00:31 Today, I want to pray for more compassion.
00:35 I don't know about you,
00:36 but I love it when the people around me
00:38 extend compassion toward me,
00:40 when they overlook my faults,
00:42 when they extend grace and kindness,
00:45 when maybe I don't deserve that.
00:47 When they come alongside me, when I need someone the most.
00:51 And yet, sometimes in my own experience,
00:53 I find that I might not extend that same compassion
00:56 towards someone else
00:57 that I might react with judgment instead of love.
01:01 And even in my own walk with God some mornings,
01:04 when I pray to Him, I feel as if maybe
01:06 He's looking at me with condemnation,
01:09 instead of compassion.
01:10 On those days, I'm reminded of Lamentations 3.
01:16 Lamentations 3:22-26.
01:19 The Word of God says,
01:21 "Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed,
01:24 because His compassions, they fail not.
01:26 They are new every morning, great is Your faithfulness.
01:30 The Lord is my portion, says my soul,
01:32 therefore I hope in Him!
01:34 The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
01:37 to the soul who seeks Him.
01:39 It is good that one should hope and wait quietly
01:42 for the salvation of the Lord."
01:44 Don't you love those verses?
01:46 Don't you love the, the imagery of God's compassion
01:49 and faithfulness,
01:50 not just once a week or once a year,
01:54 but every day.
01:56 Every day when I need it most.
02:08 Let your heart be broken
02:13 For a world in need
02:17 Feed the mouths that hunger
02:21 Soothe the wounds that bleed
02:26 Give the cup of water
02:30 And the loaf of bread
02:33 Be the hands of Jesus, serving
02:38 In His stead
02:44 Here on earth applying
02:48 Principles of love
02:52 Visible expression, God
02:56 Still rules above
03:00 Living illustration
03:03 Of the Living Word
03:07 To the minds of all
03:10 Who've never seen
03:14 Or heard
03:20 Dear Father, our world is full of suffering
03:23 in distress and disease.
03:25 And we're in constant and deep need
03:28 of Christ-like sympathy
03:29 that will awaken the hearts of the people around us.
03:33 Jesus, it was love
03:35 that brought You to this earth from heaven.
03:37 And when You looked upon the sick ones
03:39 who followed You,
03:41 I know Your great heart was moved with compassion
03:43 for their physical and their spiritual needs.
03:46 Yours is the same compassion
03:48 that our heavenly Father has for us.
03:51 Your tenderness and Your sympathy
03:53 have touched and changed millions of lives.
03:57 And today I just ask that You will fill us
03:59 with Your compassion for our friends,
04:02 for our neighbors, our acquaintances,
04:04 even with strangers that don't even know you yet.
04:08 Please open our eyes to those who have such desperate needs.
04:12 Lord, what can we do for you today?
04:19 Lord, You are so gracious.
04:22 Thank You for all that You do for me.
04:25 You have blessed me,
04:26 even though I don't deserve Your blessings.
04:29 You tell me in Your Word
04:31 that we are to have compassion on those less fortunate.
04:35 Yet too many times
04:36 I become more wrapped up in my own life and problems
04:40 that I tend to forget
04:42 or in blinded to the needs of others around me.
04:46 Lord, forgive me
04:48 and open my eyes to see others in need.
04:52 Give me ears to hear their pleas for help
04:56 and open my heart
04:57 to be interested in their troubles.
05:00 Teach me to slow down and take the time
05:02 to reach out to those who need me.
05:05 Break my selfish heart.
05:08 And let me show compassion for others
05:11 like You did when you walked this earth
05:14 in Jesus' name, Amen.
05:22 Heavenly Father, we are thankful
05:23 that You are a God of love and compassion.
05:26 You sent Your only begotten Son into this world
05:28 to save sinners.
05:30 Your word in Lamentations 3:21-26
05:33 tells us this.
05:35 "This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
05:40 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed,
05:43 because His compassions fail not.
05:46 They are new every morning, great is Your faithfulness.
05:50 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul,
05:53 therefore I hope in Him!
05:56 The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him,
05:59 to the soul that seeketh Him.
06:01 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait
06:04 for the salvation of the Lord."
06:07 Thank You, Jesus, for being our rock,
06:08 refuge and redeemer
06:18 Blessed to be a blessing
06:22 Privileged to care
06:25 Challenged by the need apparent everywhere
06:32 Where mankind is wanting
06:35 Fill the vacant place
06:39 Be the means through which
06:41 The Lord reveals
06:44 His grace
06:49 Add to your believing deeds
06:53 That prove it true
06:56 Knowing Christ as Savior
07:00 Make Him Master, too
07:03 Follow in His footsteps
07:07 Go where He has trod In the world's great trouble
07:14 Risk yourself
07:17 For God
07:24 Dear Father, thank You for being
07:26 such a loving and gracious God.
