00:02 Okay, so.
00:03 Welcome back. 00:04 This is a real good recipe, Curtis. 00:06 It's actually what goes over a waffle. 00:08 So we've done the waffles before on our program, okay. 00:10 And so it's a real good add on. 00:13 I make all different kind of sauces. 00:14 This was a peachy strawberry sauce. 00:16 I think it's gonna be good. 00:17 Let's look at the ingredients. 00:19 All right. 00:20 It calls for two cups of peaches frozen, 00:23 two cups of strawberries frozen, 00:25 one and one half cup of orange juice, 00:27 three tablespoons of cornstarch, 00:30 and three tablespoons of maple syrup. 00:32 Okay, that's the sauce. Okay. 00:33 Easy, quick and easy, easy, easy. 00:35 I think I like about this is that, 00:37 these are fresh peaches, not canned peaches. 00:41 And when I take it and get the peaches, 00:42 I get them from a farmers market. 00:44 When I get them from the farmers market, 00:45 I actually clean them all off, cut them up with the skin on 00:49 and I put them in a freezer, okay. 00:50 Oh, okay. 00:52 So you can see, I already have it on air, 00:53 I always have a thought out. 00:55 Let's go ahead on and slowly put that into the blender. 00:56 So it's going into the blender. 00:57 And we're gonna just do a pulsing of it, 00:59 we're not gonna actually... 01:00 I want to keep that skin on, 01:01 that's where our nutrition is also with that as well. 01:04 Okay. 01:07 They're kind of frozen a little bit. 01:08 That's good. That's good. 01:10 All of it? Yes. 01:11 Okay. All right. 01:12 Call for two cups of it. 01:14 You know, there's some backing up. 01:15 So I... I see you backing up. 01:17 We had this apron for over 20 years. 01:18 I see you backing up. 01:20 Okay, and... 01:21 Lid on. 01:22 And then you're just gonna pulse. 01:25 Where's the pulse here? 01:29 Okay, hold up. 01:33 Okay baby, I don't want it. 01:38 Oh, okay. 01:39 Oh... That's enough. 01:41 Oh, okay, that's it? 01:42 You can put the man power in it, okay. 01:44 All right. Okay. Okay. Okay. 01:45 What else, baby? All right, that's all. 01:47 I'm gonna actually turn on the stove. 01:48 I am gonna put the orange juice in. 01:50 And let me just say this. 01:52 You'll notice two things going on here. 01:53 Number one is that I actually have water here 01:56 that Curtis is gonna add the cornstarch to. 01:58 And the reason he's gonna do that is because sometime 02:00 when you're doing it with the orange juice, 02:01 the orange juice is warm and not at room temperature, 02:04 it will not work well with the cornstarch. 02:06 So let's do water and cornstarch. 02:09 Okay, so we can make that good blend. 02:10 I'm gonna go ahead and put it. 02:12 Now this one should be, is it cold or...? 02:13 It's got to be cold. Okay. 02:15 It's got to be cold. 02:16 I am gonna put the orange juice in 02:19 and I'm gonna turn my fire on. 02:25 Get that fire going. 02:27 I love this sauce. 02:28 I make a lot of different ones. 02:30 Pineapple orange sauces and sauce with apples, 02:34 because when you're doing the waffles that we make, 02:38 you can't use syrup 02:40 'cause the syrup don't work well with it, 02:42 it doesn't have a fruit. 02:43 Okay, just give me a spoon or something. 02:45 A spatula? 02:46 Is it giving you time there? 02:48 Let me help you. 02:49 You go ahead and... I help you. 02:50 That's kind of stuck there. 02:52 Is it stuck? Yeah. 02:53 Okay. There you go, very good. 02:54 All right. 02:56 And you smell good too. Thank you very much. 02:57 Thank you very much. 02:59 Okay. 03:00 Perfume you have there? 03:02 I mean, buy that again. 03:03 Okey dokey. 03:05 Okay. All right. 03:06 You ready to go ahead 03:07 and finish doing that up for me? 03:09 We got that... 03:10 We got the orange juice going. 03:11 Okay. All right. 03:13 Now what I'm gonna do 03:14 is hold on to that one 'cause I want the peaches, 03:16 I want to go ahead 03:17 and have that part in to this pan. 03:20 Oh, the peaches? 03:21 Okay. 03:23 And do it slow, babe. 03:25 All right. 03:26 All right, slow, slow, down further, down further, 03:30 down, okay, otherwise it's gonna splash. 03:32 Okay, there you go. 03:33 Okay. 03:35 Remember I kept that skin on there, 03:36 that's gonna make all the difference also. 03:38 Keep one more, more. 03:41 Okay, now you can tilt it. 03:43 Very good, excellent. Superb. 03:44 Alrighty. Okay. 03:48 Now, believe it or not, let's go hit on... 03:51 We can put the strawberries in there too. 03:52 Let's go ahead and do them... 03:54 Oh, in here? 03:55 And now just... just... Yeah, go ahead. 