00:06 Secrets of Success 00:07 from Prime Minister Daniel of Babylon city 00:10 with your host John Carter. 00:25 And this is our series Living Victoriously. 00:29 How you can be 10 times better, 00:31 and today we're dealing with Daniel 11 in the series. 00:37 I want you to notice 00:38 Daniel 11:3, I believe. 00:44 Daniel 11:3-4, 00:46 "Then a mighty king shall arise, 00:49 who shall rule with great dominion, 00:51 and do according to his will. 00:54 And when he has arisen, 00:55 his kingdom shall be broken up and divided 00:58 toward the four winds of heaven, 01:00 but not among his posterity or family 01:03 nor according to his dominion with which he ruled, 01:07 for his kingdom shall be uprooted, 01:10 even for others besides these." 01:15 Here you have an astounding proof of God. 01:21 This is describing the great emperor Alexander 01:26 the Great who is actually mentioned here 01:30 in Bible prophecy 01:32 hundreds of years before he is born. 01:37 This is quite astounding. 01:39 The Bible says that after Persia, 01:42 it would come this mighty king of Greece 01:45 and the Bible says, 01:47 when he was at the height of his power, 01:50 after he had conquered the world, 01:53 his kingdom would be divided. 01:56 And his kingdom was divided, 01:58 the historian tells me 02:00 among his four warring generals Cassander, 02:03 Lysimachus, Seleucus, 02:06 and Ptolemy and the prophecy came to pass. 02:10 It is quite astounding, really. 02:13 I want to say something to the skeptic 02:15 who is watching the television program today. 02:19 I've had the privilege of talking to thousands, 02:22 maybe millions of skeptics, and cynics, 02:25 and atheists in the lands of the former Soviet Union. 02:28 I've had literally millions of these type of people, 02:34 communist, atheist, come to the meetings. 02:37 And I've seen tens of thousands of them come to Christ 02:41 because of the word of Bible prophecy. 02:44 I've had members of the KGB say to me, 02:48 "We can't believe because of blind faith, 02:50 but we do believe because prophecy speaks." 02:55 And we've seen tens of thousands of atheists 03:00 and skeptics come to Christ 03:03 because of the evidence of Bible prophecy, 03:07 such as the prophecy of Alexander the Great, 03:11 where he was described by the prophet 03:14 hundreds of years before he was born. 03:18 Now Daniel 11 is a complex chapter, 03:21 it talks about the kings of the north 03:24 and the kings of the south 03:26 and we really don't have too much time to go 03:28 into the details. 03:30 But we're going to come over now to the description 03:33 of the last great antichrist 03:35 in Daniel 11:36 and onwards. 03:41 This is a prophetic picture 03:44 of the last great antichrist. 03:48 "Then the king 03:50 shall do according to his own will..." 03:52 This is talking about the last days. 03:55 "He shall exalt and magnify himself 03:58 above every god, 04:00 shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, 04:04 and shall prosper till the wrath 04:06 there's been accomplished, 04:08 for what has been determined shall be done. 04:13 He shall neither regard the God of his fathers 04:17 nor the desire of women, nor regard any god, 04:22 for he shall exalt himself above them all. 04:26 But in their place 04:27 he shall honor a god of fortresses, 04:30 and a god which his father did not know 04:33 he shall honor with gold and silver, 04:36 with precious stones and pleasant things. 04:41 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses 04:45 with a foreign God..." 04:46 This is the antichrist. 04:48 "Which he shall acknowledge and advance its glory, 04:52 and he shall cause them to rule over many, 04:54 and divide the land for gain." 04:59 Now the chapter goes on and describes 05:01 more of these nefarious activities, 05:05 but this power to a certain extent 05:09 has already come in history. 05:13 There arose a great religious king in the history of Europe 05:17 that did all of these things, but the Bible says, 05:20 in the last days they'll be manifested, 05:24 the last great antichrist 05:27 who will combine in his personage, 05:31 the affairs of religion, 05:33 and the affairs of the civil power. 05:37 And many believe that the antichrist 05:40 is even now coming into the world. 