00:16 I am Kelly Mower and today 00:18 we're going to be reading 00:19 from the Book of Proverbs, 00:20 but before we start let's pray together. 00:22 Dear God thank you so much 00:25 for the words of wisdom that we will hear today. 00:29 Please quiet the noise of anything else 00:33 in our thoughts that would be a distraction 00:36 to us hearing what you have for each of us 00:39 in these words. 00:40 Thank you for hearing this pray; 00:42 I pray it in your Son's name, amen. 00:46 I'm reading from Proverbs chapter 12 00:48 beginning with verse 7 00:51 and this is the King James Version. 00:52 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: 00:56 but the house of the righteous shall stand. 00:59 A man shall be commended according 01:02 to his wisdom: but he that 01:04 is of a perverse heart shall be despised. 01:08 He that is despised, and hath a servant, 01:10 is better than he that honoureth himself, 01:12 and lacketh bread. 01:13 A righteous man regardeth 01:16 the life of his beast: 01:17 but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. 01:20 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied 01:24 with bread: but he that followeth 01:27 vain persons is void of understanding. 01:30 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: 01:34 but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit. 01:37 The wicked is snared by the transgression 01:41 of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. 01:45 A man shall be satisfied with good 01:48 by the fruit of his mouth: 01:50 and the recompence of a man's hands 01:52 shall be rendered unto him. 01:53 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: 01:56 but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. 02:00 A fool's wrath is presently known: 02:03 but a prudent man covereth shame. 02:06 He that speaketh truth sheweth 02:09 forth righteousness: 02:11 but a false witness deceit. 02:14 There is that speaketh like the piercings 02:19 of a sword: but the tongue 02:21 of the wise is health. 02:23 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: 02:27 but a lying tongue is but for a moment. 02:31 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: 02:34 but to the counsellors of peace is joy. 02:37 There shall no evil happen to the just: 02:42 but the wicked shall be filled with mischief. 02:44 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: 02:48 but they that deal truly are his delight. 02:50 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: 02:54 but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness. 02:57 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: 03:02 but the slothful shall be under tribute. 03:05 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: 03:11 but a good word maketh it glad. 03:14 The righteous is more excellent 03:17 than his neighbour: 03:18 but the way of the wicked seduceth them. 03:21 The slothful man roasteth not that 03:24 which he took in hunting: himself poor, 04:36 yet hath great riches. 04:38 The ransom of a man's life are his riches: 04:41 but the poor heareth not rebuke. 04:43 The light of the righteous rejoiceth: 04:46 but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out. 04:48 Only by pride cometh contention: 04:53 but with the well advised is wisdom. 04:57 Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: 05:01 but he that gathereth by labour shall increase. 05:04 Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: 05:09 but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. 05:14 Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: 05:18 but he that feareth the commandment 05:20 shall be rewarded. 05:21 The law of the wise is a fountain of life, 05:25 to depart from the snares of death. 05:27 Good understanding giveth favour: 05:29 but the way of transgressors is hard. 05:32 Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: 05:36 but a fool layeth open his folly. 05:39 A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: 05:42 but a faithful ambassador is health. 05:45 Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth 05:48 instruction: but he that regardeth 05:51 reproof shall be honoured. 05:52 The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: 05:56 but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil. 06:00 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: 06:05 but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. 06:10 Evil pursueth sinners: 06:13 but to the righteous good shall be repayed. 06:17 A good man leaveth an inheritance 06:20 to his children's children: 06:22 and the wealth of the sinners 06:24 is laid up for the just. 06:25 Much food is in the tillage of the poor: 06:29 but there is that is destroyed 06:31 for want of judgment. 06:32 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: 06:37 but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. 06:41 The house: 06:59 but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. 07:03 He that walketh in his uprightness 07:06 feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse 07:08 in his ways despiseth him. 07:09 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: 07:13 but the lips of the wise shall preserve them. 07:16 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: 07:21 but much increase is by the strength of the ox. 07:26 A faithful witness will not lie: 07:29 but a false witness will utter lies. 07:31 A scorner seeketh wisdom, 07:34 and findeth it not: 07:35 but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth. 07:40 Go 07:54 Fools make a mock at sin: 07:57 but among the righteous there is favour. 08:01 The heart knoweth his own bitterness; 08:05 and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy. 08:08 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: 08:12 but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish. 08:16 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, 08:21 but the end thereof are the ways of death. 