And so in the 01:24 last year I've been having a morning devotional with my 01:29 office staff before we start seeing patients for the next. 01:32 And that's really made a big difference. We we have prayer 01:37 request time all read the Bible verse from Mo have prayer and 01:40 office staff if started to open up with her requests and they 01:45 bring fans that we share and we encourage one another. And it's 01:49 but it's just been really good for me. And it's been good for 01:51 them. It's been good for the practice. And when part of a 01:54 man really encourage me to start doing that every day. 01:58 And so I want to encourage you to do the same thing in your 02:01 practice, too. 02:02 [MUSIC] 02:07 [MUSIC] 02:12 >> We're blessed this morning in our first plenary session, 02:15 too. 02:16 Enjoy hearing from Doctor 02:18 John Sharpton. And I know you'll 03:54 enjoy hearing from him this morning. 03:57 So Doctor John Sharp for Berg. A welcome. We're looking 04:00 forward to hearing from you today. 04:12 >> I would like to talk to you today about 04:15 Supernatural health council. 04:19 I need about 8 people here to Candy's things out. 04:23 And I think we have a small groups 04:25 but one per cup. 04:28 I need these handouts to go 04:40 now the Bible text. I want to start with a new chapter of 04:44 Romans. 04:46 Romans. 5 04:48 is this chapter on much mall? 04:51 This 5? Much more is that, you know, worse in abounds. Much 04:56 more grace Baum says, 05:00 but verse 10. 05:02 What does it say? 05:04 It says we are justified are reconciled by his debt, 05:12 but we're saved by his life. 05:16 So I asked the men are show wants, what does that mean? 05:19 Saved by his life? 05:22 He had a new idea. 05:25 He said maybe it's because of what he's doing force today 05:31 in 18. 44, 05:34 he moved into the most holy place 05:38 and one of the first things he did. 05:41 What's the point of profit, 05:44 Illinois? 05:47 Because we were dying so early, particularly our ministers. 05:52 She outlined exactly what we should do. 05:57 It is as necessary that he should keep us by his 06:02 intercession in the sanctuary service as that he should read 06:06 game us by his blood. 06:08 His work in the sanctuary served. This is as important as 06:13 his death on the cross. 06:19 The work of health reform is a large means for lessening 06:23 suffering in our world and for purifying is church. Now you 06:27 can open a packet and get the very first thing was just a man 06:30 conference. 06:32 And that's what I want to go through with you. 06:35 The work of health reform is the large beans for lessening 06:39 suffering an hour. We understand that. 06:42 And for purifying his shirt. 06:45 When did you last hear Sherman 06:48 that because of the lack of health reform among our church 06:51 people? We're gonna P richer. 06:54 Have you ever heard? 06:56 What is your purify? The churches have reform messy. 07:02 The last and final message is to be preceded by the message 07:05 of health, a form. It is the large designed that they're 07:09 storing influence of health reform shall be a part of the 07:12 last great effort to reclaim the Gospel message. 07:17 It is supposed to start and felt 07:20 redemption starts. Remand felt 07:23 Jesus came. His first temptation was on after that 07:27 and felt 07:28 can you just take the stones and term and the bread? He was 07:32 hungry. 07:35 Have you started on your plan of salvation which is supposed 07:39 to start at the same play? What have you done on your diet 07:43 to start with? 07:45 I'm quite excited about that statement. 07:48 We are approaching the great final tests. 07:52 What is of a final test? 07:55 7 things it right. 07:57 7 Min sent 07:59 this test 08:00 must come to the church and that connection with shoe 08:04 medical missionary work. 08:07 What does a Sabbath and the sunny matter have to do a true 08:11 medical missionary work? 08:13 You read the whole paragraph at the end. 08:16 He says, oh, so be it. 08:19 Obedience is a life and death question obedience to God's 08:23 natural laws as well as obedience to one of the 10 08:27 Commandments. It is much saying they violate the laws of our 08:31 being as to break down one of the 10 Commandments. 08:37 Now it's Christ. 08:39 Do the whole issue there 08:41 that say this, 08:42 it's not through medicine use. 08:45 I graduated from the college and then again, I know this. 08:49 What's a medical vengeance? 08:52 Did you know this is the wife said 08:54 literature is not 08:58 sufficient for the task 09:01 of that than July's in the big cities. You know, she said that 09:05 you're supposed to have a medical event to boost 09:09 who works in the Senate are outside of the city 09:13 without emotion. 09:15 He does public health work. He cases they've how listen, 09:18 they don't get sick 09:22 brought up in China 09:24 and we have a China doctor Bill, 15 hospitals over there. 09:31 He has special the training from Johns Hopkins in taking 09:35 out the latest. 09:36 He was known for taking a gorgeous here. I was a boy, 09:39 12 years of age. I said to myself, why doesn't he give the 09:43 people I die so they don't get going here. 09:47 I said this is gray. 09:51 So from my experience in China, 09:53 I was very minister only oriented. 