00:01 Gloria,
00:07 in excelsis Deo. 03:14 Thank you Amy, Joshua, and Michael for that beautiful music 03:18 called, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel. 03:20 Emmanuel is a word that is used in Hebrew to mean, 03:24 God is with us. 03:25 And don't we want God to be with us and in us? 03:28 Do you remember that Jesus is part of the Godhead, 03:31 yet He was willing to come as a baby? 03:33 He had the humblest of beginnings, to be born in 03:36 a stable intended for animals and a manger for a bed; 03:40 how Satan wanted to prevent the birth 03:42 of our Savior, Jesus Christ. 03:45 Yet in Satan's heart grew plans to prevent baby Jesus 03:49 from being the Savior of the world. 03:51 How could someone want to hurt this precious innocent Baby 03:55 sleeping away in a manger? 03:56 Sam, will you sing, Away in a Manger, for us? 04:15 Away in a manger, no crib for a bed, 04:22 the little Lord Jesus lay down His sweet head. 04:30 The stars in the sky look down where He lay, 04:37 the little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay. 05:01 The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes; 05:09 the dawn of salvation beginning to break. 05:16 I worship You, Jesus, a gift from above; 05:24 the King of the heavens forever with us. 05:47 I'll worship You, Jesus, for all of my days; 05:55 the highest of praises be unto Your name. 06:03 I love Thee, Lord Jesus, my King and my Friend; 06:11 Yours is the glory, forever amen. 06:19 Yours is the glory, forever amen. 06:27 Yours is the glory, forever amen. 06:49 Amen. 06:58 I like the verse in this song that says, 07:00 "Be near me, Lord Jesus. 07:02 I ask Thee to stay close by me forever, 07:05 and love me, I pray. 07:06 Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care, 07:09 and take us to heaven to live with Thee there." 07:13 Jesus wants to stay close to you and bless you 07:16 so that you can be in heaven with Him. 07:19 Jesus came to bring peace into the world. 07:21 And everything may have seemed quiet and still for a time 07:24 in that little town of Bethlehem 07:26 that John Harley, Kenley, and Nia will sing for us. 07:43 O little town of Bethlehem, 07:49 how still we see thee lie; 07:54 above thy deep and dreamless sleep 07:59 the silent stars go by. 08:04 Yet in thy dark streets shineth 08:10 the everlasting light; 08:15 the hopes and fears of all the years 08:20 are met in thee tonight. 08:30 For Christ is born of Mary 08:36 and gathered all above; 08:41 while mortals sleep, the angels keep 08:46 their watch of wondering love. 08:51 O morning stars together 08:56 proclaim the holy birth, 09:01 and praises sing to God the King 09:06 and peace to man on earth. 09:11 And peace to man on earth. 09:26 O holy Child of Bethlehem, 09:32 descend to us, we pray; 09:36 cast out our sin and enter in, 09:42 be born in us today. 09:47 We hear the Christmas angels 09:52 the great glad tidings tell; 09:57 O come to us, abide with us, 10:02 our Lord Immanuel. 10:19 O come to us, abide with us, our Lord Immanuel. 10:24 Jesus wants to live in your heart. 10:25 Will you make room for Jesus to live in your heart? 10:29 Logan has a message that he would like to share with us. 10:32 What do you have for us, Logan? 10:36 I'm sure that most of you have either read or seen the movie, 10:39 How the Grinch Stole Christmas. 10:42 If so, you'll remember that everyone in 10:45 Whoville loved Christmas, except for one. 10:48 And that is the Grinch. 10:50 The Grinch hated Christmas, 10:52 and he wanted to spoil the joy for everybody. 10:55 So one night he decided to steal Christmas. 10:58 One night he dressed up as Santa Clause 11:01 and went into the town and stole their presents, 11:04 their food, their trees; and he stole Christmas. 11:08 What a terrible thing to do. 11:11 Do you know why the Grinch did this? 11:13 Well, according to the story, his heart was way too small. 