00:15 Hello and welcome back to "His Words Are Life."
00:18 I am Kelly Mowrer and today we will be 00:20 reading together from the Book of Micah. 00:22 But first let's pray. 00:24 Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for loving us. 00:28 Thank you for sending Your Son to die for us 00:31 and thank you for sending Your word to guide us. 00:35 Please now may the Holy Spirit bring this truth 00:38 into our hearts in a real and life changing way. 00:42 I pray in the name of Jesus, amen. 00:45 We are picking up in Micah Chapter 1, verse 7. 00:49 And this is the King James Version. 00:52 "And all the graven images thereof 00:55 shall be beaten to pieces, 00:57 and all the hires thereof shall be burned with the fire, 01:00 and all the idols thereof will I lay desolate, 01:04 for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot, 01:07 and they shall return to the hire of an harlot. 01:11 Therefore I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked, 01:16 I will make a wailing like the dragons, 01:19 and mourning as the owls. 01:22 For her wound is incurable, for it is come unto Judah, 01:27 he is come unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem. 01:31 Declare ye it not at Gath, weep ye not at all, 01:36 in the house of Aphrah roll thyself in the dust. 01:39 Pass ye away, thou inhabitant of Saphir, 01:43 having thy shame naked, the inhabitant of Zaanan 01:46 came not forth in the mourning of Bethezel, 01:49 he shall receive of you his standing. 01:53 For the inhabitant of Maroth waited carefully for good, 01:57 but evil came down from the Lord unto the gate of Jerusalem. 02:02 O thou inhabitant of Lachish, 02:04 bind the chariot to the swift beast, 02:07 she is the beginning of the sin to the daughter of Zion, 02:11 for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee. 02:14 Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moreshethgath, 02:18 the houses of Achzib shall be a lie to the kings of Israel. 02:23 Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, 02:25 O inhabitant of Mareshah, 02:28 he shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel. 02:32 Make thee bald, and poll thee for thy delicate children, 02:36 enlarge thy baldness as the eagle, 02:39 for they are gone into captivity from thee. 02:44 Continuing in the Book of Micah, Chapter 2. 02:47 This is the King James Version. 02:51 Woe to them that devise iniquity, 02:54 and work evil upon their beds! 02:56 When the morning is light, they practice it, 02:59 because it is in the power of their hand. 03:02 And they covet fields, and take them by violence, 03:06 and houses, and take them away, 03:09 so they oppress a man and his house, 03:12 even a man and his heritage. 03:15 Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, 03:19 against this family do I devise an evil, 03:22 from which ye shall not remove your necks, 03:25 neither shall ye go haughtily, for this time is evil. 03:30 In that day shall one take up a parable against you, 03:35 and lament with a doleful lamentation, 03:37 and say, we be utterly spoiled, 03:40 he hath changed the portion of my people, 03:44 how hath he removed it from me! 03:46 Turning away he hath divided our fields. 03:50 Therefore thou shalt have none that 03:52 shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the Lord. 03:56 Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy, 04:01 they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame. 04:06 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, 04:09 is the spirit of the Lord straitened? 04:12 Are these his doings? 04:14 do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly? 04:19 Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy, 04:23 ye pull off the robe with the garment from them 04:26 that pass by securely as men averse from war. 04:31 The women of my people have ye cast out 04:33 from their pleasant houses, from their children 04:36 have ye taken away my glory forever. 04:39 Arise ye, and depart, for this is not your rest, 04:44 because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, 04:47 even with a sore destruction. 04:50 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, 04:55 saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine 04:58 and of strong drink, he shall even be 05:01 the prophet of this people. 05:03 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee, 05:07 I will surely gather the remnant of Israel, 05:10 I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, 05:14 as the flock in the midst of their fold, 05:17 they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men. 05:21 The breaker is come up before them, 05:24 they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, 05:27 and are gone out by it, 05:30 and their king shall pass before them, 05:32 and the Lord come on the head of them." 05:36 Continuing in Chapter 3 of Micah. 05:39 This is the King James Version. 05:43 "And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, 05:47 and ye princes of the house of Israel, 05:50 Is it not for you to know judgment? 05:54 Who hate the good, and love the evil, 05:57 who pluck off their skin from off them, 06:00 and their flesh from off their bones, 06:03 Who also eat the flesh of my people, 06:05 and flay their skin from off them, 06:08 and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, 06:10 as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron. 06:14 Then shall they cry unto the Lord, 06:16 but he will not hear them, 06:18 he will even hide his face from them at that time, 06:21 as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings. 06:26 Thus saith the Lord concerning 06:27 the prophets that make my people err, 06:31 that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace, 06:34 and he that putteth not into their mouths, 06:37 they even prepare war against him. 06:41 Therefore night shall be unto you, 06:44 that ye shall not have a vision, 06:47 and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine, 06:50 and the sun shall go down over the prophets, 06:53 and the day shall be dark over them. 06:57 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded, 07:01 yea, they shall all cover their lips, 07:04 for there is no answer of God. 07:07 But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the Lord, 07:11 and of judgment, and of might, 07:14 to declare unto Jacob his transgression, 07:17 and to Israel his sin. 07:20 Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, 07:24 and princes of the house of Israel, 07:26 that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity. 07:30 They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity. 07:35 The heads thereof judge for reward, 07:38 and the priests thereof teach for hire, 07:42 and the prophets thereof divine for money, 07:46 yet will they lean upon the Lord, and say, 07:49 Is not the Lord among us? None evil can come upon us. 07:54 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, 07:58 and Jerusalem shall become heaps, 08:01 and the mountain of the house 08:04 as the high places of the forest." 