00:15 Well hello everybody.
00:17 Welcome again to Anchor Bible school.
00:19 We're glad you're here.
00:20 Have you been having a good time?
00:22 Praise the Lord.
00:23 It's wonderful to study the Word, isn't it.
00:25 In fact, it's better than eating physical food.
00:29 Because it's food that does not perish.
00:32 Now we are going to study today the importance of
00:36 literary structure in the study of the millennium.
00:41 This is just an example of the importance of seeing the
00:44 sequence of events in the book of Revelation.
00:47 And I would say Daniel also needs to be examined
00:50 very carefully in the light of its structure.
00:54 So let's go to our material that was given out.
00:57 And the first thing that we want to do is ask several questions
01:02 about the millennial passage in Revelation chapter 20.
01:07 We have studied that it is important when we're
01:09 studying a passage of Scripture, particularly prophecy,
01:13 to ask the passage questions.
01:16 So let's ask a few questions about the millennial passage.
01:19 First of all, why does the lake of fire appear three times
01:25 in Revelation 20 verse 1 through 21 verse 8?
01:29 Are there three lakes of fire?
01:32 Or is it perhaps true that Revelation 20 verse 1
01:35 through 21 verse 8 runs in cycles, repetitive cycles?
01:41 We're going to take a look at that.
01:43 The next question, why does the city appear to be on earth
01:47 in one passage when the wicked surround it,
01:51 and in another passage the wicked seem to be destroyed
01:55 before the city descends?
01:58 Another question, in Revelation 20 verse 12
02:02 we are told that the dead stand before God.
02:06 The question is, how can dead people
02:08 stand in the presence of God?
02:11 And the final question we want to ask,
02:13 and as we go along we're going to ask more questions,
02:15 by the way, why do we get the impression
02:18 from Revelation 20 verse 5 that the wicked will
02:22 resurrect in the first resurrection?
02:24 You know, when you read that verse, it gives the impression
02:27 that the wicked are going to resurrect
02:29 in the first resurrection.
02:30 But there's another previous verse that says that the
02:33 righteous will resurrect in the first resurrection.
02:36 So how do we resolve that particular problem?
02:40 Well first of all, let's make some introductory remarks.
02:44 And we will do it by asking another series of questions.
02:49 Will the millennium be spent in heaven
02:51 or will it be spent on earth?
02:54 What will be the condition of the earth during the millennium?
02:59 What will God's people be doing during the millennial period?
03:05 Why is there a white throne judgment after the millennium?
03:09 What does Revelation mean when it speaks about
03:13 the second death?
03:15 What is meant by the binding and unbinding of Satan?
03:19 And finally, is it even important to know
03:23 what will happen during this time?
03:26 Those are the main questions that we are going to try
03:29 and answer as we study about the millennium.
03:33 Now in the handout that you've received, there's some blanks
03:37 that you have to fill in.
03:38 And so this is done kind of like in question and answer form.
03:43 So you're going to help me this morning in our study.
03:48 Now Revelation 19 verses 11 to 21
03:53 describes the second coming of Jesus.
03:55 You've read that passage, right?
03:57 Jesus is sitting on a white horse,
03:59 the armies of heaven are coming with Jesus.
04:01 He comes to trample the winepress, you know,
04:04 and to destroy the dragon, the beast,
04:07 and also the kings of the earth.
04:10 So it's describing the second coming.
04:12 Now, by this time the plagues will have decimated
04:16 the population of the planet.
04:19 In other words, the plagues will destroy most of the
04:21 inhabitants of the earth.
04:23 So the question is, what happens at the very culmination
04:29 of the second coming of Jesus?
04:31 And we have the answer in Revelation 19 verse 21.
04:34 It says, "And the rest..."
04:36 That is, those who survive the plagues.
04:39 The rest were what?
04:40 "...were killed with the sword which proceeded from
04:44 the mouth of Him who sat on the throne."
04:47 So the question is, how many of the wicked
04:50 will be destroyed by the plagues and by the
04:53 second coming of Christ?
04:55 Every single one.
04:57 When Jesus comes on the clouds, the rest will be slain.
05:01 Many will be slain by the seven last plagues.
05:05 Now, let's read the note.
05:08 The millennium is described in Revelation 20 verse 1
05:12 through Revelation 21 and verse 8.
05:14 That's the millennial passage.
05:17 And actually, we're going to notice that chapter 21
05:22 and verses 2 through 8 really should be included
05:25 with the millennial passage even though it's in chapter 21
05:28 and not in chapter 20.
05:30 Now the events in these chapters are not in strict
05:34 chronological order, but they run in cycles.
05:39 In other words, we know this because the identical climax
05:43 is reached four times.
05:45 Though the events are repeated four times,
05:48 each repetition has a different center of focus or emphasis.
05:55 Are you understanding this point?
05:57 In other words, Revelation 20 verse 1 through 21 verse 8
06:02 repeats the same material four times.
06:06 You can't read it in linear fashion.
06:09 You can't say, "Okay, I want to know what happens
06:11 before, during, and after the millennium.
06:13 So I'm going to start in Revelation 20 verse 1,
06:15 and it's going to give me the strict chronological sequence
06:18 through chapter 21 and verse 8."
06:19 It won't work because it goes back and forth.
06:23 You have four repetitive cycles.
06:25 Kind of like Daniel 2, Daniel 7, Daniel 8 and 9,
06:29 and Daniel 10 through 12.
06:31 In other words, you repeat the same material four times,
06:34 but each time it has a different emphasis.
06:37 Now the question is, what are the four repetitive cycles?
06:42 You have them summarized at the bottom of page 1.
06:45 Revelation 20 verses 1 through 3 describes the events
06:50 before, during, and after the millennium.
06:53 And the center of focus is Satan and the condition of the earth.
06:59 That is the central focus of those verses,
07:02 chapter 20 and verses 1 to 3.
07:04 The emphasis, once again, is Satan and what
07:07 the condition of the earth will be.
07:10 The second cycle in Revelation chapter 20
07:15 is found in verses 4 through 10.
07:19 And the central focus in Revelation 20 verse 4 through 10
07:23 is upon the saints, upon God's people.
07:27 What happens with God's people before, during,
07:30 and after the millennium.
07:32 So you have the first cycle.
07:34 The emphasis is upon Satan and the condition of the earth.
07:37 The second cycle is upon what happens with God's people
07:43 before, during, and after the millennium.
