00:06 announcer: Coming to you from New York City at the historic 00:10 Manhattan Center with your host Doug Batchelor. 00:13 Join this exciting journey of discovery as we learn the truth 00:17 about Bible prophecy. 00:19 Explore the timeless wisdom of God's Word and see how it 00:23 relates to our lives today. 00:25 Stay tuned. 00:27 Your "Amazing Facts" adventure begins now. 00:30 Doug Batchelor: Welcome back, friends. 00:32 In our last episode, we learned about the assurance, purpose, 00:36 and the many signs of Christ's soon return. 00:39 Today we'll continue our exciting study about Jesus' 00:43 Second Coming, learning how to not be deceived 00:46 by false Christs, and revealing exactly how 00:49 the Lord returns and what really happens 00:52 to our planet when He does. 00:54 Remember, if you'd like to deepen your Bible knowledge, 00:57 check out our Prophecy Odyssey Bible lessons and our 01:00 free offer. 01:02 I'll tell you more about how you can get those resources later in 01:04 the program. 01:06 Okay, it's time to get into today's presentation. 01:09 Doug: For years, I think National Geographic had a 01:11 program called Doomsday Preppers, and they always made 01:14 fun of kind of these, you know, folks out there in the country 01:17 that were walking around with their tin foil hats and their 01:20 guns and talking about the end of the world. 01:22 But it's not those people now, friends. 01:23 It's thinking people that realize that we're on the cusp 01:27 of what could be catastrophic. 01:29 And they're wondering: "How can we save ourselves?" 01:32 Well, friends, this meeting is going to tell you how you can 01:34 be saved. 01:36 And that's not going to be a Doomsday Bunker. 01:40 It is going to be a shelter, and the Lord is our shelter. 01:45 He is the way that we are going to survive. 01:47 He is a mighty rock in a weary land, amen? 01:50 "A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right 01:54 hand, but it will not come nigh unto you," that's Psalm 91, 01:57 "Because you've made the most high your habitation. 02:00 No plague will come nigh your dwelling." 02:01 God can protect you through all of this. 02:03 Now, not only are they looking for bunkers and going down in 02:06 the ground, but these billionaires are also looking at 02:08 going up in the sky. 02:11 Boeing, you know, a contractor, their space program is having 02:15 problems right now, so they're turning to private companies. 02:18 And you got people, like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Richard 02:22 Branson, where there's space companies, and you ask them: 02:26 "Why are you building space companies?" 02:29 If you ask Elon Musk, he says: "The future of our world's 02:31 looking pretty bleak." 02:32 He said: "My goal is to die on Mars." 02:37 And they're saying: "We're looking for colonization that is 02:41 out of this world or on a space station," because they're afraid 02:45 for what the future of the world might be. 02:49 And you got SpaceX and Blue Origin and all the 02:53 different companies. 02:55 And, frankly, I'd love to take a trip up there. 02:56 That would be rather interesting. 02:58 Here's some of the other reasons I think Jesus is coming soon 03:01 that get me so excited: "Increase in knowledge." 03:05 Do you know the Bible foretold that? 03:07 You read in Daniel chapter 12, verse 4, 03:10 the prophet there said: "But you, 03:12 o Daniel," the angel's speaking to Daniel, 03:14 "shut up the words, and seal the book 03:16 until the time of the end; 03:18 many will run to and fro, 03:20 and knowledge will increase." 03:22 You notice he didn't say, wisdom will increase, because people 03:24 aren't much wiser. 03:26 Knowledge, like technology, "knowledge has increased." 03:30 If I took my smartphone and I showed it to the Apostle Peter. 03:36 I said: "Peter, come here, I want to show you something. 03:39 I know you're in Israel. 03:41 Paul's in Rome right now. 03:42 Would you like to talk to him?" 03:45 That would have blown him away, just the telephone. 03:46 Say: "You want to look at him while you talk to him? 03:50 Do you want to upload a recipe to him? 03:54 Maybe you'd like to do a Zoom call with the whole church. 03:58 Would you like to look at Google Maps and see how to get there 04:01 the quickest?" 04:03 They would think you're a witch, right? 04:07 You know, my grandfather was born in New York City. 04:10 Matter of fact, he was born in Harlem. 04:12 It was a lot of Jewish people on my mother's side, all Jewish, 04:16 and he was born by candlelight, my grandfather. 04:19 They were riding horses--I guess, you still have some 04:20 horses left, right? 