00:21 Hello, and welcome to another 3ABN Christmas special.
00:25 And it wouldn't be a Christmas special
00:27 if we didn't have Reggie and Ladye Love Smith, right?
00:30 And we have to have Reggie and Ladye Love.
00:32 And Dr. Tim Parton.
00:33 Absolutely.
00:35 No question.
00:36 Now without Tim,
00:38 we wouldn't sound too good, right?
00:39 Well, no, you sound great.
00:41 It just wouldn't be as loud, something like that.
00:43 No.
00:45 So we want to thank you for joining us
00:46 as you do each and every day.
00:47 And as always, we want to thank you
00:49 for your love and your prayers and financial support of 3ABN.
00:52 This is a great time of year.
00:54 And to, oh, well, 24/7,
00:57 365 around the clock
01:00 is a great time to praise the Lord.
01:02 But especially this time of year
01:04 when ears are open that may never be listening
01:07 any other time.
01:08 And so we count it a privilege to be able,
01:11 and we have no idea where this program is going.
01:15 I mean, I just got little in between programs,
01:17 someone texts and said,
01:18 we're in a...
01:20 What was it, a weight lifting exercise place
01:24 in the Bahamas or St. Thomas, I think
01:27 and there's showed a picture
01:29 of Yvonne and me on that screen.
01:31 Then I remember when former president...
01:33 You were on treadmill. Yeah.
01:35 And former President Obama was in the prison Guantanamo,
01:40 and was in the prison and Reuters magazine
01:43 came out with a picture of him there visiting,
01:45 it showed the cell and the President,
01:48 then President walking by and behind him
01:50 upon the TV screen was CA Murray and myself
01:54 in Guantanamo Bay now,
01:56 so if it can be there can be anywhere, right?
01:58 Right. So you never know.
01:59 So we were glad that we're literally,
02:02 we're inviting you into our little set today
02:04 and our home and spend this time with us.
02:06 It's gonna be a time of cheer, time of happiness,
02:09 because we're talking about Jesus Christ,
02:12 who was...
02:13 All these songs will tell you born in a manger,
02:16 but he ends up as King of kings and Lord of lords.
02:20 Yes.
02:21 And, yes, I'm especially glad that
02:22 we're going to have Kris Wilkinson, and...
02:24 I know.
02:26 Oh, yeah, we got Emily Rodgers
02:27 and David Davidson that she's brought with them
02:29 and you all have worked.
02:30 Tell us about Kris?
02:32 I mean, Kris and I worked together
02:34 on one of the projects for 3ABN
02:36 and became fast friends.
02:38 When Kris' name is spoken in Nashville,
02:40 everybody listens.
02:41 Everybody knows who Kris is. She's wonderful.
02:43 And she plays on all the country CDs
02:46 and all the Christian app,
02:48 Nashville, certainly, all the movies.
02:49 Yeah.
02:51 So talented as a player,
02:52 and a producer, and a orchestrator.
02:55 So Kris is amazing.
02:56 And these guys she brought with them
02:58 are just number one.
02:59 Absolutely.
03:00 And Larry, her husband couldn't be here today.
03:02 But he's promised to come next time.
03:04 And because he had some other,
03:06 I'll call gigs going, all right?
03:08 One of his is Grand Ole Opry. He's making money.
03:10 The Opry, that's right.
03:12 He's the bass player for the Opry,
03:13 which Ladye Love used.
03:14 I used to go there and watch you and Larry.
03:16 So you were singing there with some other folks
03:18 that we know and we're have worked with.
03:20 That's always good.
03:21 So we're... I ought to be nervous.
03:23 We're surrounded by stars and Kris,
03:26 you know, people that know what they're doing.
03:28 Yeah, but Tim Parton, he's known around the world.
03:32 People will call us.
03:34 Yesterday, I got a call from a lady
03:37 who said, "You have surrounded yourself
03:40 with such great people."
03:41 And one of those she said was Tim Parton.
03:44 She said, "Reggie and Ladye Love,
03:46 Yvonne, and Greg and Jill."
03:47 She started naming them.
03:48 Like I said, "Well, hey,
03:50 that's what you're supposed to do."
03:51 Right? That's right.
03:53 It's a good leader.
03:54 When you need help the Lord will send it to you.
03:55 But any day, anyway, I hope that you just help us
03:57 celebrate today.
03:59 We're gonna have a lot of fun.