07:46 The third cycle is found in Revelation 20 verse 11
07:50 through chapter 21 and verse 1.
07:54 And the center of focus there is upon the wicked.
07:59 In other words, the central focus is what happens
08:01 with the wicked before, during, and after the millennium.
08:05 And then finally, the fourth cycle in the millennium passage
08:10 is found in Revelation 21 and verses 2 through 8
08:16 where the central focus is what life will be like
08:20 in the holy city and what will happen to the wicked finally.
08:25 So there are four centers of focus
08:28 in this millennial passage.
08:29 And unless you understand the structure,
08:33 you're going to misplace events.
08:36 And so the first cycle, the emphasis is Satan and the earth.
08:40 The second center is the saints.
08:43 The third center of focus is the wicked.
08:45 And the last center of focus is upon the holy city.
08:50 So let's go to our first cycle on page 2 and notice
08:55 how Revelation 20:1-3 emphasizes the condition of the earth,
09:01 and what will happen with Satan specifically.
09:05 We have several blank spaces, so you're going to help me
09:08 answer this.
09:09 The angel who comes down from heaven has the key
09:12 to the bottomless pit.
09:16 Now this is not the best translation, "bottomless pit."
09:20 It actually translates one Greek word,
09:23 it's the Greek word, "abussos."
09:26 And the word that we get in English from, "abussos,"
09:29 is, the abyss.
09:31 It's translated in Genesis, the equivalent Hebrew word
09:35 in Genesis is translated, the deep.
09:39 So in other words, it says here that an angel comes down
09:43 from heaven and he has the key to the bottomless bit.
09:47 Now what is meant by this expression, "bottomless pit,"
09:50 or by the abyss, or by the deep?
09:54 Well, we have to go back to Genesis.
09:57 In Genesis 1 and verse 2, we are told that the earth
10:01 was in what condition before God began creation week?
10:06 "The earth was without form, and void;
10:11 and darkness was on the face of the deep."
10:16 So the earth was without form and void,
10:19 and there was darkness over the face of the deep.
10:23 Now let's read the note, because the note
10:25 is very significant.
10:27 The word, "deep," in the Greek Old Testament...
10:31 Which is called the Septuagint.
10:33 You've heard of the Septuagint, right?
10:36 It's a Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament.
10:39 The word, "deep," in the Greek Old Testament
10:41 is the same as the one that is found in Revelation 20 verse 1.
10:46 Is that significant?
10:48 So in other words, in Genesis 1 verse 2,
10:51 it's the word, "abussos."
10:54 So what does the word, "abussos," describe?
10:57 It describes the earth being empty and in disorder, right?
11:03 As it says, "without form and void."
11:07 Now what does, "without form and void," mean?
11:10 I like the Spanish translation better.
11:12 It says, "Desordenada y vacía."
11:16 Disorderly and empty.
11:18 Void means empty.
11:19 And so the earth was empty and it was in disorder.
11:25 So what condition will the earth be in when this angel
11:29 descends from heaven?
11:31 It will be just like it was in Genesis before creation week.
11:35 Now let's continue reading this note.
11:37 This word describes a planet in a chaotic pre-creative state.
11:43 It is noteworthy that the plagues of Revelation 16
11:48 actually reverse creation and return the earth,
11:52 in some degree, to pre-creation chaos.
11:56 The very things which God made during creation
12:00 are afflicted by the plagues.
12:02 The earth is broken up,
12:04 the sun, moon, and stars are moved out of their places,
12:07 all the vegetation is destroyed by the intense heat of the sun,
12:11 the seas are filled with blood, all the fish die,
12:14 and the planet returns to darkness
12:16 and all human beings die.
12:17 Does that sound like a reversal of creation?
12:20 Absolutely.
12:21 The plagues reverse creation.
12:23 So my question is, how can futurists say that this earth
12:28 is going to be a place where God's people are going to live
12:31 with Jesus sitting in Jerusalem for a thousand years.
12:35 Be real.
12:36 There's no way they could survive.
12:38 Because the plagues return the earth to the condition it was in
12:43 before creation; without form and void,
12:47 disorderly and empty.
12:49 That will be the condition of the earth.
12:50 And so when the angel descends there to the bottomless pit,
12:54 or to the abyss, or to the deep, he's returning to an earth
12:58 that is without form and void, like it
13:01 was before creation week.
13:04 So now we know what the condition of the earth
13:05 is going to be like just by reading the word, "abyss,"
13:08 and comparing with Genesis 1 verse 2.
13:12 Now let's go to our next section.
13:14 The prophet Jeremiah was permitted to see the earth
13:18 during the millennium.
13:20 He heard the sound of the what?
13:23 Of the trumpet.
13:25 Is there something in the New Testament
13:27 about a trumpet announcing an important event?
13:31 When Jesus returns, He returns with the sound of the what?
13:36 Of the trumpet.
13:37 And notice, the alarm of what?
13:40 War.
13:41 Is there any passage in Revelation that speaks about
13:43 the coming of Jesus being a war?
13:46 In righteousness He makes war,
13:49 it says in Revelation chapter 19.
13:51 So what event is being described here?
13:53 The second coming of Christ.
13:55 And then we continue.
13:57 He then beheld the earth.
13:59 After the trumpet and the war, he beheld the earth.
14:02 And indeed, it was what?
14:05 Without form and void.
14:06 Is the earth going to return to the same condition
14:10 it was in before creation when the trumpet sounds
14:12 and when this final war takes place?
14:14 Absolutely.
14:16 And notice; and the heavens, and they had no what?
14:19 Light. Was there any light at the beginning before creation?
14:22 No.
14:24 He also saw that the mountains what?
14:26 Quaked.
14:28 Jeremiah beheld, and indeed, there were lots of men.
14:32 There was no man. Why?
14:34 Because they're all destroyed by the brightness of His coming.
14:37 And it says, and all the birds of the heavens had fled.
14:41 There's no birds.
14:42 The fruitful land had become a what?
14:45 A wilderness.
14:47 And all of the cities were broken down
14:50 at the presence of the Lord by His fierce anger.
14:54 Are you catching a picture of what this world is going to
14:56 be like as a result of the plagues and the coming of Jesus?
15:00 It is going to return to the condition it was in
15:04 before creation week?
15:06 Whether the earth was here for millions of years
15:08 without any life on it, or whether Jesus
15:11 made the earth and then immediately began creation week,
15:14 you know, that's not the point that we want to cover right now.
