00:38 Hello and welcome to Behold the Lamb Ministries.
00:41 We're so thankful and glad that you are joining us here 00:44 during this time of worship. 00:46 And we are here in God's house 00:47 and we are worshiping the Lord. 00:49 Amen? 00:50 Praise the Lord. 00:51 We're going to continue on. 00:53 In case you don't know who I am, I'm Ryan Day. 00:54 I'm a guest here this morning. 00:56 Brother Kenny and Sister Chris have invited us to come here 00:59 and minister to you today and it's a blessing to be here 01:01 in God's house on the Sabbath day 01:03 to give praises to Him 01:05 because He is a God worthy of praise. 01:06 Amen? Amen. 01:08 I guess I should introduce who's on stage here with me. 01:10 I'll start to my left, 01:11 because you're going to see this gentleman 01:13 in just a moment. 01:14 But my brother Dakota Day, 01:16 he is with Amazing Facts Ministries, 01:17 he's in a full-time evangelist. 01:19 And he is here to deliver the Word of God this morning. 01:21 And you will hear him in just a moment. 01:24 If you have your Bibles, 01:26 open up to 2 Corinthians Chapter 13 01:27 and we're going to go to verse 1. 01:29 2 Corinthians Chapter 13 01:31 and we're going to look at verse 1. 01:33 Now, this is a very important scripture, 01:35 because this is going to set the stage for our study 01:37 and our biblical journey 01:39 that we're going to be taking this morning. 01:41 Notice what it says here, and the Word of God says, 01:42 "This is the third time I am coming to you. 01:45 In the mouth of," how many? 01:47 "Two or" at most by what? 01:49 "Three, every word shall be," what? 01:52 "Established." Right two or three. 01:54 Now God does many things in scriptures 01:56 by twos and by threes, right? 01:58 And when He says 01:59 that every word will be established, 02:01 what does He really mean here is that 02:02 we have examples in Scripture 02:05 that God has given us by two or three 02:06 that we might be able to actually be ready 02:08 for what's coming 02:10 that we might have warnings 02:11 of what's coming soon to planet earth. 02:13 We see in Revelation Chapter 14, 02:15 a three angels' messages, 02:16 right? 02:18 Followed by another angel's message 02:19 in Revelation 18, 02:21 which is "Come out of Babylon, 02:22 come out of her, my people, " right? 02:24 It's talking about a reform that we as God's people, 02:27 well, remember he says, Come out of her who? 02:29 My people. 02:31 God has people 02:32 who are not of this specific fold per Se, 02:35 but they are His people. 02:36 Can somebody say amen? 02:38 And He is calling His people together 02:40 that we might be ready for His appearing. 02:43 And so, my friends, this morning, 02:45 in the mouth of two or three, 02:47 we are going to hear a very interesting and very, 02:50 must I say paramount warning 02:52 for us to understand 02:53 as we press forward in these last days. 02:55 So let's open our Bibles. 02:56 We're going to go to Luke Chapter 17. 02:59 We're going to go to Luke Chapter 17. 03:01 And we're going to read a very, very important warning, 03:05 and very imperative warning in Luke 17, 03:07 dealing with the two types of the remnant. 03:09 And we're going to read 03:11 about the first type of the remnant, 03:12 Luke Chapter 17, 03:14 we're going to begin in verse 26. 03:15 Are we there, saints? 03:16 "And as it was in the days of Noah, 03:18 so shall it be 03:19 also in the days of the Son of man." 03:21 Now who's the Son of Man that He's speaking of here? 03:23 He's speaking of Himself, right? 03:24 He oftentimes referred to Himself 03:25 as the Son of Man, 03:27 because one of the most marvelous events 03:28 that has ever taken place in history 03:30 that in my opinion 03:31 has ever taken place in history 03:32 is that the Son of God, my friends, 03:34 became the Son of Man. 03:36 Can we say amen? 03:37 That's powerful to think 03:38 that God laid aside all of His attributes, 03:41 His omniscience, His omnipresence, 03:43 His omnipotence, 03:45 that He might become like unto sinful flesh, 03:47 the Bible says. 03:48 That's a marvelous thing to ponder. 03:50 And, my friends, 03:51 that's something we will be studying 03:52 throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity. 03:54 And so notice, it says, as it was in the days of Noah, 04:01 now do we know about the days of Noah? 04:02 Uh-huh. 04:03 We're going to look at it again though 04:05 and refresh our minds. 04:06 So shall it be 04:08 also in the days of the Son of Man, 04:09 speaking of His second coming, 04:10 His second advent. 04:12 And then notice what He says in verse 27. 04:13 They, speaking of those people, 04:14 "They did eat, they drink, they married wives, 04:16 they were given in marriage 04:17 until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 04:19 and the flood came and destroyed them all." 04:22 He's saying, listen, 04:23 He's comparing His Second Coming 04:24 to the days of who? 04:26 Noah, that they married, they were given in marriage, 04:28 they ate and they drink. 04:30 In other words, 04:31 they were not fasting and praying. 04:32 They were not seeking God for such a time as that. 04:35 When the word went forth from Noah 04:37 that they need to be in the ark 04:38 because God said, "My spirit 04:40 shall not always strive with man, 04:41 for his days are 120." 04:44 So we had 120 years Noah preached the gospel, 04:47 he preached the message of salvation 04:49 to a wicked and dying and sinful world. 04:51 And the message was that 04:53 you need to be in the ark of salvation. 04:54 Can we say amen? 04:56 That's the message he delivered to them. 04:57 And Jesus says, listen, 04:58 as it was in the days of Noah 05:00 so shall it be when the coming of the Son of Man be. 05:02 So, my friends, 05:03 I want to encourage you this morning, 05:05 that we really understand 05:06 what Jesus is saying and how He's comparing 05:08 these two types of the remnant this morning. 05:10 Because if we do not pay attention to this message, 05:13 you may well be a type of the remnant, 05:16 but not the type of the remnant 05:18 that would be the best type to be a part. 05:19 Amen? 05:21 Well, you're going to look 05:22 at what I'm saying in just a bit. 05:23 So what we see here He's saying is to life goes on. 05:25 They were eating, drinking, marrying, 05:27 giving in marriage 05:28 until the very day that Noah entered into the ark 05:30 and the flood came and destroyed them all. 05:32 Now, let's go back to Genesis Chapter 6, 05:35 and let's remind ourselves of the flood, okay? 05:37 It's very important 05:38 that we remind ourselves of what happened 05:40 because if Jesus is comparing His Second Coming 05:42 to the days of Noah, 05:43 then we need to be familiar with what's going on 05:45 in the days of Noah, what do you say? 05:46 Right. 05:48 All right, notice what it says here. 05:49 Genesis Chapter 6, 05:50 we're going to pick it up in verse 1. 05:52 It says, "And it came to pass, 05:54 when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, 05:57 daughters were born unto them." 05:59 Now, let's pick it up in verse 2, it says, 06:01 "That the sons of God saw the daughters," of who, 06:05 "of men that they were fair, 06:08 and they took them wives of all which they chose." 06:11 Now, I wanna to stop there for a moment. 06:12 And I just want to unpack what's being said here, 06:14 because, my friends, listen to me, 06:15 there are a lot of diabolical and erroneous teachings 06:18 circling the Christian world, 06:21 concerning this scripture and this understanding here 06:23 of the scripture. 06:25 Many people are misunderstanding this text. 06:26 And while this is not my main point of the message, 06:29 I want to take time to unpack this 06:30 and make sense of this 06:32 so that you won't be deceived by anybody 06:33 that's teaching erroneous doctrines on this. 06:36 So when it says that the sons of God saw 06:38 the daughters of men that they were fair, 06:39 and that they took the wives of all of which they chose. 