00:17 I am Kelly Mowrer and today we're going to continue 00:20 reading from the Book of Ezekiel. 00:22 But before we start, lets pray together. 00:25 Dear Heavenly Father, 00:27 thank you so much for redeeming us. 00:31 Thank you that while we were yet sinners, 00:33 You died for us, and thank you 00:35 that You found us in all the places 00:38 that we're scattered and broken 00:40 and You bring us home and You heal us. 00:43 Please be with us now, as we continue to read 00:45 from the Book of Ezekiel, Your prophet. 00:48 We love you so much 00:49 and thank you for loving us, amen. 00:53 We're picking up in the middle of Chapter 41 of Ezekiel 00:57 starting with verse 12 and we're in the middle 00:59 of the measuring of the temple that Ezekiel is watching. 01:04 This is the King James Version. 01:07 "Now the building that was before the separate place 01:09 at the end toward the west was seventy cubits broad, 01:13 and the wall of the building 01:15 was five cubits thick round about, 01:16 and the length thereof ninety cubits. 01:19 So he measured the house, an hundred cubits long, 01:21 and the separate place, and the building, 01:23 with the walls thereof, an hundred cubits long, 01:25 Also the breadth of the face of the house, 01:27 and of the separate place toward the east, 01:29 an hundred cubits. 01:31 And he measured the length of the building 01:32 over against the separate place 01:34 which was behind it, 01:36 and the galleries thereof on the one side 01:38 and on the other side, an hundred cubits, 01:40 with the inner temple, and the porches of the court, 01:43 The door posts, and the narrow windows, 01:46 and the galleries round about on their three stories, 01:49 over against the door, cieled with wood round about, 01:53 and from the ground up to the windows, 01:55 and the windows were covered, To that above the door, 01:58 even unto the inner house, and without, 02:00 and by all the wall round about 02:02 within and without, by measure. 02:05 And it was made with cherubims and palm trees, 02:09 so that a palm tree was between a cherub 02:11 and a cherub, and every cherub had two faces, 02:16 So that the face of a man 02:18 was toward the palm tree on the one side, 02:21 and the face of a young lion 02:22 toward the palm tree on the other side, 02:24 it was made through all the house round about. 02:27 From the ground unto above the door were cherubims 02:31 and palm trees made, and on the wall of the temple. 02:34 The posts of the temple were squared, 02:37 and the face of the sanctuary, 02:39 the appearance of the one as the appearance of the other. 02:43 The altar of wood was three cubits high, 02:45 and the length thereof two cubits, 02:47 and the corners thereof, and the length thereof, 02:49 and the walls thereof, were of wood, 02:53 and he said unto me, 02:55 This is the table that is before the Lord. 02:59 And the temple and the sanctuary 03:00 had two doors. 03:02 And the doors had two leaves apiece, 03:04 two turning leaves, two leaves for the one door, 03:08 and two leaves for the other door. 03:10 And there were made on them, on the doors of the temple, 03:13 cherubims and palm trees, 03:16 like as were made upon the walls, 03:18 and there were thick planks 03:20 upon the face of the porch without. 03:23 And there were narrow windows 03:25 and palm trees on the one side and on the other side, 03:28 on the sides of the porch, 03:29 and upon the side chambers of the house, 03:32 and thick planks." 03:34 Continuing to read in Ezekiel Chapter 42 03:37 and this is the King James Version. 03:40 "Then he brought me forth into the utter court, 03:43 the way toward the north, 03:45 and he brought me into the chamber 03:46 that was over against the separate place, 03:48 and which was before the building toward the north. 03:51 Before the length of an hundred cubits 03:53 was the north door, 03:55 and the breadth was fifty cubits. 03:57 Over against the twenty cubits 03:59 which were for the inner court, 04:01 and over against the pavement 04:02 which was for the utter court, 04:04 was gallery against gallery in three stories. 04:08 And before the chambers 04:09 was a walk to ten cubits breadth inward, 04:13 a way of one cubit, 04:15 and their doors toward the north. 04:17 Now the upper chambers were shorter, 04:20 for the galleries were higher than these, 04:22 than the lower, 04:23 and than the middlemost of the building. 04:25 For they were in three stories, 04:27 but had not pillars as the pillars of the courts, 04:30 therefore the building was straitened 04:32 more than the lowest 04:33 and the middlemost from the ground. 04:35 And the wall that was without over against the chambers, 04:38 toward the utter court 04:39 on the forepart of the chambers, 04:41 and the length thereof was fifty cubits. 04:44 For the length of the chambers 04:45 that were in the utter court was fifty cubits, 04:48 and, lo, before the temple were an hundred cubits. 04:52 And from under these chambers 04:54 was the entry on the east side, 04:55 as one goeth into them from the utter court. 