00:39 Hello and welcome to Behold the Lamb Presents,
00:41 I am Chris Shelton, your host, and I'm so thankful 00:44 that you've chosen to tune in and to study with us. 00:48 Today we are going to be looking at lesson five 00:51 and it is entitled "Health and Nutrition," 00:54 something that is near and dear to my heart, 00:57 and it is a lesson in one of 25 lessons 01:01 that are in this book, 01:02 "Sharing God's Love, What the Bible Says." 01:06 This was produced for mass distribution 01:08 by our dear brother in Christ, Brother Richard Bland. 01:12 He's at the United Prison Ministries 01:14 and so we've decided to take 01:16 each and every one of his lessons 01:17 and turn them into an hour of study. 01:20 Today again is health and nutrition. 01:25 You know, an accord to letter 01:26 that we find in 3 John 1:2, 01:31 it reads "Beloved, I wish above all things 01:35 that thou mayest prosper and be in health, 01:38 even as thy soul prospereth." 01:40 You know, friend, I have often read that verse 01:43 and I know that it was a cordial introduction 01:47 to his brother Gaius who he loved. 01:49 But you know, I believe prosper and be in health 01:52 is an expression through John from our heavenly Father 01:56 to each and every one of us. 01:59 I truly believe that God wants us to prosper, 02:01 He wants us to be in good health. 02:04 You know, the Bible also teaches, 02:07 "That He's the potter and we're the clay." 02:09 Let's look at Isaiah 64:8, it reads 02:13 "But now, O Lord, thou art our father, 02:16 we are the clay, and thou are our potter, 02:20 and we are all the work of thy hand." 02:23 You know as you think about a potter and clay 02:25 on that spinning wheel, 02:27 it's the potter that's molding and making. 02:30 He's the one that knows what goes into the clay 02:32 to make it just right, 02:34 he adds just enough water to mold it and to shape it 02:37 into something beautiful, something wonderful 02:42 that people would be able to treasure 02:44 for maybe the rest of their lives. 02:46 Same holds true for our heavenly Father, 02:49 He molded us, 02:51 He made us and He knows what's best for you and us. 02:55 He is making us into His image, He's renewing our heart, 02:59 He's renewing our mind 03:01 through health and through nutrition. 03:04 But before we listen to Pastor Kenny today, 03:07 we're going to visit the 3ABN Worship Center 03:10 and we're going to listen to a song 03:12 and please listen to the words of this song, 03:15 it is entitled "More like You" 03:18 and it is sung by Brother Steve Darmody. 03:42 By chiseling the stones 03:45 That built this house 03:49 And carving out a home 03:52 I only dream about 03:55 You're painting me a view 03:59 That I can't live without 04:03 I can't live without 04:09 But you're making me 04:14 More like You 04:17 Creating me into someone who 04:23 Knows the awesome power 04:27 of what love can do 04:31 You're making me 04:34 Making me more like You 04:45 By molding me the hands 04:49 That desire to serve 04:52 And giving me the voice 04:55 That wants to share Your word 04:59 And offering the hope 05:02 That I don't deserve 05:07 I don't deserve 05:12 But you're making me 05:17 more like You 05:20 Creating me 05:23 Into someone who 05:26 Knows the awesome power 05:29 Of what love can do 05:34 You're making me 05:37 Making me more like You 05:55 But you're making me 05:59 more like You 06:02 Creating me 06:05 Into someone who 06:08 Knows the awesome power 06:11 Of what love can do 06:16 You're making me 06:19 Making me more like You 06:31 You're making me 06:35 Making me more 06:40 Like You 06:58 Thank you for joining us once again 06:59 here at Behold the Lamb Ministries. 07:01 We really appreciate, you folks, 07:02 we want you to know that and we appreciate your cards, 07:05 and your letters, and your phone calls. 07:07 You know, we love to hear here how God is working with you, 07:11 day by day drawing you closer to Him for His soon coming. 07:15 The today's lesson, 07:16 and I want you to get a pencil and paper 07:18 so you can jot some things down. 07:19 I mentioned every time we have a program, 07:21 we move rather quickly on some of these 07:23 quotes and things. 07:24 Be sure and write them down 07:25 and go back and study them for yourself. 07:28 We're going to be talking about health and nutrition. 07:31 You know, what a time that we live in 07:32 we need to be healthy, we need to eat the right things 07:34 and so may God help us as we study the Word together. 07:37 And I sure appreciated, Brother Steve Darmody's song 07:40 in the very beginning "More like You." 07:43 And it talks about how He's molding us 07:45 and shaping us into becoming more like Jesus everyday 07:48 and that was such a blessing. 07:50 Always before we go into the study of God's Word, 07:52 we always kneel and have prayer together 07:54 and I invite you, bless your hearts, 07:56 I enjoy hearing that some of you, 07:58 well, you can, you kneel with us 08:00 while we pray together, 08:01 so I'm going to invite you to do that as we pray together. 08:06 Loving Father in heaven, again, 08:08 we thank You for the privilege of prayer, 08:09 we thank You that we can call upon Thee in our time of need. 08:12 Certainly we need Your power, Thy Holy Spirit. 08:15 Lord, help my mind today, 08:16 help me as to read the Word of God 08:18 we pray that it'll be clear. 08:20 It'll come forth in people's hearts 08:22 and their minds and they'll be drawn close to you, 08:24 that they'll learn more 08:27 maybe than what they ever have before 08:29 as the Holy Spirit speaks 08:30 to their heart and to their life. 08:32 Bless us now, we pray to this and we're going to thank You 08:34 in advance for what You're going to do 08:36 in getting our hearts and minds be open 08:38 to that which You for us today, in Jesus' name, 08:40 amen. 08:43 You have your Bible, I want you to turn quickly 08:44 with me to 2 Peter. 08:46 Going to read just a couple of verses here. 08:48 Remember, everything that we start 08:49 talking about here in the beginning of our study, 08:52 it will see how it fits together 08:54 as we get closer to the end. 08:56 So keep all of these things in mind 08:58 because they are to build one on top of the other. 09:02 In this passage of 2 Peter Chapter 1, 09:04 I'm going to just read four, 09:06 maybe three verses here that will help us. 09:08 You've read it many times but in 5, 6, and 7. 09:12 2 Peter 1:5, 6, and 7, the Bible says, 09:16 "And besides this, giving all diligence, 09:19 add to your faith" what? 09:21 "Virtue, and to your virtue knowledge." 09:24 Notice this, "And to knowledge temperance, 09:27 and to temperance patience, and to patience godliness, 09:32 and to godliness brotherly kindness, 09:34 and to brotherly kindness charity." 09:36 Or love. 09:37 Notice, knowledge and temperance, 09:40 this is very important, 09:41 we keep this in our minds and our hearts 09:43 as we study together. 09:44 It's very interesting here, 09:46 Spirit of Prophecy gives just 09:48 about two lines I want you to pay 09:49 close attention to letter 44, written in 1903. 09:54 You know, it really doesn't matter 09:55 how long ago something's been written, 09:57 if it's truth, it's truth, and it remains truth. 09:59 It never changes, but notice just a couple of line, says, 10:03 "Those who disregard" 10:05 notice "His or Jesus' expressed commands 10:08 will form characters 10:10 like the propensities that they indulge." 