00:15 Hello and welcome to "His Words Are Life."
00:18 I'm Kelly Mowrer and today we're going 00:20 to be reading together from the Book of Ezekiel. 00:22 But let's pray together before we start. 00:25 Dear heavenly Father, thank you so much 00:28 that You have redeemed us, and You've called us 00:31 to a new life with You. 00:33 Please send Your Holy Spirit now 00:35 to guide our ears as we hear Your words, 00:38 I pray in the name of Jesus, amen. 00:41 We are reading in Ezekiel Chapter 11, 00:44 picking up with verse 19 00:46 and this is the King James Version. 00:49 "And I will give them one heart, 00:52 and I will put a new spirit within you, 00:55 and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, 00:59 and will give them an heart of flesh, 01:01 That they may walk in my statutes, 01:03 and keep mine ordinances, and do them, 01:06 and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 01:11 But as for them whose heart walketh 01:13 after the heart of their detestable things 01:15 and their abominations, I will recompense their way 01:19 upon their own heads, saith the Lord God. 01:24 Then did the cherubims lift up their wings, 01:26 and the wheels beside them, 01:29 and the glory of the God of Israel 01:31 was over them above. 01:33 And the glory of the Lord went up 01:35 from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain 01:38 which is on the east side of the city. 01:41 Afterwards the spirit took me up, 01:43 and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God 01:46 into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. 01:49 So the vision that I had seen went up from me. 01:53 Then I spake unto them of the captivity all the things 01:56 that the Lord had shewed me." 02:00 Continuing in the Book of Ezekiel Chapter 12 02:02 and this is the King James Version. 02:05 "The word of the Lord also came unto me, 02:07 saying, Son of man, thou dwellest 02:11 in the midst of a rebellious house, 02:14 which have eyes to see, and see not, 02:18 they have ears to hear, and hear not, 02:21 for they are a rebellious house. 02:23 Therefore, thou son of man, 02:25 prepare thee stuff for removing, 02:28 and remove by day in their sight, 02:31 and thou shalt remove from thy place 02:33 to another place in their sight, 02:35 it may be they will consider, 02:37 though they be a rebellious house. 02:40 Then shalt thou bring forth thy stuff 02:42 by day in their sight, as stuff for removing, 02:45 and thou shalt go forth at even in their sight, 02:48 as they that go forth into captivity. 02:52 Dig thou through the wall in their sight, 02:54 and carry out thereby. 02:56 In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulders, 03:00 and carry it forth in the twilight, 03:02 thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the ground, 03:06 for I have set thee for a sign 03:08 unto the house of Israel. 03:12 And I did so as I was commanded, 03:14 I brought forth my stuff by day, 03:16 as stuff for captivity, and in the even 03:18 I digged through the wall with mine hand, 03:21 I brought it forth in the twilight, 03:22 and I bare it upon my shoulder in their sight. 03:25 And in the morning came the word of the Lord unto me, 03:27 saying, Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, 03:30 the rebellious house, said unto thee, 03:32 what doest thou? Say thou unto them. 03:36 Thus saith the Lord God, 03:39 This burden concerneth the prince in Jerusalem, 03:42 and all the house of Israel that are among them. 03:45 Say, I am your sign, like as I have done, 03:49 so shall it be done unto them, 03:51 they shall remove and go into captivity. 03:54 And the prince that is among them 03:56 shall bear upon his shoulder in the twilight, 03:58 and shall go forth, they shall dig through 04:00 they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby, 04:04 he shall cover his face, 04:06 that he see not the ground with his eyes. 04:09 My net also will I spread upon him, 04:12 and he shall be taken in my snare, 04:15 and I will bring him to Babylon 04:16 to the land of the the Chaldeans, 04:19 yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there. 04:23 And I will scatter toward every wind 04:25 all that are about him to help him, 04:28 and all his bands, and I will draw out the sword after them. 04:33 And they shall know that I am the Lord, 04:35 when I shall scatter them among the nations, 04:37 and disperse them in the countries. 04:40 But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, 04:42 from the famine, and from the pestilence, 04:45 that they may declare all their abominations 04:48 among the heathen whither they come, 04:50 and they shall know that I am the Lord. 04:53 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 04:56 Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, 04:59 and drink thy water with trembling 05:01 and with carefulness, 05:03 And say unto the people of the land, 05:06 Thus saith the Lord God of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, 05:09 and of the land of Israel, They shall eat their bread 05:12 with carefulness, and drink their water with astonishment, 05:15 that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, 05:19 because of the violence of all them that dwell therein. 05:23 And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, 05:26 and the land shall be desolate, 05:28 and ye shall know that I am the Lord. 05:31 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of man, 05:34 what is that proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, 05:37 saying, the days are prolonged, and every vision faileth? 05:41 Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord God, 05:44 I will make this proverb to cease, 05:46 and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel, 05:50 but say unto them, The days are at hand, 05:52 and the effect of every vision. 05:54 For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering 05:58 divination within the house of Israel. 06:00 For I am the Lord, I will speak, 06:04 and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass, 06:08 it shall be no more prolonged, for in your days, 06:12 O rebellious house, will I say the word, 06:14 and will perform it, saith the Lord God. 06:18 Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying. 06:20 Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, 06:24 the vision that he seeth is for many days to come, 06:28 and he prophesieth of the times that are far off. 06:32 Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God, 06:36 There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, 06:41 but the word which I have spoken shall be done, 06:44 saith the Lord God." 06:47 Continuing to read in Ezekiel Chapter 13, 06:50 this is the King James Version. 06:52 "And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of man, 06:56 prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, 07:00 and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their 07:03 own hearts, Hear ye the word of the Lord, 07:06 Thus saith the Lord God, Woe unto the foolish prophets, 07:10 that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! 07:14 O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. 