05:45 He is a person who deceives the world, 05:50 and the millions fall down, and they worship him. 05:54 Listen to this. 05:56 You can think about this, 05:58 the coming antichrist who rules the world 06:02 is a great religious and political leader 06:05 whose power is mighty. 06:09 Millions will be deceived including millions of Americans 06:15 because they follow lies 06:17 instead of the truths of the Bible. 06:24 Don't you remember Hitler? 06:27 And the German people 06:28 were some of the most sophisticated people 06:32 who would ever drawn in God's pure breast, 06:37 and about 95% of the German people 06:42 hailed Hitler and accepted him 06:45 as the spokesman for God. 06:49 And Hitler said something very significant, 06:52 he said, "You don't need to only just tell a lie." 06:55 He said, 06:58 "You tell the lie and make it the biggest lie." 07:02 He said, "You keep repeating lies 07:04 and you make them big, big, big, powerful lies." 07:08 And the German people, 07:09 95% of them accepted Hitler 07:13 and murdered 6 million Jews 07:16 and the world was plunged into a time of trouble 07:21 and tens of millions of people died 07:24 because they followed a man 07:26 who was so charming 07:30 and told their itching ears 07:32 exactly what they wanted to hear. 07:36 They believed the lies. 07:39 The Bible says the antichrist 07:41 is going to have worldwide dominion. 07:46 Once upon a time, 07:48 I wondered how this could ever happen again. 07:50 I thought to myself, 07:52 how could people after what we saw in Europe, 07:55 how could people ever in the last days worship 07:58 such a person? 08:00 And I think I understand why. 08:03 As people drift from God 08:06 and as they stopped reading the Bible 08:09 which is the Word of God, 08:12 and this word is the truth of God. 08:15 Jesus said, "You will know the truth 08:18 and the truth will make you free." 08:19 But if you don't read the Bible, 08:23 you will be so easily deceived 08:29 by the coming antichrist. 08:31 He's not here yet, but he's coming. 08:35 Now verse 44-45 after his worldwide dominion, 08:40 you read these words. 08:42 "But news from the east 08:43 and the north should trouble him, 08:46 therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy 08:50 and annihilate many." 08:52 The Bible says, there comes a reign of terror. 08:59 "And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas 09:02 and the glorious holy mountain, yet he shall come to his end, 09:07 and no one will help him." 09:11 After brainwashing the billions, 09:18 he comes to his end. 09:20 Now it is true to say, listen carefully. 09:25 Every dictator is doomed. 09:30 I don't care who he is, 09:34 Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar, 09:38 Pharaoh, Alexander the Great, 09:42 Caesar, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin. 09:49 If you talk to young people today, 09:51 they don't even know what you're talking about. 09:53 Never heard of these people. 09:54 Stalin, who is he? 09:57 Pol Pot. Pol Pot? 09:59 Who is he? Is he a cartoon character? 10:01 No, he murdered millions of people, 10:04 Pol Pot communist. 10:06 Mao Zedong, murdered tens of millions of Chinese. 10:11 They all came to their ends. 10:14 One wise man said, "Man may have his hour, 10:20 but God will have His day." 10:23 You hear this? 10:25 And God's day is still coming, 10:29 but the kingdom of God is going to come. 10:32 Look at Revelation 19:11-16. 10:37 Revelation 19, 10:39 "I saw heaven standing open 10:41 and there before me was a white horse, 10:43 this is a symbolic, 10:44 whose rider is called Faithful and True. 10:47 With justice he judges and wages war. 10:50 His eyes are like blazing fire, 10:53 and on his head are many crowns. 10:55 He has a name written on him 10:57 that no one knows but he himself. 11:01 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, 11:04 and his name is the Word of God. 11:08 The armies of heaven were following him, 11:10 riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, 11:14 white and clean. 11:16 Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword 11:18 with which to strike down the nations. 11:21 He will rule them with an iron scepter. 11:25 He treads the winepress of the fury 11:27 of the wrath of God Almighty. 