11:17 He hated looking around and seeing everyone enjoy Christmas 11:21 and having Christmas love and joy, 11:24 and finding out that he can't have that love 11:26 and that joy on Christmas. 11:29 He tried to do this to Whoville, but as you know, 11:32 it did not work. 11:34 Because Whoville remembered that Christmas isn't about the 11:37 presents, the food, the tree, the decorations, 11:41 but it's about the heart and the love that we have in our hearts. 11:45 Although this story is not a true story, 11:49 but there is a true story. 11:51 And how the Grinch stole Christmas, this person stole the 11:55 very first Christmas. 11:57 And he was a king, and his name was King Herod. 12:01 After Jesus was born, the Wiseman came from the east 12:05 to Jerusalem. 12:06 On the way, they ran into King Herod. 12:10 They told him about this Baby, 12:12 and they were wanting to worship Him 12:14 so that He could become King. 12:16 Immediately, King Herod got jealous. 12:19 He was mad. 12:20 He was scared that there was another king coming. 12:23 And so he told the Wiseman, to trick them, 12:26 "I want you to go to Jesus, and tell me where He is. 12:31 And then I'll come and worship Him too." 12:34 The truth is, Herod didn't want to meet Jesus. 12:37 He wanted to kill Him. 12:40 Why? 12:41 Perhaps Herod's heart was too small. 12:44 And maybe he was selfish, who was so selfish and jealous 12:48 of Jesus that he was scared that His popularity 12:52 would take over him, and that Jesus could even take over 12:56 his kingdom. 12:57 He was so afraid, that he wanted to destroy Jesus, 13:02 just like the Grinch wanted to destroy Christmas. 13:07 After all, King Herod's plan did not work. 13:10 An angel came to the Wiseman 13:12 and he told them about Herod's plan. 13:15 So then they realized that they couldn't go back to him. 13:19 So they took another route back home 13:21 and they didn't meet up with Herod. 13:23 And then the angel also went to Joseph, 13:26 and he told him Herod's plan. 13:28 And so, Joseph and his family got up and they went to Egypt. 13:33 And they waited for God to tell them when it was 13:35 safe to come back. 13:37 This story is found in the Bible. 13:39 It is found in Matthew 2:13. 13:42 It says, "After the Wiseman were gone, 13:46 an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. 13:50 'Get up, and flee to Egypt with the Child 13:53 and His mother,' the angel said. 13:55 'Stay there until I tell you to return, 13:58 because Herod is going to try and kill your Child.'" 14:04 And so we see that since the very first Christmas, 14:08 grinchs have been trying to steal your Christmas joy. 14:12 Maybe even grinchs today might be stealing your Christmas joy. 14:16 But remember, that will never work 14:19 unless your heart is too small. 14:21 When Jesus is in our hearts, we will want to share His love 14:25 to everyone. 14:26 This is Christmas. 14:30 Thank you, Logan, for your message. 14:33 We do want to keep our hearts big enough for the 14:36 love of Jesus to shine through. 14:38 Part of having a heart for Jesus means that we share His 14:41 love and message of salvation with those around us. 14:44 If we truly have the love of Jesus in our hearts, 14:47 we would equally want to tell everyone. 14:51 We would be excited to study His Word 14:53 and listen for His teachings. 14:55 Perhaps we could ask others, do you hear what I hear? 15:09 Said the night wind to the little lamb, 15:14 "Do you see what I see? 15:19 Way up in the sky, little lamb, 15:24 Do you see what I see? 15:29 A star, a star dancing in the night 15:34 with a tail as big as a kite, 15:39 with a tail as big as a kite." 15:52 Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy, 15:57 "Do you hear what I hear? 16:02 Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy, 16:07 Do you hear what I hear? 16:12 A song, a song high above the trees 16:17 with a voice as big as the sea, 16:22 with a voice as big as the sea." 16:32 Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king, 16:38 "Do you know what I know? 16:43 In your palace warm, mighty king, 16:48 Do you know what I know? 16:52 A Child, a Child shivers in the cold. 16:57 Let us bring Him silver and gold, 17:02 let us bring Him silver and gold." 17:10 Said the king to the people everywhere, 17:15 "Listen to what I say. 17:20 Pray for peace, people everywhere. 