00:05 ♪♪♪ 00:14 Doug Batchelor: There's a power of faith that God has wired 00:17 in every human. 00:18 You know, Jesus never said, "My faith has made you whole." 00:21 He always said, "Your faith has made you whole." 00:28 Doug Batchelor: You know, we're gonna be talking about 00:29 "Mountain-Moving Faith" tonight and that Jesus-- 00:33 I'll tell you why. 00:34 Jesus made a statement in Mark 11, verse 22, 00:38 "Have faith in God. 00:39 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 00:42 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his 00:46 heart, but believes those things that he says will be done, 00:50 he will have whatever he says. 00:53 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, 00:57 believe that you receive them, and you will have them." 01:01 Now that's a big promise. 01:03 But what is Jesus talking about? 01:04 Say to a mountain, "Be plucked up and moved into the sea." 01:07 You can read in Micah 7:19, "He will again have compassion 01:11 on us, and will subdue our iniquities. 01:14 You will cast all of our sins into the depths of the sea." 01:19 So what is it that we moved-- need moved? 01:21 We don't need a mountain of dirt, we need to have God 01:23 remove a mountain of sin. 01:26 And some of us have bigger mountains than others, 01:29 but God is in the business of moving mountains. 01:31 And through faith in Christ, that mountain can be moved 01:35 and cast into the sea. 01:37 And I remind you again that the deepest ocean in the world, the 01:39 Marianas Trench, is 36,000 feet deep and the tallest mountain, 01:44 Mount Everest, is just under 29,000 feet, meaning you could 01:48 submerge Mount Everest in the deepest ocean and it would be 01:51 completely covered. 01:53 You can submerge all of our sins in God's mercy 01:57 and it'll be completely removed from God's sight. 01:59 He casts our sins into the depths of the sea and he sets up 02:03 a "no fishing" sign. 02:05 Faith, mountain-moving faith. 02:09 So we're gonna be talking about this subject of faith because it 02:13 is crucial in our salvation, but I want to begin by previewing a 02:17 story about the Promised Land, talking about these 12 spies. 02:21 So in your Bibles, the story we're going to use 02:23 as a springboard is Numbers chapter 13. 02:27 Before they entered the Promised Land, 02:30 people had not been there their whole lives. 02:33 They hadn't been there in generations. 02:34 They wondered what it looked like. 02:36 And they persuaded Moses to let them send some spies to sorta 02:40 preview things, see what the state of things was, 02:44 and he agreed. 02:45 And then it tells us the names of these 12 spies. 02:48 Most of them have evaporated into history, but we remember 02:51 two of them: Joshua, the son of Nun, and Caleb, 02:55 the son of Jephunneh. 02:56 And he sends them out and it says that now Moses--verse 17. 03:01 Numbers 13, verse 17, "Then Moses sent them to spy out the 03:05 land of Canaan, and he said to them, 'Go up this way into the 03:09 South, and go up into the mountains, and see what the land 03:11 is like: whether the people who dwell there are strong or weak, 03:15 few or many; whether the land they dwell in is good or bad; 03:19 whether the cities they inhabit are like camps or strongholds; 03:22 whether the land is rich or poor; whether they are forests 03:26 or not. 03:27 Be of good courage.'" 03:28 He's saying, "'Be courageous, have faith, and bring some 03:31 of the fruit of the land.' 03:33 Now the time was the season of first ripe grapes. 03:36 So they went and they spied out the land from the Wilderness of 03:39 Zin as far as Rehob, near the entrance of Hamath. 03:42 And they went up through the South and came to Hebron." 03:45 These are the mountains of Hebron. 03:47 "And Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, 03:50 were there. 03:52 And they came to the valley of Eshcol, and there they cut down 03:54 a branch with one cluster of grapes; and carried it 03:57 between two of them on a pole. 04:00 And they brought some of the pomegranates and the figs." 04:03 And it says, "They returned," in verse 25, "from spying out 04:06 the land after forty days." 04:08 So they departed and they come back. 04:09 Now, right away you find out when they return there's a big 04:12 difference between ten of the spies and two of the spies. 04:17 Two of the spies get there first, Joshua and Caleb 04:20 I suspect. 04:22 I think they're probably the ones carrying this enormous 04:24 cluster of grapes. 04:25 And they said, "The land through which you send us is a land that 04:29 truly flows with milk and honey, and here's the fruit of it." 04:32 And they began to toss big old grapes to everybody. 