06:56 >> In this one presentation called from the prison to the palace. You know, there's a
07:03 verse in the Bible that I bet I tell you what the passages you won't know the verse. I
07:08 think John, 3.16, you can probably read a quote it right. Please ESC for 14. that
07:16 he can't He got in front. Let me tell you what that says. For one can indeed come out of
07:24 prison to rain. Even though born poor in the kingdom. One can come out of prison to
07:33 rain, even though born poor in the kingdom. The simple message that I'm going to say
07:39 1000 different ways this morning. Is that the message of the Bible is to bring us
07:45 out of prison into the politics. He saves us from the prison of sin from the dungeon
07:52 of the Devil. And he makes a sit in heavenly places with his son. This is the message
08:00 of them. I want use the number stories that illustrate that. But it happens real life. A
08:07 couple of years ago. Karen and I were with Pastor loss in South Africa. He's from South
08:11 Africa and we want put or II and they had a monument there to Nelson Mandela, credible
08:15 story. You know, he was part of a movement to help abolish apartheid. he was put in
08:22 prison. And he was in prison and a very small so for 27 years on Robben Island. And he
08:33 finally was released from prison by And they had a free election and he was elected
08:39 president. He went from. The prisoner of the country to the president of the country. Talk
08:48 about a radical change to go from that little bitty prison cell. And then you've got a
08:52 palace. To go from where you are doing menial things in a prison to where you've got an
09:00 array of servants and security force. And a helicopter and an airplane. To try to transport.
09:05 Can you imagine what a radical change in your life that would be. This is the story of
09:11 salvation. A lot of you've been in prison your whole life and you don't even know what
09:17 the palaces like. But Jesus came to save you from the prison. And to bring you to
09:21 his cane. You know, one of the amazing stories in the Bible that illustrates is it's the
09:28 last passage in the last chapter of the book of Jeremiah. For those of you
09:33 have your Bibles, many of you have a Bible on your device. You can go to Jeremiah
09:37 Chapter. 52. An All-Star reading that verse. 31, while you're finding that, let me
09:42 give you the background to the story. Last good king of Judah Josiah. And he had some signs
09:51 that when he died, it is just died in battle. Some of his young sons were made King and
09:57 one of the first wonder why it Chin. He did not do a very good job. I think first
10:04 brothers play Kim was King King of took him off to Egypt and he died there late became
10:10 King King about Ellen conquered him. Put him in prison. He was a young man
10:15 when he was captured. And he languished in about a loan in jail. For 37 years. This is
10:22 where it begins now. It came to pass Jeremiah 50 to 31. In the 37th year of the captivity
10:31 of Jehoiachin King of Judah on the 12 Month on the 25th Day of the month, the 12 month 20
10:38 for there to be Christmas for us right? That even merit knock came about this is a 7.
10:46 Everything is really only rain for about a year before he was assassinated. The King of
10:51 Babylon first year of his reign, he lifted up the head of Jehoiachin King of Judah
10:55 and brought him out of prison. Now he had been the city had been in policy, been a king
11:03 and been conquered, carried off to battle and put in a dungeon. Prisons back then did
11:06 not have air conditioning. They did not have ping pong and pool tables. Now that
11:13 North America, I've been to some prisons overseas where their pre pretty discouraging.
11:18 But prisons back in Basilan. They weren't very plush. And the food was probably not very
11:24 nice. And he was in this prison cold dungeon, rotten food. 37 years. It's amazing
11:33 to even survive. A lot of people died in the things in prisons within a matter of
11:36 weeks. And then one day. It was not the regular schedule. He heard someone coming down
11:45 the cold steps in the corridor. You heard keys planking the thought. Why are
11:51 they coming? They only come when it's mealtime. Once a day or to carry off the bucket and
11:56 why are they coming out or they come to take someone off or execution? He knew the with
12:02 no longer teen Ethan maybe isn't going to execute me. He didn't know what was going to
12:07 happen guard, which is key and the latch and turns and says come with me because where are
12:13 we going to follow me? What's going on? Follow me. And he follows the guard with some
12:19 trepidation. He still got his manacles on up the stairs and he walks out in the King
12:23 greets him. I think what does this mean? But listen to what even married. I did. He spoke
12:32 kindly to him. And he gave him a more prominent seat than those of the Kings who are
12:38 with them in battle. He not only gave him a thrown at his table with the other kings of
12:42 the different provinces. He gave him a more prominent Such change from his prison
12:48 garments. We lay aside our rags and get the robe of Christ right reasons. And he
12:56 ate bread regularly. Now he's not eating the prison. moldy bread? But he's eating the
13:02 bread of the palace. Royal bred. Jesus feeds us with that bread of life. Before the king
13:11 of the days of his life. And as far as provisions, there was a regular Russian given
13:17 him. The King says what you're going to need some spending money if you can live in the
13:20 pollen. So here's a credit card. Your expense accounts. For every day. Until the day
13:28 of his death, all the days of his life. You know how the book of Jeremiah ends with the
13:34 word life. God wants to give you life wants to give you eternal life. And this is what
13:40 happens with this imprisoned by the devil. Jesus comes to set us free. I believe,
13:47 frankly, one when King of the died, Daniel, the profit was get a high place in the
13:51 kingdom. He went to the sun and then we can. As said, I'd like to intercede in behalf of
13:56 our King of Israel. He has been in your jail for 37 years. Can you show him mercy?