11:30 On his robe and on his thigh 11:32 he has this name written: 11:34 "King of kings and Lord of lords." 11:38 ' Listen, whatever happens in this world, 11:43 Jesus is going to return, 11:47 and Jesus is going to set up His kingdom. 11:51 That is why we need to take Christ, 11:54 Christ into our hearts. 11:56 And we need to do it today 11:58 because the times are filled with trouble, 12:00 and filled with deception, and filled with lies. 12:04 You need to know the truth. 12:06 Now look at Daniel 12:1, 12:08 "At that time Michael shall stand up, 12:11 that's Christ. 12:13 The great prince who stands 12:15 watch over the sons of your people, 12:17 and there shall be a time of trouble, 12:19 such as never was since there was a nation..." 12:21 This is the great tribulation, 12:23 and the church of God is on the earth 12:25 during the great tribulation. 12:28 "Even at that same time. 12:30 And at that time your people shall be delivered. 12:35 Every one who is found 12:37 written in the book." 12:41 Now it says, Michael stands up. 12:44 Well, who's Michael? 12:45 Well, Michael is Christ. 12:47 This is another name for the Son of God, the Logos. 12:51 When things are as bad as they can be, 12:57 Michael stands up. 12:59 We are never alone. 13:01 There comes a great time of trouble, 13:03 the great tribulation. 13:04 I know that so many of my colleagues 13:07 in some circles teach 13:09 that the church is raptured home to glory. 13:12 People say to me, 13:13 "Don't you believe in the church 13:16 being raptured home to glory?" 13:18 And I say, "Forgive me, 13:19 I don't believe it 13:21 because it's not taught in the Bible." 13:25 The Bible says, 13:26 there is this tremendous time of trouble 13:29 and the church is in the midst of this time of trouble, 13:32 but Christ comes and He saves His people. 13:36 The Bible says, "Christ stands up." 13:39 So we are never for saken, 13:42 never, never, never alone. 13:46 And then it says, 13:48 "Everyone who has found written in the book." 13:51 What on earth is this talking about? 13:54 The Bible says, I want you to think about this. 13:59 The Bible says, 14:01 there is a record kept of every life. 14:05 There is a record kept of the people 14:08 who belong to Christ, who belong to God, 14:11 who've been washed in the blood of the Lamb. 14:14 And the Bible says, God knows all about them. 14:17 And when Michael stands up, 14:19 those people are delivered and taken home to glory. 14:24 So there's a big question, 14:25 how do I get my name in this book? 14:29 I get my name in this book by coming as a penitent sinner 14:33 to Christ and confessing my sins. 14:37 I've heard of some people who say, 14:38 "I never confessed my sins. 14:40 I've got no sins to confess." 14:44 How pitiful those poor deluded souls are. 14:50 The Bible tells me, if I come to Christ, 14:53 and repent of my sins, 14:55 and ask Christ to come into my life, 14:58 and if I determine by the grace of God 15:00 that I'm going to keep His Word, 15:01 the Bible tells me, 15:03 John Carter's name is written down 15:06 in the book of life. 15:08 And I am going to be delivered. 15:11 You can have your name written down today. 15:15 Don't you want your name written down today, you see? 15:19 You can have your name written down there today. 15:23 Look at verse 2, 15:25 "Many of those 15:26 who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake." 15:29 So the Bible tells me 15:30 that the dead are not in heaven, 15:33 or the Bible teaches 15:35 they're sleeping in the dust of the earth 15:38 awaiting the resurrection. 15:40 "And many of those 15:42 who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, 15:44 some to everlasting life, 15:47 and some to shame and everlasting contempt," 15:53 the Bible says. 15:54 The Bible teaches 15:56 that there are two resurrections. 15:59 The resurrection of the righteous, 16:02 Jesus said in John 5:28-29 16:07 that there are two resurrections. 16:11 If you don't come up in the first, 16:13 you're going to come up in the second. 16:17 The Bible teaches that every person 16:19 who has ever lived 16:21 is going to be raised from the dead. 16:22 Did you know this? 16:24 I met a man once he said, "When I die, 16:25 I go six feet under and that's the end of me." 16:28 Oh, it's not. That's just the start of you. 16:32 The Bible teaches every person. 