00:03 by the friends of the Amazing Facts Ministry. 00:06 ♪♪♪ 00:14 Doug Batchelor: In discovering God and holiness, you will find 00:17 real happiness. 00:18 If you get that equation backwards, you will never 00:21 find happiness. 00:23 It's not gonna come through the job, or the school, or the kids, 00:27 or the marriage, or retirement. 00:28 ♪♪♪ 00:33 Doug Batchelor: I read that a few years ago, the magazine 00:35 "Psychology Today" did a survey and they asked 52,000 Americans, 00:40 "What will it take to make you happy?" 00:44 And most of the answers that were varied basically said their 00:48 happiness would depend upon circumstances instead of issues 00:52 of the heart. 00:53 For example, they say, "I would be happy when I get out 00:56 of school. 00:57 I'll be happy." 00:59 And then they would say, "When I get a job, I'll be happy." 01:04 So it wasn't just school, then they need a job. 01:06 But once they got the job, they said, "I'll be happy when I 01:08 get married." 01:12 And then they said, "I need a job that makes more money now 01:15 that I'm married." 01:17 No, I just threw that in. 01:19 Then they said, "If I could have children, then I'll be happy." 01:23 And it's interesting, right after that, honest to goodness, 01:25 it says, "When the kids leave home, then I'll be happy." 01:32 Then it says, "When I'm able to retire, then I'll be happy." 01:36 Well, I think at that point just everything's about over. 01:40 You know, the Bible teaches that true happiness, real Christian 01:45 happiness, is not the victim of circumstances. 01:49 It's something that you have within. 01:51 And as circumstances change, the devil cannot take away your joy 01:55 and your happiness. 01:56 Jesus taught what the source was to real and lasting happiness, 02:01 and it's in what we call the Beatitudes. 02:03 Now, I thought it might be a good idea just to create the 02:06 foundation for what we'll be talking about is just read 02:09 them together. 02:10 And so if you have your Bibles, turn to Matthew 5, and I'm going 02:13 to read through verse 12. 02:14 It doesn't take long. 02:16 Then we'll back up and we'll do some expositional study as 02:20 we proceed. 02:21 Matthew chapter 5, verse 1, "And seeing the multitudes, He went 02:27 up on a mountain, and when He was seated the disciples came 02:31 to Him. 02:32 And He opened his mouth and He taught them, saying: 'Blessed 02:37 are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 02:41 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 02:46 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 02:50 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for 02:54 they will be filled. 02:56 Blessed are the merciful, for they will obtain mercy. 03:00 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 03:05 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons 03:09 of God. 03:11 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' 03:13 sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 03:17 Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all 03:21 kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 03:24 Rejoice and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in 03:28 heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were 03:31 before you.'" 03:33 You know, it's probably good to do a little introduction that 03:39 just talks about what's going on here. 03:42 You've got the who, the when, the where, the why, and the how 03:45 in the delivering of the Beatitudes, so bear with me 03:48 because I think this will be helpful. 03:49 So you read in chapter 5, verse 1, it says, "Seeing the 03:52 multitudes, He went up on the mountain, and when He was seated 03:58 His disciples came to Him. 04:00 Then He opened his mouth and taught them." 04:02 So it's a good idea to look first at who are the Beatitudes 04:06 coming from? 04:09 It's good to know something about the background of the 04:12 one speaking. 04:13 These teachings are coming from the greatest teacher, the one 04:18 who has the greatest authority. 04:20 Basically, you've got the Creator, because all things that 04:22 were made were made by Him. 04:24 So He has the owner's manual. 04:26 He knows exactly what we need for real happiness. 04:29 Who could understand better what we need than the Creator? 04:34 You've got the Redeemer. 04:35 It talks in the Beatitudes about salvation, and the one who was 04:39 going to die for our sins understands best what is 04:43 necessary to be saved. 04:45 So He's qualified to talk to us about these things. 04:48 And then ultimately, He's also the Judge who is going to 04:51 separate the wheat from the chaff and the goats from 04:54 the sheep. 