10:13 Think about it, if we do what? 10:15 Disregard God's expressed commands. 10:20 So if God has commanded it, if God is speaking to us, 10:23 we read it from the Word of God, 10:25 then we decide to disregard it, 10:27 we become just like those things that we are, 10:30 you know, beholding, 10:31 not certainly taking in like we should be. 10:34 So keep that in mind as we study together. 10:36 We are talking about health and nutrition. 10:39 I don't think that I've ever met an individual 10:42 who doesn't want to be healthy. 10:44 I don't think I've ever met anyone. 10:47 Everybody you meet, they say, "But I want to have health." 10:51 And if you would offer them health or even finances, 10:55 majority of people would take what? 10:58 Health above money because we find in the days 11:01 where people who have a lot of money 11:03 and there's something wrong with them, 11:04 they're willing to give what? 11:06 Give everything so that they can back it up, 11:08 so that they can have health. 11:10 The world that we live in is an interesting world. 11:15 Almost everybody that I meet, they are health conscious. 11:19 You know, in the world health conscious today, 11:21 we find that we want to look good, 11:24 we want to feel good, 11:26 and we want to live a long healthy prosperous life. 11:30 So those are kind of the three things that we find 11:32 that is contagious around the world today 11:37 is to spend billions of dollars to look good. 11:40 We'd spend billions if we had it, 11:41 so we could live longer. 11:43 We want to be healthy, we want to be happy. 11:45 And that's no different than what the Bible says 11:47 in this sense, in 3 John 2, 11:50 passage says, "Beloved, I wish above" what? 11:53 "All things that thou mayest prosper and be" where? 11:57 "And be in health," notice this, 12:00 "even as thy soul prospereth." 12:03 So notice the things that are there in there. 12:05 I want you, above all things, 12:07 you prosper and that you be in health 12:10 and he doesn't go on and just say that's it, 12:12 he goes on and talks about the soul's health. 12:15 Very interesting, 12:17 but there's things that have to add up 12:18 in order for our souls to be healthy, 12:22 and we're going to talk about those things. 12:24 Look what John is covering in these verses quickly. 12:27 Certainly he's covering health, and he's covering prosperity 12:30 but notice, he's looking at 12:35 spiritual wellbeing. 12:37 If you have to weigh them all out, 12:38 which one would you choose if you could only have one? 12:41 John wants us to be as he stresses here. 12:44 He said, "I want you to be successful. 12:46 I want you to be prosperous." 12:48 Notice that. 12:49 Even in the temporal things, even things of this life. 12:52 So we are not saying that 12:54 there's lot of things out there, 12:55 they're not bad within themselves, it's our attitude 12:57 and our motive towards those things. 13:00 So he's saying, "Even in the temporal things 13:02 I want to go well for you. 13:03 I want you to have money, 13:05 I want you to have things of this world 13:06 if you can handle it. 13:08 But also, I want you to have 13:09 good spiritual connection with God." 13:11 That's very, very important in this passage. 13:14 Why? 13:15 Because John realizes this 13:17 which we must realize as Christians. 13:20 He realizes the connection between the mind and the body. 13:25 Is there a connection? Absolutely. 13:27 Absolutely between the mind and the body 13:29 or we say when the soul prospers, 13:33 the body is better able to be healthy. 13:38 Does that make sense? 13:39 We're feeling good, we're feeling healthy. 13:42 It makes a difference 13:44 on how we want to spend time with God, 13:46 how we read the Word of God and what we do as Christians. 13:50 Health and nutrition and the importance of it. 13:53 We could say, and someone puts up, 13:55 yeah, we're on the other side of the coin, 13:57 the other side of the coin. 13:59 So in other words, if we're feeling good, 14:00 our spiritual life is better. 14:02 On the other side, 14:03 is if we're not feeling so well, 14:04 sometime we suffer spiritually, 14:07 we can't seem to get in the Word, 14:09 we neglect the Word. 14:12 If we neglect our physical wellbeing, 14:15 you know, it bothers us, 14:16 maybe we just can't sit down 14:18 and we can't read the Word of God. 14:20 We may be going along and getting some bad habits 14:24 in our hearts and in our life 14:26 rather than some of the good things. 14:29 Our religion suffers, our belief in God suffers 14:32 when we go the wrong direction. 14:34 I heard someone say this, 14:37 "It's not enough for the gardener 14:41 to love flowers, he has to hate weeds." 14:45 Does that make sense? 14:46 It's not just, "Oh, I love flowers, 14:47 I love flowers, you've got to hate the weeds." 14:50 As Proverbs tells us in Proverbs14:13, jot it down, 14:55 it's very interesting, notice this, 14:56 it starts out this way "A sound heart..." 15:00 It's very interesting that we have 15:01 and we need a sound heart 15:03 because sound means it's a cured heart. 15:08 We're talking about health and nutrition. 15:10 We have to have a heart that is cured, 15:12 notice this, cured, that means a wholesome heart, 15:16 that means a mended heart. 15:18 And I thought how interesting this is, 15:21 a heart that has been mended by stitches, 15:26 maybe a heart that has been broken, 15:28 maybe a heart who's had physical problems, 15:31 but it can be mended, but he said by stitches. 15:34 This is what he's talking about when he said a sound heart. 15:38 It may not start out that way, may not because of... 15:40 But it can be changed into that sound heart. 15:43 It is the life of the flesh, 15:45 so sound heart then is the life of the what? 15:48 Of the flesh, the verse goes on, it says, 15:50 I don't want to miss this, says, 15:52 "But envy the rottenness of the bones." 15:55 Jealousy. 15:56 Jealousy is a horrible thing, so we want to be mended, 16:00 we want to be wholesome, 16:02 we want to be strong in the Lord. 16:04 Beautiful book that I like Ministry of Healing, 16:06 we find this quote, page 280, 16:10 "That which corrupts the body..." 16:13 Notice the word. 16:14 "That which corrupts the body," that which destroys it, 16:17 that which breaks it, that which is, you know, 16:22 somehow would break down and make it weaker, 16:24 we need to be careful, 16:26 "the body tends to corrupt the soul." 16:28 Whatever breaks down what? The body. 16:30 The body that breaks down, it tends to corrupt the soul. 16:35 Notice how it goes, 16:36 "It unfits the user for communion with God, 16:40 it unfits him for the high and holy service." 16:43 Two things I want you to just remember on that, 16:46 we're looking about it here, Ministry of Healings, page 280. 16:49 First of all if we take anything or do anything 16:52 that corrupts the body, it's going to affect the soul. 16:56 And here's how it does it, 16:57 it affects our communication with God, 16:59 it affects our prayer life with God 17:02 if we're taking the wrong things in. 17:03 We're doing the wrong thing, 17:05 it affects our communication with God. 17:07 And then secondly, you noticed what? 17:10 I become unfit. 17:11 You become unfit because of our life, 17:15 you know, what we're doing in our life, 17:16 things we're taking into our body, fit for service. 