00:32 tells how Jesus had been teaching the people 00:34 by the sea of Galilee all day, 00:37 and now is in need of some quiet time. 00:39 Jesus dismisses the multitude 00:41 and instructs His disciples to take their boat 00:44 to the other side of the lake. 00:46 As Jesus goes away to pray night falls. 00:49 Meanwhile in the lake, 00:50 contrary wind 00:51 and threatening waves have stirred, 00:53 and the disciples' boat is in danger of sinking. 00:57 And about three in the morning, 00:58 Jesus comes toward them walking on the water. 01:01 The disciples in terror 01:03 believe that they're seeing a ghost. 01:05 "Take courage," says Jesus, "I'm here." 01:09 On another day Jesus enters a ship 01:11 and His disciples follows, 01:12 Jesus hungry and weary 01:14 and at last relieved from the pressing crowd, 01:17 falls asleep. 01:18 Once again, a fierce storm strikes the lake 01:20 and waves break into the boat. 01:23 With the hungry waters 01:24 threatening to swallow them 01:26 the disciples' streak, 01:27 "Lord, save us, we're going to drown!" 01:30 Jesus responds, 01:31 "Why are you afraid? 01:33 You have so little faith." 01:37 In the year 1912, 01:38 James Rowe wrote the hymn Love Lifted Me, 01:43 based on these two biblical stories 01:45 from the Book of Matthew. 01:46 He uses sinking in the sea to illustrate 01:50 how you and I are sinking deep in sin, 01:53 sinking to rise no more. 01:55 But the Master of the sea 01:57 Jesus hears our despairing cry for help. 02:00 And because of His love and by His saving grace, 02:04 He reaches to the depths of our sin, 02:06 and grants us His eternal rescue. 02:09 Surely you know someone who is in need of such rescue, 02:13 such salvation. 02:15 I say, let's pray for them today. 02:23 Lord, all my heart I give to You. 02:26 May I live in Your blessed presence forever 02:29 singing Your praises, 02:31 save me completely by Your grace 02:34 from the danger of sin, 02:36 often remind me to look to my Heavenly Father above 02:40 and in response, 02:41 return faithful, loving service. 02:44 In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. 02:50 For the wages of sin is death, 02:52 but the gift of God is eternal life 02:54 through Christ Jesus, our Lord. 02:57 God, is it really that simple, 02:58 that we can reach out 03:00 and have that gift of eternal life? 03:03 I know it wasn't simple for You, 03:05 You gave Your only begotten Son Jesus, 03:09 to die on a cross 03:10 so that we would have the gift of eternal life. 03:13 Thank You for that sacrifice. 03:16 I'm so grateful today, 03:18 that the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. 03:22 Thankful that if we confess our sins, 03:24 You are faithful and just to forgive us, 03:27 and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 03:30 Grateful that if we confess with our mouth, 03:32 Lord Jesus, I believe with our heart, 03:36 that God has risen Him from the dead, 03:38 that we will be saved. 03:41 Oh, we are grateful for assurance in You, 03:44 grateful that we have hope of eternal life. 03:48 Thanks be to God for this unspeakable gift. 03:54 Our loving Heavenly Father, 03:57 thank You for Your great and marvelous salvation. 04:01 Thank You that salvation is available 04:04 to anyone in the world, 04:05 the worst of sinners. 04:07 Thank You because of Your grace and Your love. 04:10 And thank You because salvation is possible 04:14 because of the great sacrifice 04:16 that Jesus Christ made on the cross. 04:20 In Jesus' name, amen. 04:26 I was praise You. 06:27 And we ask You for those 06:29 who don't know about You, 06:31 who don't know about this wonderful plan of salvation 06:35 that you've made for us, 06:37 that we will be conduits, 06:38 that we will be able to share 06:40 Your plan with others, 06:42 so that they will know You for themselves, 06:45 and that they will know the beautiful gospel, 06:48 the good news of Jesus Christ. 06:51 We thank You, Lord God, 06:53 that You made this plan of salvation for us, 06:56 this way of escape from this world into eternity, 07:01 into a world 07:02 where there'll be peace and joy, 07:04 no more sorrow, no more sickness, 07:06 no more death, 07:08 just peace and joy. 07:09 We thank You, Lord, 07:11 because without You, 07:13 and without this plan of salvation, 07:15 it could never happen. 07:18 So we thank You, we praise You, 07:20 and we look forward to that time 07:23 we can all be together with You in glory forever. 07:28 Thank You for Your plan of salvation. 07:31 In Jesus' name, amen. 07:36 Lord, I thank You for Psalms 118:14, 07:40 I thank You that you are my strength and song, 07:45 and that you have become my salvation. 07:49 In Jesus' name, amen. When nothing else 09:21 Could help 09:24 Love lifted me 09:35 I love Ephesians 2:8-9, 09:39 "For by grace you have been saved through faith 09:43 and that not of yourselves, 09:45 it is the gift of God, not of works, 09:50 lest anyone should boast." 09:54 So the weight is off of me and you. 09:58 We can't work for our salvation. 10:01 It's totally by the grace of God, 10:04 such love that He would give us such amazing grace. 10:10 2 Corinthians 5:21, 10:13 "For He made Him who knew knows sin 10:16 to be sin for us, 10:17 that we might become 10:19 the righteousness of God in Him." 10:22 God, thank You for such a plan, 10:27 this plan of salvation, 10:29 that You would give Your Son 10:33 who had no idea 10:35 of what sin felt like 10:43 until He came into this world 10:45 and took upon our shame and our guilt and our sin. 10:50 He took it as His own. 10:55 And He died for that, 10:57 died for our sin, for my sin 11:01 so that I could spend eternity with a holy God. 11:06 Thank you, Lord. 11:09 Acts 16:31-30 says, 11:14 "'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' 11:17 They said, 11:19 'Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, 11:21 and you will be saved, you and your household.'" 11:25 That's still what it takes today. 11:28 Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, 11:31 then you will be saved. 11:33 Acts 4:12, 11:37 "Neither is there salvation in any other name, 11:40 for there is no other name under heaven given among men, 11:44 whereby we must be saved." 11:50 If anyone has told you that you can be saved 11:54 any other way. 11:58 The Bible strictly tells us 12:01 that is only through the name of Jesus Christ, 12:05 that we can be saved. 12:08 Father, I ask that You would open eyes 12:11 that they would see 12:13 the very purpose for our existence. 12:18 Our very importance 12:21 is to give our lives to You 12:24 so that we can spend eternity with You. 12:31 Thank You for the free gift of salvation. 12:35 Thank You that by believing in Your name, 12:36 we are forgiven of our sin 12:39 and brought into sweet fellowship 12:44 with a precious Heavenly Father. 12:49 All you have to do is 12:50 say, Lord, I turn from all my prideful sin 12:54 and from everything 12:55 that is dishonoring to Your name. 12:58 And pray that I would grow in grace 13:00 and in the knowledge of Jesus. 13:04 Come to spiritual maturity as day by day 13:08 I allow the Holy Spirit to work in my life. 13:13 I surrender my life to You, oh God. 13:17 And if you say that prayer, or anything like it, 13:20 surrendering your life to Him, 13:23 confessing your sin, 13:25 believing that He is the Son of God. 13:29 Then go tell somebody 13:32 and go lead someone else to Christ. 13:35 Tell them how 13:36 it was Jesus' love that lifted you 13:39 and your chains are gone. 13:42 You're set free
