00:03 by the friends of the Amazing Facts ministry. 00:06 Coming to you from New York City at the Historic Manhattan Center 00:11 with your host, Doug Batchelor. 00:13 Join this exciting journey of discovery as we learn the truth 00:17 about Bible prophecy, explore the timeless wisdom of God's 00:21 Word, and see how it relates to our lives today. 00:25 Stay tuned, your "Amazing Facts" adventure begins now. 00:30 Doug Batchelor: Welcome back to the "Prophecy Odyssey." 00:33 In our previous episode, we learned that God established the 00:37 seventh day Sabbath for all people, as a sign of His power 00:41 as our Creator and Redeemer. 00:43 We also discovered that Jesus Himself kept the Sabbath. 00:47 Today we're going to continue our eye opening study and learn 00:51 that Sabbath keeping was also practiced by the apostles, and 00:54 how God's end time people will still be keeping the seventh 00:57 day holy. 00:59 Now remember, if you'd like to deepen your Bible learning 01:02 experience, then check out the Prophecy Odyssey Bible lessons 01:06 and our free offer. 01:07 I'll tell you more about those things later in the program. 01:11 Now thank you for watching and God bless you as you continue 01:14 your "Prophecy Odyssey" adventure. 01:17 Doug: What about the apostles? 01:19 What was the practice of Paul and the apostles? 01:21 So we found the example of Jesus. 01:22 What about His followers? 01:24 What did they do? 01:25 Look, for instance, in Acts chapter 17, verse 2: "Paul, as 01:30 His custom was," this is His practice. 01:33 "He went to them and for three Sabbaths he reasoned with them 01:36 from the Scriptures." 01:38 And someone's going to say. 01:40 "Well, Paul just did that because he was trying to reach 01:42 the Jews." 01:44 Keep reading. 01:45 "He [Paul] reasoned 01:46 in the synagogue every Sabbath, persuading both Jews 01:51 and Greeks." 01:53 And that means Jews and Gentiles. 01:54 They use that word interchangeably there, and if 01:56 you doubt that, then look at Acts chapter 13, verse 42. 02:00 "And when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles 02:05 begged that these words might be preached to them the 02:08 next Sabbath." 02:10 The whole city came together. 02:11 Let me give you another verse, in your Bible, if you look in 02:14 Isaiah chapter 56, if you have your Bibles, you may want to 02:17 turn there very quickly. 02:18 Isaiah chapter 56, I want to read something to you, this is a 02:23 prophecy and verse 6: "And for the sons of the foreigner," 02:32 these are non-Jews. 02:33 "Who joined themselves to the Lord to serve Him." 02:36 That might be some of you. 02:38 "To love the name of the Lord, to be His servants. 02:41 Every one who keeps the Sabbath from defiling it, who lays hold 02:45 of my coven, even them I will bring to my holy mountain," and 02:49 make them miserable in my house of prayer. 02:52 No, is the Sabbath a burden or a blessing? 02:55 Did God curse the day or bless the day? 02:58 He says, "I will make them joyful in my house of prayer." 03:01 Anyone want joy? 03:04 To the sons of the stranger, He's saying anybody that wants 03:06 to follow me, you keep My Sabbath, I'll make you joyful. 03:10 They will come together in His house to worship Him. 03:14 Jesus said, "My house should be called the house of prayer for 03:16 all nations," amen. 03:19 Not just for one group of people. 03:21 The Jews were called to announce this truth to the world, 03:25 not keep it to themselves. 03:26 Number seven, did Jesus intend for His people to be keeping the 03:31 Sabbath day after He died for their sins? 03:34 In Matthew 24 where Christ is talking about prophecies 03:38 regarding His return. 03:41 About a great time of trouble and persecution. 03:44 He said, "Pray that your flight," He's not 03:47 talking about on Delta or United. 03:50 He's talking about fleeing for your life. 03:53 Pray that your flight may not be in the winter because there 03:56 would be no food in the fields if you have to flee for your 03:59 life or on the Sabbath. 