04:00 We're gonna try some things and we're not sure
04:01 how the program is going to end,
04:03 but we believe it's going to end good
04:06 'cause Jesus Christ is going to be the center
04:09 of this program and he should be the center
04:12 of our joy.
04:13 So what we'd like to do, we'd like to get Kris
04:15 and the players to do a song.
04:18 What are they going to do first?
04:19 It says Come O come Emmanuel. Yeah.
04:21 Then, I don't know where I got so much nerve.
04:24 But on this one song,
04:26 I'm going to pick up the guitar.
04:27 And, Reggie, I would like you to do rhythm.
04:29 Oh, my, okay. Right? Okay.
04:31 I got you.
04:32 Folks on 3ABN have seen him play piano,
04:35 probably not rhythm.
04:36 But with the Gaithers, I've seen you up front
04:38 doing rhythm guitar.
04:40 So we're going to go over and join the little group
04:42 just right after they do this song.
04:43 We're going to do joy to the world.
04:45 We have few people singing with us also.
04:48 Then after that, Reggie, you're going to do a new song.
04:51 Tell us about it?
04:52 This is a brand new song
04:53 written by Gloria Gaither and Benjy Gaither.
04:55 Benjy wrote the music and Miss Gloria wrote the song,
04:58 and this song was actually
05:00 on the brand new Gaither vocal band record
05:02 that just released Christmas CD.
05:05 I say record, it's not really record anymore.
05:08 It's project or CD,
05:09 it's not even CD anymore hardly.
05:10 Download it.
05:12 Right, download,
05:13 the new Gaither vocal band download.
05:15 You know, so you actually
05:16 download it last night, did you?
05:18 I did and I love it.
05:19 But anyway this is a special, special song that
05:20 Miss Gloria wrote in.
05:22 So I called Mr. Gaither and I said,
05:24 "Would it be okay if we were able to debut it here on 3ABN."
05:29 So he said, "Oh, I would love it,
05:30 it'd be great, great song."
05:32 Okay.
05:33 So if Mr. Bill is watching today,
05:36 I'm sure that he'll be pleased for sure.
05:39 So, okay, well why don't we,
05:41 We're gonna go to Kris right now,
05:43 Come, O Come Emmanuel.
08:15 Joy to the world!
08:17 The Lord has come!
08:20 Let earth receive her King
08:26 Let every heart prepare Him room
08:32 And heaven and nature sing
08:34 And heaven and nature sing
08:37 And heaven, and heaven,
08:40 And nature sing
08:45 Joy to the Earth!
08:47 The Savior reigns!
08:50 Let men their songs employ
08:56 While fields and floods
08:59 Rocks, hills, and plains
09:02 Repeat the sounding joy Repeat the sounding joy
09:07 Repeat, repeat the sounding joy
10:22 He rules the world
10:24 With truth and grace
10:27 And makes the nations prove
10:33 The glories of His righteousness
10:39 And wonders of His love And wonders of His love
10:44 And wonders, wonders,
10:48 Of His love
11:12 The road was dusty ruff and long
11:16 her labor pains were getting strong
11:21 Ends were full
11:23 As night closed in on them
11:29 Young Mary made it to a barn
11:33 Leaning hard on Joseph's arm
11:37 His coat and straw
11:40 Would make for her a bed
11:46 That night in Bethlehem
11:50 City of bread
11:54 Long promise bread of life was born
12:03 Brightest star and darkest night
12:07 Treasure at loss
12:11 The world and the bread of life
12:15 The manger and the cross
12:26 A wooden manger was his bead
12:31 A big bag of grain held his sweet head
12:35 The borrowed cave became his borrowed home
12:43 Some borrow neighbors came to see
12:47 This fragile babe eternity
12:52 Lying there
12:54 In Mary's arms awake
13:00 And did the carpenter
13:04 Feel the ruff wood
13:09 Was there in Mary's heart some pain
13:17 Brightest star and darkest night
13:21 Treasure at loss
13:25 The world and the bread of life
13:30 The manger and the cross
13:35 O come and place
13:40 A baby's face
13:43 Where all heaven
13:46 and her Dance in the light
13:52 All the hopes and fears
13:57 Of all the years
14:01 Are met in you
14:06 Tonight,
14:10 Tonight
14:14 Tender head and rugged wood
14:19 Deep as hunger's holy food
14:23 The breathe of God comes right to where we are
14:30 Oh, yes, that night in Bethlehem
14:35 City of bread
14:40 Long promise bread of life was born
14:48 Brightest glory, darkest night
14:52 Treasure at loss
14:56 The world and the holy seed
15:03 The world and the holy seed
15:09 The manger and the cross
15:32 We are blessed to throughout the year
15:34 meet wonderful people, musical talented people.