17:19 Because when we get ourselves in the position 17:21 to where we cannot go out and do those things 17:24 that God would have us to be doing. 17:26 So we're unfit for service with God. 17:29 This fits in with Leviticus in the old chapter, 20:23. 17:35 Now this was dealing with flesh 17:37 and it's dealing with morality here. 17:39 Leviticus 20:3, God's giving us a warning here, 17:43 "Ye shall not walk in the manner of the nations, 17:47 which I cast out before you: for they" notice, 17:50 "they committed all these things, 17:53 and therefore I abhorred them." 17:56 It's interesting the words that come out 17:57 when we're thinking about, what we're talking about 17:59 health and happiness and, you know, 18:00 things that we eat, 18:02 the things that we take in and so on and so forth. 18:03 God is telling us here right now, He said, 18:06 "Don't be like the other nations. 18:08 I'm looking at a people who are different, 18:09 who'll be different, who'll act different, 18:11 talk different, eat differently, 18:13 will be different from that of the world." 18:16 He said, "Those people of the world I cast out." 18:18 Did you notice that? I cast them out. 18:20 And He used the word, God said, "I abhorred them." 18:23 Whoo, that's strong language for God to use, 18:26 when He said no, because I told them, 18:29 I warned them, 'notice that I abhorred them. 18:32 Now, God makes this strong statement here or two 18:34 in Deuteronomy 7:26 18:36 that I think would help to balance it out. 18:38 Deuteronomy 7:26, 18:41 "Neither shalt thou bring 18:43 an abomination into thine house." 18:46 Interesting what we might want to think as an abomination. 18:50 There's a lot of things that are an abomination to God 18:53 but isn't it wonderful, in His Word, 18:55 He always tells us, this is an abomination. 18:58 This is abomination, and how He said, 19:01 "Don't bring abomination into thine house, 19:04 lest thou be a cursed thing like it." 19:08 Think about that, 19:10 He's called certain things an abomination. 19:13 He said, "If you bring that abomination into your house, 19:16 you are a cursed abomination just like it is." 19:19 That's pretty strong language for us to chew on 19:22 and how far does it go. 19:24 How far does it go 19:25 when we're talking about this subject field for today? 19:28 Very, very interesting. 19:30 You know, this also as we look at, 19:32 to me it sets us for another text 19:34 when we look at it here, in the New Testament. 19:37 In the New Testament, 19:38 it's a lesson set forth by the Holy Spirit, 19:40 I thought was interesting. 19:42 This is one familiar that you know 19:43 found in 1 Corinthians 3:16 and 17. 19:49 Remember we have to hang on every word. 19:52 We have to go line upon line, precept upon precept. 19:54 So things that we've discussed and covered, God said, 19:57 "There are things that are abominations." 19:59 There are things that we shouldn't even bring 20:00 into our house. 20:02 He said, "We have to be careful 20:03 about what we put into our body," 20:04 because it affects our thinking and our relationship with Him. 20:08 I think that boils it down. 20:09 You know God has not changed regards to what men may say, 20:13 "Well, God's changed, says, we're not the same today." 20:15 Bible is the same as it always has been, 20:17 the truth is always the same, it will never change. 20:20 Bible tells us 1 Corinthians 3:16 and 17, 20:23 "Know ye not that ye are the" what? 20:25 Temple of God. 20:26 I like it, "You're the temple of God." 20:28 Don't you know, He's telling you. 20:30 Don't you know "You're the temple of God 20:32 and the Spirit of God dwells in you?" 20:34 I can tell you this today, 20:36 that either the Spirit of God dwells in you 20:38 or the spirit of enemy. 20:39 It is one of the other, it's not just, 20:40 well a little bit of this, a little bit of that, 20:42 one or the other. 20:43 Bitter and sweet water can't come from the same place. 20:46 So he's telling us here, write quick, 20:49 does Holy Spirit wants to dwell in you. 20:51 Now, "If any man defile that temple." 20:55 He just said you were the temple, 20:57 that's where the Holy Spirit wants to dwell. 20:59 But if you are defiling it, what is God going to do? 21:03 "Him shall God destroy, for the temple of God is holy." 21:08 Our temple then, our body should be what? 21:11 It should be holy unto God. 21:13 So we cannot willfully take in things into our body 21:16 or use things that's going to affect us 21:19 mentally, physically and spiritually 21:21 because they work together. 21:23 So as we see this, God says, "I'm going to destroy..." 21:26 The temple is holy and which temple? 21:28 You are. 21:29 So there it makes it very, very clear 21:32 that God wants us to examine these things, 21:35 so that we can be in the best, 21:37 you know, working condition for Him. 21:40 So our relationship can be right. 21:42 Again, little book, 21:43 Ministry of Healing, I love this book. 21:46 Page 310 says this. 21:47 There's a pretty good paragraph. 21:48 But please, listen, because it says 21:50 just what scripture has already told us. 21:52 I've often said... 21:53 People say, "Well, you read Bible, 21:55 then you read some Spirit of Prophecy." 21:56 You know, I always read, what? 21:58 The Bible says first and then what I read to you 22:00 if what gels with the Bible. 22:02 If it doesn't, I'm gonna throw it out. 22:03 But this is gelling 22:05 with what the Bible has already said. 22:07 It says here, 22:08 "Our bodies are Christ's purchased possession." 22:11 He says what? You're the temple. 22:13 And now the Holy Spirit wants to dwell in you. 22:15 Because what? 22:16 We're not our own, isn't that right? 22:18 It says here, "You are His purchased possession." 22:20 Yes. 22:22 Think about it, you're not your own, 22:23 you're purchased by Him, by His blood. 22:27 "We are not at liberty," 22:29 notice this "to do with them as we please." 22:32 How often have you heard someone say, 22:35 "I'll do as I please with my body." 22:37 You see, that just shows 22:39 they don't know the Word of God. 22:41 "I'll do what I please." 22:42 You may do as you please, 22:44 but there's a consequence at the end of it. 22:46 And you may not only suffer what? 22:48 In the life to come, but in this life, 22:50 you'll also suffer if you go against 22:51 what God Has already said in His Word. 22:53 Why? 22:55 Because you've been purchased by Him, He owns you. 22:57 He created you, He owns you. 22:59 Notice, you're not at liberty to do with them as you please. 23:02 "All who understand," careful now, listen, 23:04 "the laws of health should realize their obligation 23:08 to obey these laws 23:10 which God has established in their being." 23:13 Notice this, "Obedience" I like this, 23:15 "to the laws of health 23:17 is to be made a matter of personal duty." 23:21 Our duty is to make sure we understand the laws of what? 23:24 Health. 23:26 The laws of health, this is very important, 23:27 let's build on it. 23:28 The laws of health we need to know 23:30 and obedience to those laws of health. 23:32 If we... 23:34 Notice this, ourselves, if not, 23:35 "We ourselves must suffer the results of violated laws. 23:40 We must individually answer to God 23:42 for our habits and our practices." 23:46 That makes sense, doesn't it? 23:47 We have to answer to God for what? 23:48 Our habits and our practices, whatever they may be. 23:52 You have a choice, you can do what you want, 23:54 but God reveals strongly in His Word 23:57 the path that we must take. 23:59 If we violate these laws, 24:01 we shall suffer even in this life. 24:05 Did you get it? 24:06 Even in this life we shall suffer. 