00:15 Hello and welcome to "His Words are Life."
00:17 I'm Kelly Mowrer and today we're going to be reading
00:20 together from the Book of Ezekiel,
00:22 but first let's pray.
00:24 Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much
00:26 that You're our redeemer and our shepherd
00:30 that You come after us and restore us to Yourself.
00:35 We need to be brought back home to You again.
00:39 Please be with us now as we read
00:41 and send Your Holy Spirit to help us
00:43 to understand the message You've for each of us.
00:46 We love You so much and thank You for loving us. Amen.
00:50 We're reading in the Book of Ezekiel
00:52 in Chapter 36 beginning with verse 34
00:56 and this is the King James Version.
00:59 "And the desolate land shall be tilled,
01:02 whereas it lay desolate
01:03 in the sight of all that passed by.
01:04 And they shall say, This land that was desolate
01:06 is become like the garden of Eden,
01:09 and the waste and desolate
01:10 and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.
01:13 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know
01:17 that I the Lord build the ruined places,
01:21 and plant that, that was desolate,
01:24 I the Lord have spoken it, and I will do it.
01:28 Thus saith the Lord God,
01:29 I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel,
01:32 to do it for them,
01:34 I will increase them with men like a flock.
01:37 As the holy flock,
01:38 as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts,
01:42 so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men,
01:46 and they shall know that I am the Lord."
01:51 Continuing to read in Ezekiel Chapter 37,
01:54 this is the King James Version.
01:57 "The hand of the Lord was upon me,
01:59 and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord,
02:01 and set me down in the midst of the valley
02:04 which was full of bones,
02:06 And caused me to pass by them round about,
02:08 and, behold, there were very many in the open valley,
02:12 and, lo, they were very dry.
02:15 And he said unto me, Son of man,
02:18 can these bones live?
02:20 And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.
02:25 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones,
02:29 and say unto them,
02:30 O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.
02:34 Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones,
02:37 Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you,
02:41 and ye shall live,
02:43 And I will lay sinews upon you,
02:45 and will bring up flesh upon you,
02:47 and cover you with skin, and put breath in you,
02:50 and ye shall live,
02:51 and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
02:54 So I prophesied as I was commanded,
02:58 and as I prophesied, there was a noise,
03:02 and behold a shaking, and the bones came together,
03:06 bone to his bone.
03:08 And when I beheld, lo,
03:10 the sinews and the flesh came up upon them,
03:14 and the skin covered them above,
03:17 but there was no breath in them.
03:20 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind,
03:24 prophesy, son of man,
03:25 and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God,
03:28 Come from the four winds,
03:30 O breath, and breathe upon these slain,
03:34 that they may live.
03:36 So I prophesied as he commanded me,
03:39 and the breath came into them,
03:41 and they lived, and stood up upon their feet,
03:45 an exceeding great army.
03:49 Then he said unto me, Son of man,
03:51 these bones are the whole house of Israel,
03:55 behold, they say, Our bones are dried,
03:58 and our hope is lost, we are cut off for our parts.
04:04 Therefore prophesy and say unto them,
04:06 Thus saith the Lord God,
04:08 Behold, O my people,
04:11 I will open your graves,
04:13 and cause you to come up out of your graves,
04:16 and bring you into the land of Israel.
04:19 And ye shall know that I am the Lord,
04:22 when I have opened your graves,
04:23 O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
04:27 And shall put my spirit in you,
04:29 and ye all live,
04:31 and I shall place you in your own land,
04:34 then shall ye know that I the Lord have spoken it,
04:38 and performed it, saith the Lord.
04:41 The word of the Lord came again unto me,
04:43 saying, Moreover, thou son of man,
04:46 take thee one stick, and write upon it,
04:49 For Judah, and for the children of Israel
04:53 his companions, then take another stick,
04:56 and write upon it, For Joseph,
04:59 the stick of Ephraim and for all the house of Israel
05:02 his companions, And join them one to another into one stick,
05:08 and they shall become one in thine hand.
05:10 And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee,
05:13 saying, Wilt thou not shew us
05:15 what thou meanest by these?