04:01 Why would he tell His people to pray they would not have to flee 04:04 for their lives on the Sabbath day. 04:06 I don't know if you heard on the news tonight just before I got 04:09 here as I was shaving and getting dressed, we took in the 04:12 news for a few minutes and Benjamin Netanyahu finished his 04:16 address at the United Nations and even though Shabbat is 04:20 beginning because it's a time of war, he did something he 04:25 normally does not do, he traveled back home, isn't 04:30 that interesting? 04:32 They normally they don't do that, but you know, in times of 04:34 war, the Israelites will defend themselves on the Sabbath. 04:37 Jesus, you want to pray that you don't have to do it on the 04:39 Sabbath and miss that blessing. 04:41 When you're supposed to be resting, you're fretting. 04:45 He knew God's people would be keeping it down near the end 04:47 of time. 04:49 Question number eight, does the Bible teach that God's end time 04:53 people would also be keeping the seventh day Sabbath holy? 04:58 Look at the prophecy you find here in Revelation 12:17. 05:01 The dragon, who's the dragon? 05:04 We've learned he's the devil. 05:05 "Was enraged with the woman." 05:07 Now a woman is a symbol for a church. 05:09 In Revelation you've got a good woman and a bad woman. 05:11 Don't miss tomorrow morning, we're going to be talking 05:13 about that. 05:15 This is obviously a good woman because the devil doesn't 05:18 like her. 05:19 Does that make sense? 05:21 The dragon is enraged with the woman, the bride of Christ, and 05:24 he goes to make war with the rest of her offspring, offspring 05:27 means her seed at the end of time. 05:30 "Who do," what? 05:32 Who talk about, who think about or who keep? 05:35 "Who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony 05:39 of Jesus." 05:40 Revelation chapter 14. 05:43 "Fear God and give glory to Him." 05:45 This three messages go to the world, if you read in 05:48 Revelation 14. 05:50 It tells us in verse 14, "I beheld, and I saw one like the 05:54 Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven." 05:56 Who is that? 05:58 Jesus is coming, before Jesus comes in verse 12, three 06:03 prominent messages go to the world. 06:05 It's pictured under these angels, these messages that 06:07 are spreading. 06:08 They're flying in heaven, meaning it's going around 06:10 the world. 06:11 And what do these messages say? 06:13 "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment 06:17 has come." 06:19 And do what? 06:20 "Worship Him who made the heaven and the earth, and the sea and 06:26 the springs of water." 06:28 Do you know what, that is a quote from the 06:29 forth commandment. 06:31 "For in six days the Lord made the heaven and the earth and 06:34 the sea." 06:35 A message is going out in the world to return to the 06:38 scriptures in the last days. 06:40 Christ said, "Many sheep I have that are not of this fold. 06:43 Them also I must call, they will hear My voice, there will be one 06:46 fold and one shepherd." 06:47 Sincere people that love Jesus and His Word out there are 06:50 hearing the Holy Spirit even right now. 06:52 Is Pastor Doug, it's hard to argue with this logic. 06:57 "Heaven and earth will pass away, My Word will not 06:59 pass away." 07:00 God's law does not need changing, we need 07:01 changing, amen. 07:03 He wants us to return. 07:05 Jesus said, "The man who hears My words and does them is like 07:08 the wise man who builds on the rock." 07:10 The Ten Commandments were written on the rock. 07:14 And you know what? 07:16 I'm not in trouble because when I stand before the Lord and the 07:20 Lord says, "Doug, why did you teach people about the 07:23 Sabbath day?" 07:24 I'll say, "Well, for one thing, Lord, You kept it. 07:27 For another thing You told me to. 07:29 You said whoever teaches even one of the least of these 07:31 commandments will be great in the kingdom of heaven. 07:35 And You wrote it with Your finger and You spoke it with 07:37 Your voice." 07:40 I didn't tell the studio I was going to do this, I often 07:42 surprised them. 07:44 Get an audience shot, you're going to be on camera, some 07:48 of you. 07:51 Now, the Bible says, "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy, 07:55 six days you should labor and do all of your work, but the 07:57 seventh day is the Sabbath." 