00:24 Hello, and welcome once again to Pillars of our Faith.
00:27 We got a brand new series for you
00:29 and we are excited for the word of God,
00:31 what shall we preach today.
00:33 This is Pillars of our Faith,
00:35 a word for today in today's world,
00:38 and our speaker is Pastor John Dinzey,
00:41 who is the general manager of 3ABN Latino channel.
00:47 John has been here, we were just talking backstage,
00:49 for 27 years, he's been at 3ABN,
00:53 and done a very, very fine job.
00:54 He was the, dare I say if not thee,
00:57 certainly one of the leading and moving forces
01:00 in getting the Latino channel established.
01:04 It is growing and has been growing
01:06 over the past several years by leaps and bounds.
01:09 Excuse me.
01:10 And God has blessed it so very, very much
01:13 wherever we go, when I travel with my wife Irma
01:16 in the Caribbean Latino countries,
01:18 we see the fruit of the labor of the small,
01:22 but power packed Latino department.
01:25 John is ably assisted by his wife, Idalia.
01:28 And there's not a lot of people in that department
01:32 but God gets maximum effort and maximum results
01:36 from a relatively small amount of individuals
01:40 who are dedicated to the Lord,
01:41 and we see the fruit of their labors
01:43 and the growth of the Latino channel,
01:45 perhaps Johnny will mention,
01:47 how many cable stations around the globe
01:50 that 3ABN Latino is present on.
01:53 And so we're very, very pleased,
01:55 John is a student of the word,
01:57 a preacher and teacher of the word,
01:59 has a good handle on the word of God,
02:01 is a pleasant person to work with,
02:04 sometimes I go into his office and sit and talk,
02:06 or he comes to my office and we sit and talk,
02:08 and we have a good rapport together.
02:10 I call him El Jefe which means the chief,
02:15 and he affectionately calls me Distinguido
02:17 which means distinguished one,
02:19 so we don't even use names anymore,
02:20 we just call each other by these titles,
02:22 and we enjoy our times together.
02:24 But John is good speaker of the word,
02:27 and a good student of the word and we expect a informative,
02:30 inspirational message from him and we're looking forward
02:35 to the title of his sermon today,
02:37 which is the First Angel's Message part 1.
02:42 John's subject for these five presentations
02:45 will be the Three Angels' Messages,
02:48 and so the first two will deal specifically
02:50 with the First Angel's Message.
02:54 This message part 1, the next message part 2.
02:57 There is so much to be learned as we look at
02:59 and study the messages of the three angels,
03:02 and so we are please to invite Pastor John Dinzey
03:07 to the sacred desk to speak a word for the Lord.
03:09 I'm going to pray now and then we will ask the man of God
03:13 to come forward and to do what God has called him to do,
03:17 and that's preach with power.
03:18 Shall we pray, Father God,
03:21 we do praise you and thank you for your love for us
03:25 and for your goodness to us.
03:27 We thank you for the power of the word,
03:29 and we thank you for those who've dedicated time
03:32 and talent to the study of that word
03:34 that they may preach the word with power and authority.
03:38 Bless now your man servant.
03:41 Speak to him so that he will speak to us.
03:45 Bless him so that he will be a blessing to us.
03:48 And may Christ be seen and glorified
03:52 in all that happens in this place on this day
03:56 and we thank you dear Father in Jesus name, amen, and Amen.
04:02 And now, John Dinzey.
04:07 Thank you Pastor CA, I appreciate your kind words.
04:10 And yes, we are going to be studying God's words together,
04:15 a very important series, a very important topic.
04:19 One I believe that every individual
04:22 should be acquainted with,
04:24 for it talks about these last days
04:26 in which we live in.
04:28 And it helps us understand
04:30 that we are approaching the time
04:33 when our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
04:36 will come in the clouds of heaven.
04:38 And we are very grateful for the word of God
04:41 that we have the liberty to read
04:43 and study and share with others in this country,
04:47 and it is the same in many countries around the world.
04:49 Really I believe the Lord is opening up the possibility
04:53 of preaching the gospel in the whole world.
04:56 Doors are opening all over the world, and yes,
05:00 3ABN Latino is one instrument in the hands of the Lord,
05:04 that is reaching millions of people for Jesus Christ.
05:07 We are on over 1100 cable companies
05:11 with 3ABN Latino alone, we're not counting 3ABN,
05:15 our flagship network, our parent network,
05:18 and we just praise the Lord for what God is doing
05:21 through Three Angels Broadcasting Network.
05:24 And this network is entitled, the title of the network
05:29 is Three Angels Broadcasting Network,
05:30 and yes, we will be studying the Three Angels' Messages
05:34 during these five topics,
05:35 I must say here in the beginning
05:38 that our five topics is not enough
05:41 to really cover these Three Angels' Messages,
05:46 we would need many, many more.
05:48 I might think I've seen one pastor spent 25 hours
05:53 talking about the Three Angels' Messages.
05:55 We have the limit of five sermons to deal with,
05:58 and so we're asking for the Lord to bless us.
06:01 I encourage you to pray for, for me.
06:03 And speaking of prayer,
06:05 I know that Pastor CA already prayed,
06:07 but before I go to the Lord to present his word,
06:12 before we go to present his word,
06:13 I like to go to the Lord again in prayer.
06:16 And I would like to, I'm going to kneel
06:19 and I'm gonna ask of course that you will also pray for me.
06:26 So let us go to the Lord in prayer at this moment.
06:32 Our loving heavenly Father,
06:35 we are grateful to you Lord for your goodness and mercy.
06:39 We thank you for the holy scriptures
06:41 that are able to make us wise unto salvation.
06:44 Lord, your time has come
06:46 to speak to your children once again.
06:48 And I place myself in your hands,
06:52 so that you'll speak.
06:53 We ask that every word will come directly
06:56 from your throne of grace.
