And do you have a husband? 00:54 Are you married? 00:55 Oh, I thought you just gonna introduce... 00:56 You said... 00:58 I am, but if you answer the question, 00:59 I can go in with my introduction. 01:02 So do you have a husband or you...? 01:04 Yes, I have a husband, 01:06 Curtis Eakins. 01:07 Okay. See how that worked. 01:09 Yeah, so you just introduced myself. 01:13 Okay. Okay. 01:14 Sunlight. Sunlight. 01:16 Sunlight, it was sunlight wish. 01:18 So, once again, folks, 01:19 this is a series and we've been doing 01:22 for the last several weeks and using the acronym HEALERS. 01:27 We're trying to get those individuals 01:28 who are taking medication, 01:30 drug therapy 01:31 because of the baleful side effects 01:33 to lessen the dependence of drugs 01:36 and a baleful side effects. 01:37 So going through the series 01:39 HEALERS recover a host of diseases. 01:42 We're not covering everything, 01:43 but we do have a workbook here as well. 01:45 And so just to review, H is for herbal medicine. 01:49 Mm-hmm. 01:50 E is for exercise. 01:53 E is for eating. E is for eating. 01:55 Yeah, I just looked at you, it threw me off. 01:56 E is for eating and A is for adoration, 01:59 prayer, and praise, and music. 02:02 And L is for liquids, 02:04 water and we talk about juicing, all right. 02:07 And then E is for exercise, R is for rest. 02:10 And the last letter which is today is S is for... 02:15 What everybody? 02:16 Sunlight. 02:17 Sunlight, very good. And... 02:19 And... And... 02:20 The Son of God. 02:21 Okay, watch it now. Okay. 02:23 All right now, and we've been using 02:24 the three tiers of credibility. 02:27 Tier number one is God's Word, the standard of truth. 02:30 And we always open up with God's Word. 02:32 Tier number two is an inspired author 02:34 that we're featuring throughout this series, Ellen White. 02:37 And tier number three is a scientific literature, 02:40 usually in that order. 02:41 So I'm glad you're with us today 02:43 and I've got a lot to cover them. 02:44 Again, we're not going to be 02:46 covering everything in our workbook. 02:47 We're on sunlight. 02:49 We're gonna be doing a webinar later on. 02:50 If you contact us, 02:52 we can get you in touch with that webinar, 02:54 that's upcoming as well. 02:55 So S is for sunlight, 02:57 so wherever you go regardless of the rain, 03:01 the weather, we can bring our own sunlight with us. 03:07 Okay, I like that. I like that. 03:08 Yes, regardless. Okay. 03:10 So, you know, they're going as they're saying, 03:13 right now those who've been bringing their Bibles 03:14 every time we had the program on, 03:17 what does the Word of God say about sunlight? 03:19 Okay. 03:21 It has a lot to say about sunlight. 03:23 We did this program some years ago, 03:25 kind of updating use some more different texts 03:27 that we did before. I want to go to Malachi 4:2. 03:32 Malachi 4:2. 03:36 I want to start with verse 1, 03:37 and then we'll go to verse 2, all right. 03:39 I want to read this from the NIV version. 03:41 Malachi 4:1. 03:45 The Bible says, "Surely the day is coming." 03:50 I'm going to just take my time on this one. 03:52 "Surely the day is coming." 03:55 So what day is that? 03:57 Is it a birthday, or anniversary, Christmas? 04:02 What day is God referring to? 04:03 "Surely the day is coming, it will burn like a furnace." 04:09 Oh, wait a minute. 04:11 Now we're talking about hellfire. 04:12 When fire comes down from heaven, 04:15 that's the day that God is talking about. 04:18 And what's going to happen to these people? 04:20 Oh, "All of the arrogant 04:24 and every evildoer 04:27 will be stubble." 04:30 Arrogant, proud. 04:33 The Bible says, 04:35 "God, these just six things 04:37 doth the Lord hate: yea, seven." 04:40 And the first one listed is a proud look. 04:44 So those who are proud, and boastful, 04:46 and self confident, it's all about self arrogant, 04:51 and the Bible says, evildoers. 04:55 "Those who just have no respect of God, 04:58 no spiritual inclination, no prayer life, 05:02 just want to do their own thing, 05:04 just evildoers, 05:05 no reference to the Ten Commandments 05:07 in their hearts. 05:08 Jesus not even part of their life. 05:10 "Evildoers will be stubble, burned up." 05:14 Just talking about the day and get this now, 05:17 "And the day that is coming will set them on fire 05:23 saith the Lord Almighty. 05:27 Not a root or branch will be left in them." 05:30 Now, verse 1, 05:33 we don't want to be a part of verse 1. 05:35 We don't want to be 05:36 a group of verse 1 in that group. 05:40 Praise God for verse 2, 05:43 because the first word in verse 2 is the word, 05:45 but, that's a transition, change of thought. 05:49 But the Bible says, NIV, "For you who revere my name," 05:56 Christians acknowledge Christ as their personal savior, 06:01 those people. 06:02 "The sun of righteousness..." 06:05 Wait a minute. 