04:59 The chambers were in the thickness of the wall 05:01 of the court toward the east, 05:03 over against the separate place, 05:05 and over against the building. 05:07 And the way before them was like 05:09 the appearance of the chambers which were toward the north, 05:11 as long as they, and as broad as they, 05:14 and all their goings out 05:15 were both according to their fashions, 05:17 and according to their doors. 05:19 And according to the doors of the chambers 05:21 that were toward the south 05:23 was a door in the head of the way, 05:25 even the way directly before the wall toward the east, 05:28 as one entereth into them. 05:30 Then said he unto me, 05:33 The north chambers and the south chambers, 05:36 which are before the separate place, 05:38 they be holy chambers, 05:41 where the priests that approach unto the Lord 05:43 shall eat the most holy things, 05:46 there shall they lay the most holy things, 05:49 and the meat offering, and the sin offering, 05:51 and the trespass offering, for the place is holy. 05:57 When the priests enter therein, 05:59 then shall they not go out of the holy place 06:01 into the utter court, but there 06:03 they shall lay their garments wherein they minister, 06:06 for they are holy, and shall put on other garments, 06:10 and shall approach to those things 06:12 which are for the people. 06:14 Now when he had made an end of measuring the inner house, 06:18 he brought me forth toward the gate 06:20 whose prospect is toward the east, 06:22 and measured it round about. 06:25 He measured the east side with the measuring reed, 06:27 five hundred reeds, 06:28 with the measuring reed round about. 06:31 He measured the north side, five hundred reeds, 06:34 with the measuring reed round about. 06:36 He measured the south side, 06:38 five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed. 06:41 He turned about to the west side, 06:43 and measured five hundred reeds 06:44 with the measuring reed. 06:46 He measured it by the four sides, 06:47 it had a wall round about, five hundred reeds long, 06:51 and five hundred broad, to make a separation 06:54 between the sanctuary and the profane place." 06:58 Continuing reading Ezekiel Chapter 43 07:01 and this is the King James Version. 07:05 "Afterward he brought me to the gate, 07:06 even the gate that looketh toward the east, 07:09 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel 07:13 came from the way of the east, 07:15 and his voice was like a noise of many waters, 07:19 and the earth shined with his glory. 07:22 And it was according to the appearance of the vision 07:24 which I saw, even according to the vision 07:27 that I saw when I came to destroy the city, 07:29 and the visions were like the vision 07:31 that I saw by the river Chebar, 07:34 and I fell upon my face. 07:37 And the glory of the Lord came into the house 07:40 by the way of the gate 07:41 whose prospect is toward the east. 07:43 So the spirit took me up, 07:45 and brought me into the inner court, 07:47 and, behold, the glory of the Lord filled the house. 07:51 And I heard him speaking unto me out of the house, 07:56 and the man stood by me. 07:58 And he said unto me, Son of man, 08:00 the place of my throne, 08:02 and the place of the soles of my feet, 08:05 where I will dwell 08:07 in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, 08:10 and my holy name, 08:11 shall the house of Israel no more defile, 08:15 neither they, nor their kings, 08:17 by their whoredom, nor by the carcases 08:19 of their kings in their high places. 08:21 In their setting of their threshold by my thresholds, 08:24 and their post by my posts, 08:27 and the wall between me and them, 08:28 they have even defiled my holy name 08:30 by their abominations that they have committed, 08:33 wherefore I have consumed them in mine anger. 08:37 Now let them put away their whoredom, 08:39 and the carcases of their kings, far from me, 08:42 and I will dwell in the midst of them for ever. 08:46 Thou son of man, 08:47 shew the house to the house of Israel, 08:50 that they may be ashamed of their iniquities, 08:53 and let them measure the pattern. 08:55 And if they be ashamed of all that they have done, 08:58 shew them the form of the house, 09:00 and the fashion thereof, and the goings out thereof, 09:02 and the comings in thereof, and all the forms thereof, 09:05 and all the ordinances thereof, 09:06 and all the forms thereof, and all the laws thereof, 09:09 and write it in their sight, 09:11 that they may keep the whole form thereof, 09:14 and all the ordinances thereof, and do them. 09:18 This is the law of the house, 09:20 Upon the top of the mountain 09:22 the whole limit thereof round about shall be most holy. 09:27 Behold, this is the law of the house. 09:30 And these are the measures of the altar after the cubits, 09:34 The cubit is a cubit and an hand breadth, 09:37 even the bottom shall be a cubit, 09:39 and the breadth a cubit, 09:40 and the border thereof by the edge thereof 09:42 round about shall be a span, 09:44 and this shall be the higher place of the altar. 