00:23 Hello, boys and girls,
00:25 and welcome to Kids Camp Creation Crafts.
00:28 We are so excited you have joined us today.
00:30 Are you ready for some crafting?
00:32 We sure are.
00:33 We are your hosts, I'm Miss Suzi.
00:35 And I'm Mr. Ryan.
00:36 I'm so glad that you have joined us.
00:38 We've got some helpers in here.
00:39 Are you guys ready to make a craft?
00:41 Yeah!
00:42 Ooh! We are ready.
00:44 You guys sound a little bit rowdy,
00:46 we might need some help.
00:47 Let's get some referees up here.
00:48 Thanks, ladies, for helping. Thank you.
00:50 They're gonna help with the craft
00:51 if we need some assistance
00:53 and carry around some microphones,
00:55 so you guys can answer our questions.
00:57 We are glad that you have joined us.
00:58 We've got an exciting craft,
01:00 and Miss Suzi is gonna lead us the way through this one.
01:02 What are we gonna make today?
01:04 Today, we are making "String art grafitti."
01:06 We're gonna be talking about leaving our mark.
01:09 So that leads me,
01:10 we like to connect a scripture with our craft.
01:13 Mr. Ryan, what is our Bible verse for today?
01:15 Our verse today comes from 1 Timothy 4:12,
01:20 "Let no one look down upon you because you are young."
01:24 We got some young people.
01:26 Sometimes adults can look down on young people
01:28 but in 1 Timothy it says, "But set an example
01:32 for the believers in your speech,
01:35 your conduct, your love,
01:37 your faithfulness, and purity."
01:41 So Timothy is there,
01:42 we're getting some guidance for you guys,
01:44 you guys can set the example and you can leave your mark,
01:49 and that's what this craft's about.
01:51 So, Miss Suzi, can you lead us to some directions.
01:54 I think I can.
01:55 Boys and girls, are we ready for some crafting?
01:57 Yeah!
01:59 All right.
02:00 I'm gonna go ahead and move this,
02:02 that way you've got room to work,
02:04 now that we have seen what we are doing.
02:07 All right, the first thing
02:08 we want to do is we're actually...
02:10 We have an 8x10 canvas,
02:13 and I want everybody to flip that over,
02:14 we are gonna write our names first
02:16 because this is gonna get a little messy.
02:17 So we wanna go ahead and do this first,
02:19 so if you wanna go ahead and write your name.
02:22 No, I cannot finish it.
02:23 Oh, you have a good writing, here we go.
02:27 That's fine, you gotta friend. Okay.
02:28 I'm glad you guys are making friends here
02:30 as we're making crafts.
02:31 All right, as soon as we get our name on it,
02:33 go ahead and flip it back over.
02:36 Okay.
02:38 Put the back on.
02:39 Now what we need to do is we need to take our string.
02:41 Put the back on.
02:43 We have about 10 feet of string here.
02:45 You can make it as long as you want
02:47 or short as you want.
02:48 And what we are gonna be doing
02:49 is wrapping this around our piece of canvas,
02:53 and this is what's gonna help us
02:54 leave our mark on our art work here.
02:58 The next step you wanna do
02:59 is on the backside of your canvas,
03:02 we're gonna start our string,
03:04 and we're gonna go ahead and tape it in the top corner.
03:08 So we have some tape now.
03:10 Be careful before you pull your tape,
03:11 make sure that you hold your plates with your paint...
03:14 Down that way, it doesn't fly forward on us.
03:16 No, this way.
03:18 Unless you really wanna be on this, huh?
03:21 I think we're already leaving our mark over here.
03:23 All right, it sounds great.
03:25 Okay, so once you have the corner taped
03:28 with your strings started,
03:30 you wanna go ahead
03:31 and we're going to wrap the string
03:34 around our canvas and you can wrap it
03:37 in any pattern you want, as many times as you want.
03:40 If you wanna do it once, that's fine.