06:58 Speak to your children for you only know
07:00 what they need to hear.
07:01 We ask you Father in Jesus' holy
07:04 and blessed name, amen.
07:09 As we look into Revelation 14,
07:13 we see that there are three angels
07:16 mentioned beginning in verse 6.
07:19 Revelation 14:6-12,
07:23 really through the end of chapter 14
07:26 brings us the Three Angels' Messages.
07:30 And so as you look at Revelation 14,
07:33 you'll notice that it's really a new group of angels,
07:36 because angels have been mentioned prior
07:39 to Revelation 14:6,
07:41 this is why when we look at verse 6,
07:44 it begins with the word I saw another angel.
07:47 However when you continue reading in Revelation 14,
07:51 you'll notice that it mentions in Revelation 14:9,
07:56 and it says, and the third angel.
07:59 In other words,
08:00 these three angels are a series of angels
08:03 that have a message for the world in the end time.
08:08 And it's really these three angels
08:09 are linked together in the message
08:12 and they compliment one another as it were,
08:16 and it is a continuing message for the people in the end time.
08:21 So I would like to encourage you
08:23 to open up the Holy Scriptures
08:25 and those of you joining us in different places
08:27 might open your phone application
08:30 to a Bible or tablet.
08:32 And so let's go to Revelation 14:6,
08:36 and begin our message for today.
08:39 In Revelation 14:6, we have the following words.
08:45 "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven,
08:51 having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them
08:54 that dwell on the earth,
08:56 and to every nation, and kindred,
09:00 and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice,
09:04 Fear God, and give glory to him,
09:08 for the hour of his judgment is come and worship him
09:12 that made heaven, and earth, and the sea,
09:16 and the fountains of waters."
09:19 Here in Revelation 14:6 and 7,
09:24 we have the first angel's message.
09:27 Let's look at this first angel's message
09:30 so that we can understand it a little more.
09:32 Again I say that even this first angel's message
09:35 will take at least 10 sermons to really understand it.
09:39 However we're going to, by God's grace
09:43 cover it in two messages.
09:45 So let's look at this message
09:46 and go back to the beginning of the message.
09:49 It says, I saw another angel,
09:53 so John the apostle is said to have seen an angel,
09:59 in other words the act that he sees the angel
10:02 is something that the world needs to take notice of.
10:07 However this angel is very interesting
10:11 because he has the everlasting gospel to preach.
10:17 Now notice that the word angel here
10:20 is a Greek word angelos which means angel
10:26 for the most part it is used as angel in the Bible,
10:29 in the New Testament.
10:31 But this word angel, the Greek word angelos
10:36 is also used for the word messenger.
10:41 For this reason, I would like to invite you
10:44 to look at least one example of how this Greek word is used.
10:49 And I invite you to turn in your Bibles to Luke 7,
10:53 and we're going to look at verses 27 and 28 for context.
10:57 Luke 7:27 and 28, notice the words of the Lord.
11:03 This is he, this was Jesus speaking,
11:05 "This is he, of whom it is written,
11:08 Behold, I send my messenger before thy face,
11:13 which shall prepare thy way before thee."
11:18 Right here in verse 27
11:19 the word messenger is the same Greek word
11:21 used in Revelation 14:6,
11:25 "I send my messenger, it would be,
11:27 I send my angel before thy face,
11:29 which shall prepare thy way before thee.
11:31 For I say unto you,
11:33 among those that are born of women
11:35 there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist
11:39 but he that is least in the kingdom of God
11:42 is greater than he."
11:44 So what is that, that we have here,
11:45 what we have here is that John the Baptist was called
11:51 the messenger of the Lord,
11:53 and as he is called the messenger of the Lord,
11:55 the same Greek word angelos is used,
11:58 that means he is a messenger of the Lord,
12:00 and here you know it is talking about John.
12:04 When the translators are looking in at the Greek words,
12:07 they say this, this says messenger.
12:10 We cannot put the word 'angel' here
12:12 because it's talking about John the Baptist,
12:14 therefore they put the word messenger incorrectly so.
12:18 But when we go to Revelation 14:6
12:22 and we look at the fact that it uses an angel,
12:26 helps us to understand that it's a heavenly message,
12:30 it's a message from heaven of...
12:33 the origin is heaven, the origin is God's throne,
12:36 and this angel that has the message,
12:39 has the everlasting gospel to preach to the world,
12:43 a very important message,
12:44 because that message is supposed to go to every nation,
12:47 kindred, and tongue, and people.
12:51 So at this stage we ask the following question
12:55 who is this angel, who is this messenger?
13:01 I say to you that if the message of the,
13:07 or the task of preaching the gospel
13:09 was committed to angels or to an angel,
13:12 that job would have been done a long time ago,
13:17 therefore we need to understand
13:20 that even though it is represented as an angel
13:23 flying in the midst of heaven,
13:25 this is a symbol used to represent God's people
13:29 that are going to take the everlasting gospel
13:31 to the world.
13:33 It is not a literal angel that is going to do this,
13:36 it is God's children, God's people.
13:39 The task has been committed to God's children
13:42 to preach the gospel to the world.
13:45 And it is supposed to be preached to every kindred,
13:49 tongue, and people.
13:51 No one is to be excluded.
13:53 Every nation is included, every language is included,
13:56 the everlasting gospel has to go to all the world.
13:59 Why is this?
14:00 Because God so loved the world
14:02 that He gave His only begotten Son
14:05 that whosoever believes in Him should not perish,
14:08 but have everlasting life.
14:12 Therefore this is a message
14:13 that needs to go to the whole world.
14:16 However, as you look at Revelation 14:6 and 7,
14:20 you will notice that it is like a preparation
14:23 for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
14:25 This angel,
14:27 the actual fact of preaching the gospel to all the world
14:29 is linked to the second coming of Jesus Christ.