06:41 This is the primary reason why the flood happened. 06:45 Are we together? 06:47 You say, well, how so? 06:48 Because it says that the sons of God 06:50 saw the daughters of men 06:51 and they took them wives of all which they chose. 06:52 Notice it didn't say the daughters of God. 06:55 It said the daughters of who? 06:56 Men. 06:58 Sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair. 07:01 And let me explain what happened. 07:03 A lot of people in Christianity today, 07:05 they think when they see the Sons of God, 07:07 there's this erroneous teaching, 07:09 referred to oftentimes as Nephilim. 07:11 How many of you ever heard this before, Nephilim? 07:13 What this teaching is saying is that the sons of God, 07:17 it represents these fallen angels 07:19 that was cast out of heaven 07:21 that we read about in Revelation Chapter 12. 07:23 And that they had sexual relations 07:25 with Adam and Eve and their descendants, 07:29 and that's how giants were born. 07:30 You've heard this before, right? 07:32 And where they get the term Nephilim from 07:34 is the word giants, 07:36 where it talks about giants being on the earth 07:37 in those days. 07:38 This is where they talk about this Nephilim teaching, 07:40 that is a very erroneous 07:41 and diabolical doctrine, my friends. 07:43 Are we together? 07:44 Now, there's no biblical proof 07:45 whatsoever that fallen angels can procreate. 07:48 It's all assumed and it's all speculation 07:51 when people teach such a doctrine, 07:53 but we do have biblical scripture this morning 07:55 about who the sons of God are. 07:57 When you go to... 07:58 You don't have to turn there for the sake of time, 08:00 but you can go and read it if you'd like to. 08:02 When you go to Romans 8:14, 08:04 it says that the sons of God 08:07 are only those who are led by the Spirit of God. 08:11 Are we together, my friends? 08:12 So you can only be, I have a title of a son of God, 08:15 if you're led by the Spirit of God. 08:17 That's Romans 8:14. 08:19 So, my friends, 08:20 these sons of God could not be fallen angels, 08:22 can somebody say amen? 08:23 Could not be fallen angels. 08:25 I mean, that's ridiculous for there 08:27 to be fallen angels who are different, 08:29 complete different beings than us 08:31 powerful, beyond our power, and to have sexual relations. 08:34 There's just no biblical evidence for that. 08:36 But this is what people are teaching. 08:37 And these are one of the many, very many winds of doctrine 08:40 that are blowing around on the earth today. 08:42 But that's not the point of this study. 08:43 I want you to understand 08:44 that the sons of God 08:46 are speaking of Seth's descendants. 08:49 Are we together? 08:50 Who replaced Abel after Abel's death, 08:53 Cain killed Abel, right? 08:54 And who replaced Abel? 08:56 Seth, right? 08:57 And so, Seth represented the righteous seed 09:00 by which Jesus Christ would come, 09:03 the Lamb of God. 09:04 So then you have, 09:05 then you have the unrighteous seed, 09:07 now who became the father of the unrighteous seed? 09:11 Cain. 09:12 Are we together, beloved? 09:13 In other words, 09:15 God has a people on planet earth that are His, 09:17 but Satan also has a people 09:19 that He's claiming to be his 09:20 because what, now you may be thinking what? 09:23 You mean, Satan has people? 09:25 Oh, yes, my friends. 09:26 Go read James 4:4. 09:27 The Word of God tells us in James 4:4, 09:30 it says that as many make themselves friends 09:33 with the world, 09:34 they are enemies of God, 09:36 Are we together, beloved? 09:38 So if we make ourselves friends with the world, 09:40 we make ourselves enemies of God. 09:43 Now, is Satan one of God's enemies? 09:45 You better believe it. 09:47 Now, does God even love His enemies? 09:48 Yes. 09:50 So don't misunderstand. 09:51 God doesn't hate in the sense as we hate, 09:53 you know, He hates the sin but He loves the what? 09:56 The sinner. Amen? 09:58 Amen. 09:59 So what we see here is that the sons of God 10:01 is speaking of Seth's descendants. 10:03 They looked over at Cain's descendants, 10:05 the daughters of men. 10:07 Notice, they're not the daughters of God. 10:08 They can't have that title 10:09 because in order to be a daughter or a man of God, 10:12 you have to be led by the Spirit of God. 10:13 Amen? 10:15 So they look over there 10:16 and they saw the daughters of men, 10:17 it says that they were fair. 10:19 Now turn over your Bibles to Genesis Chapter 4. 10:20 We're going to go there briefly, 10:22 Genesis Chapter 4. 10:23 And we're going to look at a quick little story 10:24 of what happened here. 10:26 So if you know the story of Cain, 10:27 Cain left the presence of God, right, on his own accord. 10:30 God did not ask Cain to leave his presence. 10:32 But what happened there was this little sacrificial, 10:36 I guess you could say offering 10:38 that Abel and Cain had made to God. 10:40 Abel's offering was accepted 10:42 while Cain's offering was rejected, wasn't it? 10:44 Now, why was Abel's offering accepted? 10:48 Are you ready for this? Check this out. 10:49 Abel's offering was accepted 10:51 because he was not bringing his own works to God. 10:56 Come on, somebody say amen. 10:58 He was not bringing his own works 11:00 to God as a sacrifice. 11:02 What he brought to God was what God had done, a lamb. 11:08 He had nothing to do with that lamb 11:09 other than he just brought it. 11:11 Are we together, beloved? 11:13 And then what did Cain bring? 11:16 His fruits and his vegetables? 11:18 Come on somebody. 11:19 Now we in the Adventist Church, 11:21 we love some fruits and vegetables, don't we? 11:24 But you know, what I've noticed is that 11:25 when you go to potlucks in the Adventist Church 11:27 and many other churches as well, 11:28 but specifically more of the Adventist churches, 11:30 you have people that are very proud 11:32 of their vegetables. 11:34 Ever met these people? 11:36 They show up at the potluck, and they're like, 11:37 "Oh, God, wait till you see my tomatoes." 11:41 Ah, and they start telling you everything they did, right? 11:44 You would think 11:46 that they did something real special, 11:48 but that's how gardening sometimes makes us feel, it's, 11:50 we did that, right? 11:52 I mean, really, 11:54 the miracle was that God did that. 11:56 But sometimes we try to take what God done 11:58 and we try to make it out like we did that. 12:00 Just because we kept the weeds away 12:02 and we watered it whenever it didn't rain 12:03 and things we think we did that. 12:06 Are we together? 12:07 And we come in, 12:09 whoo, look at my carrots and look at my... 12:11 Oh, my purple whole peas 12:13 and we like to brag about these things, right? 12:15 But, my friends, 12:16 Cain brought his own works 12:18 of what he had tilled the ground. 12:19 He's like, "Here, Lord." 12:21 Look, and I'm sure they were beautiful tomatoes. 12:23 I'm sure they were beautiful carrots 12:24 and beautiful, all sorts of vegetables. 12:27 But God looks at that and He says, 12:28 "That's not acceptable." 12:31 See, because you can't add to what God does. 12:35 Can we say amen? 12:36 Amen. 12:38 And so, Cain's offering was rejected 12:39 and now this made Cain very upset. 12:40 Let's pick it up. Genesis 4:16. 12:43 "And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord 12:45 and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden." 12:48 Now he left God's presence, he was very upset with God, 12:50 for God rejected Him. 12:52 It's like when you whip a child, 12:53 or you discipline a child, 12:55 they want to leave your presence, right? 12:57 They want to go to the room and slam their door. 13:00 Cain separates himself from God 13:02 and Cain knew his wife 13:04 and it starts to talk about Cain's lineage. 13:05 He knew his wife 13:06 and she conceived and bear Enoch, 13:08 and he builded a city and called the name of the city 13:10 after the name of his son Enoch. 