15:37 So if you have an opportunity
15:39 to watch the Praise Him channel,
15:41 you will be familiar with this next couple
15:43 that I'm going to introduce,
15:44 Jared and Hillary Mitchell.
15:46 Jared is the worship pastor
15:48 at the Roads Church in Norris City.
15:51 And I've asked them to come today
15:53 to sing a couple of beautiful songs.
15:54 I know you're going to love them.
15:56 They're beautiful people, wonderful friends.
15:58 I hope you enjoy these songs.
16:17 Oh, holy night!
16:20 The stars are brightly shining
16:26 It is the night
16:28 Of our dear Savior's birth
16:35 Long lay the world
16:39 In sin and error pining
16:44 Till he appeared
16:47 And the soul felt its worth
16:53 A thrill of hope
16:58 Yhe weary world rejoices
17:02 For yonder breaks
17:06 A new and glorious morn
17:10 Fall
17:13 On your knees!
17:18 Oh, hear
17:20 The angel voices
17:26 Oh, night
17:30 Divine
17:33 Oh, night
17:37 When Christ was born
17:41 Oh, night
17:46 Divine
17:50 Oh, night
17:54 Oh, night divine
18:13 Truly he taught us
18:17 To love one another
18:22 His law is love
18:24 And His gospel
18:27 Is peace
18:31 Chains shall he break
18:34 For the slave is our brother
18:39 And in His name,
18:42 All oppression shall cease
18:47 Sweet hymns of joy
18:51 In grateful chorus raise we
18:55 Let all within us
18:59 Praise His holy name
19:03 Christ is the Lord!
19:10 Oh, praise
19:13 His Name forever
19:18 His power
19:22 And glory
19:26 Vermore proclaim
19:33 His power
19:37 And glory
19:42 Evermore
19:46 Proclaim
20:06 Fall
20:08 On your knees!
20:13 Oh, hear
20:15 The angel voices
20:20 Oh, night
20:23 Divine
20:26 Oh, night
20:30 When Christ was born
20:33 Oh, night
20:38 Divine
20:45 Oh, night
20:51 Oh, night
20:54 Divine
21:30 Mary, did you know
21:34 That your baby boy
21:37 Would one day walk on water?
21:42 Mary, did you know
21:45 that your baby boy
21:48 Would save our sons and daughters?
21:53 Did you know
21:56 That your baby boy
21:59 Has come to make you new?
22:05 This child that you delivered
22:10 Will soon deliver you
22:15 Mary, did you know
22:19 That your baby boy
22:22 Would give sight to a blind man?
22:26 Mary, did you know
22:30 That your baby boy
22:33 Would calm the storm with his hand?
22:37 Did you know
22:40 That your baby boy
22:44 Has walked where angels trod?
22:48 And when you kiss
22:50 Your little baby
22:54 You kissed the face of God
22:58 Oh, Mary, did you know?
23:20 The blind will see The deaf will hear
23:25 The dead will live again
23:30 The lame will leap
23:33 The dumb will speak
23:35 The praises of the Lamb
23:44 Mary, did you know
23:49 That your baby boy
23:53 Is Lord of all creation?
23:57 Mary, did you know
24:00 That your baby boy
24:04 Would one day rule the nations?
24:08 Did you know
24:11 That your baby boy
24:14 Is heaven's perfect Lamb?
24:19 That sleeping child You're holding
24:24 Is the Great,
24:27 I Am
24:55 Amen.
24:56 It's great. That was beautiful.
24:58 So beautiful.
25:00 Their voices, they have such wonderful control.
25:02 Just pure and beautiful.
25:04 Yes, yes, their tones are so pure.
25:07 That's first time I met them.
25:08 So thank you for inviting them, and having him here.
25:11 I'm sure it won't be the last time.
25:13 They've been here before,
25:14 but first time on a Christmas program,
25:16 I think.
25:17 What we're going to do, we're going to do up tempo
25:19 thing just a little bit.
25:20 Is that all right? Okay. Yeah.