03:43 If you wanna do it twice, that's fine as well.
03:46 Along the way, just hold the string in place.
03:49 You may wanna place another piece of tape.
03:53 Wherever you needed,
03:54 just to make sure that it stays in place, okay.
03:56 You wanna make sure it's good and tight,
03:58 so that as we put our paint on here,
04:00 the string won't move.
04:07 All right, I'm standing on a string here.
04:09 Okay, kids do you ever feel like adults
04:12 are just stringing you along?
04:14 Always trying to rope you into doing things.
04:17 Yeah.
04:20 You know dad jokes are for the grownups.
04:23 So I'll try to do the dad jokes around here.
04:26 All right, but... You should try to stop those.
04:29 No, I can't stop it, this is part of it.
04:31 Kids, if you ever heard of the robe joke?
04:33 No.
04:35 Who's heard of the robe joke?
04:36 Nobody.
04:38 Skip it.
04:40 Okay. Where do I plug it?
04:41 Okay.
04:43 All right.
04:45 Why that one's sinking I guess.
04:46 How we are doing with our string here?
04:48 Sabby, do you need some help? There we go.
04:51 All right, let's see if we can help you.
04:52 We wanna get this really nice and tight.
04:54 That's great.
04:56 'Cause otherwise it won't...
04:57 You know, you can always tape it down
04:59 in the back too, if you wanna hold it.
05:00 Excuse me, Miss Cindy.
05:02 If the string doesn't stay in place,
05:03 we don't quiet get the effect that we would like.
05:05 Miss Suzi, we've got a question back here.
05:07 Sure.
05:09 Keep wrapping, okay. How do you stop it?
05:12 Use another piece of tape
05:13 to hold it on the back in place.
05:16 Now your string won't move.
05:18 And we'll leave the extra hanging as well,
05:20 that way when we go to undo this string,
05:22 it will be easier.
05:24 Oh, you guys are doing... All right, so...
05:25 Yeah, yeah.
05:27 Okay, go ahead and wind it
05:28 in any random pattern that you want.
05:32 Pull more tight.
05:34 Yeah, good job.
05:36 And every now and then we're just gonna stick it,
05:37 we'll staple real tight.
05:39 Well, I think that's great.
05:40 We'll stick a piece of tape just to kinda hold it still.
05:42 Put robe at anywhere?
05:44 You can put it anywhere you want, that's right.
05:47 And this is the fun of crafting,
05:49 you get to be creative and make it your very own
05:51 and no two will look alike.
05:53 Very good.
05:56 This is some good string art.
05:59 Now you can be thinking about colors,
06:00 'cause we're gonna put some colors on there.
06:03 And maybe we're thinking about,
06:04 where did you put this up at home.
06:07 Well, Miss Suzi may have some directions for us here
06:09 so wait just a moment for the next part.
06:10 We're waiting just a moment for Sebastian to finish this.
06:12 What do you think we are gonna do next?
06:13 We gonna be done.
06:15 Okay, may be one more.
06:18 No problem, we are ready for you.
06:20 You know, I don't mind making a mess,
06:21 I think making a mess
06:23 is part of the fun of doing crafts.
06:26 But, kids, what should we do if we make a mess?
06:29 Clean it up. Clean it up.
06:31 It's so nice we just clean it up at the end
06:33 and that's okay.
06:34 Does anyone need any more tape?
06:36 Me. All right.
06:38 You need some more tape?
06:39 Okay, you wanna make sure,
06:40 it's really tight on the front, okay.
06:43 If not, tighten those strings.
06:44 I need some more.
06:46 Okay, we can get you another, right.
06:48 Okay, some more or what.
06:51 Here's some more tape.
06:52 So we are gonna tighten your string again a little bit.
06:54 Okay, who back here needed some tape?
06:57 All right. Let me get over here.
06:59 Can we tape it down here?
07:01 We're gonna make this one nice and tight here.
