00:01 Welcome to Your Favorites by Request
00:02 with me, Tim Parton.
00:04 You've sent me your favorite songs
00:06 and I'm ready to play while you sing along.
00:10 And if you don't remember all the words,
00:12 don't worry they're on the screen.
00:14 And now, Your Favorites by Request.
00:17 Your Favorites by Request
00:20 La la la, la la la
00:24 Hi, welcome to Your Favorites.
00:26 Have you ever tried to describe a smell
00:29 whether good or unpleasant,
00:31 or perhaps a sound, or an emotion.
00:33 I recently prepared a dish that smelled the closest thing
00:37 to dirty socks, I've ever smelled,
00:39 that's just the best way I can describe it.
00:42 There are some things you just have to experience
00:44 for yourself or not.
00:46 I love what the psalmist says in Psalm 34:8,
00:49 "Taste and see that the Lord is good,"
00:52 using the very senses that God created
00:55 and placed in us to fully experience
00:58 His goodness, I love that.
01:00 I also love the words in Timothy Dudley-Smith's hymn,
01:03 like water to the thirsty,
01:04 he uses such beautiful imagery in this song.
01:07 If you've never heard it, or sung it,
01:09 follow along and grasp these descriptions
01:12 of what the Lord means to us.
01:14 The song is for Martha, as water to the thirsty.
01:24 As water to the thirsty
01:29 As beauty to the eyes
01:32 As strength that follows weakness
01:36 As truth instead of lies
01:40 As song-time and springtime
01:44 And summertime to be
01:48 So is my Lord, my living Lord
01:52 So is my Lord to me
02:30 As sleep that follows fever
02:35 As gold instead of grey
02:38 As freedom after bondage
02:42 As sunrise to the day
02:46 As home to the trav'ler
02:50 And all he longs to see
02:54 So is my Lord, my living Lord
02:58 So is my Lord to me
03:26 In the morning when I rise
03:31 In the morning when I rise
03:35 In the morning when I rise
03:39 Give me Jesus
03:43 Give me Jesus
03:48 Give me Jesus
03:52 You may have all this word
03:57 But give me Jesus
04:06 When I am alone
04:09 Oh, when I am alone
04:14 Oh, when I am alone
04:17 Give me Jesus
04:41 And when I come to die
04:45 Oh, when I come to die
04:50 Oh, when I come to die
04:53 Give me Jesus
04:58 Give me Jesus
05:03 Give me Jesus
05:06 You may have all this world
05:12 But give me Jesus
05:38 There's a sweet, sweet
05:42 Spirit in this place
05:48 And I know that it's the Spirit
05:53 Of the Lord
05:57 There are sweet expressions
06:02 On each face
06:06 And I know they feel the presence
06:11 Of the Lord
06:16 Sweet Holy Spirit
06:21 Sweet heavenly Dove
06:25 Stay right here with us
06:30 Filling us with Your love
06:35 And for these blessings
06:39 We lift our hearts in praise
06:44 Without a doubt we'll know
06:47 That we have been revived
06:50 When we shall leave this place
06:57 Sing that chorus again.
07:00 Sweet Holy Spirit
07:06 Sweet heavenly Dove
07:10 Stay right here with us
07:15 Filling us with Your love
07:20 And for these blessings
07:25 We lift our hearts in praise
07:31 Without a doubt we'll know
07:34 That we have been revived
07:38 When we shall
07:42 Leave this place
07:54 Be sure and come back, and join us for the next part.
