00:01 The Carter Report presents "Living Victoriously,"
00:06 Secrets of Success 00:07 from Prime Minister Daniel of Babylon City 00:10 with your host John Carter. 00:25 Welcome back to Living Victoriously. 00:27 This is Daniel 8. 00:29 And this is a pick up from the previous program. 00:32 I'm going to read you a statement. 00:34 We're talking about the desolation of Christianity 00:38 in the days that are called the Dark Ages. 00:42 I'm going to give you a statement here from Mosheim. 00:46 I'm going to read it to you, 00:47 talks about what happened in the Christian Church. 00:51 "An enormous train of different superstitions 00:55 were gradually substituted in the place of true religion 00:59 and genuine piety. 01:02 This odious revolution 01:04 was owing to a variety of reasons. 01:08 A preposterous desire of imitating..." 01:12 Listen to this. 01:13 "The Pagan rites, and of blending them 01:16 with the Christian worship, and that idle propensity, 01:20 which the generality of mankind have for a gaudy 01:26 and ostentatious religion, 01:29 all contributed to establish a reign of superstition 01:34 upon the ruins of Christianity." 01:37 And how would the people know any difference? 01:41 How would they? 01:43 Because they didn't have the Bible, 01:46 they were not taught the Bible, 01:48 and so they were simply 01:51 the victims of the biggest fake news event 01:54 in the history of the world. 01:56 Now here is a statement 01:58 from the famous Church Historian Eusebius. 02:01 Just look at this, if you don't mind. 02:05 "In order to render Christianity 02:07 more attractive to the Gentiles..." 02:11 Read pagans. 02:13 "The priest adopted the exterior vestments 02:17 and ornaments used in the pagan cult." 02:23 Now people have said to me, 02:25 "Why do these clergymen dress in this way? 02:30 We do not say it sarcastically or unkindly. 02:34 They got it from the pagans. 02:38 And when the pagans saw them dressed like this, they said, 02:41 "We're gonna join too." 02:44 And that's how the church grew. 02:48 This commenced the reign of superstition. 02:53 That's why Washington said, 02:55 "You can't govern people without God in the Bible." 02:59 A democracy will only work 03:02 if you have an informed populace, 03:06 intelligent people. 03:08 Else democracy is going to lead you down the road to hell, 03:12 if nobody knows anything. 03:15 And so the Bible was taken from the people as it is today. 03:21 Reign of superstition, the great counterfeit, 03:25 and the watchword was, "Keep the dumb people dumb." 03:30 Yeah, I'm sorry. 03:32 "Keep the people in ignorance, 03:36 teach them not to question the church, 03:41 teach them to worship authority." 03:46 That is the very antithesis of the American dream. 03:53 "Give me liberty, give me death," you say. 03:57 I will be free. 03:59 Soul of man must be free because that, of course, 04:02 is the teaching of the Bible. 04:04 Now we're going to put up the true and the false. 04:07 I want you to bear with me, not to get offended, 04:11 not trying to offend anybody 04:13 because God has got His people in every church. 04:16 I want you to know this. 04:17 We're gonna have the true and the false. 04:19 The true, the Bible and the Bible alone. 04:22 The false, the tradition of the church. 04:25 What the church says. 04:28 Over on this side again, here's another one. 04:30 The true, the Bible, the commandments of God, 04:34 the commandment of God, or the commandments of God, 04:37 and the commandments of the Roman Church. 04:43 The true, salvation through faith alone, sola fide. 04:50 The false, salvation by grace plus works. 04:55 The true, Christ our only high priest. 05:00 The false, the pope our high priest. 05:05 "Pontifex Maximus." 05:08 The true, confession to Christ alone. 05:13 I don't confess my sins to any man, 05:17 except the man Christ Jesus. 05:20 But confession to the priest... 05:22 You never read in the scriptures 05:24 in the New Testament 05:26 of a soul ever confessing his sins to a priest, never. 05:29 But if the people don't know the Bible, 05:33 are they going to question? 05:35 Of course, not. 05:37 The true, the one sacrifice of the cross once for all, 05:41 the atoning sacrifice. 05:42 The false, the sacrifice of the mass. 05:47 As was described by the Council of Trent, 05:50 a true sacrifice of propitiation, 05:54 Council of Trent. 05:56 The true, Christ our only savior. 05:59 False, Mary, our co-redeemer. Mary, pray for us. 06:04 The true, eternal security. 