00:01 Dr. Marcum, before we get to our questions
00:03 I wanna, I wanna clarify something in my own mind.
00:06 I needed to you help me to do that.
00:07 Yeah, I'll do that.
00:08 When we are listening to music,
00:10 we're using one of our senses.
00:12 What part do senses play in health?
00:17 You understand what I'm trying to say there?
00:18 Yes, I do. And I think this is an underestimated thing
00:21 that we don't talk much about medicine, Charles.
00:24 And you think about it.
00:25 Every sense that we have creates a chemical reaction.
00:28 So we have hearing, we have seeing, we have tasting--
00:31 Yeah, all of those, influences if you see bad things
00:33 that causes chemical reaction in the brain.
00:35 If I pop you right here, Charles,
00:37 you gonna have a chemical reaction
00:39 when you start to hurt.
00:40 Yes, I am. Okay.
00:41 The same thing with sounds.
00:42 Birds have a chemical reaction when we hear the birds.
00:45 If we hear dissonant sounds, things that damage our brains,
00:48 we also turn on the limbic system. Yeah.
00:50 You know we turn off the prefrontal lobe,
00:52 the part that makes us communicate with God.
00:56 And these things are so critical to us
00:58 that we don't even put those into context
01:00 sometimes in medicine.
01:01 We say, well, a person is not doing well.
01:03 Let me give them a medicine.
01:05 You know, let me not try to sum up everything
01:07 that makes up good health.
01:09 Let me look at some of the senses things,
01:11 the music that comes in whether,
01:13 you know, the things we talked about before the hydration,
01:16 all of these changes are chemistry.
01:17 Like you mentioned the Florida hospital study changes
01:20 the body's chemistry.
01:21 Well, maybe people are taking and damaging sounds,
01:24 that s damaging and turning on the stress chemical.
01:27 And maybe a little bit of stress from not sleeping well,
01:29 a little bit from not drinking enough water,
01:31 not resting well, bad sounds in a life,
01:34 and also emotional things,
01:36 having wrong concepts in relationships,
01:38 maybe that brings us above a line that didn't turns on
01:40 all these stress cascade then these symptoms happen,
01:43 then the symptoms happen.
01:45 It requires a medication or acute care medicine.
01:47 Or maybe all along if we got back to the principles
01:50 given us to God at creation, maybe that would solve
01:53 a lot of our--it would solve a lot of our problems.
01:55 And, you know, and you know birds,
01:58 birds where there for reason.
02:00 Music is there for reason.
02:01 So as we look at our own lives, as we examine
02:06 why we are sick.
02:09 We would do well to start checking
02:13 what is happening in our senses.
02:15 I'm talking about taste. Everything.
02:17 I'm talking about sight what we're looking at,
02:19 what we're hearing. Right.
02:22 Our senses are indicators
02:26 of some of the problems that might be there.
02:27 Right 'cause that's the way things
02:29 are coming into our system.
02:30 And that's why it's so important to get back
02:32 to God's plan and incorporate Him in any treatment plan.
02:35 That relationship so He can bring us truth.
02:38 The world's not gonna tell us what's true out there.
02:40 They're not gonna say these things are damaging us
02:42 only God can lead us in this relationship.
02:45 But let's get some of the questions here.
02:46 Absolutely. This is from heartwiseministries.org.
02:49 Dr. Marcum, and we're gonna
02:50 talk about these questions here.
02:51 By the way listener and viewer, if you would like
02:54 to have some questions discussed on this program
02:58 just go to www.heartwiseministries.org,
03:02 there's a place to click and you can leave your question
03:05 for us and we might talk about it right here on this program.
03:07 But they'll be addressed on the website as well.
03:10 Okay, we haven't talked that much about fish.
03:11 I like talking about birds and fish.
03:13 Let's talk about fish here.
03:15 It seems that a lot of people think that fish
03:17 only good for one thing,
03:19 and that is to put lemon on and eat. Okay.
03:22 But here is a person asking question
03:24 about that very thing.