15:17 And as far as I'm concerned, it's irrelevant.
15:20 Because the important thing is, how long ago
15:22 did creation week take place?
15:25 That's the key.
15:26 How long ago did creation week take place?
15:29 And we know that it was about six thousand years ago
15:32 that the week of creation took place.
15:35 So the earth will return to the condition it was in
15:39 before creation week.
15:42 Now let's read the note.
15:44 In spite of the incredible desolation caused by the
15:47 wrath of God, we are told that at this time
15:51 God would not make a full end.
15:54 Why does it say that God would not make a full end?
15:58 Is this the end when the world returns to the condition
16:01 it was in before creation?
16:03 Is this the end of all things?
16:04 Is this the last word?
16:05 No, there are events that are going to take place
16:08 after the thousand years, right?
16:11 So very interesting that Jeremiah would say
16:14 there in chapter 4 and verse 27 that even though the earth
16:18 is without form and void, this is not the full end.
16:22 Now let's go to our next section.
16:23 In Jeremiah 25:30-38, we have a powerful description
16:29 of the coming of Jesus.
16:31 We are told that the Lord will roar from on high
16:36 and utter His voice from His holy habitation.
16:41 And by the way, He does utter His voice
16:44 in Revelation 16 verse 17 at the moment of the seventh plague.
16:48 And in other places in Revelation as well.
16:50 So we are told that He will roar from on high
16:52 and utter His voice from His holy habitation.
16:55 He will give a what?
16:57 A shout.
16:59 Can you think of another passage that speaks about a shout?
17:03 "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven
17:06 with a shout, with the voice of the archangel..."
17:10 And the what? "...and the trumpet of God."
17:12 See, Jeremiah and Isaiah saw this day.
17:15 Now let's continue here.
17:18 He will give a shout as those who tread the what?
17:22 The grapes.
17:23 Do we find anywhere in the New Testament that speaks about
17:26 Jesus coming to tread the grapes?
17:28 Revelation 19.
17:30 When He comes on the white horse and the armies of heaven come.
17:33 It says He comes to tread the winepress.
17:36 And the winepress is where the grapes are.
17:39 So this is the second coming of Jesus Christ.
17:42 Now what's going to happen on that day?
17:44 Notice, on that day, the what?
17:46 The slain of the Lord will be from one end of the earth
17:51 even to the other.
17:52 They shall be buried...
17:56 Very good, very good. You're still with me.
17:58 They shall not be buried or gathered or lamented.
18:05 Why will they not be lamented?
18:08 Because there is no one to lament them.
18:10 Hello.
18:12 Because they're all dead.
18:14 All of the wicked are destroyed when Jesus comes,
18:17 in other words.
18:19 Now Isaiah also saw this.
18:22 Notice what we find in Isaiah 24 and some verses of 1 through 6.
18:29 It says, Isaiah adds that when Jesus comes,
18:32 He will make the earth what?
18:35 Empty, and make it waste.
18:37 Does that sound like without form and void?
18:40 Absolutely.
18:42 The land will be utterly emptied and utterly plundered.
18:48 The inhabitants of the earth are burned and few men are left.
18:54 Now didn't we just read that all men are destroyed?
18:56 So how can it say a few men are left?
18:59 Well the fact is, the left ones are the righteous that survive.
19:05 It's the only way that you can really interpret this verse,
19:07 because we know there will be no one alive
19:10 after the second coming of Christ on planet earth.
19:13 So this must be the remnant.
19:15 And the word, "left," I repeat once again,
19:17 is a remnant word.
19:20 So when it says that one will be taken
19:22 and the other one will be left, if we allow the Bible to
19:25 interpret itself, the one who is left is the
19:28 one who is left alive.
19:29 It's the remnant that remains when Jesus comes.
19:33 Now let's continue.
19:36 The powerful angel from heaven binds Satan
19:40 and casts him into the abyss.
19:43 What is the abyss again?
19:46 The earth without form and void, folks.
19:49 He casts him into the abyss for 1000 years.
19:53 The result of His binding is that he can deceive the nations
19:58 no more until the thousand years are what?
20:01 Until the thousand years are ended.
20:03 So at the beginning of the thousand years,
20:06 what happens with Satan?
20:07 He is bound.
20:08 At the end of the thousand years, what happens with Satan?
20:12 He is able to deceive again.
20:14 He is unbound.
20:17 Now let's read the note.
20:18 Satan is bound to an earth which has returned
20:22 to pre-creation chaos.
20:25 How could human beings live on planet earth
20:28 when the seas and the fresh waters are all blood,
20:31 the air has the stench of the dead,
20:33 the planet is in total darkness,
20:35 and there is no plant or animal life.
20:38 The binding of Satan means that he cannot deceive the nations,
20:42 because there are no nations left to deceive.
20:46 That is the binding of Satan.
20:49 He cannot deceive the nations.
20:50 If there are no nations, how is he going to deceive the nations?
20:54 In other words, his binding has to do with the fact
20:57 that the wicked are dead.
20:59 So what would his unbinding be?
21:02 That the wicked live again.
21:04 And we're going to see that Revelation 20 says that.
21:07 Now, but after the millennium, Satan will be loosed
21:11 for a little while.
21:13 The punishment of Satan reminds us of the fate of the scapegoat
21:17 on the Day of Atonement.
21:19 He was bound by the high priest and then taken to the wilderness
21:23 where there were no inhabitants.
21:27 Are you catching the connection between Revelation 20
21:30 and Leviticus 16?
21:32 Very clear.
21:33 You see, the devil's punishment has two stages.
21:35 The first stage of the punishment...
21:37 We studied Isaiah 24, remember?
21:39 The first stage is that they are bound, imprisoned.
21:44 The second stage is after the thousand years
21:47 when they are destroyed.
21:48 So what is the emphasis of verses 1 through 3?
21:51 What is the central focus?
21:54 The earth and Satan.
21:56 Right?
21:58 Now, we are left with some questions after
22:01 this first outline, this first cycle, in verses 1 to 3.
22:05 These are the questions that I found and I wanted to answer
22:09 after reading this first cycle.
22:12 What happened with the righteous during this period?
22:15 Do we have anything in this outline about what happened
22:18 to the righteous?
22:19 No.
22:21 Were they on earth or in heaven?
22:23 Anything that tells us where they were?