04:35 You got grapes as big. 04:37 I was in Australia and I really saw grapes that big. 04:40 And so they're giving all these grapes to everybody and they're 04:42 tossing them figs, and pomelos, and there's probably fruit flies 04:45 everywhere 'cause they've been carrying all this sticky fruit 04:47 for days. 04:48 And the people are rejoicing, but then the other ten guys who 04:51 had been dragging along, Joshua and Caleb knew this wasn't going 04:55 to go well. 04:56 They brought back a negative report. 04:58 You see, as they first began to go through the Promised Land, 05:02 they looked at the walls of Jericho and they thought, 05:04 "Wow, those walls are massive. 05:06 How are we ever gonna conquer a city with a fortress like that? 05:09 Impossible. 05:10 Look at the size of their armies." 05:13 They came to the mountains of Hebron, "Look at the size 05:16 of the Anakim. 05:17 They're giants. 05:18 We feel like grasshoppers. 05:20 How can we conquer a nation like this?" 05:21 And everywhere they went, they just saw all the problems and 05:25 they forgot the promises of God. 05:27 The reason it was called the Promised Land is because God 05:30 promised to give it to 'em and they forgot how far God had 05:34 brought them out of Egypt. 05:35 Have you ever made that mistake? 05:37 You forget all the miracles that God performs for you and 05:39 you wonder if he can finish what he started in your life. 05:43 Well, those ten spies show up and they say, "Oh no, 05:46 we're never gonna make it." 05:47 You can listen. 05:49 And it tells us, after they say it's a beautiful land 05:52 in verse 28, then the ten spies begin the majority report. 05:56 "Oh, the people who dwell in the land are strong; and the cities 06:00 are fortified and very large; moreover we saw 06:03 the descendants of Anak there. 06:05 The Amalekites dwell in the south; the Hittites, and the 06:08 Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains." 06:10 How can we conquer these mountains? 06:12 "And the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the banks 06:15 of the Jordan." 06:16 And all the people began to moan, I suspect, 'cause it says, 06:19 "Caleb quieted the people." 06:21 Why would it say that except they were starting to moan 06:23 and complain? 06:25 "He quieted them before Moses, and said, 'Let us go up 06:27 at once.'" 06:29 Now, he had just come back from wandering through this land 06:32 for 40 days. 06:33 He's ready to go take it right now. 06:35 It says, "'Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are 06:38 well able to overcome it.' 06:40 But the men who had gone up with him said, 'We are not able to go 06:43 up against the people, for they are stronger than we are.' 06:47 And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land 06:50 that they spied out." 06:51 Alright, friends. 06:52 Right there I've summed up just if you wanna know who's gonna 06:54 make it and who's not gonna make it. 06:57 If you don't think you'll make it, you won't make it. 06:59 If you believe that God can lead you in, you can make it. 07:03 All things are possible to those that believe. 07:06 Caleb said, "We are able." 07:09 The other group said, "We are not able." 07:12 And what's really sad is they were all church members. 07:16 Now, when we talk about taking the Promised Land and conquering 07:20 the mountains, having mountain-moving faith, you know, 07:23 there are people in the church today that says Jesus just came 07:27 to give you grace to cover your sin. 07:30 Don't really expect any change in your life or victory over 07:34 sin, just accept his grace and just enjoy that, and don't worry 07:39 about striving, or fighting, or wrestling against temptation, 07:45 or running the race of life. 07:47 They act like if there's any effort involved in being a 07:50 Christian, it's a lack of faith. 07:51 That is categorically not true. 07:53 The Bible is very clear that faith means that you might need 07:57 to fight a good fight of faith. 07:59 Caleb believed they could take the Promised Land and Caleb was 08:02 also willing to fight for it. 08:04 David believed he could conquer Goliath and he said even when he 08:08 went against Goliath, "You come against me with a sword, 08:11 and a spear, and a shield. 08:12 I come against you with the Lord." 08:14 His faith was in God, but he had a sling, and he had a stone, 08:18 and he had a staff. 08:20 And so the Christian life is using all of the ability that 08:25 God has given you, trusting God, moving forward, trusting God. 08:30 But you must surrender all of your human ability to the Lord. 08:34 You do need to engage your will. 08:37 You must surrender your heart to him. 08:39 And there is effort involved. 08:40 Why does the Bible say, "Resist the devil. 