03:26 "I enjoy fish." This is Buddy and Mane.
03:28 Okay, Mane. "I enjoy fish.
03:30 Is there a real mercury risk in fish?
03:35 And then I want to add also,
03:36 is it then okay for us to eat farm grown fish?"
03:40 Yeah, and you know, this one buddy,
03:43 is a good better best one, okay.
03:45 We do know that mercury is in fish.
03:49 And there is this property called bioamplification,
03:53 where not only mercury but other chemicals
03:55 are amplified as it moves up to food chain
03:58 For instance a fish eats this animal that eats this animal
04:01 that eats this animal.
04:02 Well, way down to food chains it's not very amplified.
04:05 But it gets amplified up to food chains
04:07 the actual concentrations are actually very high in a fish.
04:10 Okay, all right. These chemical, especially mercury,
04:13 were not made to be in, in human bodies, okay.
04:17 So Buddy ask is there a real mercury risk.
04:20 Well, I'd have to say, yes, there is a risk.
04:22 Is it a high risk?
04:24 I don't know. It's according to how much mercury
04:26 is in that fish.
04:27 We do know that--that in the better best diet
04:31 we want to have more foods and vegetables,
04:33 nuts and grains and less fish, but I would have to say,
04:36 Buddy, there is a real risk that comes with eating
04:39 anything that could eat something else.
04:41 For instance, you know the same with plants.
04:44 There are certain plants had risks too if they're spread
04:46 with certain pesticides, you know, in certain animals,
04:50 you know, whether it'd be chickens or cattle,
04:54 they all have risk depending
04:56 on what brings them into market
04:57 and what that animal has in their life.
04:59 Now we'll say that plants have less interactions
05:02 in other things, and the main thing I'm concerned--
05:03 They don't eat by just the nature.
05:05 The main thing I'm concerned about plants
05:06 now is pesticides and genetically modified material.
05:10 And how they're fertilized?
05:12 That's correct. A lot of problems we're having today
05:14 with plants is not because there is a problem
05:16 with the plant, there's a problem
05:18 with how they fertilize the plant.
05:19 And so we have this salmonella.
05:20 We have these pesticides.
05:22 We have these problems happening
05:23 not because of the plant.
05:24 There's nothing wrong with the plant.
05:26 It's what they fertilize the plant with.
05:27 And by the way the question about the fish,
05:29 I asked you because I happen
05:30 to know the answer of this one.
05:32 Try to find clean water in this world.
05:35 Just try, go ahead.
05:36 And there is amplification that Dr. Marcum
05:38 was talking about when you put fish
05:40 into any kind of water supply,
05:44 you gonna have residue in that water.
05:46 No matter where, that is, if it's inland some place
05:49 or it's in a farm fish, fish farm I should say,
05:52 you gonna have water that is polluted
05:54 and then that amplification happens.
05:56 The fish polluted more and up
05:59 we go, and we're off to the races.
06:00 By getting back to Buddy, you know, we can worry about
06:03 all of the stuff and we can also create stress
06:05 just from worrying about every little thing.
06:07 And that's why I think it really takes the power of God
06:10 in a life and that relationship to help
06:13 each one of us know where God is leading us.
06:15 You can sit down to a perfectly good meal
06:17 and you have all the good things
06:19 here and you're saying, oh, am I eating right thing?
06:21 Should I eat this first and that first?
06:23 Do I have this? Should I eat it raw?
06:25 Should I eat it cooked? And stress
06:27 will cause more problems.
06:28 That's right. I think we don't have a hamburger.
06:30 That's exactly right.
06:31 And that's why it takes this relationship to give us
06:34 the power to help us to understand
06:35 where we should go. Yeah.
06:36 This world is not a perfect world, Charles.
06:39 I could find something wrong with literally everything.
06:41 But through this relationship into the change,
06:43 we try to grow with Christ.
06:46 We try to work along this line towards
06:48 the best as God leads us.
06:50 It's all about risks management.