24:08 So we must learn to, in my opinion, 24:11 we must learn to be what the Bible says 24:13 in 1 Corinthians, temperate in how many things? 24:17 1 Corinthians 9:25, 24:19 "Must be temperate in all things." 24:22 What God wants people to be, 24:23 is to be able to balance His Word properly. 24:27 Not go overboard right and left and they talk, 24:29 you know, in politics a lot of times, 24:32 there are the right, 24:33 there are the left, there are... 24:34 We need to learn how to balance the Word of God 24:36 based upon the Word of God here. 24:39 And that means, temperate means, 24:41 I need to learn some self restraint. 24:44 That's what temperate, 24:45 self restraint has to do 24:48 with containing our self. 24:52 This is what God said to be temperate in all things, 24:54 dealing with, we're talking about diet and morality, 24:58 how they work hand in hand. 25:01 Just give a little example about diet, for instance. 25:06 You realize that a person who sits at their job 25:09 needs to be more careful 25:11 of what they take into their body 25:12 than one who is out physically working. 25:14 Does that make sense to us? 25:16 You know, some may get jealous 25:17 but different people have different job, 25:19 that's just the way it is. 25:20 So to help along that line, you say, 25:22 "Well my job is basically using my brain." 25:24 And I said, if we do that? 25:27 What it says, I though very interesting. 25:29 We are to take just two 25:30 or three kinds of food at a meal. 25:34 This will help us if we want to balance it out. 25:37 Just two or three kinds of food, 25:40 we take at one time at each meal. 25:42 Simple food. 25:43 And we eat no more than to satisfy our hunger. 25:47 You know, how a lot of time, we say, 25:48 "Well, I want to eat little more 25:50 because I'm not" what? 25:51 I'm not full yet. 25:52 I'm gonna have another bite of this, 25:54 I'm gonna have another bite of that. 25:56 Many times we've done, "Oh, this tastes good, 25:57 I'm gonna have a little bit more." 25:59 But we are talking about to be healthy 26:01 and have ourselves in the best condition 26:04 that God can use us. 26:05 Is that we need to be careful if our job is sedentary, 26:08 that we... 26:09 And millions and millions that have that job. 26:12 So we just eat simple food, 26:13 just two or three items, one time. 26:16 And then we naturally, we don't eat, 26:18 you know, till we're real full. 26:20 Because, you know, the gauge on that sometime is what? 26:23 After what we are eating, 26:24 and just say for about 10 minutes 26:26 you gonna say, ooh, I'm full, if you didn't eat another drop. 26:28 But right at that same time, you're not really feeling it, 26:30 it's kind of delayed response. 26:32 And then number three, is exercise. 26:35 Exercise every day. 26:38 Spirit of Prophecy says, 26:39 we need to exercise everyday of our life. 26:42 Now remember the things that we just read here, 26:44 the things that God has made plain, 26:45 and we refuse to do those things, 26:47 we would we held accountable for that. 26:50 This is the best way to have optimal health. 26:53 Now think about it, don't raise your hand, 26:54 if I say, now how many exercise on a regular basis? 26:57 Probably very few will raise their hand. 26:58 How many just choose one, or two, or three 27:00 different kind of food? 27:03 Well, we need to look at it and say, 27:04 "Now how healthy do I want to be? 27:06 And how much brain power do I really need? 27:10 You know, how can I be better fit 27:11 to be a servant of God?" 27:14 But now, on the other hand, those who are outside working 27:17 and those who burn a lot of calories, 27:19 those who are climbing, and stretching, 27:21 and muscling things, whatever, 27:23 you don't have to be quiet so particular. 27:25 Remember, I'm still talking about, 27:27 I'm talking about the clean. 27:28 I'm never talking about the unclean here. 27:30 God made a distinction, 27:31 I'll bring that up a little bit later. 27:33 There's distinction between the clean, 27:34 and the unclean when we are talking about here. 27:37 But we need to just look at it here, 27:38 we need to regardless of what your work 27:41 or position is, because I know myself, 27:43 when I was in construction for years. 27:44 And I work outside in the sun, or whatever it is. 27:46 You sweat an awful lot. 27:48 Man, you can eat an awful lot and you need that's all about 27:50 three squares to keep you going. 27:52 That doesn't mean everybody does, 27:54 because they are not burning, often doing what you are doing. 27:56 But you still need to be careful what you eat, 27:59 and what you drink, is what God said. 28:00 So here's a question, so what should we eat? 28:03 We're talking about health and nutrition. 28:05 What should we eat according to the Bible? 28:07 Either the Bible is changed, or has not changed. 28:10 It either is right, or it's wrong. 28:13 Or have we changed? 28:14 So what should we really eat? 28:16 Turn with your Bible, 28:17 I'm gonna turn to Genesis Chapter 1. 28:19 We always go back to the beginning, 28:20 if you want to find out truth. 28:22 Is that right? 28:23 You always go back the way God set it up, 28:24 and then we find out, it's where we are at now. 28:26 What in the world has happened? 28:29 Genesis 1:29. 28:32 We'll just read that verse here and look at it quickly. 28:35 Genesis 1:29, it says 28:37 "And God said, behold I have given you every" what? 28:42 A herb, "Herb to be bearing seed, 28:44 which is upon the face of the earth, 28:46 every tree, in which is the fruit 28:49 of a tree yielding seed, 28:51 to you it shall be for meat or food." 28:53 This is what God said, the One who created us. 28:57 This is nothing new for most, 28:59 but people sometime, we just don't get it. 29:01 We say, "Well, I know what He did. 29:02 I know, He created us. 29:04 He knows us inside and out. 29:06 He knows what is best for us." 29:07 Here He said, "I created you, 29:09 here's what I want you to eat right here. 29:11 I want you to eat every herb bearing seed 29:13 which is upon the face of the earth and every tree 29:16 in which there's the fruit of the tree." 29:18 Notice that, as we look at it. 29:21 And God said, if you back up a verse to 27, notice it. 29:26 It says, "So God created man in His" what? 29:28 Own image. 29:30 "His own image, in the image of God created He him, 29:33 male and female created He them." 29:36 Just simply once again to reiterate what? 29:38 He created us. 29:40 He knows what we are, who we are, 29:42 what we're made up of, 29:43 and what will make you tick better. 29:45 Right. 29:46 And when we choose to go the other way, 29:48 what are we really saying? 29:50 What are we really saying? 29:51 God, I know better than you know. 29:53 I know what You said back here, 29:55 and I know that it's truth back here. 29:56 But I'm gonna do what I want to do, 29:58 because my taste buds say so. 30:00 We had to be very careful because it says, 30:02 "We're gonna reap what we sow." 30:05 And when God has given specific commands, 30:07 He's gonna hold us accountable for those things. 30:10 It just makes sense, 30:11 thanks that we've been over for, maybe, many times. 30:13 God created man. 30:16 So He goes on to tell us 30:18 certain things there, didn't He? 30:19 What we basically, we read in verse 29, 30:21 what we should be eating. 