08:08 Continuing in the Book of Micah, Chapter 4. 08:11 This is the King James Version. 08:14 "But in the last days it shall come to pass, 08:18 that the mountain of the house of the Lord 08:20 shall be established in the top of the mountains, 08:23 and it shall be exalted above the hills, 08:26 and people shall flow unto it. 08:30 And many nations shall come, and say, 08:33 Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, 08:35 and to the house of the God of Jacob, 08:38 and he will teach us of his ways, 08:41 and we will walk in his paths, 08:44 for the law shall go forth of Zion, 08:46 and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. 08:49 And he shall judge among many people, 08:51 and rebuke strong nations afar off, 08:54 and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, 08:58 and their spears into pruning hooks, 09:01 nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, 09:05 neither shall they learn war any more. 09:09 But they shall sit every man under his vine 09:12 and under his fig tree, and none shall make them afraid, 09:17 for the mouth of the Lord of hosts hath spoken it. 09:21 For all people will walk every one 09:25 in the name of his God, 09:26 and we will walk in the name of the Lord 09:28 our God forever and ever. 09:32 In that day, saith the Lord, 09:34 will I assemble her that halteth, 09:37 and I will gather her that is driven out, 09:39 and her that I have afflicted, 09:42 And I will make her that halted a remnant, 09:45 and her that was cast far off a strong nation, 09:49 and the Lord shall reign over them 09:51 in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever. 09:56 And thou, O tower of the flock, 09:59 the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, 10:02 unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion, 10:06 the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem. 10:10 Now why dost thou cry out aloud? 10:13 Is there no king in thee? Is thy counselor perished? 10:17 For pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail. 10:21 Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, 10:23 O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail, 10:27 for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, 10:29 and thou shalt dwell in the field, 10:31 and thou shalt go even to Babylon, 10:33 there shalt thou be delivered, there the Lord shall redeem thee 10:38 from the hand of thine enemies. 10:41 Now also many nations are gathered against thee, 10:44 that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion. 10:50 But they know not the thoughts of the Lord, 10:53 neither understand they his counsel, 10:56 for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor. 11:00 Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion, 11:03 for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass, 11:08 and thou shalt beat in pieces many people, 11:11 and I will consecrate their gain unto the Lord, 11:15 and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth." 11:19 Continuing in the Book of Micah, Chapter 5. 11:22 And this is the King James Version. 11:26 "Now gather thyself in troops, 11:28 O daughter of troops, he hath laid siege against us, 11:33 they shall smite the judge of Israel 11:35 with a rod upon the cheek. 11:38 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, 11:41 though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, 11:45 yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me 11:49 that is to be ruler in Israel, 11:52 whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. 11:57 Therefore will he give them up, 12:00 until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth, 12:05 then the remnant of his brethren shall return 12:07 unto the children of Israel. 12:10 And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord, 12:13 in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God, 12:17 and they shall abide, for now shall he be great 12:21 unto the ends of the earth. 12:24 And this man shall be the peace, 12:27 when the Assyrian shall come into our land, 12:30 and when he shall tread in our palaces, 12:32 then shall we raise against him 12:35 seven shepherds, and eight principal men. 12:38 And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, 12:41 and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof, 12:46 thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, 12:48 when he cometh into our land, 12:50 and when he treadeth within our borders. 12:53 And the remnant of Jacob shall be 12:55 in the midst of many people as a dew from the Lord, 12:58 as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, 13:02 nor waiteth for the sons of men. 13:05 And the remnant of Jacob shall be 13:07 among the Gentiles in the midst of many people 13:10 as a lion among the beasts of the forest, 13:13 as a young lion among the flocks of sheep, 13:16 who, if he go through, both treadeth down, 13:19 and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver. 13:23 Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, 13:28 and all thine enemies shall be cut off. 13:31 And it shall come to pass in that day, 13:33 saith the Lord, that I will cut off thy horses 13:36 out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots. 13:39 And I will cut off the cities of thy land, 13:42 and throw down all thy strong holds. 13:46 And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand, 13:49 and thou shalt have no more soothsayers. 13:52 Thy graven images also will I cut off, 13:55 and thy standing images out of the midst of thee, 13:59 and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands. 14:04 And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee, 14:08 so will I destroy thy cities. 14:11 And I will execute vengeance in anger 14:14 and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard. 14:19 Continuing with Micah, Chapter 6. 14:22 Hear ye now what the Lord saith, Arise, 14:26 contend thou before the mountains, 14:29 and let the hills hear thy voice. 14:32 Hear ye, O mountains, the Lord's controversy, 14:35 and ye strong foundations of the earth, 14:38 for the Lord hath a controversy with his people, 14:41 and he will plead with Israel." |