06:52 Yes. Quite to do the things in your life
06:54 that reduces the risks as far as possible.
06:56 And what God said right here in Genesis.
06:59 It's a great way to start, it reduces risk enormously.
07:02 Okay, another question here from heartwiseministies.org.
07:07 What is avian flu? My uncle had this last year.
07:10 This is Jillian, Minnesota.
07:12 Yeah, Jill, this has nothing to do really with the birds
07:16 singing that we talked about early.
07:18 This is a disease that's passed on from birds
07:21 and it passes to humans.
07:23 And what I really want to let you know
07:24 is that we do contract diseases from animals.
07:28 And as we've eaten animals like chickens,
07:31 and you know, mad cow disease for instance,
07:33 you know, you don't get mad cow
07:34 disease unless you eat cows.
07:36 You know, and certain diseases that's passed on by birds.
07:39 You don't get those unless you eat birds.
07:41 So animals do carry diseases and germs
07:44 that can be passed on from person to person
07:46 that can cause problems.
07:47 So if you want, you know, avian flu is an infection
07:50 that's passed on from birds and it's something
07:52 that can be treated and it's something
07:54 that's very hard to diagnose.
07:56 So if you have flu like symptoms
07:58 you might want to see an infectious disease doctor
08:00 who wants to test you for that.
08:02 But almost every infectious
08:03 disease doctor regards the flu,
08:04 they gonna do a detailed history of everything
08:06 you've eaten and been in contact
08:08 with 'cause you gonna pass this viruses
08:10 that are within the animals that are changing.
08:12 That's why, you know, these things like mad cow disease
08:16 and avian flu, you know, people that eat
08:18 a plant-based diet just don't have problems
08:20 with this because they don't bring those things
08:21 into their lives so those viruses
08:23 can't get into their bodies.
08:24 Let's get to the source.
08:26 Let's find out how we can prevent the problem
08:29 not just cover it up.
08:31 This reminds me, Dr. Marcum, of something
08:33 I heard the other day.
08:34 You're saying that if you don't wanna have a avian flu
08:37 then don't eat birds, if you don't wanna have these problem
08:40 don't eat the animals.
08:42 We know that high cholesterol is a problem in this country
08:44 because of our diet and the standard American diet
08:47 is very high and saturated fat et cetera, et cetera.
08:50 So it was discussed. This is actually happening.
08:54 It has been discussed that maybe we should put some kind
08:57 of statin in the water supply,
09:00 so that when we have our cholesterol growing up,
09:05 the statins that we have put in the water supply
09:07 is actually helping keep the cholesterol down the--
09:12 What are your statins in the water supply?
09:14 Here's a thought, don't eat animal products.
09:19 Don't eat cholesterol.
09:21 Let's talk about prevention here.
09:22 Yeah. You know, let you know that's very important,
09:24 but when you work with patients
09:26 everyday it's not that easy.
09:28 Most of the society can't just turn it off.
09:30 Well, it is that easy,
09:31 but they're not allowing it to be that easy.
09:33 Right. They just can't turn it off,
09:34 all this marketing, the way they've been raised,
09:36 their culture, there's neural synapses in the brain
09:39 that brings pleasure had been turned on
09:41 since they were babies. That's true.
09:42 They've eaten this way.
09:43 And only way you turn the lights oh,
09:45 they can no with intellectually.
09:47 I know people that know this intellectually all the time.
09:49 But it takes the higher power to change,
09:52 to create a new brain, a new heart.
09:54 It's easy for people to say,
09:56 "oh, this is what you gonna do," makes no sense.
09:57 And for some people it doesn't make sense.
10:00 But a lot of people just don't find it that easy.
10:02 It takes the higher to reprogram
10:04 how they've lived their entire life.
10:06 Boy that is important.
10:08 Yeah. For those people who are struggling with this,
10:12 one step at a time. Let's just be--
10:13 Let's get to our next question.
10:14 I think that's a good one-- Let's do this one.
10:16 I am a caregiver. This is Patty in Kentucky.
