00:03 by the friends of the Amazing Facts Ministry. 00:06 ♪♪♪ 00:14 Doug Batchelor: When we reject the work of the Holy Spirit in 00:17 our lives we are basically burning the bridge that God uses 00:21 to bring us to salvation. 00:27 Doug Batchelor: You know, I'd like to go to a familiar passage 00:29 in John chapter 3, and it's the story where Nicodemus comes to 00:33 Jesus, and I'll begin with verse 1. 00:36 "There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a 00:40 ruler of the Jews, this man came to Jesus by night and he said, 00:45 'Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no 00:48 one can do these things that you do unless God is with them.'" 00:52 And Jesus, anticipating what was really on his heart, "He said to 00:55 him, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again he 01:01 cannot see the kingdom of God,'" We've got to know what that 01:04 means because he's pretty definite there. 01:07 "Nicodemus said to Him, 'How can a man be born 01:10 again when he's old? 01:12 Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and 01:14 be born?' 01:16 And, Jesus answered, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, unless 01:21 one is born of the water and the spirit, he cannot enter the 01:26 kingdom of God. 01:27 That which is born of flesh is flesh, and that which is born of 01:30 spirit is spirit. 01:32 Do not marvel that I say to you, "You must be born again," the 01:36 wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it but you 01:38 cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes; so is 01:42 everyone who is born of the spirit.'" 01:45 So that's what we're talking about, what does it mean to be 01:47 born of the spirit, and we want to discuss the importance of the 01:51 work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer, and the 01:55 necessity for us to have the Holy Spirit. 01:59 We not only want the initial refreshing that you get when you 02:02 commit your life to the Lord, when you're baptized you should 02:05 receive that gift of the spirit. 02:08 It says there in Acts chapter 2, "Peter told the believers, 02:11 'Repent and be baptized every one of you and you shall receive 02:15 the gift of the Holy Spirit, for the promise is unto you and your 02:19 children and many as the Lord God shall call.'" 02:22 So there's a promise, He gives us His spirit when we first come 02:24 to Him but then the spirit can come in waves. 02:29 Peter, James, John, they were baptized with the Holy Spirit, 02:32 probably by John the Baptist, I mean when they got baptized by 02:35 John the Baptist, but then they receive the Holy Spirit in 02:38 Pentecostal power at Pentecost, Acts chapter 2. 02:42 So we want that latter rain, baptism of the Holy Spirit, we 02:46 need it in the last days. 02:48 In the last days when sin abounds, God's grace does much 02:51 more abound. 02:52 When the spirit of the devil is come down with great wrath 02:55 because he knows his time is short, God's people, through the 02:59 power of God the Spirit, need to compensate and have a double 03:03 portion, as Elisha prayed for, of the Holy Spirit. 03:07 So we're gonna talk now about the biblical priority of the 03:11 Holy Spirit. 03:13 Some people are a little dismissive about the importance 03:15 of the Holy Spirit, they don't talk about it, they don't preach 03:18 about it, and the Bible makes a priority of it. 03:21 In the beginning, you go to Genesis and it says, "The Spirit 03:24 of God moved upon the face of the waters," go to the end of 03:28 the Bible where you see Revelation and it tells us, "The 03:31 Spirit and the bride say, 'Come.'" 03:34 The ministry of Jesus begins, he comes out of the water, he is 03:37 anointed with the Holy Spirit and then, after Christ dies and 03:41 ascends to heaven, his final words are, "Go ye therefore, 03:45 teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, 03:48 and the Son, and the Holy Spirit." 03:51 So you see this priority that God gives to the Holy spirit 03:54 through the Bible. 03:56 Now, I should probably pause here and say, who, what is the 04:00 Holy Spirit? 04:01 Now, I mentioned that like that not because the Holy Spirit is a 04:04 what, but some people talk about the Holy Spirit like 04:07 it's electricity. 