08:00 Seventh day of the week is what day? 08:03 Saturday, Sunday, the Resurrection, first day of 08:06 the week. 08:07 Can you tell me where in the Bible there's a commandment to 08:10 keep the first day holy? 08:14 No, I'm pretty open here. 08:15 I mean, we're putting you on camera if you got it, lift your 08:18 hand, I'll call it out in front of everybody. 08:21 There is no commandment. 08:23 It's coming from traditions, all right. 08:27 You can take them off the camera now cause I know they're getting 08:29 real nervous. 08:30 I'm looking at their faces, they're like, some people they 08:33 were taking a nap a minute ago, someone just woke them right up 08:36 and they just... 08:39 "Here is the patience of the saints; here are those that," 08:43 do what? 08:44 "Keep the commandments of God." 08:46 Here, last chapter in the Bible. 08:48 "Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they might 08:51 have a right to the tree of life, and enter through the 08:54 gates of the city." 08:55 Do you think that God is saying, well, not all of them, he's 08:59 giving us a ten percent discount. 09:02 You can take one of the ten out. 09:05 When God said Ten Commandments, He meant Ten Commandments, amen. 09:08 New covenant is those Ten commandments in our heart. 09:11 And you know what's really interesting? 09:14 If you go back 100 years, just read your own Christian History. 09:19 Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Charismatic, they all believed 09:25 in the Sabbath day. 09:27 They just believed you kept it on another day. 09:31 They were very careful, they did not go shopping, they had 09:33 special Sunday clothes, there were things they could not do. 09:37 How many of you know that? 09:39 All you've got to do is read the writings. 09:40 Read what Charles Spurgeon says about Sabbath keepings. 09:43 Read what Moody says, great preacher. 09:46 Read what Billy Graham used to say or Billy Sunday. 09:50 What you're hearing from me is nothing new. 09:53 It just has been forgotten by much of the church because we're 09:56 preoccupied with doing our own ways and our own pleasure in the 10:00 cares of life, isn't that the truth? 10:02 And we're suffering the consequences with our stress 10:06 from that. 10:07 Number 9, will all of the saved who are in heaven keep 10:11 the Sabbath? 10:12 All right, now we talked about, we know Moses, we know Adam in 10:16 the Garden of Eden, kept the Sabbath. 10:19 Some people say, Well, no, no, no, no, Pastor Doug, they did 10:21 not keep the Sabbath until the Ten Commandments. 10:24 Yes, God talked about it, but there's no example of anyone 10:27 keeping the Sabbath before Exodus 20. 10:30 Wrong. 10:31 Look at Exodus 16, when God reigned the manna down from 10:34 heaven, you know what He said, you're going to get it six days 10:37 a week, you get twice as much on Friday because I'm not going to 10:41 give you any on the Sabbath because I don't want you out 10:43 gathering, cook twice as much Friday so you can rest 10:47 on Sabbath. 10:48 And when some of the people went out Sabbath looking for manna, 10:52 God said to Moses, "How long will you cease to keep 10:55 My commandments?" 10:58 He called it a commandment even before He wrote the 11:00 Ten Commandments. 11:01 Don't fall for I hear pastors say some stuff that is 11:03 just foolishness. 11:04 They say God didn't have the Ten Commandments before Exodus 20. 11:08 When Joseph, who lived long before Moses, told Potiphar's 11:13 wife, I am not going to commit adultery because how can I sin 11:16 against God? 11:17 Did Joseph know adultery was a sin? 11:20 When God told Cain, that's going pretty far back, Cain and Abel. 11:25 Sin lies at your door because you want to murder your brother. 11:28 Was murder a sin back in the beginning? 11:31 The Sabbath goes all the way back to creation, friends, so 11:33 don't fall for these things. 11:35 I hear people say just ridiculous things trying to get 11:38 rid of one of God's commandments, why? 11:42 Will we keep it in heaven? 