13:12 "And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: 13:14 Mehujael begat Methusael: Methusael begat Lamech." 13:17 Now check it out, verse 19, 13:18 "And Lamech took unto him two wives: 13:21 the name of the one was Adah, 13:22 and the name of the other was Zillah." 13:23 So when you look up the names of these two wives, 13:26 it's very interesting. 13:27 Friend of mine, Carlos Munoz 13:28 shared this with me and my brother 13:30 few years ago, powerful. 13:32 The names of his wives give away the lineage of Cain 13:36 and kind of something 13:37 about the women of the lineage of Cain 13:40 and how they dressed. 13:42 Adah means ornamental jewelry. 13:46 Zillah means sensual or little clothes. 13:50 So when you see in Genesis Chapter 6, 13:52 that the sons of God, 13:54 they looked over and they saw the daughters of men 13:59 and they saw that they were fair. 14:01 In other words, the sons of God, 14:02 Seth's descendants, 14:03 they looked over one day 14:05 and they saw probably something 14:06 similar to what David saw when he saw Bathsheba. 14:09 And they said Whoo-ooh. 14:13 All right, because they saw that and they go, whoa, 14:16 those women don't dress like our women. 14:19 And they were immediately attracted 14:22 and so what they did is they began to mingle 14:25 the holy lineage of God 14:28 with the unholy lineage of Cain. 14:32 And they married wives, 14:34 as the scripture says in Genesis Chapter 6. 14:36 Now, names mean something in the Bible. 14:37 I just want to stop for a moment 14:39 and I want to break down this, this is beautiful. 14:41 You see, we should look up names in the Bible 14:42 because they actually have a story a lot of the times. 14:45 In Genesis Chapter 5, 14:47 you read about the descendants of Adam. 14:49 Remember the holy lineage, Adam's descendants. 14:52 And in Genesis Chapter 5, it's one of those, 14:54 again genealogy chapters 14:55 where we would just skip 14:56 because these are the chapters a lot of the times 14:58 that we don't know how to pronounce all the names 15:00 so we're just like, I'm just going to skip that, 15:02 doesn't matter who begot who. 15:03 Well, listen to the story of the gospel 15:06 through the names of Adam's descendants in order. 15:10 Are you ready for this? 15:11 So you have Adam, Seth, Enos, Cainan, Mahalaleel, Jared, 15:16 Enoch, Methuselah, and Lamech, and Noah. 15:20 Listen to their names in translation. 15:22 Adam means man. 15:24 He's a very first man God ever made. 15:25 Adam means man. 15:27 Seth means appointed. 15:29 Enos means wretched. 15:30 Cainan means lamenting. 15:33 Mahalaleel, El means God, 15:35 but Mahalaleel means the blessed God. 15:38 And then notice what Jared means shall descend. 15:44 Shall descend. 15:46 Enoch means dedicated. 15:48 Methuselah, his whole life was about 15:50 the prophecy of the flood, 15:51 his name Methuselah means his death shall bring. 15:56 Lamaeh means power, 15:58 and Noah means rest and comfort. 16:00 So are you ready to hear them in order? 16:02 You guys look not ready. 16:03 I'm just going to be honest with you. 16:05 Are you ready to hear them in order? 16:06 Listen to the gospel message in the genealogies of Adam. 16:09 Man appointed, wretched and lamenting, 16:13 the blessed God shall descend, 16:18 shall descend, dedicated, 16:21 his death shall bring power, rest and comfort. 16:26 Can somebody say amen? 16:28 That's powerful. 16:29 So what we see is that names mean something. 16:30 And so when we read that, 16:32 we read about why the flood happened 16:34 is because these women were dressed very unholy 16:37 rather than covering up, right? 16:39 And so, in Genesis 6, 16:41 we read here going on about this story 16:43 with the sons of God saw the daughters of men 16:45 that they were fair, 16:46 that they took them wives of all of which they chose. 16:47 Verse 3 in Genesis Chapter 6, 16:49 "And the Lord said, 16:50 'My spirit shall not always strive 16:51 with man.'" 16:53 So notice, as soon as there was this mingling 16:54 between the profane and the holy, 16:57 God seen automatically what was going to happen. 17:00 He was like, they've perverted my seed. 17:03 And now, you know, 17:05 a lot of times we do this in church. 17:06 God forbid, 17:08 churches are doing this nowadays. 17:09 They think if we want to win over the young people, 17:12 then we need to bring some of the world 17:14 into the church. 17:16 Bring in these trampolines and these big gymnasiums 17:19 and all these you know, games and stuff, 17:21 and then we'll have the young people there. 17:23 And once we get them there, 17:24 then we'll share Jesus with them. 17:26 Beloved, listen to me, 17:27 if you have to throw a circus every single time 17:29 to get young people to come to church, 17:31 then they're going to expect a circus every time 17:33 and the reason why they're coming 17:34 is not because of Jesus, 17:35 but because of the circus. 17:37 This is the truth. 17:38 And so, when we start trying to take that 17:39 which is holy, 17:41 and try to mingle it with that which is profane and worldly, 17:44 what do you think is going to win every time? 17:48 I've seen marriages where women and men 17:51 who are on two different sides of religion, 17:54 so to speak. 17:55 In other words, they're unequally yoked, 17:57 they come together, 17:58 one's a believer, one's not a believer 17:59 and they married because they were attracted 18:01 to one another's looks. 18:03 Do you think the holy person 18:05 most cases wins over the unholy person? 18:08 What happens most times? 18:10 It's the other way around. 18:11 And so, my friends, 18:13 there's a warning here in this message. 18:14 This is the first type of the remnant 18:16 that we're studying, 18:17 Noah in his day. 18:18 Listen to this. 18:20 It says, "And the Lord said, 'My spirit 18:21 shall not always strive with man, 18:22 for he also was flesh: 18:24 yet his day shall be an hundred and twenty years. 18:25 There were giants in the earth in those days." 18:27 Now check this out. 18:28 Notice what it says, it says, 18:29 "There were giants in the earth in those days." 18:31 Let's get back to that Nephilim idea. 18:32 And then notice what it says here, 18:33 "And also after that, " after that what? 18:35 "When the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men." 18:38 Hold up. 18:39 So there were giants first. 18:42 Then the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men. 18:45 Did you catch that? 18:46 That totally dispels the whole Nephilim teaching. 18:48 Then it says here, "They bare children to them, 18:51 the same became mighty men 18:53 which were of old, men of renown. 18:54 And God saw the wickedness of man 18:55 was great in the earth, 18:57 and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart 18:58 were only evil continually. 19:00 And it repented the Lord 19:01 that he had made man on the earth, 19:03 and it grieved him at his heart. 19:04 And the Lord said, 19:05 'I will destroy man 19:07 of whom I have created from the face of the earth, 19:08 both man, and beast, 19:10 and the creeping things and fowls of the air, 19:11 for it repenteth me that I have made them." 19:13 Now you may be thinking, why does God, 19:14 why did God say this? 19:16 Here's why? 19:17 Had God not done what He did, 19:18 Noah and his family would have become 19:20 perverted eventually. 19:21 And guess what? 19:22 God would have had no righteous seed 19:24 to save humanity. 19:26 It's true. 19:27 So check this out. 19:29 Verse 8. Here's the good news. 19:30 There's always a but. 19:31 Aren't you glad there's a but right here? 19:33 "But, Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord." 19:39 Amen. 19:41 Aren't you glad Noah found grace 19:42 in the eyes of the Lord? 19:43 Now what I want you to think about something 19:45 and ponder about this for a bit. 19:46 Don't let this escape your mind. 19:47 Why is it that just Noah found grace 19:49 in the eyes of the Lord? 19:50 Hasn't grace in Titus 2:11 and 12 19:53 told us that grace of God has appeared to all men. 19:57 You see, the grace of God appears to all men, 19:58 but the grace of God 20:00 is not forced upon you, my friends. 