04:08 Biblically, the Holy Spirit is a person, He has all of the 04:13 characteristics of the person, He is the third person in 04:16 the Godhead. 04:18 Acts chapter 5, verse 3, "Peter said, 'Ananias, why has Satan 04:23 filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit? 04:26 You've not lied to men but to God.'" 04:30 Peter was telling Ananias you didn't lie to some electrical 04:33 force, some radiation or x-ray, you lied to God 'cause the Holy 04:38 Spirit is the Spirit of God, it is a separate individual. 04:43 In Acts chapter 7, verse 51, it says, "You do resist the 04:48 Holy Spirit." 04:50 Ephesians 4, verse 30, "Do not grieve the Holy Spirit," 04:54 grieving is an emotion of anguish, it says the Holy Spirit 04:57 can be grieved. 04:59 1 Thessalonians 5:19, "Do not quench the Spirit," the Spirit 05:04 of God burns within our hearts and we can quench his work by 05:08 resisting him, that's how you lead on towards the sin against 05:12 the Holy Spirit. 05:13 Acts 13, verse 2, it says, "As they prayed and fasted, the Holy 05:17 Spirit said," Holy Spirit's speaking as a person speaks. 05:21 Notice here, the Holy Spirit speaks, He intercedes, Romans 05:26 8:26, I'm just gonna give these to you quickly 'cause I don't 05:28 have time to read them all. 05:29 He commands, Acts 16:6 and 7, He appoints, Acts 20, verse 28, He 05:35 leads, Romans 8:14, He reproves, John 16:8. 05:40 The Holy Spirit has intellect, emotions, will, He can be 05:43 grieved, He has everything that a personality would have, He 05:48 doesn't have a body. 05:49 Now this is where it gets a little complicated, people have 05:52 a hard time as humans, that even Jesus said, "God is a spirit," 05:57 we try to package God in our terms and it's 06:00 so incomprehensible. 06:02 Now God the Father and Son, evidently, have a form because 06:04 it describes Their eyes and Their hands and Their feet and 06:08 many other facets, but with the Holy Spirit, the spirit comes 06:13 down like a dove on Jesus at His baptism; Holy Spirit comes down 06:17 like tongues of fire at Pentecost; Holy Spirit comes 06:21 like wind, and so sometimes the Holy Spirit's compared to water; 06:26 it's more of these quintesent elements that we see that are 06:32 figurative of the Holy Spirit. 06:34 And so there's something mysterious here, but keep in 06:37 mind the Holy Spirit is a person, Jesus said, "It's 06:40 expedient that I go away; if I go, I will send the comforter 06:43 and He will be with you, He will be in you." 06:45 So Christ is with us through God the Spirit, Christ comes from 06:50 the Father to reveal God the Father, God the Father is a 06:54 separate person revealed through Christ, and Jesus is revealed to 06:58 us through the Holy Spirit. 07:01 So, second point here is a good relationship with the Holy 07:07 Spirit is a life and death issue. 07:10 John, 1 John 5:16, bible tells us, "There is a sin leading to 07:16 death, and I do not say that you should pray about that." 07:20 And people often wonder, why would it be considered more 07:23 dangerous to sin against the Holy Spirit than to sin against 07:28 the Father or the Son? 07:29 And that's based on these verses, let me read this to you 07:31 from Matthew chapter 12, verse 31. 07:34 "Therefore I say unto you, every sin and blasphemy will be 07:38 forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be 07:42 forgiven men. 07:43 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be 07:46 forgiven him, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will 07:50 not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come." 07:55 That's pretty serious, why is that? 07:58 Well you see, the Holy Spirit is the person of the Godhead that 08:00 brings us to conviction that leads us to repentance, when we 08:04 reject the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives we are 08:08 basically burning the bridge that God uses to bring us to 08:12 salvation; and so that's why it's so important not to grieve, 08:16 not to chase away the Holy Spirit when He's bringing 08:19 conviction to us. 08:21 Now I need to stop right here and explain, if you're wondering 08:24 if you've committed the unpardonable sin, probably not, 08:26 because the very fact you're listening to this program shows 08:29 you still have some spiritual appetite but don't continue