14:04 And the king because of the intercession of Daniel showed mercy. And you not only show
14:06 him mercy. He brought them out. He gave him a new station, new clothes, new
14:14 food. Sitting on a new throne. New resources for how long? As long as he lived. This is what
14:22 the Lord wants to do for you. And yet some people say not all stay here in prison. I'm
14:26 happy. Doesn't that sound crazy? You know that there is a prison in Korea. That people
14:35 voluntarily. Matter of fact, they pay about $100 a day to commit themselves to this
14:42 prison. And they're mostly, you know, Korea's got one of the longest workweeks in the
14:47 world. And they work themselves to death and a high suicide rate and some of these
14:52 people to save themselves. They actually enroll in prison and they have to pay to be in
14:56 prison. And they go to this prison and they give them just, you know, a prison
15:04 uniform to wear theirs. They sleep on a mat on the floor. They have no clocks. They are
15:07 not allowed to have their phone. There's no music or anything. They're not allowed
15:12 to speak there in a cell that is 8 feet by 7 feet. And when interviewed, some of them said
15:18 I was much more in prison when they get out of here. With the rat race of living in. And I
15:26 am here at least or some quiet and peace. When I was a lot of people who are free. And
15:33 they've got the illusion of success. They might have a tolerable marriage. And I is
15:40 this living large in my enjoying life and they're in prison because if you are
15:44 still held captive by your sins, you are in the Devils dungeon. You cannot have
15:48 peace. There is no rest for the wicked. The Bible says God wants to open your prison
15:55 doors and let you out. You know, another story I was thinking of from history. I
16:00 don't have a picture on the screen of him. But some of you remember the the Polish
16:06 shipyard workers. He kind of led the union there left. woman said. And he had been
16:11 imprisoned by the communist for fighting against communism. And when Khan
16:16 coming as it was over, thrown and began actually in Poland, he went from a prisoner. To
16:20 the president. Happens more than you might think happened with some in South America as
16:25 well. And the Lord wants to take you. He took the apostles. You know, he said to
16:31 them. Peters and more depart from me on this implemented. Jesus said, don't your Peter?
16:39 You and the other apostles will sit with me on 12 Thrones ruling the 12 Tribes of
16:43 Israel. God takes us from that low station and he totally transforms our case. You've
16:51 got many cases in the bible of people going from the prison. The palace Moses went from
16:56 being basically a prison baby where he was flown to the crocodiles. Well, as mother
17:04 didn't quite thrown the croc announcement, he tried to save him from the king is out the
17:06 Nile River in a basket and he's rescued and adopted and becomes a prince in Egypt. As
17:13 another example, indeed, the whole Exodus experience is an experience where the children
17:16 of Israel. are. A nation of prisoners is not right. And because of the intervention of
17:24 God, he leads them from the prison. To the promised Land. You have again that it's a
17:30 story of salvation of what the Lord wants to and what the Lord can do for you. And we're
17:36 going to go into the specifics before we're done on how you get out of jail. Now, by the
17:40 way, I'm speaking from experience. As a path right, sometimes is that people in
17:45 prison. I actually went woman's prison here in Las Vegas several years ago. It
17:50 was amazing because sometimes make an appeal. altar call near the end. And before I
17:56 even got to the altar call, everyone got up and started coming forward. But we don't
18:01 have made it home to call him. We just were so hungry to give themselves the Jesus because
18:05 they knew that you could be in. You could be out there and be in prison and they said you
18:10 could be in prison and be free. And they wanted that freedom. But I'm not only been
18:17 in prison visiting before I was a pastor. I was in prison in other ways. I probably been
18:22 in jail 7 times. Never really went to prison. I was in jail about 7 times. But I know what
18:28 it feels like to be locked out. They can be pretty lonely. And the Bible tells us
18:33 that God comes to save us from prison. I love the story of Joseph in our home church were
18:38 just finishing going through a series on Joseph. And it thrills me every time. And
18:41 here. Favored son of a wealthy. No. Mandy, he's sold as a slave by his brothers and
18:50 he's put into slavery and then he falsely accused as a slave in put into prison. He's in
18:56 prison for 3 years and he's done nothing wrong. But someone remembers that he's
19:02 got a gift for interpreting dreams. And the feral calls him. And then one day he goes
19:06 from the prison to the palace and he's made the prime minister of the greatest
19:09 kingdom in the world from prisoner in one day. You know, your status can change very
19:17 quickly. Some people think tell me about the process of how long does it take to be a
19:21 Christian? He's a prayer away. You can be free from their prison before the sermons over
19:27 today. That's what the Bible You read here, Genesis Chapter. 41 14 Farrell Cent
19:35 and called Joseph. And they brought him quickly. How does that happen? Quickly out of
19:41 the dungeon? And he shaved and he changed his clothing and he came to Pharaoh. And you go to
19:50 verse. 41 Genesis chapter, 41 verse. 41 Farrell said to I have sent you over all the
19:55 land of Egypt. Farrow took his Signet ring office and that gives him authority to make
20:00 the laws and documents put it on Joses hand clued him in garments of fine. Then put a
