00:12 Welcome to Anchors Of Truth from the 3ABN Worship Center.
00:17 Rise Of The Antichrist, with Kenneth Cox
00:27 We are so very, very pleased and happy to have you with us for
00:31 the beginning of what we suspect will be a very powerful
00:35 series of meetings.
00:37 Our speaker is no stranger to the 3ABN audience.
00:41 He is a preacher of long standing.
00:43 A preacher of righteousness, dare I say.
00:46 One who has spent many, many years in the service
00:50 of the Lord.
00:51 We are very, very please to have Ken Cox back with us.
00:55 And we know that we're going to get messages that have been
00:59 prayed over and have been studied, and that will be
01:04 a blessing to us.
01:07 Over the last several years he has been a featured
01:09 speaker here on 3ABN.
01:10 And when we travel the country, we always here that
01:14 there are so many who are blessed by Pastor Cox
01:18 and by his presentations as he took us through
01:21 the book of Revelation.
01:23 During this series, we go to another very prophetic book;
01:26 the book of Daniel.
01:27 And so we know that God is going to bless us in a
01:30 very, very special way.
01:31 I'm going to ask you now to bow your heads with me
01:34 as we pray, and as we prepare for the music,
01:37 and the message which is to follow.
01:40 Gracious Father, we just praise You and thank You so very much
01:44 for the privilege of serving You.
01:48 We thank You for the Word and for the power of the Word,
01:53 and for what we learn when we study the Word,
01:57 and how it impacts our lives and makes us stronger
02:00 in Christ Jesus.
02:02 And so this night, Father, we ask that You would
02:05 be with Pastor Cox.
02:07 Touch his mind as You have so many times in the past.
02:09 Touch his lips.
02:10 May the words that he brings to us be meat in due season.
02:15 But more than that, prepare our hearts;
02:18 those here in this place and those who are listening
02:22 and watching around the world.
02:25 Lord, may we receive, not only a blessing,
02:29 but many we receive information and inspiration.
02:34 And may we draw a little closer to Jesus.
02:37 May we be doers of the Word, not just hearers.
02:42 And we thank You in advance for the move of the Holy Spirit
02:46 that will be in this place this night.
02:48 In Jesus name, amen.
03:03 I lay my sins on Jesus,
03:09 the spotless Lamb of God;
03:17 He bears them all and frees us
03:25 from the accursed load,
03:32 from the accursed load.
03:39 I bring my guilt to Jesus
03:46 to wash my crimson stains
03:53 white in His blood most precious
04:00 till not a stain remains,
04:08 till not a stain remains.
04:23 I lay my wants on Jesus,
04:29 all fullness dwells in Him;
04:36 He healeth my diseases,
04:44 He doth my soul redeem,
04:51 He doth my soul redeem.
05:13 I long to be with Jesus
05:19 amid the heavenly throng
05:27 to sing with them His praises
05:34 and learn the angels' song,
05:42 and learn the angels' song.
05:50 I lay my sins on Jesus.
06:12 Amen, thank you very much brother C.A. Murray.
06:16 And welcome to Anchors Of Truth.
06:21 And I have looked forward to this tonight.
06:27 Pastor Kenneth Cox is a Bible student,
06:31 an evangelist, a pastor, a man who loves God.
06:36 I've known him for very many years.
06:39 I've had the pleasure of serving on the board of directors of
06:43 Kenneth Cox Ministries for years.
06:45 Along with Danny Shelton, who's also a member of that board.
06:48 I had the privilege of chairing the board for five years.
06:52 And I believe in the ministry of Elder Cox.
06:58 He has been all over the world.
07:00 If not physically, he has been through television and by video.
07:06 His videos preceded his use of television.
07:11 I remember years ago when Carl Branstert came from Australia
07:18 and he taped the Kenneth Cox crusade at that time.
07:24 And it was distributed all over the world.
07:29 We have seen so many tremendous results
07:34 from that ministry and from the videos that have
07:39 gone around the world.
07:41 In addition to that, Kenneth, of course, has held
07:44 hundreds literally of crusades.
07:47 There is probably not another minister in this denomination
07:53 who has held as many full-fledged evangelistic
07:56 crusades as Pastor Cox.
08:00 I remember John Carter and I talking about this one time.
08:04 And he told me, he said, "Kenneth Cox
08:08 is an evangelist's evangelist."