14:33 How is it that we know that?
14:35 We will see that in a moment,
14:37 but first let's look at the fact
14:39 that the preaching of the gospel
14:40 has been committed to human beings
14:43 and not to angels.
14:45 Angels aid human beings in the process,
14:48 however it has been committed to you and to me
14:51 to preach the gospel.
14:52 I invite you to look in your Bible to Matthew 28.
14:58 In Matthew 28, we're going to look at verses,
15:03 actually verses 18-20.
15:05 Verses 18-20.
15:07 Matthew 28:18-20,
15:10 let us begin reading God's word at verse 18,
15:14 "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying,
15:18 All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
15:23 Go ye therefore, for this reason
15:25 because he has all power,
15:27 go ye therefore and teach all nations,
15:31 baptizing them in the name of the Father,
15:34 and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost,
15:37 teaching them to observe all things
15:40 whatsoever I have commanded you and, lo, I am with you always
15:46 even unto the end of the world."
15:49 Before Jesus tells his disciples
15:52 to go and preach the gospel to every nation,
15:55 he assures them
15:57 that all power has been given to him in heaven,
16:00 and in earth and he says, go ye therefore
16:03 and preach the gospel to every nation.
16:06 The gospel is to be preached
16:08 and wherever you go to preach the gospel Jesus said,
16:12 I will be with you always
16:15 even until the end of the world.
16:17 So who, to whom has the task
16:21 of preaching the gospel been given to?
16:23 Non other than human beings that means you,
16:26 and that means I, and I tell you,
16:28 brothers and sisters,
16:30 and those listening wherever you are
16:32 that we need to get as they say on the ball
16:35 and get the job done.
16:37 It has been a long time
16:39 that this message needs to get to the whole world,
16:41 but the church seems to be asleep
16:47 instead of doing the task
16:49 that has been given to the church.
16:51 Yes, we see some people waking up
16:53 or there are wonderful reports of the gospel being preached
16:56 in different places,
16:57 but the people of God need to awaken
17:00 to preaching the gospel.
17:02 Literally when you look at the prophecies of Revelation,
17:05 you'll notice actually that this angel is said
17:08 to have a point in time,
17:10 there was a mighty movement of the preaching of the gospel
17:14 that began in the 1840s,
17:17 and I'm talking to you some people may understand this
17:20 as the Millerite movement or the Advent movement.
17:24 And prophetically or historically
17:28 it began in the 1840s to be preached,
17:30 but it's supposed to continue until Jesus Christ returns.
17:35 And so I say to you, like I said this is linked
17:40 to the second coming of Jesus Christ,
17:42 Hark Christ, how do we know this?
17:44 Let us go to Matthew 24:14.
17:49 Matthew 24:14, many people know by memory
17:52 and I will quote it by memory.
17:54 The Bible says, "And this gospel of the kingdom
17:59 should be preached in the whole world.
18:02 For a witness unto all nations, and then the end shall come.
18:09 And then the end shall come.
18:12 I have to say, I've been speaking Spanish
18:14 and only Spanish for the last six, seven days
18:17 and so I'm here trying to get back
18:19 in the gear of speaking English.
18:21 And so Matthew 24:14,
18:22 tells us that the preaching of the gospel
18:24 has to be go all over the world for witness unto all nations.
18:27 You see similar language in Revelation 14,
18:32 and so when this job is done, the second coming
18:36 of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ takes place.
18:39 So therefore, brothers and sisters,
18:41 we need to get the job done,
18:44 and I make a call right now from 3ABN to the whole world,
18:49 brother and sister,
18:50 get yourselves, put yourself in the hands of the Lord,
18:54 that he may use you to bring the gospel to those around you,
18:58 and to the whole world if necessary
19:00 and I might say to you, I say to you,
19:03 you don't have to get in front of a pulpit
19:05 to preach the gospel.
19:06 You can preach the gospel in different ways,
19:08 there are different things you can use.
19:10 Nowadays there are so many varieties of ways
19:13 of preaching the gospel.
19:15 In fact you can preach the gospel
19:17 without even leaving your home.
19:19 My wife for a period of time, she used to grab the phonebook,
19:23 this is not so easily done nowadays.
19:25 She used to grab the phonebook
19:27 and just pick a name out of the phonebook,
19:29 and my wife Idalia would say,
19:30 pray about it and would call the person and say,
19:34 you don't know me
19:35 and I just picked your name out of the phonebook,
19:37 but I'm calling just to ask you,
19:40 do you need prayer about something
19:42 or anything in particular.
19:44 And people were surprised
19:46 that someone would call them out of the blue
19:48 as you would say,
19:49 just to ask them if they need a prayer,
19:52 and many were very happy to hear that,
19:55 and Idalia prayed with them.
19:57 As a matter of fact there are messages
19:59 you can send to people.
20:00 Some people are using Facebook to preach the gospel,
20:02 Twitter and there are other systems
20:06 or other applications that they use.
20:08 I can't think of them all in this moment.
20:11 In other words, you can use the internet
20:12 to preach the gospel,
20:14 some people have open up a page on the internet,
20:17 so that people can go there and read the scriptures
20:20 or listen to messages or read messages,
20:23 and I say to you,
20:24 use whatever means is available to you
20:27 to bring the gospel to other people.
20:29 Some people pass our pamphlets,
20:31 some people pass our booklets, some people pass our books,
20:34 some people get on radio stations,
20:35 and today, it is easier than ever.
20:38 Before to get on radio was a big process,
20:40 you have to go to a radio station
20:43 and record there or do it live.
20:45 Nowadays in the comfort and privacy of your home,
20:49 you can record a radio program,
20:51 send that electronically
20:52 or take it to the radio station.
20:54 There are so many ways you can get the job done.