08:43 Flee from temptation"? 08:45 And sometimes there's a struggle involved. 08:47 I think people need to be reminded that part 08:49 of the conversion is fighting the good fight of faith, 08:52 but it takes courage to do that. 08:54 What happened to these other ten spies? 08:55 Moses said, "Don't be discouraged. 08:58 Have courage. 09:00 Believe." 09:01 Well, they get discouraged. 09:03 They looked at the problems instead of the promise. 09:05 They lost faith because they kept focusing on the negative. 09:08 And we still have the same issue today. 09:10 Here we are now, we are on the borders of the Promised Land. 09:14 The question is, do God's people believe that he is still a God 09:18 that can move mountains? 09:19 So I'm going to go through some points that I hope will help 09:22 illustrate this truth, so let's begin talking about 09:25 the prerequisite of faith. 09:27 Why is faith so important? 09:28 You cannot be saved without faith. 09:31 Now, God wouldn't say that unless it was possible for you 09:33 to have faith. 09:35 Hebrews 11, verse 6, "Without faith it is impossible to please 09:39 him, for he that comes to God must believe that he is, 09:44 and he is the rewarder of those that diligently seek him." 09:49 Faith is possibly the single most important element 09:52 in the Christian life. 09:54 Anything a person does in attempting to be a Christian 09:56 means absolutely nothing if he lacks faith. 10:00 The Bible says, "Whosoever believeth in him," John 3:16. 10:04 It all boils down to believing in God. 10:07 The words of Christ, Matthew 6, verse 30, "Now if God so clothes 10:12 the grass of the field, which is today, and tomorrow thrown in 10:15 the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O ye of 10:18 little faith?" 10:19 How often Jesus made a big issue out of a little faith. 10:23 Matthew 8:26, he said to the disciples, "Why are you fearful, 10:28 O you of little faith?" 10:30 And then Luke 18, verse 8, Jesus said, "Nevertheless, when the 10:33 Son of Man comes, will he really find faith on the earth?" 10:37 What was Jesus looking for? 10:39 He wanted to see faith. 10:41 A weak faith his weakened by predicaments and catastrophes, 10:44 whereas a great faith is strengthened by them. 10:48 The reason that Job is mentioned in the Bible is because he was 10:51 a man who had developed faith before he ever got 10:53 to his trials. 10:56 One man came to Jesus with his son and said, "Lord, if you can 11:00 do anything." 11:01 And Jesus said, "If you believe, all things are possible to him 11:05 that believes." 11:06 That "statement, All things are possible with God," is found 11:08 about four times in the New Testament. 11:11 The angel said to Mary, and several times with God, 11:14 "All things are possible." 11:16 All things is--really means all things. 11:20 Mark--I'm sorry, Ephesians 2, verse 8, "For by grace you've 11:24 been saved through faith." 11:26 Habakkuk 2, verse 4, "The just will live by his faith." 11:31 Galatians, "For you are all sons of God through faith 11:35 in Christ Jesus." 11:36 Romans 5:1, "Therefore, having been justified by faith, 11:41 we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." 11:43 So I hope I've made my case, friends, that a prerequisite 11:47 for anyone to be saved is believing in God. 11:51 We must believe in God. 11:53 Well, that leads us to the next important point and I'm going to 11:56 spend a little time on this, and that's the prevalence of faith. 12:00 You might be thinking, "The Lord is making it so impossible 12:04 by asking me to have this supernatural, extraordinary 12:06 faith, and I just--I'm not a person of faith." 12:09 I don't believe that. 12:10 I believe that everybody has faith. 12:13 The question is, where is your faith? 12:15 Now, the Bible tells us this. 12:17 Romans chapter 12, verse 3, "God has dealt to every man 12:22 the measure of faith." 12:24 And keep in mind, salvation doesn't just come by faith, 12:26 it comes by faith in the Lord. 12:28 Every time someone was healed by Jesus, you know, 12:31 Jesus never said, "My faith has made you whole." 12:34 He always said, "Your faith has made you whole." 12:38 Doug Batchelor: Don't go anywhere, friends. 12:39 We'll be back in just a moment for the rest of 12:41 today's presentation. 12:43 You probably already know that the United States is one 12:47 of the most powerful economic and military nations in history, 12:51 but have you ever wondered if the Bible has anything 12:54 to say about the US in Bible prophecy? 12:58 What if I told you that it does? 12:59 Would it surprise you? 13:01 Well, it's true. 13:02 Using vivid symbolic imagery, the book of Revelation details 13:07 the rise of America and the prominent role that it will play 13:11 in the last days of human history. 