08:12 He is a man who loves the Lord,
08:14 who loves the message of Jesus Christ,
08:17 loves the prophecies that God has given to us.
08:21 And so tonight, he is going to be sharing with us
08:26 on a very important doctrine.
08:29 One that we've asked him to talk about;
08:31 the little horn of Daniel the seventh chapter.
08:36 We feel that this is very timely.
08:39 It's important in this time, in the history of this world,
08:43 for us to be looking at what the Bible says about this prophecy.
08:49 It's little known by many people, but those who are
08:53 Bible students know that the little horn
08:58 is a very big subject.
09:02 And so tonight we welcome to this pulpit
09:06 and to 3ABN Pastor Kenneth Cox.
09:13 Thank you, Jim. I appreciate that.
09:15 Good evening.
09:17 I'm very happy to welcome each of you back again this evening
09:22 for a series.
09:25 This series is entitled, Anchors Of Truth.
09:28 But it's a series about, The Rise of the Antichrist.
09:33 And so those of you who are watching by television,
09:38 or listening on the radio, or here with us tonight,
09:41 whichever way it is, we hope that this will bless you
09:44 in a special way.
09:45 Now when I say, this series is on the rise of the antichrist,
09:50 we're going to be spending five subjects on the antichrist.
09:54 That's what we're going to be looking at.
09:56 And so we're going to be taking you through the Bible
09:59 and what it has to say about the antichrist.
10:02 It's a very, very important subject.
10:04 One that you and I need to understand,
10:07 as God has revealed much in the Scripture concerning this.
10:13 In fact, our subject this evening is entitled,
10:17 The Little Horn of Daniel 7.
10:20 The Little Horn of Daniel 7.
10:23 God uses many different types of symbolism
10:30 to identify the little horn, not just one.
10:35 And therefore, it's necessary that you and I understand
10:38 what the little horn is, who it is, where it comes from,
10:42 and the symbolism that represents it.
10:44 And tonight, the little horn represents the antichrist.
10:49 That's what we're talking about and we're
10:50 going to be looking at.
10:52 But as we take a look at this subject
10:56 in Daniel, it makes a statement and it says this.
11:01 It says...
11:05 Just a minute, let me get where I can read it.
11:21 It says, "Those who are wise..."
11:25 Now you'll find when it says, "Those who are wise,"
11:28 it's talking about a group of people.
11:32 A special group of people.
11:34 And these people are mentioned several places,
11:37 not just here in Daniel.
11:39 But it's mentioned in the book of Revelation.
11:42 It continues in Daniel saying...
11:52 Alright, Daniel 12:9, it says, shut up the book or seal it,
11:56 for the words are sealed "until the time of the end."
12:00 It has to be talking about at the end of time
12:03 before Jesus comes.
12:05 Listen to what he says here, verse 10.
12:22 See, it's referring back to that same word, "wise."
12:26 "The wise shall understand."
12:27 In Hebrew, that word "wise" is a word called, "maskilim."
12:33 This is the word for "wise."
12:35 And when it's talking about the maskilim,
12:37 these are a group of people.
12:40 People that are not only wise concerning the Scripture,
12:44 but they're wise in their conduct and how they
12:46 conduct themselves.
12:48 And so this is a special group of people.
12:51 And the Bible is very clear that you and I
12:55 want to be among these.
12:58 This group of people are talked about over in Revelation.
13:02 Revelation 14 verse 12.
13:13 John takes this group of people and puts them among
13:18 these that are of the maskilim.
13:20 Because when you read Revelation 13:18,
13:25 it says this, "Here is..." What?
13:29 Okay.
13:30 Wise, here are those that are wise.
13:33 "Here is wisdom."
13:34 What about them?
13:45 So when it talks about the beast here...
13:48 And we'll be studying that in another night or two.
13:51 ...that the beast is also that of the antichrist.
13:54 Another symbolism that's used for the antichrist
13:58 is the beast.
14:00 And so it says, "Here is wisdom."
14:02 Here's the person that's wise, that understands;
14:06 the maskilim.
14:08 Again, Revelation 17 verses 9 and 10, it says...
14:19 And so we find that the Scripture refers to this
14:22 group of people who are wise.
14:26 And what you and I need to be tonight is, we need to be wise.
14:31 We need to be among the maskilim
14:35 and understand what it has to say particularly
14:38 about the antichrist.