09:57 But I saw that the doctors had more influence with people. 10:00 So I decided to go into medicine, 10:03 but I want to do it in advance of this the way. 10:06 So I enrolled at the College of Medical Evangelists 10:12 we were supposed to have, 10:14 which was a senator, which means today live in life that 10:18 scent 10:19 outside of every major city 10:21 today in the eye and say you're a 50 city with a million or 10:25 more population. 10:28 We need 15 of those lifestyle of sense. 10:34 By the way, isn't it down here? 10:37 He hasn't come yet, Nick than in Rumania. 10:42 He hadn't seen can't manage anything like this. 10:46 So he I he knew I was interested in it. 10:48 So he came over here the and safe. He expected to find me at 10:53 the moment that, well, 10:54 I was up in Canada camp hope doing health work. And 11:01 so he got here and he called me. 11:04 I say you should go see Doctor, Francis, Hilo, your car, 11:07 you drive up here and he drove up 11:10 and we had a big thing at the can't be there. 11:14 I have a lecture in the Big 10 with the older people every day 11:19 we have a cooking school. We had 11:23 we have a program Jurek to teach people how to run 11:27 kitchens, food service, directors workshop 11:31 and they serve that campground people. 1000 people, 11:37 that was their letter. 11:39 I had a car. Each person is place 11:44 with this very tough says statement and on the other side 11:47 was a recipe was demonstrated. 11:50 We had one of the best programs I've ever done in health 11:54 education and Nick Dad and his wife 11:58 who have come here now to this program. They were there. 12:03 They went back home and started it. 12:06 We raise money through the Loma Linda University Church to help 12:10 them get started. 12:12 They have now a lifestyle center over there 12:17 and they've got action from the union that every confidence you 12:20 have, what 12:22 one Congress has 3, 12:24 now they're going to move on beyond their country 12:28 and get other countries to do the same. 12:31 We need these lifestyle centers outside a very big city. 12:37 We were to reform the practice of the dock to dish. 12:42 I had a hard time as a medical student with some of sister 12:45 White State. 12:47 I wasn't leaving this rite of passage. 12:51 But here's what you say. 12:53 When you understand physiology in this should set your drug 12:57 bills will need very much smaller. And finally, you will 13:01 cease to be a lot drugs at all. 13:05 Drug medication should never have been introduced into our 13:08 institutions. 13:11 Physicians resort to drugs when greatest skill and knowledge 13:15 with peace and the more excellent way 13:18 Santa turns order reform in the medical practices of 13:21 physicians, 13:23 it is a large purpose that his method that Healy, without 13:26 drugs 13:28 should be brought into prominence in every large city 13:30 to our medical institutions. 13:33 I had a hard time to understand that. 13:38 Now 13:40 our doctors had a hard time and understand that 13:45 we have a terrible time with that. 13:49 And so you know what the Lord did. He was so kind to us. 13:54 He took this nice is just a white gay and gave it to the 13:57 world. 13:58 And today they say the same thing, 14:02 the World Health Organization, the American Heart Association, 14:06 European Cardiology says it says 14:09 if we avoid 7 lifestyle risk factors 14:13 weekend or risk of cardiovascular disease, heart 14:16 attack to show 80%. 14:21 That's better than this. That we can reduce the risk of 14:25 type 2 diabetes, 88% with lifestyle. 14:30 What are these respective? 14:34 We learned that 14:36 from a 1964 surgeon general's report. 14:41 Number 2, alcohol 14:44 women say one drink it 14:46 a day for women and 2 for men might be safe. 14:51 The largest study ever been done was just completed by 14:55 Doctor Max and drizzle all 14:57 from the University of Washington up and see ET. 15:00 He did a study of 195 countries. It was funded by a 15:04 man who lived in the house 15:06 behind that university Bill Gates. He funded the 795. 15:13 He wanted to find out 15:15 how much was safe to drink because he was a social 15:18 drinker. 15:19 He got the answers. 15:21 It was 0. 15:24 It was 0. Any better about call increases your risk of thy 15:30 something 15:33 he has to. 15:37 He's a life that 15:38 as a result of his findings. 15:41 But this is scientifically thou scientific stuff. 15:45 We could go to public schools and teach the Advent health 15:48 message 15:50 Suzanne. 15:55 No tobacco second, they know I'll caught 3rd thing. Shes 15:59 sigh 16:01 Shi's is extremely important. I have outlived my 2 older 16:06 brothers already. 48 in 17 years 16:10 when I was 51, I quit my teaching at school public 16:15 health and nutrition and moved to the country 16:18 Center of California, North port. 16:20 But 26 acres of land all for Sri backed into a national 16:24 forest 16:26 bought a box of honors, change soft. 16:29 I want to work 16:31 clear land for road down to civilization. 16:35 Her about 2 acres of land for guard time. 80 fruit trees when 16:38 you're planning a 3,000 strawberry plant people. 