17:25 Listen to what I say. 17:30 A Child, a Child sleeping in the night, 17:35 He will bring us goodness and light, 17:43 He will bring us goodness 17:50 and light. 18:07 It's too bad that not everyone who hears about Jesus 18:10 feels the same way. 18:12 Perhaps their hearts are too small because of their 18:15 selfishness, like King Herod's heart was. 18:18 Yet, that should never discourage us from doing 18:20 our part, like the Wiseman who came bearing gifts. 18:25 Amy, Michale, and Josh, will you bring your gift of music 18:28 by playing, We Three Kings? 20:27 We often say there were three of them, 20:30 yet the Bible only says that there were Wiseman. 20:32 Perhaps there were more of them. 20:34 They had studied the stars and knew that they had to find 20:37 the promised Messiah; 20:38 looking for Him first in the palace, only to realize 20:41 this special Baby was far from the palace walls. 20:45 Have you found Jesus? 20:46 Is there something you can do to help others 20:49 that shows you have a heart for Jesus? 20:51 What can you say to tell them about the holy infant Jesus? 20:56 Jesus was born for you, so is your heart big enough? 21:26 Infant holy, Infant lowly, 21:31 for His bed a cattle stall. 21:37 Oxen lowing, little knowing 21:42 Christ the Babe is Lord of all. 21:48 Swiftly winging, angels singing, 21:53 noels ringing, tidings bringing. 21:59 Christ the Babe is Lord of all. 22:04 Christ the Babe is Lord of all. 22:31 Flocks were sleeping, shepherds keeping 22:36 vigil till the morning dew 22:41 saw the glory, heard the story, 22:47 tidings of the gospel true. 22:52 Thus rejoicing, free from sorrow, 22:58 praises voicing greet the morrow. 23:03 Christ the Babe was born for you. 23:09 Christ the Babe was born for you. 23:16 Thus rejoicing, free from sorrow, 23:22 praises voicing greet the morrow. 23:27 Christ the Babe was born for you. 23:51 Jesus was born for you. 23:53 So is your heart big enough to have the love of Jesus in it? 23:56 It all started on that first Christmas night. 24:09 Noel. 24:17 The first Noel the angel did say, 24:25 was to certain poor shepherds in fields where they lay; 24:35 in fields where they lay keeping their sheep, 24:42 on a cold winter's night that was so deep. 24:52 Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, 25:01 born is the King of Israel. 25:08 Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, 25:16 born is the King of Israel. 25:30 Noel. 25:41 They looked up and saw a star 25:49 shining in the east, beyond them far. 25:59 And to the earth it gave great light; 26:07 and so it continued both day and night. 26:16 Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, 26:25 born is the King of Israel. 26:32 Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, 26:40 born is the King born is the King, 26:48 born is the King of Israel. 26:59 Noel. Noel. 27:07 Noel. 27:14 Noel. 27:23 Jesus is the King of the universe, 27:25 and yet loves you so much that He was willing to come 27:28 as a precious Baby so that we could always be with Him. 27:33 Do you love Jesus? 27:34 Have you asked Him to live in your heart? 27:36 Maybe even today? 27:38 I have, and it's the best decision I ever made. 27:42 I hope all of you watching made that decision too. 27:45 Jesus may have been born in a stable, 27:48 yet He wants to live in your heart. 27:50 He loves you so much that He is preparing 27:52 a beautiful home for us. 27:54 I can't wait. Can you? 27:56 Just keep your heart big enough to have Jesus 27:59 living in your heart today and always. 28:03 Gloria, 28:10 in excelsis Deo. 28:14 Gloria, 28:21 in excelsis Deo. |