06:06 The false is purgatory which is never mentioned 06:11 or taught in the Bible, it is not taught in the Bible, 06:15 you cannot find it in the Bible. 06:18 But it is a theological necessity, 06:20 if you do not understand the gospel. 06:23 Because when I come to Christ I am saved now, 06:26 and I'm ready to go to glory now. 06:29 But the false says, "No, you are not ready, 06:33 you must be purged in the flames of fire 06:36 for a million years or two." 06:41 On the side of the true, we have sola scriptura, 06:45 only scripture, sola Christus, only Christ, sola gratia, 06:51 only grace, sola fide on the other side. 06:54 And I say this with Christian charity 06:57 without wishing to offend any of my beloved friends 07:01 who may be a part of that system 07:03 because God has a multitude of earnest sincere Christians 07:07 in that system. 07:09 But in that system you have indulgences 07:12 not taught in the Bible, relics, prayers for the dead. 07:15 Don't pray for the dead because it does no good. 07:20 They are asleep awaiting the resurrection. 07:23 Praying to the dead saints. 07:27 Do not pray to the dead saints, pray to the living Christ. 07:31 Papal infallibility, 07:33 the celibacy of priests and nuns. 07:37 With all the awful consequences 07:39 that we shall not begin to describe here today, 07:44 but the scandal of Christendom, 07:46 masses for the dead, images and persecution. 07:51 But on this side we have some wonderful words. 07:54 We have liberty, life, 07:57 holiness, and prosperity. 08:02 And I can say this as a fact 08:04 and nobody can challenge me on this. 08:07 The people who chose the true 08:10 became the freest people in the world 08:13 with the greatest amount of life, 08:16 and holiness, and prosperity. 08:19 That is the truth 08:21 because it is God's Word that saves. 08:25 As the Bible was laid aside, 08:29 the church and the world 08:31 sank into the darkness of the night, 08:32 it is called the Dark Ages. 08:36 It went from roughly from the days of Constantine 08:40 through until that strong Roman Catholic monk stood up 08:45 and said, "Enough is enough." 08:48 His name was Luther. 08:51 Look at verse 12, Daniel 8:12, "Because of transgression, 08:55 an army was given over to the horn 08:58 to oppose the daily sacrifices, 09:02 and he cast truth down to the ground. 09:05 And he did all this and he prospered." 09:11 God's truth was on the scaffold, 09:14 error was on the throne. 09:16 This was a time of great persecution. 09:19 You say, "I cannot believe these things." 09:22 The problem is, today, 09:24 we are concerned with the trivia, 09:27 and people are addicted to cell phones. 09:31 It is an addiction, 09:33 the same as a person can be addicted to heroin. 09:37 People come into funerals... 09:40 They can't help themselves. 09:44 And they are losing their capacity 09:46 to think and to reason. 09:48 It is the truth. 09:50 This was a time of great persecution, 09:53 millions perished. 09:57 Good Roman Catholics, who said, "No." 10:02 Protestants, Jews, Muslims persecuted. 10:07 And God had His people in all these organizations. 10:12 So through false teaching and evil practices, 10:16 the church in the world were reduced to ashes. 10:19 Wylie, the great British historian said this 10:22 and we are afraid to say what Wylie said, 10:24 but I will say it. 10:26 He said, "The noonday of the papacy 10:28 was the midnight of the world." 10:32 But God is in the restoration business. 10:34 I have people who come to me, 10:36 who are members of my own church, 10:37 and they say, "Why I was preaching these truths." 10:43 Will you sell your Lord, I say to them, 10:46 for 30 pieces of silver? 10:50 This is betrayal of the Son of God. 10:58 Where is the faith of our fathers? 11:02 But God is in the restoration business. 11:04 Daniel 8:13-14. 11:08 "Then I heard a holy one speaking, 11:10 another holy one said to that certain one 11:12 who was speaking, these are angels, 11:14 'How long will the vision be, concerning the daily sacrifice 11:17 and the transgression of desolation, 11:19 the giving of both the sanctuary 11:21 and the host to be trampled underfoot.?' 11:24 And he said to me, 'For 2,300 days 11:27 evening, mornings, 11:29 or years then the sanctuary shall be cleansed," 11:33 or vindicated, or restored to its rightful state. 11:38 The Hebrew word is tsadaq, that means vindicate. 11:44 Listen carefully. 