So we'll roll that. 05:05 How do we know that the Bible is true? 05:08 How many of you read your Bible's today? 05:11 Some of you just read it a few minutes ago, 05:12 I mean, before the scripture reading. 05:14 Good for you, bless your heart. 05:16 We're gonna try to read the Bible everyday, 05:18 because we found out if you taste you will, 05:21 for yourself you'll find out that God is good, 05:24 and the Bible is true. 05:26 One of the great evidences of the truth of the Bible, 05:29 it changes lives not only that, 05:32 the prophecies in the Bible that God has made come true. 05:36 And so when God tells us the future 05:38 and everything He foretells happens, 05:40 then we realize that it's the truth, that God is real. 05:44 And so there is so much evidence 05:46 in the Bible scientifically, historically, prophetically, 05:50 the greatest evidence is it works. 05:53 How many of you when you went to school, 05:54 you used the multiplication table, 05:56 you ever used the multiple-- let me see your hands. 05:59 Why do you use the multiplication table? 06:02 Because it works, right? 06:05 And the reason we read the Bible is and believe it, 06:08 it's true, it works that's why it's been 06:10 the best selling book for. 06:12 Well since Moses started writing 3,500 years ago, 06:16 I think that's pretty good evidence. 06:18 Well, Pastor Doug, here's proof 06:19 that there really is a storm brewing right above us, 06:22 I see some water drops landing on our mystery chest. 06:26 Our mystery chest may go up in smoke if it shots out, 06:30 but we'll just keep praying. 06:32 All right, we have another question 06:33 somebody wrote in, this is Star, 06:35 he is in the 5th grade and here's his question. 06:38 "How old are you? My mom loves your speeches." 06:43 Well, now my name is Pastor Batchelor, 06:45 but I'm a married Batchelor just let mom know that, 06:48 I'm sure she didn't mean anything by that. 06:50 But I'm, I forget, I'm 51-years-old 06:54 and the older you get the more you forget who old you are. 06:58 All right, well, good, we have another 06:59 video question at this time so we'll role that. 07:02 My name is Stephen of Lauderdale 07:04 and I'm 9-years-old, my question is, 07:06 did the Lord invent dinosaurs? 07:10 Did the Lord invent dinosaurs? 07:12 I think, he's asking, of course, 07:13 did the Lord create dinosaurs? 07:16 Well, how many of you have seen 07:17 pictures of dinosaur bones? 07:20 And you've maybe seeing anything from Barney cartoons 07:23 to all kinds of things about dinosaurs. 07:26 I grew up in New York city across the street 07:30 from a very famous museum 07:31 called The American Museum of Natural History, 07:34 and ever since I could remember, 07:36 I was your age, I'd go back then, 07:37 you could go for free, at least kids could. 07:40 And I'd look at all of these great big dinosaur bones, 07:42 the evidence for dinosaur is all over the world 07:45 and I believe there were dinosaurs. 07:48 I don't think the artist paint them very well, 07:49 they make them all look like their skin 07:51 was kind of gray elephant color, 07:53 that's because from bones we don't know 07:55 what the color of their skin was, they may have been 07:57 very beautiful patterns on their, their skin. 08:00 But dinosaurs really lived, 08:02 the problem is that you've often heard a fairytale 08:06 about the age of the dinosaurs. 08:08 The dinosaurs, those are big reptiles, 08:11 they lived before the time of the flood, 08:14 during the days of Noah, and Adam, 08:16 but God made all kinds of different creatures. 08:18 We got some little dinosaurs today, 08:20 they're called Komodo dragons, 08:22 as matter of fact, you'll hear about 08:24 that in your lesson tonight when you get your lesson. 08:27 All right, here's another question that Megan sent in, 08:30 she's in 4th grade and her question is, 08:32 "What is your favorite story in the Bible?" 08:35 You know, I saw that question before the program 08:37 and I was having problems thinking about it. 08:39 Because I tell you, 08:40 one of my favorite stories is the story of Joseph, 08:44 Joseph who is mistreated by his brothers, 08:46 sold like a slave by his own brothers, 08:50 spent years as a slave 08:51 and then he falsely accused and imprisoned. 08:53 And he never stop trusting God, 08:56 and because he was faithful in his youth 08:59 and he did what his father on earth 09:01 and his Father in heaven asked him. 09:03 And one day he went from the prison to the place 09:06 because he was faithful in little things, 09:08 God knew he could trust Joseph to be rule over many things. 09:12 And his brothers came to him one day 09:15 and they were begging for bread 09:17 and the Lord used Joseph to save his family 09:19 and you know the wonderful thing he forgave them, 09:23 everything they did to him. 09:24 It was a toss up between Joseph and David, 09:26 I tell you David and Goliath 09:28 is a great story, that's a great story. 09:31 All right, well Pastor Doug, 09:32 I think we have one more video question for this evening, 09:35 so we'll do that at this time. 09:37 Hi, my name is Gracey Staley, and my question is, 09:41 "Why did the devil disguise as a snake 09:43 and not any other animal?" 09:45 Oh, yeah, now I don't know 09:47 how well our friends that are watching 09:49 at home could see this, maybe a camera can zoom in, 09:51 pardon me, Pastor Ross. 09:52 You see we got up here on the stage, 09:56 some of you can see this, 10:00 he won't hurt you, this is a rubber snake. 10:03 But when you think of snake, how many, any of you girls 10:05 out there afraid to snakes? 10:10 Any of you boys admit to being afraid of snakes? 10:14 Couple of boys, do you know that Pastor Doug, 10:18 when I lived up in the mountain in a cave, 10:21 we had Rattlesnakes up there, I've eaten snake before. 