20:57 And I say to you pray for God's Holy Spirit
21:00 to use you to bring the gospel to others,
21:03 and another way to preach the gospel.
21:07 I'm not gonna mention every single one of them.
21:08 I don't know every single one of them,
21:10 and the Lord will bless you with ideas to get it done.
21:12 I know there are people in their homes,
21:14 you cannot walk, you cannot do much,
21:19 but if you can speak, you can record something,
21:23 if you can speak, you can call someone,
21:26 if you can speak, you can tell somebody
21:29 that would visit you or comes to your door,
21:31 tell them about Jesus Christ.
21:32 If you can write, you can write to someone
21:35 and bring the gospel to them.
21:37 So I say to you place yourself in the hands of the Lord,
21:41 and the Lord will use you in a wonderful way
21:44 to bring the gospel to other people.
21:46 As a matter of fact, 3ABN for a while in the lobby,
21:49 we had a little sign,
21:52 and it was a very colorfully done.
21:55 And the sign said this, "Preach the gospel
22:00 and if necessary use words."
22:04 Wow, what a profound message that is.
22:07 The reality is that you can preach the gospel
22:10 by the way you live your life.
22:14 So therefore, brothers and sisters,
22:16 put yourself in the hands of the Lord
22:18 and as it says in Matthew 5,
22:21 "Let your light therefore so shine before men,
22:25 that they may see your good works,
22:27 and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
22:31 So I say to you awake,
22:33 if you're sleeping spiritually awake
22:35 and say to the Lord, here I'm Lord, send me,
22:39 here I'm Lord, use me,
22:41 here I'm Lord at your disposal to use as it is your will
22:45 to bring the message of salvation to others.
22:48 And I say to you, if you look at yourself,
22:51 and you say well,
22:53 I don't really have capabilities of talking,
22:55 I don't know what to say.
22:57 The Lord will give you words to say.
23:00 Jesus said, "Go, I have all power."
23:02 The Lord will give you the words to say.
23:05 And as a good friend of mine used to say,
23:07 now passed away, Pastor Ray Cordell,
23:10 he used to say that your testimony
23:13 is the most powerful way you can preach the gospel.
23:17 You can tell people what God has done for you,
23:21 and no one knows that story like you do.
23:25 And God has done many things for you.
23:29 You can bring the gospel to others
23:31 in many different ways and is, if you're listening to me,
23:35 and it has been a long time that you do absolutely nothing,
23:39 this day, this week,
23:42 put yourself in the hands of the Lord,
23:44 and do everything that the Lord shows you to do
23:47 to bring the gospel to others.
23:49 And in this way you will contribute
23:52 to bringing the everlasting gospel
23:55 to the whole world,
23:56 and I say praise be to the Lord's name.
24:00 Now the fact that this angel is flying
24:03 in the midst of heaven,
24:04 this act of flying into midst of heaven,
24:07 shows not only that he has to be seen,
24:11 he has to be heard, and the flying is an aspect,
24:15 in Bible prophecy, it talks about speed.
24:19 It has to be done quickly.
24:20 It has to be something that is not done in a slow,
24:25 as you can preach the gospel.
24:27 No, preach the gospel to every nation, kindred,
24:30 tongue, and people, and I say to you
24:33 that we have to get the job done
24:35 and by the Lord's grace it shall be done.
24:37 Jesus said it will be preached, it's not a possible,
24:42 possibly preached...
24:43 The gospel might possibly be preached in all the world.
24:46 Perhaps it might be preached,
24:48 it says and this gospel shall we preach in all the world
24:51 for a witness unto all nations and then the end shall come.
24:55 So be a part of it, grab, order some pamphlets,
25:00 order some booklets, order some books,
25:02 you can even mail them from your home to other people.
25:05 You can send books electronically nowadays,
25:07 in PDF forms, in word or some other type of form,
25:11 so that people can read books.
25:13 There are endless opportunities
25:16 for those that place themselves in the hands of the Lord.
25:20 Now, take a look at the fact that this angel
25:24 is said that he is saying with a loud voice.
25:29 When you say something with the loud voice,
25:31 it is because you want to be heard,
25:34 you want people to hear what you have to say,
25:36 and this angel is said to be speaking in a loud voice,
25:42 that means it's a message that has to be heard.
25:44 It's a message that has to reach
25:46 the ears of the people.
25:48 It's a message that people have to understand
25:51 and under the power of the Holy Spirit
25:53 we can do it by God's grace.
25:56 We have been called upon by Jesus himself
25:58 to get it done, so I urge you to get
26:01 and get yourself in the hands of the Lord,
26:04 so that it can be done.
26:07 Amen.
26:08 And so as we look at Revelation 14:6,
26:13 it says that this angel has the everlasting gospel,
26:19 is the gospel that has from the very beginning
26:24 been a message that God has to bring to the world.
26:28 We're talking about from the beginning of time,
26:30 when sin entered into the world, the message.
26:32 The everlasting gospel has to be preached.
26:35 The everlasting gospel is the message
26:37 that God has a plan of salvation
26:41 and everyone is supposed to be preached to the uttermost
26:45 and everyone has the opportunity to be saved,
26:48 everyone has the possibility of being saved,
26:53 and everyone has to make a decision.
26:56 You think of the words of John 3:16,
26:59 "For God so loved the world
27:01 that He gave His only begotten Son,
27:04 that whosoever, includes anyone,
27:06 believeth in Him shall not perish,
27:09 but have an everlasting life.
27:11 If you pursue a life of sin,
27:16 you are going to perish,
27:19 but if you believe in Jesus Christ,
27:21 accept His salvation, you can have everlasting life
27:27 and this is part of the everlasting gospel.
27:29 Part of the everlasting gospel is not that you,
27:32 not only that you can be forgiven for your sins,
27:35 and I say to you if you have any sin,
27:38 whatever amount of sins they are,
27:39 however horrible they may be,
27:42 God can forgive everyone of them,
27:44 because the precious blood of Jesus Christ
27:48 makes that possible.