14:40 And so tonight, we're going to Daniel the seventh chapter.
14:46 We're going to take a look at the little horn.
14:49 Because the Scripture identifies the little horn
14:52 as the antichrist.
14:55 Now this is important, folks, because the Scripture says
15:00 more about this power, about the antichrist,
15:05 than it does any other power in all of the Scripture.
15:10 So it's very important that you and I
15:13 understand what it's saying.
15:15 So let's go to Daniel 7 verse 3.
15:19 And it says...
15:25 So we have four beasts coming up out of the sea.
15:28 And again, you're going to see as we continue through
15:32 the series, these four beasts are important
15:37 because they set an order that's necessary that
15:41 you and I understand.
15:43 Four beasts came up out of the sea.
15:45 And it says, "Those great beasts, which are four..."
15:54 But Scripture doesn't leave us an any doubt
15:56 as to who these four beasts are.
16:00 And it tells us, "The first one was like a lion..."
16:17 So this first one is a lion.
16:21 It has eagle's wings.
16:24 It has a man's heart.
16:26 And it stood up on two feet.
16:30 Now if you went over to the ruins of Babylon of old,
16:36 you would find that this lion is not something that wasn't
16:40 pictured there.
16:41 It was.
16:42 In fact, Scripture refers to Babylon as the lion.
16:47 Listen to what is says in Jeremiah 4 verse 7.
17:02 So this lion which was Babylon, was going to come in and
17:08 destroy many of the nations.
17:10 Now what you're looking at there on the screen
17:14 is a picture of the Ishtar Gate.
17:17 Part of it, I should say.
17:19 And you'll notice there the lion.
17:20 And if you look carefully, you can see the eagle's wings
17:25 as they're painted on the lion there.
17:28 This was pictured...
17:30 The British museum, who came in and did excavation on the ruins
17:35 of Babylon, found statues of lions with eagle's wings
17:39 that pictured Babylon of old.
17:43 Daniel, as he explained this vision, talked about
17:49 this lion being Babylon.
17:53 Babylon overthrew the kingdom of Syria in 605 BC.
18:01 Nebuchadnezzar had taken everything that he could take
18:05 and had literally lavished it upon the city of Babylon.
18:08 And it was a marvelous, wonderful kingdom
18:12 that he had built.
18:14 And Babylon lasted for a total of 70 years.
18:19 That's all, 70 years.
18:21 Nebuchadnezzar ruled 40 of those 70 years.
18:27 But we continue on and it talks about another beast.
18:31 Daniel 7 verse 5.
18:46 So now we have a bear coming up out of the sea.
18:52 This bear raises himself up on one side.
18:56 It has three ribs in its mouth.
18:59 And this represented the country of Medo-Persia.
19:04 Darius the Mede and Cyrus the Persian
19:11 went together and formed a coalition to overthrow
19:15 the city of Babylon.
19:18 And thus they went up, Cyrus particularly as the general,
19:21 went up and surrounded the city of Babylon
19:24 and overthrew it.
19:27 The Medes and Persians took everything that was before them.
19:31 Kind of like a bear, slow and cumbersome.
19:34 But they moved in and they took one territory after another.
19:38 The three ribs and the mouth of this bear
19:42 represented the three countries that they overthrew;
19:45 which was Egypt in 535 BC, Babylon in 539 BC,
19:51 Lydia in 546 BC.
19:54 They took one country after another and ruled
19:58 the whole country.
20:00 Marvelous what God did for the country of Medo-Persia.
20:05 We'll talk about it.
20:06 A lot of great people, and I'm talking about God's people,
20:10 that lived during the time of the Medes and Persians.
20:14 They served the Lord, they were great witnesses for God.
20:18 And the country of Medo-Persia had an opportunity to see God,
20:22 like very few others had an opportunity.
20:26 But after the bear it says that there was another.
20:30 And by the way, Medo-Persia overthrew Babylon in 539 BC.
20:38 The next one, Daniel 7 verse 6...
20:52 So now we have a beast, it's like a leopard.
20:57 Instead of having two wings, it has four wings.
21:01 And it also has four heads.
21:04 This represented the country of Greece.
21:08 History tells us clearly, and so does the Scripture
21:10 tell us clearly, that Greece overthrew Medo-Persia
21:16 under the leadership of Alexander the Great.