10:25 And you know what? 10:26 You don't want to do it, you know why? 10:30 Well, a couple of reasons, one is Bible says, 10:31 you shouldn't it, another reason is did 10:33 the lot of work and you don't get 10:34 anything out of it, they don't have much, 10:36 much on, it's not safe. 10:39 But snakes are something God made, 10:43 they were beautiful creatures in the garden, 10:44 and matter of fact it says, 10:45 the reason the devil used the snake is because, 10:48 it was so beautiful and so hypnotic. 10:51 And probably had wings back then, 10:54 and that's why God cursed it, 10:55 didn't had to go on the ground that means 10:56 before God cursed it, it didn't have to do that. 11:00 And so we're gonna talk a little bit 11:02 more about that in our study tonight. 11:04 All right, well thank you very much 11:05 if you have a Bible question, those of you who are watching 11:08 if you have a Bible question 11:09 you can go to the Amazing Facts Kids website, 11:12 you can type in your Bible question 11:14 and we'll try and get your question in 11:16 during our program here. 11:18 Well, we're gonna invite 11:19 our Amazing Adventure singers to come forward, 11:21 the song they will be singing this evening is 11:23 "I Will Give Them A New Heart." 11:43 And I will give them an heart to know me 11:52 That I am the Lord 12:00 And they shall be my people 12:05 And I will be their God 12:09 For they shall return unto me with their whole heart 12:19 I will give them an heart to know me 12:24 I will give them an heart to know 12:28 I will give them an heart to know 12:32 That I am the Lord 12:45 And I will give them an heart to know me 12:52 To know me, That I am the Lord 13:00 I am the Lord And they shall be my people 13:08 And I will be their God 13:12 For they shall return unto me with their whole heart 13:22 I will give them an heart to know me 13:27 I will give them an heart to know 13:32 I will give them an heart to know 13:35 That I am the Lord 13:50 I will give them an heart to know me 13:55 I will give them an heart to know 14:00 I will give them an heart to know 14:03 That I am the Lord. 14:18 Amen, that was beautiful, amen. 14:24 I sure appreciate that. 14:27 Hey, thank you so much that music is beautiful 14:29 some of our Amazing Adventure singers have come 14:31 from different parts of the country 14:33 and I want to thank Ms. Graciela and Kelly Mavor, 14:35 who's done such a beautiful job on the piano. 14:37 Again, welcome to our friends who are watching 14:39 from all different parts of North America 14:42 and around the world, we're very grateful 14:45 that you are tuned into this program. 14:48 And I hope you'll be praying, because we're having 14:50 the fringes of our hurricane that are going by 14:53 right during this broadcast, 14:55 the devil does not want you to hear tonight's study. 14:59 I think it's interesting out of all the places 15:01 that a leak could form in this church, 15:04 the water is dripping right on the mystery chest. 15:08 The devil doesn't want you to know 15:09 what you're gonna learn out of that box tonight. 15:12 And so you'll understand that better as we begin, 15:15 our lesson tonight you'll be getting a copy of this lesson 15:19 is dealing with the subject of "Slaying a Dragon." 15:23 And we're gonna talk about dragon country, 15:28 we're gonna talk about the most amazing adventure, 15:31 life there's good and evil, how many of you realize that? 15:36 And there's an enemy out there 15:39 and he does not want you to be safe, 15:42 he is the opposite of everything that is good. 15:45 And a lot of people don't understand 15:48 that God is love and God is good 15:49 because of the dragon. 15:51 So we're gonna talk about how to slay the dragon. 15:53 You know it's very interesting that all through history 15:57 in different parts of the world, 15:59 there are stories about flying dragons, 16:02 how many of you have heard stories about flying dragons? 16:05 Well you know there are some reptiles today 16:07 that actually fly, matter of fact 16:09 you can read a verse in the Bible, 16:10 in Isaiah 14 verse 29 and it says, " 16:13 "Its offspring will be a fiery flying serpent." 16:17 They got lizards they don't really flap 16:20 but they stretch out the rib cages 16:21 and they glide and they've got snakes in Indonesia 16:25 that when they jump from tree to tree, 16:27 they spread out their ribs 16:29 and they can glide, a gliding snake. 16:32 But you know, we found from the dinosaur bones 16:35 that they were actually some very large flying reptiles, 16:39 you would have called them flying dragons. 16:41 They had this Giant Pterosaurs 16:44 and there were several different varieties of them 16:47 but the biggest one over 44 foot wing span, 16:51 you know that's bigger than like a Cessna airplane. 16:55 Wouldn't you say that's a flying dragon? 16:58 Matter of fact, some of them had 17:01 big flat bones on their head 17:03 and the paleontologist wondered, 17:05 did they use that to help steer, 17:07 turn their head like a rudder backwards from an airplane. 17:11 And some of them had hollow bones 17:13 in their head with empty chambers 17:14 and they're wondering what was that for. 17:16 One scientist theorized, 17:18 you ever had of bombardier beetle, 17:21 bombardier beetle is a beetle that fliers a fiery liquid 17:24 by mixing two chemical that it has in chambers. 17:28 And they thought what if some of those 17:30 flying pterosaurs had chemicals in their chambers, 17:33 we can't tell from the fossils and they used to spit, 17:37 you know cobra's spit maybe flying 17:40 dragons really did spit 17:42 some kind of fiery chemical, we don't know. 17:45 But all the different cultures in the world 17:47 have stories about these fiery dragons, 17:49 these flying dragons. 17:52 And there really were some reptiles that flied, 17:54 that flew back before the time of the flood. 