to 08:33 resist the conviction and the work of the Spirit in your life, 08:36 that is a dangerous thing to do. 08:38 For three and a half years, Judas wrestled with the idea 08:42 that he should confess his sin to Jesus, that he should forsake 08:46 his sin of stealing, he had been robbing money from the poor the 08:49 whole time. 08:51 And when Jesus knelt to wash his feet there in the upper room, I 08:54 think Judas's heart nearly broke, he wanted to tell the 08:57 Lord what he had done, he wanted to confess and come clean, but 09:00 in his pride he kept putting it off and putting it off and the 09:03 Holy Spirit left him for the last time. 09:06 It says, "Satan entered him" at that point, that's why it's such 09:09 a dangerous thing to continue to reject the work of the Holy 09:12 Spirit; so we need to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit. 09:16 Hebrews chapter 6, and this verse frightens people, Hebrews 09:19 chapter 6, verse 4, "For it is impossible for those who were 09:24 once enlightened and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have 09:27 become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good 09:31 word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall 09:35 away, to renew them again to repentance, seeing they crucify 09:38 again for themselves the Son of God and put him to an 09:41 open shame." 09:42 If, over the course of our life, we reject the best that God has 09:45 to offer, which is what this is saying, what more is he going 09:48 to do? 09:50 He tells us, look, I gave my son, if that doesn't touch your 09:53 heart what more can God do? 09:55 And so be very careful about rejecting God's best because it 10:00 can get where we don't appreciate the plan 10:01 of salvation. 10:03 Three, we need the Holy Spirit for life, for eternal life. 10:08 Romans 8, verse 6, "For to be carnally minded is death, but to 10:14 be spiritually minded is life and peace." 10:18 Staying in Romans go to verse 9, Romans 8, verse 9, "But you are 10:22 not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of 10:26 God dwells in you. 10:27 Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ he is not his," 10:32 and if you are not Jesus's, then Jesus said, "If you are not with 10:35 Me you are against Me." 10:37 There's only two masters, there's only two roads, you're 10:40 either with Christ-- you might think, "Well I'm in some, you 10:43 know, spiritual Switzerland, I'm neutral." 10:45 No, if you're not with Christ, He said, "You're against Me," 10:48 that means you're with the enemy, you're with the devil. 10:51 Hate to say it that way but that's what Jesus said, he said, 10:54 "If you do not have the Spirit of Christ then you are none 10:57 of His." 10:58 Romans 8:13, "For if you live after the flesh you will die, 11:02 but if through the Spirit, you mortify the deeds of the body, 11:07 you will live." 11:09 The Bible tells us that this is a life and death issue, it's not 11:13 optional, it's not that you say, "Well I want to be a Christian, 11:16 I'm not sure I'm gonna be a spirit-filled Christian, I just 11:18 want to be at a sorta okie dokie Christian." 11:21 God is calling everybody to be Spirit-filled, if you're not 11:26 Spirit-filled then what is it? 11:29 I remember Thomas Edison, he illustrated that one time he, he 11:32 told his scientists to measure the volume in one of his light 11:37 bulbs, and they went and got their calculators and started 11:39 doing calculus formulas and geometry, he said, "What are 11:43 you guys doing?" 11:44 They said, "We're trying to figure out how to measure the 11:46 volume in this bulb," and he said, he took the bulb, took the 11:51 cap off the bottom, filled it with water, took it over, put it 11:53 in a square pitcher, said, "Now measure it," they said, "Oh, so 11:58 the way that you get the air out is by pouring the water in." 12:03 If we want to get the devil and the world out of our lives, we 12:06 need to be filled with something else; you cannot be filled with 12:11 the Spirit if you're full of other things. 