11:47 You may not understand or get all the history, 11:50 but you will get this. 11:52 God is in the cleaning up business, 11:55 He's in the making it right business, 11:58 He's in the salvation business, 12:01 He's in the turning the light on again business. 12:05 Here is an aside, 12:08 a parenthesis. 12:13 Some personal stories 12:14 because what God does on a worldwide scale 12:17 for the church, He also does for individuals. 12:20 There was an Englishman by the name of John Newton, 12:25 he came from a Christian home, but he sold it all. 12:32 Became the captain of a slave ship. 12:35 In fact, he became a slave himself 12:39 to slaves in Africa, 12:43 who was supplying him with slaves. 12:47 His father arranged for the British government 12:50 to send down a man of war, 12:52 they arrested him, 12:54 he came back a lost soul to England, 12:57 and he heard a man preach with fire. 13:06 He heard the Wesley's, John, and Charles, 13:08 he was led to Christ. 13:11 The light came on. 13:14 God cleaned him up. 13:15 He cleans up people, even cleans up dirty churches, 13:19 He cleans up people. 13:21 He gave him beauty for ashes, he was restored cleansed, 13:26 he became a Church of England minister. 13:28 He wrote these words, John Newton. 13:32 "Amazing grace! 13:34 How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me! 13:37 I once was lost, but now am found. 13:39 Was blind, but now I see. 13:42 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, 13:44 and grace my fears relieved. 13:46 How precious did that grace appear 13:48 the hour I first believed. 13:51 Through many dangers, toils, and snares I have already come. 13:55 'Tis grace that brought me safe thus far, 13:58 and grace will lead me home." 14:01 That's what God does. 14:04 God saves people, 14:07 if they will open their hearts to Him, 14:09 and not harden their hearts. 14:12 God can't save a hard heart, whether it's Protestant, 14:16 Jewish, Catholic, or atheistic. 14:18 And there was a man by the name of Peter, 14:21 he was a follower of Jesus. 14:23 Peter messed up really bad, 14:25 he cursed, and he denied the Lord of glory 14:28 when Jesus needed a friend, he wasn't there. 14:33 The sun went down for Peter, 14:35 he had his own private dark ages, 14:37 he had devastation. 14:39 I want you to read Mark 16:5-7. 14:42 Great text. 14:44 "Entering the tomb, they saw a young man 14:46 clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side. 14:51 They were alarmed. 14:52 But he said to them, 'Do not be alarmed. 14:56 You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. 14:58 He is risen! He is not here. 15:01 See the place where they laid Him. 15:03 But go tell his disciples and Peter, 15:09 tell Peter that He is going before you into Galilee 15:13 there you will see Him, as He said to you.'" 15:18 When Peter messed up, Jesus didn't mess up on Peter. 15:24 He said, the angel said... 15:26 Jesus had told the angel, 15:28 tell the disciples I want to sit 15:29 but say Peter. 15:33 Because God is the God of the first chance, 15:36 the second chance, and the third chance 15:38 but don't mess around. 15:41 Jesus restored Peter, he became not the pope. 15:46 There's no evidence at all in history 15:48 for Peter becoming the pope. 15:50 That is a church tradition. 15:52 It is fake news. 15:55 It is not the truth. 15:57 Peter was not the pope, 16:00 but he became one of the greatest leaders 16:02 in the church. 16:03 So God is in the restoration business. 16:05 Now come back here to Daniel 8:13-14. 16:10 "Then I heard a holy one speaking, 16:12 and another holy one said to that certain one 16:14 who was speaking, 'How long will be the vision, 16:17 concerning the daily sacrifice, 16:19 the transgression of desolation, 16:21 the giving of both the sanctuary 16:23 and the host to be trampled underfoot?'" 16:25 How long until God does something. 16:27 "And he said to me, 'For 2,300 days 16:31 then the sanctuary will be cleansed." 16:34 And then verses 15 down to 17. 16:37 "Then it happened, when I, Daniel, had seen the vision 16:40 and was seeking the meaning, 16:41 that suddenly there stood before me one 16:43 having the appearance of a man. 16:45 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of the Ulai, 16:48 who called, and said, 'Gabriel, 16:49 make this man understand the vision.' 16:51 So he came near where I stood, 16:53 and when he came I was afraid and fell on my face, 16:56 and he said to me, 'Understand, son of man, 16:58 that the vision refers to the time of the end.'" 17:03 This is a promise that God will restore His truth, 17:07 and restore His church at the time of the end 17:12 that He will arise in judgment and make wrong right. 