03:56 They are frozen strawberries, okay, 03:58 and we're gonna do the same thing, 03:59 we're gonna pulse it a little bit. 04:01 Okay, let's do this. 04:06 Okay. 04:07 I don't think there's a pulse on here. 04:08 No, that's okay. 04:10 Okay, one more time? 04:11 One more. 04:13 That's enough, that's it. 04:14 Okay, there you go. 04:15 I want strawberries to be seen in that sauce as well. 04:17 Oh, okay. 04:18 I don't want to take all the strawberries. 04:19 Okay, so let's go ahead and put that in. 04:21 Okay. 04:22 Don't have to use this one here. 04:24 Pour them out. 04:28 Now, I've told them about our Sunday morning breakfast. 04:34 Okay, you know, 04:35 on Sunday mornings we always tell our friends 04:38 that's our special time together. 04:41 Do not call. 04:42 Now they have called, they don't know it. 04:44 No, they didn't call, just don't answer the phone. 04:45 No, we don't. 04:46 Honey, let me just see if there's any... 04:48 everything is out there. 04:49 Oh, okay. 04:51 You know, I'll tell you what, baby, if you can. 04:52 Slush them out. Yes. Yeah. 04:54 You want what? No... no. 04:55 No, no, no, no, no. 04:57 I can take this apart. Okay, do that. 04:58 Yeah, let's take this across. 05:00 And I want all those strawberries, okay. 05:01 So on Sunday mornings, you know we just kind, take a chill. 05:04 Our special time. 05:05 We do a brunch on Sunday morning 05:08 and that's when I fix a lot of Curtis's favorite foods 05:12 that have waffles and sauce and honey... 05:13 You know what? 05:15 Yeah, this... 05:16 This is not our... 05:18 This is not our blender. 05:19 So I tell you what. 05:20 No, no, no, let me just do this, babe. 05:22 You got some... 05:23 Go ahead and can tell them about the Sunday, would you? 05:25 'Cause I fix it for you, so... 05:26 Yeah, so the breakfast I mean, it's a full fledge breakfast. 05:30 I mean, the waffles. 05:32 No syrup. Some of this. 05:34 Sometimes you have this spread here on the breakfast, 05:36 on the waffles and the scrambled tofu 05:39 and toast, hash browns. 05:41 And I mean, what else? 05:43 There's a whole lot of stuff. 05:45 I mean... 05:46 Well, it's actually our Sunday brunch. 05:47 Yeah. It was a brunch too, yeah. 05:49 It was our brunch too. 05:50 So I'm good for at least four to five hours. 05:52 Yes, he is. Yes, I am. 05:53 And, you know, it's really wonderful. 05:56 That's our time together, Sunday morning. 05:58 Our time. Our time. 05:59 So from about nine to... 06:01 I say about noon time. 06:05 Till about noon time. Yes. 06:07 Then we watch our movie, 06:08 a special movie that day and it's great. 06:11 Lifetime Hallmark. 06:13 That's it. That's it. 06:14 One of those. Now, okay now this is a... 06:15 Stir it a little bit more? 06:17 Stir it one more time for me, 06:18 just one more time to loosen it up there. 06:19 Yeah, it is. 06:21 And I'm gonna go ahead and start adding it in 06:22 because this sauce is now gonna thicken it up. 06:24 Now this will thick, okay. All right. 06:25 Yeah, it's gonna thicken it up. 06:26 It's already been, you know, 06:28 we've already added the word to it. 06:29 So we're gonna pour it in. All right. 06:30 And it's gonna thicken it up for us. 06:32 Okay? 06:33 We also make our own whipped cream. 06:36 The go over there... 06:37 I mean, you know, 06:39 what is waffles or pancakes like without 06:41 not only your topping, 06:42 but also whipped cream on top of it as well. 06:44 So there is also on the market now 06:46 a lot of new whipped creams that are done by. 06:49 It's so delicious. 06:50 And also the other companies as well. 06:52 Okay. 06:53 So that's another one they can use as well. 06:54 I'm just gonna continue to stir that 06:56 and then we're gonna just... 06:57 The last thing we're putting in. 06:58 Now, two good things are going on. 07:00 I'm putting in, this is the, 07:01 the honey, it's going in as well 07:03 or you can use maple syrup too for two reasons. 07:06 Number one is that, 07:07 if you're using frozen strawberries 07:09 that have no sugar, 07:10 then you might want to go head on 07:12 and add in the maple syrup. 07:13 The peaches are already sweet 07:15 but if you want to add and make a little bit more sweeter, 07:17 you can actually add the maple syrup 07:19 or honey to that as well, okay. 07:21 It's starting to thicken up, you see its thickening up. 07:23 Okay, I'm gonna just go ahead and put in the maple syrup. 07:27 Now normally you'd use the honey 07:28 but you have this maple syrup too. 07:30 Honey or maple syrup. 07:31 Yeah, well, honey is like a little bit more. 07:33 It's not as expensive as the maple syrup. 