07:04 No, tape it on the back.
07:06 The tape should go on the back, that way we won't see the tape.
07:09 Okay, who else need some...
07:11 And, boys and girls,
07:12 if you wanna know the directions to our crafts,
07:15 they can be found on 3abnkidscamp.tv.
07:21 Yeah, let's keep wrapping the string around.
07:23 Anyone else need some?
07:25 Oh, what we can...
07:26 You know, if it gets too loose,
07:29 we can wrap it around
07:30 and put some more tape on the back.
07:31 Here you go. Okay.
07:33 It went up.
07:34 Oh, I think Miss Suzi's got some more tape for us.
07:37 Do we need some more over there?
07:38 Miss Suzi, we're gonna need a few more over here.
07:39 All right.
07:41 I have done something like this,
07:42 but you take tape like that and put it off.
07:45 Oh, that will give you the same effect too.
07:47 May I have some tape please? Yes.
07:49 Was there another spot?
07:51 Here just...
07:52 I need some more tape.
07:54 All right.
07:55 All right, let's see.
07:56 You know, I'm just gonna do this,
07:58 and I think you are about ready.
07:59 I'm gonna...
08:00 Well, let's go ahead and tape this.
08:02 Very good, that will be fine.
08:03 Just like that, you wanna put that tape down there?
08:06 There you go.
08:07 You guys are coming up with some great designs.
08:09 Okay.
08:10 Perfect.
08:11 You need some help too.
08:13 There you go, so let's leave it down
08:14 and get ready for the next step.
08:16 Yes.
08:17 All right, I think we are just about ready.
08:18 Yes, you guys know. Hold it real tight.
08:20 All right, are we getting ready?
08:21 Can I have another piece of tape please?
08:22 Sure, I'll take the tape.
08:24 Sure, there you go.
08:25 Thank you, Mr. Ryan.
08:27 Okay, our next step is,
08:28 after we have our string on there,
08:30 you wanna get it real nice and tight.
08:32 Go ahead and pick your colors, we have acrylic paints.
08:35 And you are gonna use your sponges.
08:37 We have a couple different kind of sponges,
08:38 it doesn't really matter, any sponge will do.
08:42 And you wanna go ahead and pick a color
08:44 and dab
08:47 your sponge in there,
08:52 just like that,
08:54 and then you are gonna go ahead and mark it.
08:56 Start dabbing it down.
08:57 Now the important thing is you don't wanna rub,
08:59 you actually wanna just kind of dab
09:02 because if you rub, your string will move.
09:06 Here you go.
09:08 Yeah, leave it some more if it gets thick.
09:11 Who has the favorite color over here?
09:13 Anybody?
09:14 Raise your hand and we'll get a mike to you.
09:16 Green. We like green.
09:18 What do you like? Blue.
09:19 Blue. Blue.
09:21 Wow!
09:22 You guys said that at the same time.
09:23 All right, what do you like over here?
09:25 Blue.
09:26 Yeah, blue is my favorite.
09:28 Brown.
09:29 Brown, wow, I don't think we've heard that one yet.
09:30 Don't hear that too often.
09:32 Brown is an awesome color.
09:34 Can you give me one...
09:35 Turquoise.
09:37 We don't have that many of those.
09:38 Let's go and use these sponges right here, okay.
09:40 And when you're ready for another color,
09:42 you can go ahead and pick another sponge.
09:44 We'll just set these used ones to the side.
09:47 Pick another sponge and pick another color
09:49 and you can keep dabbing it on.
09:52 All right, you guys are doing...
09:53 Yeah, just start it.
09:54 When you get around the strings you gonna dab it
09:56 under the strings,
09:57 that means that just gently press down over it.
10:00 You don't have to color in between.
10:02 You can press down right on top of the string.
10:04 In fact, it's really important that you don't brush it,
10:07 because that string will move
10:09 and then you don't get the line underneath.
10:12 Yeah, very good.
