00:06 Secrets of Success 00:07 from Prime Minister Daniel of Babylon City 00:10 with your host John Carter. 00:25 Welcome back. 00:27 Our program today is entitled "Living Victoriously," 00:30 and this is part 5. 00:32 This is a pick-up from the earlier session 00:35 and we're going to turn in the Bible 00:36 to the Book of Daniel 5:7-10. 00:41 We're talking about the drunken feast, 00:43 Daniel 5:7-10, the Bible says, 00:49 "The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, 00:52 the Chaldeans, the soothsayers." 00:56 They were the brains trust. 00:58 "The king spoke, saying to the wise men of Babylon, 01:01 'Whoever reads the writing, 01:02 this writing tells me its interpretation, 01:05 shall be clothed with purple 01:07 and have a gold chain around his neck. 01:09 And he should be the third ruler 01:11 in the kingdom.' 01:13 Now all the king's wise men came, 01:16 but they could not read the writing, 01:18 or make known to the king its interpretation. 01:23 Then King Belshazzar was greatly troubled, 01:24 his countenance was changed, and his lords were astonished. 01:29 The queen, because of the words of the king and his lords, 01:34 came to the banquet hall. 01:35 The queen spoke, saying, 'O king, live forever! 01:38 Do not let your thoughts trouble you, 01:41 nor let your countenance change.'" 01:43 So here comes the queen. 01:47 This is not his queen. 01:49 This is most likely Nebuchadnezzar's queen, 01:53 and some say Nebuchadnezzar's daughter. 01:56 So doesn't really matter as long as we know 02:01 that she was associated with Nebuchadnezzar 02:05 because she had seen the hand of God 02:08 in the life of the King Nebuchadnezzar. 02:11 She had seen or heard about the great statue of Daniel 2, 02:15 the three Hebrews in the burning fiery furnace. 02:19 Of course, she knew about her husband who went crazy. 02:22 She knew how he went crazy for seven years 02:25 and then he was restored when he looked up to God, 02:28 and so this woman who had seen the hand of God comes in 02:32 and she talks to the scoundrel. 02:35 And verses 11 and 12 tell us this, she says, 02:41 "There is a man in your kingdom 02:43 in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God. 02:45 And in the days of your father, or ancestor, 02:49 light and understanding and wisdom, 02:51 like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him, 02:54 and King Nebuchadnezzar your father, 02:56 your father the king, your ancestor, 02:59 made him chief of the magicians, astrologers, 03:01 Chaldeans, and soothsayers. 03:03 Inasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge, 03:07 understanding, interpreting dreams, 03:09 solving riddles, 03:11 and explaining enigmas were found in this Daniel, 03:14 whom the king named Belteshazzar, 03:16 now let Daniel be called, 03:19 and he will give the interpretation.'" 03:23 Just want to point this out, when the Bible says a son, 03:28 it means a descendent, and when it says a father, 03:31 it means an ancestor, 03:33 so this is quite lightly Nebuchadnezzar's wife. 03:39 She comes in and she says, "I've ever seen it all. 03:42 You better call this man because he is a man of God." 03:46 Let Daniel be called. Call the man of God. 03:51 When the chips are down, you know what you do? 03:54 You call for the man of God. 03:56 Daniel was God's man, in God's place, at God's time, 04:00 doing God's work, preaching God's message. 04:04 What the world needs more than anything else today, 04:07 what America needs is the voice of the man of God, 04:11 the voice of the prophet. 04:14 There was a wonderful remarkable American lady, 04:17 her name was Ellen White and she said this, 04:21 just want you to think of this, she said, 04:23 "The greatest want of the world is the want of men," 04:29 all it needs a few good men is a want of men, 04:33 "men who will not be bought or sold, 04:36 men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, 04:42 men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, 04:46 men whose conscience is as true to duty 04:51 as the needle to the pole, 04:54 men who will stand for the right 04:56 though the heavens fall." 04:58 And I want to say this to you, when the chips are really down, 05:04 when the writing is on the wall, 05:07 nobody is gonna be calling for a politician. 