07:35 So depends on what you have. 07:37 But whatever you do don't use regular pancake mix syrup. 07:40 Yeah, it will just ruin the whole waffle. 07:42 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. 07:43 So it's thickened up. 07:44 As you see it's getting thick now 07:46 and it is a fantastic sauce, 07:49 as you will see in the end of the program. 07:52 Okay? 07:53 When you were talking before about this music, 07:56 one of the things I like also and I remember, 07:58 like I said before, 08:00 when we were going through, 08:01 I was going through my cancer treatments and stuff 08:03 that there was a song by a woman 08:05 by the name of Stephanie Dobson. 08:06 That's right. 08:08 And she sang about miracles still happen. 08:10 And I just remember that, through the experience, 08:14 I needed something to keep me calm. 08:16 And the Father God put that song in a pathway 08:19 before I was actually diagnosed with cancer. 08:22 Yes. 08:24 And somehow when that song hit, 08:25 it just, it just really made me... 08:27 Okay. 08:28 Okay, sometime when music hits, or scripture hits, 08:31 sometime, Curtis, it's almost like, 08:33 I know something is getting ready to go down. 08:35 It's almost like the Father lets me know 08:37 about something getting ready to happen. 08:40 I thought when I heard the song miracles still happen, 08:42 I thought, there's something's gonna happen to the children, 08:45 my husband, or something is going down. 08:48 I mean, I just felt it in my spirit. 08:50 And it wasn't until that I heard the song, 08:52 "Believe it or not," earlier in the year, 08:54 and I wasn't diagnosed until the middle part 08:56 of the year in August timeframe. 08:58 And so I realized, you know, 09:00 God is still in the miracle business. 09:03 I mean, He still does miracles even today, 09:06 not just Bible time, but all the time. 09:08 And He worked a miracle. He certainly did. 09:10 He got me ready for the whole thing. 09:12 And as I do my presentations 09:13 around cancer timeframe in October, 09:15 and talk about my story, miracles still happen, 09:18 is one of the background music, 09:20 because we talk about adoration today. 09:22 God is absolutely awesome. 09:25 Yes, He is. He's on time. 09:26 He knows exactly what we need. 09:28 He charts every single journey that we're on. 09:31 Did you know that God charts our journey, 09:32 that He knows the path you're on? 09:34 Yes, He does. 09:35 And so with that in mind, 09:36 that was one of the things I loved. 09:38 Okay. 09:39 You said that to our daughter in Atlanta 09:42 and while you were talking she's on internet 09:44 and got a DVD or CD for you. 09:47 And it was on its way in the next few days. 09:49 Music is just simply a powerful healer. 09:53 And we... 09:55 The choir, we have a few more minutes. 09:57 We belong to a choir, inspirational choir, 09:59 Huntsville, Alabama, 10:01 at First Church and a concert we did, 10:04 Richard Smallwood Concert. Yes. 10:06 Years ago, a few years ago. 10:08 And one of the songs of Richard Smallwood folk 10:13 is the anthem of Praise. 10:17 Oh, yeah. 10:19 And it's... 10:20 it's a wonderful song but being a tenor, 10:23 that tenor part of that song, it really worked us. 10:28 I mean, it really worked a whole tenor section. 10:30 I mean, Murphy say, 10:32 "Okay, I just want to tenors to come in, 10:33 just tenors only, 10:35 because the tenors really carry that song, 10:38 the anthem of praise but it's a wonderful song, 10:42 and also, of course, you're a soprano. 10:44 But music, when we go to rehearsal, 10:49 when we come back from rehearsal, 10:51 the music still is in our minds and it really uplifts us. 10:54 And like I said before, we have WJOU... 10:57 W... 10:58 Yeah, WJOU, WOCG, WJOU, Oakwood University radio, 11:02 that's always in our home playing always... 11:05 We keep it on. 11:06 And so music can really banish a gloom. 11:09 It can banish depression. 11:11 And so those out there, 11:12 I know that we cover music, but we didn't cover prayer. 11:17 We did not cover God's Word, 11:19 that's also part of adoration as well. 11:22 You put all those three together folks, 11:24 and it can really help not only with immune system, 11:29 it can lower systolic blood pressure, 11:33 cancer survivors, dementia, 11:37 Alzheimer's, we're talking about music. 11:40 We have a musical mind, adoration, A for music. 11:44 So therefore, I want to keep that in mind. 11:46 Now I think, I guess we come back 11:48 we're gonna see what's going on. 11:50 You will see the finished product 11:51 with those waffles and so stay by. |