22:26 No.
22:27 What did the righteous do during the thousand years?
22:30 Anything on that?
22:32 No.
22:33 What do, "bind," and, "unbind," mean?
22:37 Not directly it doesn't say.
22:39 We need more information.
22:42 What happened to the wicked persons who were destroyed
22:45 at the second coming?
22:48 What did Satan deceive the nations to do
22:51 after the thousand years?
22:53 It says he went out to deceive the nations,
22:54 but deceive them to do what?
22:57 It doesn't say.
22:58 What happened to Satan after he was released for a little while?
23:02 He was released and he was released forever?
23:06 How long was he released?
23:08 We don't have that information.
23:09 So are we left with questions after the first outline?
23:13 All we know is a lot about what is going to happen with the
23:16 devil at the beginning, during, and after the millennium.
23:18 And we know what the condition of the earth is when Jesus
23:21 comes, and during the millennium.
23:23 But we're left with a series of questions.
23:27 And so now we have a second cycle.
23:29 Revelation chapter 20 and verses 4 through 10.
23:33 The same millennial events are going to be repeated again.
23:38 We're going to start at the beginning
23:39 of the millennium again.
23:41 We're going to talk about the millennium again.
23:43 And we're going to talk about events at the
23:45 end of the millennium again.
23:47 But the center of focus now is not primarily on Satan
23:51 and the condition of the earth.
23:52 The focus now is upon what happens with the saints
23:55 at the beginning, during, and at the end of the millennium.
23:58 Are you following me?
24:00 Now, let's pursue this.
24:03 When Revelation 20:1-3 ends, we are left with several questions.
24:09 What happened to the righteous as the millennium began?
24:12 What do the words, "bind," and, "unbind," mean?
24:14 What happened to the wicked persons who were destroyed
24:16 at the second coming?
24:17 Do they remain destroyed forever?
24:19 What did Satan deceive the nations to do
24:21 after the thousand years?
24:23 What happened to Satan after he was released for a little while?
24:26 These questions will be answered in this second cycle.
24:32 Now let's answer the questions.
24:35 At the beginning of the thousand years,
24:38 the righteous dead are what?
24:40 Raised to life.
24:43 We know this because Revelation 20 verse 4
24:45 says that they what?
24:47 That they lived.
24:49 And were they dead?
24:51 Of course.
24:52 Because John says, "I saw those that had been beheaded
24:57 because they didn't worship the beast and his image."
24:59 I would assume that if they were beheaded, they died.
25:05 And so it says that those who had been beheaded lived.
25:09 So it must be that they what?
25:11 That they resurrect.
25:13 And so Revelation 20 verse 4 says that they lived.
25:17 And what did they do?
25:19 They reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
25:23 On earth, right?
25:26 Be real.
25:28 How could they enjoy living on earth for a thousand years
25:33 the way the earth is?
25:36 This resurrection is called the what?
25:40 The first resurrection.
25:42 And the righteous and holy are resurrected
25:45 in the first resurrection.
25:47 It says in verse 6 that righteous and holy people
25:50 will resurrect in the first resurrection.
25:53 Now, the apostle Paul explained that the dead in Christ
25:58 would rise what?
26:00 Interesting, the dead in Christ would rise first.
26:05 That's the first resurrection, right?
26:07 Then those who are alive and remain will be what?
26:11 Caught up.
26:15 Does that give us an inkling of where the righteous
26:18 are going to be?
26:20 See, Jesus doesn't come down.
26:23 The righteous go up.
26:26 And you have other text in Scripture that indicate this.
26:29 For example, Matthew chapter 24.
26:31 It says, "He shall send His angels, and they shall
26:33 gather His elect from the four winds."
26:36 See, Jesus doesn't come to be here with the elect.
26:39 The elect are gathered by the angels to be taken to Jesus
26:42 in the clouds.
26:43 And what are the clouds? Angels.
26:46 So Matthew 24:30-31 is connected with this.
26:51 The apostle Paul says in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2,
26:54 he speaks about our gathering to Jesus.
26:57 Jesus said, "I'm going to take you to my Father's house."
27:01 Clearly Scripture teaches that Jesus is not
27:05 coming to set up His kingdom here.
27:07 God's people are caught up to meet Jesus in the air.
27:11 So let's finish this here.
27:13 The apostle Paul explained that the dead in Christ
27:16 would rise first.
27:17 Then those who are alive and remain shall be caught up
27:20 together with them in the clouds.
27:22 What are the clouds?
27:24 The clouds are the angels.
27:26 To meet the Lord where?
27:28 In the air.
27:29 Jesus does not come all the way down to the earth.
27:33 Jesus promised to take His people to His Father's house.
27:39 The Father's house is where?
27:41 In heaven.
27:42 Because Jesus taught us to pray,
27:44 "Our Father, which art in heaven."
27:48 And by the way, God the Father is not going to come
27:52 at the second coming.
27:54 You know, there's this another one of those myths
27:58 that we develop, you know, that because it says that
28:00 Jesus is going to come in the glory of His Father.
28:04 But Jesus was on earth and His Father was in heaven,
28:06 and Jesus still had the glory of the Father.
28:10 So the expression, "in the glory of His Father,"
28:12 doesn't mean that the Father is coming.
28:13 It means that He has the glory of His Father.
28:16 The glory of the Father is in the face of Jesus
28:19 all the time.
28:21 Are you following me or not?
28:23 It says in Acts chapter 3 that He shall send forth Jesus.
28:28 He's going to send Jesus to get the people of God.
28:31 And then the people will ascend to heaven with Jesus,
28:34 and the Father and the cherubim and the seraphim
28:37 and the representatives of the worlds
28:39 will all be waiting to receive us, just like they were
28:41 waiting to receive Jesus at His ascension.
28:46 So Jesus promised to take His people to His Father's house.
28:49 The Father's house is in heaven, because Jesus taught us
28:52 to pray, "Our Father, which art in heaven."
28:54 A strict reading of Revelation 20 verse 4 through 10
28:59 does not reveal that the saints will be in heaven
29:01 during the thousand years.
29:05 However, we will see that Revelation 21 verse 2
29:09 points out this fact very clearly.
29:13 Because Revelation 21 verse 2 says that the New Jerusalem
29:16 descends from heaven and it is the camp of the saints.
29:20 So if it descends from heaven and it's the camp of the saints,
29:23 the saints must be in it.