17:17 Look at verses 18 to 20. 17:21 "Now as he was speaking with me, 17:23 I was in a deep sleep with my face to the ground, 17:25 but he touched me, and stood me upright. 17:27 And he said, 'Look, I am making known to you 17:29 what will happen in the later time of the indignation, 17:32 for at the appointed time the end shall be. 17:35 The ram which you saw, having the two horns, 17:38 they are the kings of Media and Persia." 17:41 ' "And the male goat is the king of Greece. 17:45 The large horn that is between his eyes, 17:48 its eyes is the first king." 17:50 Now we're talking here, we're going back. 17:52 The angel Gabriel is telling us the truth. 17:54 Now we're talking about Alexander. 17:57 And then you come to 23 to 25, or verse 22. 18:02 "As for the broken horn 18:05 and the four that stood up in this place, 18:07 four kingdoms shall arise out of that nation, 18:10 but not in his power." 18:12 And then you come, verses 23 to 25. 18:16 "And in the latter time of their kingdom, 18:18 when the transgressors have reached their fullness, 18:21 a king shall arise. 18:23 Having fierce features, 18:25 who understands sinister schemes, 18:28 his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power. 18:31 He shall destroy fearfully, he shall prosper and thrive, 18:36 he shall destroy the mighty, and also and the holy people. 18:41 Through his cunning he shall cause deceit 18:43 to prosper under his rule. 18:45 And he shall exalt himself in his heart. 18:48 He shall destroy many in their prosperity. 18:51 He shall even rise against the Prince of princes. 18:57 But he shall be broken without hand." 19:00 Now listen. 19:02 On the screen. 19:04 Now let me read you another text. 19:05 Look at verse 26, 19:09 "And the vision of the evenings and the morning 19:11 which was told is true. 19:14 Therefore seal up the vision, 19:15 for it refers many days in the future." 19:19 Here is a summary on the screen. 19:22 Have a look at this. 19:23 We're going to put it up. 19:25 Here it is. 19:26 We've got the Ram, Medo-Persia, we've got the goat, Greece, 19:29 we got the great horn, Alexander the Great, 19:32 and then we have the little horn 19:34 that is Rome in both its phases, 19:38 pagan and papal. 19:40 Then we have the cleansing, the restoration. 19:43 The cleansing of the sanctuary, the restoration, 19:46 and the judgment. 19:48 It says that God is going 19:53 to make wrong right. 19:57 Let me tell you. 19:58 I got to go fast. 20:00 As God has been restoring His truths to the world 20:03 and giving beauty for ashes. 20:07 Five hundred years ago, my friend, 20:10 listen 1517, 20:15 an earnest Roman Catholic priest, 20:20 one of God's great saints, the tide of it all. 20:25 And he nailed up 99 thesis 20:28 to the door of the church in Wittenberg. 20:32 He started the Reformation, he started it, 20:37 but he didn't finish it. 20:39 What did he teach? 20:41 Sola Christus, that's what I teach, only Christ. 20:44 Sola scriptura, only scripture, no high priest but Christ, 20:49 no holy book but the Bible. 20:54 And, in spite of intense opposition, persecution, 20:57 the moment grew and it flourished, 21:01 and it spread, started in Germany, 21:07 Holland, Scandinavia. 21:09 Wherever it went, the people were lifted up. 21:13 It brought liberty, hope, life, prosperity. 21:18 The Spanish Armada came against little Britain 21:23 in the bosom of those Spanish ships 21:26 were the instruments of the inquisition, 21:30 but God sent a storm and destroyed them. 21:36 It was the work of God and read it. 21:42 The Reformation came to America with the pilgrims. 21:45 They brought this book, not this identical one. 21:49 But here is a copy of the Geneva Bible 21:53 that teaches the same things 21:55 that I've been teaching here today. 21:59 This was the foundation 22:01 of America. 22:07 The secret of America's success 22:11 "Liberty," which you don't get from the church, 22:16 you get it from God, from Christ. 22:21 There is something I'm going to show you here. 22:22 We're riding a wave, riding a wave. 22:27 The wave started off big 22:28 but the wave has been getting smaller, 22:30 and smaller, and smaller, and smaller. 22:32 We're down here today. 22:36 Some would say, "It's finished." 22:40 The Bible prophecy says, 22:42 "That the greatest days are still to come." 22:47 Now I'm going to give you a fact, 22:49 gonna find this hard to take some of you. 22:52 You can argue with me, you say, 22:53 "I don't like what you're saying." 