21:20 Alexander the Great met Darius and the Medes and Persians
21:25 on the plains of Arbela in 331 BC.
21:32 Darius had over one million men.
21:37 Alexander the Great had 40,000.
21:42 And by implementing a new type of warfare,
21:46 Alexander the Great overthrew him.
21:50 Alexander the Great took everything that was before him.
21:53 And by the way, it's interesting that it makes the statement
21:57 in Scripture here that he would rule the world.
21:59 And he did, basically.
22:01 Taking his army, marched it clear to the borders of the
22:04 country of India.
22:05 And to the place that his soldiers refused
22:07 to go any farther.
22:10 And they're headed back home.
22:14 Alexander the Great, 32 years of age, suffering from
22:23 drunkenness, from malaria, he's laying on a table
22:31 in the city of Babylon, dying.
22:36 And as he lays there, his four generals come in.
22:40 And they said to him, "To whom will you give the kingdom?"
22:43 And he said, "I'll give my kingdom to the strongest."
22:48 Those four wings on that leopard represented the swiftness
22:53 with which he took every country that was before him.
22:56 And the four heads represented Alexander the Great's
23:00 four generals that the kingdom was divided among them.
23:05 Cassander was divided and he was given Macedonia and Greece.
23:18 They divided up Alexander the Great's kingdom,
23:23 just exactly as the Scripture said they would.
23:27 Now you need to follow, folks, and put it down in your memory
23:31 because it'll become very important.
23:33 And we've looked at Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece.
23:39 Three nations.
23:40 Now we come to the fourth one.
23:44 And by the way, Greece overthrew Medo-Persia in 331 BC.
23:50 The fourth one, it says, "After this I saw
23:53 in the night vision..."
24:16 This beast, different than all the others.
24:22 It says that it devoured everything that was before it.
24:25 Stamped the residue with its feet.
24:27 It overthrew everything.
24:29 And this was the kingdom of pagan Rome.
24:34 Pagan Rome used a different philosophy.
24:39 Whereas Nebuchadnezzar, Cyrus, Alexander,
24:47 they came in and overthrew one country after another,
24:50 cities one after another, but Rome didn't do that.
24:56 Rome gave them a choice.
24:59 They told them, "Join us and we'll give you protection.
25:07 We'll look after you, care for you,
25:09 give you protection.
25:13 We'll make sure that everything is alright.
25:16 And some of your men will have to go with us as soldiers.
25:20 But we'll give you part of the spoils.
25:23 And we'll care for you."
25:24 And many of them joined pagan Rome because of that philosophy.
25:30 If they didn't, they just trampled right over them.
25:34 Overthrew them.
25:35 One after another, they took the whole country.
25:39 And as you remember, pagan Rome is pictured in Scripture
25:44 as having great iron teeth as it devoured one thing.
25:50 And you remember, it was under pagan Rome
25:53 that the children in Bethlehem were slain.
25:58 You also remember, it was under pagan Rome
26:01 that Jesus was born.
26:04 And Jesus was born at that time for a definite reason
26:10 and purpose, folks.
26:12 You see, Rome was not only...
26:15 How should I put it?
26:18 It would devour everything before it, was cruel.
26:20 It did a lot of things it shouldn't.
26:23 But it also did something else.
26:25 It made the highways, the waterways and all, safe.
26:31 It basically, even as bad as Rome was, she brought
26:36 civilization to the world.
26:38 Because all of a sudden, people could travel where they
26:40 never could before.
26:42 And Jesus Christ was born at this particular time in history
26:48 because it opened up the way for the gospel to be
26:51 taken to the world.
26:53 Where before it could not be done, now it was possible.
26:58 And it spread throughout the world and a
27:00 crucified risen Savior was preached.
27:03 And the church literally multiplied by the thousands,
27:08 because the gospel was made possible.
27:12 Rome overthrew Greece in 168 BC.
27:20 Now we come to the next part.
27:25 "And it was different..." This beast was different.
27:34 So this particular beast is different in the fact
27:36 that it has ten horns.
27:41 You see, at this time in history, 457 BC,
27:47 Rome has grown...
27:48 How should I put it?
27:50 Maybe I should say, old.
27:52 She's having trouble holding her kingdom together.
27:54 She has ruled longer than any other kingdom.
27:57 But she's just struggling.
28:01 And they've taken the capital and moved it from
28:05 Rome to Constantinople.