04:22 But they were riding horses around New York City. 04:25 Look at how the world has changed in one lifetime. 04:29 He said: "Many will run to and fro and knowledge 04:31 will increase." 04:33 People are running to and fro now more than they ever had. 04:36 You just consider the increase in knowledge. 04:38 I mean, just look at what's happened in the past century 04:41 with everything from the automobile, 04:43 the airplane, the radio, 04:44 penicillin, a moon landing, 04:46 space stations. 04:48 Technology is exploding exponentially now. 04:51 They say that all of the knowledge of man we've learned 04:55 more in the last ten years then all of the knowledge--all of the 04:57 history of man combined. 04:59 And now with AI, and it's a double-edged sword like the 05:03 internet, and like all communications, it can be used 05:06 for good or evil, but it's pretty scary what it'll do: 05:13 "Global evangelization," 05:15 now this gets me really excited. 05:17 Jesus said: "One of the signs before 05:18 he comes back," Matthew 24, verse 14: 05:21 "And this gospel of the kingdom will be PREACHED 05:24 in all the world for a witness unto all nations, 05:28 and then, the end will come." 05:31 Just think about what's happening right here in New 05:33 York City. 05:35 And, you know, we've got a modest crowd compared with 05:37 what's happening around the world. 05:38 There are tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of 05:41 people that are participating right now, or they will tomorrow 05:45 because of the time change, and wherever we go in the world 05:50 now--it's amazing. 05:51 I go to the Middle East and people live in a tent, and 05:55 there's a satellite dish coming up out of the tent. 05:58 And goats are going in and out of the front door, but they got 06:01 a satellite TV. 06:04 It's the truth. 06:06 Karen and I were in New Guinea, and we're out 06:09 in the jungle of New Guinea. 06:10 We took our film crew. 06:12 We said: "We want to get," like, you know, we get way out 06:14 in the hills and get in the typical, you know, beautiful 06:16 native hut with a garden. 06:18 And we finally found this person. 06:19 And through a translator, we said: "Will they mind if we come 06:21 and do a little video tape?" 06:23 And they talked to him in Pidgin English, and they said: "No, 06:25 they're happy to have you come out." 06:27 And so Karen and I and our crew, we got out of the car, walked 06:29 over, and the lady of the house, she looked at me and her 06:32 mouth fell. 06:34 She looked like she saw a ghost. 06:35 She began to jabber really quick in Pidgin, and she 06:39 looked terrified. 06:41 And the translator came over and said: "She watches your programs 06:45 every week. 06:47 She never dreamed you'd be in her country. 06:49 She never dreamed you'd be in her front yard." 06:52 And we gave her a big hug. 06:54 It was such a neat experience. 06:56 But it's, like, the Gospel's going all over the world in 06:59 Amazing Facts, you know, we're one ministry. 07:02 There's other Christians doing it. 07:04 Jesus said: "The gospel will go, and then, the end will come." 07:08 He didn't say, it might come. 07:10 He didn't say, everyone would believe. 07:12 He said: "It will go as a witness so they have 07:14 an opportunity." 07:16 All the stuff that's happening in New York City tonight, you 07:19 folks decided to come and to hear what really matters in 07:23 life, how to live forever, and what is the purpose of life. 07:26 Thank you for coming. 07:29 This Gospel we preach in all the world, it's happening now. 07:33 "Today, almost with instant global internet, satellite 07:36 communication, smartphones, rapid international travel, the 07:39 fulfillment of this prophecy is within reach in this 07:42 generation," friends. 07:44 Number four, "What solemn warning does Jesus give about 07:47 His Second Coming?" 07:49 "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am Christ,' and 07:52 will," what? 07:54 "DECEIVE." 07:55 We want to avoid being deceived. 07:59 He said--Jesus says Matthew 24:24: "False Christs and false 08:04 PROPHETS will rise and show great signs and wonders to 08:08 deceive, if possible, even the very elect," very convincing 08:11 signs and wonders. 08:13 He said: "I'm telling you in advance," Jesus said: 08:14 "'I'm prophesying. 08:16 I'm telling you.' 08:17 Therefore if they say, 'Look, He's in the desert!'" 08:19 that might be the Middle East, "'do not go out;' 08:22 'Look, He's in inner rooms. 08:23 Do NOT BELIEVE it." 08:25 Cause when Christ comes, it says it's like lightning. 08:27 Everyone's going to know, right? 08:29 I don't know if you've ever met a false Christ. 