00:01 Hi, I'm Cami, Vice President for Adventist World Radio.
00:05 March 13 is a special day for us this year 00:08 as it is our global offering Sabbath 00:09 where you can support the work 00:11 that AWR is doing all around the world. 00:16 My name is Dr. Duane McKey, 00:18 I'm President of Adventist World Radio. 00:20 I want to thank each of you for your wonderful prayers 00:22 and support for AWR. 00:24 This year is our 50th anniversary. 00:26 God has given us so much to be thankful for. 00:29 Here are just a few highlights. 00:31 We have new radio stations in Paris, 00:33 France, and Kinshasa, Congo. 00:35 This means we are now broadcasting 00:38 to the two largest French speaking cities 00:40 in the world. 00:41 Our worldwide team uses cell phone evangelism 00:44 to spread the three angels' messages 00:46 to over 200,000 people weekly. 00:49 Our five shortwave towers in Guan 00:50 continue to broadcast the Adventist message 00:53 to over one-third of the world. 00:56 AWR360 broadcasted baptism 00:58 is perfectly illustrated in the Philippines. 01:01 After four years of broadcasting, 01:03 along with boots on the ground missionaries, 01:05 a 50 year terrorist war is coming to an end 01:08 as rebels are laying down their AK47s and being baptized. 01:12 I'm thrilled to have just completed 01:14 my online series Earth's Final Countdown, 01:17 and I invite you to join 1000s in watching at awr.org/bible. 01:23 Now let's hear what Cami has been doing 01:25 during lockdown from her living room. 01:27 AWR responded to our world's pandemic 01:30 in the spring of 2020 01:32 by launching an online evangelistic series, 01:35 titled Unlocking Bible Prophecies. 01:38 These 14 end-time episodes have received 01:41 over 7 million views collectively, 01:44 from the social media channels 01:45 of AWR and the General Conference, 01:48 there was 1.5 million views across Russia alone. 01:53 This series is currently being translated 01:55 into over 40 languages. 01:58 TV stations from the Philippines to India 02:00 are airing this series on their local channels. 02:04 Our goal with AWR and as Adventist 02:07 is to have our Bible based messages 02:09 show up on the first page of Google 02:11 and YouTube searches. 02:13 Google the phrases second coming, 02:16 mark of the beast, Sabbath day, 02:18 and Bible prophecies and praise God, 02:21 our videos continue to rank 02:24 in the first spots of these search results. 02:26 Testimonials pouring daily 02:28 from almost every continent of thousands of baptisms 02:32 from high priests to hired hitmen. 02:34 Here's just one of the amazing stories. 02:38 In an undisclosed country, we meet Liam. 02:42 He is a powerful 02:43 and top commanding officer in the army 02:46 and has complete control over all military operations 02:50 daily carrying out the wishes of the country's dictator. 02:54 Recently, someone began sending him video messages 02:57 straight to his cell phone. 02:59 These messages spoke of a God of love and forgiveness, 03:02 a God who could change lives. 03:06 At first commander Liam was annoyed 03:08 that someone had found his private phone number 03:10 and was sending these videos to him. 03:13 But then he found out it was a friend of his 03:15 and so decided to watch. 03:18 Pretty soon he was hooked. 03:21 Unbeknownst to him, he was watching 03:23 AWR's Unlocking Bible Prophecy series, 03:27 and each presentation was more compelling to him 03:30 than the one before. 03:33 Over the years, 03:34 Commander Liam had made many enemies. 03:36 So to protect himself and his family, 03:39 he hired a witch to cast spells on them. 03:42 She was very powerful, and he came to rely on her. 03:48 One night as Liam was watching one of the AWR videos, 03:52 his witch found him 03:54 and commanded him to stop and listen to her. 03:57 She exclaimed, this woman you were listening to 04:01 has a magic more powerful than mine 04:04 and I need that power. 04:07 The commander invited her to watch the messages with him. 04:10 And as of February, 2021, 04:13 we are thrilled to report 04:15 that they are both now taking Bible studies 04:17 and are connecting 04:19 with our local AWR evangelists in the field. 04:23 If you feel impressed to give, there are several options, 04:27 one, mark the envelope with AWR 04:30 so that these funds go directly to Adventist World Radio. 04:33 Two, you can also easily donate online@awr.org 04:38 And three, select Adventist World Radio 04:40 on the Adventist giving website or app. 04:43 Whatever amount you give goes to the front lines 04:45 and supports work of winning souls 04:47 all around the world. 