13:13 If you'd like to know more about this important subject, 13:16 Amazing Facts wants to send you a special gift called, 13:20 "The USA in Bible Prophecy." 13:22 This short but insightful study guide will astound you as you 13:26 see for yourself how the book of Revelation pinpoints 13:30 the United States as a major player in these end time events 13:34 and what you can do to be ready for it. 13:36 To get your free copy, call the number on your screen 13:39 and ask for offer 181, or visit the web address. 13:43 And after you read this incredible resource, 13:46 make sure and share it with a friend. 13:47 Well, let's get back to the rest of today's presentation 13:50 and learn some more amazing facts from the Word of God. 13:54 Doug Batchelor: You know, the two people that Jesus especially 13:56 complemented in the Bible were Pagans that demonstrated 14:01 their faith in him. 14:02 You remember, there was this woman that she persisted 14:06 in asking Jesus to heal her daughter. 14:09 And even though Christ was trying to send her away, 14:12 he said, you know, "Can't take the children's food and give it 14:14 to the dogs." 14:16 He was testing her faith. 14:17 She said, "Yes, but even the puppies get the crumbs." 14:19 He said, "Woman, great is your faith. 14:21 Your daughter is healed." 14:23 He just did that to illustrate something for the apostles. 14:25 Then there's the Roman centurion. 14:27 He said, "You don't even need to come to my house." 14:29 And Jesus turned around in amazement and said, "I've not 14:32 seen this kind of faith in all of Israel." 14:34 Two blind men come to Jesus and said, "Lord!" 14:36 He said, "What do you want?" 14:38 "That our eyes might be opened." 14:39 He said, "Be it unto you according to your faith." 14:43 Now, that seems like a pretty tall order. 14:46 Jesus is telling us that if we have faith in him, all things 14:50 are possible to him that believes. 14:51 I'm not suggesting you go buy a lottery ticket and then have 14:54 faith you've got the winning number. 14:56 It's not that kind of faith. 14:57 The principle thing that Jesus wants to have us learn about the 15:02 power of faith is that through faith in him, we can have the 15:07 mountain moved, that we can get victory over our sins, that we 15:10 can be transformed, that we can become like Christ. 15:13 The purpose of the plan of salvation, the angel said, 15:17 "You'll call his name Jesus for he will save his people 15:19 from," what? 15:21 "From their sins." 15:22 God wants us to have faith that we can be saved, that he can 15:25 transform us. 15:26 You know, so often the battles in the Bible, you see when they 15:29 went into battle trusting the Lord, they won. 15:31 Old Testament's full of battles. 15:33 People say, "Pastor Doug, why is the Old Testament full of war?" 15:36 All of those battles are illustrating our battle 15:39 with the devil. 15:40 Doesn't matter if there were 20,000 enemy soldiers and they 15:43 only had ten, when they went into battle--Samson killed a 15:48 thousand with a jawbone with the Spirit of the Lord. 15:50 When you go into battle with the Lord, someone once said you and 15:54 God are always a majority. 15:56 And when Jonathan and his armorbearer went against the 15:59 Philistine garrison, he said, "There's no restraint for the 16:02 Lord to deliver by few or many." 16:04 They went it faith and they got the victory over this 16:07 whole contingent of soldiers. 16:08 Two men because they had faith. 16:11 So there's this prevalence of faith that we see all through 16:13 the Bible and the Lord wants us to demonstrate that. 16:17 Then you've got the production of faith. 16:20 All right, so there's faith out there and I've got a little bit 16:23 of faith. 16:24 How do I grow my faith? 16:27 Well, the answer's in the Bible. 16:29 The disciples came to Jesus. 16:31 They said, "Lord, increase our faith." 16:35 And Jesus said, "Impossible, you only get so much at birth 16:38 and that's your quota." 16:39 That's not what he said. 16:41 The reason they said, "Increase our faith," and Jesus responded 16:45 is because it is possible for you to have 16:48 your faith increased. 16:50 How does that happen? 16:51 "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." 16:57 As you read the Bible, your faith will grow. 17:01 Which leads me to another important element in how you can 17:04 have more production of your faith. 17:10 Look at the story of David, David and Goliath. 17:14 So when David says to King Saul, "I believe that I could whip 17:17 that giant," the king said, "He is a soldier from his youth 17:22 and you are just a youth. 