12:12 So the way to be ready to receive the Spirit is to empty 12:16 yourself, to choose to let go, you come to the place where you 12:20 take up your cross and you say, "Lord, not my will, Thy will 12:24 be done." 12:25 Jesus said, "If you seek to save your life you will lose it, but 12:29 if for Christ's sake you let go, then you will find your life; 12:34 and what profit is it if you gain the whole world and you 12:37 lose your soul?" 12:38 So beginning as a Christian really starts with emptying 12:41 yourself so that God can fill you with what really lasts, and 12:47 that's the Holy Spirit. 12:49 Doug Batchelor: Don't go anywhere, friends. 12:50 In just a moment we'll return with the rest 12:52 of today's presentation. 12:55 Have you ever heard the theory that Jesus's second coming will 12:58 be preceded by a sudden global disappearance of Christians? 13:03 It's a subject of several popular books and movies, 13:06 but is it true? 13:08 Will all believers secretly be raptured away before 13:11 the great tribulation? 13:13 What if I told you this is not what early Christians believed 13:17 and that the Bible teaches something entirely different 13:20 and I can prove it? 13:21 Wouldn't you want to examine the subject for yourself 13:23 and know the truth? 13:25 Now you can. 13:26 Amazing Facts wants to send you a free resource that sheds the 13:29 Bible light on this critical topic, 13:31 uncovering the truth about the origins 13:33 of this dangerous deception. 13:35 It's called "The Secret Rapture." 13:38 In this quick but in-depth booklet, 13:40 we'll not only equip you with the truth about 13:42 the second coming, it will bring you peace and hope 13:44 in these difficult times. 13:46 If that sounds good to you, then this is how you 13:49 can get your free copy. 13:50 Call the phone number on your screen and ask for offer number 13:53 180 or visit the web address, and after you read this 13:57 incredible resource, make sure and share it with a friend. 14:01 Well, let's get back to today's presentation and learn some more 14:04 amazing facts from the Word of God. 14:08 Doug Batchelor: Furthermore, point number four, we need the 14:11 Holy Spirit for obeying. 14:13 Romans 8, verse 13 and 14, "For if you live after the flesh you 14:18 will die, but if through the Spirit," now how do we do it? 14:22 We touched on this already but I want to emphasize this point, 14:25 "Through the Spirit you mortify," mortify means you 14:28 kill, "Through the Spirit you mortify the deeds of the body, 14:32 you will live. 14:33 For as many as are led by the Spirit they are the sons 14:37 of God." 14:38 In Ezekiel 36, verse 27, "I will put My spirit within you and 14:44 cause you," God says, "I will give you the Holy Spirit and I 14:47 will cause you to walk in My ways, and to keep My 14:50 commandments," now how does this all happen? 14:54 You know, the power really comes, the Holy Spirit gives us 14:57 the new heart, the new heart is a loving heart, it's a heart 15:01 where you love God and you love your neighbor. 15:05 Paul says, "Love is the fulfilling of the law," Jesus 15:09 says, "All of the commandments are fulfilled in this: that we 15:12 love one another," and it's all boiling down to loving the Lord. 15:17 And Jesus was quoting Deuteronomy chapter 6, when He 15:20 said, "Love the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul and 15:22 strength," and then Jesus quoted Leviticus chapter 19:18, when He 15:26 said, "Love your neighbor as yourself." 15:29 The first four commandments deal with our love relationship with 15:33 God; if we love God we're not gonna worship other gods; if we 15:38 love God we're not going to take His name in vain or miss our 15:41 time with Him or insult Him by likening Him to idols. 15:46 Likewise, if we love our neighbor, when God gives us this 15:49 new heart and the gift of love in our heart for God and our 15:52 fellow man, we're not going to steal from them or kill them or 15:56 rob them or steal their spouse, and you can go through the 15:59 litany of those last six commandments. 