20:06 gold chain about his neck. And you had him right in the second chariot, which he had
20:11 and cried out before him bow the knee. So he sent him over all the land of Egypt. The
20:17 type of Christ and the story. Then you've got another character in the Bible. This
20:22 was the longest reigning probably the most wicked King. Of Judah, his name anyone
20:29 know. NASA. asked you heard that name before. The NASA. The Bible says he did evil
20:38 like no came before him. I don't want to rehearse the things that the deputies in
20:43 Idol worship and child sacrifice and worship. You know, they have these demonic
20:48 gods and he put idols in the temple of the Lord persecuted. The profits killed the prophet
20:51 Isaiah. This is a wicked king. If you want to. I think about God's mercy. Look at how he
20:59 treated the NASA. Listen to this. And the Lord spoke, by the way, Second chronicles, 33
21:06 verse 10. I'm always happy when I see look at that. Second chronicles. 33 verse 10
21:10 and the Lord spoke to a NASA and to his people. But they would not listen. Therefore,
21:18 the Lord brought upon them, the captains of the Army and the king of Assyria who took
21:21 my NASA with the books. And bound him with bronze Fetters and carried him off to battle
21:27 in. Now when he was in affliction. In prison, possibly being tortured. In
21:37 that babylonian dungeon that later to would be in. In his affliction got got his
21:44 attention, sometimes got just a flick. This to get our attention event. The Lord
21:47 implored him. And it says that he humbled himself greatly before the Lord is God he
21:55 repented of his sons. He prayed to him. After rejecting got to turn back. Every
22:01 wonderful product wouldn't come home. NASA did. He spoke to the God of his father's and
22:08 prayed to him and he got received. He's in treating his prayer. He heard his
22:14 supplication. And he brought him back to Jerusalem to his kingdom, brought him from that
22:23 dungeon and babbling back to his palace and his Now, this was the bad is keen that ever
22:30 I don't know of one that was worse in the Bible that I can read Maybe him have kind of a
22:33 neck-and-neck race. But you might think I'm gone too far. All die in prison if God can
22:41 forgive me, NASA after what he did. I mean, you didn't kill the prophet. Isaiah did. If
22:49 God can forgive me, NASA after what he did and you don't know how he killed it. I say it. He
22:53 put him in a hollow log and saw him in 2. He was cool. By the way. That's when he was
23:00 Chapter 11. If you know me. If he can be forgiven. Some of you hear about this terrible.
23:10 Barbaric criminal Ted Monday, I won't even go into his crimes. But he he was just
23:15 terrible man. He was in prison on death row. Doctor James Dobson went to visit him. And
23:20 he said, you know, I can't address. The horrific things that he did. But I need to
23:26 tell you, after talking to him. He said he had repented of his sons and accepted
23:31 Jesus. He said I think he's really converted. Even now. I only share these things with
23:38 you because I meet people all the time to think I've gone too far. I have my dungeon is
23:42 too deep. The arm of the Lord is not shorten that. He cannot say friends. You are not a
23:49 better center than Jesus as their savior. He can reach you sail, but I've fallen so many
23:55 times will get in line. We all have. He can still reach the Bible, says Mary Matalin out
24:02 of them got cast 7 devils. Right. Just men fall 7 times in rises again. The Lord is
24:08 longsuffering to us for. You know, I think Joe, he actually touched on the experience of
24:15 NASA. Listen to as a joke. 36 for 7. He does not withdraw his eyes from the writers, but
24:21 they are on the throne with key news for you see them forever and they are exalted.
24:27 And if they are bound in fetters and held with the court of Affliction.
24:30 >> The need tells them their work and their transgressions that they have acted
24:36 defiantly. He opens the year 2 instruction. He and the turn from Iniquity. If they'll
24:44 dancer him additional spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasure. He
24:47 brings them out of their prison. Their affliction. Daniel, the Prophet. He went

25:01 translates the King's Dream. becomes Prime Minister. Happens twice to Not only does
25:07 it happen with the Beacon, chapter 2, you're going to go into Chapter 6. And it tells
25:11 us that when Daniel was in winds and then and from the Lions, then he prays and the
25:16 king brings in from the Lions den and promotes him to be prime minister of Persia. From
25:23 the dungeon from the den to the palace. The story of Esther. Here she is. She's a
25:31 an orphan captive. In Persia. Has no status. Says that she was with those as chapter 2
25:40 verse 2 for 6 could carried away from Jerusalem. She'd been carried away with Chuck
25:48 went to the king of Judah who never visit the King of Babylon carried away. And then
25:52 you go to chapter 2 verse 17 and the King Love disturb of all the women she obtained
25:58 grace and favor in his sight. More than all the versions. So that he set the royal crown
26:03 upon her head and made her queen instead of ash Talk about a radical change of
26:07 fortune. Going from Orphan Girl. To clean. Following strange beauty pageant. It
26:18 happens to be apostles. Let's jump to the New Testament. Quite literally. You can read
26:24 in Chapter 5 after Jesus rises from the dead. The apostles are preaching some of the
26:28 religious leaders are very angry about this. And it says an Axe 5, 18, but they laid
26:35 hands on the apostles, may put them in the common prison. But an angel of the Lord Open the
26:41 prison doors and brought them out. And said go stand in the temple in speak to the people.