06:06 Wait a minute now. 06:08 Okay, now notice now, 06:11 the word sun of righteousness is spelled not S-O-N, 06:17 is S-U-N, "sun of righteousness, 06:21 will rise with healing in its rays." 06:25 Now, the Word of God has a lot of titles 06:30 in the Word of God as far as Christ is concerned. 06:35 The Bright and Morning Star, the Great I Am, Immanuel, 06:41 Christ, Prince of Peace. 06:44 But here in this passage is remember were mentioned 06:50 as Jesus as the Sun, S-U-N, 06:54 not S-O-N of righteousness. 06:57 And it always intrigued me why did the Word of God 07:01 mentions the word sun S-U-N for Jesus Christ, not S-O-N. 07:07 And then we began to look at the characteristics of the sun, 07:13 and the characteristics of Jesus Christ, 07:17 we see that there's a similarity. 07:18 Number one, 07:19 what characteristics of the sun and Jesus Christ is? 07:23 Number one, they're always dependable. 07:26 True. 07:27 Every single morning, the sun will rise. 07:33 Jesus, we can depend on Him as well. 07:35 Now here's the thing. 07:37 Sometimes the sun is not visible, 07:40 it cannot be seen. 07:42 It doesn't mean it does not exist. 07:44 Sometimes in our lives going through situations, 07:49 sometimes we feel that Jesus is not there. 07:52 He's not present, but He is just like the sun, 07:55 He's always present, 07:56 although you may not be able to see the sun visibly. 07:59 Number two, the sun arise in the east, 08:06 sets in the west. 08:08 Matthew Chapter 24, 08:09 when Christ comes a second time, the Bible says, 08:12 Christ will come from the east. 08:16 So therefore both come from the east. 08:20 Now I may be pointing this way that may be north, 08:22 I'm not sure where I am in the studio here, but again, 08:25 both rise in the east, and also the sun is bright. 08:31 The Bible says in Genesis, 08:32 He created the greater light to rule the day, sunlight. 08:37 Jesus is sometimes referred to as the Bright and Morning Star. 08:42 So there's a resemblance of the Sun S-U-N 08:47 and a son of God S-O-N, so therefore, 08:51 and arise with healing... 08:52 Yes, yes. ..in his rays. 08:54 We're going to be talking about some of the healing 08:56 in the rays of the sunlight as well. 08:59 Okay, that was a good... 09:00 That's a good explanation. Yes. 09:01 And I know, 09:03 I know you were thinking about that when you saw that, 09:04 when you saw that in the Scripture, 09:05 and now you know how to differentiate 09:08 between the word son and sun. 09:11 And you know now also that they're one and the same. 09:15 Right, and they both are necessary. 09:16 They both are very necessary. 09:17 Because if the sunlight were not to shine at all, 09:23 we will die. 09:24 I mean, we're not talking about wicked. 09:26 I mean, we cannot live without sunlight. 09:31 We cannot live spiritually without the Son of God. 09:35 Both are critical and both are necessary. 09:38 Now, while you're talking about that, 09:39 I know that individual are thinking 09:41 and they're saying, 09:43 "Okay, but I heard that sunlight causes cancer." 09:47 Oh, my goodness. 09:49 Yeah, I've heard that. 09:50 You know, "Curtis, 09:51 sunlight causes cancer and skin cancer," all right. 09:55 Let me just say this. 09:57 The European Journal of Cancer put out an article. 10:02 And this is a meta-analysis, 10:03 that means that there are several studies 10:06 together come up with a summary. 10:08 This is based on 57 studies done on sun exposure 10:15 and skin cancer, 10:18 particularly melanoma 10:20 which is the most deadliest cancer, 10:22 accounting for up to 80% 10:23 of all cancer death is melanoma. 10:26 And in this article, in this medical journal, 10:30 in summary, 10:32 those who have long exposures to sunlight 10:38 such as vacation or picnic all day long, 10:41 those who live near the coastal areas, 10:44 because dry sand reflects more of the ultraviolet rays 17% 10:51 than other areas on the land, 10:54 and also those who have a history of sun burning 10:57 have a dramatic increase of skin cancer. 11:01 But those who have a regular brief exposure 11:05 to sunlight have just the opposite, 11:09 first they have no skin cancer. 11:10 So therefore, it's more or less depend 11:12 on the length of time and exposure, 11:14 and that kind of thing. 11:16 So what's the best time of day to action? 11:18 The best time of day and you have different... 11:20 you have three different types of rays. 11:21 You have the ultraviolet A, ultraviolet B, ultraviolet C. 11:27 Now we don't hear about ultraviolet C, 11:29 because it doesn't reach the earth. 11:31 Ultraviolet B rays, it's raised as... 11:33 It has the most healing properties 11:35 and that's between the hours of 10 to 4, 11:39 ultraviolet B rays, all right. 11:42 I think we have a graphic on the screen 11:43 because also depending on where we live also determines 11:47 how effective sunlight is as well. 11:50 So let's go to the screen at this time 11:52 and let's look at the map 11:54 as far as the latitude is concerned 11:56 for sunlight therapy. 11:59 So here is the map of the United States here. 12:01 I know this is shown worldwide, 12:04 but you see the 37th latitude there. 