05:11 I'm telling you the truth 05:12 unless he happens to be a man of God. 05:16 But in our darkness, 05:18 we need a man of God who is going to come to us 05:22 and bring us the light of truth, 05:24 the light of God. 05:26 Bring us the man of God. 05:28 And notice Daniel 5:13-16 please, 05:31 he who has the great meeting, 05:35 "Then Daniel was bought in before the king. 05:37 The king spoke, and said to Daniel, 05:39 'Are you that Daniel who is one of the captives from Judah, 05:44 whom my father the king brought from Judah? 05:48 I have heard of you, 05:50 that the Spirit of God is in you, 05:52 and that light and understanding 05:54 and excellent wisdom are found in you. 05:58 Now the wise men, the astrologers, 06:01 have been brought in before me, 06:03 that they should read this writing 06:04 and make known to me its interpretation, 06:06 but they could not give 06:08 the interpretation of the thing. 06:11 And I've heard of you, 06:13 that you can give interpretations 06:15 and explain enigmas. 06:18 Now if you can read the writing 06:19 and make known to me its interpretation, 06:22 you shall be clothed with purple 06:25 and have a chain of gold around your neck, 06:28 and you shall be the third ruler 06:31 in the kingdom.'" 06:33 So this writing had come upon the wall. 06:37 And this writing was from God himself, 06:41 writing MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. 06:45 It was the message from almighty God 06:48 and they needed the man of God. 06:52 You've got an amazing meeting here. 06:53 Think of the contrast, 06:55 it's like Christ meeting Caiaphas, 06:59 two great men, 07:01 one great in righteousness, one great in sin. 07:06 Daniel is now an old man in his 80s. 07:11 He's a prince of God. 07:13 Belshazzar is a young man 07:16 and he is an absolute propagate. 07:21 And so they're talking together 07:24 and it's interesting when you read the passages, 07:26 it's obvious that Daniel is not overawed 07:29 in the presence of the king. 07:32 Somebody said this about John the Baptist. 07:35 He could stand direct 07:36 in the presence of earth demonics 07:38 because he had bowed low before the King of kings. 07:43 So here comes this old man well into his 80s. 07:48 Here is this young king 07:50 who is the very essence 07:53 of evil and sin. 07:59 The writing is on the wall and the king says, 08:04 "Can you tell me? 08:05 Can you please tell me what is it?" 08:09 Look at verses 17 to 22, 17 to 22, 08:15 "Then Daniel answered, and said before the king, 08:18 'Let your gifts be for yourself, 08:20 and give your rewards to another," 08:22 I don't want them, 08:24 "Yet I will read the writing to the king, 08:26 and make known to him the interpretation,'" 08:28 but I don't want to junk. 08:31 "O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father, 08:34 your ancestor, a kingdom and majesty, glory and honor. 08:40 And because of the majesty that he gave him, all peoples, 08:43 nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. 08:47 Whomever he wished, he executed, 08:49 whomever he wished, he kept alive, 08:51 whomever he wished, he set up, 08:54 and whomever he wished, he put down. 08:58 But when his heart was lifted up, 09:00 and his spirit was hardened in pride, 09:05 he was deposed from his kingly throne, 09:08 and they took his glory from him. 09:12 Then he was driven from the sons of men, 09:15 his heart was made like the beasts, 09:18 and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. 09:22 They fed him with grass like oxen, 09:25 his body was wet with the dew of heaven, 09:30 till he knew that the Most High God rules 09:32 in the kingdom of men, 09:33 and appoints over it whomever he chooses. 09:38 But you his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart,'" 09:44 notice the words, 09:46 "Although you knew 09:51 all this." 09:55 He was a young guy 09:57 who had tremendous opportunities. 10:03 He knew the story of his father or his grandfather, 10:07 his ancestor, Nebuchadnezzar, 10:11 that even though he knew at all didn't get inside his soul. 10:14 I want you to know this, 10:16 great truth brings right responsibility. 10:22 Great light brings great consequences. 