30:24 Remember, when it says "Every herb," 30:25 notice this, "Man was to eat from the tree 30:29 and from the" what? 30:31 The field. 30:32 "The tree and the field." 30:33 That means grains, nuts, and fruit in the beginning. 30:37 Is that true? 30:38 God set it up that way, He said that simple. 30:41 Animals, notice this, 30:42 animals were to eat every green herb. 30:46 Did you get that? 30:47 The animals were to eat every green. 30:48 That means vegetables, or green plants, or grass, 30:52 that's what the animals were to eat. 30:54 God never gave us that to in beginning, did He? 30:56 He said what? 30:57 Grains, nuts, and fruit so, clear teaching of scripture 31:01 is death entered in through what? 31:04 The world through sin. 31:05 Death did what? 31:07 That God had for us, 31:08 if we do all right, we'd been obedient, 31:10 it I'll be good to last for eternity, would it not? 31:13 But now we see sin has come in, 31:15 and death came in because of sin, 31:18 because of appetite. 31:20 And there was sin in the beginning? 31:22 Appetite got them thrown out of the garden. 31:24 Appetite will get us thrown out of the kingdom. 31:27 Think about it, if we really want to balance it up here. 31:29 And again, this is one thing most people can't really do 31:32 is appetite and money, 31:34 they have difficult time to comprehend for some reason. 31:36 And we really shouldn't, 31:38 because it's so clear the way God set it up. 31:40 So notice what it says here, clear teaching and scripture 31:43 shows that God in the beginning did what? 31:46 He did not intend for man or animals 31:50 should take the life of another, 31:52 in order to feed them self. 31:54 He never intended for another animals 31:55 to kill other animals for food. 31:58 He never intended for us to kill animals for food, 32:01 because that was not in the diet to begin with. 32:03 Does that make sense? 32:05 We know things have... 32:06 Well, things have changed. 32:08 Yes, they have. Who changed them? 32:09 That's what we have to look at. 32:10 Who really changed these things? 32:12 You know, this must have been God's plan, 32:14 because I read it from the Word of God. 32:16 In Genesis 1:31, the Bible says 32:20 "Behold, it was" what? 32:22 "It was very good." 32:23 Everything God did, it says what? 32:26 "Behold, it was very good." 32:28 Now remember, those who gel, 32:30 those who want to be what God wants them to be. 32:33 This I'll be music to our ears, and just a, you know, 32:35 reminder of how God set it up, 32:37 to those who do not want to listen, 32:40 you're not going to listen anyway, we understand that. 32:42 This may be new to a lot of different ones 32:44 who view or who watch, and you'll say, 32:46 "Man, I never heard this before." 32:48 But if He use us to get back into the Word of God 32:50 and begin to read it and see what it says, 32:53 because God just simply said in Genesis 1:31, 32:56 "Behold, everything He'd done, behold, it was very good." 33:00 So I'd have to say, the diet that He chose 33:02 for mankind was very good. 33:04 Why? Because God said so. 33:06 So that makes sense, no reason for me to argue with that. 33:09 In fact, He doesn't leave it at that, 33:11 He goes on in several different verses. 33:17 In verse 4, and 10, and 12, 33:19 and 18, and 21, and 25, and 31, 33:23 God says it's very good. 33:25 So on and on, it's very good. 33:27 He didn't want Brother Mark, 33:28 or Brother Kenny, or John or somebody to say, 33:30 "Well, I didn't know it was very good. 33:33 God said "It was very good." 33:35 So when Adam and Eve then left Eden. 33:37 Man was given, remember, what was man given? 33:41 To gain for his livelihood as God said, 33:43 this is what I want you to do, I want you to go out and what? 33:45 Till the ground. 33:46 Right, when they were thrown out of the garden, 33:48 he said now you are to till the soil. 33:51 Now you are to till the ground under... 33:54 Now, remember, when they till the ground, 33:55 it was under the curse of what? 33:57 It was under the curse of sin, it wasn't just easy. 34:00 Then man received permission to eat the herbs of the field. 34:06 Then and only then, when God said, now go out 34:09 and, you now, Adam and Eve, Adam, it's what you gonna do, 34:12 you're gonna till the soil. 34:14 That wouldn't make sense to go till the soil 34:16 and plant crops and then don't eat it. 34:18 God didn't say that. 34:19 You're gonna till the soil, and now you can eat so. 34:21 Now notice that, what did He do? 34:23 Now man's diet is what? 34:25 Grains, fruits, nuts and vegetables. 34:29 Still good. 34:31 Still God for us, notice that. 34:33 Second Testimonies 352 written in 1869, 34:38 notice what it says? 34:39 "If ever there was a time when the diet should be 34:42 of the most simple kind, it is now." 34:45 Lord have mercy. 34:47 That's almost 150 years ago when things were probably, 34:52 pretty decent. 34:54 Is that okay for me to say that? 34:55 Probably it was so much better than it is today. 34:58 More in the natural state, 34:59 more the way that it should be taken in. 35:02 More it says right now, notice, the simple kind, it's now, 35:05 if there ever was a time 35:06 that diet should be the most simple, it's now. 35:09 Wow! 35:11 Seven Testimonies 125.6 says this, 35:14 "God is working in behalf of His people. 35:17 He does," notice this "He does not desire them," 35:20 Oh, my, "to be without resources." 35:24 He is bringing them back to the diet, 35:27 originally given to man. 35:30 What is God doing? 35:32 You know what? 35:33 What they say about the horse? 35:35 You can lead him to water, but you can't make him drink. 35:38 May sound a little bit goofy, but all right, listen. 35:41 This is what God has said in His Word. 35:43 Here is the diet, here is what you can eat, 35:46 this is what's best for you. 35:48 And then He goes on and says 35:50 right through the Spirit of Prophecy. 35:52 He's bringing us back to our what? 35:54 Original diet that He gave to man. 35:58 So what would that original diet be? 35:59 Well, we should know that. 36:01 In the Book of Daniel, you turn there quickly, 36:03 I'm not, can't read all of it because of our time. 36:05 But the Book of Daniel, 36:07 Daniel Chapter 1 is very interesting, 36:10 because we understand what Daniel went through. 36:12 You remember what Daniel went through? 36:14 What was he supposed to do? 36:16 He's supposed to eat the king's meat, wasn't he? 36:19 He's supposed to eat what was set before him, 36:20 but he had purposed in his heart 36:22 that he wasn't gonna do that. 36:23 Now did it work a miracle for him? 36:26 Was it good for him? 36:27 Absolutely, it worked well for him as he ate 36:30 what God had impressed him to be eating. 36:34 He comes out smarter, and stronger, and better 36:36 in person that he didn't have to eat that. 36:38 So we don't have time to read all those, 36:40 just read all of those verses and you can see 36:43 how God will bless if we follow His plan. 36:47 But see, this is all that really 36:49 basically all that is, is matter of here, 36:51 is the matter of our taste buds. 36:54 Our taste buds need to be converted. 36:56 I'm talking about myself, 36:58 I'm talking about anybody who wants to... 36:59 I'm not trying to judge anybody, 37:01 say you're doing this or doing that. 37:02 Our taste buds need to be converted 37:04 to what is most healthy for us, 37:06 so that we can be of better service for Jesus. 