20:02 You must accept God's grace. 20:04 Can we say amen? 20:05 Noah was the only one righteous at the time 20:08 who accepted God's grace 20:09 who had a holy backbone in his body 20:12 that he was not going to, 20:13 you know, fornicate 20:15 and he was not going to play with sin 20:17 like the rest of the world. 20:19 So he stood upon God in His Word. 20:21 And he said, you know what? 20:23 I'm going to keep my relationship 20:24 close with Jesus. 20:26 He kept that relationship strong with Jesus 20:28 and God found grace in his eyes. 20:29 Now, Noah represents the first type of the remnant. 20:33 Let's read about that first type of the remnant. 20:35 Let's go to Hebrews Chapter 11. 20:37 Hebrews Chapter 11, it's the faith chapter. 20:41 Amen? 20:43 Hebrews Chapter 11, 20:45 and we're going to pick it up in verse 7. 20:49 Notice what the Word of God says, 20:50 "By faith," by what? 20:52 "By faith 20:54 Noah, being warned of God 20:56 of things not seen as yet." 20:59 My beloved friends, listen to me. 21:01 Do you want to know what righteousness by faith is? 21:03 Read Hebrews 11. 21:05 It's describing in every one of these stories, 21:08 beginning with the story of Abel, 21:11 righteousness by faith. 21:13 It says, notice what it says here, 21:15 "By faith Noah, being warned of God 21:17 of things not seen as yet." 21:18 What is faith described in Romans 10:17? 21:24 Evidence of things not seen. 21:25 What is faith? 21:27 Noah, it says, "By faith Noah, 21:29 being warned of God of things not seen as yet." 21:32 Come on, somebody, say amen. 21:34 Things not seen as yet, "Moved with fear, 21:37 prepared an ark to the saving of his," 21:40 what? 21:42 "Of his house, 21:43 by which he condemned the world 21:45 and became heir of the righteousness 21:47 which is by faith." 21:50 What is righteousness? 21:51 Right doing, which is by what? 21:54 By faith. 21:56 Noah became heir of righteousness 21:57 which is by faith because he moved with fear. 22:00 Amen? 22:02 Had relationship with God. 22:03 He knew that when God told him, 22:05 "Noah, I am about to destroy the world 22:09 to preserve this righteous seed. 22:12 And I need you to build an ark for the saving. 22:14 And not only your house and yourself, 22:16 but for the saving of any who would heed the call. 22:21 He knew that God wasn't playing around. 22:23 And by faith he builded an ark for the saving of his house. 22:28 Now, you know, it says house because how many were saved? 22:31 Eight. 22:32 And who were they? Noah's family. 22:35 I want you to think about that. 22:37 Noah's family was saved, eight people. 22:41 What did Jesus say? 22:43 As it was in the days of Noah, 22:44 so shall it also be 22:45 in the coming of the Son of Man. 22:48 We've been preaching the truth for a long time. 22:50 How many people has been really listening 22:52 to that message? 22:53 When I say listening, 22:55 I'm not talking about just hearing. 22:56 I'm talking about hearing and doing. 22:59 Amen? 23:00 Very few. 23:01 But you know what? 23:03 There's going to come a time 23:04 where they will start listening. 23:05 And that's going to be very soon. 23:07 Where our brothers and sisters 23:08 are going to be wanting to know the truth of the gospel, 23:11 the truth about Jesus. 23:12 And then I believe we will be able to give the loud cry 23:15 and share that message with them. 23:16 Amen? Amen. 23:18 But Noah represents the first type of the remnant. 23:20 He preached the Word. 23:22 And I want you to think about the days of Noah 23:23 before we transition 23:25 to the second type of the remnant. 23:26 Think about the days of Noah. 23:27 How long do they live back then? 23:29 Nine hundred plus years, right? 23:31 Adam himself was 930, 23:33 oldest man in the Bible, Methuselah 969, right? 23:36 Think about this. 23:38 How many children could you have 23:39 if you live to be 900 years old, ladies. 23:45 Now, the life expectancy of most people in this day 23:49 and age is around the 70s. 23:50 You reach the 70s, you start reaching a time 23:52 where anything could happen, right? 23:55 And you could just, 23:56 you know, go out of this world at any time, right? 23:58 So here's the thing. 23:59 How many, how many... 24:01 Now women in here, 24:02 you guys can answer if you want. 24:04 How many children do you think it's possible for you to have 24:06 if you started at the appropriate age, 24:09 and kept going 24:10 until you couldn't do it anymore? 24:11 How many children think it's possible 24:13 for a woman now in this day? 24:15 Roughly around 20. 24:17 Now you're like, what, 20? 24:18 Yes, 20, it's possible, it's happened. 24:21 Now, that's a lot of children, that's a lot of work. 24:23 But I want you to think about this. 24:25 That's a lot. 24:26 But think about it back in their day, 24:28 900 years old. 24:30 By the time you're 400, you're still in your prime. 24:35 Are we together? 24:37 And you're still popping out children 24:39 and your grandchildren and your grandbaby 24:41 and your great, great, great, great, great, great grandbabies 24:44 is already starting to pop out children. 24:46 Are we together? 24:47 So I want you to think about the population 24:49 must have been booming. 24:52 I mean, you could be 400 24:56 and still be in your prime 24:57 and have great, great, great, great, great, great, great, 24:59 great grandbabies. 25:00 Are we together? 25:02 I mean, that's something to ponder. 25:03 So, my friends, think about this. 25:06 Population is booming. 25:07 Now today we have about 7.5 billion alive 25:10 in the world today. 25:11 That's a lot of people. 25:13 We don't know the population 25:14 the exact number during the days of Noah, 25:15 but I bet it was a lot. 25:17 Obviously, it was a lot, you look at the population. 25:19 You look at how they could populate, 25:21 rather. 25:23 And so, my friends, 25:24 Noah comes to his family with this message. 25:27 Now I want you to use your mind's eye 25:28 and really imagine this. 25:29 Do we still have an imagination? 25:31 Do we have one of those? 25:32 Let's exercise it this morning. 25:33 So imagine that you're back in Noah's day and you're like, 25:36 you receive this word from God. 25:38 And then now you go to your family 25:40 and you got to tell your family, 25:41 you got to explain this to your wife. 25:43 Hey, honey, hey, 25:45 I got to talk to you real quick. 25:46 It's very important. 25:48 God has talked to me and He's told me 25:50 that He's going to destroy the entire world 25:51 and He has given me the blueprints to build an ark 25:54 for the saving of the world and the saving of the animals 25:56 and everything else 25:58 and we got to build and construct this ark. 26:00 He has given me this responsibility. 26:02 Imagine if you right now 26:05 went to your wife 26:06 and had some word like that for her. 26:09 Are we together? 26:10 Now the reason why I say this is because of this, 26:12 is because would you think 26:14 that your family would believe you? 26:17 Did Noah's family believe him? 26:22 Oh, yeah, 26:23 they were in the ark, weren't they? 26:26 Amen? 26:28 His immediate family, his three sons and their wives, 26:32 him and his wife were all in the ark together. 26:36 The saving of his what? 26:37 Of his house, the scripture says. 26:40 All right, now, 26:41 Noah represents the first type of the remnant. 26:44 Now let's move on 26:45 to the second type of the remnant. 26:46 Here we go. 26:48 Luke Chapter 17. 26:49 Let's go back to the Book of Luke, 26:50 back to the Gospel of Luke. 26:53 Luke Chapter 17. 26:56 We'll see what the Word of God says. 27:00 Here we are. 27:01 Notice what it says picking it up in verse 28. 27:03 "Likewise also as it was in the days," of who? 27:08 "Of Lot, they did eat, they drank, they bought, 27:11 they sold, they planted, they builded. 