29:26 Are you following me or not?
29:28 Now, the saints were given what?
29:32 Thrones.
29:34 And the reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
29:39 Before this, they were the scum of the earth.
29:43 The kings of the earth ruled over them and mistreated them
29:46 and trampled upon them.
29:48 But now they will be royalty.
29:51 They will reign with Jesus, they will sit on His throne.
29:53 Remember Jesus promised that whoever overcomes
29:56 will sit with Him on His throne?
29:59 And so this is the fulfillment.
30:01 The saints will sit, they will reign will Christ
30:04 for a thousand years.
30:06 Something else was done with the saints.
30:08 Something else they're going to do during the thousand years.
30:10 What is it?
30:11 Judgment was committed to them.
30:16 In other words, the saints are going to have
30:18 a working vacation.
30:22 The thousand years will be a celebration in heaven.
30:24 But it will be a working vacation because God
30:27 has a task for them to perform.
30:29 The task to perform is a work of judgment.
30:33 Now let's read the note.
30:35 The question is, who are the righteous going to judge?
30:39 It is obvious that they will not judge the righteous,
30:43 because they will all be in heaven.
30:46 And it cannot be the holy angels because they don't
30:48 need to be judged.
30:51 This must mean that they will judge Satan and his angels,
30:55 and the wicked which were left behind dead on earth.
30:59 That's the only group that they could judge.
31:02 Let me ask you, have all of the righteous been judged
31:04 before the second coming?
31:06 Yeah, in the pre-advent judgment.
31:08 All the righteous have been judged.
31:11 You don't have to judge the loyal angels.
31:12 They don't need any judgment.
31:13 They're loyal to God.
31:16 And the righteous, they're all in heaven.
31:19 They're performing the work of judgment.
31:20 They're not judging themselves.
31:23 So the only groups that are left are the devil and his angels,
31:26 and the wicked.
31:28 Now the apostle Paul had this straight.
31:32 The apostle Paul told the Corinthians...
31:35 Now listen carefully.
31:36 You know, you read Revelation 20 and it says that those who were
31:42 beheaded because they worshiped not the beast,
31:43 his image, nor received the mark, and so on,
31:46 they are going to be the ones that judge.
31:49 But they are not exclusively the only ones that will perform
31:52 this work of judgment.
31:54 It's just that Revelation is emphasizing that those
31:57 who lived in the end time and they were killed for their
32:00 faithfulness to God, they're going to judge.
32:03 In other words, they're going to judge those who judged them.
32:06 But the judgment is going to be performed
32:08 by all of God's people.
32:10 Not only by those who refuse to worship the beast and his image
32:13 and receive the mark.
32:15 You say, "How do we know that?"
32:16 Well, let's notice what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 6:1-3.
32:22 "Do you not know that the saints will judge the world?"
32:30 Who will judge the world?
32:32 The saints will judge the world.
32:33 What does the word, "world," mean?
32:37 "Love not the world, nor the things that are in the world."
32:42 "He that is a friend of the world is an enemy of God."
32:45 So the word, "world," is not referring to the
32:48 geographical territory.
32:49 It is referring to the wicked inhabitants of the world
32:52 whose focus is this world.
32:57 "Do you not know that the saints will judge the world?"
33:01 And then he says, "Do you not know..."
33:03 Now listen carefully.
33:04 "Do you not know that we shall judge angels?"
33:09 Are the Corinthians going to judge angels?
33:13 So are only those who were beheaded by the end time
33:18 enemies of God's people being the only ones
33:20 that are going to judge?
33:21 No, because the apostle Paul says we're going to.
33:24 So this judgment will be performed
33:26 by all of God's saints.
33:28 Not only by those who were beheaded because they were
33:31 faithful to the Lord in the end time.
33:33 Now the question is, who are the angels
33:35 that are going to be judged?
33:38 Just, just, just...
33:40 I mean, all you have to do is use common sense.
33:45 They can't be loyal angels.
33:48 They can't be faithful angels.
33:50 Because the faithful angels need no judgment.
33:53 So they must be what?
33:55 They must be Satan and his angels.
33:58 There's no other explanation.
34:00 So the saints are going to judge the world, the wicked,
34:04 and they are going to judge angels, the wicked angels.
34:10 Now, let's notice what it continues saying.
34:15 The righteous will not be subject to the second death.
34:22 So the righteous don't suffer second death.
34:25 Let's read the next line.
34:27 The rest of the dead will not come to life again
34:30 until the thousand years are ended.
34:33 Now the question is, who are the rest of the dead?
34:38 Who resurrects at the beginning of the millennium,
34:40 according to what we just noticed?
34:42 The righteous.
34:43 Righteous and holy is he who resurrects
34:46 at the beginning of the millennium;
34:47 reigns and judges.
34:49 So just use the grey matter that God gave you,
34:55 and say, "Who then would be those who will resurrect
35:01 after the thousand years, when the thousand years are ended?"
35:05 The wicked.
35:07 Of course.
35:08 It's not conjecture, it's simple reading of the text.
35:13 It is the wicked.
35:15 Now, let's notice the note.
35:16 This is very important.
35:18 All beings in this world experience a first birth
35:21 and a first life, correct?
35:25 When the millennium begins, those who died in Christ
35:28 will resurrect to their second life,
35:30 or to the second stage of life.
35:32 Right?
35:34 And they will not die anymore.
35:37 Correct?
35:38 The wicked, on the other hand, will resurrect to their
35:42 second life after the thousand years, will be judged,
35:46 and then they will suffer what?
35:49 They will suffer second death.
35:51 So you'll notice that the righteous, you know,
35:54 were born from their mothers, they lived.
35:57 If they died before Jesus came, they died their first death.
36:01 Then they resurrected and they live again,
36:03 and they don't die anymore.
36:05 The wicked, on the other hand, they were born
36:08 from their mothers.
36:09 They lived their life.
36:10 They died.
36:12 They resurrect.
36:13 And then they're going to die the second death.
36:15 So who is it that suffers the second death?
36:17 The wicked.
36:19 The righteous suffer only the first death.
36:22 And they go through the first resurrection.
36:24 Now, let's notice the next page.
36:28 There is a punctuation problem in Revelation 20 verse 5.
36:32 The original New Testament manuscripts did not
36:35 have punctuation marks.
36:37 So the translators placed them where they felt they belonged.