16:34 Stalin is going to be resurrected, 16:36 Alexander the Great is going to be resurrected. 16:39 Every person who's ever lived on the face of this earth, 16:43 you and me are going to be resurrected. 16:45 "Do not be amazed at this, 16:47 for a time is coming 16:48 when all who are in their graves 16:50 will hear his voice and come out..." 16:53 They're in the graves. 16:55 "Those who have done good, those who have done good, 17:00 what is good will rise to live, 17:04 and those who have done 17:05 what is evil will rise to be condemned." 17:10 I took a funeral yesterday 17:14 on the other side of Los Angeles, 17:17 one of the suburbs 17:18 of the great city of Los Angeles. 17:20 Wonderful group of people there, 17:22 I said right at the open grave, 17:26 what a day it's going to be here in this place. 17:28 So many people are going to be waking up. 17:32 And the Bible tells me, 17:33 some are going to wake up to everlasting life 17:36 and the Bible says, 17:38 others are going to wake up 17:39 to everlasting contempt or everlasting damnation. 17:44 This is the Word of the Lord. 17:47 You can believe the words of Christ, 17:50 you can believe the words of the Bible. 17:53 And the Bible tells us why Jesus came? 17:55 Why did Jesus come? 17:57 Well, it's very plain, why did Jesus come? 18:00 Jesus came to pay the price for my sins. 18:04 I'm a sinner but Jesus came, died on the cross, 18:08 bore the sin of the world. 18:10 Bore your sin, bore my sin, 18:14 and don't say you don't have any sins, 18:16 we're all sinners, 18:17 and we need to repent of our sins. 18:20 A person who says, 18:21 "I don't need to repent of my sins 18:22 is so far from God." 18:25 At that point, he is beyond redemption, 18:28 but when you and I come to the place 18:30 and we repent of our sins 18:32 and we accept the gift of everlasting life, 18:36 God puts our names in His book. 18:41 And we're going to come up 18:42 in the resurrection of the righteous. 18:46 Look at verse 3, 18:48 "Those who are wise shall shine 18:52 like the brightness of the firmament. 18:56 And those who turn many to righteousness 19:00 like the stars forever and ever." 19:04 How long are those stars been shining? 19:08 Billions of years. 19:10 The Bible says, the righteous are going to shine 19:15 for billions and billions of years. 19:20 Recently, during the past few years 19:23 I've lost a number of my dear friends. 19:26 As you get older, 19:30 you start to find 19:31 that you are losing lots of friends. 19:35 Tom Ludowici lead me to Christ. 19:39 Warren Judd, dear friend, Graeme Bradford, 19:42 very close friend, Eddie Totenhofer, 19:45 taught me just about everything. 19:48 I learned in this area. 19:50 Athal Tolhurst, a great friend. 19:52 My brother-in-law, John Stackelroth, 19:54 all of these magnificent people 19:58 who died trusting fully in Christ, 20:01 they're going to come forth out of the grave 20:04 and they're going to shine on, and shine on, and shine on. 20:08 I want to shine with them, what about you, friend? 20:11 God's people will live again, want you to know that. 20:15 And look at Chapter 12:8-10, 20:19 "Although I heard, I did not understand." 20:21 A lot of things I don't understand. 20:23 You're saved because you understand everything. 20:26 You're saved because you repent of your sins. 20:30 "Although I heard, I did not understand." 20:32 Before I go any further, let me tell you something. 20:35 I don't want to offend you. 20:37 I seem to think 20:39 there's far too much religion in the world. 20:42 Too much religion, not enough about God. 20:46 You know, 20:48 religion for many, many, people is simply as my old 20:52 Irish father or partly Irish, 20:55 he said to me, 20:57 "It's just a money making racket." 21:01 Some churches are a money making racket. 21:06 When the preacher gets up on television, 21:08 what does he talk about? 21:10 "Hey, give me, give me, give me." 21:12 You see. 21:13 So a lot of people say, 21:15 "I don't want to have anything to do 21:16 with that sort of religion." 21:17 But I want to tell you something, 21:19 I don't want to have anything to do 21:20 with that sort of religion, 21:22 but I want to have a lot to do with Jesus, you see. 21:25 And if you and I come to Jesus and believe in Him, 21:28 it's going to be okay. 21:31 Look at verse 8. 