27:13 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it 27:15 rained down fire and brimstone from heaven, 27:17 and destroyed them all. 27:18 Even thus shall it be in the day 27:20 when the Son of man is revealed." 27:23 Now, here's the deal, my friends. 27:24 Was Noah and his family saved? 27:26 Yes, that's the first type of the remnant. 27:30 Was Noah a remnant of the people of his day? 27:33 Yes. 27:34 Lot, was he saved? 27:38 Yes. 27:39 Was he a remnant of those in his day? 27:42 Yes, we have two types of the remnant. 27:45 Now the question is this morning, 27:46 which type are you going to be? 27:48 We looked a little bit into the days of Noah, 27:50 we're going to come back to that in just a bit 27:52 before we close. 27:53 But we're going to look now 27:54 at the second type of the remnant, 27:56 days of Lots. 27:58 Let's go back to Genesis Chapter 13. 28:00 And let's re-familiarize ourselves 28:01 with a passage of scripture 28:03 of which many of us probably read for a devotional, 28:07 but we didn't really grasp all of its fullness. 28:10 So let's go to Revelation, Genesis rather, Chapter 13. 28:13 We're going to pick it up in verse 1. 28:15 Notice what the Word of God says. 28:17 "And Abram went up out of Egypt, 28:19 he, and his wife, 28:20 and all that he had, 28:22 and Lot with him, into the south." 28:23 So Lot is with him. 28:24 Here's the first time you see Lot mentioned in Scripture. 28:27 And notice what it says here in verse 5. 28:28 Let's go down to verse 5. 28:30 And Lot also, which went with Abram, 28:32 had flocks, and herds, and tents. 28:33 And the land was not able to bear them, 28:35 that they might dwell together: for their substance was great," 28:38 the Bible says, 28:39 "so that they could not dwell together." 28:41 And there was strife 28:42 between the herdmen of Abram's cattle 28:44 and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: 28:45 and the Canaanite and the Perizzite 28:47 dwelled then in the land. 28:48 And Abram said unto Lot, 'Let there be no strife, 28:51 I pray thee, between me and thee, 28:52 and between my herdmen and thy herdmen, 28:54 for we are brethren. 28:56 Is not the whole land before thee? 28:58 separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: 29:01 if thou wilt take the left hand, 29:04 then I will go to the right, 29:05 or if thou depart to the right hand, 29:07 then I will go to the left.'" 29:08 By the way when things are happening, 29:11 that are not good things in the family, 29:13 sometimes we have to separate ourselves 29:14 from our family, don't we? 29:16 Is that true? Uh-huh. 29:17 It's to prevent strife 29:19 and to prevent unbrotherly kindness. 29:21 Notice what it says here. 29:23 He says in verse 10, "And Lot lifted up his eyes, 29:25 and beheld all the plain of Jordan, 29:27 that it was well watered," where? 29:30 "Everywhere." 29:31 Now, what do you need 29:33 to really be successful as cattlemen? 29:37 Water, if you have water, you have grass. 29:41 If you have water, not only do you have grass, 29:43 you have everything you need to start a civilization, 29:47 pretty much. 29:48 Are we together, beloved? 29:49 So it's well watered where? 29:51 Everywhere. 29:52 And then notice what happens? 29:54 It says, "Before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, 29:56 even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, 29:59 as thou comest unto Zoar. 30:01 Then Lot chose him all the plain of the Jordan, 30:04 and Lot journeyed east: 30:05 and they separated themselves one from the other." 30:08 Now, Abram told Lot, 30:09 he says, if you go left, I'll go right, 30:10 you go right, I'll go left. 30:12 You pick first, 30:14 I'll do the opposite of whatever you do. 30:16 Right? 30:17 Notice verse 12, 30:18 "Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, 30:20 and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain." 30:23 Notice, don't miss that, the cities of the plain, 30:28 "and pitched his tent toward," where? 30:31 "Towards Sodom. 30:32 But the men of Sodom were wicked 30:35 and sinners before the Lord exceedingly." 30:37 Now, my friends, 30:38 why do you think Lot pitched his tent towards Sodom? 30:42 We probably got a lot of good ideas. 30:44 Well, let me just throw out a few 30:45 that God may have shared with me. 30:47 And that's this. 30:48 You know, sometimes 30:49 when we are trying to be successful in life, 30:52 we want to be successful, 30:54 primarily financially, right? 30:56 Because let's face it, 30:57 most people put their faith and their trust 31:00 not so much in God but their finances, right? 31:02 As long as they got money, they got everything they need. 31:05 Well, imagine as he was looking over the land, 31:08 he's like, let me think about this Abram for a bit. 31:10 He was really investigating 31:11 maybe he went a day's journey in this direction, 31:13 a day's journey in that direction, 31:14 he started to look and really investigate a place. 31:17 Him and his wife knew about Sodom and Gomorrah. 31:23 I bet his wife maybe come to his ear and she's like, 31:25 you know, honey, 31:27 we could probably do really well in Sodom, 31:30 because that's where all of the businesses are. 31:32 That's where they sell those vegan plates. 31:35 All the vegetarian meat is sold there. 31:41 And all the things that we need will be right there. 31:44 So we won't have to travel and journey real far, 31:46 we won't have to put everything on the camel 31:47 or on the donkey 31:49 and travel real far to get what we need, 31:50 will be right there, 31:52 it'll be right there at our convenience. 31:53 And not only that, honey, is that we will be able to buy, 31:55 sell and trade with anyone to make money, 31:57 to make more money 31:59 because that's where the people are. 32:01 Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? 32:03 But you see, all of that comes at a price. 32:06 So notice, pitched his tent towards Sodom. 32:09 Now, you know the story, 32:10 I'm sure many of you familiar with the gist of the story, 32:12 but we're going to look at details of the story 32:14 that you probably missed. 32:15 Genesis Chapter 18, 32:16 you see Jesus talk with Abraham 32:18 and what we call a Christophany. 32:20 Now, Christophany in theology 32:21 is a scene where Jesus comes in the flesh, 32:25 before His incarnation in Mary's womb. 32:27 Are we together, beloved? 32:29 So He comes in a Christophany 32:31 and he has this conversation with his couple of angels 32:33 with Abraham, 32:34 and he prepares a meal, they have some food, 32:36 and then what does he say? 32:38 He says, hey, listen, I've come down 32:39 because I got to investigate. 32:41 Now, I want you to understand something 32:42 about what we believe. 32:43 We have a belief 32:45 called the investigative judgment. 32:46 Before God gives His judgment, He investigates. 32:49 Come on somebody. 32:50 Come on somebody. 32:52 He investigates the situation 32:54 before He executes His judgment. 32:56 Okay. 32:57 So He comes down and he's investigating 32:59 and He sends His angels ahead of Him 33:01 while He's had this conversation with Abraham. 33:05 And Abraham ends up realizing that he's come down 33:07 because he knows that God is a God of justice. 33:11 He said, I've heard the cries of Solomon, 33:12 I've come down to do some investigation. 33:15 And I imagine as the angels were on their way, 33:16 he's like, Lord, hey, like, 33:19 he's thinking of his, his family Lot. 33:23 He's like, Lord, what if you find 50 there? 33:25 What about 45? 33:26 What about 40? What about 35? 33:28 What he goes all the way down to 10. 33:29 If there's 10 righteous, will you still destroy it? 33:31 And God says it every time, 33:32 "I will not destroy it if I can find 10." 33:34 That's a pretty good deal. What do you say? 33:36 Ah-huh. 33:38 And, so I imagine Abraham's like, 33:39 hopefully there's 10. 33:42 Angels are on their way. 33:44 And I'll just pick it up in Genesis Chapter 19. 33:47 Genesis Chapter 19, 33:49 we're going to pick it up in verse 1. 