12:06 So those are individuals in the dark area to the north, 12:10 you may need supplementation, 12:12 but below that in the south area, 12:16 you get adequate amount of sunlight. 12:18 Some say at the 35th latitude, 12:20 which would be Los Angeles on the west side. 12:24 And so but this is very liberal 37th latitude, so in the south, 12:29 you get adequate amount of sunlight 12:30 and it should be good for vitamin D exposure. 12:34 All right, so thank you for the graphic. 12:35 Now, I want to go with you and your story 12:38 before we go into the kitchen, Honey. 12:39 I know that vitamin D a lot can be said 12:42 but we run out of time, it's more in the workbook. 12:44 I know you had vitamin D test done and... 12:48 Let's talk about that for a moment 12:49 and far as your numbers and then we can explain 12:52 as you talk through that? 12:53 Okay. Okay. 12:55 Well, one of the things that each year 12:56 I get a physical, 12:57 I had a physical done 12:59 and they did my vitamin D stores. 13:01 And when they did a vitamin D store, 13:03 there was a number that they were looking for. 13:06 And my numbers was way low. 13:08 Okay. 13:10 The numbers that they were looking for was what? 13:12 So, the numbers was, I think, 13:14 the optimum is from 50 to 80 is optimum. 13:20 50 to 80 is optimum, all right, 13:24 25 to 50 is insufficient 13:28 25 to 50 is insufficient, 13:30 less than 25 is very low. 13:34 Okay, so you want to know what my number was? 13:37 My number was 18. 13:40 And so the doctor want to put me on 13:42 some type of medication drug and you already know 13:46 that we are really more into, 13:47 how can we get this more naturally 13:49 and take care of ourselves? 13:50 And so we said, "We will handle that." 13:53 We actually just get some supplements. 13:57 Okay. 13:58 I actually started taking supplements. 13:59 And tell them what did you take in particular? 14:02 I began taking vitamin D3 supplements. 14:04 D3, okay. 14:05 I would take them for a couple of months, 14:07 because then she said she wants to see me back. 14:09 Because, of course, 14:10 she wants to give me medicine, all right. 14:12 And what was the dosage? 14:13 Do you remember the dosage? 14:15 Fifteen thousand units a day. 14:16 I thought... Universal 5,000. 14:18 5,000 international units. 14:19 5,000 international units a day... 14:21 Almost 15,000. Yeah. 14:22 And, I think, let me just say this for the record. 14:25 My wife has a sun sensitivity. 14:28 Yes. She does. 14:29 I mean, she cannot be in the sunlight 14:30 for a long period of time. 14:32 So because of that, 14:33 even though we live below that 37th latitude 14:35 because of sun sensitivity, 14:37 then it pushed her into the supplementation 14:40 of vitamin D3 5,000 international units. 14:42 So I took the supplements for a while 14:45 and I went back to my doctor, are you ready for this? 14:47 You know, God is awesome, okay. 14:49 Okay. 14:50 Sixty three. 14:52 Oh, my goodness. Okay, my doctor was so shocked. 14:53 She said, "Wait, wait a minute." 14:55 She said, "Now Okay, 18-63. 14:58 Okay, I need whatever you're doing stop it, 14:59 stop it because you... 15:01 I don't want you to go up to 80," right. 15:02 Yeah, pass 80. 15:03 So where I was taking them every day, okay, 15:06 then I began just like three times a day. 15:07 Every time I decided then okay, 15:09 "Well, I will just stop and go every other day 15:12 and see what goes on." I do not want to go to that. 15:15 And by the way, vitamin D is also a fat soluble vitamin, 15:18 so it's one that the liver can have 15:20 a rough time when if it gets over-toxified. 15:21 Right, right. 15:23 So once again, just by doing that with the D3, 15:25 it made a difference. 15:26 And we hear a lot of people, I mean, 15:28 a lot of women who have a vitamin D deficiency, 15:30 and this actually worked really well. 15:31 Yeah, I want to say one last statement 15:34 that our body is a photosynthetic. 15:38 What I mean by that is that we are covered 15:41 with actually solar energy cells through our bodies. 15:46 So when the sunlight hits our skin, our eyes, 15:49 it converts into chemical energy 15:51 just like the plant kingdom. 15:53 So, in fact David says, 15:54 "I am fearfully and wonderfully made." 15:56 I mean, we are simply photosynthetic. 16:00 We are designed to receive sunlight 16:03 and transport that into chemical energy 16:06 and as a whole host of things that does to the body 16:09 as far as lowering your blood pressure, 16:12 diabetes, mood, etc and immune system. 16:16 So sunlight is good, 16:17 and I think it's time to go into the kitchen, Honey. 16:19 Yes, it is. 16:21 It doesn't mean that I don't, I go out in the sun, 16:22 but I make sure that I'm completely covered 16:24 when I go outside in the sun. 16:26 But speaking of the sun, 16:28 there is a recipe we're going to do today 16:30 that is going to be absolutely delicious. 16:33 It is our mock pepper steak with gravy. 16:37 Get your paper and your pencil, and meet us in the kitchen. |
