00:01 Thanks for joining us on Your Favorites By Request.
00:03 We've been singing some maybe obscure songs to you,
00:08 some that you're not familiar with.
00:09 I'm certainly not familiar with some of these hymns
00:13 that are some older hymns.
00:14 But it's a delight to get,
00:16 to get into the hymnal
00:17 and really find out some new melodies.
00:20 And the lyrics are wonderful, lyrics as always.
00:24 In Romans 8:35, Paul reminds us that
00:27 nothing in the universe has the power to diminish
00:30 God's love toward us.
00:33 Troubles, pressures, problems, they're unable to come
00:37 between us and heaven's love.
00:39 And not even persecution, deprivation, danger,
00:43 or death threats
00:44 can hinder the omnipotent love of Christ.
00:48 I have a good friend, Ellen in Oregon,
00:51 who requested this song,
00:53 O, love that will not let me go.
01:08 O, Love that will not let me go
01:14 I rest my weary soul in thee
01:20 I give thee back the life I owe
01:26 That in thine ocean depths Its flow
01:31 May richer, fuller be
01:41 O, Light that follow'st All my way
01:47 I yield my flick'ring torch To thee
01:53 My heart restores Its borrowed ray
01:59 That in thy sunshine's blaze Its day
02:04 May brighter, fairer be
02:45 O, Cross That's liftest up my head
02:51 I dare not ask to fly from thee
02:58 I lay in dust life's glory dead
03:04 And from the ground
03:07 There blossoms red
03:09 That life that shall endless be
03:26 Beautiful song.
03:28 Ellen, I hope you enjoyed that song.
03:31 From Dell in Monterey, Tennessee,
03:33 back in my area comes a request for a song
03:36 with beautiful lyrics.
03:38 It's another obscure song in my opinion,
03:40 but it gives a progressive look at the maturity of our prayers
03:45 as we ultimately learn our greatest need is to love.
03:50 This song enforces the importance of singing
03:53 all of the verses
03:55 something that many of you request,
03:57 no matter what the song they say.
03:59 We want to hear all the verses.
04:00 So be sure and follow along because this is a great...
04:04 The idea is a wonderful idea
04:06 when you follow from verse 1 through 5.
04:09 It goes like this.
04:29 At first I prayed for light
04:33 Could I but see the way
04:37 How gladly, swiftly would
04:40 I walk To everlasting day
04:47 And next I prayed for strength
04:51 That I might tread the road
04:55 With firm, unfalt'ring feet, And win
05:01 The heav'n's serene abode
05:06 And then I prayed for faith
05:11 Could I but trust my God
05:15 I'd live enfolded in His peace
05:20 Though foes were all abroad
05:26 But now I pray for love
05:30 Deep love to God and man
05:35 A living love That will not fail
05:40 However dark His plan
05:44 Listen to this.
05:46 And light and strength And faith
05:50 Are opening everywhere
05:54 God waited patiently until
06:00 I prayed the larger prayer
06:08 Isn't that neat?
06:09 That's really cool.
06:11 It's my prayer that your life
06:13 would be full of the power of Christ's love,
06:16 so that you can make a difference in this world
06:18 and bring honor to Him.
06:20 Remember, the most important thing
06:23 is to love God and to love others.
06:25 I want to send out this song to Eva in Inman, Kansas
06:29 who requested In a Little While We're Going Home.
06:32 Eva lives out there in the Midwest,
06:35 close to where I was born and raised.
06:37 I was in Missouri,
06:39 so we're right next-door neighbors.
06:41 Missouri and Kansas are.
06:43 I don't know where Inman is, but I'm sure it's close.
06:45 So hope you enjoy
06:47 In a Little While We're Going Home.
06:55 Sing along now.
06:57 Let us sing a song
07:00 That will cheer us by the way
07:02 In a little while We're going home
07:06 For the night will end
07:09 In the everlasting day
07:11 In a little while We're going home
07:16 In a little while, In a little while
07:20 We shall cross The billow's foam
07:25 We shall meet at last
07:27 When the stormy winds are past
07:30 In a little while We're going home
07:35 And we will do the work
07:37 That our hands will find to do
07:39 In a little while We're going home
07:44 And the grace of God
07:46 Will our daily strength renew
07:49 In a little while We're going home
07:53 In a little while, In a little while
07:58 We shall cross The billow's foam
08:02 We shall meet at last
08:04 When the stormy winds are past
08:08 In a little while We're going home
08:11 You sing it now.
08:30 Oh, in a little while
08:32 In a little while
08:35 We shall cross The billow's foam
08:39 We shall meet at last
08:41 When the stormy winds are past
08:45 In a little while We're going home
08:49 And let's do the last verse.
08:51 There's a rest beyond
08:54 There's relief from every care
08:56 In a little while We're going home
09:00 And no tears shall fall
09:03 In that city bright and fair
09:05 In a little while We're going home
09:09 Oh, in a little while
09:12 In a little while
09:14 We shall cross The billow's foam
09:18 We shall meet at last
09:21 When the stormy winds are past
09:24 In a little while We're going home
09:29 In a little while We're going home
09:38 I love that song.
09:39 That's a fun song.
09:41 And a good thought
09:42 in little while we are going home.
09:44 I can't wait.
09:45 So a lot of the requests that we're doing are songs
09:51 that have been requested from quite a while back.
09:54 But just this morning,
09:56 I received a beautiful request from this song,
10:00 and I think you'll recognize it.
12:19 And there's the third verse.
12:22 I'd stay in the garden
12:26 With Him
12:29 Though the night around me
12:34 is falling
12:37 But He bids me go
12:42 Through the voice of woe
12:46 His voice to me
12:50 Is calling
12:55 And He walks with me
13:01 And He talks with me
13:06 And He tells me
13:09 I am His own
13:14 And the joy we share
13:19 As we tarry there
13:26 None other has ever known
13:34 None other...
13:40 Thanks for watching and come back
13:42 with more requests next time.