08:25 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; 08:29 and the end of that mirth is heaviness. 08:32 The backslider in heart shall be filled 08:34 with his own ways: 08:35 and a good man shall be satisfied from himself. 08:38 The simple believeth every word: 08:42 but the prudent man looketh well to his going. 08:45 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: 08:48 but the fool rageth, and is confident. 08:52 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: 08:56 and a man of wicked devices is hated. 09:00 The simple inherit folly: 09:02 but the prudent are crowned with knowledge. 09:05 The evil bow before the good; 09:07 and the wicked at the gates of the righteous. 09:09 The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: 09:13 but the rich hath many friends. 09:15 He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: 09:18 but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he. 09:21 Do they not err that devise evil? 09:25 But mercy and truth shall be to them 09:28 that devise good. 09:29 In all labour there is profit: 09:33 but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury. 09:37 The crown of the wise is their riches: 09:41 but the foolishness of fools is folly. 09:43 A true witness delivereth souls: 09:48 but a deceitful witness speaketh lies. 09:51 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: 09:55 and his children shall have a place of refuge. 09:58 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, 10:01 to depart from the snares of death. 10:03 In the multitude of people is the king's honour: 10:07 but in the want of people 10:08 is the destruction of the prince. 10:11 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: 10:16 but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. 10:21 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: 10:24 but envy the rottenness of the bones. 10:27 He that oppresseth the poor 10:28 reproacheth his Maker: 10:29 but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor. 10:33 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: 10:36 but the righteous hath hope in his death. 10:39 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him 10:42 that hath understanding: 10:43 but that which is in the midst of fools 10:46 is made known. 10:47 Righteousness exalteth a nation: 10:50 but sin is a reproach to any people. 10:54 The king's favour is toward a wise servant: 10:58 but his wrath is against him that causeth shame. 11:02 Proverbs chapter 15, 11:05 this is the King James Version. 11:07 A soft answer turneth away wrath: 11:11 but grievous words stir up anger. 11:14 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: 11:18 but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. 11:21 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, 11:25 beholding the evil and the good. 11:27 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: 11:30 but perverseness therein 11:33 is a breach in the spirit. 11:34 A fool despiseth his father's instruction: 11:38 but he that regardeth reproof is prudent. 11:41 In the house of the righteous 11:44 is much treasure: 11:46 but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble. 11:49 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: 11:52 but the heart of the foolish doeth not so. 11:55 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination 11:58 to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright 12:00 is his delight. The way of the wicked 12:04 is an abomination unto the LORD: 12:05 but he loveth him that followeth 12:07 after righteousness. 12:08 Correction is grievous unto him 12:12 that forsaketh the way: 12:13 and he that hateth reproof shall die. 12:15 Hell and destruction are before the LORD: 12:18 how much more then the hearts 12:20 of the children of men? 12:21 A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: 12:25 neither will he go unto the wise. 12:27 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: 12:30 but by sorrow of the heart 12:32 the spirit is broken. 12:33 The heart of him that hath understanding 12:37 seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools 12:40 feedeth on foolishness. 12:42 All the days of the afflicted are evil: 12:46 but he that is of a merry heart 12:49 hath a continual feast. 12:52 Better is little with the fear of the LORD 12:55 than great treasure and trouble therewith. 12:58 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, 13:01 than a stalled ox and hatred therewith. 13:04 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: 13:08 but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife. 13:13 The way of the slothful man 13:15 is as an hedge of thorns: 13:17 but the way of the righteous is made plain. 13:20 A wise son maketh a glad father: 13:23 but a foolish man despiseth his mother. 13:26 Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: 13:29 but a man of understanding 13:32 walketh uprightly. 13:33 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: 13:37 but in the multitude of counsellors 13:40 they are established. 13:42 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: 13:46 and a word spoken in due season, 13:48 how good is it! 13:50 The way of life is above to the wise, 13:54 that he may depart from hell beneath. 13:56 The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: 14:01 but he will establish the border of the widow. 14:04 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination 14:07 to the LORD: but the words 14:08 of the pure are pleasant words. 14:10 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; 14:14 but he that hateth gifts shall live. 14:17 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: 14:21 but the mouth of the wicked 14:22 poureth out evil things. 14:25 The LORD is far from the wicked: 14:27 but he heareth the prayer of the righteous. 14:29 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: 14:33 and a good report maketh 14:35 the bones fat.