04:49 I would like to thank each of you personally 04:51 for continuing to support the work of AWR. 04:54 The ministry that goes wherever air goes. 04:57 With God there are no walls, no borders and no limits. 05:01 From broadcast to baptism, this is AWR360. 05:44 I grew up a farm boy in North Dakota 05:49 till I went away to Union College 05:51 and met and married this young lady. 05:56 And two weeks 05:58 before our fourth child was born, 06:00 we started medical school 06:03 and moved up here 06:04 to this delightful Ooltewah, Tennessee area 06:09 and so we love it here. 06:15 When we went to the rally here and saw what AWR is doing, 06:20 and how they could get into areas 06:23 where far as I know, 06:25 no other ministries can reach 06:29 and some of the stories that were given with Cami 06:33 and places they'd gone and Duane, 06:37 that really impressed me and I said, 06:39 "This is a really worthy ministry." 06:44 I met Jeff Wilson 06:45 who said he could do our will and trust here. 06:50 It is painless. 06:52 It went smoothly, 06:54 Jeff took care of it all 06:55 and to get the trust 06:59 without any out of pocket costs 07:00 was way beyond what I expected. 07:09 Around the world there are many 07:11 who have never heard of Jesus before. 07:14 Follow along to see what God is doing 07:16 to reach those who are hungry for the gospel. 07:37 Greetings, my friends. 07:39 I'm Dr. Duane McKey 07:40 with Adventist World Radio, president. 07:42 It's great to see you again this month. 07:44 I want to share some things with you about my history. 07:49 The year was 1889, I wasn't alive then. 07:52 But this is the land runs that were taking place. 07:56 Remember I've said before that Kathy's grandparents, 07:59 great grandparents came down to the Volga River in Russia. 08:03 They were Germans who had immigrated there 08:04 and then to the States into North Dakota. 08:06 Mine came from the same place. 08:08 They came to the States in North Dakota. 08:11 Now, mine were a little softer, hers were tough. 08:16 So they stayed in Dakota, 08:17 and they went on the land runs there 08:19 and they got a piece of land. 08:21 Might have heard about land in Oklahoma, 08:23 and they had heard that Oklahoma 08:24 was a lot warmer than North Dakota. 08:27 And so in 1891, the second or third land run, 08:31 they made the land run 08:33 into a place near Chandler, Oklahoma. 08:35 That's where our farm is now. 08:38 And they got 160 acres. 08:41 My great grandfather 08:43 and great grandmother spoke German only. 08:46 And my grandmother was with she was a young girl then, 08:49 she was learning English. 08:51 They were there for some time. 08:53 Not, oh, I think it's about a mile 08:55 from where they were about mile. 08:57 Yeah, little mile and a half, mile and a quarter, 08:58 something like that. 09:00 There were number of Germans around 09:02 and they started to have a church. 09:06 And they had a series of evangelistic meetings, 09:08 kind of like the ones 09:09 that Cami is doing that I'm doing 09:11 that we're doing this prophecy thing. 09:13 And so my great grandparents and my grandmother went, 09:16 and they got so excited. 09:18 They were learning about the truth, 09:20 learning about the Sabbath, 09:21 learning that Jesus was coming back soon. 09:23 They got so excited. 09:25 So they prepared to be baptized. 09:26 This was 1898. 09:28 They built their house, they had farm, 09:30 they had cotton and different things 09:31 and they're going to these meetings 09:33 and are preparing to get baptized. 09:36 My great grandfather got very sick. 09:39 And so, he kind of, 09:42 he went into a coma that he came out of 09:43 and back and forth. 09:45 And he had a really deep sleep 09:46 and my grandmother was taking the fever away 09:49 and wetting his brow and everything. 09:51 And then he woke up and he said, 09:53 "I just had a dream." 09:55 Really? I just had a dream. 09:57 Remember this is 1898. 09:59 He said, "I dreamt, I was in heaven. 10:04 And Jesus came up to me, and He said, 10:09 "Tell your people, tell your family to get ready, 10:14 because I am coming soon." 10:16 And so, my great grandmother said, 10:19 "Well, how soon? 10:20 How soon?" 10:22 He said, "I don't know. 10:23 He didn't say but I think he said, 10:26 it seemed to me it would be like 10:27 100 years or so. 10:29 A 100 years or so. 10:32 That was at 98. 