You know, the Bible tells us about Giants very 06:53 early in the book of Genesis. You've got your rivals. You can look in Genesis 6 for a 06:57 lot of people struggle with this. It says there were giants on the earth in those 07:03 days and also afterward, when the sons of God came into the daughters of men and they bore 07:10 them children. These were my team in poor old man of renown. I've heard some really 07:15 crazy theories about this when they say the sons of God, Mary, the daughters of men, 07:20 some think that these were fallen angels. Are aliens and they have these bizarre 07:27 children, no friends, not at all. You see there are 2 classes back then the children 07:33 of Seth who are faithful to God and still worship. God called the Sons of God. The 07:38 Bible says in John Chapter 3, what don't you know what manner of love the father's 07:42 bestowed upon us that we should be called Friends of God. And so those faithful to 07:47 God began to intermarry with the daughters of Keene, the Sons of Men, the Bible taught 07:53 to believe not even married with hon Unbelievers because then you get the wrong 07:55 influence. And so why would the children giants? It's called genetic vitality. Do 08:04 you know what a liger is? A liger? I think I got a picture on the screen. Their Lakers, 08:11 the biggest cat in the world is a cross between a lion and the Tiger. And the largest 08:19 mail in modern times that they've recorded was 12 feet long and 800 pounds. It's 08:24 called genetic vitality, often get gigantic offspring when the children of Cain had been 08:29 separated for many generations from the children of set. But when they enter married, there 08:34 is that additional vitality and they were giants. What you see this even in the Bible, 08:37 you look even after the flood Deuteronomy 3.11. One of them says how the world that we can ever get a million people across this 15:38 river. Well, we found that out last night, right? But he didn't know. So he created 15:44 some doubts. Then they came within the view of Jericho and they said, how are we ever 15:50 going to Congress city fortified like that? But the walls are massive. Historians 15:57 say they got right, Sherry, it's around the top of the walls of Jericho. And then we 16:02 went up into the foothills of Hebron where the and I can live. The Giants. And they 16:06 said they're so big. How are we ever going to conquer them? Now? The attitude of Joshua 16:16 Caleb was completely different from the other 10. They saw the Jordan River and the said, 16:19 oh, look at this. You can throw a rock across it. And after the ferry across the 16:24 river, this is a look at look at the Springs for Jericho. Look at the palm trees. Look 16:28 at the dates. They got up to the mountains with the Giants lives around Hebron. And Caleb 16:36 said, wow, look at the soil. Look how green and verdant everything is. There's honey 16:41 dripping from the trees and, you know, the bible calls it a land flowing with milk and 16:45 honey, and that was literal. You can read about a story in the Bible. Will Jonathan is in 16:52 a battle and he's going through the woods. The hungry and he sticks his spear into a 16:57 puddle of honey on the ground. Remember reading it? Flowing with honey? I guess there was 17:04 so much vegetation and flowers in clover that the goats and cows there are. Others would 17:08 squirt as they walked because milk and honey, we use them have go to you don't look at 17:15 one time. They'll move themselves will start anyway. And so it was a Richland. 17:18 Caleb said. I want this land. Look at the springs in the southern exposure. And as 17:25 we're going through the land, 10 of them keep focusing on the problems. Joshua and Caleb 17:33 Focus on the promises. And Joshua and Caleb are saying, oh, look at these lows. You'll 17:39 note, Apollo Like a massive grape root beer there in the Middle East of tremendous. But 17:45 they're different. And then the pomegranate the grapes and that the figures and got the 17:51 dates and and Joshua killed. I can just picture guys got to see this led to some of these 17:56 dates. I think it's sticky dates in their pockets and then they this all to these 18:00 figs and they got to get a neat. And they told them they said we went to the land where you send us and 20:15 truly it flows with milk and honey. And this is the fruit and they're tossing grapes. 20:20 The people to duck here comes a grape your big rates. And they're throwing the figs and 20:24 the pomegranate son and it's going to move in But then the other 10 guys caught up. And 20:32 they gave the minority report, not the majority report. The more minority report is very 20:37 positive. But here's the majority report. Nevertheless, the people who dwell in the 20:42 land are strong. And the cities are fortified in very large. Moreover, we saw the 20:48 descendants of the in air and Ali kites dwell in the land of the south in the hit heights 20:56 and the Jebusite and the Emirates and the termites in the gigabytes of the 20:59 candidates. >> And they do well by the sea and along the banks of the 21:03 Jordan. And everybody is hearing this dollars negative information that they're 21:08 getting in >> what are we going to do? You know, we don't want to go 21:14 back to the wilderness and we don't want to go back to Egypt, the sleighs and then we 21:17 can into the promised land. >> It's amazing. How in 5 minutes. You can lose. I'm a 21:30 massive the experience of victory in faith. If you listen to the devil for 5 21:31 minutes. How could they so quickly forget? How they got there to the borders of the 21:37 Jordan. >> All the plagues hailed upon the heads of the Egyptians, 21:45 the set them Free 10 