08:31 Probably if you live in the city, you've met several. 08:35 When I was living in the mountains up in a cave, I was 08:39 living like a hermit for about a year and a half. 08:42 And one day into my cave yard, this hiker came. 08:46 And the guy was about 6 feet tall, handsome man, 08:52 shoulder-length auburn hair, beard, hazel eyes. 08:57 There's no one up there, but me. 08:59 He sat and he talked to me for a minute or two, and then he said: 09:01 "I'm Jesus." 09:04 Well, at first I thought: "I've got some Spanish friends 09:07 named Jesus. 09:09 Maybe he meant to say, 'I'm Jesus.'" 09:12 And so I inquired a little more, and he said: "No, I am Jesus. 09:18 And that kind of rattled me a little bit because I just 09:20 started reading the Bible. 09:22 And then I thought: "Oh, I'm up here in the mountains with 09:25 either Jesus or someone crazy." 09:28 And I thought: "What do I do? 09:30 So if it is Jesus, I don't want to hurt his feelings." 09:33 So I was a little bit cautious in my answer. 09:35 I said: "Now, if you're Jesus, didn't you say that when you 09:41 come, it's in the clouds, and everyone's going to see?" 09:44 He said: "Well, yes, that's for most people, but I'm coming 09:46 specially to prepare some other people." 09:48 He knew his Bible. 09:50 He had an answer for everything. 09:52 And--but I knew something wasn't right, especially after he 09:56 stayed with me for three days and ate all my food and didn't 09:58 do any work. 10:01 I knew Jesus wouldn't do that. 10:04 And then I kicked him out. 10:05 I had to evict Jesus. 10:08 And then a few days later, I saw him down in Palm Springs, and he 10:11 had found an apostle. 10:12 This tall hippie was following around going: "This is Jesus." 10:16 A few days later, I saw him again in town, and he was 10:19 missing his front tooth. 10:21 And I felt so, you know, I felt bad for him, but I felt good for 10:24 me 'cause I thought I know Jesus has all his teeth. 10:25 I was sure then it wasn't Jesus at that point. 10:29 But the false Christ in the last days are going to be 10:32 very convincing. 10:33 They're not going to be just deranged people. 10:36 Number five: "What will prevent the righteous from 10:39 being deceived?" 10:41 What is the answer, friends? 10:43 The Word of God: "To the law and the testimony!" 10:45 That means the law and the prophets, the Word of God, the 10:48 New and the Old Testament: "To the law and the testimony! 10:51 If they do not speak according to THIS WORD, it is because 10:54 there is no light in them." 10:55 We're going to be showing you from the Word of God how you can 10:58 separate the wheat from the tares, the true from the 11:01 false, amen? 11:02 "Thy Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." 11:06 So we're talking now, not just about Jesus coming soon, now 11:09 we're talking about how He's coming. 11:11 Let me tell you why that's important. 11:14 When Jesus came the first time as a baby, were His people, the 11:19 nation of Israel, were they all ready and waiting with banners 11:22 saying: "He's here." 11:24 Did they have the Bible? 11:26 They had their prophecies. 11:28 Did they misunderstand the prophecies? 11:31 And they were not ready for His first coming. 11:33 Has the devil changed or is it possible he's going to do 11:37 that again? 11:38 And a lot of the church now is expecting Jesus to come in a way 11:41 He didn't say He's coming, so they're not going to be ready. 11:44 The devil's trying to deceive a whole generation of Bible-toting 11:48 people just like he did before, so they're not ready for the 11:51 Second Coming. 11:52 So we need to know something about how He's coming. 11:55 The Bible says: "The Lord Himself will descend," this is 11:58 1 Thessalonians 4:16, "He'll descend from heaven with 12:01 a," what? 12:03 "A SHOUT, with the voice of the archangel, and the TRUMPET 12:07 of God." 12:08 Now there are, let me just make a little disclaimer, there are 12:12 good, spirit-filled, heaven-bound Christians in many 12:15 different churches, y'all hearing me? 12:18 I've had the privilege of preaching in Methodist churches, 12:21 Nazarene churches, Pentecostal churches, Baptist churches, Four 12:23 Square churches, and I've met lovely people in many different 12:27 denominations, and I'm not wanting to say anything to 12:30 offend anybody. 12:32 Clearly, they disagree on different points. 12:34 We all know that. 12:35 I think we can love each other and disagree on some 12:38 points, amen? 12:39 But I'm going to tell you what I believe the Bible teaches. 12:42 The idea that the rapture, I believe the rapture that we're 12:45 going to be caught up, but I don't believe it's a secret. 