04:55 And so He knows what it will take for you to go from cursing 04:57 to blessing and He has the answers here in His teaching. 05:02 What about the when? 05:04 Well, when Jesus sat down and delivered the message, He's 05:08 still 30 years of age. 05:11 It's a few months into His ministry. 05:13 He's been baptized. 05:15 John the Baptist points to Him and says, "This is the Lamb 05:17 of God." 05:18 Some disciples began to follow Him. 05:21 He left them for 40 days in the wilderness, came back filled in 05:25 a special way with the Holy Spirit. 05:27 He performed some miracles, like when the man came down through 05:30 the roof. 05:31 He did some healing. 05:33 He had done some preliminary teaching. 05:34 Because of the miracles and His teachings, the crowds 05:36 were swelling. 05:37 So it's still early in His ministry. 05:39 John the Baptist is not in prison yet. 05:41 He's still preaching down at Jordan, but Jesus is now working 05:44 around Galilee, the Sea of Galilee, sometimes called 05:48 Gennesaret, sometimes called the Sea of Tiberias. 05:50 Same sea. 05:52 It's like, you know, Mount Sinai is also called Mount Horeb. 05:55 You've got a couple of different names for it. 05:58 So this was a time of great oppression. 06:02 They were occupied by the Romans. 06:05 It was a time of spiritual oppression. 06:08 The religious leaders were so engaged in a round of ceremonies 06:12 that they really missed the understanding of what it all 06:14 pointed to. 06:16 They were preoccupied with the show of religion, praying, and 06:20 giving, and fasting to be seen. 06:23 They wanted to fight for the best seats. 06:24 There's a lot of spiritual pride in the nation and so-- and they 06:29 misunderstood what the mission of the Messiah was. 06:33 Because they were being oppressed by the Romans, they 06:35 were living in great anticipation that a King would 06:38 come, but they didn't understand the nature. 06:41 They thought the Messiah was gonna come in like David and be 06:46 given all the strength of Samson, and the wisdom of 06:49 Solomon, and the courage of Elijah, and He was going to 06:51 overthrow using military force the Romans. 06:56 Even the apostles misunderstood. 06:59 But in spite of that, Jesus at this point when He delivers the 07:02 Beatitudes, shortly before, He picks 12 of them, and He ordains 07:08 them, and He sets them aside even though they had still much 07:12 to learn. 07:14 The where of the Beatitudes. 07:17 Well, it's not far from the Sea of Galilee. 07:20 The weather gets very warm there in the summer, and so possibly, 07:23 you know, one time when it was cooler, they went down by the 07:27 sea because wasn't so bad, and He pushed out in the boat, and 07:29 He taught them. 07:31 This time they need a little elevation to cool off. 07:33 He leads them up the mountain. 07:35 He finds a great natural amphitheater, because it tells 07:38 us there's great multitudes that are following Him. 07:41 There's a knoll, some prominent spot on the grass, it may have 07:45 been a crag, where He sits. 07:48 And then through the disciples' example, they sit and the 07:50 multitudes all sit, and He begins to teach. 07:55 So it's a mountain. 07:58 And then how. 08:00 I think it's interesting. 08:02 It says, "He sat." 08:04 He didn't stand and teach as I'm doing now. 08:07 A few more years, I'll probably sit and teach, but for now I 08:11 can stand. 08:12 He sat. 08:14 His posture was one of solemn declaration. 08:15 He's getting ready to issue his teachings, like Solomon on his 08:20 throne making-- ruling a judgment. 08:23 And so when Christ sat down to teach, they understood there was 08:26 a sense of expectation. 08:28 He's getting ready to tell us. 08:29 He's going to introduce the kingdom. 08:32 Because you see, when He was baptized, He started saying 08:34 right away, "The kingdom of heaven is at hand." 08:36 And they said, "Oh, it's about to happen. 08:38 He's going to arm us all." 08:40 They kept-- even when He fed the multitudes, they said, "Oh good, 08:42 we figured out how to feed the army. 08:44 Now let's attack." 08:45 They almost made Him a king by force because they misunderstood 08:48 the nature of His kingdom. 08:50 So He sits down. 08:53 And then we're going to go to the section where He begins with 08:58 a blessing, and I'm just going to talk about blessing. 09:01 And I guess I should tell you what does the word "blessing" 09:03 mean here in the Greek? 09:05 It comes from the word "makarios," and it means to be 09:08 supremely fortunate, well off, happy. 09:13 Yes, God wants you to be happy. 