17:58 You know, the Bible tells us 17:59 that the devil is compared to a dragon 18:03 and it tells us that the dragon 18:04 is gonna be slain by the Lord. 18:06 You can read this in Isaiah 27, verse 1, 18:09 "In that day the Lord with his sore 18:11 and great and strong sword shall punish 18:15 that crooked serpent, 18:17 and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea." 18:20 The devil is called the serpent, 18:22 the devil is called the dragon 18:24 and I know it may not be a very happy subject 18:26 but tonight we're gonna talk about 18:28 why is there evil in the world why are we tempted? 18:31 Why do bad things happen to good people? 18:34 And so we're going to go to 18:35 our study guide tonight learn about that, 18:36 I just wanted to remember to tell you something, 18:39 you'll be collecting all the study guide, 18:41 you may want to do what Pastor Doug did. 18:43 I just went and got one of these little notebooks 18:45 and I punched holds in my study guides 18:47 and I keep them all together. 18:48 So the things you learn from these study, friends 18:51 you can then take them to your friend, and say, 18:53 "Wow, I want to tell you about the Amazing Adventure series," 18:55 and you can study with your friends, 18:57 the wonderful things you're gonna learn. 18:58 So just a thought I wanted to share with you. 19:01 Lesson number two on the Slaying the Dragon, 19:05 question number one, "Who is this dragon 19:09 and where did he come from?" 19:11 Now where we're gonna get our answers for these questions. 19:14 Everything we're teaching you tonight 19:16 is based on the Bible, we're getting our information 19:19 from God's holy book that never fails. 19:22 If you read in the Bible in Luke Chapter 10 verse 18, 19:26 Jesus said this, 19:27 "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven." 19:32 So where did the devil come from? 19:35 The devil in heaven. 19:37 Let's keep reading, Revelation Chapter 12 verse 9, 19:40 "So that great dragon," there he is, 19:43 that's a nickname for the devil, 19:45 "That great dragon was cast out, 19:47 that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, 19:51 who deceives the whole world." 19:53 The whole world has been deceived by the devil, 19:55 he doesn't want them to know that he really exists. 19:58 And it goes on to say, "He was cast to the earth, 20:01 and his angels were cast out with him." 20:04 We're gonna find out more 20:05 about the devil's angels in just a minute. 20:08 So something happened, you might be wondering, 20:11 did God make a devil in heaven. 20:13 Question number two, "Who made the devil? 20:16 And is he really a dragon?" 20:19 And you might be thinking why did God make a devil? 20:21 Let's find out what the Bible says, 20:23 Ezekiel Chapter 28 20:25 you learn a lot about where Satan come from and the devil. 20:28 And there the Lord says, "You were created. 20:30 You were the anointed cherub who covers, 20:34 and I established you." 20:35 You see, by the throne of God, 20:38 you can read this in Isaiah Chapter 6, 20:41 there are two very mighty angels 20:45 and they hover by the throne of God, 20:46 they are the top angels. 20:48 Lucifer was the highest of the angels, right, 20:51 they called him a covering cherub, 20:53 right by the throne of God. 20:55 He was the General of all the other angels. 20:59 Now everything in the world was created except one thing, 21:06 who knows what's not, what was not created? 21:11 God, who created God. 21:14 God has always been there. 21:16 So the most powerful of all of God's creations 21:21 was this beautiful angel and his name. 21:24 Well, I'm getting ahead of myself, 21:25 I'm not gonna tell you his name yet. 21:27 The Bible says in John, in 1 John Chapter 3 verse 8, 21:30 "The devil sinneth from the beginning." 21:33 So sin originated with who? 21:36 The devil, it began with Satan. 21:38 "That old serpent called the Devil and Satan." 21:42 And he's got a lot of names, he's called the advisory, 21:44 he's called the enemy, 21:45 he's called the prince of darkness, 21:46 he's called Beelzebub. 21:49 And if you take the letter d 21:51 off of devil what does that spell? Evil. 21:55 The girls got that one real quick. 21:58 So if you want to know what the devils like, 22:00 just take d off of his word he's evil. 22:03 And he does not want you to know what his tricks are, 22:06 that's why this program is so important. 22:10 Then he goes on to say, 22:11 "What was Satan's name before he sinned?" 22:14 Question number three, 22:15 "And where was he living at that time?" 22:18 It says in Isaiah Chapter 14 verse 12, 22:24 "How you are fallen from heaven, 22:26 O Lucifer, son of the morning! 22:30 For you have said in your heart, 22:32 I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, 22:36 I will be like the Most High." 22:39 His name back then, matter of fact, 22:40 if you knew the devil back then you would have liked him. 22:44 He was a beautiful angel, matter of fact, 22:47 God made him good, but something went wrong 22:51 and he began to be jealous about God's power. 22:55 Lucifer started thinking, 22:57 why can't I create like God can't, 22:59 why don't I have all the power that God has, 23:02 I wish I was God. 23:04 And he began to want God's position, 23:06 he was so beautiful all the other angels would turn 23:08 and look when he walk by 23:09 and light was just flowing out of him, 23:12 the name Lucifer means light bearer. 23:14 He looked like traveling being of jewels, 23:18 he was powerful, he could sing, 23:20 probably six part harmony all by himself, 23:23 just all this power and all this glory 23:26 but he was still a creature, he was not the creator, 23:29 he was the creation, he had been created, 23:32 he didn't have the power of God. 23:34 And he wanted all the power, he wanted to be the top, 23:37 he was very proud, the opposite of God. 23:40 See God is love, the devil is the opposite of love, 23:43 who knows what the opposite of love it? Say it. 23:48 Well actually selfishness, I know you think, 23:51 you're right, hate too. 23:53 Love is where you think about others, 23:56 the opposite of love 23:57 is where you only think about yourself. 