27:51 So come to Jesus just as you are,
27:53 place yourself in his hands and say, Lord,
27:57 I have done wicked things.
27:59 I have seen wicked things, I have shared wicked things,
28:04 I have spoken wicked things, when I come to you
28:08 and I ask you for your forgiveness,
28:11 and I claim the blood of Jesus Christ
28:14 and I accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior.
28:17 I choose to separate myself from all the evil
28:20 that I have done, and I say to you forgive me
28:24 and accept me and the beautiful thing is,
28:28 the Bible portrays it in different ways.
28:31 It portrays as if the shepherd is looking for a lost sheep.
28:35 It portrays as if a son is coming back to his father
28:39 after going out in the world,
28:41 and spending everything on wicked living,
28:44 that the father runs to meet the son.
28:48 And God will receive you with open arms.
28:51 And Jesus said in John 6:37,
28:54 "He that cometh unto me, I will in no ways cast out."
28:58 This is the everlasting gospel.
29:00 And the everlasting gospel
29:02 is also that God is not gonna leave you as you are.
29:06 You are to place yourself in his hands,
29:08 turn your back on sin, and walk with Jesus.
29:11 If any man will come after me, Jesus said,
29:14 let him take up his cross daily and follow me.
29:17 In other words you're following Jesus.
29:19 And if you follow Jesus, you would do as he did.
29:22 Jesus said in John 14:15,
29:25 "If you love me, keep my commandments."
29:27 In other words you're gonna choose to walk
29:30 and follow what Jesus did,
29:33 he kept all of his father's commandments.
29:35 In other words
29:36 you're separating yourself from the world,
29:38 from the evil of the world and following Jesus.
29:41 And Jesus is not gonna leave you as you are,
29:43 he's gonna transform you into his lightness.
29:47 This is the part of the everlasting gospel.
29:49 It's not just that you'll be forgiven,
29:51 is that you'll be transformed, changed into a new person,
29:55 a new creation, and old things are passed away,
29:58 all things become new
30:00 and as you continue following Jesus,
30:02 he will continue to transform you
30:04 into his likeness.
30:06 It is the everlasting gospel.
30:10 So we see that in John 14,
30:13 we have the message that the angel speaks.
30:18 Matthew 24:14,
30:20 we said that this is a message that has to go to the world,
30:23 and this message is a message for every kindred,
30:28 tongue, and people for every language,
30:30 for every nation we cannot leave a nation out,
30:34 everyone has to be included.
30:36 Now let's look at what the angel said,
30:39 remember the angel has the everlasting gospel.
30:45 So the messengers of God
30:46 are to have the everlasting gospel,
30:48 it's a pure gospel,
30:50 the fact that is an angel talks to you
30:52 about the purity of the message that should be sent
30:56 or given to the people.
30:58 It is not a message of human origin,
31:02 it's a message of divine origin,
31:04 so you need to be come familiar with God's word,
31:07 so you can preach the pure message of the gospel.
31:11 So one of the things that is interesting to consider
31:15 as we look at the first angel's message is,
31:18 that he has the everlasting gospel,
31:20 so therefore what he says
31:23 is part of the everlasting gospel.
31:26 So what is it that the angel says?
31:28 For this we need to turn to Revelation 14.
31:32 We have talked a little bit about Revelation 14:6.
31:36 Let us move now into Revelation 14:7,
31:41 because as I mention what the angels says
31:44 is part of the everlasting gospel.
31:47 What is it that he says? Let's read verse 7 once again.
31:51 "Saying with a loud voice, fear God,
31:54 and give glory to him,
31:55 for the hour of his judgment is come and worship him
31:59 that made heaven, and earth, and the sea,
32:01 and the fountains of waters."
32:04 So the first thing that we have the angel saying is fear God,
32:10 so we have to ask a question, what does it mean to fear God?
32:15 That means to have reverence for God.
32:19 That means to be in awe of God.
32:21 Let's look at a few scriptures that help us understand
32:24 what it means to fear God.
32:30 The first one that we're gonna look at
32:33 is 1 Timothy 6:15 and 16.
32:38 1 Timothy 6:15 and 16,
32:43 and here we have the following words.
32:46 "Which in his times he will show,
32:50 who is the blessed and only Potentate,
32:53 the King of kings, and Lord of lords,
32:56 Who only hath immortality,
33:00 dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto,
33:05 whom no man hath seen, nor can see:
33:08 to whom be honor and power everlasting.
33:13 Amen."
33:16 So we have to understand that God is holy
33:20 and dwells in a light which no man can approach unto,
33:24 so we should fear God for these reasons,
33:26 stand in awe and reverence him.
33:29 We're gonna talk in a moment
33:31 about how light people use God's name.
33:34 Before we do that, let's go to Psalm 24.
33:38 Psalm 24 and we're going to look at verses 3, 4 and 5.
33:44 Psalm 24:3, 4 and 5.
33:49 I have it already in my notes.
33:52 So I will read it from on there.
33:55 Matthew 24: 3-5.
33:58 "Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord?
34:01 Or who shall stand in his place?
34:04 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart,
34:08 who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity,
34:11 nor sworn deceitfully.
34:13 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord,
34:16 and righteousness from the God of his salvation."
34:21 You have to have what?
34:22 It says here clean hands, those are the things you do,
34:26 and a pure heart, the things you think about.
34:30 And so in other words,
34:32 you have to put these things behind you.
34:34 Speaking bad things, thinking bad things,
34:37 doing bad things,
34:38 before you stand in the presence of the Lord.
34:41 Worry it not for the wonderful forgiveness
34:44 and cleansing that Jesus Christ does in us
34:49 through his precious holy blood,
34:52 we could not stand in the presence of an Almighty,
34:55 Holy God.
