00:16 Hello and welcome to "His Words Are Life."
00:18 I'm Kelly Mowrer and today we're go to read together
00:21 from the Book of Ezekiel.
00:22 But first let's pray.
00:25 Dear Heavenly Father thank you for Your love
00:27 that has redeemed us and saved us and freed us.
00:32 And now Father please be with us
00:34 as we read Your word, we want to know You more
00:37 and we want these words to help us
00:39 to become more like You.
00:41 Please send the Holy Spirit to be with us.
00:43 Asking the name of Jesus. Amen.
00:46 Reading in the Book of Ezekiel, Chapter 28,
00:50 and God is speaking about
00:52 when He will gather together again Israel,
00:56 who has been scattered. Picking up in verse 26.
01:01 And they shall dwell safely therein,
01:04 and shall build houses, and plant vineyards.
01:06 Yea, they shall dwell with confidence,
01:09 when I have executed judgments upon all those
01:12 that despise them round about them,
01:14 and they shall know that I am the Lord their God.
01:21 Continuing in Ezekiel, Chapter 29,
01:23 and this is the King James Version.
01:26 In the tenth year, in the tenth month,
01:28 in the twelfth day of the month,
01:31 the word of the Lord came unto me,
01:33 saying, "Son of man,
01:35 set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt,
01:37 and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt.
01:41 Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord God.
01:46 Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt.
01:49 The great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers,
01:53 which hath said, My river is mine own,
01:56 and I have made it for myself.
01:58 But I will put hooks in thy jaws,
02:00 and I will cause the fish of thy rivers
02:03 to stick unto thy scales, and I will bring thee up
02:06 out of the midst of thy rivers.
02:09 And all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales.
02:13 And I will leave thee thrown into the wilderness,
02:16 thee and all the fish of thy rivers,
02:19 thou shalt fall upon the open fields,
02:21 thou shalt not be brought together,
02:22 nor gathered.
02:24 I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the field
02:27 and to the fowls of the heaven.
02:29 And all the inhabitants of Egypt
02:30 shall know that I am the Lord, because they have been
02:33 a staff of reed to the house of Israel.
02:37 When they took hold of thee by thy hand,
02:39 thou didst break, and rend all their shoulder,
02:43 and when they leaned upon thee, thou brakest,
02:46 and madest all their loins to be at a stand.
02:50 Therefore thus saith the Lord God.
02:52 Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee,
02:55 and cut off man and beast out of thee.
02:58 And the land of Egypt shall be desolate and waste,
03:02 and they shall know that I am the Lord,
03:05 because he hath said,
03:06 The river is mine, and I have made it.
03:10 Behold, therefore I am against thee,
03:12 and against thy rivers,
03:13 and I will make the land of Egypt
03:15 utterly waste and desolate,
03:17 from the tower of Syene
03:19 even unto the border of Ethiopia.
03:22 No foot of man shall pass through it,
03:24 nor foot of beast shall pass through it,
03:26 neither shall it be inhabited forty years.
03:29 And I will make the land of Egypt desolate
03:31 in the midst of the countries that are desolate.
03:33 And her cities among the cities
03:35 that are laid waste shall be desolate forty years,
03:38 and I will scatter the Egyptians
03:40 among the nations,
03:41 and will disperse them through the countries.
03:44 Yet thus saith the Lord God,
03:46 at the end of forty years
03:47 will I gather the Egyptians from the people
03:50 whither they were scattered.
03:52 And I will bring again the captivity of Egypt,
03:54 and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros,
03:58 into the land of their habitation,
04:00 and they shall be there a base kingdom.
04:02 It shall be the basest of the kingdoms,
04:05 neither shall it exalt itself any more above the nations,
04:08 for I will diminish them,
04:10 that they shall no more rule over the nations.
04:14 And it shall be no more
04:15 the confidence of the house of Israel,
04:17 which bringeth their iniquity to remembrance,
04:20 when they shall look after them.
04:22 But they shall know that I am the Lord God.
04:26 And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year,
04:30 in the first month, in the first day of the month.
04:33 The word of the Lord came unto me,
04:35 saying, Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon
04:39 caused his army to serve a great service against Tyrus.
04:44 Every head was made bald,
04:46 and every shoulder was peeled.
04:49 Yet had he no wages, nor his army, for Tyrus,
04:52 for the service that he had served against it.
04:56 Therefore thus saith the Lord God.