16:41 Is that what you do with all of us are already find. They don't 16:44 understand. Everybody loves strawberries. 16:47 It's the best way to make friends. There is 16:53 I work. I exercise 16:55 my 2 brothers living in the city didn't get the exercise. 17:00 I about that. And I think 17:02 that was the reason why exercise 17:08 that overweight 17:10 is the next problem. We had to do something about a lot of 7 17:13 respected overweight 17:20 in this country. U.S. 17:22 we were the chief overweight people in the whole world 17:26 except we should be Mexico. Be this. 17:31 But we're having a problem because our children are 17:34 getting fat. 17:37 So wait is a problem. 17:41 I had a lady helping me with my PowerPoint lectures. She did 17:45 this for a living for advertising purposes to 17:48 excellent to have to work. 17:50 He was big, 17:53 not just big, big day bay. 17:58 I said to her one day, I've got to talk to you about your 18:01 weight. 18:02 I'm a preventive medicine doctor. Her fat face. Phil, 18:06 I say you, you want the good news. First are the bad news 18:09 for us. 18:11 He said give me the bad news for us. 18:13 I say you should know 18:15 for every disease. We know overweight increases your 18:18 chances. I 18:20 but let me now give you the good news 18:25 if you're obese, 18:27 but you exercise every day 18:31 you outlived the normal weight woman who does not exercise. 18:36 You got that. 18:39 A man who smokes. 18:42 He has high blood pressure. 18:45 He has high serum cholesterol, 18:47 but he exercise every day 18:49 he was out live. 18:52 I love the normal man who doesn't have any of those 5. 18:55 Who does not exercise 18:59 for every are you exercise you a live 3 ares longer. 19:04 Exercise is extremely important. 19:08 And I think that's why I have lived longer than my brothers. 19:16 The next major thing they sat beside the way 19:20 what we're eating too much fat and sugar 19:23 too much meat and sugar. 19:27 The American public. We build against that recommendation of 19:30 the heart association. So they changed it, 19:34 eat more foods than that. But then that lets me 19:39 but the head has something to their recommendation. They have 19:43 another recommendation, 19:46 which was 19:47 no more than 5 to 6% of your calories from saturated fat. 19:54 They didn't say anything about me. Nothing about the affair. 19:57 No bad words. Are you so that in upset anybody just come down 20:02 saturated fat? 20:03 What does that mean? 20:06 5 to 6% of the county's 13 grams of saturated fat 20:11 on the 2000 calorie a day diet. 20:14 What's that mean? 20:15 Let's have on the screen a little slide that shows you 20:18 exactly where the saturated fat is coming from 20:23 the sea. You need to know. 20:27 Let's see if we get on the screen here. 20:30 I want you to see this light. 20:37 There is 20:39 there it is. 20:41 The red is the saturated fat. 20:45 What's got the most accurate way to that? End it 20:50 cocaine at? 20:51 Well, I thought COVID I was a health food. Gary Fraser tells 20:55 me that in the islands where they use Marco canola oil, 20:59 they have more heart disease 21:03 in Fiji. That's the only oil. The uses Kogan that 21:07 I says you have heart disease. Yes, we do. 21:11 Heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, they have 21:15 trouble. 21:17 But next, a coke and that all what is comes next. 21:23 We have 2 things to look at its animal fat. 21:27 It's your ward. 21:30 It's your butter, 21:31 even in melt the butter fat. 21:34 So the recommendation of the heart Association is 21:38 if you use now, 21:40 don't get an email to has more than one percent that in or use 21:44 nonfat milk. 21:48 So we've got to cut down on the saturated fat 21:52 and that means animal products find mayor it, 21:57 of course, 21:58 palm oil. 21:59 Good thing. We don't have those kind of palm trees, heat, 22:05 you read your labels, you'll see we impart it and put it 22:09 into a lot of things. 22:16 Now, look at that chart. What is the yellow? 22:20 Did you 22:22 yellow is a model of saturated fatty acids like F it. 22:27 We thought it had no effect on blood cholesterol level raising 22:30 are low. 22:33 But now we know that 22:35 it's very good for us. 22:37 Avocado 22:39 is an extra food, 22:42 lower your blood cholesterol K, 22:45 but now the blue and the green you need to know about. 22:50 Those are 2 essential fatty acid by essential. I mean, 22:54 you have to have that 22:58 your body can't make them. 23:04 And then like says the move is Paula in motion. 23:11 So that's not a problem. It's easy to get. 23:15 It's so good. The heart association says 10% of your 23:19 calories could come from that. 23:23 But the next one is a green is harder to find Alpha Linoleic 23:27 acid. 23:28 Okay. The Omega 3, a 23:31 that's a good fatty acid 23:33 but it's hard to fight 23:37 and it's in black sea. 23:40 It's in here. 23:43 If you get in flak so you better grinded up otherwise it 23:46 will go right to you. You don't get a deal oil. 23:52 So here's what you know. Need to know about fat and one 23:54 little simple chart 24:01 pash. Sure. 24:03 Through his studies, the flash that did we learn about the 24:07 germ theory. That was a magnificent and that month in 24:12 help, 24:13 Frank Bouchard and the 1950's 40's said if we applied, 24:17 what we already know on nutrition would be a 24:19 tremendous, the dash and help. 24:23 Now in 2010, 24:26 it was shown that the cardiovascular disease 24:29 could be reduced to 80% 24:32 by held in the 7 lifestyle factors. 