00:01 Welcome back
00:02 Liz in Battle Creek, Michigan
00:04 requested a gospel song that became popular.
00:07 When I was like a kid,
00:10 we've been singing and preaching this
00:12 for pretty long time,
00:13 but I know that God is aware of the time.
00:16 And, John, I still believe that Jesus is coming soon.
00:18 Amen. We'll sing this song.
00:26 Troublesome times are here Filling men's hearts with fear
00:31 Freedom we all hold dear Now is at stake
00:37 Humbling your hearts to God Saves from the chastening rod
00:42 Seek the way pilgrims trod Christians awake
00:48 Jesus is coming soon Morning or night or noon
00:54 Many will meet their doom Trumpets will sound
01:00 All of the dead shall rise Righteous meet in the skies
01:06 Going where no one dies Heavenward bound
01:17 Troubles will soon be o'er, Happy forevermore
01:23 When we meet on that shore, Free from all care
01:29 Rising up in the sky, Telling this world goodbye
01:35 Homeward we then shall fly, Glory to share
01:41 Jesus is coming soon Morning Or night or noon
01:46 Many will meet their doom Trumpets will sound
01:52 All of the dead shall rise Righteous meet in the skies
01:58 Going where no one dies Heavenward bound
02:02 Well, sing it again.
02:04 Jesus is coming soon Morning or night or noon
02:10 Many will meet their doom Trumpets will sound
02:15 All of the dead shall rise Righteous meet in the skies
02:21 Going where no one dies Heavenward bound
02:31 Amen!
02:33 That's an encouraging powerful message, right?
02:37 I got to include intro. That's a...
02:39 Thank you for that request. Yeah. Liz, thank you.
02:41 What a wonderful song. Yeah.
02:42 You know, here's another gospel request
02:45 written by a friend of mine.
02:46 I love the message in this song,
02:48 God wants to hear you sing.
02:57 Their chains Were fastened tight
03:01 Down at the jail that night
03:03 Still Paul and Silas Would not be dismayed
03:10 They said,
03:11 "IT'S time to lift our voice
03:14 Sing praises to the Lord
03:17 Let's prove that we will trust Him,
03:21 Come what may."
03:25 God wants to hear you sing
03:28 When the waves are crashing 'round you
03:32 When the fiery darts Surround you
03:35 When despair is all you see
03:39 God wants to hear your voice
03:42 When the wisest man has spoken
03:46 And says your circumstance is as hopeless as can be
03:53 That's when God wants to hear you sing
04:05 He loves to hear our praise
04:09 On our cheerful days
04:12 When the pleasant times
04:14 Outweigh the bad, by far
04:19 But when suffering comes along
04:23 And we still sing Him songs
04:27 Oh, that is when
04:29 We bless the Father's heart
04:34 God wants to hear you sing
04:38 When the waves are crashing 'Round you
04:42 When the fiery darts Surround you
04:46 When despair is all you see
04:50 God wants to hear your voice
04:54 When the wisest man has spoken
04:57 And says your circumstance is as hopeless as can be
05:04 That's when God wants to hear you sing
05:13 God wants to hear you sing
05:17 When the waves are crashing 'Round you
05:20 When the fiery darts Surround you
05:24 When despair is all you see
05:28 God wants to hear your voice
05:32 When the wisest man has spoken
05:36 And says your circumstance
05:38 Is as hopeless as can be
05:43 That's when God wants to hear you sing
05:58 You know it's easy to sing when everything's going great.
06:01 Wow.
06:02 But when things aren't going so great.
06:05 Wow. It's a...
06:07 That song really ministered to me.
06:08 Yeah, all right. It's good.
06:10 You know, it's a song that finds the fabric of humanity.
06:14 Right.
06:15 You know, it's like you said,
06:16 it's easy when the bank account is stable
06:18 and everything is fine in society
06:19 and your children are behaving better
06:21 and the dog doesn't tear up your pillow
06:22 when you leave the house.
06:24 And in the cynical places of life
06:27 is when Christianity becomes a thing
06:29 that now shows its real true character.
06:31 Right.
06:32 And there's so many stories in the Bible.
06:35 I've lived those experiences in so many ways
06:37 where, you know, it was like,
06:39 I remember pulling over years, years ago.
06:41 I remember I was going through a challenge in my life.
06:43 And I remember driving South on highway 57
06:46 and I pulled over on the side of the road.
06:48 I mean, I didn't even make it to the exit.
06:50 And I just started talking to the Lord
06:52 and tears were coming out of my eyes.
06:53 I said, Lord.
06:55 And I remember being once at church one evening,
06:57 it was a Wednesday night.
06:58 And I said, Lord,
07:00 I said to the people that were there,
07:01 "Do you ever feel like on your way to church,
07:03 you just wanna drive right by."
07:04 I said,
07:06 "That's how I feel right now. I need you to pray for me."
07:07 Wow.
07:08 And they gathered around me and prayed.
07:10 And so, it's that those moments that our songs really matter
07:12 and our sermons find roots in the ground.
07:15 So if you're going through stuff,
07:17 it's not unusual.
07:19 Jesus went through stuff. Right.
07:20 That's when God wants to hear you sing.
07:22 Yeah.
07:24 And you know, it's okay to be real with God.
07:25 It's okay to be honest
07:26 and admit those times
07:28 that you are feeling like you...