16:02 And so love is the fulfilling of the law, that's why Jesus said, 16:05 "If you love Me, keep My commandments, and I will pray 16:09 the Father and he will give you another Helper, that He might 16:12 abide with you forever-- the Spirit of truth, whom the world 16:16 cannot receive because it neither sees Him or knows Him, 16:21 but you know Him for He dwells in you and He will be with you." 16:26 Now this is sort of a double-sided sword, God gives 16:30 the Spirit to those that obey and God gives the Spirit so we 16:34 can obey. 16:36 Living the Christian life is frankly impossible without God, 16:40 following Jesus and living like Jesus is attempting an 16:44 impossibility without the Spirit of God. 16:47 I remember we were in Russia, 25 years ago, yeah, 1992, we went 16:53 right after the iron curtain fell and I went to the city of 16:56 Stavropol, and did some meetings there and we saw 16:58 something interesting. 17:00 The buses, the city busses were rather fall, and the busses 17:04 actually used tires but they're attached to overhead electricity 17:09 which means that the bus driver had the freedom to drive away 17:13 from the electricity, he had to stay kind of on a line that was 17:15 painted and he was relatively sure that this spring-loaded 17:19 mechanism was touching the wires up above. 17:22 Well this one bus driver went to turn a little wide and he got 17:25 disconnected, and he gave out a shout and a bunch of people got 17:30 out of the bus. 17:32 I mean, the thing was just dead in the water stopping all the 17:34 traffic, and we watched the people piled out of the bus, 17:36 they got behind the bus, they started pushing the bus back 17:40 into the right line. 17:41 The driver had a pole, I guess this happened more than once, he 17:44 reached up with his insulated pole, he pulled the 17:46 spring-loaded mechanism back underneath the power, everything 17:49 with back up again, they all climbed back on the bus and they 17:52 took off. 17:53 Well, that's that's the key, you want to be connected to 17:57 the power. 17:58 Now what would you think if the driver told everybody to get out 18:00 of the bus, and say, "We're going to push our way through 18:02 the rest of our bus stops today?" 18:05 That wouldn't make any sense but this is how so many Christians 18:08 operate, they're trying in their own strength without the love of 18:12 God, without the Spirit of God they're trying to push their way 18:15 through living a victorious Christian experience, where what 18:18 they have to do is connect with the power; and I'll tell you, 18:22 there's a lot of power in the Holy Spirit that's available 18:25 to us. 18:26 You read in the Bible, God gives us so many examples of 18:30 extraordinary power. 18:32 The Spirit of the Lord comes on Samson, and one man, you know he 18:36 takes on 1,000. 18:37 Not only did it happen with Samson, it happened with David's 18:40 mighty men, it happened with David and Goliath, and the bear 18:42 and the lion, so the Spirit can give you whatever strength you 18:47 need for the task. 18:48 "God is faithful, He will not suffer you to be tempted above 18:52 what you're able, but will with the temptation provide a way 18:55 of escape." 18:57 Whatever temptation you face, you know, God told Paul, "My 19:01 grace is sufficient," He will, through the Spirit, give you 19:05 whatever you need. 19:06 So you never need to say, "It was too much, I couldn't handle 19:08 it," through Christ you can do anything. 19:11 You can't live the Christian life, you can't walk on water, 19:14 but if you keep your eyes on Christ, you can walk on water 19:18 just like Peter did, that's the key. 19:21 It's impossible to live the Christian life unless God works 19:24 a miracle and you keep your eyes on Christ, then you can do 19:27 the impossible. 19:29 We need the Holy Spirit for instruction and for guidance. 19:34 John 6:63, "It is the Spirit that quickens, the flesh profits 19:39 nothing; the words that I speak to you they are spirit and they 19:43 are life." 19:45 John 14:26, "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father 19:49 will send in My name, He," notice again the He, "He will 19:53 teach you all things, and He will bring to your remembrance 19:57 all things of what I have said." 20:01 You know, you have God the Father, God the Son, God the 20:03 Spirit connected with Jesus's baptism, when Christ began His 20:06 life of ministry, all persons of the Godhead we're involved in 20:10 that, and all the persons of the Godhead are involved in our 20:13 conversion, but God then brings the Spirit into our lives. 20:18 "When Christ came out of the water, He was led of the 20:21 Spirit," the Bible says, and He began to perform His miracles at 20:24 that time because a new power came into His life, so we need 20:28 it for instruction. 