09:17 Contrary to what you may have been taught or told, God does 09:21 want you to be happy, but you are not to pursue happiness as 09:25 an objective. 09:27 You are to pursue God and holiness, and in discovering God 09:31 and holiness, you will find real happiness. 09:34 If you get that equation backwards, you will never 09:36 find happiness. 09:38 It's not gonna come through the job, or the school, or the kids, 09:42 or the marriage, or retirement. 09:45 It's gonna come through finding God. 09:47 Jesus said, "If you will lose your life, then you find it." 09:51 You let go of everything. 09:52 You surrender to Christ. 09:54 You take up your cross and then you find the greatest joy 09:56 and happiness. 09:57 And that's all borne out as we go through the 10:00 different Beatitudes. 10:03 Now, how many of you have memorized the Ten Commandments? 10:08 I think I could do it. 10:10 I might stumble on a little adjective here, but I think I 10:13 know them. 10:15 Have you memorized the Beatitudes? 10:17 We remember the law, "Thou shall not," but what about 10:21 the blessings? 10:23 And in the Beatitudes, keep in mind the Beatitudes are not just 10:26 a hodgepodge like a bouquet. 10:28 They are given in sequence. 10:30 They are steps, each one leading to an each one needing to 10:34 precede the one that follows. 10:37 In other words, why are the mourning mourning? 10:41 Because they recognize they are poor in spirit. 10:44 And so it's a progression. 10:46 And finally, when you are living it out, you are pure in heart, 10:50 and you are being a peacemaker and a witness for the Lord, then 10:53 you're going to get persecuted. 10:56 See how it works? 10:57 And so it's a progression. 10:59 So it's good to know that this is given in steps. 11:02 male announcer: Don't forget to request today's life-changing 11:04 free resource. 11:06 Not only can you receive this free gift in the mail, you can 11:08 download a digital copy straight to your computer or 11:11 mobile device. 11:12 To get your copy of today's free gift, simply call us and ask for 11:16 the offer number shown on your screen, or visit the web address 11:19 and download a digital copy and be sure to select the "digital 11:23 download" option on the request page. 11:25 It's now easier than ever for you to study God's Word with 11:28 "Amazing Facts" wherever and whenever you want, and most 11:32 important, to share it with others. 11:36 Doug Batchelor: But now I want to get into the first of-- I 11:40 think we'll cover three of the Beatitudes. 11:44 So He begins and He says, "Blessed are the poor." 11:48 Not just poor, poor in spirit. 11:52 Now, I need to let you know that when you go to Luke, Luke 11:55 actually does say, "Blessed are the poor," and he doesn't say 11:57 "in spirit." 12:00 And he says, "Blessed are those that mourn." 12:02 And Luke does talk to the poor people in particular because so 12:06 many of the poor followed Jesus, and it seemed it was easier for 12:10 the poor, the financially poor, to embrace being poor in spirit. 12:18 So what does this mean? 12:19 "Blessed are the poor in spirit." 12:21 Who would want to be poor? 12:23 Well, if it's poor in spirit, it means blessed are those who 12:26 realize their spiritual bankruptcy. 12:29 Let me give you some Bible examples of that. 12:32 It's talking about those who are humble and lowly in their own 12:35 eyes, because they recognize their weakness. 12:38 When David sinned, he thought he was the king. 12:41 He thought he was starting to think a little too much 12:43 of himself. 12:44 But after his sin with Bathsheba and the murder of Uriah, he says 12:48 in Psalm 51, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a 12:54 broken and a contrite heart-- These, O God, You will 12:57 not despise." 12:59 He said that under the influence of the Holy Spirit, and it is 13:01 true that when you have become brokenhearted, like Peter went 13:06 out and wept bitterly, then God was able to fill him with the 13:10 Holy Spirit. 13:12 There was a brokenness because of his sin-- David, and Peter, 13:16 and others. 13:17 It's like when Isaiah sees God high on His throne and he says, 13:22 "Woe is me. 13:23 I am undone." 13:25 You see God in His holiness. 13:27 You know, when Solomon first has that dream and God says, "What 13:31 shall I do for you?" 13:32 Solomon, when he received that great wisdom of God's Spirit, he 13:37 begins by saying, "I am bankrupt." 13:42 I'm paraphrasing. 13:43 He said, "I am just a little child. 13:44 I don't know anything. 13:46 I don't know how to go out or come in, and here I'm suddenly 13:48 responsible for this great people and I've got to follow in 13:52 the footsteps of the greatest king, my father David. 