36:41 The New King James translators should have placed parentheses
36:44 around the following phrase:
36:47 "But the rest of the dead did not live again
36:49 until the thousand years were finished."
36:52 There should be parentheses there.
36:55 You say, "Well, aren't you adding to Scripture?"
36:57 No.
36:59 Because punctuation marks were not in Scripture.
37:02 Now, in effect, the New International Version
37:06 does this very thing.
37:09 The NIV does put the parentheses there.
37:12 The parenthetical statement breaks the flow of thought
37:16 in order to explain what will happen with the wicked
37:19 which were left behind at the beginning of the thousand years.
37:22 Now let's go there to Revelation 20
37:24 because I want you to see this.
37:26 Revelation chapter 20.
37:29 This is a very important point.
37:33 You know, the much maligned NIV...
37:37 ...has the parentheses; and they belong.
37:39 That's why I say, you need to be eclectic in your way
37:42 of using Bible versions.
37:44 You can't say exclusively, "The King James, and no more,"
37:48 and that it's a blasphemy to read the NIV.
37:51 There are things in the NIV that are better
37:53 than the King James translation.
37:55 I'm not saying the manuscripts that were used were better.
37:59 I'm saying that the translation sometimes is better.
38:01 Are you understanding the distinction?
38:03 We have to be practical.
38:05 Now, notice Revelation chapter 20
38:08 and let's go to verse 6.
38:11 Actually, verse 4.
38:12 "And I saw thrones, and they sat on them,
38:14 and judgment was committed to them.
38:16 Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded
38:18 for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God,
38:21 who had not worshiped the beast or his image,
38:23 and had not received his mark on their foreheads
38:25 or on their hands.
38:26 And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
38:31 But the rest of the dead did not live again
38:33 until the thousand years were finished.
38:35 This is the first resurrection."
38:36 Wow, there you have... See the problem?
38:40 So those who resurrect after the thousand years,
38:42 that's the first resurrection, right?
38:44 No, because we already noticed that those who resurrected
38:47 in the first resurrection are the righteous.
38:49 So what do you do?
38:50 If you put parentheses around the portion of verse 5
38:55 that says, "But the rest of the dead did not live again
38:59 until the thousand years were finished," if you put paren...
39:01 What is a parenthesis?
39:02 What is the purpose of parentheses?
39:05 It is to break the flow of thought to add an explanation.
39:08 And so if you put parentheses there, and you read verse 4,
39:14 and you connect it with verse 6 and leave 5 in parentheses,
39:19 this is the way it would read:
39:21 Verse 4 again, "And I saw thrones, and they sat on them,
39:24 and judgment was committed to them.
39:26 Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded
39:28 for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God,
39:30 who had not worshiped the beast or his image,
39:32 and had not received his mark on their foreheads
39:34 or on their hands.
39:35 And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
39:38 Blessed and holy...
39:40 This is the first resurrection."
39:42 Are you with me?
39:44 So you skip what is in parentheses.
39:46 It's an explanatory note about the rest of the dead.
39:50 Okay, I see you nodding. So that's good.
39:54 Now at the end of the thousand years,
39:56 going back to our material,
39:58 at the end of the thousand years, Satan will be what?
40:01 Released from his prison.
40:03 And he will go out to deceive the nations once again.
40:08 What does it mean that he's unbound?
40:12 The rest of the dead live again.
40:14 Notice, if all the wicked are dead during the thousand years,
40:19 then Satan will have no one to deceive.
40:23 When the wicked resurrect at the end of the thousand years,
40:26 Satan will have his power base back
40:29 and will be able to deceive once again.
40:31 Thus, the binding and unbinding of Satan is explained by
40:35 the condition of the wicked.
40:37 When they are dead, Satan is bound.
40:39 When they resurrect, Satan is unbound.
40:43 Revelation 20 verse 5 contains the key that explains
40:47 the binding and unbinding of Satan.
40:49 How much power does Satan have if he doesn't
40:52 have any followers?
40:54 None, he is bound.
40:57 And when his wicked followers resurrect,
41:00 he has his power base back.
41:02 And so he is unbound.
41:05 Notice that the host of the wicked will be innumerable,
41:09 like the sand of the sea, and they will come from the
41:12 four corners of the earth.
41:14 The cards seem to be stacked in favor of the wicked,
41:17 and the righteous appear to be in jeopardy.
41:21 Now before we go to the next point,
41:23 I want to say that the judgment that takes place
41:26 during the thousand years is not going to change anything.
41:31 There's not going to be anybody that when you open the books
41:35 you say, "Oh Lord, this one should have been up here."
41:38 The judgment during the thousand years
41:40 is God's great audit.
41:43 What does an auditor do?
41:45 He cooks the books, right?
41:48 No, an auditor checks the books to see if the accounting
41:52 was done correctly.
41:54 And so during the thousand years,
41:56 God is going to do an audit.
41:58 And by the way, when you examine the audit, you will say,
42:00 "Wow, the books were kept just right."
42:05 So the thousand year judgment is God's audit.
42:09 I also like to compare it with an instant replay.
42:13 You know, when a baseball game is going on
42:16 and there's a close play at first base,
42:19 and the umpire calls the individual safe
42:21 and everybody is booing, what do you want to see?
42:24 You want to see the replay to see if the umpire got it right.
42:29 And so the purpose of the millennial judgment
42:32 is, you see, God has called the wicked out.
42:38 He says, "You're out of here."
42:41 And so the purpose of the judgment is to examine
42:44 if the umpire got it right.
42:46 And we're going to discover that He got it right
42:48 in every single case.
42:51 The purpose is not to reverse any case.
42:53 The purpose is to show that God did everything right.
42:59 Now let's continue here.
43:00 The wicked surround the what?
43:03 The camp of the saints and the beloved city.
43:06 Let me ask you, who is the center of focus here?
43:10 Is it the wicked or is it the righteous?
43:13 It's still the righteous.
43:15 What is the purpose of saying that the wicked
43:18 surrounded the city?
43:19 Well, they put the righteous in jeopardy, right?
43:22 So the center of focus is still the righteous.
43:25 Because they're in the city and the wicked surround it,
43:27 and it looks like the righteous are going to be destroyed.
43:30 The center of focus is still the righteous.
43:33 Now, let's read the note.
43:35 They surround the camp of the saints.
43:37 What happened to God's people all over the earth
43:39 before the millennium now happens to God's people
43:42 all gathered in one place.