05:17 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God,
05:20 Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph,
05:22 which is in the hand of Ephraim,
05:24 and the tribes of Israel his fellows,
05:26 and will put them with him,
05:28 even with the stick of Judah,
05:29 and make them one stick,
05:31 and they shall be one in mine hand.
05:34 And the sticks whereon thou writest
05:37 shall be in thine hand before their eyes.
05:40 And say unto them,
05:41 Thus saith the Lord God,
05:43 Behold, I will take the children of Israel
05:45 from among the heathen, whither they be gone,
05:47 and will gather them on every side,
05:50 and bring them into their own land,
05:53 And I will make them one nation
05:54 in the land upon the mountains of Israel,
05:57 and one king shall be king to them all,
05:59 and they shall be no more two nations,
06:02 neither shall they be divided
06:03 into two kingdoms any more at all.
06:06 Neither shall they defile themselves
06:07 any more with their idols,
06:09 nor with their detestable things,
06:11 nor with any of their transgressions,
06:13 but I will save them out of all their dwelling places,
06:16 wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them,
06:20 so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.
06:26 And David my servant shall be king over them,
06:28 and they all shall have one shepherd,
06:30 they shall also walk in my judgments,
06:33 and observe my statutes, and do them.
06:36 And they shall dwell in the land
06:37 that I have given unto Jacob my servant,
06:40 wherein your fathers have dwelt,
06:42 and they shall dwell therein,
06:43 even they, and their children,
06:44 and their children's children for ever,
06:47 and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.
06:52 Moreover I will make
06:53 a covenant of peace with them,
06:55 it shall be an everlasting covenant with them,
06:58 and I will place them, and multiply them,
07:01 and will set my sanctuary
07:03 in the midst of them for evermore.
07:05 My tabernacle also shall be with them,
07:07 yea, I will be their God,
07:10 and they shall be my people.
07:13 And the heathen shall know that I the Lord
07:16 do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary
07:19 shall be in the midst of them for evermore."
07:24 Continuing with Ezekiel, Chapter 38,
07:27 this is the King James Version.
07:29 "And the word of the Lord came unto me,
07:31 saying, Son of man,
07:33 set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog,
07:36 the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal,
07:39 and prophesy against him,
07:40 And say, Thus saith the Lord God,
07:42 Behold, I am against thee,
07:43 O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal,
07:47 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws,
07:50 and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army,
07:53 horses and horsemen, all of them
07:55 clothed with all sorts of armour,
07:57 even a great company with bucklers and shields,
07:59 all of them handling swords,
08:02 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them,
08:05 all of them with shield and helmetGomer,
08:08 and all his bands,
08:10 the house of Togarmah of the north quarters,
08:12 and all his bands, and many people with thee.
08:16 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself,
08:19 thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee,
08:22 and be thou a guard unto them.
08:24 After many days thou shalt be visited,
08:28 in the latter years thou shalt come into the land
08:30 that is brought back from the sword,
08:32 and is gathered out of many people,
08:33 against the mountains of Israel,
08:35 which have been always waste,
08:37 but it is brought forth out of the nations,
08:39 and they shall dwell safely all of them.
08:42 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm,
08:44 thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land,
08:46 thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.
08:50 Thus saith the Lord God,
08:51 It shall also come to pass,
08:53 that at the same time shall things come into thy mind,
08:57 and thou shalt think an evil thought,
08:58 And thou halt say,
08:59 I will go up to the land of unwalled villages,
09:02 I will go to them that are at rest,
09:05 that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls,
09:09 and having neither bars nor gates,
09:12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey,
09:15 to turn thine hand upon the desolate places
09:18 that are now inhabited, and upon the people
09:20 that are gathered out of the nations,
09:21 which have gotten cattle and goods,
09:23 that dwell in the midst of the land. Sheba,
09:26 and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish,
09:28 with all the young lions thereof,
09:31 shall say unto thee,
09:33 Art thou come to take a spoil?
09:35 hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey?
09:39 to carry away silver and gold,
09:41 to take away cattle and goods,
09:43 to take a great spoil?
09:46 Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog,
09:50 Thus saith the Lord God,
09:53 In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely,
09:56 shalt thou not know it?