13:54 Lord, I'm inadequate." 13:56 And God says, "Now you're beginning to understand. 14:00 Now I can bless you with wisdom, and might, and power, because 14:05 you know that without Me, you're nothing." 14:08 God was able to bless Solomon when he had that humility in his 14:10 heart, being poor in spirit. 14:15 You remember reading the parable of the tax collector and the 14:18 publican, the Pharisee and the publican. 14:22 Luke 18:10, "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one was a 14:27 Pharisee, the other a tax collector. 14:30 The Pharisee stood, he prays thus with himself." 14:34 He wonders if he's talking to God or is he just praying 14:36 to himself? 14:38 "God, I thank You that I am not like other men-- extortioners, 14:42 unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector," looking at 14:45 the guy in the back row. 14:47 "'I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.' 14:52 Whereas the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so 14:57 much as raise his eyes to heaven, but he beat on his 15:00 breast and he said, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!'" 15:05 And it says, "I tell you, this man went down to his house 15:08 justified rather than the other." 15:10 Why? 15:11 Because he humbled himself. 15:13 He realized that we are nothing without the Lord. 15:16 It's like Jesus said, you don't know that you are poor, and 15:20 wretched, and miserable, and blind, and naked. 15:23 So knowing our condition is a prerequisite to the Lord giving 15:28 us the true riches, and the white garment, and the eye 15:31 salve, and everything He offers there in Revelation. 15:35 You know that story of the man, he's caught mismanaging the 15:39 king's money, and it comes to public knowledge. 15:43 He owes 10,000 talents. 15:45 Do you realize what a fantastic amount that is? 15:49 That was-- 10,000 talents, someone wrote, was the annual 15:56 budget for the whole land of Israel for one year. 16:00 I mean, this is like government money. 16:02 They say, you know, $50 trillion. 16:03 I don't know what are our national debt is right now. 16:06 Anyone know? 16:07 It's like $17 trillion. 16:09 Does that number even make sense? 16:11 How much is it? 16:12 Twenty-two trillion. 16:14 Twenty-two trillion and counting. 16:15 You know, it doesn't bother me anymore having it 22 than it was 16:18 when it was 15. 16:19 I mean, I-- you just think about that and I could go $10 trillion 16:23 or so. 16:25 It just doesn't shake me at all. 16:28 Those numbers-- well, that number, when Jesus said 10,000 16:30 talents, it's that kinda number, because these are talents. 16:33 It's a weight and it's like gold or silver. 16:35 It didn't matter. 16:36 It's so much. 16:37 And so the man unable to pay comes before the king and says, 16:41 "Have mercy. 16:43 I can't pay." 16:44 The king says, "I'll have mercy." 16:45 When he realized there was no way I could ever pay, he says, 16:49 "Then I'm going to have mercy." 16:51 You and I, there's nothing you could do, there's no way you 16:53 could ever pay for your sins. 16:56 We are poor. 16:58 It's not just poor, we are bankrupt. 17:01 We are ruined. 17:03 There's no recovery. 17:06 There's nothing you can do to ever get it back. 17:11 And when we recognize that, He says, "If you come to me and you 17:14 realize it," it's like the prodigal son when he comes home. 17:18 What has he got? 17:19 He's wasted everything. 17:22 He's got nothing. 17:23 He's got rags. 17:25 It's how we come to Jesus. 17:27 Mark 12, verse 43, He says, "Assuredly, I say this poor 17:32 widow has put in more than all those who've given to the 17:35 treasury; for they all put in of their abundance, but she out of 17:38 her poverty put in all that she had." 17:41 You know, when we come to Christ, we basically need to 17:44 cast everything aside and realize we have nothing. 17:48 So what is the reward for them? 17:53 It says one of these days they might get the kingdom. 17:57 Is that what it says for the poor in spirit? 18:00 No, "Theirs is." 18:02 Now, is that present tense? 18:04 You notice when Jesus started preaching, and John the Baptist, 18:07 He said, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven," is on 18:10 its way? 18:12 "Is at hand." 18:13 Now, this to me, it was the most mind-blowing thing that I had to 18:17 share today. 18:18 I don't know if you'll feel that way, but that's what I thought. 18:21 That means that if this is true, no matter who you are, if you 18:27 recognize that without Christ you are nothing, you have 18:29 nothing, that you can leave today and God says you can be an 18:34 owner of, present tense, the kingdom of God. 18:37 Alright, we're going to go to step number two. 18:40 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." 