10:28 You know, the great American song 10:30 God shed His light on you. 10:33 God shed His light upon America, 10:37 but remember this, there is no blackness so black, 10:43 there is no night so black, as light rejected, 10:49 better never to know the truth 10:51 than to know the truth and just burn the truth. 10:57 You said, you've known all this things. 10:59 Great truth brings great responsibility. 11:03 Great light brings great consequences. 11:07 You've known all these things, he said to the young guy. 11:11 Belshazzar like so many today, 11:14 maybe some of us had spurned his spiritual opportunities. 11:20 And look at verse 22 and 23, 22 and 23, 11:25 "But you his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, 11:28 although you knew all this. 11:30 And you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. 11:34 They have brought the vessels of His house before you, 11:39 and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, 11:42 have drunk wine from them. 11:45 And you have praised the Gods of silver and gold, 11:47 bronze and iron, wood and stone, 11:50 which do not see or hear or know, 11:53 and the God who holds your breath in His hand 11:56 and owns all your ways, you have not glorified." 12:01 I want you to realize this, my friend, 12:03 we are this far from death, every one of us. 12:08 Thickness of the wall of an artery. 12:13 This life that is in our souls, this hearts that beats does so 12:19 because of the grace of God, 12:23 but this young guy didn't care. 12:30 I would say this and I say it thoughtfully, 12:34 what is the sin of our age? 12:35 What is the sin of America? 12:37 What is the sin of Australia and Great Britain? 12:41 Is it not the worship of silver, gold, bronze, iron, 12:46 wood, and stone? 12:50 Has not the world become crazy? 12:53 It is luster for the things 12:57 of material value. 13:01 But the God in whose hands your breath is, 13:07 you have not glorified things instead of God. 13:12 Daniel 5:23, Daniel 5:23, 13:16 I want you to notice this passage, 13:19 "And you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. 13:24 They have brought the vessels of His house before you, 13:27 you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, 13:31 have drunk wine from them, 13:33 and you have praised the gods 13:35 of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, 13:38 which do not see or hear or know, 13:41 and the God who holds your breath 13:44 in His hand 13:46 and owns all your ways, you have not glorified." 13:52 I say this thoughtfully, not to revoke any of you, 13:59 but today we see in America 14:01 and in the so called Christian countries, 14:04 especially, the desecration of holy things. 14:08 Now, I'm going to say this and I know it is truth. 14:14 God raised up America. 14:20 God raised up America, to stand as the fortress for the truth 14:26 as a haven for and oppress people. 14:29 Give me your tired, your huddled masses 14:32 yearning to be free. 14:35 Why do you think the pilgrim fathers came here? 14:38 To make a buck? 14:41 They came to the United States of America 14:43 because they wanted to breathe fresh and free air, 14:49 where they could worship God with the clear conscience, 14:53 and this nation was raised up by people who believed in God 14:58 and who believed in Holy Scripture. 15:02 In spite of what people tell us today, 15:07 who would distort the truth about the origins of America. 15:13 But I think the words that was spoken back there 15:16 in the days of Babylon are appropriate 15:19 for America today and the rest of us. 15:22 The desecration of holy things, the Holy Sabbath, 15:27 the holy marriage institution 15:29 which is now being trampled under foot in America, 15:34 it is the truth. 15:37 And when you talk to people about this, 15:39 they say, "That is simply your opinion." 15:42 That's nonsense. It is not my opinion. 15:45 It is the Word of God. 15:48 In the beginning, He made them male and female. 15:54 And so we see today 15:55 the desecration of sacred things, 15:58 but remember the writing is on the wall. 16:04 The desecration of the Sabbath, the marriage institution, 16:07 and the Holy Bible which is jeered up 16:10 by millions of millions and the Ten Commandants. 