24:01 And so all Lucifer really thought about was himself. 24:05 And there is a battle in the world today 24:07 between the King of Love, who is God and Jesus, 24:10 and the king of selfishness, which is Satan and Lucifer. 24:14 And they're battling for your heart, 24:15 the devil wants you to be selfish 24:16 and just think about yourself and Jesus is trying 24:18 to teach us the love and think about God 24:21 and think about others. 24:22 Who knows what the great commandment is, 24:24 "Love the Lord with all of your heart, 24:27 love your neighbor as yourself." 24:29 But Lucifer is all about me, me, my, my, my, 24:33 he's all about himself. 24:35 Now the devil was a beautiful angel 24:36 but does he want you to know that? 24:39 No, he wants you to think that he looks like a monster, 24:42 some people think Satan is a joke. 24:45 You've probably heard about people saying, 24:48 devil's fruit cake, they've also got 24:50 angel's fruit cake right? 24:52 Now if I was to ask you what does the devil look like? 24:55 If you went to the Halloween store 24:56 to find out what you're gonna dress up 24:59 like to look like the devil, 25:00 what color would be your leotards? 25:04 Red leotards, what would you have on top of your head? 25:07 Horns, what would you carry in your hand? 25:10 Sounds like a trident of pitchforks, 25:12 something like that, that's because 25:13 the devil pretend he's in-charge of hell 25:15 and he's supposed to make sure 25:16 everyone is cooked evenly, that's what they say. 25:19 And does he have wings? No. 25:23 Bat wings, yeah, how many of you 25:24 have seen pictures of the devil, 25:25 he got like bat wings, does he have a tale? 25:28 He got a point on the end of it. 25:30 Some pictures he's got hooves like a goat, 25:34 does the devil have a beard? 25:37 You know, Pastor Doug used to have a beard, 25:38 I had a goatee, that's because they say goatee 25:40 because it's comes from the word goat. 25:43 And people told me, I should shave it 25:44 because they said you look like the devil, 25:47 they said, I looked like a sinister minister 25:50 when I had a goatee. 25:52 And so I shaved it off because you know, 25:54 if you preaching about Jesus, 25:56 you don't want people tell you look like the devil. 25:57 But does the Bible say they said, anywhere 25:59 that Satan has got red leotards and horns. 26:03 He wants people to think that that actually all comes 26:06 from Greek and Roman mythology, 26:09 the devil was a glorious beautiful angel. 26:13 Question number three, "How did Lucifer change?" 26:17 Answer it says that he began to be jealous, 26:21 you can read about this in Ezekiel Chapter 28 verse 15, 26:26 did make a devil? It says, no, " 26:29 You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created 26:33 until iniquity was found in you." 26:37 He began to think about how beautiful he was 26:40 in verse 17, it says, "Your heart was lifted up 26:43 because of your beauty." 26:45 I used to know a girl, 26:46 she was very pretty but she was very conceded, 26:50 she always thought about how pretty she was, 26:51 she was always in front of the mirror, 26:53 primping herself and fixing herself up 26:56 and whenever she walk by store window 26:57 she's always looking at herself. 26:59 It just preoccupied with how she looked, 27:02 she fell in love with herself. 27:05 That's what happened with the devil, 27:07 he preoccupied with himself. 27:09 It goes on to say, even though he was very smart 27:11 because he was so in love with himself, he became dumb. 27:15 "You corrupted your wisdom 27:17 by reason of your brightness." 27:19 He was so bright and glorious 27:20 all he could think about was himself. 27:23 "For you said in your heart, I will be like the Most High." 27:27 He wanted the position of God. 27:31 Now did God make a devil? 27:35 Now think about this, some people say, they say no. 27:39 Did God created everything? 27:42 Is there evil in the world? Yes. 27:45 How many beliefs there are evil in the world today? 27:48 And then if I would ask you did God make everything, 27:50 most of you would raise your hands 27:51 and you would said, wait a second, 27:52 does that mean, God made evil? 27:55 No, that's a misconception, think about this. 28:00 Is there's such a thing as dark? 28:03 But you know, you don't make dark, 28:05 darkness is the absence of light. 28:08 If you take away light, you have dark. 28:12 You know, there is really no such thing as cold, 28:14 they've got something called absolute zero, 28:16 you get cold when there is no heat. 28:20 And God did not make evil, God is good, God is love, 28:24 but if you reject the light of God, 28:26 if you reject the warmth of God, 28:28 if you reject the goodness of God, 28:30 what's left, if you don't have goodness 28:32 what do you have, badness and evil, right? 28:35 And so God didn't make evil, God made everything good, 28:40 the Bible says, every good and perfect gift is from God, 28:44 God made a good perfect angel. 28:47 Now, you might be thinking, 28:48 well God must make a mistake. 28:50 Because when He made Lucifer, since God knows everything, 28:54 couldn't God had just made 28:56 the little transistors in his brain 28:57 so he would never be selfish and proud, 29:00 couldn't he have made him that way? 29:01 Yeah, he could have, 29:03 but God wants His creature to love Him. 29:06 Now, I'm gonna need somebody 29:07 who will get in the mystery chest tonight, 29:10 you got make sure you don't electrocute yourself. 29:13 All right, is your name Talan? Why? 35:00 Because they wanted to love you 35:02 and they want you to love them. 35:04 Love must be free and so the Lord 35:07 made all of His creatures free even though God knew 35:11 that Lucifer might chose to love himself more. 35:14 Now I got a lot left to tell you in the lesson tonight 35:16 so I better keep on moving here. 35:18 How many angels joined Lucifer when he rebel against God? 35:22 Well the answer here in the Bible, 35:25 Revelation Chapter 12 verse 3 and 4, it says, 35:29 "Another sign appeared in Heaven, 35:31 behold, a great, fiery red dragon and his tail 35:35 drew a third of the stars of heaven." 