17:23 What makes you think you can beat him? 17:24 He's twice your size." 17:26 David said, "Well, I've just got blind faith." 17:28 That's not what he said. 17:30 David said, "I've got evidence for my confidence. 17:34 When I was taking care of my father's sheep, a bear showed up 17:38 and God gave me the strength and the spirit to kill the bear. 17:42 And then later a lion came to get the sheep and God delivered 17:47 the lion into my hand. 17:48 And through God's faith working through me, I killed a bear, 17:52 I killed a lion. 17:53 True, they're smaller than the giant, but I've got evidence, 17:56 and based on the evidence of what God did for me with the 17:58 lion and the bear, I believe that he can help me 18:01 kill the giant." 18:02 When the Lord brought the children of Israel to the 18:04 shores, the borders of the Promised Land, hadn't the Lord 18:08 given them evidence to believe? 18:11 Look at all those incredible plagues that came on the 18:13 Egyptians, and how God provided water out of a rock, and bread 18:17 for heaven, and victory over the Amalekites. 18:20 He had given them evidence for their faith and that's why they 18:22 were without excuse when he said to that generation, "You can't 18:27 go into the Promised Land because you just don't believe." 18:30 And friends, that's something-- it's kind of a sobering thought, 18:34 but I don't want to rush past it. 18:37 Those that did not believe that God could bring them 18:40 into the Promised Land and give them victory did not make it 18:43 into the Promised Land. 18:44 You must believe that your Jesus is bigger than your devil. 18:49 Nobody has a problem having faith in the devil. 18:52 Everybody glorifies the devil all the time, saying, "Oh yeah, 18:55 the devil got me to do this and the devil got me to do that." 18:57 And you know, they just take it for granted that the devil is 19:00 gonna have his way in their life. 19:02 But when you say, "Well, don't you think that Jesus 19:05 is bigger than the devil? 19:06 Doesn't the Bible say, 'Greater is he that is in you than 19:10 he that is in the world'?" 19:12 And so through Christ, we are able to get the victory and 19:16 conquer and overcome these mountains. 19:19 So you can have more faith. 19:22 Matthew 17, verse 20, "Assuredly, I say to you, 19:25 if you've got faith as a mustard seed, you'll say to this 19:28 mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; 19:33 and nothing will be impossible for you. 19:36 However, this kind does not go forth except by prayer 19:38 and fasting." 19:40 So read the Bible, you get faith, look at the evidence 19:43 of God's leading in your past and it'll grow your faith, 19:47 and prayer will grow your faith. 19:49 So when you pray and you get answers to your prayer, 19:54 your faith gets bigger. 19:55 Have you ever prayed before for something that was just really 19:58 extraordinary, and then God answered your prayer and you go, 20:00 "Wow, why would I doubt God? 20:03 He's so powerful. 20:04 He's answered so many prayers before." 20:07 Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible, 20:11 and receives the impossible. 20:13 All right, well, at this point I want to talk a little bit about 20:15 the poison of pessimism. 20:18 You can read here where it says in Matthew chapter 4, verse 3, 20:21 "When the tempter came to Jesus, he said, 'If you're 20:24 the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.'" 20:28 Now, what did he say? 20:30 "If." 20:32 For the devil, everything is about an "if." 20:35 You know, when Christ was hanging on the cross, there was 20:37 that thief on the left and he said, "If you're the Son of God, 20:41 save yourself and us." 20:44 And the high priest, when Christ was being tried, he said, 20:49 "If you're the Son of God." 20:51 So the word "if," it obviously denotes some doubt. 20:56 And so God is not wanting us to have doubt, 20:58 he's wanting us to have faith. 21:00 James chapter 1, verse 6, When someone comes to the Lord and 21:04 they're wanting deliverance, he said, "But when a person prays, 21:08 let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is 21:12 like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 21:16 For let not that man suppose he'll receive anything from the 21:19 Lord; a double-minded man is unstable in all of his ways." 21:23 Some of us need to pray and say, "Lord, forgive my unbelief." 21:30 Start believing that God can. 21:33 And you know, I think it's important for us to speak 21:37 positively to those that are around us. 21:38 So many Christians are negative to each other. 21:41 We need to encourage each other that we can do all things 21:44 through Christ. 21:45 Abraham Lincoln said, "We complain because roses have 21:49 thorns, but we ought to rejoice that the thorn bushes 21:52 have roses." 