07:29 Lord, I ask that You would be with all those
07:32 who are struggling right now.
07:34 I know there's a lot of people who have lost their jobs.
07:38 There's uncertainty about
07:40 when they're going to get their next paycheck.
07:42 And so many people with sick loved ones.
07:46 Lord, You told us to treat others the way
07:49 we want to be treated.
07:51 So help us to show compassion.
07:54 Even though a lot of us are being affected as well,
07:58 give us patience and soften our hearts
08:01 to show them Your unconditional love.
08:04 And it's in Jesus' name that I pray.
08:07 Amen
08:13 Lord, as You showed compassion for us,
08:17 may the Holy Spirit overflow
08:19 the same compassion to others from us.
08:22 As people are in their struggles,
08:24 give us a heart of flesh towards them
08:27 to take into consideration of their needs
08:30 and to give us compassion,
08:33 not only for Your people in need,
08:35 but for those who are angry about how the world is today,
08:38 as we get closer to the end of earth's history.
08:43 Lord, You have shown us
08:44 how to be compassionate
08:46 toward others and commanded us
08:48 to love your neighbors as yourself.
08:51 So, Lord, be with Your remnant church
08:53 in these final days,
08:55 as we show compassion to our brothers and sisters
08:58 in Jesus Christ's name, I pray.
09:00 Amen.
09:03 I love 2 Corinthians 1:3-4,
09:08 "Praise be to the God and Father
09:10 of our Lord Jesus Christ,
09:11 the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort
09:16 who comforts us in all of our troubles,
09:19 so that we can comfort those in any trouble
09:22 with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."
09:25 Father, I thank You for being the Father of compassion,
09:31 the God of all comfort.
09:35 What awesome attributes
09:37 that I want to portray in my life,
09:40 showing compassion and comfort to others.
09:45 Thank You for setting the example.
09:49 Lord, I pray for the viewers
09:50 those who have called in asking prayer
09:54 for their family and their marriages.
09:58 This one says,
10:00 "My niece struggles with depression
10:02 and it's taking its toll on her and her two year old daughter
10:06 in whom I sense a dark spirit.
10:10 The father is out of the picture.
10:14 And so I pray Lord that both
10:16 will desire to have Jesus in their hearts."
10:21 That same caller says, "Pray for my marriage.
10:27 And I struggle with my appetite.
10:30 Pray that we can have deliverance
10:32 from the troubles in our lives.
10:36 Oh, God, I think we can all
10:40 cry out to You for deliverance.
10:45 That thing that is standing
10:46 between a closer relationship with You.
10:51 Destructive habits that we have
10:53 that are part of our human nature,
10:56 God, I ask in Jesus' name that Your supernatural
11:00 would overpower our natural.
11:06 Beyond just giving us the desire and the want to,
11:12 Lord, I pray that You will truly do a work in us
11:16 that we will know that it was of You, oh, God.
11:19 It had to be You.
11:20 It had to be the hand of the Lord
11:22 that moved upon our situation.
11:25 Was nothing that we could do.
11:30 I pray for one who is,
11:33 who has a son
11:35 who has found himself in a terrible drug situation.
11:39 And, Lord, we pray that he will be cut
11:41 from this cord of the wicked
11:43 and be set free to choose to follow You.
11:47 Lord, for those who are watching,
11:49 who are facing
11:52 addiction to drugs
11:57 or whatever addiction that they're in.
12:01 Lord, I believe that You have given us the victory.
12:07 I just ask that You will strengthen
12:09 our willpower
12:13 to resist temptation,
12:16 to flee from evil,
12:18 to flee from, again, our destructive habits.
12:28 There's one who asks for healing that says,
12:31 "Please pray for a young adult of our church family
12:34 suffering from brain damage.
12:37 Doctors are asking her mother to make a decision,
12:41 whether to keep her on life support or not."
12:47 Lord, we pray for Your will to be done.
12:55 God, we read of the instances of healing
13:00 that You performed in Your Word.
13:04 God, we pray for miracles
13:05 to happen in the lives of our viewers
13:08 who are in great need,
13:09 desperate need for a touch from You.
13:18 We can be moved to tears in our hearts broken
13:22 by situations that we can't understand,
13:26 but that's only the beginning of a compassionate heart.
13:30 Doing something, taking action, helping meet a need,
13:35 put hands and feet to your compassion today.
13:38 Follow the Spirit's lead
13:40 and risk yourself to be used by God.
13:45 Thank you for taking time today to pause and pray.