16:16 Now Karl Barth was considered to be the greatest theologian 16:19 of the 20th century, the great German theologian. 16:23 In one of his books you have this statement. 16:26 I want you to think about it. 16:30 "When the holy day becomes the day of man, 16:34 society and humanity wither away 16:38 and the demons rule." 16:41 The demons are ruling today. 16:47 Why is it that problems come 16:49 problem after problem after problem, 16:51 and nobody seems to be able to get a handle on the problem? 17:01 Karl Barth out of his book, 17:03 when the holy day becomes the day of man, 17:06 society and humanity wither away 17:11 and the demons rule. 17:17 Today we have the worship of counterfeit gods 17:21 that all gods are of equal worth. 17:27 That is not true. 17:28 There is only one God, the casting down of God, 17:32 the truth, the mocking of holy men, 17:35 and holy things. 17:39 And so what happened 17:40 in the days of Babylon with Belshazzar. 17:43 Belshazzar like us today 17:46 had received light from God. 17:51 America has received light from God 17:54 more than any other nation. 17:57 Go, read your constitution. 18:03 We're endowed by our creator 18:05 with certain unalienable rights. 18:08 Where do we get it from? 18:09 We get it from the White House? 18:11 No. 18:12 The government doesn't give us our rights, 18:15 God gives us our rights. 18:18 In a communist country, 18:20 the government gives the people their rights, 18:24 but not in America. 18:26 The government has the wisdom to recognize the part of God 18:31 that God gives us our right. 18:37 But then judgment was announced. 18:39 Look at Daniel 5:24-28. 18:44 Daniel 5:24-28, "Then the fingers," 18:49 this is the old prophet speaking, 18:50 "then the fingers of the hand were sent from him, 18:54 and this writing was written. 18:57 This is the inscription that was written 19:01 MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. 19:06 This is the interpretation of each word. 19:09 MENE: God has numbered your kingdom and finished it. 19:15 TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances 19:20 and found wanting. 19:24 PERES: Your kingdom has been divided, 19:30 and given to the Medes and the Persians." 19:36 So there is a judgment, isn't there? 19:40 He was weighed in the balances. 19:42 Every person here one day sooner or later 19:44 is going to be weighed in the balances. 19:48 When they weighed Belshazzar, 19:51 even with all the alcohol in his belly, 19:55 he was still a lightweight. 19:58 The Bible teaches that all will be finally raised 20:01 to meet the judge, all of us. 20:05 People say, I can do what I like. 20:08 I want to say to you as I look at you 20:10 and as you watch the television program, 20:13 you have a God that you must deal with. 20:17 You can laugh at Him, you can curse Him, 20:20 you can blaspheme His name, you can die and be buried, 20:25 but you're coming back to meet Him. 20:28 It says in Revelation 20, these words. 20:32 Revelation 20:11-13, 20:36 "Then I saw a great white throne 20:40 and Him who sat on it, 20:43 from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. 20:47 And there was found no place for them. 20:50 And I saw the dead, small and great, 20:53 standing before God, and books were opened, 20:57 and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. 21:00 And the dead were judged according to their works, 21:05 by the things 21:07 which were written in the books. 21:10 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, 21:14 and Death and Hades delivered up the dead 21:18 who were in them. 21:21 And they were judged, each according to his works." 21:27 So the Bible teaches 21:29 as Belshazzar met God in judgment, 21:33 so must we. 21:37 Now, look at verse 29, verse 29, Daniel 5:29, 21:43 "Then Belshazzar gave the command, 21:47 and they clothed Daniel with purple 21:50 and put a chain of gold around his neck, 21:53 and made a proclamation concerning him 21:55 that he should be the third ruler 21:58 in the kingdom." 22:01 Therefore, it is obvious 22:04 he was promoted by his enemy. 22:10 Did you know that God has promotion for you? 22:14 He can turn a negative into a positive. 