Thank you for tuning in. 00:22 Once again we're honored to be able to present to you 00:25 artists who are focused on lifting up the name of Jesus 00:28 through their gifts and on this program 00:30 it is by way of the gift of music. 00:32 That's right, Duawne. 00:34 And the focus is never on the gift. 00:36 The focus is on the gift giver. 00:39 The songs you'll hear 00:40 will truly lift up the name of Jesus. 00:42 So stay tune. 00:44 There's a special blessing in store, 00:46 so come magnify the Lord with us. 00:49 Magnify the Lord with me 00:52 Magnify Him 00:58 You have no idea how excited I am 01:00 to introduce someone who is like family to me. 01:03 So I'm gonna have to try to be objective 01:05 when I talk to my friend Margaret Richardson. 01:08 Marge, welcome to Magnify Him. 01:11 Thank you so much. 01:12 We're so happy that you are here 01:14 and you're such a blessing. 01:17 Good to be here. 01:18 Tell us how 'cause for our viewers 01:20 who might not have met you before, 01:21 tell us how you began singing? 01:24 Well, I come from a musical family. 01:27 I'm number six, born to Etalon and Margaret Humphrey. 01:30 And my mom being a pianist, cellist herself, 01:35 more or less trained us to sing in formal way. 01:39 We sang as a family group. 01:41 And my earliest recollections were 01:44 standing on the stage in front of 5,000 people 01:47 at age four or five and singing in public 01:51 with her as my pianist, and it was a wonderful thing. 01:54 Wow! 01:56 So since then have you-- had been at ease when you sing, 02:00 are you nervous when you sing like because to stand at four 02:04 before 5,000 people is incredible. 02:08 I mean, where do you go from there. 02:11 Well, I have sung in front of 20,000; 30,000. 02:16 It's been quite a ministry 02:18 just knowing that the Lord has given me my voice 02:21 and to be able to use it from Him, 02:23 I've always said as long as He keeps giving me breathe, 02:26 I will use it for Him. 02:27 Yes. Yes. And what an anointed voice you have. 02:31 You know, I've known your family 02:33 since we were children 02:35 and you and my sister were best friends 02:37 and your sister and I are close to an age 02:40 and so we've always known each other, 02:43 and one of the things 02:45 that I love about you, Marge, is your sprit. 02:48 You have this anointing, this voice as instrument, 02:51 Beanie too, your sister Edwina your sister as well. 02:55 I know lots of history here. 02:58 And you just have this humility about you 03:01 that you know that God's given you this instrument. 03:04 How do you keep humble 03:07 and this is not to really pump you up, 03:09 it's really to magnify Him. 03:11 How do you keep humble knowing that 03:14 He has blessed you with this instrument? 03:16 Well, I think because knowing the God that we serve. 03:20 He is awesome, He gives us the talents, 03:23 so we ought to give them right back to Him 03:25 or to use them for Him. 03:29 Assuredly as He has given them to us, 03:31 He could take them. 03:32 So as I use them for Him, I know He will replenish 03:36 and give me more talents. 03:38 There are lots of things that I do for Him. 03:40 And you know what? 03:42 It's obviously in your family 03:44 because your daughter is also an artist 03:46 on Magnify Him this season. 03:48 And how do you feel 03:50 when you watch your daughter minister? 03:53 It's an amazing thing. 03:54 I just feel like the Lord has been with us 03:58 all through my life and to watch as, 04:02 you know my husband and I, 04:03 we've been married 30 years now. 04:04 And to see our children grow 04:07 and use their talents for the Lord, 04:08 it's just is an answer to prayer. 04:10 It's an answer to prayer knowing that 04:12 their focus is also to do His will 04:15 and to have a ministry. It's an interesting thing. 04:18 My sons who are twins, they have chosen to do things 04:23 in ministry on their own when they were little. 04:27 The youngest twin chose to learn Chinese 04:30 because he plans to go to China to be a missionary. 04:33 The other son who is-- 04:35 he is a ministerial student at Oakwood University. 04:37 He learned Hebrew on his own and learned Hindi 04:41 because he plans to go to India, 04:43 and they learned, they did this on their own. 04:45 You have slouchy kids today. 04:47 My goodness. My so. Welcome. 14:28 You know, I would like to start off with, 14:30 I would say the Matriarch of the family. 14:34 You know, because we look at your children here, 14:37 they are poised, 14:40 I can see their relationship with you. 14:44 And I would like to know how did you nurture them 14:47 as they were growing up? 14:50 Well, one thing I-- As God is love. 14:53 Love was the emphasis of raising my children 14:56 in everything they did, even while they were little. 14:59 I encouraged them to love one another 15:01 as opposed to fighting or things like that, 15:04 that was just unheard of in my house. 15:06 But love among the family, 15:09 I helped them to be the way they are. 15:11 So you didn't have regular sibling fights. 15:14 No. No. 15:15 And brothers, 15:17 all of them together never fought, 15:19 they always loved and talk to each other 15:21 and you know, everything could be worked out 15:23 with the conversation. Right. 15:25 I mean we had our disagreements but... 15:27 Never fight. Yeah, never, never that. 15:30 And not just brothers but brothers that are twins. 15:32 That's right. 15:33 Who is the older? I am. 15:35 Are you the wiser? 15:38 Well, we like to come to the conclusion 15:40 that I know certain things that he doesn't know 15:43 and he knows certain things that I don't know 15:45 so we call it even. 15:47 That's a good compromise. That was a good answer. 15:50 I love that. 15:52 So being the only girl, 15:53 are you also like a second mother 15:55 to your brothers? 15:57 Yeah, I guess mom called me mommy's little helper 16:00 when I was little and... Now she is mommy number two. 16:03 Oh, mercy. Well, normally they hold it together, 16:07 I mean we were at Oakwood together. 16:08 We were all in school. 16:10 And I had to learn to turn that off 16:12 'cause they're grown men now. 16:13 You know, they take care of themselves 16:15 and they remind me on a regular basis. 16:18 That they can handle themselves 16:20 but we'll look out for each other so. 16:22 So career wise, are you still in school now? 16:24 Yes, we are. Okay 16:26 What do you study in Oakwood? 16:28 As of- for me as of right now 16:30 I'm undecided but I plan to go into geography. 16:34 Oh, excellent. 16:35 Geography.