43:45 See, before the millennium, Jerusalem is what?
43:49 Worldwide. Jerusalem is global.
43:51 So when the wicked gather around Jerusalem
43:54 before the second coming, they're gathering around
43:57 Jerusalem worldwide.
43:59 Are you following me?
44:01 After the second coming and the millennium,
44:04 things become literal.
44:06 God's people are literally within the literal city,
44:09 and the wicked literally gather around the city.
44:12 Do you see the principle?
44:14 And so, you know, futurists have it wrong.
44:18 They say, "Oh, the wicked are going to gather around
44:20 little Jerusalem in the Middle East before the second coming."
44:22 No.
44:23 It violates the principle.
44:25 The principle is that before the second coming
44:28 Jerusalem is global.
44:31 And therefore, the enemies are global.
44:32 And the gathering of the enemies is a global gathering
44:35 against global Jerusalem.
44:37 And then when Jesus comes, after the millennium He comes down.
44:41 Then you will deal with the literal.
44:42 It'll be a literal city with all of God's literal saints inside.
44:45 The wicked will literally gather around the city.
44:47 Are you understanding the principle?
44:50 Now, forgive me for getting so excited.
44:56 What happened to God's people all over the earth
44:58 before the millennium now happens to God's people
45:01 all gathered in one place.
45:02 Jerusalem, before the millennium, is worldwide;
45:04 where two or three are gathered in Christ's name.
45:07 But after the millennium, all God's people are gathered
45:09 in a literal place in the literal Jerusalem.
45:12 They are gathered there at the second coming of Jesus.
45:16 Satan, his angels, and the wicked will be unable to
45:19 conquer the city.
45:20 They will all be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone
45:25 where the beast and the false prophet had been cast
45:29 before the millennium.
45:33 So what happens with God's people?
45:35 Are the wicked able to destroy them? No.
45:38 So let me ask you, what is the focus
45:40 of the second passage here?
45:42 Do you see that it took you full circle again?
45:45 What happens with the righteous at the beginning,
45:47 during, what they did during the millennium,
45:50 and what happened at the end of the millennium.
45:52 But now we don't know much about the wicked
45:55 except that they surrounded the city to destroy the saints.
45:57 So we need to know, did God show the wicked their cases?
46:01 I mean, did God do a judgment so that the wicked
46:04 could see the judgment that the righteous performed
46:06 during the thousand years?
46:07 Are you understanding me?
46:09 So we go to the third cycle.
46:11 Revelation 20:11 to 21 verse 1.
46:15 Revelation 20:11 through 21:1 goes over the same ground
46:20 as the previous two outlines.
46:22 But the central concern is with the judgment of the wicked
46:25 after the millennium.
46:27 After the thousand years, the rest of the dead live again.
46:34 Now, this is important.
46:37 At the second coming of Jesus, what appears?
46:41 A white throne.
46:43 See, Revelation 20 verse 11, folks, is not describing
46:48 something that happens after the millennium.
46:51 Revelation 20 verse 11 is speaking about an event
46:54 that takes place at the second coming.
46:57 Because it's taking you back to the beginning
46:58 of the millennium again.
47:01 And you're going to see that in a minute.
47:04 At the second coming of Jesus, a white throne appears.
47:06 We are told in Revelation 20 verse 11,
47:08 "Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it,
47:12 from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away.
47:15 And there was found no place for them."
47:21 Now let's read the note.
47:24 The events of Revelation 20 verse 11
47:26 take place at the second coming at the beginning
47:29 of the millennium.
47:31 Notice this event as described in Revelation 6:14-17.
47:34 You say, "Now wait a minute.
47:36 Does Jesus at His second coming come seated on a throne?"
47:39 Yes He does.
47:41 He's depicted as coming on a horse; He's a conqueror,
47:44 but He also comes on a throne because He's a King.
47:47 Different emphases.
47:51 Notice this event as described in Revelation 6:14-17.
47:55 It says, "Then the sky receded as a scroll
47:58 when it is rolled up..."
47:59 Does the sky disappear then?
48:01 Yes.
48:03 "...and every mountain and island was moved
48:05 out of its place.
48:07 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men,
48:10 the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man,
48:12 hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains,
48:15 and said to the mountains and the rocks,
48:17 'Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him
48:19 who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb.
48:23 For the great day of His wrath has come,
48:24 and who is able to stand?'"
48:26 Does Jesus sit on a throne at His second coming?
48:29 He most certainly does.
48:30 So Revelation 20 verse 11 is really depicting Jesus
48:34 coming and sitting on that throne.
48:37 Because if you read Revelation 20:11,
48:39 it says the heaven recedes and the earth disappears.
48:43 Very similar description.
48:46 Now notice, Revelation 20 verse 12 then describes...
48:50 This is important.
48:51 Now we're going to go to an event that happens
48:53 during the millennium.
48:54 See, the white throne is at the beginning.
48:57 The second coming.
48:59 Now we're going to deal with what happens
49:01 during the millennium.
49:02 It says, Revelation 20 verse 12 says
49:05 the dead were standing before God.
49:08 Which dead?
49:11 The righteous dead?
49:12 No, the righteous dead are already in heaven, folks.
49:14 So who is standing before God?
49:16 The wicked dead.
49:17 How can wicked dead people stand before God
49:19 if they're dead?
49:21 Nope, not in verse 12 they don't.
49:25 In verse 12 they're not resurrected.
49:30 Yes.
49:32 The dead stand before God through the books.
49:35 Just like the righteous stood before God in the books
49:38 during the investigative judgment.
49:40 Are you with me?
49:42 I'm going to prove it to you.
49:44 So it says, Revelation 20 verse 12 then describes
49:49 the dead standing before God, books are opened.
49:53 "And another book is opened, which is the Book of Life."
49:56 And listen carefully.
49:57 And the dead were judged according to the things
50:00 that were written in the books, according to their works.
50:03 Who was judged?
50:05 Not those were are alive.
50:06 The dead.
50:09 So the white throne is the second coming.
50:12 Then the dead are judged.
50:15 And then comes the resurrection after the millennium.
50:20 Yea, absolutely. It's another cycle.
50:25 Notice, let's read the note here.
50:29 This verse is describing events that take place
50:31 during the millennium.
50:32 It is obvious that dead people cannot stand
50:35 before God personally.
50:36 The text explicitly states that the wicked stood before God
50:39 through the record of their lives.