37:09 This is what it's really all about, 37:11 but most people would just say, I've heard people say, 37:13 "If I have to give up certain thing to eat, 37:15 I don't want to go to heaven." 37:17 Well, bless your heart, you don't know about heaven, 37:18 and evidently you don't know about God. 37:21 You don't know the Word of God. 37:22 You don't have a Christian experience, 37:23 when we make comments like that. 37:25 Bless their hearts, they may be in ignorance, 37:27 you know, to the Word of God. 37:29 And they're saying it out of ignorance, 37:30 I'd say not knowing. 37:32 But who would really say that, well if I have to give this up, 37:34 I don't want to go to heaven. 37:37 Yeah. 37:38 Interesting, what people's thoughts are. 37:41 You know, surely God is better, right? 37:42 His thoughts are better than ours. 37:44 His ways are not our ways. 37:46 Four Testimonies, page 515, moving along quickly, 516. 37:50 Four T, 515 and 516. 37:53 Talking about, we're just reading about 37:55 in Daniel Chapter 1 about the eating and so on. 37:58 Says, "Daniel's clearness of mind 38:00 and firmness of purpose, 38:02 his strength and intellect in acquiring knowledge 38:05 were due to a great degree to the plainness of his diet 38:10 and connection with a life of prayer." 38:13 Two things, keen, sharp, 38:16 put in the high position of a ruler, right? 38:18 As taken into captivity, think about, 38:20 that's impossible with man. 38:22 But God elevated him up. 38:24 His strength, and his intellect, 38:25 his knowledge was due basically through what? 38:28 His diet. 38:30 And his prayer and communion with God, 38:32 so we need certainly, them both. 38:34 This is a powerful statement, 38:35 I don't want you to miss this right here, 38:37 'cause we want to try to balance it up, 38:39 a powerful statement. 38:40 It's found in Review and Herald, 38:43 May 27, 1902. 38:45 Notice this. 38:46 My wife and I've talked about this a lot, 38:48 see what you think about this. 38:50 "Shall we who have had such great opportunities 38:53 allow the people of the world to go in advance of us 38:58 in health reform?" 39:00 I'm here today, say, they have. 39:02 The world... 39:04 Because we would not do our job, 39:07 which we should have, God gave it to Israel, 39:09 God gave it to the Jews, God gave this health message 39:12 to the last-day church that the world 39:14 is ahead of us now in health reform. 39:18 All you've to do is to be studying 39:19 and reading some of the things that we see 39:21 and we hear all the time. 39:22 They may be still sort of 39:24 fighting the clean, and the unclean. 39:25 Some of the stuff is unbelievable 39:26 that have out there that we're not approaching. 39:28 Notice this, "Shall we who have had such great opportunities 39:31 allow the people of the world to go advance of us 39:34 in health reform? 39:36 Shall we cheapen our minds and abuse our talents 39:39 by wrong eating?" 39:42 Wow, that's pretty heavy. 39:44 Again a challenge, Second Testimonies 400, 39:48 "All who are partakers of divine nature." 39:51 So if I say to you, is there anybody here, 39:53 you know, want to partake of the divine nature? 39:56 Surely all of us would say "Yes," right? 39:59 Amen. 40:00 We don't want the fleshly nature, 40:02 we want divine nature, 40:03 the nature of Christ, isn't it right? 40:05 If we're going to repopulate heaven, 40:07 we need the nature of Jesus Christ here. 40:09 So "All who are partakers of divine nature..." 40:11 I assume all of us here, raise your hand. 40:13 "Yes Lord. 40:15 Yes, yes, yes, I want double potion. 40:18 Give me that nature." Amen. 40:20 Notice, "Will escape, 40:22 if you do will escape the corruption 40:24 that is in the world through lust." 40:28 That's of course you find in 2 Peter 1:4, 40:30 but notice it is impossible, here's where it gets down. 40:33 Here's where the rubber meets the road. 40:35 Here's where it really gets touchy. 40:37 Here's where it upsets some people, 40:39 I don't know why that it should. 40:42 Either determined by the grace of God to do it, or I don't, 40:44 how about you? 40:46 Either purpose, and we've asked purpose in our heart, 40:48 "Lord, I want to follow You. 40:50 I know Your way is the best. 40:51 I submit to Your authority." 40:53 There's nothing wrong with that, I submit to God. 40:56 You don't have to submit to mankind. 40:58 Submit to God, because He knows best. 41:01 You say, "Well, yeah, 41:03 I've lived quite a while, I'm done. 41:04 Look how much better you could have been, 41:06 if you just follow the plan, that'd still be a plus. 41:09 Okay, if you lived to be 150 or 500, 41:12 you can live longer if you follow God's plan. 41:14 I think you get the point. 41:16 Notice what is says, "It is impossible..." 41:18 I've marked the word, 41:20 "It is impossible for those who indulge the appetite." 41:23 It is impossible for those who do what? 41:25 "Who indulge the appetite 41:27 to attain to Christian perfection." 41:30 Now, that's pretty heavy duty, but we need it. 41:35 But it's not a subject most people are interested in. 41:38 Most people don't want to hear about. 41:40 But you realize, we can't... 41:42 Oh! Lord have mercy, can't we realize what was lost 41:46 in the Garden of Eden because of appetite. 41:49 Look at this world and the mess that we're in. 41:53 Look at the billions of people that died, look at the rash, 41:56 look at the mess that's going on 41:57 in the world today. 41:58 And it can be traced back 42:00 because they made a wrong decision 42:01 about appetite. 42:03 The Spirit of Prophecy says, 42:05 they made a wrong choice on appetite 42:06 and they weren't even hungry. 42:08 Somebody stay with me. 42:11 You can almost say, somebody is starving to death, 42:13 look out, you know, but there's still no excuse, 42:15 but you know what I mean. 42:17 Spirit of Prophecy says that was the least test 42:20 that God could've given them, and they failed it. 42:25 And look at us today, when the least... 42:27 Just a matter of umm, that tastes good, 42:29 smells good so, but it's not good. 42:32 And it is proven by the world that it's not good. 42:34 God already said that it wasn't good. 42:36 Notice this, if we do this thing, 42:38 indulge the appetite, 42:40 we cannot attain to Christian perfection. 42:42 And without that, heaven will never be our home. 42:48 Heaven will never be our home. 42:52 It has to deal, I mean, how often, 42:54 as the world said you are what you eat. 42:57 Isn't that what you heard from the world? 42:59 Even before you know, you say, well, you're an Adventist, 43:01 you know before that. 43:03 You are what you eat, here's what you become. 43:05 Whatever you eat that's what you become like. 43:08 And it's proven to be a fact. 43:10 What you feed upon spiritually is what you become like. 43:14 What you behold, what you become like. 43:19 Let's kind of get down to the nitty-gritty, 43:21 nail it down, I love to nail things down, 43:22 so there's just no confusion. 43:24 Little article in Youth instructor 43:27 in 531, 1894 says this, 43:29 "Eating and drinking, and dressing 43:33 have a direct bearing 43:35 upon our spiritual advancement." 43:38 How we dress has a bearing on our advancement. 43:43 What we drink has a bearing. 43:44 What we eat has a bearing. 43:46 Eat and drink. 