34:57 So I say to you, we are completely dependent
35:00 and Jesus cleansing us from all sin
35:03 before we could even present ourselves before the Lord.
35:08 And as you consider this,
35:10 please understand that to even use his name in vain,
35:14 in common conversation is a horrendous sin.
35:19 People lightly use God's name and even profanity.
35:24 This is horrible and they should stop
35:27 right at the moment the person understands
35:30 that he is doing something wrong
35:32 and so, praise the Lord for 3ABN
35:36 that is helping people to understand this.
35:38 And God's people should help other people understand
35:41 that to takes God's name in vain is even a sin
35:45 because it is written in one of the commandment.
35:49 So as we consider what it is to fear God,
35:53 let us go to Exodus 24:16 and 17.
35:57 Exodus 24:16 and 17.
36:01 "And the glory of the Lord abode upon Mount Sinai,
36:06 and the cloud covered it six days:
36:09 and the seventh day he called unto Moses
36:11 out of the midst of the cloud.
36:14 And the sight of the glory of the Lord
36:17 was like a devouring fire on the top of the mount
36:21 in the eyes of the children of Israel."
36:25 Oh, if you continue reading,
36:27 you'll notice that the people of Israel,
36:29 shook the mountain
36:32 when God manifested himself on the mountain,
36:35 the mountain was shaking, the ground was shaking,
36:37 and there were lightnings and fire
36:39 and they feared God
36:42 because of his power and holiness.
36:46 So at this moment if you're hearing my voice
36:49 and you have as a common practice
36:51 just to say God's name and common talk,
36:53 common language or even use God's name in profanity,
36:57 I urge you to ask the Lord to help you put that
37:01 to a complete stop
37:03 and live your life in a different manner.
37:07 Notice again as John,
37:12 the apostle saw what he saw in Revelation 1:17.
37:17 Revelation 1:17, we have the following words.
37:21 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead.
37:27 And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me,
37:31 fear not, for I am the first and the last."
37:36 This is none other than Jesus Christ.
37:39 You may remember the glory of an angel
37:42 when Jesus was in the tomb
37:44 and the angel was sent to resurrect him.
37:47 The men or the Roman soldiers that were there by the tomb,
37:51 when they saw the angel, they were horrified
37:55 and they fell as dead men, that's the glory of an angel.
37:59 Imagine the glory of God
38:02 when he fully reveals his glory.
38:06 So I say to you fear God,
38:08 and don't take his name in vain.
38:11 We should reverence God's name
38:14 and that means to hold in deep respect
38:17 and admiration.
38:19 The commandment that tells us that we need to be careful
38:24 using God's name is found in Exodus 20:7.
38:28 Exodus 20:7, let's look at that verse.
38:32 "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain,
38:37 for the Lord will not hold him guiltless
38:40 that takes his name in vain."
38:42 So I urge you to examine your speech,
38:46 and see if you're using God's name in vain
38:49 and I urge you to put it rest, to stop.
38:54 So this is something that needs to be done
38:58 and I urge you to do it.
39:00 We should speak of God with solemnity and reverence
39:05 instead of just common language
39:07 or using God's name in profanity or even jokes.
39:12 We should fear God, and give glory Him.
39:15 Speaking of what it is to fear God,
39:18 I like to invite you now to the Book of Proverbs.
39:21 And the Book Proverbs also helps us to understand
39:24 what it means to fear God.
39:27 Proverbs 8:13,
39:30 it's like a definition of how what it is to fear God.
39:34 Proverbs 8:13,
39:36 "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil:
39:42 pride, and arrogance, and the evil way,
39:46 and the froward mouth, do I hate."
39:48 So what is it to fear God?
39:50 It's to hate evil, and pride and arrogance.
39:57 Human being such as you and I,
39:58 this idea of hating evil
40:03 is not something that we can do of ourselves.
40:07 It is only when Jesus Christ dwells in your heart
40:11 that you can learn to hate evil.
40:13 He is the only one that can help you hate evil,
40:17 so as Jesus said take up your cross daily
40:21 and follow him.
40:23 So what do you mean by taking up your cross daily?
40:24 What in the world does that mean?
40:26 That means that you choose to take your cross,
40:32 that means, that you're gonna put to death self,
40:37 that means that you're putting to death your way of living,
40:41 your way of speaking, your way of acting
40:44 and you're gonna follow Jesus,
40:45 and by his grace do as he would do,
40:48 speak as he would speak, and think as he would think.
40:52 This can only be done by allowing Jesus
40:55 to come into your heart,
40:56 and this is why Jesus is pictured in Revelation 3:20,
40:59 "Behold I stand at the door and knock,
41:03 if any man hears my voice and opens the door,
41:06 I will come into him and support him
41:09 and he with me."
41:11 We read in Proverbs 8:13,
41:14 "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil:
41:17 pride, and arrogance, and the evil way,
41:19 and the froward mouth, do I hate.
41:21 Psalms 34:11 helps us further to understand what it is,
41:26 the fear of the Lord.
41:28 Psalms 34:11,
41:33 and in Psalms 34,
41:35 coming all the way to the Book of Job.
41:36 Let's go to the Book of Psalm 34:11,
41:40 here are the words of the Lord,
41:41 "Come, ye children, He hearken unto me:
41:45 I will teach you the fear of the Lord."
41:49 So when we read in Proverbs 8:13,
41:53 that to fear the Lord is to hate evil,
41:55 and in Psalms 34, it tells us come,
41:57 I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
42:01 So to fear the Lord,
42:03 we must come to the Lord to learn how to fear the Lord.
42:07 In Job 28:28,
42:10 Job 28:28, we have the following words.
42:13 "And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord,
42:18 that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding."
42:23 To depart from evil is understanding.