28:07 And all of a sudden, north, the Germanic tribes
28:14 that lived in the north, they were people called the Goths.
28:18 They begin to move down on the Roman Empire.
28:22 And as they moved down on the Roman Empire,
28:25 they broke it to pieces.
28:27 They were such people as the Anglo-Saxons, and the Franks,
28:31 and the Heruli, and the Vandals, and the Ostrogoths.
28:34 And they broke up the Roman Empire.
28:38 These ten nations, tribes...
28:43 Whatever you want to call them.
28:44 ...became the nations of Western Europe.
28:58 The Scripture is very clear exactly where it's
29:01 going to arise from.
29:03 They were the Alamanni, the Ostrogoths, the Visigoths,
29:06 the Franks, and so forth.
29:08 And these, as I mentioned, became the nations of
29:11 Western Europe.
29:13 Now follow me carefully, because all of a sudden
29:17 there's a metamorphosis that begins to take place here
29:20 that you need to understand.
29:23 Daniel 7 verse 8.
29:47 So now all of a sudden among those ten,
29:49 a little horn is coming up.
29:54 Now listen to all that the Scripture says about
29:56 this little horn.
29:57 Because it says more about this power than it does
30:00 any other power in Scripture.
30:11 Let's clarify when it says, "shall arise from this kingdom,"
30:15 what kingdom is it talking about?
30:17 Pagan Rome.
30:18 So it says it shall arise from pagan Rome.
30:46 So this little horn is going to do definite things.
30:49 And the Scripture gives you eight points of identifying
30:53 this little horn.
30:54 And this little horn, as far as the Scripture is concerned,
30:58 is the antichrist.
31:00 So listen to them.
31:02 Make sure you understand what they are.
31:04 One, it says it would rise among them.
31:07 Two, it says it would be after them.
31:10 Three, it says it would be different.
31:25 We're going to look at those eight points rather quickly.
31:28 But they're important that you understand what they are.
31:35 Okay, Daniel 7 verse 8.
31:44 Now where is that little horn coming up?
31:49 It's coming up among them, among the ten.
31:52 Folks, those Germanic tribes; Anglo-Saxons, the Franks,
31:57 and all those, those are the countries of Western Europe.
32:01 So you and I don't need to go looking over in Africa
32:04 for the little horn.
32:06 Or we don't need to go looking to India.
32:08 But it says it would come up among those ten horns.
32:13 So it tells us where it's going to come up.
32:15 So it has located the place for us.
32:18 Two, "Another shall rise after them."
32:25 History says here...
32:37 Okay be real clear that Vigilus, who was the Bishop of Rome,
32:43 ascended to the papal chair when?
32:46 538 AD. Important date.
32:51 Okay, this is what history says about it.
32:58 These ten Germanic tribes that came down on pagan Rome
33:04 were strictly political powers.
33:07 They were just pagan powers.
33:09 They didn't have anything else.
33:12 But now, all of a sudden, there is a power
33:15 that is rising that's different.
33:18 It's not like the others.
33:21 There has been a change taking place.
33:24 And this is what we're told in history took place.
33:28 It says...
34:11 So what it says now is the Bishop of Rome
34:16 has taken the seat of Caesar.
34:19 History says that the Bishop of Rome stepped
34:23 to the seat of Caesar and grasped the scepter in 538 AD.
34:30 Now there's a real difference here, folks, that takes place.
34:34 All these others were civil powers.
34:38 A church...
34:40 A church has no power.
34:44 A church has no power to enforce its beliefs.
34:52 Do you understand what I'm saying?
34:53 A church has no power.
34:55 It can preach it.
34:57 It can do all that kind of thing, but it cannot force it.
35:01 The only way it can force it is by accepting civil power.
35:08 And that's what it says happened here
35:10 when papal Rome accepted civil power.
35:18 And that's how that particular horn was different
35:22 from all the rest.
35:24 "He shall subdue three kings."
35:28 Of these Germanic tribes that came down on the Roman Empire,
35:32 three of them; the Ostrogoths, the Heruli, and the Vandals,
35:38 accept the belief called Arianism.
35:42 And they believed that Jesus Christ was a good man,
35:48 but they did not believe that He was divine.
35:51 And Justinian, who was the Emperor, had committed himself
35:57 to defend the church.
36:01 And so under Justinian and the papal power,
36:05 they went in and wiped out the Heruli, the Vandals,
36:10 and the Ostrogoths.