26:47 All the words of the fight. By the way, if you go from the prison to the temple, you're
26:50 going for the prison to the palace. You're going to the presence of God. By the way,
26:55 that's what he wants us to do. He saves us from prison that we might go to church and
27:00 preach about God. The apostles. They're pretty good at getting out of prison.
27:07 Happened several times. You're in Psalm one. 42 verse 7, bring my soul out of prison
27:13 that I my praise your name. Isaiah part of the Ministry of the Messiah. Isaiah 42 for 7.
27:20 Jesus came to open blind eyes to bring out prisoners from the prison. Those who sit in
27:25 darkness from the prison-house. This is the Ministry of Christ. And then
27:32 you read about Paul and Silas in acts chapter 16. Tells us that they weren't doing
27:38 anything wrong. The cast out the devil that have been made, the devil mask. And so they
27:41 were falsely accused of causing a riot. There beaten. The put in the innermost
27:47 prison. Looks like there's no way out in the FOX. They can't even roll over. And what do
27:52 they do? They say if you're persecuted for Christ, we should rejoice and they
27:56 rejoice and they sing and they praise God. >> The other prisoners are
28:00 listening to the strange sound coming from the you know, most elder, usually the year
28:03 torture and screaming. And while the praise and saying God, the angel of the Lord
28:09 shook the whole prison and all the prison doors were open and everyone shackles fell off.
28:18 And the prison guard brought them out of the prison to his home and they ended the
28:22 baptizing the man who had beaten them a few hours earlier. He said, what must I
28:27 do to be saved? You see when people see that you've been brought out of prison, they
28:33 know that God did something for you and they want to know your story. He saves us that
28:37 we might declare his right reasons. Now the roots of our time is going to be dedicated
28:42 to action after 12. It is specifically dealing with the story of God's saving Peter
28:49 from prison. So go with me in your miles. For the book of Acts. Chapter 12, you know,
28:54 Give me a little amazing fact about prisons in North America. You know, North
28:59 America, we've got the highest per capita group of prisoners in the world. Over 2 million
29:06 people in prison in North America. We have more prisoners in North America
29:11 than farmers. You can send your child to Harvard. For less than what it costs us in
29:20 America to keep a person in prison. I think there's something corrupt about the
29:24 system, but that's a different story. We have 629 people in prison for every 100,000
29:29 people. Very sad. And there's a lot of people in prison, the Devils prison in this world.
29:40 Most chapter 12. Now just to give you the background. sort of gives its own background
29:47 here, you just start with the first one. Now about that time, King Herod stretched out
29:52 his hand to harass some of the church here at the urging of the religious leaders. They
29:56 don't like the Christianity spreading. He's persecuting the church. Then he killed
30:03 James, the brother of John with the sort. Remember the 3 trinity of Disciples of Jesus
30:09 did everything with was Peter James and John. They were the closest to him. John, is the
30:15 brother of James. James beheaded sorties, not crucified beheaded. And when
30:24 he saw that, please, the Jews for political reasons is that all this will give you more
30:27 support Christie's votes. He proceeded further to seize Peter.
30:32 >> Now it was during the time of leaven bread. It's around the Passover. So when you
30:36 arrested him, he put him in prison and delivered him to 4 squads of soldiers, squatters
30:41 for. Can. James is 4 quaternions are quite trust for 16 soldiers are guarding
30:48 one on fisherman. He is not a ninja. Kung fu expert want it with all the 16 soldiers to
30:56 guard that one prisoner. You know why? The religious leaders as we imprison all 12
31:02 of the month and they all broke out and we don't know how. So these guys are
31:07 slippery. You better keep your eye on here to it. We've got the best jail in the country.
31:15 It's a Roman jail. We will put him in the innermost inner most top security, no windows
31:19 jail, all that 16 soldiers guarding 24 7. He's not going anywhere. Situation for Peters
31:26 looking pretty hopeless. Notice. Not only is he being put in prison, it says
31:32 intending him to bring him before the people after the Passover. What does that mean?
31:37 Haven't executed like James after the Passover. Peter in C the devil knows that he can
31:45 strike. Look, shepherd, the sheeple scatter. Peter was one of the great leaders of the
31:50 early church. He was the one who was preaching on the day of Pentecost the Devils. need
31:53 to stop the spread of the gospel. By the end of the book, things Change looks like
31:58 here here is in charge of the Gospel is going to be restricted. Watch what
32:00 happens. Peter, therefore, was kept in prison. But constant prayer was offered to God for
32:09 him by the church. What should the church be doing for those who are in prison? How often?
32:20 Do you know anybody in prison? I know people who are little prison, but I know a lot of
32:25 people that are in the Devils prison. What we do. Pray for them. How often? Constantly.