10:14 Yeah, just keep dabbing it in,
10:17 you can dab right on top of the string.
10:22 So this is all about trying to leave a mark.
10:24 What do you think we're gonna do with this string
10:26 when we are done?
10:27 Remove it.
10:29 That's right.
10:30 We are going to remove the string
10:33 and you'll see that it will leave a mark.
10:37 We think that you kids are good enough
10:41 and have great ideas that you can leave marks
10:44 on the people around you.
10:46 What are some good things
10:47 that you can do as we are dabbing here,
10:49 that could leave good marks on your family
10:52 or may be a church around you.
10:53 All right.
10:55 May be you could add a different color
10:57 and make like a little sign of it.
10:59 Oh, that's would help make our craft look good.
11:03 What about some good things that you can do at your home
11:07 that can be like a good thing?
11:09 Let's go over here. Doing some chores.
11:12 Chores, let's...
11:13 I would say listening to your mom and dad
11:14 and doing your chores,
11:16 that's how you leave a mark on your family.
11:19 Did you have something, Oliver?
11:21 Clean up your toys even when mom may...
11:23 When your mom doesn't say so.
11:25 Oh, clean up even when your mom
11:28 doesn't say so.
11:29 That's a really good one.
11:30 All right.
11:32 I love that.
11:33 Yeah, here we go, Scarlett.
11:35 Let's look at our friends on, now here.
11:38 So I was only thinking when you...
11:42 When your mom asked you,
11:44 or your dad and they ask you to do something
11:47 like take out the trash, you don't complain,
11:49 you just say yes sir.
11:51 Oh, I like that one.
11:52 Yeah, if you could say, yes sir,
11:54 I would really appreciate that.
11:56 Excellent!
11:57 These are great ways to leave your mark
12:00 on your family just by doing it your chore
12:03 or whatever task we're being told.
12:05 And we hope this little craft here
12:07 will help you to remember,
12:09 I'm trying to leave my mark on my family
12:12 and on the world around us.
12:14 That's right, Mr. Ryan.
12:16 It's always a good idea
12:17 to leave a good mark wherever we go.
12:21 So what kinda...
12:22 Are we just using regular paper here?
12:24 What kinda...
12:25 What is this board?
12:27 Does anybody know? Okay, what is it?
12:29 Canvas.
12:30 Canvas, now where do you get a canvas?
12:32 Store.
12:34 At any store?
12:36 An art and craft store.
12:39 Okay.
12:41 An art or a craft store, that's right.
12:45 So these canvases are really nice,
12:47 these are pretty sturdy,
12:48 so can put a little pressure on there
12:50 and they're gonna last a long time.
12:52 All right.
12:53 Well, when we are all done,
12:55 getting our canvas covered in paint,
12:57 we wanna remove the string.
12:58 Now you wanna be really careful
13:00 because the string will have paint on it.
13:03 So I'm gonna go ahead and pull my excess string.
13:07 And the fun thing about this is you kinda get two crafts in one
13:11 because at the end,
13:13 you end up having a multicolored string as well.
13:16 I don't know if you can see that,
13:18 and you can use that for anything as well.
13:21 So when we go ahead and finish removing this.
13:25 Has anybody already removed any string here?
13:27 Oh, thanks for sharing you guys.
13:29 Just wanna be real careful
13:30 'cause this does have paint on it.
13:36 Just like this.
13:37 Come back here.
13:39 Oops, I got one little piece of string here.
13:40 Time really flies, when you are doing crafts.
13:43 It sure does.
13:44 Have you guys had fun today
13:46 making some string art graffiti?
13:48 And this is what your final product
13:50 would look like.
13:53 All right, we've had fun here today,
13:55 we hope you have too.
13:56 Thank you for joining us on Creation Crafts,
13:59 where scripture inspires creativity.
14:03 All right, it looks like these crafts
14:04 gonna leave a mark on you guys here.