25:21 As you guys did a song I think last year,
25:23 year before sometime, but it's been,
25:25 I don't know when it was, but it's been long enough.
25:27 We want to hear it again.
25:29 At least 365 days. Yeah.
25:31 So maybe you could do a couple songs
25:33 while you trio sounds so great.
25:35 And it'll give me a chance to rest
25:36 my feet just a little bit.
25:39 And so we're just kind of go, go along.
25:41 And each of you know what you want to do,
25:43 our time just keeps getting away from us.
25:46 But I don't know about the rest of you.
25:48 But this, again, being with people,
25:51 and some of the talent that we've had,
25:53 we give God the glory for that.
25:55 I mean, nobody's taking the credit.
25:56 But if you look at these folk, every one of them,
25:59 they've done things around the world,
26:02 Kris and her group.
26:03 I mean, these are people
26:05 and this young couple,
26:07 I mean, these, they all could make
26:08 a great living in the world.
26:10 They really could if they really wanted to,
26:12 but praise God, they don't.
26:14 Yvonne, you're for one,
26:15 now you did make your living for many, many years.
26:18 I did. You were going to church.
26:20 I'm never gonna say...
26:22 I'm not gonna say, you stopped loving the Lord,
26:24 I think you always loved the Lord.
26:26 But you made some difficult decisions
26:28 when you were younger,
26:30 and some doors opened up for you.
26:32 As you were Yvonne, you know, Hodge growing up,
26:35 and then suddenly some doors opened up,
26:37 and then everybody's like,
26:38 whoa, that's, you know, Yvonne,
26:40 but you had to make some choices,
26:43 your music or the Lord?
26:46 I did. Tell us about it?
26:48 Well, for a long time,
26:50 I ended up kind of drifting away from the Lord.
26:54 It was a slow kind of process.
26:56 And I still prayed,
26:58 but I just didn't have the kind of relationship
27:01 with the Lord that I needed to have.
27:03 And little by little, I just slipped away.
27:06 And I remember, I was going through something
27:10 and a friend came to visit me
27:12 and she had a Living Bible with her.
27:15 And she handed
27:19 and she went back home.
27:21 And she sent me a verse,
27:23 because I was going through something at the time,
27:25 and it was from Philippians.
27:27 And it said, in the Living Bible,
27:28 don't worry about anything, instead, pray about everything.
27:32 Tell God your needs.
27:33 And don't forget to thank Him for His answers.
27:36 And if you do this,
27:38 you will experience God's peace,
27:39 which is more wonderful
27:41 than the human mind can understand.
27:43 And when I read that, I thought,
27:45 oh, like, that's what I need.
27:47 Like I had grown up with the King James Version,
27:50 which I ended up going back to.
27:52 But for a while, I just had the Living Bible,
27:55 and I was reading it and learning and all that.
27:58 So the Lord allowed me to go out,
28:02 but he drew me back.
28:03 And I'm so thankful in 1985, I came back to the Lord
28:07 and I have never regretted it.
28:10 It was the best decision I've ever made
28:13 to give my heart to Jesus.
28:14 And you might also
28:18 know that you need to do
28:19 something different in your life,
28:21 but you might not really know what it is.
28:23 If you don't know Jesus,
28:25 I'm telling you, that's what it is.
28:26 Missing peace. That's what it is.
28:28 That's what's missing.
28:29 So you can have all, I had money
28:31 and I had, you know it.
28:33 Why?
28:35 You know, I didn't really have fame
28:36 because I like being anonymous.
28:37 I was doing the jingles and so nobody knew me.
28:40 But if they read records credits.
28:43 When I was with her once
28:45 around a lot of the Hollywood people there,
28:47 "Hey, Yvonne, how are you doing?"
28:49 So I said, "Okay, I guessed it."
28:50 And we knew that voice on commercials.
28:52 Well, well. Praise the Lord.
28:53 But the thing for me was just reaching out
28:59 to the Lord or actually having Him
29:01 reach out to me and just responding
29:04 and knowing that this is a decision
29:07 that is life changing.
29:08 My life's never been the same since.
29:11 Never, I mean, how can you compare
29:13 singing for the world
29:15 about Charmin bathroom tissue?
29:20 You know, well, that's true.
29:22 Now, that's true.
29:23 But I mean, I'm just saying like
29:25 how can you compare singing for Jesus
29:27 and telling the world about
29:29 how good he is versus singing,
29:33 you know about stuff that is not as important.