32:33 What happens They're not safe from prison. They are on death row like Peter Pier was just
32:41 awaiting destruction. It's amazing to me that. There's so many people that are
32:44 perishing. They know their lives are terminal. By the way, you're all terminal. You
32:49 know that. they're not wanting to know how can I be healed? How can I live forever? What's
32:58 the latest? Keep God has provided a way ski. Peters kept imprisonment. Constant
33:04 prayers offered and when he heard was about to bring him out. In other words, the next
33:07 day that night, he's going to be executed the next morning. He's sleeping. With 2 chains
33:19 between 2 soldiers. And the guards before the door, keeping the prison. Not only
33:26 is he and his little in a more sell. There's no windows as one door. That lock doesn't
33:29 even have bars. He's got a soldier on the right and a soldier on the left. We're
33:34 going to call them Tony and Because these are Roman soldiers. I'm assuming. Here's
33:43 my big question. How could you sleep tonight? If you knew you would be beheaded tomorrow.
33:51 Honestly, would you sleep? You could take a whole lot of Nyquil and that want to help.
34:01 If you knew you were going to be executed the next day. If you really how could Peter
34:05 sleep? Well, he's a different man. He was converted and filled with the Holy Spirit.
34:13 He had learned that Jesus could sleep in a boat with the storm. This is a don't be
34:18 afraid. Jesus told Peter. He said when you're young, you want where you wanted a new
34:24 gird yourself. When you're old. Says another will lead you and you will stretch forth
34:29 your hands, meaning he would be crucified. And the end of the Gospel of John John
34:34 specifically says Jesus told Peter how he would die. How he would glorify God. To dine
34:39 like Christ. Peter was not over yet. And Harold supposed to cut off his head the next
34:45 day. Not crucify him. Peter said, well, this is and how it ends a lot of Jesus to get me
34:50 out of this. But I'm gonna go to sleep. How many of you would like to have that kind
34:55 of peace? We know the troubles you. You know, I was reading. I like that history of the
35:01 reformation. And Nicholas Ridley was about to be burned at the stake, that would be
35:06 worse and beheading right? In 15. 55. He was in prison about to be burned at the stake
35:11 because of his Christian Christian witness. On the night before his execution is
35:17 brother offered to remain within the prison to give them assistance in comfort.
35:23 Nicholas declined the offer and he said he meant to go to bed and sleep as quietly as
35:25 every din. He said because he knew the peace of God and he could rest in the strength of
35:31 the everlasting arms of the Lord to meet his needs. Not want to not brothers that I
35:37 plan getting a good night's sleep. Don't stay here and keep me Could be burned at the
35:40 stake the next day. The Bible calls that a peace that passes understanding and the Lord,
35:49 once you have that but then you've got a look at the story. Another way. Peter is
35:52 sleeping in prison. He sort of represents a lot of people who are imprisoned by the devil
36:00 and they're sleeping and they don't know and got just a week the month to get them out of
36:03 prison. So you read on the story, go back here to a chapter 12 of acts. And if you
36:14 read number 7 now, an angel of the Lord stood by him and light shone in the prison.
36:18 Isn't that wonderful? God doesn't say get out of prison and I'll give you light. Jesus
36:22 came into our dark world. He brings a light to our prison. The light of God will
36:29 eliminate your mind. And light shone in the prison. Sometimes that comes from the light of
36:36 God's word by word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path. And he struck Peter on
36:41 the side and raise them up, seeing a rise quickly. Now, that doesn't mean that he
36:47 should. Peter, what have you ever tried to just touch someone gently wake them up
36:50 and then they When you're trying 13 aging finally come up. You can't wake right. The
36:58 alarm is going off next to the head. Every one of the house here is that they here. I was
37:04 accurate and I were to Christian retreat. I accidently locked out of the
37:10 hotel room. I didn't know that she left her key in the room. And she was with some
37:16 girlfriends having a good time talking itself into. They were having a good time until after
37:18 midnight. So I would bet. So I went to sleep and they got a really loud heater in this
37:23 room, air conditioner heater and the fan was worried. She came in everyone to sleep so
37:28 she doesn't want to make a law known as he's knocking on the door here, detectives have
37:31 tempted captive to gun. Never heard it. had a pillow over my head or something. So I funny
37:38 wake up a rule over during the she's not and I you should know restroom. She's not there
37:49 to I locked around. I've got your keep. So I felt really bad. So I went back to sleep.
37:55 ♪ No, I got up. No sooner. Did I opened the room? Not too far
38:04 away from the room is the lobby. And I heard this melodious snoring. Yeah, I
38:11 probably door open. I'm very careful you know, that little lecture prop the door open. I
38:15 want stepped out of a hotel room in red, long underwear. To get the newspaper and the
38:20 door shut behind me. And then my boss walk by. Can you go to the lobbying? Get me another
38:28 key because I'm not going down like this. Really that happen. So I I left the door and I
38:34 went out and she's sleeping on the couch and and I said, Karen, she had been sleeping
38:40 fitfully through the night and she like she had seen a ghost the Angel Oak of Peter. And it
38:45 says he smote them. Why did he smite him? Sometimes God that this might have to get her
38:51 meant? And the Angelo come up the sunrise, how arise quickly? You know, if you're
39:00 going to escape from prison, you don't go slow. And his chains fell off his hands.