24:36 And lifestyle has even gotten into the Bible. 24:40 Some 219 verse. 59, 24:43 I have reviewed my ways. 24:47 Change it. Now. I have reviewed my lifestyle. 24:51 Are we looking at our lifestyle? 25:00 We need to cut down on saturated fat. What about this 25:02 that 25:04 millions of people were put on? Is that because our cholesterol 25:06 went up. 25:08 They did studies on longevity 25:13 and they found 25:15 for a 93% of the 8 people. The status did not help one 25:20 bit. 25:21 And on Devon, 25:24 it helped to 7%. Those who want to probably really did have 25:27 heart disease. We've been going around and say Custer Lo ex 25:32 plays he's going to get heart disease. 25:35 It's not so good. The World Cardiology Journal 25:40 1950, 15 to 2015 said what we should tell our patients today. 25:47 We should tell them we thought 25:49 that if we lower everybody's blood cholesterol, we would 25:52 have no more heart disease. It was not true. That was an 25:55 era. 25:57 We should tell them what will really help them, 26:00 which is a lifestyle, 26:03 common lifestyle factors. 26:06 That's my sister like told years ago. 26:09 Now in your packet. 26:13 Yeah, our problem today is not 26:16 without the churches within the church. 26:19 It's the this lead. One writer comment right here in the 26:23 church said we should note that Ellen White's ideas on health 26:27 were not unique, rather. She gave them in the context of 26:31 a prominent health reform movement. 26:33 Those with the knowledge that all whites councils on health 26:36 will recognize that she was in harmony with most of the 26:39 reforming the use of the healthy farmers 26:42 that arouse my religious higher 26:45 and with pen and pencil and computer. Today 26:48 I spent 2 eyes and I have in the packet 26:52 what I wrote, 26:53 what doctor Kellogg said about says the Whites, 26:58 what France is the Nichols say editor of our review and have 27:01 something here said 27:05 the fact that system White said all her material came from God 27:09 himself 27:10 made it unique and it felt 27:14 what she said was unique. 27:18 And I have in this packet these kinds of thing. Why believe in 27:22 the spirit of prophecy? 27:25 I think about how Loma Linda got started. 27:29 They didn't have any money. 27:33 They came for the second check to be given to pay for the 27:37 property. 27:39 It was 10 o'clock. 27:40 They had no money. 27:44 But the Post 9 didn't come to 2. 27:47 When the postman came, they had a letter from across the 27:50 country. Some somebody that didn't know that had the exact 27:54 amount to pay off that second. No, 28:00 that to me was exciting. 28:03 I believe in the spirit of possible. And I see how that 28:05 property was bought. 28:12 Are we supposed to tell people when we sell this year as the 28:16 culprit is the 28:18 that this material was written by profit? 28:20 >> She said, yes, sell the home. Tell them. 28:24 >> We've been holding back on that. Tell them. 28:31 >> A lot of people say it doesn't matter what what I 28:33 that's my own problem 28:36 says why says that's not true? 28:39 You affect everybody live with. 28:42 So it doesn't matter what you see 28:45 in most seminars out Hill, there's always been somebody 28:49 there's not had. That is who doesn't believe in God. 28:53 I tell him the story of Cyrus. 28:58 He you know, that he was predicted by got 150 years 29:01 before he was born. 29:05 We've been using Daniel 2, which is a good one to you. 29:10 I use that sort Cyrus, Tony. I have it in the pack. 29:15 It was 29:17 discussed by her out of this 29:19 HISTORIA 300 years prior to Josephus who was at the time of 29:25 Christ. 29:28 Then I had been that packet of the interesting thing 29:31 since the wife said you and I would put liquor on our table, 29:35 but we'll put food on the table which creates such a thirst for 29:39 drink. That is almost impossible not to drink. 29:46 Doctor, is there one know if that shoe is there any 29:48 scientific evidence for that? And in 1969, he did the Rat 29:53 City. Now, every you're at knows not to drink at him. 29:57 We don't know that yet. But every rat know not to drink 30:00 alcohol. They don't drink out 30:03 on a good that they didn't drink any out. 30:05 It was a 12 week study. 30:07 He gave them then a junk food diet 30:11 to coffee law to retake the spy flights that junk food. I have 30:15 all of us that there is that that that document 30:18 in in there 30:23 and he discovered 30:25 that is true 30:27 that they became alcoholic rats because their bodies were 30:31 making a opiates 30:35 fan, allowing 6% of our guide is from that amino acid 30:39 goes to make 30:42 another I mean, last year, which goes to make do for me, 30:47 which makes Tetra hydro from power will be found in the 30:49 poppy plant. 