33:53 "And there came two angels to Sodom at even, 33:56 and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom 33:57 and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them, 34:00 and he bowed himself 34:02 with his face toward the ground." 34:03 So Lot immediately recognizes there's something different 34:05 about these men, right? 34:06 Uh-huh. 34:08 He bows himself to the ground, 34:09 and he basically invites them to come into his house, right? 34:12 So they go into Lot's house. 34:14 Now let's skip down to verse 4. 34:16 Verse 4 says, 34:18 "But before they lay down, the men of the city, 34:20 even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, 34:23 both old and young, 34:24 all the people from every quarter." 34:26 Notice it said old and young. 34:28 You see, the decisions 34:30 that the old makes affects the young. 34:33 Can we say amen? 34:34 Uh-huh. 34:35 And says, and notice what it says here, 34:37 He says, "Before they lay down, 34:38 they compassed the house round every quarter. 34:40 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, 34:42 Where are the men..." 34:43 I can imagine them 34:44 holding the beer bottle in their hand, 34:46 or maybe some from the local tavern, 34:49 as they stumble around, or a man came in here or not. 34:55 Are we together, beloved? 34:56 All right, and then what happens? 34:58 "And they called unto Lot, and said, 34:59 'Where are the men 35:00 which came in to thee this night? 35:02 Bring them out into us that we may know them." 35:04 And we know what that means. 35:05 They wanted to get to know him real good, didn't they? 35:07 Uh-huh. 35:09 And then notice, 35:10 "And Lot went out at the door unto them, 35:11 and shut the door behind him." 35:13 So he goes outside to them, he shuts the door behind him. 35:14 And he says this, he says, 35:16 "I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. 35:20 Behold now, I have," what? 35:24 "Two daughters which have not known man." 35:29 What did that mean? 35:32 They were virgins. 35:33 Had not known man. 35:35 "Let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, 35:37 and do ye to them as is good in your eyes, 35:40 only unto these men do nothing, 35:41 for therefore came they under the shadow 35:43 of my roof." 35:44 Now, beloved, 35:50 I'm not a father, okay. 35:52 I don't have the privilege of being a father yet. 35:54 But I can tell you if I was a father 35:56 and I bet many of you out there are fathers 35:58 and probably have daughters and sons. 36:02 Over my dead body, 36:08 would I allow these men 36:11 to have my two daughters and just give them? 36:13 They would have to kill me to get to my daughters. 36:15 Are we together, saints? 36:18 Because that's my kids, my children. 36:21 Are we together? 36:23 Now, I would have believed the same thing 36:25 if it was someone else's daughter's too. 36:26 I'm not going to allow that to happen, 36:28 not in my presence. 36:29 Are we together? 36:30 But you see 36:32 what had happened to Lot, my friends? 36:34 By dwelling in these wicked cities 36:37 and seeing all of their wickedness 36:39 and seeing all of the sin, all of the violence, 36:42 all of the fornication, all of the sexual morality, 36:45 and all of the sins in general that were going on in the city, 36:48 he became desensitized. 36:54 Notice I put some emphasis on that. 36:56 Desensitized. 37:00 Are we together? 37:02 And by beholding all of this sin, 37:04 he himself who was a holy man before coming to the city, 37:09 became to be very unholy. 37:11 Now do you think that happened overnight? 37:13 No, it happened a little bit each day. 37:18 Are we together? 37:19 And then one day, you wake up and you're like, 37:23 you don't feel the Spirit of God. 37:25 You don't feel His presence in your life. 37:27 You don't feel the conviction almost sometimes in your heart. 37:30 And you wonder what happened to me? 37:32 Are we together? 37:35 This happens to a lot of people, my friends, 37:36 and it's because 37:38 they're dwelling among wickedness 37:39 and seeing and hearing all the wickedness. 37:41 They become so desensitized to it 37:43 that when they see wickedness going on, 37:46 they could just turn their head. 37:47 How many times have we heard about a hurricane 37:49 hitting this city over here 37:51 and 500 are dead and we're just like, 37:53 "Oh, yeah, signs of times." 37:58 The Bible says we should be sighing and crying 38:00 for these things. 38:03 There's something wrong with us, 38:05 even us, the church. 38:09 See, we're not the lukewarm church 38:10 by accident, my friends. 38:12 We chose this. 38:14 Are we together? 38:16 We've allowed this lukewarmness, 38:18 this deadness to creep in in so many ways. 38:21 And God is wanting to change our hearts and our minds. 38:23 And so notice, he says, I have two daughters, 38:28 and he offers them unto him. 38:30 And then what happens? 38:31 The men step out, they're like, "No, no, 38:33 I'm not going to let this happen." 38:34 I love how the angels have a holy backbone. 38:36 They come out and they're like, 38:37 phew, I could just imagine, like, you know, I don't know, 38:39 something like that. 38:40 And then the man is just like, oh, well, 38:42 and they're blind that he can't see the door, 38:44 they can't find the door, 38:45 and then the angel shut the door behind them 38:46 and they look at Lot 38:48 and they look at his family and they say, listen, 38:50 are there any others here, besides you? 38:54 If there is, go warn them, 38:57 because we're about to destroy the city. 38:59 Let's pick it up. Let's read it. 39:00 Verse 12, Genesis 19:12, 39:03 "And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? 39:05 son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, 39:07 and whatsoever thou hast in the city, 39:09 bring them out of this place." 39:10 Notice the message. 39:12 Bring them what? 39:13 Out of this place. 39:16 That's the message that who gave? 39:27 What is the three angels' messages, 39:28 my friends? 39:30 Come out of her, my people. 39:34 Is there any here 39:35 that will have an ear to hear they say, 39:38 if there is go tell them 39:40 that we're about to destroy this place. 39:42 Verse 13, "For we will destroy this place, 39:43 because the cry of them is waxen 39:45 great before the face of the Lord, 39:47 and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it." 39:49 Is that what's going to happen to the world in the last days? 39:51 It's going to be destroyed, my friends. 39:53 And then notice what it says, "And Lot went out, 39:55 and spake unto his sons in law, 39:57 which married his daughters, and said, 39:59 Up, get you out of this place, 40:02 for the Lord will destroy this city." 40:05 But notice the next line, 40:06 "But he seemed as one 40:08 that mocked to his sons in law." 40:12 Whoa, hold on, hold on. 40:13 What do you think that is? 40:16 I mean, I can imagine. 40:18 I can imagine in my mind's eye, 40:21 his sons are sitting over here. 40:23 And what are they doing? 40:24 Or his sons in laws are sitting over here. 40:26 They're probably at the local tavern right? 40:28 They're in the cities. 40:30 And they're probably sitting 40:31 back on grandma's old cough medicine. 40:34 And while they're probably inebriated themselves 40:36 and very, very confused about all these things, 40:38 they look and all of a sudden, Lot, 40:42 who has chosen to bring His family to this wicked city. 40:48 Are we together? 40:49 Is now coming to them and he's screaming up. 40:53 Get you up out of this place, 40:54 the Lord's going to destroy the city, 40:56 and then all of a sudden he's got a word of the Lord. 41:02 I can imagine him looking up at him, 41:06 looking at one another. 41:11 Oh, boy, listen to this man, he hasn't got religion. 41:20 Do you see 41:21 that the point I'm making, my friends? 41:26 When we, as a people 41:30 make compromises in our lives 41:33 with sin and wickedness, 41:36 little by little letting it creep in our lives. 