35:40 These angels are fallen angels and sometimes we think about 35:44 demons and ghosts and goblins, 35:46 they're all these fallen angels 35:48 who'd follow Lucifer, 35:49 they were rebelled against God. 35:52 And that leads us to our next question, 35:54 question number five, 35:55 "What was the result of Lucifer's rebellion? 35:58 When he said, we don't need God 36:00 to tell us what to do anymore. 36:02 He went around among the other angels in heaven 36:04 and he said, if I was in-charge we be happier. 36:08 And he was able to convince one third of the angels 36:12 in heaven to follow him instead of following God 36:15 and there was a great rebellion, 36:17 it tells us in Revelation 12 verse 7, 36:19 "There was a war in heaven and Michael and his angels 36:25 fought against the dragon, 36:26 and the dragon fought and his angels." 36:30 And the Bible tells us that, 36:33 "His tail drew a third part of the stars of heaven 36:36 and did cast them to earth." 36:39 Now see, stars is a symbolic word for angels 36:42 when you're reading there in Revelation, 36:44 it tells us that the angels equal stars 36:46 and you'll have all of these scriptures 36:48 and these codes to unlock 36:50 some of these prophesies in the Bible 36:51 they were in your lesson here. 36:54 So after Satan was cast out of heaven 36:57 where did he go? 36:58 It says that he was cast to the earth 37:01 that leads us to our next question, 37:03 question number six, 37:04 "How did Satan trick humans to join in his rebellion?" 37:09 Answer, it says in Genesis Chapter 2 verse 17, 37:14 He came and he met them in the Garden of Eden 37:16 and he began to tempt them at this tree. 37:19 God made everything perfect in the beginning, 37:21 remember God makes everything good. 37:23 When God made our world in the beginning, 37:25 were there any devils back then? No. 37:27 Did the animals eat each other? No. 37:30 Everything was peaceful, everything was loving, 37:33 but there was tree God, said to Adam and Eve, 37:36 don't eat from this tree, he warned them. 37:38 Genesis 2:17, "Of the tree of the knowledge 37:42 of good and evil you shall not eat, 37:45 for in the day that you eat thereof you will surely die." 37:51 God said, you know if you sin, the penalty for sin is death, 37:54 sin is like a terrible deadly disease 37:57 and God didn't want them to catch this disease. 37:59 And he said, if you just obey in this one thing, 38:02 Lucifer was going through the universe 38:04 and he'd been telling everybody 38:05 that they be happy if they followed him. 38:08 And God gave even Adam and Eve freedom to choose 38:11 if they would listen to Lucifer or trust him. 38:15 So the devil knew he would need to disguise themselves, 38:17 what do you think he disguise themselves as? 38:19 Snake, A serpent and do you think 38:22 it was an ugly snake or was it a beautiful? 38:26 You know what? 38:27 One reason I think that snakes were pick. 38:30 Snakes are not very loving to their young are they? No. 38:33 Snakes, they have their babies, 38:35 they either hatch eggs, 38:36 you know rattlesnakes have live births, 38:39 then after they have them they crawl away. 38:40 Some snakes have even eaten 38:42 their own babies, they're not very loving. 38:44 Matter of fact snakes are what you call cold-blooded, 38:48 if a snake gets too cold it freezes. 38:51 Some snakes, that got this water snakes 38:54 that when they are frozen they seem to be 38:56 totally frozen, stiff as a stick 38:59 and they thought and looks like they come back to life. 39:03 So the devil was like that, 39:04 he's just a very sneaky creature 39:07 and that's one reason that he symbolize by the snake. 39:10 It says in Genesis Chapter 3 verse 1, 39:12 "Now the serpent was more cunning 39:15 than any beast of the field that the Lord God had made." 39:18 So the devil decided to use the serpent as a medium, 39:21 he possess the snake and he spoke through the snake. 39:25 And when evil is out doing her pleasant work 39:26 in the garden, she was lingering 39:28 by that forbidden tree and she thought, 39:30 I wonder why God said we're not suppose to eat that. 39:32 And right, then the serpent called to her from the tree, 39:36 big beautiful serpent and he was moving, 39:38 you know, some snakes, they hypnotize their prey 39:41 with their very smooth motions. 39:45 And he was moving and maybe his iridescent wings 39:49 were fluttering, any of you seen the iridescent colors 39:51 of like a hummingbird, they shimmer. 39:54 And he said, "Oh, come here, 39:56 hi, boy, you are sure beautiful, Eve. 39:59 Why do God say, you can't eat from this tree? 40:02 Well, God says we can't eat that forbidden fruit 40:04 because if we do we'll die. 40:06 And the serpent was biting the fruit 40:08 and he said, oh, this is yummy, 40:11 matter of fact before I ate this food 40:12 I couldn't even talk now look at me. 40:15 God's keeping this from you because 40:16 there's a special power in this fruit, 40:19 the devil is very sneaky, he is a deceiver, 40:22 he tricks people with his clever work. 40:24 If you know something's wrong 40:26 should Eve, then talk to the devil? 40:28 No, She should run the other way, 40:30 the Bible says, we should flee temptation, 40:33 don't start getting into a debate with the devil, 40:36 "And the serpent said to the woman, 40:38 you won't surely die." 40:40 In other words the devil was saying, 40:42 do not trust the words of God. 40:46 Now that's a decision that all of us need to make 40:49 in our lives, there's the Bible 40:52 and if this is your map to heaven, 40:54 you'll make it through this adventure of life 40:56 and you'll be safe from the dragon. 40:58 If you follow all the other philosophies 41:00 and all the other stories you're gonna hear in the world 41:04 then you can be in trouble. 