22:55 But you can't fight with the truth. 23:00 Got on my computer this week 23:01 and I looked up the corruption index. 23:04 I wanted to find out 23:06 the best countries in the world, 23:08 the most honest countries. 23:10 Why? 23:12 I discovered the best countries as far as honesty, freedom, 23:17 prosperity are concerned are the countries 23:22 that embraced the truths of the Bible 23:25 and embraced the faith of Luther 23:27 and the Pilgrim Fathers, they became 10 times better. 23:33 I want you to look at this. 23:35 You see the dark countries that's where they rejected it. 23:39 Red is bad, black is even worse, 23:42 the green countries accepted 23:45 the truths of the Reformation. 23:50 The atheist countries, the communist countries, red, 23:54 and black, and darkness. 23:57 But there you've got, 23:59 the green countries are the countries 24:02 that became the leaders of the world. 24:06 You say, "I can't believe it. 24:08 I can't believe it." 24:09 Why was America blessed? 24:12 Did America get lucky? 24:15 No. 24:19 America accepted the truths of the Bible. 24:27 Good people in every country. 24:30 That's why they're all trying to get to America. 24:33 Those who follow Christ and His Word 24:36 are 10 times better. 24:40 The Reformation is not finished. 24:44 God is restoring, and cleansing, 24:46 and preparing a people. 24:49 Look at the last verse, Daniel 8:27, 24:54 "And I Daniel fainted, I was sick for days, 24:59 afterward I arose and went about the king's business. 25:01 I was astonished by the vision." 25:03 No one understood it in those days. 25:07 We understand it now. We understand it now. 25:11 History has shown us the truth. 25:14 You are privileged to hear the truth. 25:17 The greatest battle that will go in, 25:20 go on in your heart is not a battle against truth, 25:24 it is a battle for superstition. 25:30 But Christ will save you. 25:35 There was a man in the Old Testament, 25:36 he said, when he considered the great issues of his time, 25:43 he said, Joshua said, 25:45 "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." 25:50 Now I'm going to tell you something. 25:52 This is not fake news. 25:53 This is just the truth. 25:55 He who has ears, let him hear it, 25:57 the people who follow the truth, 26:01 the gospel, and the commandments of God 26:05 are 10 times better, so are their countries. 26:09 And those people eventually will be promoted to glory 26:16 and the audience said, "Amen and amen." 26:24 Today we're starting the Washington DC Project. 26:28 We are going by the grace of God 26:31 to buy time on Washington television. 26:35 And we're going to have messages for our people 26:38 in the White House and on Capitol Hill. 26:42 There's a reason we're doing this. 26:44 And Time Magazine has been the reason 26:47 that we thought of doing this. 26:49 Notice this Time Magazine, 26:52 it says, "Is Truth dead?" 26:57 Apparently, many people in Washington would say, 26:59 "Yes, truth is dead." 27:02 And we can say anything we like because truth is dead. 27:08 That's why we have so much fake news 27:12 today in Washington. 27:14 We're going to be talking truth to power. 27:17 We're going to be talking about the great truths 27:19 that founded this great country. 27:22 We're going to be talking about 27:23 the great undergirding realities 27:27 that were the foundation stones of the great American Republic. 27:32 And we want you to support this project. 27:35 If you believe that we should bring a message 27:37 to the leadership in Washington, 27:39 please support us. 27:41 We have no money to do this at this moment. 27:44 We're asking you to send your offerings 27:47 and your money to the Washington Project. 27:52 Write to me please, John Carter, PO Box 1900, 27:55 Thousand Oaks, California 91358. 27:59 In Australia, you can write to us 28:01 at the address on the screen. 28:03 When you write to us, 28:05 for everybody who gives a $100 or more, 28:08 we're going to give you America's original Bible, 28:12 the Patriots Bible, the Geneva Bible. 28:16 Please write to me today. 28:25 For a copy of today's program, 28:27 please contact us at PO Box 1900, 28:31 Thousand Oaks, California 91358, 28:35 or in Australia, contact us at PO Box 861, 28:40 Terrigal, New South Wales 2260. 28:44 This program is made possible 28:46 through the generous support of viewers like you. 28:49 We thank you for your continued support. 28:52 May God richly bless you. |