10:36 It's 100 years or so now. 10:38 I think Jesus is coming so soon. 10:41 Just kitty corner across from that 160 acres, 10:45 where my great grandparents and my grandmother 10:48 when they homesteaded, 10:49 kitty corner across my parents bought a farm many years ago, 10:53 I was born on that farm. 10:55 My parents had gone now, 10:56 part of it was given to Kathy and I as an inheritance. 11:01 And we've been praying about this. 11:02 We've been praying, Lord, 11:04 we see all this stuff happening around the world. 11:07 In America and Africa, and it's chaos, 11:11 and see life is getting worse and worse. 11:13 And so I love 11:15 what Adventist World Radio is doing. 11:18 We say we go where air goes. 11:20 You go to the most difficult place 11:22 on the earth. 11:23 The most terrible, 11:25 scariest places like North Korea, the Amazon, 11:27 anyplace Adventist World Radio is there. 11:29 And if we're not, we'll be there soon. 11:31 We're reaching the whole world through the internet. 11:34 We're reaching the whole world through shortwave, 11:36 every means with all the things together, 11:38 we're reaching the world. 11:39 Jesus is coming soon. That's the message. 11:42 And so I said to Kathy the other day, 11:45 let's sell the farm, 11:47 the farm that our parents gave me. 11:49 And when we get to heaven, 11:50 we're gonna tell my mom and dad, 11:53 we're gonna say, you know, what we did? 11:55 We sold the farm. 11:57 And we put it, we gave it to Adventist World Radio, 12:00 we put it in a charitable gift annuity. 12:03 And that's like an inheritance, 12:06 you get, you take the inheritance 12:08 and give it to Adventist World Radio, 12:09 and they pay you a little bit as long as you live, 12:12 When you die, it all goes to them. 12:15 Wow. 12:16 We're so excited that we could be a part 12:18 of finish network, 12:20 Kathy and I believe in Adventist World Radio, 12:22 we believe in the mission. 12:24 We think this is the ministry 12:26 that's reaching the world for Jesus. 12:29 Thank you for your support, and your prayers, 12:32 and our prayer is, 12:34 Lord Jesus, even so come quickly. 12:37 I want Jesus to come, don't you? 12:41 Let me pray for you. 12:43 Father in heaven, I pray for each one 12:45 of our lovely people who love us 12:48 and support us and pray for us. 12:50 I pray that as we give our gifts 12:52 to Your work to help finish 12:55 Your work around the world, 12:57 that the work will be finished and will fulfill, 13:00 by God's grace help fulfill the gospel commission 13:04 that Jesus gave us to go into all the world 13:06 and to preach and the teach and baptize. 13:09 I thank you and Jesus come. 13:12 Yes, even so, come, Lord Jesus. 13:19 Have you ever thought about how you could leave World Radio offers 13:29 a charitable gift annuity program 13:31 that will provide you a fixed income for life. 13:34 And then the balance can go into the cause of God 13:36 to advance the work of forward to helping you. 13:55 Without your generous support of Adventist World Radio, 13:59 stories like this would never have been possible. 14:14 AWR began in 1971 14:17 with a mission to spread the gospel message 14:19 to hard to reach places. 14:23 Nearly 50 years later, this is still our mission. 14:28 Broadcasting from strategic locations 14:31 around the globe, 14:32 AWR can be heard in over 100 languages 14:35 via shortwave radio 14:36 with a special focus on the 10/40 Window. 14:40 Our network also includes 14:41 over 1000 FM/AM/ DAB and internet stations. 14:47 AWR is expanding to all media platforms 14:50 such as Facebook audio, YouTube, 14:52 and AWR cell phone evangelism. 14:56 Our motto, no walls, no borders, no limits. 15:02 Adventist World Radio is sharing the truth 15:04 where missionaries cannot go. 15:07 Follow along as we travel around the world 15:10 to catch a glimpse into the impact 15:12 that Adventist World Radio is making. 15:16 AWR360 is in the Philippines. 15:21 Agriculture makes up 15:22 one-seventh of this country's economy. 15:26 Many locals make a living 15:28 selling a variety of fruits and grains 15:30 from their fertile land. 15:32 I am visiting the local market in search 15:34 of some interesting native fruits. 15:36 Many are unique to the Philippines. 15:38 Soursop is uniquely spiky and tropical flavor. 15:42 It tastes great 15:44 once you get past its appearance. 15:45 This hairy looking fruit is called rambutan. 15:48 It looks like a child's toy. 15:51 I was a bit skeptical about tasting it, 15:53 but the vendor assured me it was good. 15:55 I am glad I followed her advice 15:57 and sampled it 15:59 because I immediately fell in love 16:00 with this fruit. 