29:37 We meet young people a lot of places
29:40 when we're traveling, but they're wanting,
29:43 trying so hard.
29:45 And they're singing in the church
29:46 and got great talent, but they want
29:47 so hard to be known.
29:49 So they go every where they can
29:51 because they want that break, to get into show business,
29:55 the entertainment business, and they all say,
29:58 "Well, I can be a Christian.
30:00 You know that I want to serve the Lord,
30:02 I want to be a Christian,
30:03 but I want to be out and do these things."
30:06 And, of course, if you've watched
30:08 her interviews with Little Richard,
30:09 he tells you if that's impossible for him
30:12 when he was there, and he says,
30:14 you know, you're just drawn so far away,
30:17 that he said, I did things that,
30:19 you know, I never even really want to talk about.
30:22 I always knew there was a God,
30:23 I always knew I wanted to serve Him,
30:25 but I chose the world first.
30:28 And so then Little Richard before he passed away,
30:31 and we knew him for several years
30:32 talk to him quite often every other week or so.
30:35 All he wanted to talk about was Jesus.
30:37 That's right.
30:38 And I mean consistent
30:39 because there's where his peace was,
30:41 his health wasn't good.
30:42 I mean, I'm sure everybody around him knew,
30:47 he couldn't live long, much longer on this earth.
30:50 But he still was positive, he still talked about the Lord.
30:54 And up until the last few months,
30:56 every day, they would come to his room,
30:58 put him in a wheelchair, take him out,
31:00 put him in a car, drive him in Nashville,
31:03 he lived in Nashville, and he'd roll the windows down
31:05 and hand out Steps to Christ to people.
31:07 That's right.
31:08 He said, "This is what's important."
31:10 He was counteracting what he had done
31:12 so many years before the message
31:14 that he had given to people.
31:15 Yes, yes.
31:17 So somebody is looking at now, young person now,
31:18 Yvonne has seven gold and platinum records.
31:20 That's quite an achievement in the music industry.
31:23 But somebody's saying, "Boy,
31:25 I really want to get out there."
31:26 What do you tell them compared then to now?
31:29 There's actually no comparison
31:31 because you cannot,
31:33 the richness of knowing Jesus doesn't...
31:37 There's nothing that compares with that.
31:40 Wealth and money, once you get that,
31:42 you say to yourself, now what?
31:45 Now what, what's next?
31:47 Because it doesn't satisfy that hold that's in your soul.
31:51 Only Jesus can fill that spot.
31:54 And so for you,
31:56 who, those of you who want to kind of dabble
31:59 out there.
32:00 I wish I could just tell you and you would hear me that
32:03 there's nothing out there.
32:05 It's all like, like,
32:07 what are they call it like mirrors?
32:10 Yeah. Smoke and mirrors.
32:12 It's not real.
32:14 The devil makes you think that it's so great.
32:17 I know people who were so wealthy and famous,
32:21 who were so miserable.
32:23 They were so miserable
32:25 and lonely and just had no life.
32:28 Jesus said,
32:30 "I've come that you might have life,
32:32 and that you might have it more abundantly."
32:35 This is the abundant life.
32:38 This is the life that you should seek.
32:40 Just try Jesus. That's all.
32:43 If you try Him
32:44 and he doesn't satisfy your soul.
32:46 Okay, I challenge you today to try Jesus.
32:50 Well, speaking of that, there's only one real star.
32:53 Come on. Right?
32:55 Come on now. All right.
32:56 How's that for segue?
32:57 You guys are gonna sing about it.
32:59 All right?
33:02 That's good.
33:03 Like this song, this is good.