42:25 In Ecclesiastes 12: 13,
42:28 I would just read this from my notes.
42:29 Ecclesiastes 12:13,
42:32 "Let us hear the conclusion about the whole matter,
42:36 fear God, and keep his commandments,
42:40 for this is the whole duty of man."
42:44 So what is the whole duty of man?
42:46 Fear God and hate evil.
42:50 Be in all of God, reverence him,
42:54 and keep his commandments, this is our whole duty.
42:58 The Bible says, and so I encourage you
43:02 to place yourself
43:03 in right relationship with the Lord,
43:07 that you may fear God hate evil and depart from all evil.
43:13 And by God's grace as we read in Psalms 34,
43:17 if we place ourselves in the hands of Lord,
43:19 He will teach us how to hate evil.
43:23 Psalms 34:11.
43:25 So let's go back to Revelation 14:7
43:30 and pick up the next part of the verse,
43:32 Revelation 14:7,
43:34 the angel said with the loud voice fear God
43:37 and give glory to him.
43:40 Let us deal with that aspect of the verse,
43:42 give glory to him.
43:44 God's glory is his character. God's glory is his character.
43:50 I like to invite you to quickly join me in Exodus 33:18.
43:55 Exodus 33:18, God's glory is his character.
43:58 Notice the conversation that takes place
44:01 here in Exodus 33:18,
44:03 Moses speaking to the Lord says,
44:05 "And he said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory."
44:12 Moses said show me thy glory.
44:14 Notice how God responds to Moses.
44:17 Exodus 33:19, "And he said,
44:20 I will make all my goodness pass before thee,
44:24 and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee,
44:28 and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious,
44:30 and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy."
44:34 So he said he was gonna proclaim his goodness,
44:37 those are attributes of his character.
44:40 Furthermore, he said,
44:42 that he will proclaim his name before him.
44:46 In Exodus 34:1, for in order for Moses
44:52 to see His glory, to see God's glory,
44:56 God was gonna proclaim
44:58 the attributes of his character.
45:00 Notice what he told Moses to do.
45:03 Exodus 34:1, "And the Lord said unto Moses,
45:06 Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first:
45:09 and I will write upon these tables the words
45:12 that were in the first tables, which thou brakest."
45:15 In other words, Moses broke the Ten Commandments
45:18 that God had given him,
45:20 and now they have to be replaced,
45:23 and part of that process was for God
45:27 to show Moses his glory.
45:30 And notice what God did,
45:33 when he was showing Moses his glory.
45:38 Exodus 34:5, 6 and 7.
45:41 "And the Lord descended in the cloud,
45:44 and stood with him there,
45:45 and proclaimed the name of the Lord.
45:48 Attributes of his character.
45:50 And the Lord passed by before him,
45:52 and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God,
45:55 merciful and gracious, attributes of his character,
45:58 longsuffering,
45:59 and abundant in goodness and truth,
46:03 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity
46:06 and transgression and sin,
46:09 and that will by no means clear the guilty,
46:12 visiting the iniquity of the fathers
46:14 upon the children,
46:15 and upon the children's children,
46:16 unto the third and to the fourth generation."
46:20 So notice what he did.
46:22 Give me two tables of stone, prepare two tables of stone,
46:25 and God proclaimed attributes of his character.
46:29 Why are we saying these things?
46:31 To give glory to God is also to characterize him.
46:37 And so the Ten Commandments are virtually,
46:40 literally a transcript of God's character.
46:45 The first four commandments,
46:49 you'll notice speak about our relationship with the Lord.
46:53 And as we speak about our relationship with the Lord,
46:57 the first four commandments
47:00 that talks about our relationship with the Lord,
47:01 reminds us of what Jesus say,
47:03 this is the first and great commandment.
47:04 Love the Lord your God with all your heart,
47:06 with all your mind, with all your soul,
47:08 with all your strength.
47:09 This is the first and great commandment.
47:12 The second part of the Ten Commandments.
47:15 The second part of the Ten Commandments
47:17 deal with our relationship with our fellow man.
47:20 Thou should not kill, thou should not steal,
47:23 honor your father and your mother,
47:24 I'm not saying them in sequence,
47:26 and etcetera, etcetera.
47:28 And so these Ten Commandments
47:31 are a transcript of God's character,
47:34 and if you live by them, you will be following God,
47:40 you will be glorifying God, you will be characterizing God
47:43 because this is the way God is.
47:47 So in other words, to fear God,
47:50 that means to characterize him,
47:54 and so and give glory to him means to characterize him,
47:58 God's glory is his character.
48:01 Yes, we look at, when we look at God
48:03 and we see the light that is, we're not even able to bear
48:09 and shall we think of that's his glory.
48:11 But that's yes, that's his glory,
48:13 but also his character is his glory.
48:17 In fact I like to read to you from a book
48:19 called Christ Object Lessons, page 415 and 416,
48:24 Christ Object Lessons has a message
48:26 and it's explained in better words than I could.
48:28 So I would like to summarize we need to say in these words.
48:33 The last message of mercy to be given to the world
48:38 is a revelation of his character of love.
48:42 That's through you and me.
48:44 The children of God are to manifest his glory
48:48 in their own life and character they are to reveal
48:52 what the grace of God has done for them.
48:56 Praise be to God.
48:58 So to give glory to God is to characterize him,
49:02 that's the highest form of giving glory to God.
49:07 Yes, you can give glory to God by praising his name
49:11 and saying thank you Lord, and you're great and marvelous,
49:15 you're my creator, your words express
49:19 also that you're giving glory to God.
49:23 In Romans 13, Romans 13:10, the Bible tells us,
49:29 "Love worketh no ill to his neighbour,
49:33 therefore love is the fulfilling of the law."
49:36 Matthew 22:38, 39 and 40, speaking of the commandments.
49:43 "This is the first and great commandment,
49:45 Jesus said.