16:02 Just like my experience in the marketplace, 16:04 sometimes it takes someone else's help 16:06 to guide us to something good. 16:12 There is a story in the Bible about a man named Saul. 16:15 He was an executioner for what he believed 16:17 to be a good cause. 16:18 But one day, 16:20 he watched as Stephen was stoned to death 16:22 and he never forgot it. 16:23 It changed his life forever. 16:25 We are now on our way to meet a modern day Saul. 16:31 As we enjoy scenic route 16:33 through dense mountainside forests 16:34 and through trickling streams, 16:36 we soon reach our destination. 16:39 Upon arriving I am warmly greeted 16:41 by Daniel and his family. 16:44 They place a beautiful tropical flower 16:46 in my hair. 16:47 He then proudly shows me his radio, 16:49 the tool that truly saved his life. 16:52 As we step outside, 16:54 he begins to share the story of his dark past. 16:58 I don't deserve it, but God has forgiven me. 17:03 At a young age Daniel was trained to kill. 17:07 His father was a commander of communist rebel soldiers, 17:11 the New People's Army. 17:13 His cousins and uncles were rebels too. 17:16 In fact, nearly his entire family 17:18 was part of this feared group. 17:20 Daniel was born into this life. 17:22 It was all he had ever known. 17:24 He wasn't even a teenager when he made his first kill. 17:28 Because Daniel did not hesitate to murder, 17:31 he became the island's top hitman. 17:34 Throughout the Philippines, 17:36 he would hunt the people his group marked for execution. 17:40 He was a messenger of death 17:41 always duty bound to terminate everyone 17:44 on his hit list. 17:46 It became easy for Daniel 17:47 to kill the corrupt politicians, 17:50 policemen, rapists and robbers. 17:52 But there was one death 17:54 that increasingly began to trouble his conscience. 17:56 It was the order to kill a pastor 17:58 who begged him for his life. 18:00 Daniel showed no mercy. 18:02 He could not. 18:03 It was his duty to kill for the rebel cause. 18:07 The more he killed, the more numbed he became, 18:10 never wanting to remember the faces of his victims, 18:13 especially that pastor. 18:16 I can't even remember how many people I've killed. 18:21 One day Daniel returned home to find his family 18:24 listening to an unusual broadcast 18:26 on the radio. 18:27 His wife insisted that Daniel sit down 18:29 and join them. 18:31 The interesting thing is he recognized the station 18:33 to be Adventist World Radio. 18:35 He knew other rebels 18:36 who were also listening to these programs, 18:38 and many of them were convicted to give up 18:40 fighting and be baptized. 18:42 This was the first time he really seriously listened 18:45 to what the speaker was saying. 18:47 He heard about peace and a loving Savior 18:49 who would leave His 99 sheep 18:51 to go back for the one that was lost. 18:54 Daniel's heart softened, and in that moment, 18:56 he understood he was the one lost sheep. 19:00 That's when Satan tried to undo 19:02 all that the Lord had just accomplished. 19:04 Daniel was informed that his closest cousin 19:06 was killed in a skirmish. 19:08 Rage was mounting in his heart 19:10 and he immediately vowed revenge. 19:12 He was my family and friend. 19:14 I knew I had to kill again. 19:18 Upon seeing Daniel's rage, his wife knew what would come. 19:22 She begged her husband to please stay 19:24 and turn up the radio. 19:26 The broadcaster spoke about a forgiving Savior. 19:29 Daniel felt like the speaker was talking directly to him. 19:33 His heart broke. 19:34 Could Jesus really forgive his sins? 19:37 In that moment, something changed. 19:40 He cried as he understood 19:42 that even though he was an evil man, 19:44 God could still wash his sins away. 19:47 As Daniel looked down at his innocent child 19:50 gazing up at him, 19:52 he made the decision to start a new life 19:54 with his family. 19:57 Looking at my past, I know I am unworthy. 20:00 But God still has forgiven me. 20:03 Only He could change my wretched heart. 20:07 He studied daily with his wife 20:09 and soon made the decision to be baptized. 20:14 Daniel now feels the joy of being forgiven. 20:17 Like Paul of old, 20:19 for many years he lived 20:21 and fought for the wrong cause 20:23 until Jesus interceded and called him. 20:26 Now a new man, he lives for Christ. 20:31 Only through the miracle of God's love, 20:33 can a rebel executioner be forgiven and transformed. 