04:59 Behold, I will give the land of Egypt
05:02 unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon,
05:05 and he shall take her multitude,
05:07 and take her spoil, and take her prey,
05:10 and it shall be the wages for his army.
05:13 I have given him the land of Egypt for his labour
05:16 wherewith he served against it,
05:17 because they wrought for me, saith the Lord God.
05:20 In that day will I cause
05:22 the horn of the house of Israel to bud forth,
05:24 and I will give thee the opening of the mouth
05:26 in the midst of them.
05:28 And they shall know that I am the Lord.
05:32 Continuing in the Book of Ezekiel, Chapter 30,
05:36 and this is the King James Version.
05:39 The word of the Lord came again unto me,
05:41 saying, Son of man, prophesy and say,
05:45 Thus saith the Lord God, Howl ye, Woe worth the day,
05:50 For the day is near,
05:51 even the day of the Lord is near,
05:53 a cloudy day, it shall be the time of the heathen.
05:57 And the sword shall come upon Egypt,
05:59 and great pain shall be in Ethiopia,
06:01 when the slain shall fall in Egypt,
06:04 and they shall take away her multitude,
06:06 and her foundations shall be broken down.
06:10 Ethiopia, and Libya, and Lydia,
06:13 and all the mingled people, and Chub,
06:16 and the men of the land that is in league,
06:19 shall fall with them by the sword.
06:22 Thus saith the Lord,
06:23 They also that uphold Egypt shall fall,
06:27 and the pride of her power shall come down,
06:30 from the tower of Syene shall they fall in it
06:33 by the sword, saith the Lord God.
06:35 And they shall be desolate in the midst of the countries
06:37 that are desolate, and her cities
06:39 shall be in the midst of the cities
06:41 that are wasted.
06:43 And they shall know that I am the Lord,
06:45 when I have set a fire in Egypt,
06:47 and when all her helpers shall be destroyed.
06:50 In that day shall messengers go forth from me in ships
06:54 to make the careless Ethiopians afraid,
06:58 and great pain shall come upon them,
07:00 as in the day of Egypt, for, lo, it cometh.
07:04 Thus saith the Lord God,
07:05 I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease
07:08 by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar
07:10 king of Babylon.
07:11 He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations,
07:15 shall be brought to destroy the land,
07:18 and they shall draw their swords against Egypt,
07:21 and fill the land with the slain.
07:24 And I will make the rivers dry,
07:26 and sell the land into the hand of the wicked,
07:29 and I will make the land waste,
07:30 and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers,
07:35 I the Lord have spoken it.
07:37 Thus saith the Lord God, I will also destroy the idols,
07:41 and I will cause their images to cease out of Noph,
07:45 and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt,
07:49 and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.
07:52 And I will make Pathros desolate,
07:54 and will set fire in Zoan,
07:56 and will execute judgments in No.
07:59 And I will pour my fury upon Sin,
08:01 the strength of Egypt,
08:02 and I will cut off the multitude of No.
08:05 And I will set fire in Egypt, Sin shall have great pain,
08:08 and No shall be rent asunder,
08:10 and Noph shall have distresses daily.
08:13 The young men of Aven and of Pibeseth
08:16 shall fall by the sword,
08:18 and these cities shall go into captivity.
08:22 At Tehaphnehes also the day shall be darkened,
08:24 when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt,
08:26 and the pomp of her strength shall cease in her,
08:30 as for her, a cloud shall cover her,
08:32 and her daughters shall go into captivity.
08:35 Thus will I execute judgments in Egypt,
08:38 and they shall know that I am the Lord.
08:42 And it came to pass in the eleventh year,
08:44 in the first month, in the seventh day of the month,
08:46 that the word of the Lord came unto me,
08:48 saying, Son of man,
08:50 I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt,
08:53 and, lo, it shall not be bound up to be healed,
08:57 to put a roller to bind it,
08:58 to make it strong to hold the sword.
09:01 Therefore thus saith the Lord God,
09:04 Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt,
09:07 and will break his arms, the strong,
09:10 and that which was broken,
09:11 and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.
09:16 And I will scatter the Egyptians
09:17 among the nations,
09:18 and will disperse them through the countries.
09:21 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon,
09:24 and put my sword in his hand,
09:26 but I will break Pharaohs arms.
09:29 And he shall groan before him
09:31 with the groanings of a deadly wounded man.