11:43 Moses kept it, Jesus kept it, the apostles kept it what about 11:48 in heaven? 11:50 Isaiah 66:22 and verse 23, "For as the new heavens and the new 11:54 earth which I will make will remain before Me,' says the 11:57 Lord, 'So shall your descendants and your name remain. 12:01 And it will come to pass that from one new moon to another." 12:04 That means from month to month, "And from one Sabbath to 12:08 another, all flesh." 12:10 Does it say all Jews there? 12:13 "All flesh will come and worship before Me." 12:18 Now here's a question. 12:21 If they kept it back in the Old Testament and they kept it in 12:25 the New Testament and we're going to keep it in heaven and 12:27 who do you think the preacher's going to be in heaven? 12:31 Will anybody sleep during the sermon? 12:35 Then does it make sense maybe God's people should still be 12:39 coming together to worship before the Lord on His holy 12:41 day now? 12:45 Bible Christians, yes. 12:48 Can we be certain the present seventh day of the week, 12:50 Saturday is the same Sabbath, same seventh day that 12:53 Jesus kept. 12:55 Now this always kind of cracks me up, because people never have 12:58 a problem figuring out what the days are until they learn the 13:01 Sabbath truth. 13:02 People never had a problem knowing what day was Sunday 13:05 until they learned the Sabbath truth. 13:06 They say, "Well, we're not sure, maybe Sunday is the Sabbath day 13:10 and it's the seventh day." 13:12 Bible is very clear about that. 13:14 Jesus rose the first day of the week. 13:17 And it tells you that even right in the dictionary. 13:20 And they said, well, haven't there been changes in 13:22 the calendar? 13:23 There have been changes in the calendar. 13:25 We changed from the Julian calendar to the 13:28 Gregorian calendar. 13:30 No change to the calendar ever affects the weekly cycle. 13:34 It is a mind myth because we see the days of the week on the 13:38 calendar we think one affects the other. 13:40 It doesn't work that way. 13:42 Your birthday falls on a different day of the week 13:43 every year. 13:44 They're two complete different separate distinct cycles 13:47 of time. 13:49 When they changed from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian 13:52 calendar, and that was not a bad thing, they needed to make an 13:55 adjustment for leap year because they kept getting off a quarter 13:58 day every year and the seasons were out of sync. 14:02 So what they did is they took Thursday, October 4, 1582, and 14:11 they said tomorrow is going to be the 15 they added ten days. 14:17 But it's going to be Friday. 14:19 Thursday was followed by Friday, the way it always is. 14:25 There has been no change in the calendar as far back as anyone 14:28 can measure history that has in in any way affected the 14:31 continuity of the weekly cycle. 14:34 The greatest proof for that is you've got 16 million Jews 14:37 around the world, and you might convince me that some of them 14:40 got stranded on a deserted island and lost track of time. 14:44 But for the whole nation to forget, and then you've got 14:47 Muslims, Friday is their holy day, and there are 1.7 billion 14:51 of them, they have not forgotten what the days of the week are. 14:55 And then you've got Christians who every Easter celebrate the 15:00 Resurrection and once a week they celebrate the Resurrection 15:03 on the first day of the week, they have no problem knowing 15:05 what day that was, Sunday. 15:09 We know what day the seventh day is. 15:11 Let's look at what the Bible says. 15:13 "That day was the preparation [Friday]" 15:17 They call that the preparation day. 15:18 "The Sabbath drew near." 15:20 This is the Crucifixion of Christ. 15:22 "They returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils." 15:26 By the way, Luke 23:54, and they did what? 15:30 "They rested on the Sabbath, these the apostles according to 15:35 the Jewish law." 15:37 No, according to the commandments. 15:40 Do you know Luke was written by a Gentile. 15:43 What a good time for him to say the old Jewish law. 15:46 He says it's a self-evident commandment. 