33:13 Over mountains and valleys
33:16 They led him each night
33:19 A star of most radiant light
33:24 The wise men rejoiced
33:27 As they journeyed afar
33:29 To behold such a beautiful star
33:35 When they saw the star
33:37 They rejoiced with great joy
33:41 When they saw the star
33:43 They rejoiced
33:46 When they saw the star
33:48 They rejoiced with great joy
33:51 They rejoiced with exceeding great joy
33:57 When they saw the star
33:59 They rejoiced with great joy
34:02 When they saw the star they rejoiced
34:08 When they saw the star
34:10 They rejoiced with great joy
34:13 They rejoiced with exceeding great joy
34:18 Other saw the star but they followed it not
34:24 To them it would come and would pass
34:29 The wise men kept trusting with all of their hearts
34:34 That the star would find the Baby at last
34:39 When they saw the star
34:42 They rejoiced with great joy
34:46 When they saw the star they rejoiced
34:51 When they saw the star
34:53 They rejoiced with great joy
34:56 They rejoiced with exceeding great joy
35:02 When they saw the star
35:04 They rejoiced with great joy
35:07 When they saw the star they rejoiced
35:13 When they saw the star
35:15 They rejoiced with great joy
35:17 They rejoiced with exceeding great joy
35:23 When they saw the star They rejoiced with great joy
35:29 When they saw the star they rejoiced
35:34 When they saw the star They rejoiced with great joy
35:39 They rejoiced with exceeding great joy
35:45 Great joy
35:47 They rejoiced
35:49 with exceeding great joy Joy!
36:01 Amen.
36:03 More, more.
36:04 So much fun.
36:05 Oh, man.
36:07 But Danny said he is the star.
36:08 He is.
36:09 He is the star. I know it. He is.
36:11 Yvonne, there's a song that I love growing up to sing.
36:15 It was called away in a manger.
36:17 And it's one of my favorites, I don't know about yours.
36:19 I love away in a manger.
36:21 What about you, Ladye Love?
36:22 I love it.
36:24 Okay.
36:25 I think we're gonna start in G and try, okay?
36:26 Okay. Here we go.
36:35 Away in a manger
36:40 No crib for a bed
36:44 The little Lord Jesus
36:49 Laid down His sweet head
36:53 The stars in the sky
36:58 Looked down where he lay
37:03 The little Lord Jesus
37:08 Asleep on the hay
37:17 The cattle are lowing
37:22 The Baby awakes
37:27 But little Lord Jesus
37:31 No crying
37:33 He makes I love You,
37:39 Lord Jesus
37:41 Look down from the sky
37:46 And stay by my cradle
37:51 Till morning is nigh
38:02 Be near me, Lord Jesus
38:07 I ask You to stay
38:12 Close by me forever
38:17 And love me
38:19 I pray
38:22 Bless all the dear children
38:27 In Thy tender care
38:31 And take us to heaven
38:37 To live with You there
39:02 Amen. Beautiful.
39:04 Amen.
39:06 Thank you.
39:08 So, I think it was about
39:12 maybe two years ago, Tim,
39:17 I called you and I said,
39:19 "Tim, the Lord gave me these lyrics
39:22 and can you put a melody to it?"
39:25 And you send back
39:27 such a beautiful melody to this song
39:30 because we were talking about, I was thinking,
39:33 when, in my worship room,
39:35 I was thinking about how so many people feel like,
39:40 they don't get anything for Christmas.
39:42 They're lonely, they're displaced.
39:45 They're feeling like, I have no one who loves me.
39:50 And so I asked the Lord to give me a song.
39:55 And then I reached out to you.
39:58 I mean, he just gave me these lyrics
40:00 and I'm thankful and then I reached out to you,
40:02 and you sent the song back, the melody back
40:06 and it's just beautiful.
40:07 So I'd like for us to do that now.
40:10 What did you think, Tim, when I send you that?
40:13 Oh, I love the lyrics.
40:14 Of course, I love your heart,
40:16 and it's wonderful to work with people
40:18 in co-writing as you might call that.
40:20 Yes.
40:22 When you know that person,
40:23 you know where they're coming from,
40:24 you know, they have such a pure heart.
40:26 And the lyrics, of course,
40:27 came from your time of about something that
40:30 God had spoken to you about like you said,
40:32 so that it was not difficult
40:36 in my opinion to come up with this.
40:40 Just to do what God gives me
40:42 and he blessed you with your writing
40:44 because I can hardly speak well,
40:46 much less write things down.
40:49 So music is my thing and paired with your lyrics
40:53 is a beautiful song and I love,
40:55 I love the message in the song.
40:57 Praise the Lord.
40:59 So we hope you enjoy it as well.