09:35 But I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon,
09:38 and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down,
09:41 and they shall know that I am the Lord,
09:43 when I shall put my sword
09:44 into the hand of the king of Babylon,
09:46 and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Egypt.
09:50 And I will scatter the Egyptians
09:52 among the nations,
09:53 and disperse them among the countries.
09:56 And they shall know that I am the Lord.
10:00 Continuing in the Book of Ezekiel,
10:02 Chapter 31, this is the King James Version.
10:05 And it came to pass in the eleventh year,
10:08 in the third month, in the first day of the month,
10:12 that the word of the Lord came unto me,
10:14 saying, Son of man,
10:16 speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt,
10:17 and to his multitude,
10:19 Whom art thou like in thy greatness?
10:23 Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon
10:26 with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud,
10:30 and of an high stature,
10:31 and his top was among the thick boughs.
10:34 The waters made him great,
10:36 the deep set him up on high
10:38 with her rivers running round about his plants,
10:41 and sent her little rivers
10:42 unto all the trees of the field.
10:45 Therefore his height was exalted
10:46 above all the trees of the field,
10:48 and his boughs were multiplied,
10:49 and his branches became long
10:51 because of the multitude of waters,
10:53 when he shot forth.
10:55 All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs,
10:58 and under his branches did all the beasts of the field
11:01 bring forth their young,
11:03 and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.
11:07 Thus was he fair in his greatness,
11:09 in the length of his branches,
11:11 for his root was by great waters.
11:13 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him,
11:17 the fir trees were not like his boughs,
11:19 and the chestnut trees were not like his branches,
11:22 nor any tree in the garden of God
11:24 was like unto him in his beauty.
11:27 I have made him fair
11:28 by the multitude of his branches,
11:30 so that all the trees of Eden,
11:32 that were in the garden of God, envied him.
11:37 Therefore thus saith the Lord God,
11:39 Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height,
11:44 and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs,
11:46 and his heart is lifted up in his height,
11:50 I have therefore delivered him
11:51 into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen.
11:55 He shall surely deal with him,
11:57 I have driven him out for his wickedness.
12:00 And strangers, the terrible of the nations,
12:03 have cut him off, and have left him,
12:05 upon the mountains and in all the valleys
12:08 his branches are fallen,
12:09 and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land,
12:13 and all the people of the earth are gone down
12:15 down from his shadow, and have left him.
12:17 Upon his ruin shall all the fowls
12:20 of the heaven remain,
12:21 and all the beasts of the field
12:23 shall be upon his branches.
12:25 To the end that none of all the trees by the waters
12:28 exalt themselves for their height,
12:30 neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs,
12:33 neither their trees stand up in their height,
12:36 all that drink water,
12:38 for they are all delivered unto death,
12:40 to the nether parts of the earth,
12:42 in the midst of the children of men,
12:44 with them that go down to the pit.
12:48 Thus saith the Lord God,
12:49 In the day when he went down to the grave
12:51 I caused a mourning, I covered the deep for him,
12:55 and I restrained the floods thereof,
12:57 and the great waters were stayed,
12:59 and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him,
13:01 and all the trees of the field fainted for him.
13:06 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall,
13:09 when I cast him down to hell with them
13:12 that descend into the pit, and all the trees of Eden,
13:15 the choice and best of Lebanon,
13:18 all that drink water, shall be comforted
13:21 in the nether parts of the earth.
13:23 They also went down into hell with him
13:25 unto them that be slain with the sword,
13:28 and they that were his arm,
13:29 that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.
13:34 To whom art thou thus like in glory
13:37 and in greatness among the trees of Eden?
13:41 Yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden
13:43 unto the nether parts of the earth,
13:45 thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised
13:48 with them that be slain by the sword.
13:51 This is Pharaoh and all his multitude,
13:54 saith the Lord God.
13:57 Continuing in Ezekiel, Chapter 32,
14:00 And it came to pass in the twelfth year,
14:03 in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month,
14:06 that the word of the Lord came unto me,
14:08 saying, Son of man,
14:09 take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt,
14:11 and say unto him, Thou art like
14:14 a young lion of the nations,
14:16 and thou art as a whale in the seas,
14:18 and thou camest forth with thy rivers,
14:20 and troubledst the waters with thy feet,
14:23 and fouledst their rivers.
14:25 Thus saith the Lord God,
14:27 I will therefore spread out my net over thee
14:30 with a company of many people,
14:33 and they shall bring thee up in my net.