39:06 I've got to stop here. If I run out of time, this is the most important verse. Peter,
39:13 this point who usually argues. Peter actually have the gumption to argue with Jesus
39:19 about going to the cross and he has turned up. He didn't that get behind me. Satan.
39:24 Peter had something to say about everything. This is one of the only times and by the
39:29 Bible. You can find several verses with Peter not speaking. Peter could have
39:34 said Gabriel, assuming that the Angel. I'd love to get up, but it's probably going to
39:39 wake up. Mario and I want to make these guys or I could get up and I might get very far
39:48 look at the shackles on my hands. There's no way out. And if I could get up in drag them
39:52 along with me, they got guards at the Gabriel, did you checked? There's another 14
39:58 out there guarding me. This is hopeless. You've got get out. And follow me. Don't argue
40:06 with them. As soon as you make an effort to do what God has asked you to do miracles now.
40:17 This is talking about Sen. The Lord says turn from your cent. Don't start looking at the
40:25 chains. Don't look at the Alliance. Don't look at the problem. When God says take a
40:32 step of faith, take a sip of it. I've talked to people before so I want to quit
40:36 smoking. I tried so many times. I feel like tried the patch and I did this and that
40:41 that it's hopeless. I've got a plan to call a five-minute plan to quit smoking. Would
40:43 you like to quit smoking? Yes. So here you go. That's the first of all. Do you think God
40:49 wants you to quit? Of course. So thou shall not kill, including yourself, right? Not
40:54 a good witness to a son. A lot of money. I said all right. Well, God help you do what he
41:01 wants you to do. Plug-in would have your particular sons and addictions are. Plugging into
41:07 the story here. Well, God help you do what he wants you to do. Yes, you got to answer
41:12 that question. got ever ask you to do something that is impossible for you to do. If
41:19 God tells you to walk across ocean, you just need to step out. And it will either part
41:24 like the Jordan where it will part like the Red Sea where you live help you walk on
41:28 water like these are give you scuba gear. But of God tells you to go forward. You go
41:33 forward and then watch the miracles happen. There's a story in the finished plan. So
41:39 then I tell a person that's right. You have any cigarettes in the House? Well, yeah. So
41:45 let's throw away. that's, you know, expensive. They are. I said you want God to save you.
41:52 So we're going to ask him to help you. But you've got to take the first step now. He
41:58 can give us power, but he's come and you need to do something. Now you act on that
42:00 command. Watch what happens. Usually it's with some trepidation. They'll tear up
42:08 the cigarettes. And I remember, I smoke I from wet on the garbage. Can I get him
42:10 back out? She got to make the toilet an altar alder and flush them or something. And
42:16 you got to get rid of them, burn them up. Not one by one. Yeah. to way and sometimes of
42:25 you into giving the man a real careful that nobody sees me with them. As of now, let's
42:28 pray. You've got some magazines you shouldn't have in the House. From the way now
42:34 its prey. You've got some alcohol port down the toilet and what works? Good for that.
42:45 guys it has to that. A lot of good. I said, there's no such there's a reason they call its
42:51 spirits. And now is pray. And when we pray and I said, Lord, will you break the chains and
42:59 set them free? Doesn't mean there won't be any struggles, but that's where the victory
43:04 begins. And I've had people that have come to me 2 or 3 days later in the I don't
43:10 understand it, but I have no desire. God took, you know, hey, how many of you heard
43:14 stories like this got to cut away, drinking smoking drugs, whatever it was, it meant that
43:19 doesn't always happen that way. But you need to try God's plan. See if you can break the
43:24 chains. He doesn't argues has arrived quickly and his chains fell off of his hands. The
43:31 Angel said Gird yourself, put on your sandals and you're beginning the journey like the
43:36 children of Israel leaving slavery of Egypt. You put on your shoes, your staff and
43:40 your hand. So he did. To put on your government and follow me. Jesus gives you a new
43:45 robot. You begin to follow him. Put on your garment and follow me. So he went out and
43:50 he followed him and he didn't know what was done by the angel Israel that he thought
43:55 he was seen a vision. He thought this is too good to be true. I can't imagine I
44:03 pictured that. The Angels as follow me change fall off. Tony, in there's still some
44:08 time. Peter. Look, son, he's following means also that mean door and said this dungeon, it
44:16 is opens quietly on the huge is Peter walks out with Gabriel and then there's other
44:21 soldiers that are standing by the wall and PETA wants fines can help. And, you know, he
44:25 goes like this right from the soldier and give us a fooling around. Follow me. You're
44:30 going to try to get a present. I don't see him. I remember reading the story, brother
44:37 Andrew, who used to smuggle Bibles called Gottesman to grieve or heard that story.