12:49 The idea of the secret rapture is a relatively new teaching. 12:53 For 1900 years, the church believed in a glorious, visible, 12:56 loud, obvious coming of the Lord. 13:00 And you might be thinking: "Well, doesn't the Bible say 13:02 He's coming quietly like a thief?" 13:04 It does, 2 Peter chapter 3, verse 10, let me quote it to 13:08 you: "The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night." 13:13 Some people stop right there. 13:16 They say: "Yeah, He's going to come. 13:18 The saints are raptured before the Tribulation. 13:20 Then there's seven years of Tribulation, and the church 13:22 doesn't have to worry at all about the plagues or the 13:24 Tribulation because we've been caught up because He came like 13:27 a thief." 13:28 They don't keep reading the verse: "The day of the Lord will 13:32 come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens will pass away 13:35 with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent 13:39 heat, and the earth and the works that are in it will be 13:42 burned up. 13:44 Seeing then that all these things will be dissolved, how 13:48 should we live in all holy conversation and godliness, 13:52 Looking forward to the coming of the day of God, in which the 13:55 heavens being on fire will be dissolved, and the elements will 13:57 melt with fervent heat?" 13:59 Yeah, He's coming as a thief, but when He comes as a thief, 14:01 it's not going to be good down here. 14:04 It says: "He'll come with a shout, with a trumpet." 14:08 All Christians believe in the Tribulation, and all people 14:12 believe we're going to be caught up, but the big disagreement is 14:15 on when. 14:17 So let me address that quickly. 14:20 Does Jesus say: "He that endures to the end will be saved?" 14:24 If the church is all caught up before the Tribulation, why do 14:26 we need to endure? 14:29 "We're the children of Israel." 14:31 By the way, the Great Tribulation is also the same as 14:34 the Seven Last Plagues in Revelation 15 and 16. 14:37 That's the Great Tribulation. 14:39 It says so in the Bible. 14:41 The children of Israel, were they in Egypt when the ten 14:44 plagues fell on Egypt? 14:46 God protected them through the last seven plagues. 14:51 First three plagues, they went through with the Egyptians. 14:52 The last seven, they were protected. 14:56 Will He protect us through the seven last plagues 14:58 in Revelation? 14:59 He will, but they were in Egypt, and He protected them. 15:03 Now that's why He said: "No plague will come nigh 15:05 your dwelling. 15:06 Only with your eyes will you see to your right and your left the 15:09 punishment of the wicked." 15:10 Did God save Noah from the flood or through the flood? 15:14 Through the flood. 15:15 Did God save Job from his trials or through his trials? 15:20 Did God save Joseph from his troubles or did He save him 15:23 through his troubles? 15:25 Doesn't the Bible say: "Paul," Acts chapter 14: "It is through 15:30 Tribulation we enter the kingdom of God." 15:33 I'd love to believe we're all going get raptured out before 15:35 the Tribulation, friends. 15:36 That'd be much easier. 15:38 If we get to heaven and I'm wrong, I'll apologize, but I 15:40 don't find it in the Bible. 15:42 I think God tells us: "Now we need to fortify our faith so 15:46 that we can stand." 15:47 Jesus says: "Pray that you be found worthy to escape all these 15:51 things and stand before the Son of Man when he comes." 15:54 Now, let's find out what the Bible says, fair enough? 15:57 All right, keep going. 15:59 Jeremiah 25: "The Lord will roar from on high, and utter His 16:03 voice from His holy habitation; He will roar mightily against 16:06 His fold. 16:08 He will give a shout, as those that tread the grapes, against 16:10 all the inhabitants of the earth. 16:13 Our God shall come, and shall," what's it say? 16:16 "Shall NOT keep SILENT; a fire shall devour before Him, and it 16:22 will be very tempestuous all round about Him." 16:25 And I know that there's a lot of dear people that have been 16:28 taught through Tim LaHaye, good man, wrote that "Left Behind" 16:31 series, colorful. 16:33 Very first thing he says is: "This is a novel." 16:35 He doesn't say: "It's scriptural." 16:37 He said: "It's a novel." 16:39 And pilots are flying along, and all of a sudden, 16:41 co-pilot disappears. 16:42 They're both pilots, and the plane goes down because they 16:45 were raptured, and no one else was. 16:48 A man goes to talk to his wife, and she's not there, just her 16:51 clothes are there in the bed and her curlers because she's been 16:54 raptured, and he was left behind. 