36:13 Now, it says it would uproot them.
36:17 That means, pull them out by the roots.
36:19 There will be nothing left.
36:21 That's what that means.
36:23 And you can find descendents for all these others.
36:25 The Alamanni are the Germans, the Franks are the French,
36:28 and so forth.
36:29 But there are no descendents to the Ostrogoths,
36:32 the Heruli, and the Vandals.
36:35 They pulled them up, literally, by the roots.
36:44 He's going to go a step farther and he's going to speak words
36:48 against God.
36:49 That's what it's saying, "pompous words against
36:54 the Most High."
36:58 The Fifth Lateran Council, this is what it says.
37:20 In other words, they're taking the place of God.
37:27 It says, "Thou art another God on earth."
37:29 This is not just one statement. There's lots of them.
37:43 Crowned as the king of heaven,
37:48 of earth, and underneath the earth.
37:51 One more.
37:54 Encyclical Letter of Pope Leo XIII.
38:04 Now folks, what we're doing is we're just looking at
38:07 the points the Scripture gives to identify the antichrist.
38:11 And I hope you understand, that word, "antichrist,"
38:16 does not mean, "against."
38:19 Because we, many times, take the word "anti"
38:22 to mean "against."
38:24 That's not what it means.
38:25 It means, in place of.
38:28 That's where the antichrist in that particular point
38:31 means, in place of.
38:33 Just exactly what's being said here;
38:35 placing themselves in the place of God.
38:46 This power would persecute God's people.
38:54 Much, much has been written about this
38:58 down through the years
39:02 showing that great persecution has taken place
39:05 against God's people.
39:08 Here's a historical statement that says...
39:12 I don't know how many of you have ever read about John Huss.
39:14 A great preacher, a great man of God.
39:26 Burned him at the stake because of his preaching
39:31 of righteousness by faith.
39:53 Persecution.
39:55 Historians tell us that they have slain millions
39:59 upon millions of people.
40:02 In fact, so much was done, so many people lost their lives,
40:07 and such cruelty against those that followed the Lord,
40:11 and particularly in the time of the Reformation,
40:14 that Pope John Paul, on May 24th, 1995,
40:21 made a public apology to the world for what they had done.
40:28 Just as the Scripture says they would wear out the saints
40:33 of the Most High.
40:34 And they have literally done that.
40:36 So what I'm trying to get across to you this evening
40:39 is history bears out, as well as the Scripture,
40:42 that this particular little horn meets all of the qualifications
40:47 of that of the antichrist.
40:49 It meets those.
40:52 Okay, Daniel 7:25.
41:02 I want to make a distinction between "times" and "laws".
41:09 You see, God is the only one who has the prerogative,
41:15 who has the power to change times.
41:21 God is the only one that can do that.
41:25 No one else.
41:26 That is part of His divinity.
41:30 Part of Him being God is the power to change times.
41:35 When the Pope comes in and says that he has the right
41:44 to set up kings and to take them down,
41:48 he is usurping that right of time.
41:54 God is the only one that sets them up, the Scripture says.
41:56 It says that God is the one that sets up kings
41:59 and takes them down.
42:00 Not the Pope.
42:03 So that right does not belong to him at all.
42:10 It also says not only would he do that,
42:13 but he would change the law.
42:16 "Intend to change the times and laws."
42:18 Listen to this statement.
42:33 He has the power to do this.
42:36 Just as the Scripture said, he would think to change times.
42:40 And he has done that.
42:42 But it also says, he would make an effort to change law.
42:47 The greatest law that has ever been given to mankind
42:54 is that of the moral law, the Ten Commandments.
42:58 Any nation who has upheld those ten principles
43:05 and taught them to their people has been a great nation.
43:10 God help us when we turn our back on them.
43:14 But the power...
43:15 And there's a difference here, folks.
43:17 If you pick up an American Catholic Revised Version
43:23 of the Bible, or you pick up a Douay version of the Bible,
43:27 it will read, when it comes to Exodus 20 where the
43:30 Ten Commandments are, it will read almost word for word
43:34 what your Bible says.
43:37 Very little difference.
43:40 When you pick up a Catechism, that changes.
43:46 They have done away with the second commandment.
43:51 "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images,"
43:53 or carved images.
43:55 They've taken that out of the Bible.
43:58 Or out of the Catechism.