49:46 And the second is like unto it,
49:51 Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
49:53 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."
49:58 I should read Matthew 22:37, we already quoted it
50:02 which is to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart,
50:05 and with all your soul, and with all your mind."
50:07 This is the first and great commandment.
50:09 The second is love your neighbour as yourself.
50:12 So my brothers and sisters,
50:13 those that are listening to give glory to God is,
50:17 not only with words,
50:18 but also to characterize him and remember it says,
50:22 in the Bible in Matthew 5:13, 14,
50:27 it says, let your light, therefore so shine before men,
50:30 that they may see your good words
50:32 and glorify your father which is in heaven.
50:37 As we continue we like to invite you
50:39 to turn to Hebrews 1, Hebrews 1.
50:43 Notice the words of Hebrews 1:1, 2 and 3.
50:49 "God, who at sundry times
50:51 and in divers manners spake in time
50:53 past unto the fathers by the prophets,
50:56 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son,
51:00 whom he hath appointed heir of all things,
51:03 by whom also he made the worlds,
51:05 Who being the brightness of his glory,
51:08 and the express image of his person,
51:11 and upholding all things by the word of his power,
51:14 when he had by himself purged our sins,
51:16 sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high."
51:21 These words found in verse 3,
51:25 express image is the Hebrew word,
51:28 I mean the Greek word Charakter,
51:32 which means character.
51:34 So Jesus was the,
51:36 express image was the character of God.
51:39 He manifested the character of God
51:41 as he was on earth.
51:43 And for you and I too, give glory to God
51:47 the best way is to characterize him
51:50 by following him and obeying his commandments.
51:55 Notice in Luke 17:17 and 18, we need to give glory to God
52:01 by praising His name for the wonderful things
52:03 he does for us.
52:05 Luke 17:17 and 18, "And Jesus answering said,
52:10 We're not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?
52:15 There are not found that returned to give glory to God,
52:18 save this stranger."
52:21 As I've read these two verses you'll recognize
52:23 that 10 lepers came to Jesus and said, have mercy on us,
52:27 have mercy on us, and he says go show yourself to the priest
52:30 and as they obeyed his voice
52:32 and started walking to show themselves
52:35 to the priest they were cleansed,
52:37 they were made whole, Jesus healed them.
52:42 And only one of them return to give thanks to Jesus
52:48 and praise God's name.
52:50 So the words of Jesus in verse 18
52:53 are there not found,
52:55 only one is here to give glory to God,
52:59 so the words of expressions of gratitude to God,
53:04 we give glory to him.
53:07 Remember Matthew 5:16, is not 14, Matthew 5:16,
53:11 I said Matthew 5:14 previously, it's,
53:14 "Let your light so shine before men,
53:16 that they may see your good works,
53:18 and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
53:22 So I say to you is there another way
53:24 we can give glory to God,
53:26 one way in which we can give glory to God
53:29 is found in 1 Corinthians 6:19 and 20,
53:33 we're gonna have to hurry
53:35 because our time is almost over.
53:37 1 Corinthians 6:19 and 20. "What?
53:41 Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost
53:45 which is in you, which ye have of God,
53:48 and ye are not your own?
53:50 For ye are bought with a price:
53:52 therefore glorify God in your body,
53:56 and in your spirit, which are God's."
54:00 So verse 20 tells us
54:02 that we are to glorify God in your body.
54:05 How do you glorify God in your body?
54:11 This is helping us to understand
54:14 that we cannot just put in our mouth,
54:16 just anything that pleases us, anything that taste good.
54:22 We have to be temperate, we have to be cautious
54:27 about what we put in our mouth to eat,
54:30 because it can cause us, it cause damage to our health,
54:34 and it could cause us to do damage to the temple
54:38 that God has given us.
54:39 Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
54:43 And as our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit,
54:46 we should not do anything that will harm our body,
54:50 excess of eating, even lack of eating.
54:53 And so we have to be very careful
54:56 with what we put in our body,
54:57 because we are to glorify God in our body.
55:01 So this is what we could call the health message.
55:05 A message that we should be careful
55:08 about what we eat and drink,
55:10 so that our body could be in optimum condition
55:13 to glorify God.
55:14 We are to glorify God in our body.
55:16 There are many benefits
55:18 to following the health principles
55:21 found in the Bible
55:22 that help us to understand the diet
55:25 that will be of best benefit, for you and for me.
55:30 So I would like to encourage you
55:32 to look at your habits of eating, and drinking
55:34 and if they're not in line with the Bible,
55:36 you can look at Leviticus 11, they're not in line,
55:40 you can look in Genesis in the beginning
55:41 and see the original diet, and follow that and you'll know
55:45 that you can glorify God in your body.
55:48 And so a lot of people,
55:51 the majority of what they eat is a lot of sweet,
55:53 a lot of grease,
55:55 things that are going to harm you.
55:58 And some people use things
55:59 they're not even supposed to enter into your system,
56:01 cigarette smoking, drugs, alcohol,
56:05 and all these type of things damage your body,
56:09 therefore I urge you to leave them
56:11 as soon as you hear this message
56:14 as God to give you power over them.
56:17 And so as we fear God and give glory to him,
56:20 we understand that we are to glorify him
56:24 with the things we say, the things we do,
56:27 and what things we think about.
56:29 And we glorify God in our body.
56:31 We have talked about the first angel's message,
56:33 this is part one.
56:34 We're going to go into part two,
56:36 because there are other things the angel said
56:38 which are part of the everlasting gospel
56:41 that we need to consider.
56:42 We have to consider that the message
56:46 that the first angel has is a message
56:49 that the whole world needs to understand
56:51 to every nation, kindred, tongue and people.
56:54 I encourage you and invite you to be here with us
56:57 for part two of the first angel's message.
56:59 We'll see you next time.