30:51 And when we radioactive tag that with carbon 14, 15% of the 30:54 carbon 14 appeared in the year as Cody are morphing, heart 31:00 pro Cody and probe are Fay. 31:05 Now we're very excited about what we're finding net. Okay. 31:09 In overweight people. 31:12 There's a medicine that they produce call doesn't pick was 31:15 some ugly tie to harm 31:18 it. Make you produce more beta cells. 31:22 We just more insulin 31:26 if design for the day that but the overweight people have 31:30 insulin resistance. 31:33 >> And there's a group of they're making pm why we need 31:37 to find out. 31:39 They have a desire for alcohol because of the opium that there 31:44 may be. 31:46 We need to find out what's going on, show them how to get 31:49 over that problem. 31:57 I have in here 32:00 article I wrote about 32:02 EU. I writing to be unique because they're off from God 32:07 and I have the list of state and she has on drugs. 32:11 We shouldn't be using those drugs, 32:13 but it's a lifestyle primarily and we should be using. 32:17 Then I have there document on why health is used so much in 32:24 to win souls. 32:25 The chief of the church and every member issue when sold we 32:30 are to the missionary having our chief aim the winningest 32:34 souls to Christ. 32:36 He who wins souls is why 32:39 let him know the heat, which converts the center from the 32:43 air of his way. She'll have say they saw from debt as all hide 32:47 a multitude of sins 32:50 and they that the wind shall shine is the rightness of the 32:53 permanent. And they that Karen, many to righteousness as the 32:56 stars for ever and ever help removes presidents. 2 are 33:01 missing. When people see where sound and health they will feel 33:04 like we are also sound in Bible truth. 33:10 Let your work is good. 33:13 We should use your dishes. We give out the live issue 33:16 and the day is coming when 1000 people will be convert every 33:21 day because of the first thing that they learned about ad that 33:25 was to the issue. 33:28 Some are on willingly convert, but a live issue she said, 33:32 but she said help with the person involved is worth even 33:36 more. 33:41 So nutritious interviews to help us 33:45 that arouse. And they're thinking 33:47 just search of a 33:52 we can show them out. God says in the Bible 33:57 that he is the only one who can predict the future. That proves 34:01 there is a God. 34:02 Cyrus, early tales that 34:05 and then we uphold use 34:08 Jesus Christ is the dominant personality and all of history. 34:12 The calendar is based on his birth. 34:15 Harry could not do it. 34:17 The devil cannot sedition. 34:20 Death could not corrupt his body. 34:22 They're great. Could not hold him captive. 34:25 His lineage was compromised by Ruth. The Moabite is Andrei 34:29 have the prostitute. 34:31 When he was born, there was light at midnight 34:33 when he died. That was doctor said midday. 34:37 Jesus preached from any poll puts. But the cross was the 34:40 most glorious Ellen White Rice, a cross of Christ will be the 34:44 science of the song of the reading through all the 34:47 tragedy. 34:49 He never received a formal education. 34:52 He's only credential was himself. 34:55 He never quoted anyone other than it's out in the pages of 34:58 the Old Testament. 34:59 His ID card was his service for others. 35:03 He did not have an officer hold public office or write any book 35:07 or compose any song but has inspired an infinite amount of 35:11 books hands on and is the main character in the greatest 35:15 amount of biographical. If you're anywhere, 35:18 he never practice medicine or psychotic in any clinical 35:22 hospital, but has healed more broken heart that all the 35:25 doctors, psychiatrists and psychologists put together it. 35:29 The thief on the cross next to you said just 2 words. Remember 35:33 me 35:34 and Jesus current heated. 35:36 You will be with me in Paradise and transforms Calvary into a 35:41 back to Sri 35:42 his teachings and his ethics are true paradox. 35:46 The first shall be last. And the last shall be. First we 35:50 live when we die. 35:51 Those who abandon all for him to receive all back purified in 35:55 fullness. 35:56 The meek shall inherit the year by word and example he for ever 36:00 inverted the pyramid of par. He spoke to those with whom, 36:04 you know, once what he touched the untouchable, 36:07 no one could ever. And then a person like G 4. He transcends 36:11 everything anyone could ever imagine. 36:14 James isn't the only one capable of imploding. The 36:18 foundations of the car donation bringing to hate what we are in 36:22 our sinful state. Only then to fall in love what we can become 36:27 in him. 36:29 We have to pull G's you and all people to be brought in. 36:34 I have to explain to you 36:37 council sorry 36:40 if we work for Jesus. He works in this. 36:43 He is with us till the end of time. 36:47 I was over there 36:49 in Taiwan. 36:51 I'll have to tell you how I got there. 36:54 The doctor who decided with the EU as a physician go to serve 37:00 in Taiwan or Jeremy 37:02 was a graduate from Oman. 37:05 He was not madness, but he was Fresno, the Lung association, 37:09 2 years in a row. 37:10 I knew where he and then 37:12 in Takoma Park. One Sunday morning I knocked on his door. 37:16 I said Doctor worked. 