20:37 There are millions of people today 20:38 who carry a heavy load of sin. 20:41 They need to know 20:42 that there is forgiveness in Jesus, 20:44 that they can live a life free from the burden of guilt. 20:48 What a privilege to be able to share 20:50 this wonderful message of hope 20:52 with others like Daniel around the world. 20:55 Thank you for your support that makes this possible. 20:59 We so appreciate you partnering with us 21:02 in the greatest calling ever, the saving of souls. 21:06 Working together, we can make a difference for eternity. 21:24 Let's head to our final destination 21:25 in the country of Tanzania in Africa. 21:28 How evident was the success 21:30 of one man's faithfulness to God? 21:37 With colorful clothes and herds of cattle, 21:40 the Maasai people are spread throughout this land. 21:43 Watch us when very wealthy Maasai tribal leader 21:47 does the unthinkable. 21:48 He puts his faith in God first before everything else. 21:52 This is AWR360. 21:56 We are in Tanzania, 21:58 a country famous for the Maasai people, 22:01 known for their distinctive customs 22:03 and brightly colored dress. 22:04 They welcomed me with a native jumping dance. 22:08 From a standing position these warriors 22:10 can vertically spring over three feet high. 22:13 Their smiles made me feel right at home 22:15 and they even allowed me to carry 22:17 one of their precious babies. 22:19 I enjoyed every moment and fell in love 22:22 with these dear people who received me with open arms. 22:26 The Maasai have a semi nomadic lifestyle. 22:29 Even this village we are at right now 22:31 is temporary. 22:33 Every aspect of their lives revolves around their cattle. 22:37 The cows determine where the village moves 22:39 based on where the herds can eat grass. 22:42 Cattle is their currency and their main source of food. 22:45 Nothing is left to waste. 22:47 Even their huts are made of cow dung. 22:51 For a man to give away his cattle 22:53 is foolish and unheard of. 22:55 That's why Abraham's story is amazing. 22:58 He owns more than 1,000 cows. 23:13 I have over 1,000 cows 23:16 and I'm considered rich by my Maasai people, 23:19 but something was missing in my life. 23:23 Abraham's heart was convicted at an evangelistic series, 23:27 and he became a baptized member 23:29 of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 23:33 Most Maasai cannot read or write 23:34 so they learn from the radio. 23:37 Abraham was overjoyed when he tuned in AWR. 23:41 It was a topic of tithing 23:43 that really caught his attention. 23:50 They spoke of faithfulness and trusting God, 23:54 and that 10% belongs to Him. 23:58 As his eyes took in all that he owned, 24:00 he knew what he had to do. 24:03 In that moment, he made a commitment. 24:05 Like Jacob of old, he marked every 10th cow. 24:09 By the time he was finished, 24:10 more than 100 cows have been designated for God. 24:15 My friends and neighbors thought I was crazy. 24:19 To the Massai 100 cows is worth about $30,000. 24:24 You just don't give away 24:25 the most important resource you own. 24:28 Despite the ridicule, 24:29 Abraham remained faithful to God. 24:32 His neighbors stopped laughing nine months later. 24:36 They were shocked to see 24:37 that many of Abraham's cows 24:39 gave birth to twins and his sheep triplets. 24:44 Cows rarely have twins. 24:46 It's considered historic when they do. 24:49 Immediately everyone understood 24:51 that this miracle came from a higher power. 24:54 After the Maasai witnessed Abraham's faithfulness, 24:57 they approached the union president, 24:59 Pastor Godwin Lekundayo and said, 25:02 "We want to tithe too." 25:04 Pastor Godwin was amazed and said, 25:06 "Are you Adventist?" 25:08 They replied, "No, 25:09 but we want God to bless us 25:12 just like he's blessing Abraham." 25:14 And praise the Lord, 25:16 nine months later their cows had twins too. 25:21 Here is something else amazing. 25:23 Every time a thief would steal any of Abraham's cattle, 25:27 the cows would always return home, 25:29 as if guided by unseen hands. 25:33 Now thieves fear stealing from Abraham. 25:37 I praise God for Adventist World Radio. 25:43 Abraham credits AWR for changing his life. 25:47 Everyone sees that the more he gives, 25:49 the more he is blessed. 25:54 Thanks to Abraham's testimony, today, 25:57 over 80 Maasai have accepted Jesus 26:00 and have been baptized. 26:02 And all of them now listen to Adventist World Radio. 26:13 These kinds of miracles not only happened 26:15 a long time ago, 26:16 they're