44:40 He's a smuggling bibles into the Soviet Union and he would pray to God blind the soldiers
44:46 and their research is cars and open the boxes. Look right at the Bibles and Letterman
44:49 through. I didn't see You know, Alijah Alysa prayed and whole Army went blind. Can
44:56 open eyes. And in close eyes. And see him again. Brill and Peter, the go walking out. And
45:02 they get to the great Iron Gate. The leads of the city. I read it you from the Bible. He
45:08 thought he was seen a vision when they were passes a verse 10. When they're past the
45:13 first in the Second Guard post, the gun by 14 soldiers. Now. And you realize that
45:19 these Roman soldiers, you lose someone, they're guarding, it's their life for the
45:22 prisoner's life. So they used to guard them very carefully. You read about when Paul is on
45:28 board with a bunch of prisoners in acts. Chapter 27. And they wanted to kill all
45:35 the prisoners before the ship sank because I thought key, some of them escape. It's our
45:39 life for their lives. And Paul, seated for them and they all survived. Told you a lot
45:43 of prisons stories in the Bible. They went past the first in the second. They came
45:50 to the Iron Gate that leads to the city. And Gabriel took a garage door opener opened
45:57 quietly on its hinges. Of its own accord. And they went out and down one street. And
46:05 immediately Angel departed from him. Also the like kind of faded. eyes are adjusting
46:12 and he sees these on these familiar cobblestone streets in Jerusalem. It's the middle
46:15 of the night. It's very quiet. And he's gone. Maybe this wasn't a dream. I was supposed
46:23 to die tomorrow. He's the reason. Peters wondering if it's a dream is if you go back
46:29 to chapters, Peter has the dream Chapter 10. He's one of this is a vision. This is not
46:33 a vision. This is real. By the way, God will really so just a dream. He will really save you
46:40 from prison. He'll say to you from your addictions will save you from your sense. He can
46:46 save you from your bad temper. He can save you from immoral thinking. What have been
46:54 innocent? People are in a prison of Some folks are the industry by what they eat and
47:00 some people are being destroyed by what he that. Whatever it is. Jesus could
47:05 break the chains and set you free. He said, wow. This is great. I think I'm going to
47:12 start singing the praises of God. But, you know, if you just escaped from a top
47:17 security prison on death row. You probably don't want to hang around in the streets. No
47:24 job. He says I'll bring you all the way out of prison. But now you've got to use common
47:26 sense. Now, Peter has a thing. Where do I go? Where is the first place he goes when you
47:32 get out of prison. The Bible says. Now I know verse 11. For certain. But the Lord has sent
47:43 his angel and deliver me from the hand of here. And that's the devil. And from all the
47:48 expectation of the Jewish people, that's the religious leaders. Peters, Jewish is not
47:51 the Jewish people, the Jewish people who are wanting to destroy him. So when you
47:56 consider this, he came to the House of Mary, the mother of John. You read the Gospel of
48:01 Mark whose surname was Mark. And he's a writer that gospel where many were gathered
48:08 together, praying that the the early church after its buildings back then. No, they
48:13 gathered in homes. A church was wherever the people gather together. Where does Peter
48:16 going to get out of jail? Goes to church. Friends of you've been saved by Jesus. You need
48:22 to be part of a church family and you need to get together. Now I realize we've just been
48:28 through a major exception with this pandemic, the praise God that looks like it to lift in.
48:33 Now, we may get some normality to life. God's people who have gotten in the habit of sort
48:38 of, you know, worshipping online worshipping at home. We need to start coming together.
48:42 It says in Hebrews, let us not for say he was Chapter 10, do not forsake the assembling of
48:48 yourselves together Anderson isn't all the more that you see the day approaching. Do
48:53 you see the day approaching? got people need to get back together. By the way, the
48:58 Sabbath that tells us is a holy convocation. That word means a convening coming
49:02 together. And after he received from prison, he went to church because we need each
49:09 other. I see the path hypocrites. There. There's always room for one more when
49:13 you need to go. That's right. It says churches, you know, it's a place where we learn to
49:21 love what a better place to learn to love. And we are just some people that are not
49:24 always lovable, but that's where we learned to love. Look at what Jesus did with the
49:28 apostles. So he goes to church. They're praying. And Peter Knocks at the door. He
49:39 goes not not a girl named Road comes and says who's there? So like a Joe She said Peter.
49:47 Peter, who? Yes, Peter, who? No, she quite say that. You need save it. She recognized
49:53 Peter's voice. Because of her gladness. She does not open the gate. But she runs in the
50:00 Peters out there. All of a sudden here is that Trump go off in the where the prison
50:06 not far away. We've been to Jerusalem. It's small city and he can hear the clamor of the
50:12 trumpet. you can hear the soldiers getting on their horses. The clatter of there
50:17 fee coming up and their armor. And and here's the streets for going up and down the streets
50:20 and knocking on doors. And you look guys. I got to get in here. And they're not
50:25 answering. So he says, well, if you're going to treat you that way and never come into
50:31 this church never met anybody that talked that way. Somebody in the church doesn't reminder
50:37 or doesn't appreciate them or doesn't give them the office. They thought they should have
50:41 or takes away the office. They used to have. Our doesn't pick the color carpet. They thought
50:44 to go in the multi-purpose room. And they say, well, if you're going to treat me that
50:49 way and it's going go back to jail. Why would you do that? Jesus through his that any of
50:56 play monopoly? exciting when you get the get out of jail card. Jesus is offering you a
51:04 get out of jail card. Why would you want to go to jail? So what do this? You get the
51:09 scourge. He keeps knocking. What is used to say not. That involves effort and the word
51:23 that Jesus uses in the Greek. It doesn't mean that one time you go in. I've been so like
51:25 it or does it? We want to stay. You're not. Once or twice. it is not. He did not
51:33 to talk continuing to knock and not and not on the door persistently. And if you have
51:42 ups solicitors a commute or trying sell you final panel, inner solar panels or
51:45 something. I got a little sign of our front door. And it says no solicitors. Unless you let
51:52 me give you a Bible study. First. It was amazing how quickly that stock. It's true.