07:18 Ye have not gone up into the gaps, 07:20 neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel 07:22 to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord. 07:25 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, 07:28 The Lord saith, and the Lord hath not sent them, 07:32 and they have made others to hope 07:34 that they would confirm the word. 07:37 Have ye not seen a vain vision, 07:40 and have ye not spoken a lying divination, 07:43 whereas ye say, The Lord saith it, 07:46 albeit I have not spoken? 07:49 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, 07:52 because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, 07:56 therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord God. 07:59 And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, 08:03 and that divine lies, they shall not be 08:06 in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written 08:10 in the writing of the house of Israel, 08:11 neither shall they enter into the land of Israel, 08:15 and ye shall know that I am the Lord God. 08:19 Because, even because they have seduced my people, 08:23 saying, Peace, and there was no peace, 08:27 and one built up a wall, and, lo, 08:29 others daubed it with untempered morter, 08:31 Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, 08:35 that it shall fall, there shall be an overflowing 08:39 shower, and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall, 08:43 and a stormy wind shall rend it. 08:47 Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, 08:52 Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it? 08:56 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, 08:58 I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury, 09:02 and there shall be an overflowing shower 09:05 in mine anger, 09:06 and great hailstones in my fury to consume it. 09:10 So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed 09:12 with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, 09:16 so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, 09:19 and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed 09:22 in the midst thereof, 09:23 and ye shall know that I am the Lord. 09:28 Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, 09:31 and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, 09:34 and will say unto you, The wall is no more, 09:37 neither they that daubed it, 09:39 To wit, the prophets of Israel 09:41 which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, 09:43 and which see visions of peace for her, 09:46 and there is no peace, saith the Lord God. 09:49 Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face 09:52 against the daughters of thy people, 09:54 which prophesy out of their own heart, 09:57 and prophesy thou against them, And say, 09:59 Thus saith the Lord God, Woe to the women that sew pillows 10:03 to all armholes, and make kerchiefs 10:05 upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! 10:09 Will ye hunt the souls of my people, 10:12 and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you? 10:16 And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls 10:19 of barley and for pieces of bread, 10:22 to slay the souls that should not die, 10:24 and to save the souls alive that should not live, 10:27 by your lying to my people that hear your lies? 10:32 Wherefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, 10:35 I am against your pillows, wherewith ye 10:38 there hunt the souls to make them fly, 10:40 and I will tear them from your arms, 10:42 and will let the souls go, even the souls 10:44 that ye hunt to make them fly. 10:47 Your kerchiefs also will I tear, 10:49 and deliver my people out of your hand, 10:51 and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted, 10:54 and ye shall know that I am the Lord. 10:58 Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, 11:02 whom I have not made sad, and strengthened 11:06 the hands of the wicked, 11:07 that he should not return from his wicked way, 11:10 by promising him life, Therefore ye shall 11:12 see no more vanity, nor divine divinations, 11:17 for I will deliver my people out of your hand, 11:20 and ye shall know that I am the Lord." 11:25 Continuing with Ezekiel Chapter 14 11:27 and this is the King James Version. 11:30 "Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, 11:34 and sat before me. 11:36 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 11:38 Son of man, these men have set up 11:41 their idols in their heart, and put the stumbling block 11:45 of their iniquity before their face, 11:48 should I be enquired of at all by them? 11:52 Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, 11:53 Thus saith the Lord God, Every man of the house of Israel 11:57 that setteth up his idols in his heart, 11:59 and putteth the stumbling block of his iniquity 12:01 before his face, and cometh to the prophet, 12:04 I the Lord will answer him that cometh 12:07 according to the multitude of his idols, 12:10 That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, 12:13 because they are all estranged from me through their idols. 12:18 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, 12:20 Thus saith the Lord God, Repent, 12:24 and turn yourselves from your idols, 12:26 and turn away your faces from all your abominations. 12:31 For every one of the house of Israel, 12:33 or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, 12:36 which separateth himself from me, 12:39 and setteth up his idols in his heart, 12:41 and putteth the stumbling block of his iniquity 12:43 before his face, and cometh to a prophet 12:45 to enquire of him concerning me, 12:48 I the Lord will answer him by myself, 12:51 And I will set my face against that man, 12:53 and will make him a sign and a proverb, 12:56 and I will cut him off from the midst of my people, 12:59 and ye shall know that I am the Lord. 13:04 And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, 13:08 I the Lord have deceived that prophet, 13:10 and I will stretch out my hand upon him, 13:12 and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel. 13:15 And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity, 13:19 the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment 13:21 of him that seeketh unto him, 13:23 That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, 13:28 neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions, 13:32 but that they may be my people, 13:34 and I may be their God, saith the Lord God. 13:38 The word of the Lord came again to me, saying, 13:41 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me 13:44 by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out 13:47 mine hand upon it, and will break the staff 13:50 of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, 13:52 and will cut off man and beast from it, 13:56 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, 13:59 were in it, they should deliver but their own souls 14:02 by their righteousness, saith the Lord God. 14:05 If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, 14:08 and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, 14:10 that no man may pass through because of the beasts, 14:13 Though these three men were in it, as I live, 14:15 saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither sons 14:18 nor daughters, they only shall be delivered, 14:21 but the land shall be desolate. 14:23 Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, 14:26 Sword, go through the land, so that I cut off man 14:28 and beast from it, Though these three men 14:31 were in it, as I live, saith the Lord God, 14:33 they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, 14:37 but they only shall be delivered themselves." |
