no more. But the mercy of the 09:29 Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon 09:32 them that fear him, and his righteousness 09:36 unto children's children; 09:38 To such as keep his covenant, 09:40 and to those that remember his 09:41 commandments to do them. 09:43 The Lord hath prepared his throne in the 09:45 heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. 09:49 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, 09:51 that excel in strength, that do his commandments, 09:55 hearkening unto the voice of his word. 09:59 Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; 10:02 ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure. 10:06 Bless the Lord, all his works in all 10:09 places of his dominion: bless the Lord, 10:12 O my soul. Psalm 104, Bless the Lord, 10:17 O my soul. O Lord my God, 10:21 thou art very great; thou art clothed with 10:24 honour and majesty. Who coverest 10:27 thyself with light as with a garment: 10:30 who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: 10:34 Who layeth the beams of his chambers 10:36 in the waters: who maketh the clouds 10:38 his chariot: who walketh upon 10:40 the wings of the wind: Who maketh his 10:43 angels spirits; his ministers 10:46 a flaming fire: Who laid the foundations 10:49 of the earth, that it should not be 10:51 removed for ever. Thou coveredst it 10:55 with the deep as with a garment: 10:58 the waters stood above the mountains. 11:01 At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy 11:05 thunder they hasted away. 11:09 They go up by the mountains; 11:10 they go down by the valleys unto 11:12 the place which thou hast founded for them. 11:15 Thou hast set a bound that they may 11:18 not pass over; that they turn not 11:21 again to cover the earth. He sendeth the springs 11:25 into the valleys, which run among the hills. 11:28 They give drink to every beast of the field: 11:30 the wild asses quench their thirst. 11:33 By them shall the fowls of the heaven have 11:35 their habitation, which sing among the 11:37 branches. He watereth the hills 11:39 from his chambers: the earth is satisfied 11:43 with the fruit of thy works. 11:46 He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, 11:48 and herb for the service of man: 11:52 that he may bring forth food out of the earth; 11:55 And wine that maketh glad the 11:56 heart of man, and oil to make his 11:59 face to shine, and bread which 12:01 strengtheneth man's heart. 12:04 The trees of the Lord are full of sap; 12:06 the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted; 12:08 Where the birds make their nests: 12:11 as for the stork, the fir trees are her house. 12:14 The high hills are a refuge 12:16 for the wild goats; and the rocks for 12:18 the conies. He appointed the 12:21 moon for seasons: the sun knoweth 12:24 his going down. Thou makest darkness, 12:28 and it is night: wherein all the 12:31 beasts of the forest do creep forth. 12:33 The young lions roar after their prey, 12:36 and seek their meat from God. 12:39 The sun ariseth, they gather 12:41 themselves together, and lay them down in 12:43 their dens. Man goeth forth 12:45 unto his work and to his labor until 12:48 the evening. O Lord, how manifold are thy 12:52 works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: 12:56 the earth is full of thy riches. 12:58 So is this great and wide sea, 13:01 wherein are things creeping innumerable, 13:04 both small and great beasts. 13:07 There go the ships: there is that leviathan, 13:11 whom thou hast made to play therein. 13:14 These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest 13:17 give them their meat in due season. 13:20 That thou givest them they gather: 13:22 thou openest thine hand, 13:24 they are filled with good. 13:27 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: 13:29 thou takest away their breath, they die, 13:32 and return to their dust. Thou sendest forth 13:36 thy spirit, they are created: 13:38 and thou renewest the face of the earth. 13:41 The glory of the Lord shall endure for ever: 13:44 the Lord shall rejoice in his works. 13:47 He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: 13:48 he toucheth the hills, and they smoke. 13:51 I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live: 13:55 I will sing praise to my God while I have 13:58 my being. My meditation of 14:00 him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the Lord. 14:05 Let the sinners be consumed 14:06 out of the earth, and let the wicked be 14:07 no more. Bless thou the Lord, O my soul. 14:11 Praise ye the Lord. Psalm 105, 14:17 O give thanks unto the Lord; 14:20 call upon his name: make known his deeds 14:23 among the people. Sing unto him, 14:26 sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his 14:30 wondrous works. Glory ye in his holy name: 14:34 let the heart of them 14:35 rejoice that seek the Lord. |