37:19 I speak about it. 37:21 I like to be sent to China. They retired in Florida. 38:22 The husband, of course, is why she had his kid care of this 38:27 Boyer South. 38:30 I was on the CAC meetings circuit. 38:33 I came to Oklahoma. They actually have the devotions. 38:37 Please have the devotion for the workers, everyone. 38:40 The second day I had my devotion of there 38:44 and then there came up to me 38:46 7 that 38:48 he said, did you ever deliver a baby on an airplane? 38:52 >> I thought for a moment, I say yes. Once that I want, 38:55 he said I was a baby. 38:59 They were not know this. 39:01 >> They attribute a tribute 39:04 me to the fact that they became evident. 39:07 I don't know what I did. 39:11 You know, the disciples 39:13 could be told that they had been was gee, they could tip 39:17 people get out. They have been easy. 39:19 I think that's an admission wish to have around us. 39:23 >> That people know within with Jesus 39:26 because I don't know anything. I did 39:29 that. This man became a conference present a print on 39:32 the conference. 39:33 And while on the campaign he started his tenure. 39:37 He started telling his life story. 39:40 He was deliver our airplane by Doctor John Sharp forgot to add 39:43 the stock and I had grand chose sitting there that never heard 39:47 this story before their bye, John Dollar sure, 39:54 they came into the shared. Now he's retired 39:57 and I'm still working. 40:00 Haha, 40:03 I know the Lord was in that 40:07 I think brother Yen in Taiwan. 40:10 This young man 40:12 had gone to the Bible. Of course, final scores. 3 hot 40:17 before he was sure was right. 40:21 The exception was baptized. 40:24 But every young man has to serve in the military for 4 40:26 months. 40:28 He explained who has captained his from his captain tried to 40:31 help him. 40:35 He said I'll tell you what we'll do. 40:37 We'll send you out of the 40:40 come the every Saturday for the people want to buy food for the 40:44 company. 40:45 And when you get out, 40:48 you have your Bible. You can go over the him study all day and 40:52 come back 40:53 at the end of the day 40:55 and will have on the record that you are out with a group 40:58 buying the food on the Senate. 41:00 All? No, no, I can't do that. I can have any records show. 41:05 I worked on site. And so he a few that kind offer. 41:11 He had to be important. 41:12 He was putting J. 41:15 He got diarrhea, 41:17 so bad that I was going to die. 41:20 So they sent him home. But he had to report back to the jail 41:23 once a week 41:26 now that this could be on the chattering, their friend of put 41:30 him in jail for the rest of his life. 41:36 So I got a call from actually Jerry Christensen tie. 41:41 He said you're with the American military. Can you come 41:44 and help us with the situation? 41:48 I said I can't come in the middle of the week. I have to 41:50 be with my troops, 41:52 but I can come at the beginning or the end. He said you better 41:55 make it at the end 41:57 because this attorney, you have to see has gone up to Taipei 42:02 to see the chief attorney of the whole note area timeline 42:07 to see he had the authority to put in jail. The rest is light. 42:12 He'll need to see him. So you need to come and then the week? 42:16 Well, it was Thursday. I got on a train, went from Thai Chung 42:20 or I was 42:22 to the middle 42:24 of the eye 42:29 and they expected a Chinese Air Force Huntsville. 42:33 It was 10 o'clock at night. They were taking me to a hotel. 42:37 I felt impressed 42:39 strongly. I must go on that same night. 42:44 So I told the people take me to the room. The station, Chinese 42:48 don't 42:49 go this time. The night 42:52 I was only one on the station while my taking waiting for the 42:55 train. 42:56 But I feel so impressed by Musk on that night. 43:01 A shift change. Stop 43:03 a car with the steps of the car right in front of me. 43:08 I got on 43:10 hoping there would be not much smoking. I'd already made up my 43:14 mind. I wasn't a speak. Any Chinese even die Newsom shining 43:18 because somebody find that office the next day I was going 43:22 to pretend I didn't know anything. And just here, 43:25 everything I get here, 43:27 what they're planning to do yet. 43:33 I went down there 43:35 and here on this side of the was a short stocky major. 43:41 He smiles so big. And may I say we want to ask a question now 43:45 that was and they say 43:47 the cause. He started questioning me, Cheney, are you 43:51 going to time and yes, I'm going to kind of n 43:56 are you going to stay on the Chinese hotel? 43:59 I said no. And shiny. 44:02 Share your going to stay and American hotel. I said no. 44:07 He said are you going to stay with American missionary 44:10 friend? 44:11 I say yes. 44:14 Who do you think this man 44:16 west? 44:18 >> He was a party was coming out to sea 44:21 Ward worked out the whole program. 44:24 I wasn't as big Chinese Vera was talking to it. I said how 44:27 stupid of me he knows. I understand shining. I'm asking 44:31 these questions. 