41:14 I thought I had no gift
41:17 When I looked under the tree
41:22 But then I heard a voice that said
41:26 You didn't think of Me
41:31 For I'm the greatest gift you have
41:35 I'll meet your every need
41:40 Just place your life into my hand
41:44 I'll help you to succeed
41:52 The greatest gift you'll ever get
41:57 Is right here in your heart
42:01 he will comfort, guide and teach you
42:06 You will never be apart
42:10 And if you give your heart to him
42:14 You'll never wander again
42:20 For he is the best and greatest gift
42:24 God ever gave to man
42:29 Yes, Jesus is the greatest gift
42:33 God ever gave to man
43:06 'Cause Jesus is the greatest gift
43:10 God ever gave to man
43:16 Yes, Jesus is the greatest gift
43:22 God ever
43:25 gave to man
43:36 Amen. It's beautiful.
43:38 Beautiful. Basically, thank you, Tim.
43:40 You're gonna give us a Christmas medley?
43:42 I think I'll just play a little bit here.
43:43 All right? Thank you.
43:45 It's good.
47:03 Amen.
47:05 Tim, that was absolutely beautiful.
47:07 Thank you. I met...
47:08 Yvonne come up here for a second, would you?
47:11 I've been around a lot of musicians
47:13 for, you know, over 40 years.
47:15 And I started producing records in Nashville in early '80s.
47:19 And so where did you go there?
47:21 Where did you go? There you go, okay.
47:23 And I just want to let you know that honestly,
47:27 I've never met a musician,
47:29 as literally as talented as you are,
47:32 but not only the talent God's given you,
47:34 but his humility.
47:36 He, Tim, and he's so...
47:39 he hates when we do this 'cause,
47:41 you know, we kind of put him on the spot.
47:43 But I do work with musicians from all over.
47:49 And Tim is just at the top of the list, I just...
47:52 And his spirit, if you need anything,
47:56 Tim will go and get it if he's not a diva or divo.
48:01 You know, he's just got such a spirit of humility.
48:06 And that's a Christ like spirit.
48:08 That's what the Lord would have us to have.
48:09 And so we just so love you, Tim.
48:12 We really do, we love and appreciate you.
48:15 You're ready to get him, put him on the spot.
48:16 Well, no, a little bit of his testimony,
48:20 but it's not an accident
48:22 that you love gospel music, you got an early start, right?
48:25 Tell us a little bit about you? You know what?
48:27 So my mother tells,
48:30 told the story that she prayed for a piano player.
48:36 That's exactly right.
48:38 So, you know, if you have a praying mother,
48:43 you are a blessed person, a blessed child.
48:47 And so I had no choice.
48:50 You know, because if mama prayed for it,
48:52 then, yeah, it was done.
48:55 And so then whenever I was born,
48:57 but they had purchased a piano for my sister,
49:01 and she didn't take to it.
49:03 Well, you know, I'm just kind of,
49:05 I have one of those obligated spirits.
49:08 So I've... so I was, I had to do it.
49:11 But I've crawled up on piano
49:13 when I was like three years old.
49:15 I started just, you know, play in a way
49:16 and but, yeah, my mom and dad
49:19 sang gospel music.
49:20 My sister sang with them.
49:22 It was the Parton trio at the time.
49:24 And they sang great southern gospel music.
49:27 So, yeah, that was what was going on.
49:31 You know, I didn't have any lullabies.
49:33 They were singing great hymns, and wonderful
49:36 that I was in church all the time.
49:38 I'm sure you studied music
49:40 and all of that to play it right?
49:42 Tell me a little about that?
49:43 Well, when I was six and seven, both of those years,
49:47 I took a little bit of piano.
49:49 And actually I would learn, I would go to the piano lesson.
49:53 I would have the piano teacher play the song,
49:56 the next lesson for me,
49:58 and I would memorize it right there from.
50:01 God blessed me with such a good ear.
50:03 And, you know, all glory to Him for that.
50:05 But except for the fact that
50:08 whenever I came back to the piano lesson,
50:11 I would play the lesson just back what I remember.
50:15 What you heard instead of what you read.
50:17 Exactly. Instead of what I read.
50:18 Yeah.
50:19 And that what happened
50:21 was I played it back in the wrong key.
50:22 Oh, that's whenever the... Oh, she knew.
50:25 You know what?
50:26 And told my, told my mom,
50:28 you know, there's no reason in giving him lessons,
50:32 because he's just,
50:34 you know, he's not paying attention,
50:35 he's not reading the notes.
50:36 So, you know, earlier whenever Chris
50:40 had, he gave me this, this piece of paper here
50:43 that had the music on it.
50:45 You talk about nervous, I was sweating.
50:49 Because I can read a little bit
50:50 because later on in my years in high school band,
50:53 I played the oboe and the tuba, and the cymbals.