41:06 How many of you believe that God has a plan for your life? 41:10 How many of you believe that 41:11 devil has a plan for your life? 41:13 All of your hand should also go up, 41:17 you don't want the devil's plan 41:19 but you know that he's got a plan for you right? 41:22 God's plan for you is life, 41:25 you come to Jesus, the Bible says, 41:26 "He that has the Son has life." 41:30 Moses at the end of his life, he told that chosen of Israel 41:33 I've said before you this day two choices 41:36 life and good and blessing, if you believe God's word 41:39 and obey him, death and evil and cursing, if you don't. 41:44 Jesus plan for you is good, very good life, 41:48 what's the devil's plan? 41:50 Bad, suffering, miserable, life and then death. 41:55 And God cannot force you to love him, can he? 41:59 Anymore than I can force a human creature to love me, 42:03 they have a free choice. 42:05 And the devil cannot force you to follow him, 42:08 you get to choose who you want to love and serve, 42:13 you can make that choice. 42:14 And I'm hoping that everybody who's watching 42:16 this program realizes 42:17 this is the most important thing 42:19 you could be doing because you can be making a choice 42:22 during this series about living forever 42:25 in God's plan for your life, His will for you 42:28 or the devil's plan to destroy you. 42:31 And it's very important that you make the right choice, 42:34 number seven, Adam and Eve, disobey, right? 42:38 And what happened as a result 42:39 of their disobedience, number seven, 42:41 "Why didn't Adam and Eve die 42:44 as soon as they ate the forbidden fruit? 42:46 You know what the story is, Eve finally reached up 42:49 and she took the fruit, the devil said, you know 42:52 if you eat this you'll be like God, 42:54 that's really what he wanted, isn't it? 42:55 He wanted to be God 42:56 and so he told Eve the same thing, he really wanted. 42:59 Oh, you'll be like God, if you eat this fruit, 43:01 you'll have extra power, 43:02 God's keeping good things from you, 43:04 he's hiding fun from you. 43:06 You know, the devil still tells young people that today, 43:09 oh, you don't want to follow, don't listen to God, 43:11 he's keeping you from all the fun things. 43:14 Like sometimes the devil says, 43:16 oh drink beer and alcohol, it will be fun 43:19 and he tries to make it look like it's fun 43:20 and he doesn't really show you 43:21 the people who are sick laying in the street, 43:24 who've lost all their money, and they've lost their family, 43:26 and they've lost their job because of alcohol. 43:28 The devil shows the commercials on TV 43:30 that make it look like it's fun, he is a deceiver. 43:34 And he told Eve, just a little bit, 43:36 just take one bite, a little bit won't hurt. 43:39 I remember one time, the devil told me, 43:43 you can just take one cigarette, 43:45 you can stop anytime you want. 43:47 And I saw that some of my friends were smoking 43:50 and I wanted to look like I was cool 43:52 so I took one cigarette and I didn't fall over and die 43:55 so I thought oh, maybe another one. 43:58 And then I started taking one cigarette 43:59 everyday on my way to school 44:02 and then pretty soon I got where 44:03 I was stealing cigarettes from my mom 44:05 and I couldn't stop smoking. 44:07 And it's like the devil had me chained 44:08 and I wanted to quit, I kept trying to quit 44:11 and it wasn't until years later 44:13 after lots of money was wasted, 44:15 just burned up your money when you smoke don't you? 44:17 So you don't even get any nutritional value 44:19 out of cigarettes right? 44:22 It doesn't make you any smarter, 44:23 it doesn't do anything good for you 44:27 when a person smoking, all they doing is 44:29 sucking smoke and something is burning up. 44:32 And finally I had to ask the Lord, 44:35 please save me and Jesus set me free. 44:37 The devil says, just a little bit. 44:40 So Eve took that one bite and then first she said, wow, 44:44 maybe that did feel pretty good. 44:46 She ran to Adam and said, this is great, 44:48 I was talking to the serpent and he said, 44:49 God's hiding great things from us, taste some of this, 44:52 it's suppose to be really good. 44:54 And Adam was very sad but he didn't want to lose Eve 44:58 and he saw that she hadn't fallen over and died 45:02 so he took a bite. 45:04 And then all of a sudden they felt a chill. 45:07 You see before Adam and Eve sin, 45:09 they had robes of light, they did not wear 45:12 any artificial clothing. 45:14 And then after they sin their life started to go out, 45:17 all of a sudden things began to die. 45:20 Now, in our question it said, 45:21 "Why didn't Adam and Eve die right away? 45:24 You know why Adam and Eve didn't die right away 45:26 when they ate the forbidden fruit? 45:28 You read about it in John 3:16, 45:30 how many of you know this verse? 45:33 You want to say this with me? 45:35 "For God so loved the world 45:38 He gave His only begotten son, 45:42 that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, 45:47 but have everlasting life." 45:50 Did the Lord, know what Adam and Eve 45:52 will gonna do before they did it? 45:54 Yes, God knows everything 45:56 and the Lord, had a plan 45:57 that if men disobeyed, He loved man. 46:00 See the angels when they rebel, 46:01 they kind of knew what they were doing, 46:02 men was deceive and Gods said, 46:04 "I'm gonna give another chance I love you so much, 46:07 I'm gonna come to earth 46:08 and I'm gonna die in your place to save you." 46:11 And so, Adam and Eve, 46:12 they didn't die physically that very day 46:15 but they sort of die spiritually, 46:17 things began to change and all the universe 46:19 began to change and guests started coming in. 46:22 And now the devil, he is going around, 46:25 the Bible says in First Peter Chapter 5 verse 8, 46:29 "Be sober, be vigilant, 46:31 because your adversary the devil, 46:33 he is going around like a roaring lion, 46:36 looking whom he can devour." 