09:47 And from the bottom upon the ground 09:49 even to the lower settle shall be two cubits, 09:52 and the breadth one cubit, 09:54 and from the lesser settle even to the greater settle 09:56 shall be four cubits, and the breadth one cubit. 09:59 So the altar shall be four cubits, 10:01 and from the altar and upward 10:03 shall be four horns. 10:05 And the altar shall be twelve cubits long, 10:08 twelve broad, square in the four squares thereof. 10:12 And the settle shall be fourteen cubits long 10:14 and fourteen broad in the four squares thereof, 10:18 and the border about it shall be half a cubit, 10:20 and the bottom thereof shall be a cubit about, 10:24 and his stairs shall look toward the east. 10:28 And he said unto me, Son of man, 10:30 thus saith the Lord God, 10:32 These are the ordinances of the altar 10:34 in the day when they shall make it, 10:36 to offer burnt offerings thereon, 10:38 and to sprinkle blood thereon. 10:40 And thou shalt give to the priests 10:43 the Levites that be of the seed of Zadok, 10:46 which approach unto me, to minister unto me, 10:48 saith the Lord God, 10:50 a young bullock for a sin offering. 10:53 And thou shalt take of the blood thereof, 10:55 and put it on the four horns of it, 10:57 and on the four corners of the settle, 10:59 and upon the border round about, 11:01 thus shalt thou cleanse and purge it. 11:05 Thou shalt take the bullock also of the sin offering, 11:08 and he shall burn it 11:09 in the appointed place of the house, 11:11 without the sanctuary. 11:12 And on the second day thou shalt offer a kid of the goats 11:15 without blemish for a sin offering, 11:18 and they shall cleanse the altar, 11:19 as they did cleanse it with the bullock. 11:23 When thou hast made an end of cleansing it, 11:25 thou shalt offer a young bullock 11:27 without blemish, 11:29 and a ram out of the flock without blemish. 11:32 And thou shalt offer them before the Lord, 11:33 and the priests shall cast salt upon them, 11:36 and they shall offer them up 11:38 for a burnt offering unto the Lord. 11:42 Seven days shalt thou prepare 11:44 every day a goat for a sin offering, 11:47 they shall also prepare a young bullock, 11:50 and a ram out of the flock, without blemish. 11:53 Seven days shall they purge the altar and purify it, 11:56 and they shall consecrate themselves. 11:58 And when these days are expired, 12:00 it shall be, that upon the eighth day, 12:03 and so forward, the priests 12:05 shall make your burnt offerings 12:07 upon the altar, and your peace offerings, 12:10 and I will accept you, saith the Lord God." 12:14 Continuing with Ezekiel Chapter 44 12:16 and this is the King James Version. 12:20 "Then he brought me back the way of the gate 12:22 of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east, 12:26 and it was shut. 12:28 Then said the Lord unto me, This gate shall be shut, 12:32 it shall not be opened, 12:34 and no man shall enter in by it, 12:37 because the Lord, the God of Israel, 12:40 hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut. 12:44 It is for the prince, the prince, 12:47 he shall sit in it to eat bread before the Lord, 12:50 he shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, 12:53 and shall go out by the way of the same. 12:57 Then brought he me the way of the north gate 13:00 before the house, and I looked, 13:03 and, behold, the glory of the Lord 13:05 filled the house of the Lord, 13:07 and I fell upon my face. 13:09 And the Lord said unto me, Son of man, mark well, 13:13 and behold with thine eyes, 13:14 and hear with thine ears all that I say unto thee 13:19 concerning all the ordinances of the house of the Lord, 13:21 and all the laws thereof, 13:23 and mark well the entering in of the house, 13:26 with every going forth of the sanctuary. 13:30 And thou shalt say to the rebellious, 13:32 even to the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God, 13:36 O ye house of Israel, 13:38 let it suffice you of all your abominations, 13:41 In that ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, 13:45 uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, 13:48 to be in my sanctuary, to pollute it, 13:50 even my house, when ye offer my bread, 13:53 the fat and the blood, 13:55 and they have broken my covenant 13:56 because of all your abominations. 13:58 And ye have not kept 14:00 the charge of mine holy things, 14:02 but ye have set keepers of my charge 14:04 in my sanctuary for yourselves. 14:07 Thus saith the Lord God, No stranger, 14:10 uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, 14:15 shall enter into my sanctuary, 14:17 of any stranger that is among the children of Israel. 14:21 And the Levites that are gone away far from me, 14:25 when Israel went astray, 14:26 which went astray away from me after their idols, 14:30 they shall even bear their iniquity. 14:33 Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, 14:37 having charge at the gates of the house, 14:40 and ministering to the house." |