16:56 But he gets a second chance. 16:59 See, the devil is telling people: "You'll get a 17:01 second chance." 17:03 No friends, you got to get ready now for when Jesus comes. 17:07 Number seven: "Who will see Jesus when He returns?" 17:11 What does the Bible say: "Then the sign of the Son of Man will 17:15 appear in a heaven, and ALL the TRIBES of the earth will mourn, 17:20 and they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven 17:24 with power and great glory." 17:26 Revelation 1:7: "Behold, He's coming in the clouds, and," how 17:29 many eyes? 17:31 "EVERY EYE will see Him." 17:32 People always say: "How can--Pastor Doug, how can every 17:36 eye see Him on a round world?" 17:39 Doesn't say the same moment. 17:41 It means that day that He comes, He'll sweep around the earth. 17:44 Everybody will see Him that day. 17:47 Number eight: "Who will be with Jesus when He comes?" 17:51 "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the HOLY 17:56 ANGELS with Him." 17:59 Now, what was the glory of one angel like? 18:03 You know, the Bible says: "It's like lightning shining from the 18:05 east to the west," Matthew 24:27. 18:08 When Jesus came, one or two angels rolled away the stone, 18:12 I think one angel rolled away the stone, but the ladies looked 18:14 inside, they saw two angels, and "the glory of that one angel the 18:18 Roman guard fell down as though they were dead." 18:21 The Bible says in 1 Kings that "an angel of the Lord struck 18:27 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in one night," one angel. 18:33 "Angel of the Lord went through Egypt, destroyed the first 18:36 born," one angel. 18:38 When the Lord comes with all the angels, are you going to have to 18:42 call your friend in the morning and say: "Did you catch 18:43 that yesterday?" 18:45 "Yeah, all those angels, every angel in heaven." 18:49 "What will happen to the righteous at Jesus' coming?" 18:53 "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a 18:55 shout, the voice of the archangel." 18:57 We read this, but notice the second part: "And the dead in 19:00 Christ will," there's a resurrection. 19:03 The dead in Christ are rising when Christ comes. 19:05 And if you read in 1 Corinthians 15, He's talking about, when 19:08 does that happen: "At the coming of Christ at the last trump, for 19:12 the trumpet will sound," and we will come forth: "In a moment, 19:16 in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. 19:18 For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised 19:21 incorruptible," we have glorified bodies, "and we will 19:24 be CHANGED." 19:26 1 Thessalonians 4:17: "We are caught UP." 19:30 The Bible says, what direction do we go when He comes? 19:33 "We go up." 19:34 That's the rapture. 19:35 The rapture means to be caught up, means to be carried away 19:38 with power. 19:39 Number ten: "What other physical evidence will accompany 19:43 Jesus' return?" 19:45 You can see here: "And there were noises and thunderings and 19:50 lightnings; and there was a great," what? 19:53 "EARTHQUAKE, such as a mighty and a great earthquake has not 19:56 occurred," this is going to be 55 on the Richter scale. 20:00 Says every island disappears. 20:03 The mountains are not found. 20:05 Everybody's going to know about this. 20:08 Number 11: "What will the brightness of Jesus coming do to 20:12 the living who are wicked?" 20:14 Now you've got the dead in Christ and the living in Christ 20:16 are caught up. 20:17 What about the wicked? 20:19 What happens to them? 20:20 By the way, nobody here needs to be in this category. 20:23 You're here tonight because the Lord wants you to be in the 20:25 first group. 20:28 It says: "And to give you who are troubled rest with us when 20:32 the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 20:36 in FLAMING FIRE taking vengeance on those who do not know God." 20:43 The Bible says: "It's going to be like Lot. 20:45 They fled from the city and fire rained down from heaven." 20:48 I just read that to you from 2 Peter, chapter 3. 20:51 Again, read what it says in 2 Thessalonians 2:8: 20:55 "Then that lawless one," 20:57 the Antichrist power, "whom the Lord will consume with the 21:01 breath of his mouth and," do what? 21:03 "DESTROY with," what? 21:05 "The brightness of His coming," destroys the wicked. 21:11 But God's people, they're going to look for it with joy. 21:16 Number 12: "What will the angels do at Jesus' Second Coming?" 21:21 Christ has promised: "He will send His angels with the sound 21:24 of a trumpet," that same trumpet, "and they GATHERED 21:27 TOGETHER His elect from the four corners of heaven." 