09:58 And thou shalt come from thy place
10:00 out of the north parts, thou, and many people
10:02 with thee, all of them riding upon horses,
10:04 a great company, and a mighty army,
10:06 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel,
10:09 as a cloud to cover the land,
10:11 it shall be in the latter days,
10:13 and I will bring thee against my land,
10:15 that the heathen may know me,
10:17 when I shall be sanctified in thee,
10:19 O Gog, before their eyes.
10:22 Thus saith the Lord God,
10:24 Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time
10:28 by my servants the prophets of Israel,
10:31 which prophesied in those days many years
10:34 that I would bring thee against them?
10:36 And it shall come to pass at the same time
10:39 when Gog shall come against the land of Israel,
10:42 saith the Lord God,
10:44 that my fury shall come up in my face.
10:47 For in my jealousy and in the fire
10:50 of my wrath have I spoken,
10:52 Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking
10:56 in the land of Israel, So that the fishes of the sea,
10:59 and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field,
11:01 and all creeping things that creep upon the earth,
11:04 and all the men that are upon the face of the earth,
11:07 shall shake at my presence,
11:10 and the mountains shall be thrown down,
11:12 and the steep places shall fall,
11:14 and every wall shall fall to the ground.
11:18 And I will call for a sword
11:20 against him throughout all my mountains,
11:22 saith the Lord God,
11:23 everyman's sword shall be against his brother.
11:27 And I will plead against him
11:29 with pestilence and with blood,
11:30 and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands,
11:33 and upon the many people that are with him,
11:35 an overflowing rain, and great hailstones,
11:39 fire, and brimstone.
11:42 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself,
11:46 and I will be known in the eyes of many nations,
11:50 and they shall know that I am the Lord."
11:55 Continuing in Ezekiel, Chapter 39
11:58 and this is the King James Version.
12:00 "Therefore, thou son of man,
12:03 prophesy against Gog, and say,
12:06 Thus saith the Lord God,
12:07 Behold, I am against thee,
12:10 O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal,
12:13 And I will turn thee back,
12:15 and leave but the sixth part of thee,
12:20 and will cause thee to come up from the north parts,
12:22 and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel,
12:25 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand,
12:28 and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
12:31 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel,
12:33 thou, and all thy bands,
12:35 and the people that is with thee,
12:37 I will give thee unto the ravenous
12:39 birds of every sort,
12:40 and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
12:43 Thou shalt fall upon the open field,
12:46 for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God.
12:49 And I will send a fire on Magog,
12:51 and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles,
12:55 and they shall know that I am the Lord.
12:59 So will I make my holy name known
13:01 in the midst of my people Israel,
13:04 and I will not let them pollute
13:05 my holy name any more,
13:08 and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord,
13:11 the Holy One in Israel.
13:13 Behold, it is come, and it is done,
13:17 saith the Lord God,
13:18 this is the day whereof I have spoken.
13:22 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel
13:24 shall go forth, and shall set on fire
13:27 and burn the weapons,
13:28 both the shields and the bucklers,
13:30 the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves,
13:32 and the spears, and they shall burn them
13:34 with fire seven years,
13:37 So that they shall take no wood out of the field,
13:39 neither cut down any out of the forests,
13:42 for they shall burn the weapons with fire,
13:44 and they shall spoil those that spoiled them,
13:47 and rob those that robbed them,
13:49 saith the Lord God.
13:51 And it shall come to pass in that day,
13:52 that I will give unto Gog
13:54 a place there of graves in Israel,
13:57 the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea,
14:01 and it shall stop the noses of the passengers,
14:04 and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude,
14:08 and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.
14:13 And seven months shall the house of Israel
14:15 be burying of them,
14:17 that they may cleanse the land.
14:19 Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them,
14:22 and it shall be to them a renown
14:24 the day that I shall be glorified,
14:26 saith the Lord God.
14:27 And they shall sever out men of continual employment,
14:31 passing through the land to bury with the passengers
14:34 those that remain upon the face of the earth,
14:36 to cleanse it, after the end of seven months
14:39 shall they search."