44:02 They not only did that, but they took the fourth commandment
44:07 and moved it up so that it now became the third commandment.
44:12 And they shortened it from 94 words to 8 words.
44:19 They changed it completely.
44:23 Made a change there.
44:25 And then because now they where one commandment short,
44:29 they only had nine, they went and they took the
44:32 tenth commandment and divided it into two
44:36 to give them ten commandments.
44:39 And thus, they have changed the law of God.
44:43 They've changed times as God said they would.
44:49 Not only have they done this, but it says...
45:01 Going to be given into the hand of who, now?
45:03 Get this clear.
45:05 The saints shall be given into his hand.
45:09 Who is, "his hand?"
45:12 It's talking about the little horn.
45:14 "...given into his hand." The antichrist.
45:16 "...shall be given into his hand for a time, times,
45:20 and a half of time."
45:25 Well in the Bible, the word, "time," is a Hebrew word
45:33 that means one year.
45:34 That's what it means, one year.
45:37 And in the biblical reckoning of time, there are 360 days
45:42 in a biblical year.
45:43 And if you want to go to Genesis the 11th chapter,
45:47 right there, it will make it very clear that there are
45:52 360 days in a biblical year.
45:56 So if I've got "time," that means I have one year.
46:01 If I have "times," I've got two years.
46:04 Which now is 720 days.
46:08 And if I have a half a year, that's a half of 360,
46:13 which is 180.
46:15 If I add those together, it gives me 1260.
46:20 So it says, it would be given into his hand for 1260.
46:27 That's what it says.
46:29 Well we find that in the Bible, one day represents a year.
46:34 Ezekiel 4:6 says, "I have laid on you a day for each year."
46:41 Also Numbers 14:34, it tell you, "I have given you
46:45 a day for a year."
46:47 So if I have a day for a year, and I've got 1260 days,
46:52 that gives me how much?
46:55 1260 years.
46:57 Now folks, if this book is true, which I believe it is
47:03 with all my heart, then when God says it's going to be
47:08 given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time,
47:13 then it has to work out.
47:17 I mean, God doesn't make those statements and it not work.
47:22 Well, let's see what happened.
47:23 What did I tell you?
47:25 When did the papal power come into rule?
47:31 Yeah, 538 AD.
47:35 Vigilus, under the military of protection of Belisarius,
47:43 stepped to the throne in 538 AD.
47:49 If I add 1260 years to 538 AD, that takes me to where?
47:58 1798 AD.
48:02 So it's saying that it would be given into his hand
48:06 for 1260 years.
48:09 Then something had to happen, something had to take place
48:15 in 1798.
48:18 And history tells us this is what happened,
48:21 this is what took place.
48:24 Napoleon Bonaparte is ruling.
48:30 Napoleon wants to rule all of Europe.
48:36 In fact, Napoleon said Europe was soon to become one nation.
48:43 That was his wish, that was his desire.
48:46 That's what he wanted to do.
48:48 But Napoleon realized that he could not do that.
48:53 Could not accomplish it unless he broke the back
48:56 of the papal power.
48:59 Because the papal power held tremendous control
49:03 and sway in all of Europe.
49:05 They owned papal states, many papal states,
49:10 that were as large as some of our states
49:13 here in the United States.
49:14 They owned them.
49:15 And therefore, Napoleon realized he had to do something.
49:19 So in 1798, Napoleon sent his general, Berthier, into Italy.
49:28 He made his entrance into Rome, abolished the papal government,
49:33 and established a secular one.
49:35 Exactly as the Scripture said, at the end of 1260 years,
49:39 there the papal power came to its close.
49:46 Just as the Scripture said.
49:47 Now folks, what you've got to understand here
49:50 is this isn't the end.
49:52 This is the end right here, but the Bible picks it up
49:56 and continues on talking about the antichrist
50:00 and carries it clear down to the coming of Christ.
50:04 So what you and I have to understand is
50:06 what's involved here.
50:07 But he established a secular government in place of it.
50:11 I want you to see, far as I'm concerned,
50:14 Daniel the 7th chapter is one of the clearest chapters
50:17 there is in the Bible that tells you exactly what is
50:21 to happen and take place.
50:24 Watch this carefully.
50:28 If you look at Daniel the 7th chapter,
50:32 it talks about three things.
50:33 It talks about the little horn, it talks about judgment
50:37 beginning, and it talks about the coming of Jesus Christ.