15:49 Now on the what day? 15:51 "First day they came to the tomb," and of course praised God 15:54 Jesus rose. 15:57 Now, it's interesting, one of the reasons, and I remember, 16:01 forgive me if I'm a little strong with this because when I 16:04 first learned this, it shook me up. 16:06 And I hope I'm presenting this with the right measure of grace, 16:09 and I want to say right here, I know they're going to be 16:11 millions of Christians from all different backgrounds that will 16:15 be in heaven that did not know this, are you listening? 16:18 Isn't that right? 16:21 Sin is knowing to do good and not doing it. 16:24 Do you know there will be people in heaven that had too 16:26 many wives. 16:29 Will King David be in heaven? 16:31 And Solomon? 16:33 What about Jacob? 16:36 They had four wives at one time. 16:39 Sounds like a reality program. 16:41 And he had a lot of trouble too if you ever read the story. 16:45 They did not know the times of this ignorance. 16:47 God says I he winked at, but if Pastor Doug gets another wife 16:53 will I go to heaven? 16:55 Not if Karen's still alive, I won't no. 17:00 And she will go to jail for murder. 17:03 No, because sin is knowing to do good and not doing it, right? 17:07 But don't miss this, friends. 17:09 If Jesus ever taught the disciples, the Sabbath didn't 17:13 really matter or I've come to do away with the Sabbath, then why 17:17 was it that when He was crucified, and they took His 17:21 body off the cross, and it was Friday afternoon and the sun is 17:25 going down and they're going, "We don't have time before the 17:29 Sabbath to finish embalming His body. 17:31 Jesus would not want us to do that. 17:34 Let's put the body in the tomb, we'll put the stone in place, 17:37 we'll come back Sunday, we'll finish." 17:40 How important was this act of love to the apostles, and yet 17:45 they would not even finish embalming His body on the 17:48 Sabbath day. 17:49 And are you aware that Jesus even kept the Sabbath in 17:53 His death? 17:54 On Friday afternoon, He said, "It is finished," and then He 17:59 went to sleep and He rested in the tomb on the Sabbath, and He 18:03 rose Sunday morning to continue His work as our High Priest in 18:06 heaven, where He is now. 18:10 God has not changed, it still matters. 18:14 And the Lord wants this truth to go to His people, and if you 18:17 don't believe Pastor Doug, believe "Webster's Dictionary." 18:21 Saturday, noun, the seventh day of the week. 18:26 It'll say Sunday, noun, the first day of the week. 18:31 And if you look at a normal calendar, you'll see that. 18:34 Number 11, does God allow anyone to change His holy day? 18:39 The Bible says Proverbs 30:5 to 6, "Every word of God is pure. 18:44 Do not add to His words lest He rebuke you, and you be found 18:49 a liar." 18:50 Do you know that the prophet Ezekiel said, "In the last days, 18:53 the priests have hidden their eyes from My Sabbath." 18:57 As still true today in some circles. 19:00 Number 12, when does the Sabbath begin? 19:04 And when does it end? 19:07 The Bible says, "From evening unto evening you will celebrate 19:14 your Sabbath." 19:15 And again you look at Mark chapter 1, verse 32, "And at 19:18 evening when the sun had set." 19:20 The people wanted to bring their sick to Jesus to heal. 19:22 He would have healed them on the Sabbath, He had no problem 19:24 with that. 19:26 It's okay, you know, did doctors stop healing people on 19:29 the Sabbath? 19:30 Of course not. 19:32 There are certain required necessary jobs that must be done 19:36 on the Sabbath day where you're relieving human 19:38 suffering, right? 19:41 I've driven down the road on the Sabbath day and I've seen 19:44 someone that their battery died and I'll stop and jump 19:47 their car. 19:48 The Bible calls it the ox in the ditch, right? 19:52 And so there's some things that are obviously necessary but our 19:55 regular work, did you ever see Jesus in the carpenter shop on 19:58 the Sabbath day? 20:00 No, He taught, He preached, He healed on the Sabbath day, and 20:06 there's nothing wrong with that, but it begins sundown. 20:11 The idea of the days beginning and ending at midnight that's 20:14 Roman timing and Bible times, you know, didn't even have these 20:17 devices to keep time like that. 20:19 The days begin and end with sundown. 