21:35 "Although I heard, I did not understand. 21:37 Then I said, 21:38 ' My lord, what will be the end of these things?' 21:40 He said, 'Go your way, Daniel, 21:43 for the words are closed up 21:44 and sealed till the time of the end..." 21:46 That's about now. 21:48 "Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, 21:52 but the wicked shall do wickedly." 21:54 Don't be worried about wicked people 21:56 doing wicked things. 21:58 God is going to take care of them, you see. 22:01 They're going to come up in the second resurrection. 22:04 The wicked shall do wickedly 22:06 and none of the wicked shall understand, 22:09 but the wise shall understand." 22:13 ' Now there are some things we understand 22:15 and there are some things we don't understand. 22:18 Read this little poem 22:19 many years ago, it stuck with me. 22:21 "Not now, but in the coming years, 22:23 it may be in the better land, 22:26 we'll read the meaning of our tears, 22:28 and there, sometime, we'll understand. 22:31 Then trust in God through all thy light days, 22:34 Fear not, for he death hold thy hand. 22:36 Though dark thy way, still sing and praise. 22:39 Sometime, sometime, we'll understand." 22:43 We're gonna understand one day. 22:45 "We'll catch the broken thread again, 22:48 and finish what we here began. 22:51 God will the mysteries explain, 22:53 and then, ah, then, we'll understand. 22:57 We'll know why clouds instead of sun 22:59 were over many a cherished plan, 23:02 why song has ceased when scarce begun. 23:06 'Tis then, sometime, we'll understand. 23:10 What we long for most of all, eludes so oft our eager hand. 23:16 Why hopes are crushed and castles fall. 23:21 Till then, sometime, we'll understand." 23:24 Now listen to these words, 23:26 they stuck with me down through the years 23:27 that's been a blessing to me as they will be to you. 23:30 "God knows the way, He holds the key, 23:35 He guides us with unerring hand. 23:37 Sometime with tearless eyes we'll see 23:41 and, then, 'tis then, we'll understand. 23:46 Lot of things can't understand now, 23:49 can't understand why good people get cancer, 23:53 can't understand why evil seems to reign, 23:56 can't understand lot of those things, 23:58 but one day in glory we'll understand. 24:02 But we don't have to understand, 24:05 you don't have to understand, 24:07 you don't have to understand everything, 24:08 all you need to do is know 24:10 that the God whom you serve is worthy of your trust. 24:15 You can trust in Him that one day we'll be home. 24:20 Look at verse 13, 24:23 this is the last verse in our series, 24:27 "But you, go your way, go your way till the end, 24:32 for you shall rest, 24:34 and will arise to your inheritance 24:37 at the end of the days." 24:42 So God says to him, Daniel, 24:43 a lot of things you don't understand. 24:46 The old person now, 24:48 wonder why politics seem to be working too well. 24:51 You don't understand 24:53 why the politicians are making things worse 24:55 than they should be making it good. 24:57 But he says, "I want you to know, 25:00 I'm going to give you some rest. 25:02 You're going to rest in peace 25:06 and you're going to rise in glory." 25:09 One day Daniel is going to walk out of his tomb 25:13 like all of these people here who trusted in Christ. 25:17 Gonna walk out of that tombs, 25:20 they're going to be given brand new, 25:25 beautiful, youthful, 25:27 wonderful, eternal bodies. 25:32 They will live forever and shine like the stars, 25:38 and a billion years will just be the start. 25:42 And if you believe these things, 25:45 if you believe in the God who believes in you, 25:49 if you follow His Word, 25:53 if you trust in Christ, and I'll tell you something? 25:59 If you have the hope of eternity, 26:02 you will be 26:06 10 times better 26:11 and you will live victoriously. 26:17 Amen. 27:25 God has got a time and a place for everything, 27:28 nothing happens by chance. 27:32 In spite of the powers of darkness, 27:36 nothing can destroy the church of God. 27:40 And I'm not ashamed of the gospel 27:44 of the Lord Jesus Christ. 27:48 That the gospel is not about you and me, 27:51 it is the good news about the Lord Jesus Christ. 27:57 What and where is heaven?