07:30 Just wanna keep going.
07:31 Keep on going, keep on driving by.
07:32 Right. But when that...
07:35 When that's done, give Him a little shout out,
07:38 you know, give Him a praise and let Him hear you sing.
07:42 And it's amazing what a song as well,
07:44 we know, you know
07:45 when we sing along on these programs,
07:47 I get so many comments saying how it is helping them
07:51 through troubled times,
07:52 helping them through situations in their own lives,
07:55 personal situations.
07:57 So, ah, that's,
07:58 I think God loves to hear sing.
08:01 That's right.
08:02 Well, let's sing the song that is a very familiar melody
08:06 and it says, I cannot tell why.
08:08 Okay.
08:17 I cannot tell
08:20 why He, whom angels worship
08:25 Should set His love
08:28 Upon the sons of men
08:33 Or why, as Shepherd He would seek the wand'rers
08:42 To bring them back
08:45 They know not how or when
08:50 But this I know,
08:54 That He was born of Mary
08:59 When Bethlehem's manger was His only home
09:07 And that He lived at Nazareth
09:14 And labored
09:18 And so the Savior,
09:21 Savior of the world, is come
09:30 I cannot tell
09:33 How silently He suffered
09:39 As with His peace
09:42 He graced this place of tears
09:48 Or how His heart
09:52 Upon the Cross was broken
09:58 The crown of pain
10:01 To three and thirty years
10:06 Tim.
10:08 But this I know,
10:11 He heals the broken-hearted
10:16 And stays our sin,
10:20 And calms our lurking fear
10:24 And lifts the burden
10:29 From the heavy laden
10:35 For still the Savior,
10:38 Of the world, is here
10:45 Sing this at home.
11:23 But this I know
11:27 All flesh shall see His glory
11:33 And He shall reap
11:37 The harvest He has sown
11:44 And some glad day
11:49 His sun will shall shine
11:52 In splendor
11:56 When He the Savior,
12:00 Savior of the world, is known
12:08 I cannot tell
12:12 How all the lands Shall worship
12:17 When, at His bidding,
12:21 Every storm is stilled
12:26 Or who can say how great
12:31 The jubilation
12:36 When every heart
12:39 With love and joy is filled
12:43 Sing, John.
12:45 But this I know,
12:49 The skies will thrill With rapture
12:55 And myriad,
12:58 Myriad human voices sing
13:04 And earth to heaven,
13:08 And heaven to earth,
13:11 Will answer
13:16 At last the Savior,
13:20 Savior of the world, is King
13:34 Amen. Amen.
13:37 Now that's got some powerful, powerful words.
13:39 The words just, it pulls you in,
13:41 it pulls you in.
13:43 But praise the Lord. Amen.
13:44 The story that we just walked through
13:46 is such a real story.
13:48 The Savior lives,
13:50 and one day myriads, myriads
13:52 will raise their voice in glory to His name.
13:54 Praise the Lord for that song.
13:55 We're gonna sing that one more, in church more.
13:57 That's another one we gotta remember
13:58 and thank you for that request.
13:59 Yeah, Very much so.
14:01 And thank you for this next request.
14:02 Occasionally songwriters will attempt to write a song
14:05 that answers the world's greatest questions.
14:09 Interestingly enough,
14:11 even though this song gives answers,
14:13 those answers only boggle the mind
14:16 causing us to wish we hadn't even asked,
14:18 but it's a grandiose thought
14:20 to contemplate how big God is.
14:24 And I think that the writer of this song
14:26 writes a pretty good picture.
14:28 How big is God?
14:29 Okay.
14:40 Though man may strive to go
14:46 Beyond the reach of space
14:50 To walk beyond
14:53 The distant shining stars
14:59 This world's a room so small
15:04 Within my Master's house
15:09 The open sky
15:12 Is but a portion of His yard
15:19 How big is God?
15:23 How big and wide
15:25 His vast domain
15:28 To try to tell these lips
15:33 Can only start
15:37 He's big enough to rule
15:42 The mighty universe
15:46 Yet small enough
15:50 To live within my heart
15:57 As winter's chill...
16:00 You wanna sing it?
16:01 May cause the tiny seed To fall
16:08 To lie asleep to wake
16:13 By summer's rain
16:18 The heart grown cold
16:22 Will warm and spark
16:25 With life anew
16:29 The Master's touch
16:33 Will bring the glow again
16:37 Tim.
16:39 How big is God?
16:44 How big and wide
16:46 His vast domain
16:50 To try to tell these lips
16:55 Can only start
17:00 He's big enough to rule
17:06 This mighty universe
17:11 Yet small enough
17:14 To live within my heart
17:21 He's big enough
17:25 To rule the mighty universe
17:32 Yet small enough
17:36 To live within my heart
17:49 Amen.
17:51 Wow. Those songs back to back.
17:52 That's powerful. I mean, that's just amazing.
17:55 The sky is just a portion of His yard,
17:57 and the world is just in my small space,
18:01 in my father's room.
18:03 That's amazing.
18:04 We serve an awesome God. Yes, we do.
18:06 You know what?
18:36 Soul, my Savior God to Thee
18:43 How great Thou art
18:49 How great Thou art
18:53 Then sings my soul
18:58 My Savior God to Thee
19:05 How great Thou art
19:10 How great Thou art
19:35 Send me a song Then you sing along with me