44:33 >> I found out who he what he had permission to put Yana jail 44:38 the rest of his life. 44:41 You know what I was coming for? We made it official appointment 44:45 to see each of the next day 44:47 make a long story. Sure. He had had a court raft had a 44:51 court trial. He had to go back and serve in the army and never 44:54 finishes for months. 44:57 This attorney who is said to put him in jail for the rest of 45:00 his life, went out to see how he is getting a lot. 45:03 His officers say he's the best soldier we have, 45:06 but he has a most peculiar Ellis Hill as he sic every 7th 45:11 today, the way 45:14 as the Chinese way of saying we're letting him also his 45:16 Sabha 45:20 rather yen learning as well. 45:23 They came conference president in Hong Kong 45:28 was he was a listening ear for everything going on with the 45:31 ad. This in mainland China. 45:36 He became of Angeles, 45:38 got his degree from Andrews University in the race. 45:42 He became advantage of this. 45:45 He's passed away now. 45:49 But China is exciting. 45:52 What's going on over there in China 45:55 when we had missionaries over there from 19, 0, 5, The doctor 45:59 know 46:00 have to 1948. 49 when we left because 46:04 much to do was coming in comments. All the missionaries 46:08 that 46:10 that's when I landed there, 46:13 the ranch and met me said, what are you doing here? I said I 46:17 can't do it. In missionary to China. He said we're all 46:19 leaving. 46:25 It's exciting. 46:27 We had only 2122,000 members at the time. The mission age where 46:34 there, 46:34 you know how many members we have now in China, 46:38 472,000, 46:43 you see what the Lord can do 46:46 without missionaries. Even 46:49 the underground churches dollars. It's 6 a 46:55 well. I knew the Lord was with me 46:58 to give me the impression I should go on that night. 47:01 I knew the Lord was with me and changing my plan. I wasn't 47:04 going street Cheney. 47:06 I don't know what happened. 47:09 But he 47:11 became a leading evangelists in our church, 47:15 even in our churches. And 47:21 let me tell you the story 47:25 I was in the roadway. 47:27 Doctor, Paul W*** Guy, 47:29 God is national public health warmer than that spoke English? 47:34 Well, 47:35 his wife was the physician for the talent and the Roe V. 47:41 He said, you know, health is working so well to bring people 47:45 into the church. 47:46 We must show everybody how to do it. 47:50 So he organized a program to bring in all the manager, 47:54 all the educators, all the health workers. 47:57 I was going to cost $40,000. He raised the money from the 48:00 local businesses. 48:04 They rented the biggest honor, joined the Vegas hotel. They 48:07 could find she did 500. 48:10 You had to have a coupon to get in. You have to pay for it. 48:13 But yet asked for no ad that's can get it. Could it get into 48:16 this meeting unless he had a Cuba unless he drops in on at 48:20 this with me 48:22 the place was packed. 48:23 I had the first to hate 48:25 Walter Perez and the black 48:28 breath of life. You're here. The U.S. 48:31 he had the next 4 nights. But he gave me part of his. 48:34 I have a little help. Talked 48:36 the beginning. Each of those like that 48:39 on a story of costs that $10,000, 48:43 a local business that had not paid for it. 48:48 Doctor W***, I had me come out 11 days before the evangelist 48:52 against it. 48:54 He had me talked to the Leading Baptist Church 48:58 when the pastor of that church in south just found in the 49:01 Bible, the sap. 49:07 He had me talk to all the staff, various hospital. 49:10 He had me talk to the Millionaires Club to be a 49:14 member of that club. You had to be a millionaire before you're 49:17 30 years of age 49:22 and all kinds of meetings like that. 49:25 We had this big guy 49:30 and then just maybe 49:32 100 people signed up for Biden said 49:36 a young Muslim was back pie. 49:40 He began 49:42 to speak in his mosque 49:46 tradition. The shakes said he's not talking straightforward 49:50 Muslim. It is it. 49:52 We should assassinated. 49:54 And they came in with hand grenades under their white 49:57 gowns 49:59 and the young man was a stand-up and reviled and 50:01 publicly that was saying the to so the handgun, 50:09 the young man stood up, opened his mouth. 50:13 At that moment. His jaw was dislocated 50:17 and he couldn't speak. 50:25 He could be 50:27 his father thought he's going to die. So the bottom 2 are 50:30 converted Muslim, an action to pray for him. He prayed for 50:34 Juan and his jaw flip back in place. 50:38 He could be. 50:41 But the father of this young man who then that ice most got 50:45 him on his 50:47 fathers tent on the floor with a knife to kill it. 50:52 He's due to brothers, came in 50:55 and saw his father. They're ready to kill 50:58 this man. 51:00 They took the knife from the father and said we can't kill 51:03 one of our own will just cows out his eye. So you can read 51:07 the script. 