00:01 So if you just join us on Cook:30 for kids,
00:03 we're cooking up a storm in the kitchen,
00:06 with Tony, Locklyn and Lilly.
00:08 What's on the menu today, guys?
00:10 Well, looks like we have mini taco pizzas
00:13 with refried beans,
00:15 lime guacamole and potato roasties.
00:18 And for drink we have fruit smoothies.
00:21 We are making excellent progress on our meal here.
00:23 The potato roasties in the oven,
00:25 the refried beans are done, we've chopped up most of these.
00:28 You've made the guacamole.
00:30 You guys are an amazing speedy courage,
00:32 you want a job on a cafe?
00:33 Okay. Sure.
00:35 We continue there, and we work there,
00:36 it'd be great, you guys will make an awesome team.
00:37 So we just got these little guys here,
00:39 so we're just gonna put 'em in the oven.
00:41 We've got, we spread them though before.
00:42 We're just gonna get them around about
00:44 probably two minutes just to kind of,
00:47 just go for that kind of, not uncooked state,
00:50 but just to kind of freshen up
00:51 and make it little bit kind of solid crisp
00:53 but still soft but just warm.
00:55 So that will make them really good.
00:56 And we're gonna present on this lovely wooden chopping board.
00:59 So we're gonna present these little pieces.
01:01 So that's excellent, we're done with.
01:02 We need some lettuce. So we've got some lettuce here.
01:06 So, yeah, oh, that guacamole, look at that.
01:08 Looks amazing. Looks great.
01:09 You guys gonna try it. Try the guacamole.
01:12 It's really important when you're cooking to try
01:15 and as you go and see what it's like.
01:16 Mmm.
01:19 It's so creamy and lovely, isn't it?
01:20 Yeah.
01:22 There's some on your face, Lilly, how did they get there?
01:25 Awesome, so, yes, that's really awesome cream,
01:27 they'll go really well with stuff.
01:28 So put these in the side, give me after finishing that.
01:31 So good.
01:33 Just gonna slice some lettuce up
01:34 just because we can or we got something fresh
01:36 so we've got some standard kind of iceberg lettuce.
01:39 Do you guys call this iceberg lettuce?
01:41 I'm not sure.
01:42 That's what we call back in New Zealand anyway,
01:44 so just gonna give it some really,
01:46 just a little bit of a chop up, so it's really fine
01:49 and that's gonna sit in our lovely pizza tacos.
01:53 What's the difference between red and yellow tomatoes?
01:57 Red and yellow tomatoes? The color.
02:01 That's all, it is the color.
02:03 And when you're using tomatoes, it's great,
02:04 you can get different color ones,
02:06 the red and the yellow, I always use both,
02:07 often use both.
02:08 It just gives great color
02:10 because color is the number one thing
02:11 you wanna do when you're cooking.
02:13 Okay. So that's awesome.
02:14 So those are probably, I actually just warmed up,
02:15 that's all we need, the oven's really hot,
02:17 so those will be just warmed up enough to use.
02:21 And I think we got everything ready to start assembling.
02:23 Oh, yeah, look at there.
02:25 So we're just gonna lay them out like that
02:27 and start making a mini pizza.
02:30 Smells delicious. It's great.
02:33 So, Tony, can you go to the fridge
02:34 and get the cilantro out of there.
02:36 Sure.
02:37 So we gonna use some chops of cilantro as well.
02:39 Just get this hot pan over here out of the way.
02:43 And always to do now
02:45 I'll start assembling, thanks for that.
02:46 And I love keeping herbs in a paper towel like this,
02:51 just keeps them nice and fresh.
02:53 What makes herbs go really bad in the refrigerators?
02:55 If we put them in the refrigerators
02:56 in the main section with this lots of very dry air
02:59 going in there and they dry up very, very quickly
03:01 so, that's why we do that.
03:03 So, Tony, you can chop this if you like.
03:05 You can show us your chopping skills.
03:08 So what do you call this in China?
03:09 Shauntach.
03:11 Shauntach? Yeah.
03:12 Well, well you have it there. It's great.
03:15 Just give it a slice or probably,
03:16 this one here's probably the cleanest one to use.
03:18 So just slice it through, just roughly,
03:21 so probably about the third part.
03:22 Wonderful.