46:38 The devil is like a lion, 46:39 you know, lion sneaks 46:40 upon its prey and it surprises them. 46:43 And again it says, "The Lord said to Satan, 46:46 in the Book of Job when Satan came to appear, 46:48 God said to Satan, "Where did you come from?" 46:50 The God knew but he said that so we get the answer. 46:53 "And Satan answered and he said to the Lord, 46:56 I've come from going to and fro on the earth 46:59 and walking up and down in it." 47:00 He is going all around the world 47:02 and he's looking for people 47:03 to recruit because he wants to destroy men. 47:06 You know, why the devil wants to hurt you, 47:08 why does the devil, this powerful angel, 47:11 why does he mess with humans? 47:13 I tell you why, 47:16 because if you want to hurt somebody, 47:19 you hurt who they love, the devil hates Jesus. 47:26 He wanted Jesus' place 47:28 and now he's been cast out of heaven, he hates Jesus. 47:32 And he knows how much Jesus loves you 47:34 and so he wants to hurt Jesus by hurting you. 47:38 And whenever we sin, it hurts Jesus 47:40 and whenever we obey God, it hurts the devil. 47:44 So everyday you're hurting somebody 47:46 and everyday you're making somebody happy. 47:48 How many of you want to hurt the devil 47:50 and make Jesus happy? 47:52 You want to do whatever makes the devil mad 47:54 and you want to do whatever makes God glad, 47:56 isn't that right? 47:57 You on the right track, if you do it that way. 47:59 And so the devil hates the women, 48:02 the God's church is symbolize in prophecy as a woman. 48:05 And it says the dragon that's the devil, 48:07 he was angry with the woman 48:09 that's the bride that's God's people, 48:11 His children and he went to make war 48:13 with the remnant of her seed, I mean it's her children, 48:16 her descendants that keep the commandments of God 48:19 and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." 48:22 They've got the law and the prophets, 48:23 they've got the world of God, 48:25 the devil is angry and he's making war. 48:28 And so there is an adventure, there is a war in life 48:30 and the only way you're gonna survive 48:31 this war is if you are on the winning team. 48:34 Are you aware 48:35 that you and God are always in majority, 48:39 if you're going into a battle with God it doesn't matter 48:42 if you're fighting against Goliath. 48:44 If you go into battle trusting the Lord, 48:46 God can help you have the victory over anything, 48:48 isn't that right? Yes. 48:50 It says in First John 4:4, 48:52 "Greater is he that is in you, 48:54 than he that is in the world." 48:56 God is more powerful than the devil, 48:58 who's more powerful the creator or the creation? 49:03 The creator, so the devil is going around, he's angry, 49:07 the Bible says in Revolution Chapter 12, 49:09 He knows his time is short and so he's furious 49:13 and he wants to take as many people with him as he can, 49:17 our only safety is in trusting the Lord. 49:18 Number 8, "What will be Satan's final punishments?" 49:22 I hope you're not feeling sorry for the devil, 49:25 you know, he is going to be punish for his rebellion. 49:27 It tells us in Revelation 20 verse 10, 49:29 "The devil, who deceived them, 49:31 was cast into the lake of fire." 49:34 And you know those who follow the devil 49:36 are gonna sharing the devil's punishment, 49:38 what happens to the devil and those who follow Him? 49:40 Mathew 25, these are the words of Jesus, 49:43 Jesus said, "Depart from me, 49:45 ye cursed, into everlasting fire, 49:47 prepared for the devil and his angels." 49:49 That's the devil and his fallen angels are demons, 49:53 they're gonna be cast into the lake of fire 49:54 and everyone who follows them 49:56 and the Bible says they're gonna burned up. 49:58 Ezekiel 28 verse 18, 50:00 "I will bring thee to ashes on the earth 50:03 in the sight of all them that behold thee." 50:05 Now, do any of you feel sorry for the devil? No. 50:08 You shouldn't, I need a volunteer. 50:12 Okay, we'll take a girl, 50:14 Amy, quickly, go look in the box 50:16 and I want you to look in the box 50:18 and there's gonna be sanke in there, 50:20 I want you to get it for me. 50:22 She didn't even slow down 50:23 when I told her there was a snake in the box, 50:26 okay, you can close the chest now. 50:30 All right, you know what kind of snake that is? 50:35 Shake it, shake it fast, 50:40 it must be a rattlesnake if it's rattling right? 50:42 I want you to take that snake and hug it, cuddle it. 50:45 Yeah, Okay, let me tell you a story, 50:48 there is a farmer walking down the road 50:50 and it was in fall and the frost did come 50:53 and he saw a snake frozen on the ground 50:55 that got too cold before he got back to his den. 50:58 And the farmer felt sorry for him 50:59 and so he put the snake inside his shirt 51:01 and he start to curdle the snake 51:02 to warm it up, it warmed up and what do you think it did? 51:06 It bit up and the farmer said that will teach me 51:09 for showing mercy to a scoundrel, 51:11 don't you feel sorry for the devil, right? 51:13 Thank you very much for that, I appreciate that. 51:17 The devil is never gonna repent, he is pure evil, 51:22 God gave him every chance in the world 51:25 to change his ways and he wouldn't. 51:27 He is the epitome of evil, he is the arch villain. 51:30 And so don't you feel sorry for him, 51:32 question number 9, 51:34 "But until then how can I be protected 51:37 against the devil's temptations? 51:39 What do we do to be saves in this world 51:40 to make this adventure to the kingdom of God? 51:43 God tell us in Ephesians Chapter 6 verse 11, 51:46 "Put on the whole armor of God, 51:49 that you might be able to stand 51:50 against the wiles of the devil." 51:52 How many of you've heard these stories 51:54 about the Knights in Shining Armor, 51:56 they go of to kill the dragon and deliver the fair maiden. 