22:17 He will frustrate the plans of your enemies 22:20 who are jealous of you. 22:22 If you honor God, God will honor you. 22:28 And you will be promoted. 22:33 Daniel 5:30 and 31 says, Daniel 5, 22:39 "That very night Belshazzar, 22:41 king of the Chaldeans, was slain." 22:44 Quick, wasn't it? 22:46 "And Darius the Mede received the kingdom, 22:49 being about 62 years old." 22:55 So the judgment was pronounced, it was carried out. 23:00 The Persians were at the gates. 23:04 That night, the blood of the king 23:07 mingled with a wine. 23:12 A great scholar by the name of W.G. Heslop said this, 23:17 "There was a last night in the history of Belshazzar. 23:21 There is a last night 23:22 to everything and everyone on earth. 23:25 A last feast, a last fight, 23:29 a last dance, a last movie, 23:33 a last cigar, a last drink, 23:36 a last cigarette, a last oath, 23:40 a last supper, a last night. 23:45 The Belshazzars of today may make their great feasts, 23:50 drink their expensive wines, profane holy things, 23:56 and mock holy men, 24:00 but there is a last night for them all." 24:05 My message to you is this, 24:07 listen carefully, look carefully 24:12 because the writing is on the wall. 24:15 Every one of us, the writing is on the wall. 24:21 America is drunk, 24:25 Australia is drunk, 24:30 world is drunk. 24:32 God's holy things are defiled, who cares? 24:37 God's mercy lingers 24:39 because God is first and foremost 24:41 a God of love and mercy. 24:45 But there is a line that has crossed 24:47 and Belshazzar crossed over the line. 24:53 And nations have a line in the sand also. 24:58 There's a line that is crossed, there is a judgment. 25:03 And God's Daniels will be promoted to glory. 25:10 The Bible teaches that the day is going to come 25:14 when the people who have honored God 25:19 by their faith and by the way they have lived. 25:23 Those people are going to be lifted out of this world 25:28 and they are going to be promoted to glory. 25:38 It is written. 25:40 This is the Word of the Lord. 25:47 The writing is on the wall. 25:52 Look at it. 25:56 And you and I 25:59 had better believe it. 26:04 Let us pray, our Father, we thank You for sending us 26:09 a revelation of truth. 26:11 May this word of God sink into our hearts this day, 26:16 in Jesus' name, 26:18 amen, amen, and amen. 26:24 Today, we are starting the Washington DC Project. 26:29 We are going by the grace of God 26:32 to buy time on Washington television, 26:35 and we're going to have messages for our people 26:38 in the White House and on Capitol Hill. 26:42 There is a reason why we are doing this. 26:45 And Time Magazine has been the reason 26:48 that we've thought of doing this. 26:50 Notice this Time Magazine, 26:52 it says "Is truth dead?" 26:57 Apparently many people in Washington would say 27:00 "Yes, truth is dead." 27:03 And we can say anything we like because truth is dead. 27:09 That's why we have so much fake news today in Washington. 27:15 We're going to be talking truth to power. 27:18 We're going to be talking about the great truths 27:20 that founded this great country. 27:22 We're going to be talking 27:24 about the great undergirding realities 27:28 that were the foundation stones of the great American Republic. 27:33 And we want you to support this project. 27:35 If you believe that we should bring a message 27:37 to the leadership in Washington, 27:40 please support us. 27:41 We have no money to do this at this moment. 27:45 We are asking you to send your offerings 27:48 and your money to the Washington Project. 27:52 Write to me please, John Carter, PO Box 1900, 27:56 Thousand Oaks, California 91358. 27:59 In Australia, you can write to us 28:01 at the address on the screen. 28:04 When you write to us, 28:05 for everybody who gives $100 or more, 28:08 we're going to give you America's original Bible, 28:13 the Patriot's Bible, the Geneva Bible. 28:17 Please write to me today. 28:25 For a copy of today's program, 28:27 please contact us at PO Box 1900, 28:31 Thousand Oaks, California 91358, 28:35 or in Australia, contact us at PO Box 861, 28:40 Terrigal, New South Wales 2260. 28:45 This program is made possible 28:46 through the generous support of viewers like you. 28:49 We thank you for your continued support. 28:52 May God richly bless you. |