41:39 Our family sees it. 41:44 Our loved ones see it. 41:46 And we tend to kind of say, 41:48 oh, we're all sinners and you know, 41:49 they're not better than we are. 41:51 Yeah, that's true. 41:53 But that's not an excuse for it. 41:58 And they look and they just mocked them 42:01 because they've seen his life. 42:05 They see his life every day. 42:07 They know he's not a man of God. 42:09 He may have used to been, but he's not anymore. 42:13 He's not a man that loves God or he would follow God. 42:16 And all of a sudden now things have gotten real 42:19 and he's got a word of the Lord. 42:21 Are we together? 42:23 How do you think your family, your loved ones, your kin, 42:27 your neighbors are going to respond 42:30 if you bang on their door one day 42:32 when you notice that the mark of the beast 42:34 is coming right around the corner, 42:35 it's starting to be, 42:37 just proclaimed on the news 42:39 and is starting to go into your office 42:41 and start to go into effect. 42:42 Very soon we see these things wrapping up 42:44 and you're banging on their door. 42:45 You're calling up your loved ones. 42:47 You're telling them, "Hey, guys, listen, 42:48 what's coming, don't accept it. 42:49 This is going to be the mark of the beast." 42:51 What do you think 42:52 they're going to respond to you like? 42:57 Are they going to look at you and start laughing 42:59 and thinking 43:00 that you're not really that serious. 43:03 I mean, after all, look at your life. 43:10 My friends, these are two types of the remnant. 43:15 Notice what the Word of God says. 43:20 So he seemed as one that mocked to his sons in law. 43:22 That was verse 14. Let's go to verse 15. 43:23 "And when the morning arose..." 43:25 Hold on a second. 43:26 Oh, no, what? 43:28 You mean to tell me, he waited around until morning? 43:33 I mean, they just gave the message, 43:34 "Hey, listen, get out of this place. 43:36 We're about to destroy the city 43:37 and he's waiting around until morning." 43:40 Remember what happened? 43:41 They came to them at nighttime. 43:43 Now it's morning time, 12 hours have passed, 43:46 and they're still there in the city. 43:49 "And when the morning had arose, 43:52 then the angels hastened Lot," 43:54 second angel's message, saying, 43:58 "Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, 44:00 which are here," 44:02 notice, you need to be there. 44:04 You need to be there, 44:06 which are here and notice what it says, 44:07 "lest they be consumed in the iniquity of the city." 44:11 And then notice verse 16. 44:12 "And while he," what?" 44:14 Lingered." 44:16 My friends, listen, 44:17 God has been knocking on the door 44:21 to many of our hearts. 44:24 I'm speaking this message to just as much of me 44:25 as I am you. 44:27 He's been knocking on the door of our hearts. 44:30 Come out of her. 44:33 Leave the sin, 44:35 the abominations of Babylon behind. 44:39 He's been knocking. 44:40 And guess what? 44:42 Many of us, we hear it, but we've been lingering. 44:47 We've been lingering. 44:48 We've been waiting, 44:51 like something's going to just magically change. 44:53 No, my friends. 44:54 We have to physically stop doing things that we know 44:57 are an abomination to God. 44:59 Are we together? 45:00 Not by our own power, 45:02 because how much of our own power 45:03 can we do apart from Christ? 45:04 Nothing, but by the power of God, 45:06 this is where we must claim God's promises, 45:09 that He which have begun a good work in you 45:10 will complete it until the day of Jesus. 45:14 And then notice, verse 16. 45:17 "And while he lingered, the men," 45:19 these are the angels, 45:20 "laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, 45:23 and upon the hand of his two daughters, 45:25 the Lord being merciful unto him: 45:27 and they brought him forth, 45:28 and set him without the city." 45:29 My friends, listen to me, 45:31 Lot and his family 45:33 did not leave Sodom and Gomorrah willingly. 45:40 God in His love and His mercy 45:44 had his angels to grab their hands 45:46 and lead them out of the city. 45:48 Now, could they have went back? 45:50 Yes, which is why he said, don't look back. 45:54 Because if you do, 45:55 that's a sign that your heart 45:58 will still be in that wicked city. 46:00 Notice verse 17, I'm sorry, verse 16, 46:07 "Lord being merciful to him and brought him forth 46:09 and set him without the city." 46:11 Verse 17, "And it came to pass 46:12 when they had brought them forth abroad 46:13 that he said, escape for thy life, 46:15 look not behind thee, 46:17 neither stay thou in all the plain," 46:19 in other words, don't hang around here. 46:21 Don't hang near this place. 46:23 Get out here, escape to the mountain. 46:26 Now you know mountains 46:28 are where we have interactions with God. 46:29 Come on somebody. 46:31 Noah found a burning bush. 46:34 Are we together on a mountain? 46:37 Noah was given the tank or not Noah, I'm sorry. 46:40 Moses, Moses, 46:41 some of you looking at me weird, 46:42 I was wondering why. 46:44 Moses got the Ten Commandments from God on a mountain. 46:48 Abraham, come on somebody, had this experience with a ram, 46:55 with his horns caught in a thicket of thorns 46:58 on a mountain. 47:00 You ever heard of Mount Calvary? 47:02 He says, go to the mountains. 47:04 That's where we need to plead. That's where we need to go. 47:06 Can we say amen? 47:08 We need to go to the Mount, Mount Calvary. 47:11 And then notice, it says, "Lest thou be consumed. 47:14 And Lot said unto him, 47:15 "Oh, not so, my Lord." 47:17 What is wrong with Lot? 47:21 You know, the same thing is wrong with us. 47:25 God all these times You've been merciful to us. 47:27 He's led us out of sin. 47:29 He's grabbed our hands and pulled us away from it 47:30 because we weren't strong enough 47:31 to pull ourselves away from it. 47:33 And what do we do? 47:35 Sometimes like a dog returning again to its vomit, 47:38 we go right back to things 47:39 that God has convicted us to give up. 47:42 Isn't that true? 47:43 Notice, go down to verse 24. 47:46 "Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah 47:48 brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven. 47:51 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, 47:52 and all the inhabitants of the cities, 47:54 and that which grew upon the ground." 47:56 And that which grew on the ground. 47:57 "But his wife looked back from behind him, 48:00 and she became a pillar of salt." 48:02 My friends, let me tell you something, 48:03 this time that we're living in now, 48:05 it's not a time to look back upon the things 48:08 that which God has pulled you out of. 48:10 It's not a time to look back. 48:12 You know, a lot of people think, 48:14 well, well, I'll go back into the world 48:15 for a little bit and then 48:16 and then, you know, I'll come out sometime soon. 48:19 My friends, here's the thing, you are not as gone, 48:21 as Ryan just sing and Tim just played 48:23 that beautiful song here today and gone wind. 48:26 You don't always have tomorrow, my friends. 48:29 And we talked about these stories 48:30 about how people they went back into the world, 48:32 and then they had a, 48:33 you know, good old time in the world. 48:35 And then they came back to Jesus. 48:37 And we're like, oh, praise God. 48:38 You know, let me tell you something. 48:40 For every story you hear like that, 48:41 there's another hundred stories 48:43 where people went into the world 48:44 and never came out. 48:48 I love 48:49 these powerful testimonies of people 48:50 who were in the world 48:52 and they come out of the world 48:53 and we praise God for that. 48:55 But for every one of those we hear, 48:56 there's another hundred, 48:57 they go into the world 48:59 and they never come out of the world. 49:02 Notice it says 49:07 in verse 26, 49:10 "But his wife looked back from behind him, 49:12 she became a pillar of salt." 49:15 You know, my friends, 49:17 when I hear something like this, 49:20 what comes to my mind, 49:21 and what should come to all of our minds 49:22 is all the times we've looked back. 49:26 All the times we look back and things in our life, 49:28 we look back on our past, 49:30 most of us can say 49:32 we're not happy about our past, right? 