43:47 Proverbs 9:10 says, "The fear of the Lord is the," 43:52 come on someone say beginning, "is the beginning of wisdom." 43:55 The fear of what? 43:57 The fear of the Lord on this subject 43:59 is the beginning of wisdom. 44:00 If not, we're gonna find our self short. 44:03 This is what the Bible said, we find our self short. 44:05 And we realize some of these things are progressive here, 44:07 we need to learn them, 44:09 we need to become acquainted with them 44:10 and, you know, I implore you to have mercy 44:11 for those who have never understood the health message. 44:14 But for those of us who understood it. 44:16 You know, lot of time people say," 44:17 Well, don't give the message 44:19 because it's gonna offend those who never have." 44:20 We need to know, 'cause we heard it for so long 44:22 and yet we neglected it. 44:24 Then may God help us and call us back. 44:27 Three Testimonies 491 and 492 says this, 44:30 "The controlling power of the appetite 44:33 will prove the ruin of thousands, 44:36 when, if they had conquered on this point, 44:39 they would have had moral power to gain victory 44:42 over every other temptation of Satan." 44:46 If just in our appetite, by the grace of our God, 44:49 help me to do the right thing. 44:51 It's not easy to do the right thing. 44:52 No one said, it's easy to do the right thing. 44:56 If I go by and I see a candy bar on one 45:00 and an apple on the other my Tenzi goes to the candy bar. 45:05 Is that all right? 45:07 But I don't choose the candy bar, 45:09 you see, the difference, 45:10 the humanness wants the stuff that's not good. 45:13 There's a choice there, I have to make that choice. 45:17 And I'm going to either be blessed, 45:18 by making the right choice or it might be a curse 45:21 in the long run, if you see what I'm talking about. 45:23 2 Corinthians 7:1, eight minutes or so left, 45:25 notice, "Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, 45:28 let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness," 45:31 notice this, "of the flesh and spirit, 45:34 perfecting holiness in the fear of God." 45:38 Think about that, Counsels on Diet and Food, 118, 45:41 notice this, "When men take any course," when men do what? 45:46 "Take any course needlessly expends their vitality 45:50 or beclouds their intellect, they sin against God, 45:54 they do not glorify Him in their body 45:57 and spirit which are His." 45:59 Did you get it? 46:00 When we take any course 46:02 that needlessly expends our vitality. 46:05 Some need to think on that. 46:06 Doing things as eating us up. 46:09 Doing the wrong thing, mentally, physically, 46:10 whatever it might be. 46:12 And then notice right here, that we sin against what? 46:14 That's something that beclouds the intellect. 46:16 I know if I drink this, it kind beclouds in my mind, 46:19 and if I eat this, it beclouds in my mind. 46:20 We sin against God 46:21 is what the Spirit of Prophecy says. 46:24 Something we need to really look at closely, real closely. 46:28 Same page Counsel on Diets on page 118, notice this, 46:32 "A continual transgression of nature's laws 46:36 is a continual transgression of the law of God." 46:41 What is it now? 46:43 Notice, a continuum, they say, well, I didn't want, 46:46 let's balance it up church, come on. 46:49 Continue doing that which you know 46:51 you should not be doing. 46:53 Nature said, 46:54 it's a transgression of the law of God. 46:56 That's pretty heavy duty. 46:58 Make it heavy on my mind. 46:59 I want to be heavy on yours. 47:01 1 Corinthians 6:19 and 20, very familiar. 47:03 Again it tells us this, "The body is the temple," 47:06 of the what? 47:07 "Of the Holy Ghost. 47:09 We are bought with a price, therefore glorify God" where? 47:12 "In your body, and in your spirit, 47:14 which are God's." 47:15 If you just come to this point, you are not your own. 47:18 You are bought with a price. 47:19 We glorify God, right, by letting Him come in 47:22 through the spirit, and live in us. 47:23 To help us make the right choice or decision 47:26 'cause I tell you, my brothers and sisters, 47:27 you can't do, I can't do it on my own. 47:29 I can't do it on my own, it's a challenge every day. 47:32 See, this verse tells me this, quickly. 47:34 Whether you are a believer 47:36 or whether you are an unbeliever, 47:38 all men are the Lord's property. 47:41 Now, I mean, all men are the Lord's property. 47:43 We're all called for service, you know that, for God and man. 47:48 And the day will come when we must render an account 47:50 to God for things that are done, where? 47:52 In this body. 47:54 You read that, Romans 2:6, 47:56 we're gonna have to give an account. 47:58 Ephesians 4: 22 through 24, 48:01 "That ye put off concerning 48:02 the former conversation of the old man," 48:05 too much of the old man here, notice this, 48:07 "which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts." 48:10 Ephesians 4:23, notice this, 48:12 "And be renewed in the spirit of your mind." 48:15 Let the mind be what? Renewed. 48:17 Renewed, we need to renew here. 48:19 We need to come back to God. 48:21 Verse 24, "And that ye put on the new man," I like this, 48:26 "which after God is created in righteousness 48:29 and true holiness." 48:30 Notice that. 48:31 Health and nutrition is bigger and more important 48:33 than most people think. 48:35 God is calling us back to Eden. 48:38 He's calling us back to His original diet. 48:41 So we can better be used in His service. 48:44 Plus be healthy, plus be happy. 48:48 Many don't understand the importance of this. 48:50 And I'm begging and pleading, at least, let think about this. 48:53 They are not convinced 48:55 on God's plan of eating and drinking. 48:58 And, you know, someone's asked a question, 49:01 some ask the question, 49:02 "Well, when did God give permission to eat flesh?" 49:04 Let's just use that quickly in our last five minutes. 49:06 When did God give permission to eat flesh? 49:08 When we know it was not till after what? 49:10 Flood. 49:11 Not till after the flood, you remember that. 49:13 When all the green was destroyed, 49:14 there was nothing left to eat. 49:17 And again, when God did, He made in the very beginning, 49:19 He made a distinction between the clean and the unclean. 49:22 Notice that. 49:23 In the beginning. 49:25 In the beginning the Lord showed man in Eden, 49:28 which diet is best, is that good? 49:29 Let's sum it up. 49:31 In the very beginning what? 49:32 God showed man, what was the best diet for him. 49:35 As He travelled along, He thought Israel, 49:37 you remember the same lesson. 49:39 When they left Egypt, you remember that? 49:41 He provided manna, the bread of heaven for them. 49:44 They desired a flesh diet 49:46 and they suffered the consequences. 49:48 They reaped the benefit and the un-benefit, 49:50 you would say, 49:52 nothing good happened, except they died. 49:55 They wanted a diet that God did not give them. 49:59 Reformed diet should be progressive. 50:01 Some of you are trying to change and make, 50:03 you know, may be vegetarian without meat, it's progressive. 50:06 Keep that in mind. 50:07 Diseases entered in the world, why? 50:09 Because the diseases of animal is progressing along kingdom. 50:12 It's increasing. 50:14 They are becoming more and more unsafe to eat, 50:16 which leads us to this point. 50:18 Should we, or at this time, to give up flesh food. 50:22 Is it time that we really give up flesh food? 50:24 We want to be healthy. 