21:32 That means north, south, east, west. 21:34 He sends His angels to gather them together. 21:38 That's how every eye is going to see Him. 21:40 And with the dead in Christ, we will be together. 21:42 That will be the greatest reunion in history when the 21:46 Lord comes. 21:48 "Since we're living just before Jesus' Second Coming, how should 21:52 we relate to this solemn event?" 21:55 What should be our attitude, friends? 21:58 "Therefore also BE READY." 22:02 Did he say, get ready? 22:05 How many of you know you're going to be alive tomorrow? 22:07 I'm not trying to frighten you, but, you know, not everybody 22:11 gets a note from the doctor. 22:14 And sometimes we're surprised. 22:17 And someone asked the Jewish Rabbi: "What's the best time 22:21 to repent?" 22:23 And he said: "The last day of your life." 22:26 And the man said: "Well, what if you don't know what the last 22:28 day is?" 22:30 The Rabbi said: "Exactly." 22:34 Today Jesus said: "If you hear His voice, do not harden 22:36 your heart. 22:38 Be ready. 22:39 Live in an attitude of I'm walking with the Lord now." 22:42 And you can have that experience tonight, friends. 22:44 You just come as you are to Jesus. 22:47 "How will people be rewarded at Jesus' Second Coming?" 22:50 There's only two groups, friends. 22:52 Life and death, good and bad, saved and lost. 22:57 God wants you to have life. 22:59 One group, Revelation 22:12: "Behold, I'm coming quickly, and 23:04 My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to 23:08 his WORK." 23:09 Now, wait a second, Pastor Doug, I thought we're saved by grace, 23:11 you are. 23:13 And when you come to Jesus, just like you are, 23:15 He forgives you all of your sins. 23:16 You can pray tonight and say, Lord, forgive me, 23:18 I want to come to you. 23:20 I don't know how I'm going to live tomorrow, 23:21 but I'm coming to you now. 23:23 He'll accept you. 23:24 He'll forgive you. 23:25 And then He'll help you live a different life. 23:27 And your works change when your heart changes. 23:31 So the works indicate the life has changed. 23:36 You're not saved by works. 23:37 You're saved by grace. 23:39 But that solid saving grace will change your actions. 23:42 Number 15: "What will the wicked say when Jesus comes?" 23:47 Answer: "[The wicked]," 23:49 Revelation 6: 16, they say: 23:52 "to the mountains and the rocks, 23:54 'Fall on us and hide us from the face 23:56 of Him who sits on the throne 23:58 and from the wrath of the Lamb!'" 24:01 You usually don't think about Jesus, the Lamb of God, 24:03 and wrath. 24:04 Some people say: "I like the God in the New Testament more than 24:08 the God in the Old Testament." 24:09 Friends, it's the same God. 24:11 You got grace in the Old Testament. 24:13 You got wrath in the New Testament. 24:15 You got plagues in the Old Testament. 24:17 You got plagues in the New Testament. 24:19 You got salvation in the Old Testament. 24:21 You got salvation in the New Testament. 24:22 It's all the same God. 24:24 And He wants you to be saved. 24:26 He is desperate for you to be saved. 24:30 They're going to say: "Who is able to stand?" 24:34 Jesus said: "Pray always you're able to escape all these things 24:37 and stand before the Son of Man." 24:40 Number 16: "What will the righteous say when 24:43 Jesus appears?" 24:45 Then, they'll say: "in that day: 'Behold, this is our God; 24:48 we have waited for Him, and HE will SAVE us. 24:53 This is the Lord; we've waited for Him; and we'll be glad 24:56 and rejoice." 24:58 Paul refers to the Second Coming as "the blessed hope." 25:02 You should long for it. 25:03 Now, I know we've got mixed feelings. 25:05 You got friends maybe that aren't saved and loved ones, you 25:07 think, I don't want them to come now because they would be lost, 25:09 and I want them to be saved. 25:11 But, friends, we ought to look forward to that. 25:14 I don't know about you, but I'm sick and tired of being sick 25:15 and tired. 25:17 I'm looking forward to a world where there's no more pain 25:19 or sorrow. 25:21 There's two groups when Jesus comes. 25:22 You know, there's one group, if you go out on a dark night in 25:27 the woods, and you get a flashlight, and you turn over a 25:31 log or a rock and you shine the light, you can see all these 25:36 bugs crawl away from the light. 25:39 You don't have to go to the woods. 25:40 Just, if you have any cockroaches, try it. 25:45 They run from the light. 25:47 But if you're out in the woods and you turn on a light, the 25:50 moths come to the light. 25:52 There's two kinds of people when Jesus comes, 25:54 cockroaches and moths. 25:56 What do you want to be?