21:53 And that's--several variations of that have been quoted. 21:57 So not only do we have the production of faith to avoid the 22:01 poison of pessimism, so don't be constantly rehearsing disbelief, 22:07 then there's the perseverance of faith. 22:10 Faith is not something that just happens in a moment. 22:13 Faith represents a persistence. 22:17 They were 40 days exploring the Promised Land even though they 22:20 saw--they saw that the giants were bigger. 22:24 They saw the walls of Jericho were bigger. 22:27 They saw that they had, you know, better weapons, the people 22:31 in the Promised Land. 22:32 Caleb and Joshua, they saw that, but they persisted in believing 22:36 in God. 22:37 They hung on. Faith persists. 22:40 You know how you move a mountain? 22:42 An ant can move a mountain one grain of sand at a time. 22:45 You've just got to persist. 22:48 1 Timothy 6:12, "Fight the good fight of faith." 22:52 It is a fight. 22:54 It's a battle. 22:55 "Lay hold on eternal life." 22:56 Now, the language that Paul is using there, he's kind of 22:59 talking about, like, when Jacob got ahold of the angel 23:02 and he said, "I will not let you go unless you bless me." 23:06 Take ahold of the promises of God. 23:07 Lay hold of them, and reach out for the horns of the altar, 23:11 and just plead for mercy. 23:13 Sometimes we give up so easy. 23:15 Pray persistently. 23:17 1 John 4, verse 4 and 5, "For whatever is born of God 23:21 overcomes the world. 23:23 And this is the victory that has overcome the world." 23:25 What is it? 23:26 "Our faith. 23:27 Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes 23:31 that Jesus is the Son of God?" 23:33 Spurgeon said, "A little faith will bring your soul to heaven. 23:38 A great faith will bring heaven to your soul." 23:41 Faith does not--George Mueller, who's a great man of faith, 23:44 he said, "Faith does not operate in the realm of possibility. 23:47 There's no glory for God in that which is humanly possible. 23:50 Faith begins where man's power ends." 23:54 You might say, "Lord, I'm helpless. 23:56 I can't do it." 23:57 That's when you really give God permission to roll up 24:00 his sleeves. 24:02 Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. 24:05 The most certain way to succeed is always to try one more time. 24:10 You've heard the expression, and that, by the way, 24:13 is Thomas Edison, who wasn't a Christian but he made 24:15 some good statements. 24:16 Someone said, "Triumph is the combination of try and oomph." 24:19 Sometimes Christians forget about the oomph. 24:21 There is some effort involved in being a Christian. 24:24 You gotta wrestle sometimes in prayer. 24:27 And this is a great quote by Bernard of Clairvaux, 24:32 "Only by desertion can we be defeated. 24:34 With Christ and for Christ, victory is certain. 24:37 We can lose the victory by flight, but not by death. 24:42 Happy you are if you die in battle, for after death you'll 24:44 be crowned. 24:45 But woe to you if by forsaking the battle you forfeit both 24:49 at one time the victory and the crown." 24:53 So many people give up, and for little temporary relief, 24:57 they sacrifice to the devil. 24:59 Friends, and then there is power in faith when you believe 25:03 all things are possible. 25:05 You know, I didn't give you the rest of the story. 25:08 You can look in the book of Joshua, in chapter 14. 25:11 Caleb is 85 years old and he comes to Joshua. 25:15 They'd conquered a bunch of other nations. 25:17 And Caleb says to Joshua, "You know that 40 years ago, when we 25:21 were spies, I believe that God could lead us in. 25:24 And I saw these mountains where these beautiful, fertile soil, 25:27 the southern exposure, and the springs," in what we now call 25:30 Judea, the area of Hebron, better known as the mountains of 25:34 the Anakim where the giants lived. 25:37 Caleb said, "I'm 85 years old now, but I am as strong now for 25:41 going out to battle, for coming in." 25:43 And then he makes these famous words. 25:44 He says, "Give me this mountain." 25:47 He believed that with faith he could overcome a mountain. 25:52 Joshua blessed him. 25:53 Caleb led the children of Judah. 25:55 They conquered the giants. 25:57 And the reason the Jews settled in where are we now say 26:00 Jerusalem is is because that old man had faith that he could 26:04 overcome mountains and giants because all things are possible 26:07 with God. 26:08 Friends, don't underestimate what you can do. 26:10 Don't give the devil the glory. 26:12 Jesus said that he can set you free. 26:14 He can save you from your sins and cast that mountain 26:17 into the depths of the sea. 26:19 Do you believe what Jesus promises?