50:26 Nutrition, we want to be best for the King. 50:30 We want to be used by God. 50:32 I think we need to look at it closely. 50:34 Someone asked, I think it was last week. 50:36 We talked about a certain quote about meat eating. 50:40 I'll share with you here and for all of us to consider. 50:43 This is found in the Christian Temperance 50:46 and Bible Hygiene, 1890, notice what it says simply. 50:49 "Among those who are waiting for the coming of the Lord..." 50:52 Is there anyone waiting for the coming of the Lord? 50:54 See we all can agree with that. 50:55 Well, yes, Lord. 50:58 "Meat-eating will eventually be done away, 51:01 flesh will cease to be form of a part of our diet." 51:05 Now that's pretty simple to me. 51:07 For those who know, 51:08 bless your heart for those of you who don't, 51:10 I'm not trying to lay too much on you, 51:11 but those of you who know. 51:13 Did you get that? Did you get that? 51:14 "If you're waiting for the Lord to come," yes, I am. 51:16 "Meat-eating will eventually be done away, 51:19 flesh will cease to be form of the diet 51:21 because it's too diseased nowadays. 51:23 Yes, God said, this is clean, and you could years ago. 51:26 What has happened to the meat? 51:27 What's happened to the chicken? What's happened to the cow? 51:30 Oh! It's contaminated, it's diseased right now. 51:33 Cancer and tumor and all these things 51:34 come from that. 51:36 Manuscript quickly 115, 1903, 51:40 "Not an ounce of flesh meat should enter our stomachs. 51:43 The eating of flesh is unnatural. 51:46 We are to return to God's original purpose 51:48 in the creation of man." 51:50 We're to do what? 51:52 We're to return to what the creator set up 51:54 in the beginning. 51:55 Not an ounce of it should be in our stomachs. 51:57 It's unnatural. 51:59 Review and Herald, May 27, 1902 52:02 "There are those who ought to be awake 52:03 to the danger of meat eating," Are you still with me? 52:06 "Who are still eating the flesh of animals, 52:09 thus endangering the physical, mental, and spiritual health. 52:14 Oh! Listen, now somebody listen. 52:17 "Many who are now only half converted 52:20 on the question of meat eating will go from God's people, 52:24 to walk no more with them." 52:27 That's just about as plain as it can get. 52:29 They're going to live, half converted on it, 52:31 "Well, maybe I should, maybe I shouldn't." 52:32 Time will come, if you don't get, 52:34 you're not going to able to walk 52:35 with God's people anymore. 52:37 Last one, Manuscript 3, 1897, 52:39 "The meat diet is the serious question. 52:43 Shall human beings live on the flesh of dead animals? 52:46 She answers, "The answer, from the light 52:49 that God has given me 52:51 is, No, decidedly no." 52:57 I could read quote, quote, quote, quote, 52:59 dozen, dozen, dozen, dozen of those same thing 53:01 and somehow, we've overlooked those things. 53:06 The scripture is clear on it. 53:08 The Spirit of Prophecy is clear on it. 53:11 Listen from the light that God has given me, she says, 53:15 it should not be part of our diet. 53:17 It's too diseased. 53:19 You think you're getting away with it, 53:20 but time will come, you'll see. 53:22 The blessings of God will come as we are obedient to Him. 53:26 You want health, and happiness, and good nutrition. 53:30 We start and go back to the beginning, 53:32 as God has said. 53:34 Some of you are making a decision 53:35 to do that right now, I know that you are, 53:36 I'm gonna pray for you before we close out our time. 53:38 Would you just pray with me right now? 53:40 Some need some prayer because they need some help, 53:42 special help, right now. 53:44 Father in heaven, we thank You in the name of Jesus 53:45 for Your Word, cleared, straight pointed, 53:47 praying for those who are making 53:49 that decision right now, they realize they want to 53:51 correct their diet, they want a change, 53:53 they want a reformation, only You can give them that. 53:55 And I pray that You'd put that on their heart and mind 53:57 and give them victory, and I'm gonna thank you 53:59 in advance in Jesus' name, 54:00 amen. 54:02 We thank you for joining us here at Behold the Lamb 54:04 and we do again, once again thank you 54:05 for your cards, and your letters, 54:07 your prayers, and your support. 54:08 God bless you and we look forward to seeing you 54:11 next time. 54:14 Hello and welcome back, friends. 54:16 You know, in 1 Corinthians 6:19, 54:20 I' m gonna read you what the Bible says. 54:23 It says, "What? 54:24 Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost 54:28 which is in you, which ye have of God, 54:31 and ye are not your own?" 54:34 Brothers and sisters, 54:35 we've all been bought with a price. 54:37 We belong to our heavenly Father, if we just choose to. 54:41 He wants you. 54:42 He's calling you and He wants to share His love 54:46 in and through you. 54:47 And part of that is knowing about health, 54:50 knowing about nutrition. 54:51 You know, we live in a world, 54:53 there's so many people that are so sick 54:56 and we have concerns even about our food. 54:58 We have concerns about our water. 55:00 And the good news is, we can go back to the Bible. 55:03 We can see how God set it up in the beginning. 55:06 And we can begin to align our lives closer and closer 55:11 to how the potter made it to be. 55:14 So that our bodies would be strong and healthy 55:16 and that the Holy Spirit can come in and renew our mind 55:21 and renew our heart, 55:22 so that we can be stronger and healthier 55:25 for Him to work in and through us. 55:27 If you would like to have this single DVD message. 55:31 It is entitled again, "Health and Nutrition." 55:33 We're also going to send with it, 55:35 "Sharing God's Love, What the Bible Says." 55:38 It has 25 wonderful Bible studies and in the back, 55:42 it also has many, many, many passages 55:45 of wonderful Bible stories that you can look through 55:48 and read over and over. 55:51 In fact you can take these and give them away, 55:53 like the leaves of autumn. 55:55 And if you would like to have just this one message, 55:58 we're going to give it to you 56:00 for a love gift of just $8 or more. 56:04 However, I've not said anything about a whole bundle. 56:08 But there will be 25 Bible studies, 56:12 by the time we are finished. 56:13 I had to stop and think for a moment, but there are 25. 56:17 And if you would like to have that wonderful set, 56:20 if you pay $8, if you gave a love gift of just $8 56:24 that would come up to $200 for all 25. 56:27 But we're gonna offer them to you for a love gift 56:29 of just $175 for all 25. 56:34 You can use them in your Bible services at church 56:38 for Wednesday Night Bible Study or something. 56:40 Or have people come into your home 56:42 and go through an hour lesson, step by step, 56:46 covering all of these lessons together. 56:49 And I hope you'll get encouraged 56:50 to want to share with others what the Bible says. 56:54 If you would like to order the single or all 25, 56:58 you may do so by calling us 57:00 here at Behold the Lamb Ministries 57:02 at area code (618) 942-5044, 57:07 that is Central Standard Time in the United States 57:10 or you can email us at 57:13 BeholdTheLambMinistries @yahoo.com 57:16 or please visit us on our website 57:18 that's www.BeholdTheLambMinistries.com 57:22 You can order through PayPal on our website. 57:25 We want to hear from you. 57:27 We love your cards.