03:24 Excellent, you should probably do it more fine
03:25 so go through it few bit, few more time through here
03:28 and just gonna make it a little bit more finer.
03:30 Brilliant, excellent chopping skills.
03:32 Looks great. Looks good.
03:34 So let's start layering up these pizzas.
03:36 Yes.
03:38 So I'll show you the first one and then you guys can take it.
03:39 So, Lilly, you can do the first layer with the stuff.
03:41 Okay.
03:42 Have refried beans that we've made ourselves,
03:45 so basically we're just gonna do a base
03:48 like that and spread it out.
03:52 Or the beans instead of cheese?
03:55 Yes, it's kind of just like a nice protein base
03:56 to have at the bottom.
03:58 So this is number one step,
03:59 so you can be in charge of that, Lilly.
04:01 Okay.
04:02 And then we're gonna put on some guacamole.
04:05 Mmm. Yum!
04:07 And you can be in charge of that, Locklyn.
04:09 Okay.
04:11 And then we're gonna put on the veggies.
04:13 We're gonna put on some lettuce first, just a little bit.
04:16 We don't want to overcrowd it, like that,
04:19 and then some tomatoes and some cilantro.
04:24 It looks amazing.
04:25 So you can be in charge of that, Tony.
04:26 So if you guys need the production ongoing,
04:28 so Lilly has the first one.
04:29 So you can get around and let just pull it back a bit
04:31 so you can reach it and you can start doing that.
04:34 Brilliant.
04:35 Now shook with your hand there, this probably gonna be
04:37 the hottest one, Lilly, so...
04:38 Okay. We'll turn the gas off.
04:40 So doesn't need to cook anymore.
04:44 I'll plop it on there and you can smooth it out.
04:48 So don't go with it, you kind of want have it there
04:50 all nice and natural.
04:51 Okay. It doesn't need to be perfect.
04:53 And then you guys can reach over and see
04:55 if you can land on the other bits.
04:58 Here you go, it can be difficult.
05:01 As you can see we got some great flavors here...
05:06 great beans, isn't that a great color?
05:07 Whoa! Whoa!
05:09 I'm sorry, didn't burn you, did I?
05:11 Nope.
05:12 You guys can spread that out.
05:14 It's like twister.
05:16 Yeah. Yep, so.
05:17 With your arms.
05:18 Exactly, probably what's missing here, Tony,
05:20 you might find it easier to kind of jump,
05:22 come over here and do it from here
05:23 and you can reach over.
05:25 So try and mound it, so kind of you're going for height
05:27 and try and drop it on Locklyn
05:29 so it kind of lanes in a big kind of a clump.
05:32 Okay.
05:33 See now all this wonderful flavor here
05:35 that this is gonna taste really, really, delicious.
05:37 All these avocado, beans, tomato, cilantro, lime juice,
05:42 I mean, it's just gonna be
05:43 a flavor explosion in your mouth.
05:45 You're looking forward to eating it?
05:47 Yes! Yeah.
05:48 Very cool.
05:50 Excellent, so bit more there.
05:51 Looking good, I like it, good presentation.
05:53 So presentation is actually very important part of eating,
05:55 so take your time.
05:56 So we're layering stuff in clumps,
05:58 we're going for height.
05:59 So we kind of try to be tidy in the way we do it.
06:02 But still rusty at the same time
06:04 so it's never gonna look perfect
06:05 that we kind of finish it with the herbs
06:07 and the colors of the tomatoes on top.
06:09 It looks really, really, really, yummy
06:12 and really good to eat.
06:13 You guys are doing amazing. Thank you.
06:15 So what I'll do now, I'm gonna get a start on the smoothie.
06:17 Okay.
06:18 Actually, Lilly, now that you finished your stuff,
06:20 hope you can help me out. Okay.
06:21 Can you grab some fresh strawberries
06:23 from the refrigerator?
06:24 Yes. Oops, I'm sorry.
06:25 One of the best ones you got in there.
06:27 And we're gonna make a fresh fruit smoothie
06:28 full of just fruit.
06:29 So that will make things really, really, yummy.
06:32 Great.
06:33 So you got some of those, you found some strawberries,
06:35 if you can grab some oranges
06:36 from the fruit bowl in the front.
06:38 How many should I grab?
06:39 Two oranges. Okay.