51:10 One I popped out. 51:12 He's crane, jumped up and got away. 51:15 He said he had to read the scripture quickly now before 51:18 they come for the other eye, 51:22 that man has been charged 51:24 of a Muslim Bible course line school ever since 51:28 he knows exactly how the Moses thinks and how they get food. 51:34 By the way, you think God 51:37 this located that, Joe, 51:42 I know God was in this. I know what 51:47 from that place 51:49 and there will be our team moved to Botswana 51:54 and we talked for 3 days with parliament. 51:59 They were so excited about our message. 52:03 I saw the excitement. 52:05 I saw it. 52:07 I learned later for the cabinet. Ministers were 52:11 baptized as 7th at minutes. 52:15 God is with us. 52:17 >> We work with him. He works with us. 52:20 He'll be with you till the end of the world. 52:25 I still remember in my step, special topics, class in school 52:29 of public health. 52:31 It was only supposed to be for ad. 52:34 >> Just not that bit of that mission from China got into 52:37 that. But I don't know how 52:40 those were the days. We examined 52:43 people with 3 professes to see if they could graduate get 52:47 there and Ph mask in public health. 52:51 Doctor James Blankenship was in charge of her committee. 52:55 I was on her committee. 52:57 It came time for the discussion. We had prayer 53:01 and then doctor Blankenship said, Vivian, 53:04 you have anything to say before we start to question. She said, 53:08 yes, I do. 53:09 >> I was in Doctor Shah comers class. He would tell us of 53:13 something. Signs have rediscovered. Then he of hole 53:16 of a book I've never seen before council and it moves 53:21 and say we we knew this many years ago 53:25 I went out and bought a counselor 9 food. 53:29 >> Now when I go back to Hong Kong, the first thing I'm going 53:32 to do is be baptized and joined the 7th and the church. 53:38 You think God was in that 53:42 I'm so excited 53:44 about how God is with. 53:46 I took students of the Philippines. First one to takes 53:49 students overseas. 53:51 I'm are university. 53:53 We went to a little island polio. They were to find an eye 53:57 on where those and malnutrition and under 5 you 54:02 and they would Ranger program to cure 54:06 even after they let the second day 54:12 it was to have evangelists that potential. 54:17 26 people, young people were baptized that summer. 54:23 I had a friend over there for vacation recently and he 54:27 checked on it 54:28 today. 54:30 60%. The people in that island are back to a 7th day 54:34 Adventists. 54:36 That's what the h*** can do. 54:39 The year after I left, it was a new church started and the town 54:43 next door 54:45 we learned how to farm 54:48 they care about. 54:50 We planted a garden. We did still cash. So they all had 54:54 warns 3 different kinds of worms 54:57 that bring this investment and a coconut shell. One Biden have 55:01 assessment. 55:02 So the other wide discretion, a divided his with with it. 55:07 So they'll have a special visit. 55:09 >> They all have to read it kinds of words 55:13 and hope for him that night. We had a shoe problem. 55:16 We had to somebody's shoes. 55:19 We had Gardy. 55:21 We had a toilet building compass. That was the biggest 55:25 problem. We had was toilets. 55:28 They didn't like out houses 55:30 because when the boards got old, somebody fell through, 55:32 they got a bad nickname. 55:38 We had half of the houses had told this. By the time I left 55:42 that place, 55:44 indoor toilets that we design cement floors no falling 55:48 through. 55:52 But you think what health does, 55:55 60% of the islands are now back to a 7th day Adventists 56:01 just to the health ministry. 56:04 Well, I'm so excited to be about what is happening 56:08 >> in the health field now, a couple other thing you want to 56:11 tell you about on these stories. 56:20 I didn't think I was and that of Angeles. 56:23 So I went to L a welcome burglary. He was taking us 56:26 young people 56:27 how to do and 56:29 I work with him to Liberia. There were 1000 to 1500 people 56:34 in front of me. 56:35 First I ever did. Events was ever all by myself. 56:42 223 people were baptized. We started a new church. 56:49 The feeling is right. 56:51 We need to workers to go out and do the work. 56:59 There was a good girl over there translated for me. 57:02 She was a Catholic or a pediatrician. 57:05 He translated from helping. But the current 57:10 promoting the tear and that she was a visitor. 57:17 He was so kind to people. 57:20 I finally told her I'd adopt. There's I don't. 57:26 It took 3 years. 57:28 He was baptized 7 badness. 57:30 The next day he was made conference medical director. 57:34 She is now presently conference medical director and Slovakia. 57:40 I still remember that lady on the 3rd floor. That big meeting 57:44 we had. 57:45 She said it is all right. He writes for all, 57:52 I'm too fast answers. 57:54 I'm a real quick you better at your side, Kyra. Just that 57:57 question. Haha. That wasn't nice. I've been feeling bad 58:02 about it ever since. 58:05 And you know that it was there with me 58:08 in the room at the time. He thought that was the same 58:10 when they said. 58:11 And it was, as you have ever say, that young would have 58:14 never done that. She would have spent 30 minute. Explain. 58:17 Why shouldn't you shouldn't eat rice withdraw? 58:22 But she's never objected today.