52:03 One person said I'll take the Bible study. If you promise to listen to my he kept knocking.
52:11 Finally the open the door. Now she comes to the ones inside and they're all pretty, you
52:15 know who they prayed for. She's prone skews me pain. Oh, lord, please help your
52:23 servant. Peter, we need to we need to deliver. Peter, do a miracle. we believe.
52:29 >> She says skews during a But wait a second. What is it? Peters with the door? You're
52:34 crazy. >> That's what they see. >> Even the church doesn't
52:41 always have they said you're you're beside yourself. She kept insisting No is Peter,
52:50 know, can't be how could he get out of a top security prison? Maybe it's his angel.
52:56 you know what that means then is guardian angels of the door. Peter continued knocking
53:00 friends. Keep rain. He continued knocking. Continue praying. What gets people out
53:10 of prison? It's prayer. And they open the door and they were astonished. Wow, God does
53:18 answer prayer. Some of the people in your community that you might think are the most
53:21 hopeless. You'd be shot. A lawyer can get them out of prison. Motioning to them with
53:28 his hands that they're so excited to be quiet for some other looking for me.
53:33 Secondly, I want to tell you how God got me out of prison after he saved the shares. His
53:36 testimony, he goes to church and you begin your first sermon is what the Lord is
53:39 done for you. He shares his testimony of God, got him out of prison. To go tell these
53:46 things. Then after you're safe from prison, you go and you tell, can you and he went to
53:52 another more secure location. Now I can't I can't. This is as soon as it was date is no
53:59 small stir among the soldiers. What had become of Peter? I just can't wait to get to
54:03 haven't watched the video. Mario wakes up so are, you know, sleeping on the stone
54:10 floors? New looks over Ulises and there's an empty manacled. And there's no Peter. I do
54:17 think this isn't funny, guys. Don't fool around like this. He wakes up Tony, what are you
54:22 doing? This is not what's going to be drunk left. I don't do this 20, which of
54:27 those works in collective senses and goes, oh, something's missing. Here.
54:29 What you put him. all they did something just a pound on the door that opened up. Don't
54:36 play tricks like this were to put is when you talk where is he? He's still in I love the
54:43 way Lou says is there is no small stir. That means there's an enormous stir. What
54:49 happened to Peter? I remember playing hide and seek with my kids once one. Now there are
54:56 like 5.79 Rachel's 9 and I found the best hiding place in our living room. We had a
55:02 height of couch. You know, convertible couch. There's kind of an empty pocket just
55:05 above where the bid pushes up. I know this isn't safe. Don't tell me I told my daughter
55:14 reach with you. Call up in there. I will close the height of bad. You let me know if you
55:18 get enough room up with the cushions back on. Don't ever kitchens you skinny. And so
55:23 putting up their clothes. It could push up the UK for her. It's okay. So. The boys we all
55:28 count you came out and pretty soon, you know. Daniel from Mike and they found me and
55:33 Mister looking for Rachel. So where is she? She's in here. And they're looking and
55:39 they're looking in there looking. This is he's in here than on a light on promise.
55:44 You she's in London. And they're looking behind the curtain. looking in the clause
55:50 in there looking everywhere. And it was so funny to see them eventually. The picking
55:54 up a book on the table in looking into the book. For the 9 year-old sister looking
55:59 under the lamp for their sister. I picture those Roman soldiers. And the Bible tells
56:07 us they're sifting through the straw. They can find here. Herod was so embarrassed he
56:12 had them all executed. And he left town. He goes down to the sea court to try to get away
56:18 from the shame. What happened now, these apostles a flip way twice. Giving a speech. The
56:24 people for it is the voice of a God and not a man. The angel of the Lord struck Harry
56:29 because he would not give God the glory and he was eaten by worms. Josephus. The historian
56:36 says the very same thing that he was devoured from the inside by magnets. They don't
56:40 know why. You start out here is in charge. He's on the throne. Word of God as being
56:46 bound. Peters in prison. Now Peters out of prison. The word of God. Look at the last thing
56:52 it says here in the chapter. It says. But the word of daughters 24 grew and multiply
56:58 can use a mint. The word of God will set you free from prison friends. If you take
57:03 that first step follow Jesus. want to close with his verse. You find in Isaiah Chapter,
57:09 61. It tells us about the Ministry of Christ. It says he sent me to heal the
57:15 brokenhearted to proclaim Liberty to the captains and the opening of prison to those