10:19 I'm a caregiver for my aunt
10:20 who becomes very agitated at night.
10:23 She is so weak. I'm concerned about giving her more
10:25 medications, any suggestions. This is a problem.
10:27 Yes, yes. Maybe, see what medicines or doctor
10:30 can take her off in music.
10:33 Maybe some music that she can hear some wonderful things
10:36 and nice music at night, you know, play some nature songs
10:39 maybe the water, maybe that will help
10:41 her little bit to come less agitated.
10:44 We've seen in studies that calming music
10:46 helps calm the soul, helps turn down adrenaline
10:49 and the stress hormones, helps make endorphins higher.
10:52 I don't think it's gonna hurt.
10:53 I don't think it's gonna cause any side-effects.
10:56 But play music, play some of the music that she liked
10:58 when she was younger when she was growing up,
11:00 and see if that might help this agitating state.
11:03 I've even seen studies where Alzheimer patients
11:05 respond to music from so far back.
11:08 They may not be able to remember your name.
11:10 But they know that tune. So music is very--
11:12 I remember, all treatments, Charles, doesn't necessarily
11:15 have to do necessarily with the body.
11:18 Sometimes you can change the brain.
11:20 The brain and the body are very much in related.
11:22 And if we can change the brain the body will follow as well.
11:25 Wow. These have been very important questions
11:28 and we are really appreciate you providing this for us.
11:31 Once again if you would like to add your question
11:33 to our list, please go to www.heartwiseministeries.org,
11:39 and there you can leave the question,
11:40 and we'll address you right here on the program.
11:42 But Lord wants to put into our hearts a new song,
11:46 a new song for us to sing.
11:48 A song that will bring us healing and that song
11:51 may include some changes
11:52 that we need to make in our lives.
11:54 So there our rhythm and our song is different. Stay tuned.
12:07 I hope you've learned something.
12:09 You know, we started talking about birds and the songs
12:11 that they sing and I hope that bring some
12:13 relaxation to your life.
12:15 We've talked about Biblical treatments
12:17 the way we can change our body
12:20 with all these Biblical technology
12:21 that God's given us.
12:23 These changes are not easy.
12:25 In my life, they haven't been easy.
12:27 I see patients everyday in the office
12:29 and when we present these concepts,
12:31 people have a hard time changing
12:33 until they plug into the power of the Holy Spirit,
12:36 that relationship gives them the power to meet
12:39 them where we through at.
12:40 We want to love people and not judge people
12:43 and also wrap the truth in love.
12:46 When this accomplishes God can do great things.
12:49 I'm gonna pray for you right now.
12:50 Let's bow our heads.
12:53 Heavenly father, we come to you.
12:55 We thank you for the birds that sing songs.
12:57 Father, there might be someone in our audience
12:59 that needs healing.
13:01 We wanna pray for that healing
13:02 that can come from a relationship with you father.
13:05 And if they haven't accepted you Father at this point,
13:07 please enter their lives.
13:09 Thank you for all this Biblical technology
13:11 you've given us and give us the power
13:13 to apply to our life as you lead us.
13:16 This is our most humble prayer. Amen
13:20 Some of the concepts you hear
13:21 you don't necessarily hearin the doctor's office.
13:23 But there are very important in the chemistry.
13:26 The senses that we talked about
13:28 how it changes who you are.
13:29 It's important what you're listening to.
13:31 It's important what you're drinking.
13:33 It's important to what you're drinking.
13:35 Sometimes what you're listening to changes
13:37 your mind, your neural pathways, it disrupts it.
13:40 It turns on the stress part of the brain
13:42 and not the front part of the brain
13:44 where we do our communication with God.
13:46 I wanna invite you to turn these health issues
13:49 over through the great physician.
13:51 Let Him be a part of your treatment plan,
13:53 showing you the place for modern medicine and lifestyle,
13:56 but always including Him.
13:57 Thank you for joining us today
13:59 on, "The Ultimate prescription".