50:43 Watch how Daniel puts all that together, folks.
50:47 Daniel 7 verse 8...
50:53 So he's talking specifically about the little horn.
50:56 Now as we move to verse 9, watch what he says.
51:06 So all of a sudden Daniel is saying, here the little horn is.
51:12 We find the little horn goes down in 1798.
51:18 And then it says what was to happen?
51:21 He says the judgment was seated.
51:24 The judgment started.
51:25 The Ancient of Days was seated.
51:28 That's what it says happened.
51:29 If you took a line and drew it right from where the
51:35 end of the little horn is straight down,
51:38 and took everything on that side of it, the Scripture classifies
51:43 that period of time as the time of the end.
51:50 That's where you and I are living;
51:53 in the time of the end.
51:56 The little horn came to an end when?
52:00 1798 AD.
52:01 And Scripture is saying clearly, after 1798
52:05 the judgment would begin.
52:08 That's what it's saying.
52:10 And then Daniel 7:14, and it says...
52:21 So it says, after the judgment what's going to happen?
52:26 Come on, are you afraid to say?
52:29 It says, after the judgment what's going to happen?
52:33 God is going to set up His kingdom.
52:36 That's what it's saying.
52:37 "Then to Him..."
52:39 That word, "Him," there is capitalized.
52:41 "To Him was given dominion, glory, and a kingdom."
52:44 Let's go on down to verse 21.
52:48 Watch Daniel do the same thing again.
52:55 This is the little horn.
52:57 It's making war with the saints.
53:00 It came to its end in 1798.
53:04 Watch what happens, verse 22.
53:06 This is verse 21, now we're going to verse 22.
53:15 So it's saying, as soon as the papal power went down,
53:19 the judgment was going to start.
53:24 And then it says, after the judgment, verse 22...
53:33 What's in front of you, folks?
53:36 The kingdom.
53:38 That's what it's saying.
53:40 After that is the kingdom.
53:42 Now let's go on, one more.
53:47 Daniel 7:24...
53:52 That's the little horn.
53:56 And we found out the little horn rose after them
53:59 who was definitely different than the first.
54:02 Okay, in 1798 it came to an end.
54:07 And then something was to happen.
54:09 Listen to verse 26.
54:19 When we his dominion taken away?
54:22 1798 AD.
54:23 And then the court shall be seated.
54:26 The judgment begins, that's what it's telling you.
54:28 So what I'm trying to get across to you tonight
54:31 is understanding the order of events.
54:34 Because there's going to be that of the antichrist,
54:37 then you're going to have the time that the Scripture
54:39 refers to as the time of the end, in which you and I
54:43 are living in tonight.
54:45 That's where we are.
54:46 And during that time, the judgment is going to take place.
54:50 And after that's over, Jesus is going to come.
54:54 Verse 27...
55:03 So God is going to come and set up His kingdom.
55:06 That's where we are.
55:07 So this is the order I want you to see, because
55:11 Scripture repeats this over and over.
55:13 And if you keep this order clear in your mind,
55:16 you will not be led astray.
55:20 Okay, one, you have the kingdom of Babylon.
55:25 After Babylon, you have Medo-Persia.
55:29 After Medo-Persia, you have Greece.
55:33 After pagan Rome, you have papal Rome.
55:39 After papal Rome went down, you have the judgment.
55:44 And after the judgment is over, Jesus is coming back.
55:50 That's the order of events that the Scripture gives.
55:54 And you and I must be among this special group of people.
56:17 So I hope tonight that you will be among the wise
56:23 and understand.
56:25 Because our next presentation, we're going to take a look
56:29 at the beast in Revelation 13.
56:39 The beast of Revelation 13 because it picks up,
56:44 it picks up where we left off tonight.
56:48 And it tells you things that are going to happen.
56:50 And you and I need to understand that, because it tells us about
56:54 the work of the antichrist right down here at the end of time.
56:58 So we hope you'll follow each evening as we take a look
57:02 at God's Word and what it says about the antichrist.
57:05 Let's pray.
57:08 Father in heaven, we thank You.
57:13 Thank You for Your Word.
57:16 Thank You that we can understand where we are
57:21 in the stream of time, understand what's taking place.
57:26 Give us wisdom, give us understanding,
57:29 that we may be among the wise.
57:32 Amen.