49:34 But that's why we want to move past the past. 49:38 My friends, I wanna encourage you, 49:40 don't make the past your focus, but don't forget it. 49:44 Did you hear what I said? 49:46 Don't make the past your past your focus, 49:49 but don't forget it, but you can move past the past. 49:53 Amen. 49:55 Check this out. 49:56 Let me ask you a question. 49:58 How many people made it out of Sodom and Gomorrah? 50:04 How many people made it out of Sodom and Gomorrah? 50:10 You see, 50:12 three, four made it out physically, physically. 50:17 Three made it out after their wife 50:20 or the wife of Lot was turned to a pillar of salt. 50:23 Just Lot and his two daughters. 50:25 But let's go, keep reading this chapter. 50:27 Let's see who really made it out of Sodom. 50:30 Verse 30, "And Lot went up out of Zoar, 50:34 and dwelt in the mountain, 50:35 and his two daughters with him." 50:38 So there were just three of them. 50:39 "For he feared to dwell in Zoar: 50:41 and he dwelt in a cave, and his two daughters. 50:45 And the firstborn said unto the younger, 50:47 Our father is old, 50:49 and there is not a man in the earth 50:50 to come in unto us 50:52 after the manner of all the earth." 50:53 Is that true? 50:55 Was there no man? 50:58 Is that true? 50:59 No. 51:01 That's what the devil wants them to believe. 51:04 "Come, let us make our father drunk with wine." 51:07 Now notice these are women, two women. 51:11 Daughters. 51:14 Oh, my, two women, daughters. 51:22 Some of you getting it, some of you are still thinking. 51:26 What does a woman represent in Bible prophecy? 51:28 A church. 51:29 We have two churches in the last days 51:31 of which are wanting to call us 51:33 God's faithful to drink of a wine, 51:37 they want to intoxicate us. 51:39 You have Babylon in Revelation Chapter 17 51:42 and her daughters. 51:45 A woman represents a church in Bible prophecy. 51:47 We see that in Jeremiah 6:2, 51:48 which says, "I have likened the daughter of Zion 51:50 to a comely and delicate woman." 51:51 In 2 Corinthians 11:2 when he says, 51:52 "For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: 51:54 for I have espoused you to one husband, 51:56 that I may present you, the church, 51:57 as a chaste virgin to Christ." 52:00 Woman represents church in Bible prophecy. 52:04 What do we see here? 52:05 Two churches, two women, 52:08 coming together that they might conspire 52:09 to cause God's faithful to drink wine 52:14 that they might fornicate with Him. 52:18 And then notice what happens. 52:21 They made their father drink wine that night, 52:23 and then obviously the sin went forward. 52:27 Now let's go to 2 Peter 2 as we close out this message. 52:34 2 Peter 2:6. 52:38 How many made it out of Sodom and Gomorrah? 52:42 Let's read. 52:45 "And turning the cities 52:46 of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes 52:48 condemned them with an overthrow, 52:51 making them an ensample unto those that should, 52:54 " afterward," live ungodly." 52:56 So all of Sodom and Gomorrah 52:57 represented what will happen to all of those 53:00 who live in godly after them. 53:02 And then notice, verse 7, "And delivered," who?" 53:06 Just Lot," righteous Lot. 53:07 Now, hey, check this out. 53:09 Look, no one else has mentioned, 53:12 "just Lot, 53:13 vexed with the filthy conversation 53:16 of the wicked." 53:18 Notice verse 8, 53:19 "For that righteous man dwelling among them, 53:23 in seeing and hearing, 53:25 vexed his righteous soul from day to day 53:28 with their unlawful deeds." 53:32 My friends, what did I tell you, 53:34 Lot became desensitized. 53:38 And here's the thing. 53:39 Lot is the second type of the remnant. 53:44 He made it out of Sodom and Gomorrah. 53:47 But here's the deal. 53:48 The fact that he dwelt in Sodom and Gomorrah, 53:51 and didn't come out 53:52 when he could have 53:54 many years before God had to send 53:55 the angels, 53:57 he got out of Sodom and Gomorrah 54:00 but at the expense of his entire family, 54:06 only he was saved. 54:10 Only he was saved 54:14 because of his decision 54:16 to dwell amongst wickedness by seeing it and hearing it, 54:20 he vexed his righteous soul from day to day. 54:22 My friends, there's two types of the remnant, 54:23 Noah. 54:25 It says that Noah preached the gospel. 54:30 By fear, he moved by fear, he was moved with fear, 54:32 he prepared an ark for the saving of his, what? 54:36 House. 54:38 My friends, in closing, I'll say this. 54:41 Your family is watching. 54:47 My family is watching me. 54:49 I can tell you right now 54:50 if there's one person in my crowds 54:52 when I've preached to all of the thousands 54:53 that I preached to, 54:55 if there's one person in the entire crowd, 54:57 I hope to impress with my sermon, 55:00 it's my wife 55:04 because she sees me. 55:06 She knows me. 55:08 She knows when I'm putting on a fake and phony. 55:11 Are we together? 55:12 She knows how I live my life. 55:16 Are we together? 55:19 Your family is watching you. 55:21 Your grandchildren are watching you. 55:24 Your children are watching you. 55:25 Your brothers and sisters are watching you. 55:28 Your church family is watching you. 55:30 They see whether or not you show up to Sabbath school 55:32 if you're faithful 55:33 whether or not you show up the prayer meeting. 55:35 Are we together? 55:38 They see these things. 55:40 If we ever want to survive what's coming, my friends, 55:44 we have to stop 55:45 frolicking around with the devil. 55:48 Are we together? 55:50 We have to start listening to God 55:51 and His pleading for us to come back to Him, 55:54 for us to follow Him. 55:56 Jesus loves us so much and He's pleading for us, 55:58 but so many of us are putting off the calling 56:01 and the knocking of our own hearts. 56:03 Let us go to God in prayer 56:04 and ask Jesus to change these hearts. 56:09 O Father, God, we know 56:13 our misunderstandings, 56:16 our failures, 56:18 Lord our shortcomings of life. 56:22 But we are not going to dwell upon all of our shortcomings, 56:26 because there's too many to dwell upon God. 56:29 What we want to dwell on now is Your love for us 56:32 and Your calling for us to follow You. 56:36 We know Lord Jesus 56:37 that there is too many perishing every day, 56:40 who don't know You. 56:42 We don't want to join that number, O Lord. 56:45 We don't want to be a part of the number 56:48 is whom as the sand of the sea, 56:51 who is distracted and deceived by the devil 56:54 to compass the camp of the saints 56:56 of that beloved city. 56:58 We don't want to be a part of that number, O God. 57:00 We want to be faithful unto You. 57:03 We want to be a Noah, Lord Jesus. 57:06 That our family, our house, 57:07 our loved ones will be saved 57:09 for such a time as this. 57:12 Or we live righteous and holy lives 57:14 not by our power 57:15 because we have none, but only by Your power. 57:20 Because we know, Lord, You have told us in Your Word, 57:23 that Your strength is made perfect 57:25 in our weakness. 57:28 All of our incapabilities and our failures 57:32 does not weaken You. 57:35 That when You give us your strength, 57:39 it is immeasurable. 57:41 We can really do all things through You. 57:44 Help this to be a reality in our lives, 57:46 Lord, that we would stop stroking any pet sins. 57:50 Lord, we would surely come out of the cities. 57:55 Relieve the wickedness behind 57:58 and then we would be like a dog 57:59 returning to its vomit, 58:00 but God that we would be changed 58:02 in heart and mind. 58:04 Transform us, O God. 58:07 Father, forgive and inspire us anew. 58:12 Banish our worldliness, 58:15 that as the great revival is prayed, 58:16 help us to ever live 58:18 with eternity's values in view. 58:21 We ask you all of this in Jesus' name. 58:24 Amen. |