50:42 Through their works, right?
50:43 In the fourth outline, we will notice what those works were
50:46 that condemned the wicked.
50:48 See, there's no list in this cycle.
50:50 But in the last cycle we're going to see why they were lost.
50:56 In the fourth outline we will notice that those whose works
50:59 condemn them will be deleted from the Book of Life.
51:02 Revelation 20 verse 12 is describing the judgment
51:04 of the wicked dead during the millennium.
51:07 But now notice.
51:09 The first part of Revelation 20 verse 13
51:12 describes the resurrection of the wicked dead
51:15 after the millennium.
51:17 Because we are told that the sea gave up the dead
51:21 who were in it.
51:22 And death and Hades, which is the grave,
51:25 delivered up the dead who were in them.
51:29 What does that mean, that the sea and the grave
51:33 gave up the dead that were in them?
51:35 That is the resurrection.
51:39 In Isaiah 26, it says that the earth will cast forth the dead.
51:44 A very similar expression.
51:46 So, you have the white throne at the second coming.
51:50 You have the judgment of the dead during the thousand years.
51:53 And now you have the resurrection
51:54 after the thousand years.
51:55 Are the wicked going to see the record of their lives
51:58 when they resurrect?
52:00 Notice, it's clear.
52:02 Ellen White was right.
52:05 And she didn't get it from a vision.
52:06 She's getting it from Scripture.
52:10 Notice, the first part of Revelation 20:13 describes
52:14 the resurrection of the wicked dead after the millennium.
52:16 Because we are told that the sea gave up the dead
52:19 who were in it, and death and Hades delivered up the dead
52:21 who were in them.
52:23 According to the second part of Revelation 20 verse 13,
52:26 after the wicked resurrected, what happened?
52:29 They were judged, each one according to his works.
52:33 So are the wicked going to see the record of their lives?
52:37 Yes they are.
52:38 We know that this judgment, listen carefully,
52:41 takes place on earth.
52:43 Because according to verses 7 through 9,
52:45 the wicked surrounded the holy city on earth.
52:50 Now listen, the books, plural, contain the works of the wicked.
52:55 And they are judged according to the things which were written
52:58 in the books.
53:01 Though we are saved by grace through faith,
53:05 our works reveal whether our faith is genuine.
53:09 In the judgment, it will be seen that many of the wicked said,
53:13 "Lord, Lord," but their lives were filled with lawlessness.
53:20 The Book of Life contains what?
53:23 The names of all those who will be saved.
53:30 Now why is the book of life brought out
53:32 in this post millennial judgment?
53:36 Why is the book...
53:37 It says, "books were opened," and then it says,
53:40 another book, the Book of Life, was opened.
53:41 Do you know why?
53:42 Because God is going to show the wicked
53:45 the record of their lives, and then He's going to
53:46 open up the Book of Life and say, "Your name isn't here."
53:52 Because the last verse of Revelation 20 says
53:55 whoever was not found in the Book of Life
53:57 was cast into the lake of fire.
53:59 The purpose of the Book of Life is to show them
54:02 that they are not there.
54:03 And the reason they are not there is because of
54:05 what is in the books.
54:08 Are you with me?
54:09 See, there's so much more in this passage
54:12 than what we've seen as Adventists.
54:16 You know, we just study and read the same old stuff
54:18 that we've read time and again.
54:21 And we preach it over and over again.
54:23 Because we don't go to the text and study for ourselves.
54:25 I don't have any divine enlightenment.
54:27 I'm not more intelligent than any of you.
54:29 I'm probably less intelligent than many of you.
54:32 But you can go to Scripture and you can study
54:34 these things for yourselves.
54:36 But we have to invest the time and the effort,
54:39 and we have to pray, and we have to ask the text questions,
54:42 and we have to search for answers to the questions.
54:45 We have to be inquisitive readers.
54:48 Our mind has to be engaged when we're studying Scripture,
54:52 in other words.
54:54 Don't just be reflectors of what other people have said
54:56 about the millennium.
54:57 Go and study it for yourself and read the spirit of prophecy.
55:00 It's amazing when you read
55:02 the last chapter of, Great Controversy.
55:03 It's all there.
55:07 Anyway.
55:14 Preaching to the choir, I know.
55:18 Now listen, the note.
55:21 The names of the lost will not be found in the Book of Life
55:24 because of the record of their lives,
55:26 which was written in the books.
55:28 At this point, we do not know what those works were.
55:33 But in the next outline we will.
55:35 It is a remarkable fact that God will not destroy the wicked
55:39 until they are convinced that God dealt justly with them.
55:42 They will even see the record.
55:45 After the judgment of the wicked, they will be what?
55:48 They will be cast into the lake of fire,
55:50 and will suffer what?
55:51 Second death.
55:53 Revelation 20 verses 14 and 15 reaches the same climax
55:58 as had previously been reached in Revelation 20 verses 8 and 9
56:02 where it says that the wicked, and the devil, and his angels,
56:04 were thrown into the lake of fire.
56:05 Now you have the same climax again.
56:08 But it's a climax of the third outline.
56:12 After all, there are not two lakes of fire
56:14 where the wicked will be cast.
56:16 There's only one.
56:17 After Satan and his angels and the wicked...
56:21 After Satan, and his angels, the wicked, death, and the grave
56:25 have been cast into the lake of fire,
56:27 God will make what?
56:28 A new heavens and a new earth, because the first heaven
56:32 and the first earth had passed away.
56:33 Let me ask you, does Revelation 21 verse 1
56:36 belong to chapter 20?
56:38 It does.
56:39 After the lake of fire, then we find that God makes what?
56:44 A new heaven and a new earth.
56:46 In other words, the chapter division is in the wrong place.
56:52 Now, our time is just about up.
56:54 So we're going to have to take a little bit of our next session
56:57 to finish outline number four.
56:59 But we're going to notice in our study of the last page
57:05 of this material that you have before you
57:08 that the purpose of the fourth outline
57:11 is to show what was contained in the records of the wicked.
57:15 And it is also going to show us what life will be like
57:22 in the holy city and in the new earth.
57:25 And of course, we have to take a look at that.
57:28 So in our next session, we are going to take a look at
57:32 cycle number four.
57:34 Have you been understanding what we've studied so far?
57:37 We're going to take a look at cycle number four,
57:39 and then we will have a complete picture
57:42 of the millennium.