20:22 Someone's going to write in a question, how do they keep the 20:25 Sabbath on the space shuttle? 20:28 Write it down, come tomorrow and I'll answer. 20:32 Number 13, What day is the Lord's Day of Revelation 1? 20:37 Now some people say, "Well, Pastor Doug. 20:39 You guys keep the Sabbath day. 20:42 But we keep the Lord's day, and they say that's the 20:46 Resurrection day." 20:48 Does the Bible say that? 20:51 No, when John writes in Revelation chapter 1 in verse 7, 20:55 he says, "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day." 20:57 What's he talking about? 20:59 John was a prisoner there by the Romans, they had mines on the 21:04 Isle of Patmos where they would force the prisoners to work, but 21:06 John said, I'm not working on the Sabbath. 21:09 And he was in the Spirit on the Lord's day. 21:12 And God came to him, the vision of Revelation may have come to 21:16 John on the Sabbath day. 21:18 Let's find out what does the Bible say the Lord's Day is. 21:21 Exodus 20:10, "But the seventh day is the Sabbath of 21:25 the," Jews? 21:27 "The Lord," look again in Isaiah 58:13. 21:32 "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath," you know, when you 21:36 disrespect something, you wipe your feet on it. 21:39 Says if you turn away your foot, it means you're going your own 21:41 direction with your foot. 21:42 You're not doing God's will, you're walking your own walk. 21:45 "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath from doing your 21:47 pleasure on My holy day," Sabbath is not a day for worldly 21:52 entertainment and shopping and--it's a holy day, it's 21:56 a time for fellowship, it's a time for witnessing, it's a time 21:59 for study, time for rest. 22:02 Again, "Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the," what? 22:08 The Sabbath, so what day does the Bible say is the Lord's Day? 22:12 Sabbath day. 22:13 You know, one reason Pastor Doug became convinced is when I first 22:18 learned these things, you think I would know better because my 22:22 mother is Jewish, my grandparents are Jewish. 22:25 And as I'm reading the Bible and I'm accepting Jesus and I'm 22:28 going to church on Sunday, I'm going something's not matching 22:32 here, so I go to the pastor I'd say, "Pastor, why do we go to 22:36 church on Sunday?" 22:38 One of them would say, "Well Doug, Jesus rose on the first 22:41 day of the week, and it is the new Sabbath for Christians." 22:45 I said that's beautiful. 22:46 I said, "Now where's the scripture for that?" 22:49 He said, "Well, we don't have a scripture, but we've got a long 22:51 standing tradition." 22:53 And then I read where Jesus said, "You have a fine way of 22:56 setting aside the commandments of God to observe 22:58 your tradition." 23:00 So I went to another pastor and I said, "Pastor, why do we go to 23:04 church on Sunday?" 23:06 He said, "Well Doug, we're no longer under the law now we're 23:09 under grace. 23:11 We don't need to keep the Jewish Sabbath." 23:12 I said, "Yeah, but why Sunday?" 23:15 He said, "Well, because they took a collection on Sunday and 23:20 you read that in 1 Corinthians chapter 16," I said, "Well, they 23:25 took a collection several days of the week. 23:27 Did that make it?" 23:29 "Well, but they also had a Communion service, they 23:31 broke bread." 23:33 I said, "Is there a command?" 23:35 I said, "I got a command for the seventh day." 23:37 And I read where it says they broke bread from house to 23:39 house daily. 23:43 What day of the week did Jesus die? 23:46 Friday, is it a new Sabbath? 23:49 No, when was the Lord's Supper? Thursday night? 23:54 Is that a new Sabbath? 23:56 Was there something wrong with the seventh day where God had to 23:59 change it, He made a mistake? 24:02 Then I went to another pastor, they all had different answers, 24:04 they all disagreed with each other. 24:07 I went to another pastor. 24:08 I said, "Why do we go to church on the first day and not 24:11 the seventh?" 24:12 Ah, "Pastor Doug, you read in the book of Joshua, Joshua 24:14 prayed, sun stood still. 