06:42 I might just grab a fresh chopping board here
06:44 'cause the other chopping boards are getting
06:46 very, very, dirty with other stuff,
06:50 so I hope you can see this.
06:51 So just chop up this.
06:52 If you can get over the strawberries,
06:54 if you can just pop them in the blender,
06:56 but just rip off the stalk.
06:58 Okay.
06:59 So a little bit of stalk in there is fine
07:00 but just get most of it off.
07:02 I'm running out of knives here.
07:04 Have to clean this one, excuse me.
07:07 How's it going here? Looking great.
07:08 Yeah.
07:10 So I'm just gonna chop these oranges up
07:12 and the oranges will be a really,
07:14 will basically become orange juice.
07:16 So pulpy oranges, so we're not gonna add
07:18 any milk or anything to the smoothie.
07:19 It's just gonna be a 100% fruit.
07:23 Locklyn, can you go in the freezer
07:25 and there should be some frozen cherries
07:26 in there as well.
07:28 So it's really nice, and some frozen bananas actually.
07:30 Okay. Should I use that all of these?
07:33 Probably half of them,
07:34 you probably want to tens them all up.
07:35 Okay.
07:37 Ten big strawberries, two oranges and...
07:38 Look at this, guys, you've done amazing.
07:40 It's looking beautiful.
07:42 Looks very colorful.
07:43 So look at there, we got these lovely pieces.
07:46 Here we go just divide them out
07:48 so they're kind of evenly spaced.
07:50 What I'll do, Tony,
07:52 is I will basically finish with the...
07:53 You kind of want to finish with tomato on top there,
07:57 and the final bit is the cilantro.
07:59 How many cherries?
08:00 Yeah, you want to put in probably about
08:02 quarter of that bag into the blender.
08:03 Okay.
08:05 And we'll finish with the final thing
08:06 is the herbs on top.
08:08 Looking delicious.
08:09 So there it goes, some lovely taco pizzas.
08:12 So the pizza is normally very unhealthy food,
08:14 but, you know, we've got lots of really yummy,
08:16 healthy ingredients here.
08:18 And also to finish, there's another garnishing tip.
08:20 When it's finished, you kind of
08:21 want to garnish the board as well.
08:22 So you can actually put stuff around like that
08:25 and like to look pretty as well,
08:27 so not just the food,
08:28 make sure the things you're doing on, so...
08:30 That's looking great.
08:32 Take some cherries and there should be some bananas
08:33 on top of the freezer.
08:35 Okay.
08:36 So we've frozen some bananas and frozen bananas
08:38 add a really nice creaminess to smoothie
08:39 so that's what we've done here.
08:41 So we're gonna get ready to blend this up
08:43 very, very shortly.
08:45 Lovely, so with, you get some bananas
08:47 especially the ripe ones.
08:50 Oh, wow.
08:51 So put them in the freezer like that
08:53 and they'll probably last in there
08:54 probably a month and just...
08:55 See they're really...
08:58 Normally ours only last a couple of weeks.
09:00 Oh, do they? Okay. I mean days.
09:02 Oh, days, yeah.
09:03 They start to get brown, don't they?
09:04 Yeah.
09:06 Frozen bananas make a really lovely smoothie
09:09 kind of a texture, so we put in about
09:11 two small bananas in there.
09:13 And let's go blend.
09:15 Put the lid on, Lilly, and push the go...
09:16 Oop, other way.
09:19 Push the blend, push the high button.
09:21 High. Yep.
09:23 Let's go, let it blend away.
09:27 We'll get there shortly.
09:28 With oranges and lemons,
09:30 they need a little bit of tap out.
09:34 Let's give it a bit of a press down,
09:35 so you want the oranges
09:36 at the bottom to turn into juice.
09:38 Orange juice to start with.
09:40 Here we go.
09:42 Throw that. Throw it away.
09:44 Hundred percent fruit smoothie, they eventually will get
09:47 in the blender really, really well.
09:52 Yep, we're doing well.
09:54 Look at that.
09:56 You button off right here.
10:06 There you go, it's nearly come out.
10:12 Make sure we're done.
10:14 And take it off and we'll just pour it
10:15 into these glasses and our meal is done.
10:18 Wow. Yummy.
10:19 And then it's a very nice fruit smoothie
10:21 and in the oven our roasties would be ready,
10:23 what we need to do is put them on the plate
10:24 and we're ready to eat.