50:58 But, so that wouldn't really help.
51:01 But the, so it was...
51:03 Especially here. Yeah.
51:05 Yeah, especially here.
51:08 So I learned a lot of music theory
51:10 through my high school.
51:11 So I'm very blessed to have been
51:13 in the public school system, where I was learning music,
51:17 learning how to read.
51:18 But as far as what I play here, I play just play by ear.
51:23 And that, but that's, that's okay.
51:25 It's just like something great that you do,
51:28 you know, or if you I've always said
51:29 if you bake it, bake a cherry pie
51:31 or, you know, I guess
51:33 other than playing the piano, I always say I'm half ignorant.
51:39 Not true, the best part of his humble spirit
51:42 that we've been talking about.
51:43 The point is, you could be playing,
51:47 you know, you could have been playing
51:48 anywhere basically you wanted to,
51:51 but that just, and I've known you
51:52 a lot of years that never seems to bend your desire
51:55 to go outside the realm of gospel music,
51:59 doesn't mean you wouldn't play a song here and there,
52:01 but as far as trying to make a living
52:02 or be out in the world or to be famous,
52:05 you've never really searched for that.
52:07 And you're happy, you're content.
52:08 And the thing is, God has opened doors for me
52:12 within the Christian realm
52:14 that with Christian family groups or quartets.
52:17 So I've never had to look elsewhere for work.
52:20 And again, just haven't, like you say,
52:22 I really haven't had the desire.
52:23 So I think the key is my parents instilled in me
52:28 to put God first
52:30 and he would give you the desires of your heart,
52:32 and in fact I think he'll make the desires,
52:35 he'll give you the desires that He wants
52:38 you to have in your heart.
52:39 And I'm okay with that.
52:41 Absolutely. He's been good to me.
52:42 So you worked hard.
52:44 You've always worked, you worked tremendously hard.
52:47 So nothing comes for without working for.
52:50 So God gave you the gifts, but you honed it,
52:53 you've dedicated it to him, and look what has happened.
52:55 I'm very blessed.
52:56 And so what we like to do, we got a time for...
52:58 We got to make time for one more song.
52:59 This is one of our every favorite songs ever,
53:03 Ordinary Baby.
53:04 We love it.
53:06 Tell us about it.?
53:07 He was just
53:09 An ordinary baby
53:15 That's the way
53:17 He planned it, maybe
53:21 Anything less than common
53:25 would have kept Him apart
53:30 From the children
53:34 that he came to rescue
53:39 Limited to some elite few
53:44 When he was the only Child
53:48 Who asked to be born
53:55 And he came to us
53:58 With eyes wide open
54:02 Knowing how we're hurt
54:05 And broken
54:08 Choosing to partake
54:12 Of all our joy
54:16 And pain
54:19 He was just
54:22 An ordinary baby
54:27 That's the way
54:29 He planned it, maybe
54:34 So that we could come to Him
54:38 And not be afraid
54:49 He was ordinary
54:54 With exception
54:58 Of miraculous conception
55:03 Both His birth and death
55:06 He planned from the start
55:12 But between His entrance
55:17 And His exit
55:21 Was a life that has affected
55:27 Everyone who's walked the earth
55:31 To this very day
55:38 And with no airs
55:41 Of condescension
55:46 He became
55:48 God's pure extension
55:52 Giving you and me
55:56 The chance to be remade
56:03 He was just
56:06 An ordinary baby
56:11 That's the way
56:13 He planned it, maybe
56:18 So that we could come to Him
56:21 And not be afraid
56:30 So that we could come to Him
56:35 And not be afraid
56:47 He was just
56:51 An ordinary baby
57:04 Absolutely beautiful. Oh, it's so beautiful.
57:07 Can't really add anything to that,
57:10 except that we're gonna have to say
57:11 goodbye to our folks.
57:13 Thank you so much for coming.
57:14 And of course, Kris and Mitchells,
57:16 and everybody and, Tim,
57:17 thank you for the hard work that you do to help us
57:20 sound us good as we can possibly sound.
57:22 For those of you at home, again, thank you for your love
57:24 and prayers and financial support of 3ABN.
57:28 Remember, Jesus loves you.
57:29 Our time is all gone.
57:31 Until we see you next time,
57:32 may the Lord richly bless you abundantly
57:34 more than you could ever ask or think.