24:16 Saturday turned into Sunday." 24:19 I said, "Well, that's creative, but why did they still keep it 24:23 for the seventh day for another 1000 years?" 24:27 I asked 11 pastors and I got 12 different answers. 24:32 I said something's wrong, they don't even agree with 24:33 each other. 24:35 There's information you can look at a website, you might make 24:38 a note of this, sabbathtruth.com. 24:41 It's the number one website on this subject, sabbathtruth.com. 24:45 Don't go to Black Sabbath, that's something else. 24:48 sabbathtruth.com. 24:50 You will see a list of Christian theologians that freely admit 24:54 there is no scripture in the Bible that orders us to keep the 24:58 first day as a Sabbath, that it is purely tradition. 25:02 Number 14, what precious blessing comes through keeping 25:07 the Sabbath commandment? 25:09 Is God wanting us to be cursed or is He wanting us to 25:11 be blessed? 25:13 Answer, "My presence will go with you, and I will give 25:18 you," what? 25:20 I'll give you rest. 25:22 You can read again where Jesus says, "Come unto Me, all you who 25:26 are weary, you labor, you're heavy laden, and I will give 25:30 you rest." 25:33 Hebrews chapter 4, it says, "For we who believed do enter 25:38 that rest." 25:40 When God saved the children of Israel for their slavery and 25:43 their bondage and their labor in Egypt, He says, "I'm bringing 25:46 you to a land of milk and honey, and you will enter my rest." 25:51 Heaven is compared to God's rest. 25:54 Jesus entering Christ is compared to rest. 25:57 Someone's going to say, "Well, Pastor Doug we don't need to 26:00 keep the letter of the law anymore, we just keep the spirit 26:03 of the law." 26:04 Have you heard that one? 26:07 All right, the letter of the law says, "Thou shalt not commit 26:09 adultery," right? 26:11 Ten Commandments. 26:12 Spirit of the law says, do not think it in your mind. 26:16 If I say, well, I'm not going to think it in my mind, but I'm 26:19 literally going to commit adultery, is that okay? 26:21 Or does God want us to keep the letter and the spirit? 26:25 The letter of the law says don't murder. 26:28 The spirit of the law says, do not be angry with your brother 26:31 without a cause or you're guilty of murder. 26:34 If I say, "Oh Lord, I'm going to murder this person, but I won't 26:36 think it in my heart, I'll keep the spirit but not the letter." 26:41 Or does God want us to keep the spirit and the letter? 26:45 Doug: Friends, I hope you've been blessed by today's 26:46 presentation, but the most important thing is not the 26:50 information and the details, it's the relationship. 26:53 Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus? 26:56 You're watching because He's planned that, and He wants to 26:59 come into your heart and change your life. 27:01 He wants to forgive you of all of your sins. 27:03 He died for your sins, but you need to ask Him. 27:06 He won't force His way in. 27:08 You can ask Him now. 27:09 He loves you, He'll accept you, do it right now. 27:13 Doug: Hi friends, I trust you being blessed by what 27:16 you're watching. 27:17 If you want to be doubly blessed, then you're going to 27:19 want to get the "Prophecy Odyssey" study guides that go 27:22 along with these presentations. 27:24 There's 15 study guides. 27:25 They're beautifully illustrated, and they will greatly enhance 27:28 your Bible comprehension. 27:30 So if you'd like to get them, simply follow the instructions 27:33 that you see on the screen, you will be glad you did. 27:43 Doug: The book of Revelation describes a final war 27:46 over worship. 27:47 So perhaps it really does matter how and when we worship God. 27:51 To learn more about this, you're going to want to get a copy of 27:55 "The Lost Day of History." 27:57 This Amazing Facts study guide reveals the hidden truth about 28:01 the war over worship in the last days. 28:04 To get your copy, simply follow 28:05 the instructions on your screen, 28:07 and we're going to send it 28:09 to you absolutely free. 28:11 ♪♪♪ 28:23 male announcer: This presentation was brought to you 28:25 by the friends of the Amazing Facts ministry. |