51:59 You know that's what you're reading about 52:01 in Revelation Chapter 20, Michael, who is Jesus, 52:04 He is the Knight in Shining Armor, 52:06 who delivers His bride, His church, His people 52:09 from Satan, the dragon 52:10 that's where they get all those stories. 52:12 But if you go into battle without the armor of God, 52:15 what's the dragon gonna do to you? 52:17 Burn you. 52:18 Oh, you don't want to do, if you go with your own armor, 52:22 you might get in trouble. 52:23 You want to make sure you got God's armor 52:26 and that means you use the Bible, 52:27 what did Jesus use whenever He was tempted? Bible. 52:31 Every time the devil tempted Him 52:33 He said it is written, it is written, it is written. 52:35 You can read in Ephesians Chapter 6 verse 17, 52:39 "The sword of the Spirit that is the world of God." 52:42 That is our only protection 52:45 and every time the devil tempts you, 52:46 you do what Jesus did, you quote the Bible, 52:48 but you've got to read your Bibles first 52:50 if you're gonna know how to quote the Bible 52:52 when you're tempted right? 52:54 Thy word I've hidden in my heart that I might not sin 52:57 and back to our scripture reading we started with, 53:00 how can we be victories against the devil, 53:03 "Submit yourself therefore to God. 53:05 Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 53:08 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." 53:12 You know, a number of years ago 53:14 on a hot summer day in Florida, 53:16 there was about 12-years-old boy 53:18 and he just wanted to go for swimming 53:19 there was a little lake out behind their house. 53:21 He said, mom, I'm going to swimming. 53:23 So he ran out there and he didn't even wait 53:24 till he get to the wall, 53:26 he threw off his shirt, he kicked off his shoes 53:27 and he left trail and he jumped off in the water 53:30 and he started to swim around. 53:32 And mom kept watching him out of the window 53:33 because she had heard every now and then that alligators 53:36 got loose and she is looking out to kitchen window 53:39 in the lake and she saw an alligator swim 53:42 off the shore into the lake 53:44 and started going towards her son. 53:47 She dropped what she was doing 53:48 and she run outside screaming, 53:49 she said quickly, quickly come to shore 53:51 there is an alligator, there is an alligator. 53:53 And the boy looked and he started to paddle 53:55 as quickly as he could back to the shore 53:56 and the mother ran down to the beach to help him. 54:00 Right about the time the boy got to his mother, 54:02 the alligator got to the boy 54:05 and he opened his great big mouth 54:06 and this eight foot alligator, 54:08 he clump down on the boy's legs 54:11 and he try to pull him off in the water. 54:13 But the mother got a hold of his hands 54:14 and she pull back the other way 54:17 and there was a terrible wrestling match 54:18 and the alligator began to spin 54:20 and then knock mom down and started dragging 54:22 both of them in the water 54:23 and she got back up 54:24 and she pull him back out again. 54:26 And there was a farmer 54:27 who heard all the screaming and commotion 54:30 and he grabbed a riffle out of his truck 54:32 and he went over and killed the alligator. 54:37 That boy was in the hospital and he had scars on his leg 54:41 and he started to heal up okay. 54:44 And the reporters came from the newspaper 54:45 and they said, tell us about your adventure 54:47 and he told them, and they said 54:48 could we see the scars on your legs from the alligator 54:51 and he pull back the bed sheets in the hospital 54:53 and he show the scars 54:54 but you know what he said, that's nothing 54:56 he said I got scars on my hands too 54:58 because mom would not let go of me, 55:02 because she loved me so much. 55:04 Well, did you know there is someone else 55:05 that has scares in his hand 55:08 because he wouldn't let go of you 55:10 because of His love for you. 55:12 There is a dragon that wants to destroy you. 55:14 But Jesus wants to save you, you need to make a decision. 55:18 And that's our last question, question number 10, 55:22 "Do you want to follow Jesus, put on His armor 55:25 and be protected from the dragon?" 55:27 How many of you want to say yes to Jesus, today? 55:29 And pray that God will help you to completely follow Him. 55:32 And our friends who are watching 55:34 can you raise your hands 55:35 and say, I want to follow Jesus. 55:37 I know His hands are scared because of His love for me. 55:41 Please put Jesus first in your life, 55:44 read your Bibles and you can trust Him, 55:46 He's got a special plan for you. 55:48 There is a battle in life but you can be safe 55:51 if you put your life in Jesus hands, 55:53 if you're walking with him, you don't have to be afraid 55:56 to the devil, amen. 55:57 Because He's more powerful, 55:59 would you like to pray with me right now 56:01 and asked the Lord, to give you His Spirit 56:04 to put on that armor and make a decision 56:07 to belong totally to Him, 56:09 you want God's will for your life, amen? 56:11 Amen. Let's pray together. 56:13 Loving Father in heaven, we're so thankful 56:16 for the good news that Jesus loves us so much, 56:20 He gave His life to save us, to defeat the dragon. 56:24 And we know that the devil is going around 56:26 like a roaring lion but we're not afraid of him, Lord, 56:28 because Jesus knows how to tame the lion. 56:30 I pray that we'll always stay close to His side, 56:33 put on His armor, read His word 56:35 and be ready for His coming. 56:36 Bless these children, bless this program, Lord, 56:38 with Your Spirit, we ask in Christ name, amen. 56:42 Amen, God bless you friends now, don't forget 56:45 when is our next program? 56:47 Tomorrow night, and we're going to be studying 56:49 a trip through the stars in our final program, 56:53 you won't want to forget that, 56:54 don't forget it's not too late to bring your friends. 56:57 And comeback and join us 56:58 all around the world for an Amazing Adventure. |