mighty plagues. The fire in the hail and the darkness and the Frogs 21:54 and the lyceum many parts of the sea. That is a plague on the for the first born during 21:59 the Passover. Then they get hungry, give them bread from heaven. Give them water from 22:03 Iraq. The year the voice of God talking to them from the mountain. What nations that 22:09 are heard, God speak to them. They see the pillar of God's presence right there before 22:14 them. And then they got the audacity to listen to a little negative report that says I 22:21 don't how we're going to ever get in the promised land. What was the promise land called 22:25 the Promised Land. Because God promised to bring him in. But instead of listening to that 22:33 promise of God, they started listening to the negative questioning report. Of these 22:36 messengers. Who, by the way, we're all church members. Is not right. They were always 22:45 writes, they went to the same churches, Joshua and Caleb. We just read the Bible says they 22:50 were leaders. Listen, we can make This is where I'm going with this. And I'm going to 23:01 try and reiterated through a few different stories. God, his said that he can save you 23:07 if you will be saved. The devil doesn't want you to believe it, Chris. The devil 23:14 is the one who told Leave. Trust me. Don't trust God, eat the forbidden fruit and how to 23:16 that end. I tried to take it home. 23:50 I have forgotten, but I always go I remember buying something leave it there realizing the 23:59 next day left. I went back and I talked him out of it. And they got here is good that you 24:08 What God has sent his son. And paid for all of your sins. And suffer like he did if it was 24:17 not possible for you to be safe. So the question is, who do you believe? You've got to 24:25 reports here? Now the land is eating people up. They kept making it worse and worse. 25:31 It's not just the Giants in the cities, the lid and leave them up. The land is a land 25:37 that will eat up all the people and the men. We saw a man of great stature. They 25:43 were the Giants, the descendants of a knack, the cam from the Giants. And we 25:46 feel like grasshoppers in our own site. >> So now they're doing some 25:50 things called Grasshopper thinking. >> They kept looking at how 25:55 big the problem was and they did not consider how big the promises. The devil wants us 26:02 to think like Grasshoppers, God wants us to think in big ways we serve a big God can 26:09 use Amen. You know that you and God are always a majority. If you've got God on your 26:17 side, all things are possible. That's why Jesus when the disciples got stay scared in 26:23 the storm, they will commission. Why were you afraid? I'm with you. You 26:27 think I'm gonna go down? You know, if you get with you, your ship is an unthinkable 26:32 shipped. You don't have to be afraid. God was with them. Why have they last beat? Now? I 26:42 got to be careful how I say this, but I want tell you the truth. So here you've got. 26:46 These are all Israelites. You've got 10 of them saying we are not able to make it. 26:52 Because the enemy is bigger than we are. And you get to them that are saying we are 26:57 able. To overcome. Jesus says in revelation, chapter 2 in 3, 7, times to him that overcomes 27:07 to him. That overcomes to him, that overcomes to him, that overcomes to him that 27:11 overcomes and counting to him. That overcomes. >> The handover comes. Now 27:15 DeJesus. Make it clear it's possible to overcome. Why would Jesus say I've got all 27:21 these promises for those that overcome if it was not possible for you to overcome. 27:27 Anything, God ask you to do. He will empower you to do. If God says this is the promise 27:32 land. I want you to go take it. They don't say I don't think we can because of God's 27:38 telling to do it. You know, you can do it. Because as positive God before us who can 27:44 be against us. The Bible promises greater. Is he that is in you than he? That is in 27:50 the world. So are we talking about Giants dud? Metaphorically, the giant that 27:56 you and I grapple with. Is about the devil and send in particular in our lives. 28:05 Thinking how can I be in overcoming? How can I change? I keep making the same mistake 28:12 I fall again and again in the same area and I feel so weak and then I hear Pastor stand 28:17 up and they spend all their sermon time talking about Greece, which I believe in 28:21 God's forgiveness and grace. The power of God can free the attic from drugs. Or pornography or 28:42 pride, whatever the problems are, God can save you from your since. I have no 28:45 patience. When I hear pastors and other religious leaders just talking about God saving 28:51 is with our sins because the way I read my Bible, the Angel told Mary, you'll call his 28:57 name Jesus for. He will save his people from their sense. When I came to Jesus, my 29:02 problem was in. smoking and using drugs cursing and living immorally in all the sins and 29:13 bad vocabulary. And God little by little. He convicted me didn't change all at once. But 29:23 he convicted me and I just praise him because I kept seeing how he was transforming 29:27 me. He gives you a new heart things that was old. Things are passed away. All things 29:33 are made new. Behold, you're a new creature. You are born again. So the idea that you 29:37 cannot have victory over Sen isn't biblical. >> I'm not teaching 29:42 perfectionism help folks understand that. I'm not saying that we turn into some 29:46 kind of sterile, stainless steel robot. You're going to be you. But you can be holy. 29:53 Because the Bible says without holding the snowman will see the Lord. Blessed are the pure 29:58 in heart. Comments appear fine. Your heart. How many of you want that blessing? 