18:47 You know, my heart went out yesterday. 18:49 I was driving down the hill. 18:51 Actually it was two days ago. 18:52 I was driving down the hill and-- no, it was yesterday. 18:59 Doesn't matter for you, but I just want to be telling 19:01 the truth. 19:02 It was yesterday. 19:03 I was coming back from getting my Chipotle burrito. 19:05 How much more information do you want? 19:09 On Interstate 80, and off in the distance, I've seen this before, 19:12 you see a poof from the highway go up. 19:15 It's not a good sign. 19:16 There was an accident. 19:18 One car hits another, and sometimes a radiator explodes, 19:21 and you'll see a proof of steam go up, and sometimes worse, 19:24 there's smoke. 19:25 And I saw all the cars began to slow down. 19:28 The police had not arrived yet. 19:29 And I'm going-- I'm going-- now, where am I going? 19:32 West. 19:33 This was an eastbound lane, and so I thought I better take 19:35 a look. 19:37 And I get over, you know, like the looky-loos. 19:38 I get over to see what happened, and by the time we crawled up to 19:42 where the accident was, two or three cars, at least three cars, 19:47 were pulled over on the shoulder. 19:50 And I saw this one guy and my heart just broke for him. 19:53 It looked like a young man. 19:55 I'm not even sure it was his car, but he had rear 19:57 ended somebody. 19:58 Front of the car was all smashed. 20:00 And it didn't look like anyone was hurt. 20:01 Steam was comin' out of the radiator. 20:03 And he had his arms folded and his head on his arms on the hood 20:06 of the car, and he was just mourning. 20:10 You know that feeling like, "Oh no, this is the last thing in 20:15 the world I needed." 20:16 And he was just so overwhelmed, I just felt like crying for 20:19 the fellow. 20:20 I could just tell he hadn't planned that that day. 20:23 And I just prayed for him. 20:25 I said, "Lord, help him know that someday this will pass." 20:29 But do you ever have that feeling of just anguish? 20:34 Well, when you realize that you're bankrupt, you will feel 20:38 that sense of anguish. 20:40 Amos 8, verse 10, "I will make it like the mourning for an only 20:44 son, and its end like the bitter day." 20:49 Why is there mourning when we become poor of spirit? 20:54 We realize our sins. 20:55 We realize what our sins cost. 20:58 Don't you usually mourn when there's a death? 21:01 And to be saved, there's really two deaths. 21:07 There is the death of Jesus, and we realize He died for us, and 21:12 that brings about our death. 21:13 We take up our cross and we follow Him. 21:15 We are crucified with Christ, right? 21:17 But then He's blessing the mourning. 21:22 And Revelation ultimately tells us, "God will wipe away every 21:26 tear from their eyes; and there will be no more death, sorrow, 21:29 or crying. 21:30 There will be no more pain." 21:31 But I want to assure you that that comfort is not just when we 21:35 get to heaven. 21:36 When you mourn even in this life, God will then comfort and 21:40 you'll end up having peace. 21:42 And then the final point for today is the meek. 21:45 "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." 21:49 You know, I think Jesus may have been quoting from Psalm 37. 21:52 Tell me what you think. 21:54 Verse 11, "But the meek will inherit the earth, and delight 21:58 themselves in the abundance of peace." 22:01 So that's what we're talking about today, how to have that 22:03 joy and peace. 22:04 You know, people who are proud are never peaceful because they 22:08 never have enough. 22:10 They never have enough power. 22:12 They never have enough attention. 22:13 They're always insecure. 22:14 And so they're always restless. 22:17 But when you finally realize you're poor, and you've mourned, 22:21 and God has comforted you, you've got this meekness about 22:24 you that, you know, it's not easy to be insulted or to 22:29 be hurt. 22:31 Jesus said, Matthew 11:29, "Take My yoke upon you and learn of 22:35 Me, for I am meek and lowly." 22:37 He's calling us to follow Him. 22:39 Jesus was meek and lowly. 22:40 He's calling us to have that same humility. 22:44 "I'm meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest." 22:47 Through meekness, you find rest. 22:49 So much of our dissatisfaction is because of our pride. 22:54 We're upset with other people, what they think, or what they 22:58 say, and it's really a form of selfishness. 23:02 Someone said you're never more like the devil than when 23:04 you're proud. 23:06 It's through pride that Satan was cast out of heaven. 