20:29 Holy Spirit's never gonna tell us anything to contradict what 20:32 the holy Word says, he will bring the word to 20:35 our remembrance. 20:36 John 16, verse 13, "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, 20:40 has come, He will guide you into all truth. 20:43 He will not speak on His own authority but whatever He hears 20:47 He will speak, and He will tell you things to come." 20:51 You'll hear that still small voice and God will guide you, 20:54 He'll say, "This is the way, walk ye in it." 20:57 1 Corinthians 2, verse 14, "But the natural man does not receive 21:01 the things of the Spirit, for they're foolishness to him, nor 21:05 can he know them because they're spiritually discerned." 21:07 Even to understand the Bible we need the Holy Spirit, to 21:11 understand the Book that was inspired by the Holy Spirit, 21:15 Bible says, "Holy men were moved by the Holy Spirit," how much 21:19 then do you need the Holy spirit to understand the holy Word? 21:22 Pray before you read the Bible, God will speak to you. 21:24 Not only does faith come by hearing the Word, I think the 21:27 Holy Spirit comes through us as we read the Word and we pray for 21:31 the Holy Spirit to better understand it. 21:34 That's why Jesus said that prayer, "He that has an ear, let 21:38 him hear what the Spirit says to the churches," and the word here 21:41 there means not just to audibly hear it but to be willing to 21:45 obey and to listen. 21:47 I was reading a book about these men that were crossing Saudi 21:50 Arabia and sometimes, the Arabs, you know, they pretty much saw 21:53 their way around by the stars at night but sometimes they'd be in 21:57 a sandstorm where they couldn't see the sun, moon, or stars. 22:00 On occasions like this, some of the caravan leaders carried with 22:04 them a homing pigeon, and to the homing pigeon's foot they tied a 22:08 long strong thread, and when they were lost in a storm they 22:13 would release the pigeon who would fly in a circle for just a 22:16 moment, and he would tug in the perfect direction they needed to 22:19 go; they had this built in GPS somehow that homing pigeons know 22:24 exactly what direction to go, and that would guide them. 22:28 So as we've got God's Spirit, that dove, He directs us, He 22:32 helps us know which way to go. 22:34 We need the Holy Spirit for effective praying, we must pray 22:39 for the Holy Spirit and yet we need the Spirit to pray. 22:42 Luke 11:13, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good 22:47 gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father 22:50 give the Holy Spirit to those that ask?" 22:52 So, start out and pray for the Holy Spirit. 22:55 When I kneel in the morning to begin my devotions, I get down 22:58 and pray right there and say, "Lord, please give me Your 23:00 Spirit so I even know what I ought to pray for." 23:03 And it's like you read in Romans 8:26, "Likewise the Spirit also 23:09 helps us in our weakness, for we do not know what we should pray 23:12 for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for 23:17 us with groanings that cannot be uttered." 23:20 You know, I like singing, like a lot of people I like singing but 23:22 I may not have the best voice but I like singing surrounded by 23:27 people that do sing, I sound so much better. 23:30 I feel better about my singing when I've got them around me to 23:33 help keep me on key and that's the way it is with the 23:36 Holy Spirit. 23:37 We pray with the Spirit to Christ, praying in the Spirit. 23:42 In Ephesians chapter 6, verse 18, "Praying always with all 23:46 prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this 23:50 end with all perseverance and supplication for all 23:53 the saints." 23:55 Notice, all-all-all, Bible says, "Pray without ceasing." 23:57 So you know a Christian should be praying for the Spirit, 24:00 talking to someone about the Lord, you don't know what to 24:02 say, send up a prayer; driving in your car, pray to stay 24:06 connected to the Spirit. 