30:05 Blessed are the pure in heart. They will see gone. And so it is possible for you to conquer 30:11 the Giants. You can into the promised land. I believe Kayla. It. I do not believe 30:18 the other 10, even though they may be in the majority. Most is the one who said do not 30:23 follow a majority to do evil. It's often the crowd that does the wrong thing. So let us go 30:30 up. We are well able to take it. And the people said, no, we can't do it. And so all of 30:38 chapter, 14 of numbers, all the congregation lift up their voices in crime. And the 30:42 people with that night and all the children of Israel complaint against Moses and 30:48 Aaron, begin to see only we had died in the land of Egypt or if only we had died in this 30:54 wilderness. Why did the Lord bring us out? Be careful what you pray. Why the Lord bring 30:59 us into this land to fall by the Ford. For this and let's elect another leader and go 31:04 back to Egypt. Can you imagine the people wanting to go back to the slavery of Egypt? And 31:11 yet I meet people in the church to say I want I want to see him a Christian, but I 31:15 want to go back to the slavery of the devil and Sen. Jesus wants to save you from your 31:21 sins. He wants due be set free. He wants you to enjoy the peace and security. Of 31:29 holiness that he's offering. Well, you know, it ended up happening. A plague broke out 31:35 among the people and those men who just gave a negative report died in that plague. 31:41 And God says because you did not believe me and you have been testing all the sign. 31:44 After all, I did to save you. I'm paraphrasing now. He says for every day those spies 31:50 looked at the promise land 40 days. You're not going to wonder for 40 years until that 31:55 whole generation dies off. I will bring your children that you said would never make it. 31:59 I will bring them into the promised land. And that's what happened. The only 2 people, 32:05 20 years old and older than 20 that made it into the promised land where Joshua and Caleb. 32:12 Very interesting demographics when they finally crossed over. That means there are 32:15 only 2 people over 40 years of age, no say over 60. Only 2 people over 60 out of 32:22 2 Million. They all died off because of what? Says. And he 11. Those that generation did 32:31 not enter in because of Unbelief. Friends of the message is a message of faith. 32:39 All things are possible to him. The believes. And Jesus said be it unto you according 32:44 to your faith. If you believe. He can do anything, people came to Jesus and they said 32:51 Lord. Yeah, I believe you can hear my servant in and you don't even need to go. And he 32:58 I've not seen faith like this in all of Israel because you believe it. I'm not going to 33:01 your servant field. A lady came to Jesus and my daughters demon possessed, speak the 33:08 word and she'll be healed. He said because your faith, your daughter as well. And then a 33:13 man brought his son to Jesus and said, Lord, if you can do anything, she said I that's a 33:15 dirty word for me. The 2 letter word. You can believe all things are possible. There 33:25 are 2 thieves in the cross is next to Jesus. One of them for the Lord. Remember me when you 33:31 come into your kingdom, he said Lord, you've got a kingdom. Remember me said 33:35 you'll be with me in Paradise. The other one said if you are the Christ, Save yourself in 33:40 us. He was not saved. The devil came to Jesus in the wilderness and city. If you're 33:48 the son of got right away, that De Jesus knew that was it was a devil. He's always 33:55 casting doubt. >> Has got said you're not supposed to eat. 33:59 >> We're treating question and doubt about the word of God. We need to believe friends, 34:04 all things are possible. There's an incredible power of faith that God's offering us. 34:07 Now. I want you to jump ahead to the book of Joshua. Joshua chapter 14. We're fast 34:13 forwarding 40 years. This is now are jumping over where we read yesterday after Josh, 34:20 when the children this will get into the promised land. They're conquering the taking 34:23 possession of the promised land. Caleb comes to his old buddy, Joshua. Since then, the 34:29 children of Judah came to Joshua in guilt. Gal and Caleb, the son of Japhanie. 34:33 The keen Insight said to him. You know, the word the Lord spoke to Moses, the man of God 34:39 can Sunni concerning you and me in Kadesh-barnea. And then you heard a shout go up from Israel and all the guys 52:20 that, yeah, I knew we could do it. They didn't even believe. And the philistines fall that 52:28 and they turned and ran to say could see that God, which was David. You know, friends, God 52:33 will be with you. In your battles. Don't look at how big the enemy is. All things are 52:40 possible to him that believes he took the Giants had with the sword. Jesus said I came 52:46 not to send peace but a sword. The word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any 52:52 2 edge sword. We need to fill our minds with the word how to Jesus fight temptation when 52:56 the Giants come. It is written. Why? 53:39 Because he believed in God and he didn't look at the problems. He looked at the 53:43 promise of God, you know, the Bible tells us you read the whole history of David and his 53:47 many, many chapters about David. He never lost a battle. He's one of the great even 53:55 Alexander. The great loss and fees are lost in battle to the polling big ones. David never 53:58 lost the battle. Power of God and Jesus in you 55:04 can give power to resist the temptation to spend your responsibly. He can change 55:08 every area of your life. And this is what the Lord wants to them.