23:09 And yet Jesus is the one who made Himself of no reputation. 23:14 He went from God, He became a human. 23:16 He not only became a human, He became a humble human. 23:19 He became a meek human, born in a barn human. 23:22 I mean, He took the lowest position that God might 23:25 exalt Him. 23:26 Yet in the world, we're always fighting for recognition. 23:31 I've been reading a book by John Calvin the last few weeks and, 23:36 you know, Calvin makes a comment. 23:39 He says all of us have this kingdom in our breast that must 23:42 be subdued. 23:44 We want to be king, always thinkin' about ourselves. 23:46 It's a kingdom of I, and I thought, "Yeah, I can resonate 23:49 with that." 23:51 My biggest problem is me. 23:52 John Calvin, when he died, he gave strict instructions that he 23:55 be buried in a common cemetery with no tombstone. 23:59 He had his friends bury him in an unmarked grave somewhere 24:04 there in Geneva. 24:05 And to this day nobody knows where his grave is because he 24:07 said, "I don't want anyone making a shrine out of 24:09 my grave." 24:10 He understood there was that danger. 24:13 Bible tells us that this is the key to that happiness is knowing 24:19 that it all comes from the Lord. 24:21 He's offering us that peace. 24:23 "Great peace have those that love His law and nothing will 24:27 offend them." 24:28 Would you like to have that peace and that joy, friends? 24:31 And it comes from being poor in spirit, recognizing that we're 24:36 mourning for what Christ had to pay because of our sins, and 24:41 willing to take up our cross and follow Him, and then follow 24:44 Him meekly. 24:50 male announcer: Don't forget to request today's life-changing, 24:53 free resource. 24:54 Not only can you receive this free gift in the mail, you can 24:56 download a digital copy straight to your computer or 24:59 mobile device. 25:00 To get your digital copy of today's free gift, simply text 25:04 the keyword on your screen to 40544, or visit the web address 25:08 shown on your screen and be sure to select the "digital download" 25:12 option on the request page. 25:13 It's now easier than ever for you to study God's Word with 25:17 "Amazing Facts" wherever and whenever you want, and most 25:20 important, to share it with others. 25:24 male announcer: Doug Batchelor was the teenage son of a 25:26 millionaire father and show business mother, yet he was 25:29 living in a cave. 25:31 He had everything money could buy, everything but happiness. 25:34 But all of the fun and excitement he enjoyed left his 25:37 life out of control. 25:39 His search eventually led him to a cave above Palm Springs that 25:43 became his home. 25:44 While Doug scavenged for food in garbage bins, his father owned a 25:48 yacht, a learjet, and an airline. 25:51 But in his cave home, he discovered a dust-covered Bible. 25:55 As he began to read, he soon learned of his true purpose 25:58 in life. 25:59 "The Richest Caveman" is the extraordinary true story of Doug 26:03 Batchelor that tells how a rebellious teenager who once 26:06 lived in a cave became a tremendous soul winner for 26:09 Jesus Christ. 26:11 It's a thrilling testimony of the transforming power of 26:13 God's Word. 26:15 To order your copy of "The Richest Caveman," call 26:18 800-538-7275 or visit afbookstore.com. 26:24 Doug Batchelor: Every week, "Amazing Facts" produces a radio 26:27 broadcast called "Bible Answers Live" where listeners can call 26:31 in and ask some of the most pressing Bible questions that 26:34 are circulating in the world today. 26:37 This popular weekly radio program has reached millions 26:40 with the truth found in God's Word. 26:42 Now we've compiled a series of books to help you find clear 26:46 biblical answers to the meaningful questions about 26:49 Scripture's most difficult topics. 26:51 The questions and answers in these books are based on actual 26:54 calls that have been featured on the "Bible Answers 26:57 Live" program. 26:58 For over 25 years now, "Bible Answers Live" has given millions 27:02 the Bible truth they need to better understand the Word and 27:06 to know God's will for their lives, and now it's your turn. 27:09 If you've got difficult Bible questions or you're searching 27:11 for answers, chances are your questions or somewhere in 27:15 these books. 27:16 Order your copy of "The Best of Bible Answers Live" today. 27:24 male announcer: In six days, God created the heavens and 27:27 the earth. 27:29 For thousands of years, man has worshiped God on the seventh day 27:33 of the week. 27:34 Now, each week, millions of people worship on the first day. 27:38 What happened?