24:08 You know when bats go out, now some bats fly at night and some 24:11 bats fly in the day, but bats use sonar, and you can't hear it 24:16 but they are constantly squeaking, with special 24:18 instruments they can pick it up. 24:20 And bats are constantly squeaking this very 24:23 ultra-high-frequency that they can hear with their very 24:25 sensitive ears and some of the bats that fly at night, and 24:29 their eyes are virtual vestigial remnants, they can't even 24:31 hardly see. 24:34 They map everywhere they're going, they can spot bugs in the 24:38 air from the sound but they have to constantly keep singing, they 24:43 constantly keep making that noise so they can constantly 24:46 calibrate where they are. 24:48 As soon as they stop, they get lost and crash into things, and 24:52 that's how it is. 24:54 We don't want to lose our spiritual vocal cords because 24:56 it's through our constantly calibrating where we are in 25:00 God's will, through the Spirit, through connecting with prayer. 25:03 It's the Spirit that helps us to pray and pray for all of the 25:07 Spirit that you can possibly get, this city-slicker moved to 25:12 the country and he wanted to be a real country boy so he asked 25:15 his neighbor if he could buy a milk cow, neighbor had several 25:18 milk cows at his dairy, said sure, sold him a milk cow. 25:22 Few weeks later, he said, "You know that milk cow you sold me, 25:25 not putting out very much milk," he said, "At first, it seemed 25:28 like there's plenty of milk," and he said, "Now I'm hardly get 25:31 in any." 25:32 He said, "Well you've been milking it twice a day, right?" 25:34 "Well no," said, "Sometimes I don't need that much, so 25:37 sometimes I just need a pitcher, sometimes we just need a cup 25:40 or two." 25:42 And the farmer said, "Man, if you want that cow to keep 25:44 supplying milk, you gotta milk it for all you can get at least 25:48 twice a day every day." 25:50 And don't be satisfied with a little Spirit, because you're 25:54 going to get what you ask for, pray for the baptism of the Holy 25:58 Spirit and pray for it every day. 26:00 Bible tells us that, "We should ask the Lord rain in the time of 26:04 the latter rain." 26:06 How do we get that experience, friends? 26:08 Ask. 26:10 "If you are evil and you give good gifts to your children, how 26:13 much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy spirit to 26:16 those who ask?" 26:17 Keep knocking, keep seeking, keep asking, every day plead for 26:21 the Spirit, and I believe we'll receive the latter 26:24 rain, friends. 26:25 Make room in your heart and you can do that right now. 26:32 male announcer: Don't forget to request today's life-changing 26:34 free resource. 26:36 Not only can you receive this free gift in the mail, you can 26:38 download a digital copy straight to your computer or 26:41 mobile device. 26:42 To get your digital copy of today's free gift, simply text 26:45 the keyword on your screen to 40544, or visit the web address 26:50 shown on your screen, and be sure to select a digital 26:53 download option on the request page. 26:55 It's now easier than ever for you to study God's word with 26:58 "Amazing Facts" wherever and whenever you want, and most 27:02 important, to share it with others. 27:06 male announcer: You can become a Bible expert with the "Amazing 27:09 Facts" Storacles of Prophecy Bible study experience. 27:12 Now available in 18 languages, these 24 easy-to-read lessons 27:16 will give you confidence about what the Bible really says about 27:20 last day prophecy, the afterlife, and so much more. 27:23 Even better, it's absolutely free, at Storacles.com. 27:28 Don't miss out, get the answers you need for a happier, 27:31 healthier life today, at Storacles.com. 27:36 female announcer: Did you know Amazing Facts has a free 27:38 Bible school that you can do from the 27:40 comfort of your own home? 27:42 It includes 27 study lessons to aid in your study 27:44 of God's Word. 27:46 Sign up today by calling 1-844-215-7000. 27:50 That's 1-844-215-7000. 27:54 ♪♪♪ 27:59 male announcer: Don't forget to request today's free offer, it's 28:01 sure to be a blessing. 28:03 And thank you for your continued support as we take the gospel of 28:07 Jesus Christ to the World. 28:08 We hope you'll join us next week, as we delve deep into the 28:12 Word of God, to explore more "Amazing Facts." 28:15 ♪♪♪ 28:23 male announcer: This presentation was brought to you 28:25 by the friends of the Amazing Facts Ministry. |
